After already got a little bored in Chennai, it was again, time to travel! I was wondering, where my host would bring me, because they didn't pack a lot of stuff. Just some bathing cloths, a few t-shirts, some books and their ipods.
Where would we go?????
The flight time was not really long, till we landed in ...... Malè, the capitel of the island groups of the maledives.
The Maldives or Maldive Islands, officially the Republic of Maldives, is an island country consisting of a group of atolls stretching south of India's Lakshadweep islands between Minicoy Island and the Chagos Archipelago, and about seven hundred kilometres south-west of Sri Lanka in the Laccadive Sea of Indian Ocean. The twenty-six atolls of Maldives encompass a territory featuring 1,192 islets, of which 250 islands are inhabited.
The Maldives is the smallest Asian country in terms of both population and area; it is the smallest predominantly Muslim nation in the world. With an average ground level of 1.5 metres (4 ft 11 in) above sea level,it is also the country with the lowest highest point in the world, at 2.3 metres (7 ft 7 in).
From Malè we took a seaplane to reach our destination, Sun Island Resort, on an island of the south ari atoll.
The flight was exciting, though you could see several islands on the way by and I was full of anticipation!!!
