Next stop, the Wilts & Berks Canal, or rather, what remains of it!

It was built between 1795 and 1810, joining the Kennet and Avon Canal and The Thames at Abingdon. It is now famous for being the longest derelict canal in the country.

What a claim to fame!

It is hoped to restore it, much as has been done to the Kennet & Avon Canal. It will need to be re-routed through Swindon though as much of it has been built on.
