Hi mummy! My host Selina has joined a study tour so she brought me along. We visited Beijing!
We first went to the Tiananmen Square.
"Wikipedia: Tiananmen Square is a large city square in the center of Beijing, China, named after the Tiananmen Gate (Gate of Heavenly Peace) located to its North, separating it from the Forbidden City.Tiananmen Square is the third largest city square in the world (440,000 mē - 880m by 500m or 109 acres - 960 by 550 yd). It has great cultural significance as it was the site of several important events in Chinese history."
We visited the National Museum of China also, which is just next to the Tiananmen Square.
My host was not interested in it but this museum was actually helping me to know a little more about China.
"Wikipedia: The National Museum of China flanks the eastern side of Tiananmen Square in Beijing, China. The museum's mission is to educate about the arts and history of China. It is directed by the Ministry of Culture of the People's Republic of China."
We had Beijing style roasted duck and other delicious Chinese dishes for lunch.
We visited the Temple of Heaven after lunch.
"Wikipedia: The Temple of Heaven, literally the Altar of Heaven is a complex of religious buildings situated in the southeastern part of central Beijing."
"Wikipedia: The complex was visited by the Emperors of the Ming and Qing dynasties for annual ceremonies of prayer to Heaven for good harvest. It has been regarded as a Taoist temple,[1] although Chinese Heaven worship, especially by the reigning monarch of the day, pre-dates Taoism."
Finally, we went to Tianjin by China Railway High-speed (CRH).
We only spent 30 minutes to go to Tianjin from Beijing. So fast!
