I decided to take part in the Big German Round Robin and I'm really curious to learn more about the Federal States of Germany. At first I had to read about my own Federal State Baden-Württemberg.

I had to learn, that there are 16 Federal States and Baden-Württemberg is the third largest of them and is located in the southwestern part of the country to the east of the Upper Rhine.

10.7 million inhabitants live here. The state capital is Stuttgart.

The sobriquet Ländle ("small land" or "dear land" in the local dialect) is sometimes used as a synonym for the Swabian part of Baden-Württemberg, but I live in the Baden part of Baden-Württemberg. The capital city of this part is Karlsruhe.

I really tried to go there, but the weather was so terrible, that my mum said, that we will go there, when I'm back at home again.

This sign says, that we can everything - except High German :)

Here's the coat of arms and the flag of Baden-Württemberg.

I read some statistics about Baden-Württemberg, too.

There are many administrative divisions.

There are two low mountain ranges in Baden-Württemberg: Schwäbische Alb and Schwarzwald. On the photo you can see Kraichgau and the green Rhine valley. I live at the border of Rhine valley to Kraichgau.

Maybe you heard about Stuttgart 21? It's about the railway station in Stuttgart - and it costs a lot of money.

Baden is the brown coloured part in the next map.

One famous cake is the Schwarzwälder Kirschtorte - the Black Forest Cake.
