Hello,
my name is Troddy Trafalgar. Trafalgar is not my surname, it's just my second name, so you can call me Troddy, or Trafalgar, or Troddy Trafalgar, as you like My TV-name is Trafalgar, cause I needed 16 characters to type Troddy Trafalgar and I had only 15. My story is not long.. First.. Well, I don't really want to speack about what was first.. But then I was resqued. In the US, Oregon. By BunTraveler and got to know Gracy, they both helped me to find a new home in another land - in Russia. I travelled here with a very funny small bear, so it was not so boring. When I came to kristl, I got to know her friend Stanislav, he was really glad to become my mentor - so I became a ToyVoyager. I got a tag, an ID and now I have my own Travelog. I think I'll tell you a bit more about me and my mission, but now it's quite late, kristl and Stanislav are going to sleep and I don't want to bother them typing too loud. I think I'll stay a week or two here in Russia, cause in fact I don't even know this land that is now my homeland. I want to learn more. Let's think that it's my first destination as a TV. Then I hope to find hosts and travel to other countries. If you have any questions or just want to tell me something, please fell free to pm kristl, be sure she'll show me your message and I'll answer. Here I'm sitting on Kristl's desk: And here I'm with the ToyVoyager Calendar! |
kristl Posted Apr 20, 2008, 1:30 pm |
At Kristl's place I met an Elephant that became dear to me:
Her name is Ann and she came from another Russian city Naberezhnye Chelny where she was created. First she was adopted by Kristl, but she's going to be adopted for the second time -cause Kristl is going to present her to a friend. This woman is fond of Elephants and loves them very much! If not this this Elephant could become a ToyVoyager |
kristl Posted Apr 20, 2008, 1:36 pm |

kristl Posted Apr 20, 2008, 1:42 pm |
Today Kristl and her friend rid bikes, we went with them! Andcan you guess what we've seen???
FLOWERS!!!! The first flowers here!!!! The're called coltsfoot All the TVs were so happy!! |
kristl Posted Apr 20, 2008, 1:45 pm |
Today Berlin Bear, Kristl's first TV, and Helen Bear - a love bear girl left us. We went to the the post office with them to say Good Bye. We wish them all the best during their journeys.
Now I'm thinking of starting my own journey soon. |

Hello !
I arrived today at Fabi's house. When I arrived, she wasn't at home. I lied in my envelope and slept, when something happened. The envelope was opened and Amelie and Wauzi looked inside. I was saying Hello and they welcomed me very warm. Now I am tired. I arrived timely, because tomorrow we will go to a festival. I can tell you, I think it will be fun. We looked at the website and it seems to be a funny festival. I hope you will have a lot fun tomorrow, too ! Troddy |
BlackCat Posted May 4, 2008, 8:34 pm |
Hello !
Today we were on the way to a festival. I will show you photos of there, later. We had a lot of fun while driving there. At a resting area we made some photos in the car. I want to show you ! Troddy |
BlackCat Posted May 4, 2008, 8:51 pm |
Hello !
Today we visited a Middle Age festival. Fabi wore a dress like a maid-of-honour in this time. She looked good. You can see her on one of the photos we made. She is the girl left from us in the black dress. We saw a Knight's tournament. But we stood last row, so we don't have photos with me of the tournament. But after the tournament we made photos of the place with us. The people starred at us and Fabi began to laugh. They looked really funny ! We saw a windmill, too. It was in the middle of the festival place and we loved it. You can see it on the photos ! Have a nice day, Troddy |
BlackCat Posted May 9, 2008, 8:03 pm |
I am so sorry, that I didn't update this week. It was such a great weather, but the camera is broken !
Hopefully it will be fixed soon, because we will go to an other festival tomorrow. Cross your fingers for us, Troddy |
BlackCat Posted May 10, 2008, 12:35 pm |
Hello !
Today the camera works again and we made some photos of the new guest Chocolate Moose, who arrived some minutes ago. Right in time, because we will go to the next festival in a few minutes. Hope you have a sunny day, Troddy |
BlackCat Posted May 10, 2008, 9:41 pm |
Hello out there !
We are back from the Middle Ages festival now. We had so much fun there. You can't imagine it. All the people were so nice and we made a lot photos for you. I learnt how to fly and I met a lot of nice people. I was allowed to sit in a selfmade cage. It was nice. I hope you will like the photos ! Troddy in front of the castle Broich, where the festival was Can you see me? I'm flying <3. |

