Today in the afternoon we showed Hermann our favourite football stadium, the Volkspark-Stadion in Hamburg. He was very proud to be there, because our team won the match against 1899 Hoffenheim 2:0. |

WOW! Cessy from Austria invited me to visit her in Vienna! So I will go and pack my things to make my first experiences on this journey.
Maybe it´s possible to go first to Vienna and the immediately to Berlin, because Baerliner invited me too. When my mummy wants to visit the big Olympia Stadium in January she could pick me up in Berlin....I have to ask Baerliner if its possible. Now I want to look if I get a box which is big enough for me..... |

And next to Berlin to visit Baerliner if he agrees with!? |

Hi my dears at home,
i arrived after a long long trip in the dark envelope at my first station in vienna and was welcomed very heartily: my hosters are crazy for football too: i look forward to next weekend. We will visit the stadium of the footballclub rapid in vienna hütteldorf. I am already very excited. In the meantime love and kisses to you. |

Hello my dears,
i am really excited and happy! Last weekend i had a very interesting trip with my hosters to several football stadiums. First we visited the home of RAPID WIEN in vienna hütteldorf. The weather was not really pleasant, nevertheless i had much fun. You know hans krankl, michael konsel and peter schöttel? Here i could see some pictures issued at the RAPIDEUM (we only could look through the shop window) Then we entered the official fan shop of RAPID WIEN: So many things i saw there, incredible, look, so many footballs and tshirts and pennants and hundreds of other stuffs: There i also met few RAPID bears, i asked them if they would like to become toyvoyagers too, travel to hamburg and visit the fanshop of HSV but they preferred to stay in vienna ;-) Unfortunately we could not go inside the stadium, it was closed. But fot the moment i have seen enough, i am tired and happy to go to sleep. On Sunday we will make an other excursion. Send you many greetings you will meet me here soon ;-) |

Hello, here i am again with my itinerary. On Saturday i only had the mind to chill and recover from my arduous trip of Friday.
Yesterday the travelling programme includes an other visit of a football stadium in vienna. But first we went to the *Höhenstraße* (a street on the suburbs of vienna with nice fews of the city) Later we arrived at the stadium of WIENER SPORTCLUB in the 17th district. It was closed too but we had good luck. We met the groundsmen and he allowed us to get inside and look around: Yes funny, this part oft he stadium is called *Friedhofstribühne* and all the fans of WIENER SPORTCLUB take seat here. It ist he part of the platform where the *Graveyard Wien Dornbach* is located behind the walls, look: Here we are on the *Donauinsel*, in the background you can see the roof of the *Ernst Happel Stadion* (Praterstadium before 1992). It is used for football matches as well as for concerts of famous artists (for example The Rolling Stones, Pink Floyd, Herbert Grönemeyer ……) On the way back home to my hosters flat with the underground I send you all my kisses and regards |

Hello my dears,
again i had exciting days in vienna. on christmas day i had to wait a long long time to see the christmas tree: Time flies and suddenly new years eve wants to be celebrated. We had a delicious meal, a meat fondue with many sauces and other extras Later at twelve o clock i got a slug of sparkling wine orange HAPPY NEW YEAR TO YOU ALL Do you know the convention of lead pouring? It is a funny thing. You have to melt a piece of lead in a spoon over a candle and throw the liquid in a pot filled with cold water. In doing so, interesting shapes are arising. In shape and form of this figures you can guess your luck for the following year. I had made a ship. Can this mean that i will travel over the oceans in 2012??? Today we made jaunt tot he 10th district of vienna. There is the footballclub AUSTRIA WIEN at home But what a disappointment , the fan shop was closed because of inventory! I think we have to come here again next week. I send you many regards, see you (some time) |
Cessy Posted Jan 12, 2012, 1:10 pm |
Hi my dears,
today i had another fine day in vienna. My hosts and i drove again to the fanshop of the footballclub AUSTRIA WIEN in the 10 th district. I was very excited and could hardly await to arrive there. It was not allowed for me to operate the car by myself and was required to fasten the seat belts. Finally we reached our target and went in to the shop. Not only fan items i saw there but also i could visit an exhibition of the history of AUSTRIA WIEN with all the trophies and awards. See me here with the violet mascots ;-) Tomorrow i have to leave vienna to be at home in time not to fail the important football match of HSV ;-)) |
Cessy Posted Jan 12, 2012, 1:13 pm |
Hello,
today was the moment to say goodbye to my hosts and vienna. Together with the office mascot Nana i could have a look on the map for the route i will travel now Then it was time to go in to the box. Nana kissed me farewell. Few hugs and wishes for my safe trip home. Good bye vienna |

