Hi mom. Its very nice here. Today my guestmom gave me a funny yellow thing for breakfast. She called it a banana. It smells so delicious. And it tastes more better. After breakfast we went out and she allowed me with Jasper (its a little moose from switzerland) to climb a tree. It was really funny. |

Hi Mom. Here i'll show you where we sleep at night. Its very warm. We sit on the terrarium of host moms snakes. They are very cute. The cornsnakes are so small. I think they are about 40 centimetres. After breakfast we made a trip to the mall. Its very hot here in Nuremberg.
Write you back soon. Lots of love, Brook |

Hi Family. Today its my last time with my new friend Jasper from Switzerland. We visited some interesting Bridges in Nuremberg. We started at the "Henkersteg". Near that is the House where in medievil times the hangman lived. After that we walked a way along the River Pegnitz. Behind us you see the Maxbrücke. A few minutes later we paused in a cute little hole in the wall at the Fleischbrücke. Its called Fleischbrücke because in middleage there was a slaughterhouse. At the next picture xou can see me at a nice fountain. I am a little bit sad because Jasper is going to America now but my guestmom told me that a new TV will arriving soon. At the end of our journey we met a big rabbit. can you see me on this picture?
Hope all is well at home. Love and hugs from yours Brook. |

First we had to prepare the vegetables. I was Chef de Cuisine ![]() ![]() Afterwards, we had to carve the pumpkin. Goodness, this was a very hard one!!! But finally we made it ![]() ![]() After this hard work we had to pause for a breath ... and for a sherry ![]() ![]() We put all the ingredients into a huge cooking pot and added several spices ![]() ![]() Finally, soup was ready and I must admit it was superb ![]() ![]() |

Hello mum,
I have well come in Karlsruhe and I am glad about the vacation. I look forward for skiing ![]() I have warmly been welcomed here by the other TV Bär Schär, Robby, Viola and Xiaoxia. Now I like it quite really well here. There was another TV coming to host-mum. Zebra fr Hansen Zebra brought all the skiing things with her. ![]() Today host-mum got a present from beelicious. She was so excited!! She is loving the small pink bear. We have played hide and seek and when host-mum found us, we all sat on the illuminated reindeer and the sledge. Greetings Brooke |

Hello mum,
yesterday, we haven't gone to Strasbourg. It was the purest snow chaos in the streets. In addition, host mum is ill. We have postponed it until next week on Wednesday now. We had nevertheless much fun. Since it has snowed so incredibly, we have a snowball fight made, a snowman built at once and zebra fr Hansen has his first ski attempts behind itself. He of course has fallen just to, however, hasn't hurt himself fortunately. After that we have warmed ourselves up in the apartment. Host mum has built up a hayrack, this one looks really terrific! Kind greetings Brook |

Hello, mum,
today we (host-mums parent, here sister and her boyfriend, Xiaoxia, Viola, Robby, Zebra fr Hansen) were in Strasbourg on the Christmas fair. It was wonderful. Everywhere it smelt of mulled wine, cinnamon, carnations, waffles, little cookies... We have sauntered through the small lanes, have eaten something and have drunk. We were also in the Strasbourger dome, but, unfortunately, there one was not allowed to fotograph. This would have become absolutely great pictures. After we were again at home, we have celebrated resignation of Xiaoxia and Robby. It was nice with the two ones. After we had celebrated, we packed our things for the ski vacation..... Soon it goes off!!! I am excited ![]() Dear greetings Brook |

Hello mum,
we (host-mum and her family, Viola, Zebra fr Hansen, Bär Schär and I) are good in Wolkenstein, South Tirol arrived. The weather is not exactly the best. From the Dolomites we do not see a lot, because it is snowing so strongly. Tomorrow I hope the weather becomes better. I am dog-tired because we have driven off already at 3 o'clock in the morning. Greetings Brook |
zauberaeffle Posted Dec 22, 2012, 12:27 pm |
Hello, mum,
today the weather was perfect. Now we have seen for the first how great it is here. I am inspired... Here the whole skiing area is giant. It is called Dolomiti Really ski and encloses 1100 kilometres. We have stayed in the area of the Sellaronda. From Wolkenstein we drove to Saint Ulrich and with reams gondola to Seceda. I cannot say you at all how breathtaking the view was there! Today it was wonderful and I am glad about the remaining days. Many Greetings Brook |

