As the weather is good this evening, I decided to take a walk at the lake nearby with Felix. He's from Vienna and he's travelling for his friend Leonhard. He has been here for awhile but only now I have a chance to show him around Shah Alam. We visited the State Museum, the Blue Mosque and just sit down and relax around the lake.

We went to The Genting Theme Park which located at the top of Genting Highlands. It's 2000 metres above sea levels and the sky was bright blue when we arrived so it's perfect to enjoy our day.

Yeah...Mukhsin arrived in Taiwan today. There was a note that I had to pick up a package at the front desk and there he was, the cute little cow.
I'll update this log soon with the first pictures of Mukhsin in Nankan. |

What a great news! I am the Voyager of the Week. yay!! |
icitaiwan Posted May 5, 2007, 2:08 pm |
Wow, what a news......I'm the Toy Voyager of the week .
Am I gonna be famous now? Mommy, I promise that I won't be snobby and arrogant It's me with some ricefields on the background |
icitaiwan Posted May 5, 2007, 2:13 pm |
It look some time for Andrea, my host, to update my blog, because she had to take care of another Toy Voyager, too, Frida, but from now on I'll get all her attention, because Frida will leave the house soon. I'll have to say good-bye to here .
I'm good friends with Amber, Andrea's daughter. She brings me everywhere. |
icitaiwan Posted May 5, 2007, 2:29 pm |
The weather was pretty good last week, so my host took me and Frida on a sightseeing trip to Taipei. We've visited the CKS Memorial Hall, a landmark in Taipei.
Andrea visits this place a lot to play with her daughter on the square and in the surrounding park. She also told me that she usually buys her postcards for Postcrossing at the souvenirshop under the Memorial Hall. The CKS square is flanked on both sides by the National Concert Hall and the National Theater. We were lucky today, because there was a performance on the square, showing some aborigional dances. And no.... I didn't join them . The CKS Memorial Hall was built in 1980 to honour the first president of Taiwan, Chiang Kai-sek. The building is 70 meters high and the white and blue colors of the building, and the red color of the surrounding flowers represent the colors of the Taiwanese flag. At the top of the stairs is a large vault containing a bronze statue of Chiang Kai-sek. The vault is under guard during daytime. This picture shows the view from the top of the CKS Memorial Hall over the square, showings the entrance, and the two theaters. This picture shows the (now) second largest building in Taipei. |
icitaiwan Posted May 12, 2007, 3:11 pm |
It was raining (again!) last week, so my host Andrea stayed inside with her daughter. They played with dough and seemed to have a lot of fun.
I joined them for a while, but it wasn't really my thing |
icitaiwan Posted May 12, 2007, 3:15 pm |
I've left Taiwan today, but don't worry....I'll be back soon. I've joined Andrea's husband on one for his flights to......
...................BRISBANE IN AUSTRALIA |
icitaiwan Posted May 15, 2007, 2:01 pm |
I'm pretty tired after my flight from Brisbane, but I'm also glad to be back in Taiwan.
Andrea's husband took good care of me and showed me around, but also forgot to bring his camera all the time. Luckily he didn't forget to make some pictures from me at the airport . The airplane I was going to travel with: An airplane of Quantas, the national carrier of Australia. Do you notice the kangaroo on the tail? It's time to board the aircraft: My seat during the flight. I was traveling business class and I can get used to that . |
icitaiwan Posted May 15, 2007, 2:07 pm |
I'll be in Taiwan for the next 2 days and after that I'll join Andrea and her family on their trip to the Netherlands. Andrea is Dutch and she told me that she's really looking forward to her holiday. Stay tuned .
|
icitaiwan Posted May 27, 2007, 7:31 am |
Andrea told me that I could join her to the Netherlands, and I was very happy about that, but what a flight! The flight to Amsterdam took 17 hours in total, so I was very happy when we finally arrived. Luckily we were traveling business class, so I had enough space to stretch my legs and have a good sleep.
Me on top of the personal TV. All those silly characters looked like "smashed mosquitoos" to me . |
icitaiwan Posted May 27, 2007, 7:38 am |
We are staying at Andrea's mom's place. The house and the environment is so differerent from her house in Taiwan.
This is the house where I'm staying now. Can you find me? Reading a newspaper on May 23rd A weird statue at the pond in the garten. They call it a "Laaf". Me in between of some flowers in the garten. I can ride a bike, too!!! Do you know that everybody is riding a bike in the Netherlands? |
icitaiwan Posted May 27, 2007, 7:44 am |
My host is addicted to Postcrossing, so she had to buy some postcards of Goes and Zeeland.
Here are some postcard images of the area where I'm staying now. Goes is a city in the province of "Zeeland". Zeeland can be found on the map in the southwest of the Netherlands. It's also connected with neighbor country Belgium. Can you find "Goes" on this map? |
icitaiwan Posted May 27, 2007, 7:51 am |
I've joined Andrea on a trip to one of her friends. We had to drive for one hour, but I loved the view outside.
We saw so many nice things and so many family members of me. There are cows everywhere! Me and a windmill. Me and the countryside. It's so flat here. There aren't any mountains. Andrea's friend have a lovely chair: |
icitaiwan Posted May 27, 2007, 8:10 am |
The weather is really good, so we took the bicycles and decided to go for a ride.
