Hi Mom!
Last weekend we have holiday here from Friday to Sunday. It was time of Midsummer. Days are long and nights are short in this time of year. There is an old saying, that after Midsummer days are starting to get shorter by rooster step every day. My host really don’t know, where that saying comes from.
Midsummer eve we went to market place and bought new potatoes, tomatoes, cucumber, peas, strawberries and beautiful flowers. Growing season here in Finland is very short and when new vegetables and berries are ready, they are so good. That’s true Mom, I tasted everything (except flowers).
We took few pics at my host’s balcony, and you never guess, what time is it? Almost 11.00 p.m.
Many Finnish people go to summer cottages or to see bonfires at Midsummer. My host is not a fan of either, so we stayed at home. We eat well, relaxed and have a good time.
Love you Mom!
Emma
