Here people called it 香蕉,
sounds as "heung-jiu", or can simply called it "jiu",
since "heung" is a word that describes the good smelling,
"jiu" is banana, so it is good smelling banana.

"heung" is also the name of Hong Kong, it means "good smelling harbour".
