My name is TenderheartBear that was my name as a larger Care Bear now I'm a much smaller version and I'm ready to see the world! I'd love to learn more about the world and see the beautiful things that the world gives us. There's so much hatred and there's no where near as much love in the world as there should be and I'd like to show people the beautiful parts of the world.

Especially my mentor, she seems to be going through a very hard time in her life and I'd love to show her that the world is more beautiful than she can imagine. Would you like to show me and my mentor? I'd love that! Just contact Sara and she'll have me pay a visit to you as well! I'm going to be off traveling very soon, I hope the traveling won't take too long as I'm quite excited about getting off and seeing the world!

Talk again soon mom, I can't wait to write again!

Hi - I just arrived in Singapore - which is very warm and humid. I was sitting in the mailbox when my host came home from work. It was quite dark in the mailbox but comfortable as I was sitting on some wedding invitation replies !!

I am just taking some time to look around.  There are lots of rooms in this house and it would take weeks to explore. I'm just aclimatising before I go much further.

There is lots of wildlife in the indoor garden - which I can see from my perch on the kitchen table. There are birds during the day, baby frogs, koi carp, and in the evening frogs, lizards and lots of bats.

I will be visiting the beach and the jungle this week !! Hurray.

I also get to see wild animals everyday which is pretty cool

Hi - I am in the mini-jungle that is the indoor garden in my hosts' house and with the Koi Carp. They are huge

We are checking out the spirit house in my hosts garden. It was bought from Bangkok Thailand - unfortunately it is in the shade of the main house :(

Thai people believe that there are guardian spirits for different buildings or areas of land. These spirits are wandering spirits that can cause harm or suffering unless gifts are offered to them frequently. It is believed that they influence the future, grant wishes and keep people healthy. The spirit of the land expects to be informed if a building is to be built or extended, or a business started. If the humans do not ask permission, the spirit may cause the venture to fail.

There are nine guardian spirits, each offering a different type of protection. The guardian spirit of houses is called Phra Chaimongkhon (say prah chigh-mong-kon) and is a very powerful spirit. The guardian spirit of gardens and orchards is Phra Than Thirat (say prah tan ti-rat). These two are the only ones to have permanent spirit houses built for them.

Outside each building, big or small, there is a spirit house where the spirits of the house or building live. There are spirit houses near restaurants, caves, and forests and even cities. Most ordinary spirit houses are about the size of a large bird cage standing on a pedestal, though some big buildings have very large and fancy walk-through spirit houses.

A spirit house must not be in the shade of the main building.
The inside of the spirit house is decorated with figurines representing the spirits, holding a sword and a book.
There are usually figures of servants and elephants.
Each day people place flowers, incense and food as offerings to the spirits to keep them in good humour.

An old or damaged spirit house must not be thrown away, but must be placed where other spirits will watch over it, at the foot of a sacred banyan tree or at a wat .

There is even a large spirit house for the whole of Bangkok (the white and gold multi-roofed building left). Once a year the king places offerings in it to ensure continued good fortune for the city.

Greetings from Portugal!

I’ve arrived safely after almost 4 days of travel! It took some time but I enjoyed every minute of it – I had a travel buddy, Lucy K! I loved it!

After being so long in Belgium I was astonished to experience the very warm weather of Portugal! Today the thermometer showed 26 ºC (79 ºF) which is a lot at this time of the year!

My new host, Carina, only arrived at 6 PM, so we only had time to take a couple of photos at her backyard before the sunset!

I think I’m in love with her lemon tree! Did you know these lemons grow without any chemicals? I hope I get the chance to taste them on a portuguese meal any time soon!!!

Now I’m off with Carina and Lucy K to plan some exciting activities for the next few days!
See you soon!

Posted Mar 17, 2009, 9:51 pm

Today was mail day at Carina’s!!!

I met two new Toyvoyagers friends!!! They are staying with us for some time! This is their first trip so we all met to decide what to do next!

Carina works with children (she is a soon to be Kindergarten teacher) and I’m hoping she takes us to visit her classroom!!!

See you soon!

Posted Mar 22, 2009, 7:07 pm
Hi everybody!

In the last few days I was able to rest from the big trip. Yesterday we didn’t go out but we took the time to enjoy a little of homecinema.

We all helped Carina making butter flavored popcorn!

The movie was really funny! We watched Robert Downey Jr. and his great performance on “Iron Man”.

See you soon!

Posted Mar 22, 2009, 7:32 pm

Today I woke up very early! We planed a little trip to Belém – a historical and cultural place much appreciated by the tourists.

To get there we had to take the bus! We sat together and enjoyed the trip.

At some point I just had to take a peek out of the window and enjoy the view.

As soon as we reached Belém we visited the CCB (Cultural Centre of Belém) and we explored all the museum.

There’s a picture of me with a piece of art from Berardo’s Collection!

After the museum we made a quick stop at Belém’s Starbucks and the famous house of the “Pasteis de Belém”.
We returned home by car and we even had time to take some pictures on the way!