I had a seat on the back, together with Andrea's daughter Amber. Did you know that "Miffy" (we call it "Nijntje") is Dutch? We passed a lot of wheat fields: And I saw this funny road sign. There are so many bicycles in the Netherlands, that they even have special designated roads for bicycles. We visited Andrea's grandparents at a camping. They usually stay there when the weather is good. After that we continued our trip to the "Veerse Meer", a lake nearby. We passed another windmill on our way back home. |
icitaiwan Posted May 27, 2007, 8:16 am |
Tomorrow we'll go on another 5-day-trip together with Andrea's mom and Andrea's sister.
Guess where we are going to.... You're right, we're going to BARCELONA in SPAIN !!! |
icitaiwan Posted Jun 5, 2007, 8:00 am |
I had to get up pretty early today, but I didn't mind that at all.
All the baggage was packed and we were ready to go. We drove by car from Goes to Brussels in Belgium to take the flight. That sounds like a long drive, but Goes is pretty close to the Belgium border and the drive only took an hour or so. We parked the car and checked in. Here I am with a boarding pass After some shopping we went to the gate. Here I am with our airplane And off we go (better said "went" )!!! |
icitaiwan Posted Jun 5, 2007, 8:11 am |
Our apartment was pretty good and in downtown Barcelona. Andrea and her family love to walk, so they decided to walk to the Sagrada Familia, probably the most famous building in Barcelona. Luckily they also had a babystroller with them, so I had the change to be lazy and save my beautiful legs .
This unfinished church was designed by Antoni Gaudi. He worked on this project for 40 years, until his death in 1926. Other people continued his project and they still have a lot of work to do. |
icitaiwan Posted Jun 5, 2007, 8:14 am |
While we were making pictures we saw other people making pictures of the Sagrada Familia with a monkey, what a coincidence!
This monkey already travelled around the world and had even flown in the "Air Force 1", WOW! I really hope that I can see a lot of the world myself. Unfurtunatelly the monkey didn't have a website, only a travelbook. |
icitaiwan Posted Jun 5, 2007, 8:16 am |
We also passed many cathedrals. This is one of them. Can you find me?
|
icitaiwan Posted Jun 5, 2007, 8:20 am |
We passed some other buildings, designed by Gaudi.
Casa Batllo Casa Mila |
icitaiwan Posted Jun 12, 2007, 5:58 am |
Today we've visited a park, also designed by Gaudi. The name of the park is "Parc Guell".
We took the underground to get there, walked around in the sunshine and saw the following "famous" things: |
icitaiwan Posted Jun 12, 2007, 6:00 am |
My host Andrea had to buy some postcards and souvenirs.
|
icitaiwan Posted Jun 12, 2007, 6:04 am |
We had a great time in Barcelona, and flew back to the Netherlands today.
Where are the emergency exits??? |
icitaiwan Posted Jun 12, 2007, 6:07 am |
We went cycling today and guess what I saw, my family. I was so happy to see them again .
This is the place where Andrea was born. She lived here for 12 years. The first house on the left was hers. What a difference with here life in Taiwan now, don't you agree? |
icitaiwan Posted Jun 12, 2007, 6:10 am |
Andrea's sister has a horse, Noa. I joined her to ride her horse and to play with her dog, Mylo. Mylo is a Jack Russell.\
|
icitaiwan Posted Jun 12, 2007, 6:15 am |
We had a dinnerparty tonight at a Mexican restaurant. The food tasted very good and the beer "Desperados" tasted good, too. Maybe a bit too good .
|
icitaiwan Posted Jun 29, 2007, 5:55 am |
My host had to go to the market to buy some gifts, so I joined her to see a bit more of Nankan. We didn't make picture on the market, because it was too crowded there.
This is the mainroad in Nankan, Nankan Road. There wasn't that much traffic, because it was still early, and it was on a Saturday morning. Do you know that there are 1 million scooters in Taiwan? Everybody is riding a scooter here, except my host. She thinks that it's too dangerous. She prefers driving her car. There is also a big shopping mall in Nankan, the Tai Mall. Andrea lives next to the mall and only has to cross a square. That's convenient, but pretty bad for her wallet at the same time . We also went to the roof of the apartment building and this is what I saw: |
icitaiwan Posted Jun 29, 2007, 6:04 am |
The weather was pretty good today, so we went to the CKS Memorial Hall in Taipei. They've actually changed the name into Taiwan National Democratic Memorial Hall recently (politics ), but Andrea keeps on naming it CKS Memorial Hall.
We took the MRT from Andrea's parents-in-law house. I tried to read the MRT map, but those Chinese characters looked too difficult. Luckily it also showed the English names We went to the pond first to feed the fish and take a rest. It was very hot, so I picked a spot in the shadow After that we walked around and make some pictures This a scale model of the complex On the way back we get off at "Zhongxiao Fushing" station. It's a station along one of the (shopping) mainroads in Taipei |
icitaiwan Posted Jun 29, 2007, 6:08 am |
Here are some pictures of the community where I am staying right now
And this will be my very last picture in Taiwan I'm gonna leave Taiwan next week and will continue my journey in Japan. Stay tuned for more adventures of me. Japan, here I come!!!!! |
icitaiwan Posted Jun 29, 2007, 6:11 am |
I was time to say good-bye to everybody in the Netherlands. They have taken very good care of us and we were all a bit sad to go back home.
We left on June 9th and arrived 19 hours later in Taiwan. It was raining and very hot and sticky, yuck! We'll go out again when the weather is getting better.... |
icitaiwan Posted Jul 5, 2007, 12:16 pm |
We said good-bye to Mukhsin today . We left him behind at the post office, but the employer promised to take good care of him. Hopefully he'll have a safe and fast trip to Japan. |