Happy Mothersday, Mummy!
We had wonderful weather today, so we went into the garden and played Hide and Seek. I had to hide me, so I try to find a good hideout. You can see, where I hide myself ! They were searching really long for me. But it was funny. After that, I layed down in the sun and took a nap. It was so warm. Thinking of you, Troddy |
BlackCat Posted May 17, 2008, 12:09 pm |
Hello mummy,
when you read this I am already on my way to the next host. I am scared, but I think I will survive the travel and I will arrive soon and in a good condition ! Amelie leaves with me today, but we have a different direction to travel...maybe we will meet again. I said goodbye to everyone except Wauzi. He was not at home when I have to go ! Fabi said, I will have not a long travel, so I hope this is true. Cross your fingers for me. Troddy |

Hi mom!
Here's a quick note to let you know that I arrived safely at my new host Charda. Actually, I already arrived yesterday, but she was at work then so they delivered me today. I was so relieved that she was at home now, otherwise it would have taken even longer. And it wasn't such a long flight, but sitting in an envelope isn't the most comfortable way to travel! Charda already told me she's going to take me to Trafalgar Square in June! I'm so excited about this. Here you can see me getting out of the envelope. I am welcomed by Yolanda, Mira and Sylphide. And here's a nice group picture. We'll talk soon, mom! |
Charda charda1982@gmail.com Posted May 22, 2008, 8:25 pm |
My host decided to show me the Netherlands today. I'm glad the journey to here wasn't that long and I was happy to be outside. We went to a park in The Hague called Clingendael. It's quite a big park with lots of flowers and trees and with a Japanese garden. Well, you'll see it in the pictures. This is me in front of the most typical Dutch animals: cows.
I was glad we didn't take the picture from that close. The cow looked like he was ready to eat me! Even though we were pretty late in the season, the flowers were still very pretty. Just look at this goose and its children. Very cute, right? I'm sitting on the stump of a tree. I feel like I'm in the middle of nature This is the sign at the entrance to the Japanese Garden. It is only opened a few months a year, so it's quite special that we were there. This stork stood perfectly still for a very long time. Charda tells me that storks are the signature birds of The Hague. After the tour through the park we begged Charda to have some time to play. She gave in and the four of us got to play together. This is me with Mira, Jason and Sylphide. After playing with the ball we just lay down for a little while. There wasn't much sun to sunbathe in, but it was nice and comfortable, also because we were tired from walking through the park and playing with the ball. |

Hi mom!
Here's a quick update to say that I'm all right. I'm still a little intimidated by all the folks here in the house, but they are very nice to me. They even showed me some websites about the navy and about old boats. It was so cool! |
Charda charda1982@gmail.com Posted May 24, 2008, 5:47 pm |
This morning we accompanied our host Charda to the supermarket. We didn't take any pictures there, but here is a picture of us in the rental car.
In the afternoon we were quite bored, until Yolanda came up with a great idea. "Let's play hide and seek!" she said. All of us were very excited and eager to participate. "Where is Troddy? He has to join us as well!" "There he is, reading a magazine. Something about history it seems. Let me see if I can convince him to play along with us." "Come on Troddy, get your nose out of the books and play with us!" *sigh* "Well, okay then." Trafalgar joined the others. They decided that Yolanda was the one who would try to find the others. "One, two, three, four, five, six, seven, eight, nine, ten. Ready or not, here I come!" "I think I see Jason already." "Yes, that's him. Why did you hide there, Jason?" "Well, I couldn't see you, so you couldn't see me, right?" "I don't think the teapot is supposed to look like that. I think I found Mira!" "Aw, you found me so quickly. I thought I had a nice hiding place." "Let me continue my search. Hey, that looks like Sylphide's wing!" "Yep Sylphide, found you! "Your wing was sticking out of the drawer." "Yeah, I thought I felt something, but I had to be quick and quiet." "Okay, now let's find Troddy Trafalgar. Where would I be able to find him? Hey, that book is not supposed to be there!" "Just what I thought: a book with a fuzzy creature behind it! "Up here Troddy!" "Hmm, too bad you already found me. I was enjoying that book. I love Dickens " "Well guys, that wasn't too difficult. I found all of you. I think that means..." "that I won!" |
Charda charda1982@gmail.com Posted May 25, 2008, 11:25 pm |
Yesterday we had taco's for dinner. I believe these originate in Mexico and are based on corn. Nothing Dutch in there I think. What was really great though, was that this afternoon they showed Bleak House on TV. Remember, the book I was reading yesterday? It was so great to watch the BBC adaptation. I love these costume dramas. And this afternoon, while watching TV, I got these delicious snacks. These are Dutch and they are called 'bitterballen'. |
Charda charda1982@gmail.com Posted Jun 1, 2008, 12:59 pm |
Since my host had to work all week, there haven't many updates this week. And unfortunately, next week will be the same. But we did something this week. On Wednesday we went to The Hague. First we ate at Burger King.
After that we walked past the 'Binnenhof'. This is where the government convenes, so this is where all the decisions are being made. Today I finished one of my life missions. I learnt about Lord Nelson, the Battle of Trafalgar and the Royal Navy. Here you can see me with the books I read about it. My host brought these books from the library especially for me. This is a picture of Lord Nelson. And this is a map of what Trafalgar Square looks like nowadays. And this is where I will be going in about three weeks time! Now I'm even more looking forward to the journey there! |
Charda charda1982@gmail.com Posted Jun 5, 2008, 12:04 am |
Hi!
Here's a real quick update to show that I am still alive and doing well! Like she said, my host has to work all week, but here are some pictures to show you I am still fine! These are the cards my host is going to send to fellow Postcrossers. I thought the pictures were quite interesting. They do show something of this country and its history, albeit about children and toys. And today two new friends arrived! They are not ToyVoyagers, at least not yet, and they are here to stay! My host got them on the forum and in return sent two bears to Threadbear in South Africa. Here are the two friends that came crawling out of the envelope. And this is a group picture of all of us together. The cat took an immediate liking to Jason. I do think they look alike. Both cat-like, both the same posture... |

