This year's Halloween costume theme was decided years ago. Before the doll of Alex was even made, he had me buying him a light saber in Disney World for just this occasion. And of course it's not nearly as much fun if you don't drag some friends along...
Group shot of everyone as Star Wars characters! My large dolls don't really travel much except with me, but the smaller TVs wanted in on the fun too, so they made up their own costumes with varying degrees of success... Alex as Luke, Raven as Has Solo, Amelie as Leia, then Alex_Lion as Darth Vader, Cilly as the Emperor, Einstein as C3PO, Willy W as R2-D2, Horatio as Yoda, and Vanilla as Chewbacca. Alex_Lion: I used a lot of duct tape for that shiny look, but don't worry, I have fabric underneath so it won't stick to my fur! The helmet was pretty hard. But I wanted to be a cool character and Raven had the one I wanted most! Cilly: I wanted to be Princess Amidala, but Mel wanted to keep it to the original movie (and I could not get that headpiece to work out for me) so I decided that I could still be royalty. The black robes were boring though so I went with the court garb. Einstein: I wanted to a smart character, and Snakey leaving left this one open for me, so I did it! Mel had the perfect fabric for it. Willy W: It might look simple, but there's a lot of nuts and bolts involved on the inside. This droid would be perfectly functional if Mel had more tools my size! Horatio: Whoo! I just got home today and I got a light saber! I'm not sure who this Yoda guy is but Mel said I was small and green and perfect for it. I don't care, I got a light saber! Swoosh swoosh! Vanilla: This fur is the most crazy, fun stuff ever. Don't I look the part? I want to jump on a spaceship with Raven and Amie and see the stars up close! |

These are *killing* me! |
Leslee Posted Oct 30, 2011, 2:50 pm |
I so agree with Kcrawfish! These are fabulous. I really enjoy seeing people have such fun with their toy friends!
So many clever ideas for costumes! sararingham, those two look like they are having such a good time and I wish I could come trick or treating to your house! RikeH this is an inspired idea for ghost costumes! Kcrawfish that is just too horrific for words :OD Leslie I love this mellow light with all those candles. MA 17, that is very scary stuff. Kessalia, I am impressed with your Star Wars theme and think your droids are very cute. Here is Karlie wearing a beast mask, sitting among the purple carrots he bought yesterday. |
Katara Posted Oct 30, 2011, 3:49 pm |
Mo's friends decided to play a little 'trick' on him. They asked their troll friends and the friendly witch if they could 'scare' Mo a bit...
Earlier this afternoon he was 'kidnapped' by the trolls and the witch decided that she was going to cook him in her cauldron for dinner... |

I am loving the entries! There is only one more day left after today. |

Yay! Fiona Yenien was born to be a star!
Thank you klubwerks for this contest! It was so much fun! |
kcrawfish Posted Nov 2, 2011, 10:23 pm |
I loved all the entries but am delighted to see Vanilla as Chewbacca and Fiona Yenien as a wicked camelid. What creativity!
P.S. The photos by MamiTig and MA_17 really creeped me out! And, Leslee, Karlie's "black" carrots were so perfectly creepy, too. I love the way the TV would be totally unrecognizable, too, except for that darned carrot car. |