And it was sooooooo nice in Austria he told us! His first trip out of home was so exciting, no one can emagine! All these nice photos! Hermanns mother was a long time in hospital for a big operation at her back, so its al little bit late for this update. But as you can see, we took some photos at home, to show, that its here winter as its best. We want to say thank you for your great hospitality dear "Wiener"!!!And thanks a lot for all the nice gifts! We love you! |

Dear friends,
after a long time staying at home I will travel to Paderborn to visit Mefito. I´m very excited, because I never was there before. I hope, that my guest-parents are very nice to me - I think that´s normal! I will miss my family and the two cats Cindy and Gutschie, but I´m also looking forward to new experiences. |

Hallo Mummy and brother!
Today I reached Paderborn! I was very excited sitting in my dark packet, but when I came out I saw a lot of friendly faces and a "Welcome Hermann"- sign! I jumped out and showed them my little presents and especially Mefito was absolutely wild with my presents, because he is HSV football fan as well. And imagine, my hostmum's husband is HSV fan, too, so I almost felt like being at home! This afternoon Mefito and I listened to the radio and gave us a long hug: one point for Hamburg! Monday morning Mefito will start to you. All the best, yours Hermann |

Dear Mummy and brother!
Today we had to say goodbye to Tiffy, Störte and Mefito who will travel to new hosts. Mefito promised me to give you my kind regards, Mummy! Before they all crawled in their envelopes, Mefito and I decorated hostdad's car! Very nice! Best wishes, Hermann |

Hi Mum and brother!
Yesterday my hostmum and her friend had their Monday-game-day. They played "Elfenland", "Keltis" and "Kniffel", and cause I supported hostmum, she won most of the games Bye bye, Hermann |