The Pasteis de Belém were great – with a little cinnamon and icing sugar – one of the best thing I ever tasted!

After the big day we took a nap  :)

I tell you more of my adventures soon!

Posted Apr 8, 2009, 12:33 pm
Hey everybody!

Sorry for the long time without news. Carina has been sick and we have been helping her get better. She is feeling alright now!

Today arrived two more little friends and now we are a family of six! Look at the great photo Carina took us!

We have already watched a movie together – Get Smart  - and we had a great time.

Carina told me a little secret…. Thursday we are all going on a trip! Yes! We are going to visit one of the most beautiful cities in Portugal – Leiria! The trip takes one and an half hours by car so in the way I can get to know Carina’s family, Carina and my new friends!

I hope Thursday arrives soon!

See you soon.

Posted May 1, 2009, 12:19 pm
Hi everybody!
Sorry for the late news! Carina had a little problem but everything its all right now!

Here are some photos of me and my fellow Toyvoyagers in our trip to Leiria!

This is me, preparing for the trip! Safety first – seat bet is on!

A little moment to look at the view… not much at this speed!

The morning after the trip – a little journey to the town center! This is me and my new friends at “Luis de Camões” garden. Luis de Camões it’s a well know Portuguese poet.

We sat and got some sun… and we even played hide and seek! Look! Is that Lucan?!

Finally we had a little time to take a picture with Leiria’s Caslte behind us!

It was a really nice trip and I hope for more real soon!

Posted May 26, 2009, 7:41 pm

I finally arrived safely  to Santiago de Compostela!, I hope you were not too worried about me =D.

María welcomed me warmly even though she was just leaving to go to class. She was very nice and let me go with her, and then I decided to take some pictures there, so you can see one of the buildings of the University of Santiago de Compostela :).

I met some friends there,  by the way :)

Well, I just wanted to let you know that I'm OK and that María has just told me that she's going to take good care of me :).

I'll write you soon! Love,

Posted Jun 1, 2009, 6:20 pm

Today I have some pictures I took when I visited Irene (Maria's bestfriend) at her hometown Caldas de Reis, which is, by the way, near Pontevedra and is mostly famous for its thermal springs. Irene told me that Caldas de Reis is a town with Prehistoric, Roman, Medieval and also Modern history (the first known settlers were, in fact, two groups of natives discovered by the Romans when they conquered the town: the Cilena Tribe).

Anyway, I went there with María, my two TV friends Bally and Baubles, and the best tourist guide ever, Irene! and I had lots of fun :D

Hello, hello!

Today's raining again so I'm at home watching some movies with my friends Baubles and Bally while María is studying (she has her first exams next week!).

I do have some pictures I took when I went for a walk the day before yesterday, though. I visited Santiago de Compostela's cathedral among other places! Hope you like the pictures  :D

I'm not sure if you will be able to see me in the next picture but I'm there! :)

A picture with Santiago's cathedral (sorry it was cloudy and couldn't take a better one)

And I also visited the City Hall of Santiago, known as "Pazo de Raxoi" (pazo is a Galician word which means palace).

María's highschool (well, one of them, since she went to three different highschools...)

In the next picture you can see the "Puerta Santa" (Holy Door), which gives access to the Cathedral from the "Plaza de la Quintana" and is opened on 31st December on the eve of each Holy Year, and walled up again a year later! :)

Lots of love from Spain!  ;)

Posted Jun 13, 2009, 3:07 pm
Hello mom!

We have a heat wave here in Northern Spain and María is not happy at all because she cannot take us to the beach until her exams are finished!. I feel sorry for her...we are sunbathing while she studies, poor thing  :stare:

Anyway, this doesn't mean that I'm not having fun, in fact, I went for a walk with my TV friends and visited this park called "La Alameda", which is very nice. This place is very well-known by young people because it is the meeting place to do the "Botellón" --I don't think I'm visiting this place while the "Botellón" takes place though, because María stopped doing it years ago (she doesn't agree with wikipedia and thinks "Botellón" is for teenagers). Oh! And we met some "cemented people" (sorry if the expression doesn't exist but I really don't know how to express what they were  ).

Love u!

Posted Jun 19, 2009, 11:49 pm
Hey mom!

How's everything? I'm doing fine even though today I'm quite sad because a good friend is leaving, Bally. However, we did enjoy our last day together and had a lot of fun in Portugal as you can see in the pictures =D.

I'll write again soon. Love u!

Posted Jul 1, 2009, 8:28 am
Hi mom!

Hope you weren't worried about me because, in spite of the lack of updates these days, I've been having a lot of fun and I'm perfectly fine. However, I couldn't take as many photos as I would have liked because María was afraid I could be lost in the last parties I went if she had let me out of her backpack. Anyway, I thought you may like to see some pictures of one of the last parties I went even though I'm not in them =)

Oh, by the way, this party is called "Noche de San Juan" here in Spain, and it is basically the celebration of the longest day of the year. Have you ever heard about this tradition? =D

I'll write again soon. Hugs!

after a while in this dark envelope I have arrived at my new hosts house. I wasnt sure what to expect from the two TV's, especially as one of them is royalty but they have both been very welcoming. Looking forward to my trip to malta next week but for now i think i am going to have some food followed by a nap!
bye for now!

