We went up Northcliff Hill to the top of the ridge to see Johannesburg and it's northern suburbs from there.
This is the view to the south of Johannesburg and the CBD, but most of the business has moved to a more upmarket area called Sandton.
The buildings in the distance are the Sandton CBD.
Lacey was allowed to join us on this trip and here we are with the famous Northcliff Water Tower behind us. Very romantic all this scenery!

Lacey and I managed to just sit and chat for a while, taking in the gorgeous views. (It was a long way down...!)
We drove around and saw the mine dumps that are dotted around Johannesburg. This is the waste, left over after removing the gold from the rocks. With improved technology though, these mine dumps are being recycled and even more gold is being removed from them.
Back at Vicki's house, this is the view of Northcliff Ridge, (where we had just been), from Vicki's back garden.
It was such a glorious day that we all sat at the pool, soaking up the sun, except for Grape Ape who was complaining that he was getting too hot!
We even jumped on the trampoline with Juanita! Wow! What fun, just had to watch that we didn't knock heads!