Hello mum,
Also today we had luck with the weather. It was simply dreamlike. Today we have begun in the lift which drives off behind our pension, then we have driven the world cup departure in Saint Christina down. On the opposite side we have allowed ourselves in the Gamsblut hut for the moment a rest. The view was really miraculous. I dont want go home ![]() Love Brook |

Hello mum,
Today here our last day was in South Tirol. I am so sad, it is easy so nicely here. I would still remain with pleasure. Today we have tried to go skiing. Zebra fr Hansen had brought from home skis. At none of us it has properly worked. I believe we needmuch more practise. Now you can also see how our view of the pension was. On the first day you could not see it on account of the snowfall. Dear greetings Brook |

Hello mum,
host-mum has got as a gift at Christmas - a fishing rod. She has passed just the angler's licence, therefore, we have immediately gone fishing. The weather was miraculous. We went to the quarry pond of Eggenstein Though we have caught nothing, but a lot of fun. Particularly the sundown was wonderful! Have a look at this fabolous picture from the sunset. Hi Mom,
I arrived safe and sound here. My new host found me just when they came back from a little party. What a pitty, but they all gave me a warm welcome and showed me around my new part-time-home. In the middle of the last night, my hostmom found her cat having a big wound. Therefore they went to the veterinary to see if the cat need some help to become a healthy cat again. ![]() This is the unlucky cat. We all cheered her after they came home. Maybe I'll get a better shot of her later? Later we ate some icecream. ![]() |

Biggi Posted Feb 14, 2013, 9:54 pm |
Hi Mom,
here was Carnival and I had so much to watch and learn. Carnival is here called "Fasnet". A lot of streets were decorated with old underwear or pieces of fabric. ![]() Every town has its own traditional carnival rite. One is a parade of lots of carnival groups and music groups. It was very cold when we watched the parade from the sidewalk. When a Narr (carnival figure) shouts out: "Narri!" the other people answer "Narro!" ![]() Another rite is that the mayor is giving the key to the carnival organisation for the time of "Schmotziger Dunnstig" ("sticky" Thursday) to "Aschermittwoch" ("Ashes" Wednesday). While this time the carnival revelers got the powers about the town. This key symbolises the key to the town. ![]() This is a music group. The wardrobe is often based on medival army uniforms. ![]() Many groups are in the guise of witches or people of old sagas. ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() The wardrobe is called "Häs". Some "Häs" are made of hundreds of little fabrics. ![]() ![]() Most wear wooden masks. While the parade is on, they are not allowed to show their face underneath the mask. Children often do not wear masks because these are very expensive as they are handmade. Some mothers don't wear masks too, for they won't frighten their babies. ![]() ![]() Another music group of the special kind of music called "Guggenmusik" ![]() ![]() Although most of them look evil, they are usually very kind to young children. They often give sweets to them. Like this friendly witch. ![]() Some bears: ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() As we took so many pictures I will write another update with pictures of the parade. |
Biggi Posted Feb 14, 2013, 9:58 pm |
Hi Mom,
her comes the second part of the carnival parade pictures. ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() Lots of clowns: ![]() ![]() ![]() Some carry whips and every now and then they swing to crack the whip. ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() More music groups: ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() I remember these are "Epfelschittler" (apple down shakers) ![]() ![]() Children on the parade were called "Narrensome" (Narren Samen / carnival revelers seeds). Here in Germany little children believe the babies were brought by a stork, when it has bitten the mother. ![]() ![]() These costumes were made of lots of handkerchiefs. ![]() Wolves: ![]() Chicken: ![]() ![]() Devils and critter creatures: ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() Some wear straps with bells: ![]() ![]() ![]() These whitches have birch-brooms. They are playing lots of tricks to the audience. ![]() This one fell when her (his?) broom broke ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() Goats: ![]() ![]() Elks: ![]() This one is unique. He symbolizes the oldest and biggest tree in Villingen-Schwenningen. The people called this tree "Hölzlekönig" (Wooden King). The tree was hit by a lightning twice so it's not large anymore. ![]() These were called "Schantle" which means a guy who is greedy: ![]() ![]() ![]() This female creature is called "Moosmulle" (Sorry no translation into english possible) ![]() And this one is the "Hansele" (swabian for little Hans) ![]() |