Hi!
Here's an unexpected update. Today another TV-friend arrived, a true TV this time! Her name is Ceryni. These are our first pictures together: |

Hi!
Last night we watched a movie together with our host. It was a BBC miniseries about the life of Charles II. Here you can see us watching it. I really liked watching this movie. It was so interesting! I had never seen anything about his life, so I thought it was amazing to see what he might have looked like and what the courts looked like in his lifetime - during his time in England that is. Unfortunately the others couldn't appreciate it the way I did, so they fell asleep. Well, I watched it until the end! And tonight we helped our host assemble the envelopes for a Postcrossing Round Robin. Just look at all those envelopes with tea! I'm just glad that I won't be leaving yet in one of those! |
Charda charda1982@gmail.com Posted Jun 9, 2008, 9:48 pm |
Yesterday evening we had lasagne for dinner. This is us around the dish
Today my host had an exam in Leiden at the University of Leiden. It was an exam in Philology, English in Transition. Something about literature from Old English into the Middle English period. I got to come with her, but of course my host couldn't take pictures at the university or at the exam. This is me in front of a statue of Rembrandt. The famous painter Rembrandt was born in Leiden, so that's why you see many statues of him throughout the city. Here's some more proof that I was in Leiden. This is me at the railway station on the way back to home; my host's home that is. This is the hospital of Leiden. It's an academic hospital. And this is another view from the railway station. They have quite comfortable seats in these Dutch trains No, I didn't drink this beer. It was actually an empty beercan that was left in the train. I thought it was nice to show you a typical Dutch beer. Since the can was empty, my host threw away the can after she had taken the picture. This is a view from the train. I thought it was a typical Dutch view with lots of grass and no hills When I came home, I quickly joined the others in front of the TV. There was a football match on TV. It's a very important match between Italy and the Netherlands in the European Championship. None of us are usually in favour of the Netherlands, but since we're here, we'll try our best Our host's boyfriend said we should drink beer while watching soccer. We looked at the bottle and we decided against it. This bucket of ice cream looked much more attractive than that bottle of beer! The Dutch team won from Italy with 3-0! Everyone is really excited here! Except for my host, because she hates soccer. But everyone on the streets is yelling and shouting and singing, and cars are honking. I'm quite excited the match ended this way! |

