St Jacobs, Ontario, Canada - 24th January 2008

By: starbursidereus

Today my host took me for a road trip on her lunch hour! We travelled just five minutes north of Waterloo, Ontario.

The St Jacobs Farmer's Market is a really big market where farmers and Mennonites come to sell their fresh vegetables and fruits, and other vendors sell things like shoes, candles and clothing.

We couldn't stay very long because my host had to go back to work. She told me that we are going to go back soon! Maybe next time we'll see a Mennonite family in their horse & buggy! There are lots of farms just outside Waterloo.

This is one of the entrances to the Market. Because it is wintertime, there are not many people coming outside to shop!

This is another Market building. It is more modern and supposed to sell cheaper things but my host said it's hard to find a deal here!

Here we are driving into the village of St Jacobs. We will come back!

Lisa (my host) says that she will take me to an Austrian restaurant soon! There is at least one in Kitchener so we will go there for dinner, maybe tomorrow! She said she is looking forward to having schnitzel again. (She has a German background but hasn't had the food in so long!)

Ok, that's all for now. I have to stay quiet until Lisa is done working for the day. Bye!
