Dear Mum

We went to Homburg, a small city situated in the German state of Saarland.

This is the youth hostel we stayed at.



However, before we went to the hostel, we had some delicious icecream.



I'm sure that you've already noticed that nuriayasmin loves castles and old things, so the reason we went to Homburg had something to do with history, of course, we wanted to see the ruins of Hohenburg Fortress.

So we climbed up the hill and had a nice view over the city.



There's a hotel next to the castle and I met one of its employees:



Then I read some information about the fortress and the region. The fortress was built around 1200 and destroyed by the French in the early 18th century.

And here's something even older than the fortress: the fossil of a dinosaur. Hope you can see a bit of it in the stone behind me.



As there was still time when we came back to town, we strolled through the park near the hostel and played on the playground.









It was a great day but I was very tired in the evening.
