Melancholy Pie

Sir Hector arrived a few days ago accompanied by a beautiful soap gift. It was a very nice surprise. He's very cute and soft.

Our first proper outing had to wait until Waitangi long weekend which has just finished. We headed up the coast from Wellington to Waikanae to stay the night at a bach. The weather was very nice.

The drive home isn't too far, about an hour. We get to drive along one of Kim's favourite stretches of road.

Back in Wellington the weather is terrible. It has started pouring down since this photo was taken.

Sir Hector was momentarily sated when he saw my huge cupcake but was definitely disappointed when he realised it wasn't real :[

Sir Hector and I took a short trip up to Hamilton to see my family and go to a concert in a nearby city.
The weather was disgustingly muggy half of the time and pouring down with rain (still muggy) the other half.

The concert we went up north for was Iron Maiden! No cameras were allowed in the stadium but we got one of Sir Hector with my ticket. :D

The Southern Hemisphere is heading into Autumn now and the weather has been a lot cooler. Today though, the sun decided to turn it on for us. We walked home by the waterfront and got a few sunny snaps.

Someone put bubbles in the fountain!

Number 8 wire is a very Kiwi thing. This windswept pohutukawa tree sculpture shows is beautifully.

The sunset was pretty stunning too.