Hi
this weekend I went with the other TVs to brunch in a Café. Mom's Friend ate cake first, but we prefered a solid Brezel and bread rolls. ![]() Then we took a break and made a walk around the Café. I found this nice Clown. Probably a leftover from carnival decoration? ![]() Later we decided to eat a cake too. But there were so many different cakes, really difficult to decide which one to eat. ![]() I took a cheesecake with poppyseed. But it was a big piece so I shared it with Mushu ![]() |

Hi
on sunday I made a trip in the beautiful Black Forest with my new friends. ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() We made a break and sat down in the snow ![]() ![]() ![]() When we left you could see our prints in the snow. ![]() Lonely Black Forest farmhouses often have their own little chappels like this one on the right side. ![]() Can you believe this picture is taken just about 15 minutes later than the others? ![]() First blue sky with some sunshine, then dark sky with heavy snow falling. |
Biggi Posted Mar 4, 2013, 7:49 pm |
Hi folks at home,
since my hostmom was very ill, we didn't do sightseeing trips. But when she told us about a reciepe she found at the internet, we decided to give a helping hand. First wir cut sausages into pieces. ![]() Then we put dry spaghetti throu the pieces which was really difficult because the spaghetti tend to break if pushed to hard. ![]() When we had done all pieces, we boiled the spaghettisausages. ![]() This is how they look like, after boiling: ![]() With a little sauce topping they were very yummie. ![]() |
Biggi Posted Mar 11, 2013, 8:58 pm |
Hi
this time we made a short trip to the lake "Bodensee". Here we got a first glimpse of the lake beneath the town "Überlingen" ![]() ![]() Überlingen is a town where you can find a lot of medieval traces. You just need to be open minded. On this picture for excample, although the houses look nice and new, they are pretty old. ![]() The boats still are in winter pause. ![]() The Bodensee has clear water, lots of men (some women too) go fishing there. ![]() ![]() I found this poster which is telling the history of Überlingen. Wow, first mentioned in 770 a.c. ![]() |

Hi
this weekend our host took us with her to a handicrafts workshop. ![]() ![]() We specialized into cards making. Cards for Birthday, Mothersday or any occasion. I liked the lilac one with the sheep best. I think it's cute. ![]() |

Hi and happy easter holidays!
Hostmum bought us a chocolate rabbit. And we shared it fair like brothers and sisters. ![]() First we stripped it of the foil. ![]() Then we made pieces. One piece for me. ![]() ![]() One piece for Mushu ![]() And a little piece for Batgril. ![]() ![]() |
Biggi Posted Apr 14, 2013, 5:52 pm |
Hi,
since my host has a bad hurting lumbar vertebra, she couldn't stand or walk for a while. Therefore we didn't do any sightseeing. Today a friend drove by our place and picked us up for a little tour in the spring. We came to a town called Tennenbronn. I loved this church, which seems to be decorated for a wedding. ![]() This inn is also in Tennenbronn ![]() |
Biggi Posted Apr 16, 2013, 9:28 pm |
Hi
Today I met some dinosaur. In Trossingen was the skelleton of a dinosaur found in 1909. The Auberlehaus Museum was founded in the 1970ies. ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() And a least but not last a church in Trossingen. ![]() |

Biggi Posted May 21, 2013, 9:45 pm |
Hi,
today our host said, she would like to show us her favourite place. So we were quite excited, what it would be. The host said: "Look, there it is!" ![]() I thought, oh well, nothing special. Some trees besides a field. What makes this place to special? But then we walked closer. And we found: The "Elsenau" witch is a (Lourdesgrotte) pilgrimage chapel like Lourdes. Our host isn't very religious, but this place seems to touch here deep inside. ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() I liked this calm and peaceful place. The waterfall, the roof made the leafes of the surrounding trees. It seems lots of people believe in the blessing of this place as there were lots of candles burning, and all the fresh flowers. So this was my last update from Biggi's place and the Black Forest. Now my journey goes on to a new host. |
