We're all posing for no special reason except that we're together and we're happy.

Also, I am hoping people will see me and read about me and be my future hosts.  :D

Hey everyone!

We drove to The Sea Ranch!  I love it there!  But first we went through Marin County near Petaluma, then Valley Ford and Bodega Bay.  It was a lovely drive with good company.

Any good company out there ready to take on a little bear like me???  :)

Hello folks!

I am so excited to report that there is a candle lit for me on an English windowsill!  I'm a little nervous, too, traveling alone, but I have snacks and the Englishwoman has a kind smile and I will see everyone soon online.

Love  :)

The Sea Ranch is so relaxing.  It must be all those retired folks!

Hi everyone!

Mom made me to spread flowery joy around the world, but some toyvoyagers are second hand and just as lovely.  This little bear Vanilla is exactly that kind of TV.  DuDette ain't bad either!  ;)

Would you like to host me?  I love white and yellow flowers and being outdoors and eating purple things.  I like to pose for photos taken inside, too, to be sure.  My mom is crazy to look at foreign homes, restaurants and stores from the inside.   I am made of wool, so could you please send me on future travels with my piece of cedar, a bag and my little box?  Oh, and maybe sand-paper the cedar a little bit to refresh it?  :)  Other than that, I am low maintenance!  Honest!  :p    :D

Mom I've arrived! :D I am so proud that I managed to get here all on my own. I was a bit worried when I arrived though as my host wasn't answering the door. She was asleep haha, at 2pm! But she reached the door just in time before the postman gave up.

I could hear lots of chattering from inside my package, and there was also some quacking. When they finally got me out a little dog came to recue me from my plastic bag. The toys around me where exclaiming that the bag matched my purple colouring, and so did the sweets! I realised the quacking had come from a big duck and unlike the other naughty ducks I had heard about, he was pretty sensible and friendly ;)

The brown bear was _Mishuta_ also a visiting toyvoyager, and he explained how much he had been looking forward to my arrival. It was lovely to feel so welcomed :) We had a group photo with Mirembe  Albus Star, Mishuta and Big Ducky. Although Ducky felt he looked a bit out of place so he took one of us small toys without him.

Bye bye for now, Love Edelweiss

P.s. My host says thanks for the scenic photocards and sweets!

Today was my first trip out in England! It looked rather wet outside when we left the house so we went to a nearby shopping centre in Manchester. The first thing we saw were lion statues! So Mirembe, _Mishuta_ and I went to investigate. There were flowers next to the statues, they weren't the best in the world but I took a picture just in case we can't find any more yellow and white flowers. When we went inside it was sooo crowded! It is bankholliday in England today, so it wasn't really a surprise. We still managed to get lots of photos though.

The main orient is where all the resaurants and cafes are, but the ceiling is amazing! It is painted to look like the sky. There is an arcade there which my host didn't want to go in as it was very LOUD, but us TVs pursuaded her to have a peek. There was a game where you could win giant cupcakes, and another one was filled with Toystory toys! I was sad that we couldn't rescue them all and set them free as toyvoyagers :( I am glad I am not stuck behind glass. We also visited China town where there was a scary Dragon.

Ooh, the last picture is one of me and my host's cat, Gizmo! We had to take a quick snap before Gizmo spotted me.

Hope you are well Mummy,

Hello mum! Over the weekend my host took PinkyHH, _Mishuta_ and I to visit Durham city where she used to go to university. This uni has a collegiate system so each student belongs to one of 16 colleges. My host lived in the college of St Hild and St Bede, which you can see in the first picture and last picture (erm, my host has posted some pictures a bit out of order sorry!)

After visiting the college we went down to the river and saw some rowers. Rowing is a very popular sport amongst the students and throughout the year there are lots of races where other unis come to compete. We walked into the centre of town then went to view the iconic Cathedral. It was very big! My host said the cloisters were used for a few scenes in the first and second Harry Potter films (she is a BIG harry potter fan! ;) ).

At the other side of Palace Green there is a Castle, which along with the Cathedral is a UNESCO world heritage site. The Castle is home to the students of University College who have formal dinners with gowns twice a week in their great hall. My host said that when you see them wandering around in their black gowns they really do look like they've stepped out of Harry Potter!