I'm curious about anything new hiiroco will take me out if it clears up this weekend!! I'm looking forward to it |
imajica ilyanim@yahoo.com Posted Mar 22, 2008, 5:39 am |
Hey!
I arrived at imajica's house! |
imajica ilyanim@yahoo.com Posted Mar 22, 2008, 5:41 am |
Today is Malaysia's 12th general election. Imajica's going to vote for the first time, and she brings me as well. Whee!
|
imajica ilyanim@yahoo.com Posted Mar 22, 2008, 5:44 am |
OK, so imajica has just finished university recently and now she's been busy attending interviews here and there. We're now going to KL for another interview. And I want to go with her of course. I promise I'll behave during her interview
|
imajica ilyanim@yahoo.com Posted Mar 22, 2008, 5:48 am |
Oh my! this is my first time riding a train! I am so excited. This gonna take 13 hours or so (yeah, long trip!) because railway in Malaysia goes south first before goes north back to Kuala Lumpur.
And it's getting late and imajica wants to sleep.. see her bed inside the train. What a mess! You can have an idea how her bedroom at home is like. Oh by the way, can you even find me in this picture??? |
imajica ilyanim@yahoo.com Posted Mar 22, 2008, 8:24 am |
So my trip to KL wasn't really good as imajica was too busy with the interview she even forgot to take pictures of me!
anyway. after so many days resting, today imajica brings me out! first, we take a look at kota bharu town, where imajica lives actually. it's the capital of the state of Kelantan. And this year 2008 is Visit Kelantan year. What's happening? let's check the event calendar here.. |
imajica ilyanim@yahoo.com Posted Mar 22, 2008, 8:28 am |
That billboard showing the event calendar is located in front of Gelanggang Seni, or cultural center, where they have cultural performance from time to time. But it's still early for a show now, and nearby this place is the state library. imajica started going to this llibrary since she was 5 but apparently cows are not allowed to enter, so we just take a picture in front of the building.
|
imajica ilyanim@yahoo.com Posted Mar 22, 2008, 8:31 am |
We go around the town, it's so nice over here. Today is Saturday, but it's not usually as crowded as always. I pass by this roundabout at the center of the town, where this clock tower is located.
|
imajica ilyanim@yahoo.com Posted Mar 22, 2008, 8:36 am |
Tourists who come to Kelantan usually "land" in this central square. So you can see here, many buses and cars from outside Kelantan and even from Singapore and Thailand.
At the square there's Sultan Ismail arch which has been one of main landmarks of Kelantan. And on the opposite of the road you can see the Merdeka square, it was the world war memorial as well as the place they had celebration of independence in 1957 in state level. |
imajica ilyanim@yahoo.com Posted Mar 22, 2008, 8:39 am |
At the square there's also Jahar Palace, it has an amazing wooden architecture and was built like almost 100 years ago. Now it's become the museum of Malay royal tradition and customs.
|
imajica ilyanim@yahoo.com Posted Mar 22, 2008, 8:41 am |
Now I'm at one of the main roads in Kota Bharu, with many shophouses which aren't very modern - they perhaps are from the days of Japanese/British colonization (1940s) or earlier. But of course, they're having renovation from time to time.
|
imajica ilyanim@yahoo.com Posted Mar 22, 2008, 8:46 am |
We go to the cultural center again, and time is perfect! They're having performance of Rebana ubi now. Rebana is traditional Kelantanese big drum and has been known as one of popular traditional features of Kelantan. There are many of them, I hope I can discover the rest as well!
They play rebana during events, or in villages sometimes when they have wedding ceremony or something. Here in the cultural centre they play rebana as performance for tourists who come to Kelantan. The show is 3 times a week, and if you come other times you may also have a chance to see other kind of cultural activities. |
imajica ilyanim@yahoo.com Posted Mar 27, 2008, 12:21 pm |
I'm going shopping with imajica! We're going to Tesco. The arabic-like writing is how you write Tesco in Jawi - the old Malay writing, which can rarely be seen now, but we preserve the script here somehow at least at shop signs, billboards ads, etc.
Tesco in Kota Bharu is located nearby Kelantan river, and this is Sultan Yahya Petra brigdge, one of the oldest bridges in here. |
imajica ilyanim@yahoo.com Posted Mar 27, 2008, 12:24 pm |
After shopping we go to take a closer look at the river, near the Tambatan Di Raja.
And this Grand Riverview Hotel is one of the hotels by the riverside. |
imajica ilyanim@yahoo.com Posted Mar 27, 2008, 12:26 pm |
On the way back, we stop at this Sultan Ismail Petra mosque
Or this how it looks like at front side (um, actually I am not too sure which side is front!) |
imajica ilyanim@yahoo.com Posted Mar 27, 2008, 12:33 pm |
This is one of the minaret tower. Makes my neck hurts looking that up high.
Let's come inside! This is the backside of the prayer hall And the front has the mimbar where the head leads prayers and preach. It's almost empty at this time though. Come have a look at the upper stair! This is an extra hall for prayers when more people come than usual, especially during Eid or Ramadan holy month. And view of the main hall from upstair.. |
imajica ilyanim@yahoo.com Posted Mar 27, 2008, 12:36 pm |
This is neighborhood nearby the mosque! These are typical homes you find here in the town.
|