Today a new TV arrived! He's a little dog and his name is Moony! He is just in time for our trip to London, so he's a very lucky guy!
Here's our group picture. Well, tomorrow we're going to pack and then on Monday we'll be flying to England! How exciting! |
Charda charda1982@gmail.com Posted Jun 21, 2008, 11:21 pm |
Okay, here's a really short update. All of us have arrived safely in the Netherlands today. We had a great week in London and we have seen quite a few famous landmarks. Our host says she'll update the pictures within a few days, but that might take a while, because there are so many
Here's all of us in the hotel room. We'll talk later! Ps: Small spoiler here: I visited Trafalgar Square and we took lots of pictures there! I'm so happy! |
Charda charda1982@gmail.com Posted Jun 22, 2008, 6:30 pm |
Today is the big day! We're travelling to London, England! This plane is not the one we were flying with, but it is a nice Dutch plane here at Schiphol airport in Amsterdam.
The flight went very smoothly. There were no delays and no turbulence. The plane was very full and it was impossible for my host to take any pictures. So this is where we arrived: London, England! We were pretty early at the hotel, like 12 in the afternoon, so my hosts decided to go for a walk through the city. We went to the Houses of Parliament, Westminster Abbey, the Big Ben and the London Eye. Westminster Abbey: After that we walked to Buckingham Palace. That was all we had seen the first day. My hosts were both very tired from the trip and from walking around, so they went back to the hotel early. |
Charda charda1982@gmail.com Posted Jun 22, 2008, 9:47 pm |
On Tuesday we first went for a walk through the park in the Kensington Gardens. There we met this squirrel. He wasn't what you would call shy or anything.
On the other side of the park was the Royal Albert Hall. This is me in front of the statue in front of the hall. My host saw this bus coming by with this lovely advertisement. Isn't it impressive? We went to Piccadilly Circus by Underground. Here's the proof This is just a random spot in London. After that we walked to Trafalgar Square. This is the National Gallery on Trafalgar Square. We didn't go in there today, but we did so on Saturday, allthough we weren't allowed to take any pictures in there. Here I am on Trafalgar Square. My host made a whole series of photos of me on Trafalgar Square, because it is one of my life missions. I hope this is enough proof that I was there This is quite an exceptional building in London. Here I am in front of the Tower Bridge. Lovely picture, right? That was all we saw on the second day of our trip to London |
Charda charda1982@gmail.com Posted Jun 22, 2008, 10:25 pm |
This day we went to the Tower of London. This is me in front of the building where they keep the crown jewels.
Today we went to the British Museum. There were many interesting statues there. My host said she just loved these Greek statues. They were very impressive. This isn't Greek, I know, but Egyptian, but still very interesting to see it for real. The architecture of this building is also very special. |
Charda charda1982@gmail.com Posted Jun 22, 2008, 10:38 pm |
On Thursday we only visited Westminster Abbey, but we weren't allowed to take any pictures there, so there's just this picture of the Big Ben of that day.
On Friday we went to the Tate Britain museum. Again, we weren't allowed to take any pictures there, so there's just this picture. In the afternoon we went to the Museum of London. This is me outside the museum. I know it says 'Useum of London', but the 'M' is just hidden behind the tree After our visit to this museum we walked to St. Paul's Cathedral. It was really close by. We didn't go in though, so we only took these pictures from the outside. When we came home (in the hotel) that afternoon my host wanted to take pictures of the hotel room, and of course we wanted to be on these pictures. This is us in the bathroom. The bathtub was really big and comfortable, but the dogs didn't want to join us. Our host Charda found this British bear in a souvenirshop and she decided to adopt him. He was all right, a bit posh maybe. Our last group picture in England! On Saturday we flew back home to the Netherlands, to our host's home that is of course. The plane on this next picture isn't our plane, because we were inside ours, but it was of the same airline. And this is the view from the airplane while in the air. Cool huh, all those clouds. So now we're back in the Netherlands. As you can see, we had a great time in England! |
Charda charda1982@gmail.com Posted Jun 26, 2008, 7:14 pm |
Today we had a typical Dutch meal: andijviestamppot with bacon and cheese. It looks good, doesn't it?
|
Charda charda1982@gmail.com Posted Jun 26, 2008, 7:40 pm |
Today was a day of goodbyes. First we said goodbye to Mira.
After we put her in an envelope, they said goodbye to both me and Sylphide. This is my last picture with Yolanda. She was a really kind girl. And here's our last group picture together. Now we're off to our new hosts! |

