It has been a busy few days back at school.
Today I saw some of the children's favourite snacks.
Well, the Tinkies are American styled, but everything else is local.
South African children really like dried fruit and a dried spicy sausage called 'wors' which you pronounce 'vorrrrrs', and dried, salted meat which is called 'biltong'. It would also seem that they are quite fond of crisps. They call them chips.
Can you see how colourful the South African flag is?
You will have to take my word for it that the biltong and wors tastes a WHOLE LOT better than it looks!
What else have we got here? A chicken pie, sandwiches, rice cakes, fresh fruit, dried fruit, flavoured milk, cheese dippers and ... an elephant? Oh silly me! That's not lunch! That is the class elephant.