We then made our way down the Bailey to the river where we could get a fantastic view of the cathedral. We also spotted a Heron! It is very tiny on this photo, I don't know if you can see it?

At the end of the day we made our way back up to college. We were very tired from all the hill climbing so us TVs insisted on having a sunbathe in the grounds.

Today we went to visit my host's friend in Bradford, West Yorkshire. We had to get two trains there and wait 30mins in Huddersfield so us TVs wandered out of the station and found some fountains and a nice statue. My host is hopeless as history so I had a closer look at the writing below him. Apparently he was a Prime Minister... I really liked the fountains :)

The next train we boarded was very quiet so we had a whole table to ourselves. We were very excited to be let lose on a train and took advantage of all the newspapers scattered around. PinkyHH insisted she could read upside down writing, but I'm not sure I believe her  :p  It was a team effort to turn the pages as they were rather big.

When we arrived in Bradford we made lots of new friends. There was a friendly boy called Tristan who wanted to help us with our pictures. And the cats were very welcoming too, one of them even gave me a kiss!

Hello mom, just wanted to update you with a few pictures. The first one was taken the other week when I was looking out of the window on that English windowsill you told me about! ;) I couldn't actually sit on the windowsill though in case Gizmo pounced.

The others are from the arrival of Buzz Bluejay today. We opened him on the front lawn because it was sunny, and I found a flower that was kindof purplely white and yellow. When Buzz appeared he started zooming around everywere! He landed in a bush then jumped down and found me some dasies to have a photo with :) I gave him a daisy to say thankyou and he hugged me. I think I have found a new friend  :D

Oooh, I forgot to update you on _Mishuta_ 's departure! I was very sad to see him go, but we promised to keep in touch via our travelogs :) He was brilliant at settling me into my host's home, however I still have Buzz and Pinky to keep me company. We have already seen updates from Misha in his new home and he looks very happy  :D

Hi mom, today we took Buzz Bluejay on his first trip out since arriving. We went to a nearby town called Wigan and took some nice pictures outside the church. We jumped into the flowerbeds and I found a flower just like the ones on my tummy! :D We had a group photo on a bush. I think I look cute ;) We then went to investigate further and saw a statue of half a face. When you looked at it from a different side it looked like a full face.

When we arrived home the others helped me with one of my missions; to eat something purple in Europe. They tipped up the glass then ate all of the strawberries and green grapes so that I could have the purple ones. When i bit into it it was green inside! But it's still a purple food, right? :P It was extremely sweet but I liked it.

On thursday we said goodbye to Mirembe, I wish her luck on her journey! After her departure I went to look at the display cabinet in the living room. There was a scary skull in there, and a few heads, which was a bit creepy!

Today and yesterday we went to Bradford again but this time got a picture of the city centre. There we found a pretty bookshop and managed to get some pictures. I'm not sure, are toyvoyagers allowed in bookshops? Ah well, they didn't chuck us out anyway :) Afterwards we caught a bus to a different part of the city and saw a massive Sonic the hedgehog figure outside a shop. Can you spot me on it? I am very tiny! ;)

When we got off the train we walked a bit to find a nice building. On the way we saw a Harry Potter poster which my host liked ;)

We found some pretty canal boats and on the other side of the canal there was a little toyvoyager-sized house. We wanted to visit it but we didn't have any canoes to get across the water :(. We also saw a Roman Granary, there was a sign explaining but we got bored of that and wanted to play :)

We walked through the centre of the city and there were lots of statues but there was some sort of festival going on, ruining the view!

It was the Croft village Carnival today mum! They have a procession through the streets with floats pulled by Tractors or Lorries. Buzz was very enthusiastic about driving a tractor but the rest of us didn't think it would be a very good idea!

Miss Becca says that this is the only day of the year when Croft looks like it has people in! At other times it is extremely quiet. We walked out of the estate to get a good view with no heads in the way. I sat with Buzz and Pinky on someone's garden wall, to wait for it to begin.

First came the police! I think they were there to keep everything in order as the roads had been closed off. They were followed by the bagpipes and the pre-school walkers. Then came the queens. My host said that every year the kids apply to be a Queen, Princess, Rosebood, Attendant or Crown bearer. They used to have a curtseying and bowing competition but now they have a Disco and pick names out of a hat, apparently.  Next came the Women's Institute float called 'Women of the world', I liked the kangaroo. Ooh, and look at this space float. I think after that there was one of the girl scout floats but my host was too busy getting us TVs sorted to notice!