Posted Aug 4, 2009, 4:47 pm
Here we are in Malta! I am very excited to be here!!

Posted Aug 4, 2009, 5:00 pm
Today we are all sight seeing in the capital - Valletta. There is much to see and do here so I cant wait to get started!
Here we are with some horses in the backround - it seems Spadge was a little to quick to take the picture here as the other two TV's can hardly be seen here! You can get trips around the city in these horse and carts but we were worried that the horses might be too hot in this heat!
A toy musuem!! How exciting! Shame its not open
A well earned break with coffee and beer! (I had the coffee!)
We tried to get a good photo of me with the flag of Malta in the backround but the wind was blowing the wrong way so this was as good as we could get! I still think it counts towards my mission though
I was a little scared Spadge might drop me here - it was very high up!

Posted Aug 4, 2009, 5:04 pm
Here we are back in Valletta! Theres lots to see!
And here we are with Shaun - our Maltese host.

Posted Aug 4, 2009, 5:07 pm
Just round the corner from where we are staying is the Mosta dome - it's a very big and beautiful building.

Posted Aug 4, 2009, 5:10 pm
On the way to the beach! Yippee!
We had fun on the beach but we kept out of the sea as we didnt want to get swept away!

Posted Aug 13, 2009, 4:49 pm
Today we were looking forward to going out in the sun but he sun has decided to go in for a while so we are going to investigate the kitchen.

We made some coffee which is actually rather nice. It has made me a little hyperactive though!

I found it a little hard to reach the mug so the other two helped me out!
Thought it might be fun to weigh each other...
Not sure who was heaviest, think we are all pretty light!

Now im a little peckish...its cold in here though!

The sun has come out finally! Ive warmed right up after being in the fridge!
The cats are all called bob and they live outside.
there are quite a few plants out here

Time for a little reading..

On second thoughts I may just sun myself instead!

Hello !
Finally ! I just reached my new destination ! And here I am, in Paris !
I haven't visited yet, but judging by the view from the window, and the nice church which is just behind Val's place, it sounds like a good trip.
She promised me we will go and visit the city tomorrow !

Posted Sep 24, 2009, 3:40 pm
Sorry I haven't wrote before, but I was really busy visiting !
Yesterday we stayed near val's neighbourhood, but today we went all the way across Paris !
Let me show you some pictures !

You can see me with another church ! they're lots of them around here, and this one was quiet big !
Then we went to the Bastille place, it was formely a prison, but gor destroyed, and now they're a huge statue in the middle of the place, and an opera. Paris has 2 operas, one old and one new, this is the new and I don't find it really beautiful !
But it was nice to see anyway.
Then we went back home, and stopped at the open air market on the way. they're many things in there that looks so good ! Made me hungry !

Posted Sep 24, 2009, 4:14 pm
New visit day today !
We started to go back to the Bastille Place where we went yesterday, but on the other side, where you can see me at the canal harbour.
Lots of boats, and people are living in most of them all year round in paris. That sounds nice :D
Then we crossed the Seine, which is a river that goes right in the middle of the city, and cut in in 2.
we arrived in a big park, known as "plants garden". The big building on the back is the natural history museum. They're also a zoo there, I saw some kangaroos that made me a bit homesick, but then I realised I am so lucky to travel, while they're locked in a park, so I should enjoy every minute of it !
then after Australia, going to Africa with the biggest mosquee of Paris. Really nice, especially under the sun !

Today is a nice a sunny day ! Time to go to the canal. Val loves this place ! Have you seen the movie Amelie ? Some parts of it takes place there !
Then we went to an old hospital, which is not used anymore, but it's really beautiful, and there's lots of grass and nice spots to sit and rest !

Today was exhausting ! But I got to see all the major places in Paris !
We started with the sacre coeur basilica, which is on top of a hill, with a great view on all the city.
Then we saw seom other parts of the hill, where you still can see a wineyard, with some wine made there everyyear. yes, in the middle of the city !
This place used to be covered with windmills. And old one is still there, and of course the most known one : the moulin rouge ! ( which means the red windmill).  But it's not an authentic one !

Then we went to the other side of Paris, near the Louvre museum, which has a nice garden !
Saw the concorde place, the Champs elysees, the triumph arch.
then went to the Eiffel tower ! Did you know that they're 3 statues of liberty in Paris ! Because the sculptor is French, and it was a gift from France to the USA !
After that long day, we went back home and rest !
more to see the next days !

Just a bit of culture today, we went to the Beaubourg museum, which is the Paris modern arts museum.
The building looks a bit weird, but interesting !