I'm going to pursue my dream as an actor and I hope I meet all of you again in the future! |

Mukhsin has arrived safe and sound! Hope to take him out this weekend. |
iddewes Posted Aug 12, 2008, 9:16 pm |
Well, here's Mukhsin at last - sorry it has taken SOOO long!!!
He's had a pretty good time so far! Well, he settled in pretty quickly and made friends with Cheburashka, who is originally from Moscow but lives with me here in London now! We've had some pretty up and down weather, but here's Mukhsin relaxing in the garden on a nice day! One of the first things we did together was go along with my colleagues from work to Thorpe Park, a big funfair outside of London. I am not very brave and Mukhsin was too short to go on most of the rides, so mostly we just watched! Mukhsin would have liked to go on this one...but oh well... Or this one! Well we did go and watch a 3D film there...here he is with the glasses on... On the way home we walked along the Thames river a bit... It's funny, i didn't even notice that big bird then! And over towards St Pauls Cathedral, on the Millennium Bridge...it's supposed to be wobbly, but it was ok! On another day, I took him to work with me. Well it's not very interesting in my office, but nearby there is the famous Tower of London and Tower Bridge. here's Mukhsin near the Tower... This is another photo by the Tower gates where you can see new architecture behind, including a famous new building that everyone calls The Gherkin, because, well, it looks like a gherkin... And this is Traitors Gate, where traitors to the Crown used to go to the Tower by boat. There they were held in the dungeon and finally their heads were chopped off! Here he's admiring Tower Bridge, which isn't as old as the Tower (the Tower is about 800 years old, i think the bridge is about 100 or so)...it looks nice though! And another view of the Thames, with new buildings Then last weekend we visited Kew Gardens, a beautiful botanical garden in South London. Here's Mukhsin near the conservatory, which is the oldest glass building in Britain. Another view there. And there's a walkway which is WAY over the top of the trees! We went on that - wow it was high up! Well I hope you can see that Mukhsin has had a good time so far! We may be visiting a few other places soon, unfortunately the weather has got really weird again... |
iddewes Posted Aug 18, 2008, 7:54 pm |
Mukhsin and I went on a road trip with my friend Dave!
Here's Mukhsin in Dave's car...(you can see the town centre of Chippenham through the window) The first place we visited was Abbey House Gardens in the little town of Malmesbury, in the county of Wiltshire. It's a really lovely county and also has some mystical stuff, like a stone circle and some white horses carved onto hillsides. The gardens are really lovely, though...it's just some people's garden (they have an amazing old house too but you can't go in there), but they opened the garden to the public. So...here's Mukhsin enjoying himself there. Here you can see Malmesbury Abbey (an ancient church) behind Mukhsin. After that, we stopped briefly in Chippenham, but it wasn't really a very interesting town. But here's quite an old part. |
iddewes Posted Aug 18, 2008, 8:00 pm |
After that, we went on to Avebury, which is a little village right next to a really amazing big stone circle.
We stopped on the way to look at a white horse carved on the hillside though - as I said, there are quite a lot of those in the area and I don't think anyone really knows why they were put there. Avebury is a wonderful prehistoric stone circle....it's also quite mysterious! Here's Mukhsin in front of one of the stones - as you can see they are rather big! You can see a bit of the village behind him there. And here's another shot of him in the stone circle: Spotted some other cows there too! |
iddewes Posted Sep 3, 2008, 3:02 pm |
Went on a weekend trip to the seaside!
