Palisades, CO, USA - 12th February 2008

By: wourpet

Because we were on the I-70 when we stopped to take pictures at Mt Garfield we had to drive all the way to Palisades to turn around.  The I-70 is a long highway called an Interstate that goes across the US.  I-70 is the first one started and is also the most difficult because it goes through the Rocky Mountains.  It stretches all the way from Utah to Maryland.

As we drove past Mt Garfield we could see Grand Mesa on our right.  Grand Mesa is the largest flat top mountain in the world.  It has over 300 lakes on top of it.

Wourpet said Palisades is famous for its peaches.

On the drive back from Palisades to Grand Junction we could see Mt Garfield and the Bookcliffs from the other direction.