Hello!
I have made it to my next host. We just got home from the post office and wanted to let you know I arrived. : ) |
Kaiwiopele Posted Aug 12, 2008, 3:09 pm |
Hello Mom!
This morning we got up super early and decided to treat ourselves to a tasty meal at McDonalds. Yummy! |
Kaiwiopele Posted Aug 17, 2008, 2:17 pm |
Yesterday my host put some text books up on Amazon to sell and i decided to do a little posing on the mountain of science.
Later today we will be packing them up and I think it will be fun being part of the packing process and not the one getting packed! |
Kaiwiopele Posted Aug 25, 2008, 2:54 am |
Some excitement today when a new arrival came in the mail. We were all excited, even Wolfgang the dog.
Ta-da! Here I am with Sebastiaan and Tiger the Best. Sometimes on sunny & clear days you can see the Washington Monument from this building but today was too cloudy. :-/ I discovered that I'm not afraid of heights! Today (24.Aug.08) we all flew down to Florida with our host. She forgot to bring the adapter for the camera's memory stick though so we don't know exactly how we will get our flight pictures into here yet, but will figure out something tomorrow. : ) |
Kaiwiopele Posted Aug 31, 2008, 4:54 am |
Today we went to the beach!
Here I am chilling on the Seadoo when we stopped to take a break. Later I went swimming, but I'm a little not so seen in this picture cause my lifejacket/bathingsuit was in the way. Here I am with the beach in the background. We went way out a few miles from the coast and saw tons of Jellyfish! here I am with one of the many we saw! Lastly, my host and the other tvs that are staying with us, we all took a picture with the big wide ocean behind us. More to come about our long day in the sun. : ) |
Kaiwiopele Posted Sep 1, 2008, 5:41 pm |
Saturday when we went out on the seadoo we also later went to Fort Pickins, which is on Pensacola Beach. The fort protected the coastline from foreign invasion for almost 100 years. It was completed in 1834 and was in use until 1947. One of the most famous prisoners the fort held was Geronimo, an Apache war leader, this was around 1887.
A view of a good portion of the fort. Part of the Fort's Defense. I think cannonballs and other parts were held in these spaces down the hallway....and out host's silly dad. Here is another section of the fort and you can see the Gulf in the background. |
Kaiwiopele Posted Sep 1, 2008, 6:00 pm |
For the past few days Hurricane Gustov has been in the Gulf of Mexico and today it made landfall in Louisiana. This part of Florida is a few hours away from the area of landfall but we still are getting a good bit of rain, lots of wind and the water in the Gulf and in the Bay is very churned up. So when we woke up this morning to discover the power had gone off we took a little trip downtown to see the Bay.
Here is at a boat launch, the water is quite a bit higher than normal. the dock is even underwater! Usually at this little stop next to the 3 mile long bridge this ledge is 3 to 5 feet above the water level...not today! This picture shows some of the winds we are getting. Here is a big coastguard ship that was docked up downtown. I think it normally repairs buoys and the like. Here is another picture of the waves crashing These are just of the Bay area, we are sure that if we actually had gone out to see the Gulf the waves are a LOT bigger and more numerous. *Due to the weather and the raining all the pictures had all three TVs I'm hosting in them and so each TV is going to have the same post for this. Hope no one minds, we were just trying not to get too wet for us or the camera!* |

Hello! Yesterday we flew back to Virginia. Sorry to leave Florida, I'm going to miss the beach!
Here I am all strapped in and ready to fly! Clouds, the best part about flying is seeing all the clouds and the fun shapes they make. And then we finally saw some land wwwaaaaayyyyy down there. Flying was lots of fun, specially since this time I wasn't shut up in an envelope...ha ha! |

Greetings from Down Under!!!
I arrived in Melbourne last week but my new host has been a bit busy. She's sorry she didn't journal sooner. It's ok though. Henry J Dogwright has been keeping me company. I'm looking forward to getting out and seeing Melbourne. Allison (blue1236) is a little busy with end of semester essays but she is promising to show me some amazing places as soon as she can. |

My host finally had a free day today and she took me up to the Dandenong Ranges. It's a National Park filled with beautiful forest: lots of mountain ash trees and ferns.
There are lots of rules in the National Park. The roads were winding and steep. And we had to be careful of the animals. It was very pretty. At the bottom of the mountain is a town called Ferntree Gully. This is the view of the mountain from there: In Ferntree Gully there is even a street named after me! We had a good day. I'm looking forward to our next adventure. |