Arrived in Brighton from London by train. Here's Mukhsin in Brighton station. The town does date back hundreds of years, but it got especially popular during the reign of King George IV, in the late 18th century. The King really liked the town and he stayed there a lot before he was King, too. So a lot was built then, or during Victorian times, in the 19th century. Here's an example of some of the Victorian architecture. The weather was pretty good, but Mukhsin's first response was, 'What? This is the beach?! Where's the sand?!' Well at least the sea was there! Went out on the pier, where there are lots of fairground rides and silly coin machines where you can win prizes. We didn't do those though. The pier is pretty old although it's not the original Victorian one, that one burnt down. We even had a little paddle in the sea but the water was rather cold!!! Then we had a walk around the town. The oldest part is called the Lanes. The streets are very narrow and it's easy to get lost in there! I went on a Ghost Walk there that evening but Mukhsin was resting then so I didn't take any photos. But apparently there are lots of ghosts in there! This old wall apparently has a ghostly Nun walking through it sometimes! The guide said we might feel cold there, but I didn't really. Here's some more of Mukhsin checking out the Lanes. After that we visited the Brighton Pavilion. It was built by George IV for his weekend getaway. He really liked Oriental stuff and of course he had a lot of money, so it's really fancy, and really exotic looking!!! Unfortunately we could not take photos inside. Finally, we had a really nice meal in a vegetarian cafe that Mukhsin really liked! Oh, it's got a cow on the sign |
iddewes Posted Sep 3, 2008, 3:17 pm |
Well, back to London again!
Mukhsin will soon be on his travels again, so I thought he should visit a few more places in the city. Here he is at our house - it's not a fancy place, I'm afraid! And face to face with my housemate's cat, Shaggy Marley! Shaggy is the king of the house so he had to check out the new guest! I think Mukhsin won the staring contest though! Anyway, very early on Sunday morning we set out for central London. I thought it would be nicer to go then, because the workers will not be around like on weekdays, and it was too early for most tourists to be out of bed! I was right! It was really quiet. First we took the London Underground to Covent Garden Station. Here's the train we went on! And here is Mukhsin inside the station Covent Garden market is a really nice place to go for souvenirs and stuff, but early on Sunday, of course it was all closed. We walked from there to London's most famous square, Trafalgar Square, with the really high statue of Admiral Lord Nelson, and some lions around him which represent the British empire. Normally there are a LOT of tourists there and you can barely move!!! Here's the National Gallery in the background. There are a lot of paintings in there by really famous old artists, like Leonardo Da Vinci and Vincent Van Gogh. But of course it was closed... Also looked at St Martin in the Fields, the lovely old church there. We walked to the Admiralty Arch at one corner of the square - oh there's something about Malaysia there too... We walked through the Arch and then we were on the Mall, the road leading to Buckingham Palace, where the Queen lives. At this time it was rather misty, and starting to rain!! But it was still ok though, because it was so nice to be there when no one else was around. This is the Mall. It has flags up because I suppose the handover ceremony of the Olympic games had happened recently. Some of those flags have the Olympic logo for London in 2012 on them. Most people I know really hate that logo, it's very ugly, and I hate to say it, but most of us also think it looks like Lisa Simpson is doing something really naughty to a man!!! I didn't tell Mukhsin about that though! well, here is Buckingham Palace, I'm sorry it's not a great photo though. It's of course the Queen's main residence, although she has quite a lot. These big fancy houses nearby all have something to do with the Royal Family as well. And St James' Park is on the other side...it was very nice there in the mist, it looked very green, and there are still quite a lot of flowers out. From there we walked to Westminster. Here's the building where the Queen's horse guards live. And here is our Houses of Parliament, where our government meets. Finally...this giant ferris wheel is the London Eye. I've still never been on it though! It was closed too, but anyway it would have been too misty to get a good view. And that was that. |