Hallo Mummy and brother!
Yesterday I introduced myself to the old dog ladies Sally and Trixi. 16-year-old Sally is a very calm girl in contrast to 14-year-old Trixi who hided behind a cupboard when she saw a dinosaur in front of her . But when I assured her that I'm a very nice dinosaur she calmed down a bit. In the afternoon the weather was very nice, so I took the ladies out for a walk. We walked a bit and then we took a rest. Then we walked a bit and took a rest. And walked... Suddenly I saw a gigantic bird! A dinosaur bird I thought. But hostmum told me it was a turkey. Then we drove home by bike. Special greetings to Mefito, yours Hermann |
mcdaniels Posted Apr 28, 2012, 7:44 pm |
Yipiiiiieeeeh! HSV is saved and can't relegate any more!!!! Special greetings to you, Mummy, brother and Mefito who were in the football stadion today.
And today we welcomed Walt Duck, hostdad's new TV. He is a football fan as well and tomorrow we will go to the football game Paderborn:Frankfurt. Bye, yours Hermann |
mcdaniels Posted Apr 29, 2012, 8:31 pm |
Hi Mum and brother!
Today Walt Duck and I visited the football stadium of Paderborn. First I felt a bit awful about screaming "Paderborn!" instead of "HSV!", but after a few minutes, it was no problem any more. As a result of our support Paderborn won!!! All the best, Hermann |
mcdaniels Posted May 1, 2012, 9:05 pm |
Dear Mummy and brother,
today Walt Duck, Frederik and I made a nice excursion to Bad Lippspringe, a little town near Paderborn with healthy climate. In Bad Lipppspringe there are many rivers and springs with salutary water. We visited an old ruin of a castle, almost as old as a dinosaur Then we found a phone box and I called old Uwe Seeler with whom I talked about 20 minutes On the way back home Frederik wanted to take a rest in a dandelion field, cause he loves dandelion very much, and in a rape field cause of the lovely smell. And on a playground we tested the whole equipment...very funny! And imagine, Mum, in Neuenbeken, hostmum's home village, I discovered a HSV flag!!! In this province! Hope, you're fine, think of you and send you forget-me not, yours Hermann |
mcdaniels Posted May 5, 2012, 2:45 pm |
Hi Mum and brother!
Today we said goodbye to Frederik who started to his first journey. He was very happy to travel to Finland! He crawled into a film box and then together with his pilgrim shell into his envelope. Goodbye and good luck, old guy! And today evening Walt Duck and I'll go to Paderborn and visit the spring festival. Unfortunately it's cold and rainy, but hostmum says we shall imagine that we go to Christmas fair Best wishes, love you! Yours Hermann |
mcdaniels Posted May 6, 2012, 11:15 am |
Dear Mum and brother!
Though it was cold it was a fantastic evening at the spring festival in Paderborn. First I ate a gigantic piece of pizza and then Walt Duck and me rocked at a live concert of the band "Luxuslärm". Best wishes, yours Hermann |
mcdaniels Posted May 7, 2012, 5:02 pm |
Hi!!
Yesterday evening we went to a Spanish restaurant. First Walt Duck and me read the whole menu. After quite a long time we could decide and wow! Very delicious! Though hostmum is a vegetarian she understood that a dinosaur sometimes needs some meat And the dessert: yummy! And then we played skat for the rest of the evening. Hope you are fine, yours Hermann |
mcdaniels Posted May 13, 2012, 6:09 pm |
Dear Mum and brother!
What a football weekend!!! Yesterday we watched the cup final on TV: Dortmund-Bayern. And the BVB won!!! Hostmum, born in Dortmund, was so happy and hostdad, Walt Duck and me, too, though we aren't BVB-fans. We celebrated half the night together with BVB-duck and the budgies, named Borus and Sia. Today we went to hostmum's parents, celebrating Mother's Day and the BVB again, cause hostmum's mum was born in Dortmund as well. We gave her BVB-pot clothes as a present! After lunch I visited the garden...all the flowers...and suddenly I discovered a tortoise and a crocodile! We had a very good time! And we got to know Little Giraffe, a very nice guy! Then we watched the arrival of the BVB team on TV. Wow!! Hope you are fine, love you, yours Hermann |
mcdaniels Posted May 20, 2012, 4:59 pm |
Dear Mum and brother!
Yesterday evening we went to hostmum's parents watching the Champion's League final. Before watching we fortified ourselves with asparagus, potatoes and strawberries, and then the game started. Though hostmum is German she wanted Chelsea to win, cause FC Bayern is disliked in her whole family. I agreed on this point and so we all were happy about this end of the football season. And now we're looking forward to the EM! Best wishes, yours Hermann |
mcdaniels Posted May 21, 2012, 8:52 pm |
Hi Mum and brother,
today Walt Duck and me made a sightseeing tour to Paderborn by bike. First we had breakfast in a nice cafe, very important on such a tour! Then we visited the city with many sights: the cathedral, the townhall, the Neptun fountain and the "Window of the three hares", Paderborn's special attraction. Another feature is the Pader river with 200 sources, but with 4 km German's shortest river. We met a nice old washing woman who let us sit on her arms. And imagine, there is a Hermann street in Paderborn! Wow! After all these sights I needed some refreshment and - as luck would have it- I met a comfort goat that let me drink some milk... Very nice tour!! Love you, yours Hermann |
mcdaniels Posted May 28, 2012, 6:10 pm |
Dear Mummy and brother!
When hostdad's TV Störte came home we first had some difficulties, because he is St.Pauli fan, imagine, Mum, St.Pauli!!! Störte had the very good idea to drink some Rum together to ease of the situation...and as you can see it worked! After a short time of recovery, Störte, Walt Duck and me played game of dice. Best wishes, yours Hermann |
mcdaniels Posted Jun 3, 2012, 1:00 pm |
Dear Mum and brother,
yesterday hostmum, her friend and me visited Düsseldorf, capital of North Rhine-Westphalia. First we drove by bus to the railway station and then by train to Düsseldorf. It was very interesting to look at the landscape and the different cities. The train stopped in Dortmund, too, hostmum's hometown. In Düsseldorf we saw the house of government, first we stand in front of it and then we visited from above, because we had entered the television tower. Wow!!! A bird's-eye view of Düsseldorf at a height of 168 metres!!! Back on earth hostmum and her friend made a long shopping tour...very boring... But after hours they had enough of that and so we relaxed in a sunny cafe Back home we all were very tired and felt asleep immediately. All the best, yours Hermann |
mcdaniels Posted Jun 6, 2012, 5:50 pm |
Hi Mummy and brother!
Today we welcomed Konsta, a nice little bear from Finland. When hostmum came in with the envelope we were very excited...who will crawl out? Then we saw Konsta and we liked him right away, especially Nick and Störte, the other two bears in our group. Konsta showed us his postcard and his journey book into which he will write his adventures. Unfortunately we will have only two days together, because I want to watch the EM at home together with you and so I will leave on Friday. I think my friends here and me will have two nice last days and nights... All the best, yours Hermann |
mcdaniels Posted Jun 8, 2012, 7:00 pm |
Dear Mum and brother,
today we had a farewell day, because it was my last day in Paderborn. First we went for a farewell walk and later we had a farewell football match: Störte and me against Konsta and Walt Duck! We had a lot of fun and I'm sad a bit, because tomorrow I'll leave my friends here in Paderborn. See you soon, yours Hermann |