I have more photos which I will post later... Of scarecrows!

Leading on from the last update...

Every year the carnival has a scarecrow competition where anyone in the village can make a scarecrow to display in their garden. This year's theme was the 70's! So we went to have a nosy :) The Starsky and Hutch one was funny, with the rabbit hutch, but my favourite had to be FlOWER POWER! of course :D

Hi mom it's me! :) My host says sorry it's been a while. I will update you on the goings on:

The first photo was taken on the 14th of July when my host was getting ready for the midnight showing of the final Harry Potter. She was very thoughtful and made us hats for the occasion!  Even though they only seem to wear hats in the first film... ah well. Sadly there was nothing exciting in the cinema for us to take more photos of - noone dressed up! :(

Then today was Pinky's leaving day. We made sure she was comfy for her travels, then it was just Buzz and I left. My host says there are a few more toys on their way though so that will be exciting!

Oh oh, there was post, FOR ME?! Well not for me, but I was mentioned :P It was the birthday card you sent to Miss Becca! She really liked the flowers and the stamps and is very grateful. I wanted to show Buzz but he was snoring away!  He refused to wake up so I decided to have a rest too. He really liked the card when he finally was awake :)

The next picture is of the shelf where us TVs sleep. There is a baby clown and Pinnochio! Buzz wanted to meet the toys on the shelves above so I followed and a kind mouse let me pretend to be on the beach under his Umbrella  B)

I also found a cabinet with pretty things in, and I was almost small enough to blend in!

(Pictures to follow)

Today we managed to visit a city and a town all in one day! Our host had an appointment in Manchester so we went there in the car, then Edel and I wanted to get the train to her home town centre afterwards. It was lovely and sunny so we couldn't see why not :D

We took so many pictures I won't describe every one, but the first one is us in the car. In the background you can vaguely see a white sculpture called the 'encounter' on the roundabout next to the motorway. Maybe we can get a better view another time! When we got out in Manchester we spotted some window cleaners abseiling with their buckets on the big buildings. Then we found a mini water-fall further down the canal from last time we went - and the pretty graffiti!

When we got to Warrington we visited the town hall with the golden gates, another park, then went into the centre where all the shops are. There was Alice in Wonderland at the Mad Hatter's tea party! And then we heard chanting and wandered over the the rugby the stadium where there was a match on. My host doesn't like rugby but usually when you mention to someone you live in Warrington they only know it because of the Warrington Wolves team. The pubs nearby were so busy with people spilling out you could hardly see the doors!

The last pic is out of order as it was taken near the golden gates. It is Buzz and I in the sun watching the world go by :)

Today we were surprised because our host got up at 6am for once! And said that we could go on a morning stroll :D We visited the horses. It is nice that there are stables here so you see horses walking around the neighbourhood with their owners, but behind their fields is the motorway which you may be able to see on one of the pictures. The constant noise of cars and lorries ruins the atmosphere a bit! A white horsey came to say hello :) We didn't get too near though in case he wanted to eat us! When we got back the room looked pretty because my host's glitter ball was reflecting the sun, so we took a picture of that too.

We're back :D (on sunday night we travelled down to stay with my host's friends in Gloucester). I am going to split these updates into sections. This section shows us on monday morning, learning how to quill; a skill which my host's friend taught us :)

We cut some strips of coloured paper. I went first and chose the purple B) Then we used a cuticle stick which had a slit cut into the top to keep the paper strip on, and twisted the paper into a spiral. We put the spiral down, then glued the end of the paper so that we could pinch the sides of the circle to make a leaf shape. Finally we glued all of these onto the card and stuck pipe cleaners on to make the trunk of the tree. At the end of our stay we gave the card to our host's friends as a thankyou for looking after us :)

On monday afternoon we went for a stroll to the local park. We had to go through a church graveyard to get to it, which was nice and calm. Then we entered the park and for some reason it looked a bit like Autumn, with the leaves falling already! Some of the trees must be confused. There was a building hidden behind the trees which looked pretty. Then we found a mini nature reserve to investigate. There didn't seem to be much wildlife about but on the way back to the flat we saw some black and white cat twins sat on bins. They looked rather amusing :)

The third of our mini break updates:

This morning we visited the town centre of Cheltenham. Buzz and I were posing on the wall for our picture (well I was having a nap), then noticed that behind us was a a cute group of fluffy ducklings! We zoomed in the camera to get a closer look :)

We went to a park for our lunch, then did some climbing and sunbathing  B) The sun was so bright that the climbing picture isn't clear as we were a bit washed out by the light! :/ I then tried to camouflage myself amongst some flowers... can you see me mum?! ;) The fountain looked cooling, but we didn't really want to jump in as it was rather green.

