Great Yarmouth, Norfolk, England - 3rd September 2006

By: willowstar

Slept like a log last night with my friends 'the kittens'. My guardians told me that the largish man with glasses and a red shiny car, known as 'Daddy-Roger', was on his way, and soon we would be heading to the sea side! Very excited, and the weather was nice and sunny for it.
There was a loud 'ding dong', apparently a warning to humans that there is someone from the outside world, seeking someone within the building. It was the man with the shiny red car again! he smiled as he grinned at me for the 2nd time. I was told that the 'kittens' weren't coming, so I waved them goodbye, and went to kiss my prince again, only to be trodden on by the smaller one for the 20th blimin' time instead. My two guardians, me and the 'Daddy/Roger' were soon on the move, in his shiny red car. I had the front seat, on the dashboard!
After about 25 minutes, we pulled into a place called 'Potter-heigham', there was a large flat building called 'Lathems'. I was left on the dashboard (very hot by now), whilst everyone went into the building, to buy some 'cheap tat', I herd my blonde guardian say.
They returned a while later, with lots of plastic bags. I wonder if they purchased some 'tat'. We were shortly on the road again, and eventually we drove over a small bridge, and ahead of us was something called 'the sea'. My guardians and the 'Daddy/Roger' cheered loudly at the sight of this large water mass, so I started croaking to appear interested at the view too.
We parked near a place called the 'Waterways', and walked along a concrete path next to the beach called a 'prom', where I was excitedly swung between my guardian's. The yellow mass called 'sand', looked dry and uninviting to me, but the sea beyond looked refreshing, been longing for a dip.  My kind guardian's let me have a go on a car racing game, in a place called an 'arcade', couldn't quite reach the pedals, so my guardians pushed them for me whilst I did the steering. Saw some toys behind a glass box, not sure why they were all there, but I was informed that they were probably all on an adventure like me. I wasn't convinced, but agreed anyway. My guardian and the nice largish man, went on a very scary ride with me, I screamed a lot as we whizzed round corners and up and down hills at a very fast 2mph. Apparently it was a child's ride, I couldn't believe it.
We looked at shops, like the one on the way here, that also stocked 'tat', but this didn't stop us going in each and every one! Finally had some chips for our lunch in the park, and a rock and slush puppy at a beach side cafe.
With my belly full and my tongue blue, we strolled along the beach, paddled in the sea, and finally arrived at a flag poll. I was firmly informed that this was where my 2 guardians and the nice largish gent with glasses were going to leave me to start my next adventure. I thanked them all for there kindness and hospitality, and waved them goodbye. The blonde one seemed very sad, and kept waving as she walked away, until she was just a tiny dot in the distance. I will never forget them. I wonder where I will end up next ..........?