And now it's time to say goodbye!
It was a very nice time and even the St.Pauli fan Störte was a nice friend! All the best for you, my friends! And now: I'm coming hoooooome!!! |

Hi fans and friends!
I was very lazy the last weeks I know....There happened so much new things! The most important for me is, that my Mum is not ill anymore. But it is not so easy, she didn´t walk much because she got a lot of hurts at her back and in the legs. Now she´s dependent on unknown help. Sometimes she needs two crutches (if it´s the right word?)! I was with her and my buddy Bullseye in hospital for an operation, there we made some pictures. The next days I will update my travelog in the right way! Best wishes, Hermann |

We're here!
Bullseye and I arrived safe and sound at his house in Minnesota, USA. Host mom has two cats. Otto and I became buddies right away. Host mom had a lot of studying to do, so we said we'd help! Whew! Studying is a lot more work than I thought! Hopefully we can visit a few stadiums while I'm here! |
Jillyfish Posted Oct 3, 2012, 5:31 pm |
Today we are going to a Twins baseball game! Hooray!
The Minnesota Twins are very popular here, and we are taking the train from the upper suburbs down to Minneapolis. The train goes right to the Target Field station! Let's buy our tickets! It's about $3.00 one way per person. Okuma and I are SO excited! Waiting for the train to arrive. We liked this little sign. Clever use of advertising. Let's sit here! These are comfy seats. Bullseye and I are watching the world go by. I'm stuck to the window of the train! Hahaha! Host mom holds us close as more passengers get on-- there's only standing room now-- there are lots of people going to the game tonight! The view is rather pretty. Whoa, guys, whoa! There's Minneapolis! And the Mississippi River! We're here! Let's go, guys! Here's the outside of Target Field, the Twins Stadium. It was redone a couple of years ago-- so very new! Cool! Look at this field! I wonder where our seats are...... Host mom made sure to get lots of pictures of me and the field. Getting closer to our section-- we are in 103. Here it is! We found it! This is the view from the top of our section. Okay... row 21, seat 16. Whoa! Host mom's camera can zooooom! Can you see the big screen? We got here a little early, but that's okay. Yum! We got our nachos in a souvenir Twins hat! How neat! Bullseye and I are sharing. Game hasn't started yet, but lots of people have arrived. Players are starting to come out on the field! :O While waiting, we went up to the top deck to get some good photos. Group shot! I think it's starting!!! Quick-- back to our seats! The Twins mascot is this guy= We're about half way through the game. Twins are winning 1-0. Half-time munchies: yummy mini-donuts! C'mon guys! You can do it! Let's go, team! Wow! What an amazing game! Twins won 2-0! The team is leaving the field. *yawn* Time to ride the train back home and sleep..... Thanks for the souvenir pin, Bullseye! This is a game I will always remember. |

It's cold and gloomy outside today.....
and it's also..... SNOWING!!! (It's hard to see because the snow isn't sticking to the ground, but it really is snowing!) We are staying inside today and helping Host Mom create her Halloween costume. I'm a really good helper! She's going to be a postcard! We are saying farewell to Noodles today, too. So this is his going away party! Safe travels! We also went to see an American Football game! Wait for my update-- we had lots of fun! Miss you both very much! ~Hermann |