On our way back along the high street to the buses we saw a nice building that was the bank. I will update again soon to show where we got the bus to next :)

The final instalment of our mini break...

In my last update we were just about to get the bus from Cheltenham to Gloucester city centre. Here I am on the bus :) When we arrived we were glad we'd made the journey. The cathedral is so beautiful and calming. We were even allowed to take some pictures inside and it wasn't really dark like some cathedrals. We were messing about around the walls when a man went past saying 'what a good idea to take your teddies with you on a day out!' He didn't stop long enough for us to explain that we weren't any old teddies - we were teddies travelling the world! :P Ah well.

We managed to get some pictures in the centre grassed bit of the cathedral, just before the camera's battery died and signalled it was time to travel back to our host's home! We had lots of fun mum :)

Added trivia found online (As you may remember from the visit to Durham Cathedral my host likes visiting places where bits of the Harry Potter movies were filmed ;)):

Quote:
Gloucester Cathedral - Gloucester (Hogwarts School, Corridors)
The cathedrals magnificent cloisters were used as the the corridors of Hogwart’s School of Witchcraft and Wizardry in 'Harry Potter and the Philosopher’s Stone' and 'Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets' and were the setting for ghost scenes. The talking pictures in the Sorcerer' stone, and the overflowing bathrooms in the Chamber of Secrets were also filmed here.

On our walk back from the library where my host had been studying, we went along a bridge. There wasn't much else to see on the walk apart from the Free-range chicken farm near to my host's house. I don't think we were meant to be on the land so we zoomed in a bit.

The next photo is us inspecting the sequin glitter glue Michel was using to make his mum's birthday banner - we helped too!

My host travelled again to Durham for a meeting about her education, so us toys went along too. We had fun taking pictures from the back of the car :) We're not sure what the landscape was that we passed, on the map it looks like we skimmed the top of the Yorkshire Dales.

We had a break to stretch our legs and met some sheep :D They wanted to talk to us I think but our host was wary about our safety.

When we reached our destination we didn't have much time to investigate as the journey is a long way to go there and back in a day. But we just about had time to walk along the river a bit and saw the cathedral in the distance. Since I had seen it before I described to the others what it looked like close up B)

(Sorry the pictures are a bit out of order towards the end!)

Hi Mum!

Today my host took us to a nearby city called Liverpool. We visited her favourite shop which is known as 'Quiggins'; it is full of gothic/retro/vintage/alternative clothing and objects. Sorry the indoor pictures are blurry; it is rather dimly lit and we suspected a flash may not be allowed!

The next pictures are of Liverpool Metropolitan Cathedral, just up the hill from Quiggins. We waited for a group of tourists to move so we could get a group shot undisturbed :) From the other side of the cathedral we zoomed and could just about view the top the Liver Building, which has two liver bird statues on top. This building is situated next to the Docks and River Mersey. We will hopefully go to see that side of Liverpool another day.

Hi mum!

My host is dying of stress right now, so these updates may not be as organised, but we should be able to still post pictures despite perhaps getting the dates wrong!

Here are some photos of Bine showing me and the new TV Pinky Bear, the trip that I missed. I was asleep on another shelf with my cedar in the plastic bag, hiding from a moth which we spied whizzing around. Then the next day my host picked up the other TVs in a rush, and forgot me! :O It was okay though, I had a nice rest and it was good to hear the tales from the others when they returned :)

I showed them my cousin Wavy Gravy :D

P.s. If you're wondering who the Monkey and bear are; they arrived from the charity shop and hope to become TVs at some point :)

These photos were taken in two different places.

The first are from a business park in Cheadle, Manchester. Unlike most business parks it had water in the middle that attracts wildlife, which makes it pretty :) I had a relaxation beside the setting sun.

