São José dos Campos, SP, Brazil - 1st February 2009
By: mizlilian
Hi Mom!
After a long rainy week, finally we had a beautiful sunny sunday... so Lilian took me and Robby to her favourite park in the city, named 'Vicentina Aranha'.
A overview of the park:
The park was created in 1924 to be an hospital for tuberculosis patients - São José dos Campos was known as a good place to treat this disease. In the 80's, they turned the hospital into a eldery shelter, till 2004, when it was closed and finally bought by Major's Bureau to became a park.
Is such a beautiful place, with trees, track for a walk, chapel... I loved it! Is a nice place to have a peaceful day and maybe a pic-nic!
Here, me and Robby in front of the main pavillion:
Me, in front of the beautiful chapel:
Me and Robby playing at the garden:
Here we are looking for a fresh place to stay - it was really hot!!!
We found a fountain, and we're anxious for some water - but the fountain was dry! Anyway, is such a pretty fountain!
There were some animals too. Look! Hens and a turkey!
The walking way:
Backside of main pavillion:
Pink flowers! AWSOME:
This a very interesting tree with such a different fruit. It's name in Portuguese is JACA, is a very common fruit in Brazil, but Lilian Told us she doesn't apreciate this fruit at all!
Such a big fruit! We asked Lilian to come closer:
Definetively, it was a very funny day! I'm loving this stay!