What a fun weekend I had.
I visited the Big Pineapple on the Sunshine Coast at Nambour, then went to Caloundra Beach for a seafood meal. Not that cows eat seafood, but those prawns were OK. I am sad today, Sebastien and Clem are going on their travels. Now it is just me and Mister Beans. Oh wait, On Friday Luv Lion came to stay. I really like him. |

Lucy K and me Arrived to wyrdwood's house at following days. Mutant-bunny Pöpö and Marco were again 1st ones to greet the new visitors. It was raining so much in Scotland, that we had to spend the day inside.
It was also Brunswick's last day with Wyrdwood, so we were pleased to spend the day telling stories about our travels to each other. Wyrdwood's dogs and bunnies joined too, althou nöpö was the only one who could tell us from faraway places. We are going to see the area as soon as our host is feeling well enough to go outside the house. I hope I wont catch the flu |

We just managed to get some lost photo's ready so here I am visiting Shepparton and the painted cows.
There is even a MonaLisacow, an Aussiecow, a Spidercow, a Chickencow and many more. On our travels that day we came to a place called Cowabbie. |

It was Bedfrog Andy's last day with us, as wyrdwood is going to send Andy to his new home today. Nöpö wanted to teach me and Lucy K how to play Munchkin. He, and other creatures at here, loves the game. We had fun, playing games is good way to spend time on cold and rainy days like today. It has been too rainy lately. Every time I look out of the window, I see waterdrops ... oh well, That's the weather like here in Scotland.
I hope Bedfrog is going to have fun at Finland, where he is going. apparently it's even more colder there than here....hrr... |

My host moved month ago, and her life has been real chaos. She have not had money to buy new camera either. Poor girl. I have spent my time with my host's dogs and bunnies. Weather has also been really foul, so I am glad I have been inside all the time.
Today I'll travel to Finland to see my new host. I am pleased to go there, I have heard so much about wyrdwood's homecountry. I just hope i'll not freeze totally when I arrive |