The last two pictures were taken at Winwick Church, which is in the next village along from where my host lives. We didn't have much time as my host had things to do, but we managed to grab a few pictures each :)

A few weeks ago we all got packed into a bag ready to travel to my host's term-time home in Durham, North-east England. It was very exciting!

We stopped off at a service station for a break. Unlike the rather dull motorway stations this was a friendly country one with farm animals. Just as we were leaving we looked across at the cows and then stared :stare: Buzz said 'is that a deformed cow?!' Pinky Bear exclaimed 'That cows got humps!' and then BineHH shouted 'That cow's a CAMEL!' :O Ahahaha. So funny. It was extremely windy so much so that my host had to try several times to get the camera still, but we were determined to get the random field camel on camera :D My host had never seen a Camel in a field before. In England we usually only see Camels in zoos!

I don't think Mr Camel was aware that he was not a cow... :P He was on the other side of the field though so I have added a really zoomed in pictures for you to see :)

So, on the 3rd of October (quite in the past now!), we arrived in the university Halls of residence. On another day there was a double rainbow! We rushed over to climb onto the windowsill, but sadly it was fading quickly :( I don't know if you can see the remains of one of them just above the roof on the opposite building?

The other pics are of our new Toyvoyager accomodation :P The shelf is very much like the one back at my host's home, only this one is more spacious so we can all fit on :)

Helloo mum!

Every saturday now, a private tutor comes to teach my host statistics (because she really fails at understanding anything to do with numbers!). Anyway, that is rather dull, but the room where she is tutored is really pretty, so last Saturday we took some photos. It is in the building where my host lives, but all sorts of people book it. Today we couldn't go in as there was a wedding! :)

We had a bit of a chuckle about the bum on the wall :p My host said it was artistic but we just thought it was funny!

I'm not sure if TVs are allowed to take photos of the room... but we didn't touch anything! I liked the plates and glasses all neatly arranged, and the sunlight was beaming in through the windows.

Just a heads up: After these pictures were taken my host was very stupid and broke her camera! :o However we are hoping to get a replacement by the end of the week.

PARTY TIME!!! :D

*Disclaimer: All amazing decorations were designed and created by the corridor below, not my host!*

We got an exclusive preview before the guests started arriving, to avoid getting crushed or damaged by alcohol ;)

We first entered Willy Wonka's corridor of sweets, and I tried to grab a lolly pop. There was also a Pinata who we wanted to make friends with, but we decided not to talk it because otherwise we would be too sad that it got smashed later. My host felt quite traumatized to watch this happen :(

The games room was next, with the notorious Jenga blocks which had dares on :D

JUNGLE! This room was awesome, although not so fun to clean up the next morning :p (my host went to help with the clean-up as the party creators had put so much effort in).

There was also a Halloween room but sadly the owner of the room hadn't opened it to tourists yet and may not have been too pleased with TVs banging on the door ;) My host said it was pretty cool with lots of cobwebs, spiders, a pumpkin and apple bobbing as punishment for those who had not arrived in fancy dress! (The dress code was tribal)

P.s. Sorry that I am a bit white on some of these pictures, my host isn't great at using her camera so it's a bit hit and miss as to whether the flash makes me pale or not!

Last weekend we were left alone for a few days as my host went back to visit home. She returned with an exciting surprise... Owly! :D He is a present/prize from klubwerks, but he doesn't have his own travelog yet so he wanted to get his face in mine ;) He arrived bearing gifts of two postcards from some important people... one was from LittleCableCars, and the other was from you! To see all the signatures from the postcrossing meetup was amazing mum. Thankyou :)

Tonight we are going to a light festival called 'Lumiere'!

We have noticed in the forums that many hosts are making TVs winter clothes. Well, my host really needs to learn how to knit over Christmas! For now though she cheated :p I don't know if this happens in other countries, but when it gets cold in England, Innocent Smoothie drinks start wearing woolly hats! They are knitted by generous volunteers in order to raise money for Age UK. My host has just looked up the website and people from all over the world can send them in before the 14th of October every year >

www.innocentdrinks.co.uk

Aanyway, back to us! What normal people do with these hats they receive on their smoothies, we don't know. Because obviously the only real use for them afterwards, is for TVs! ;) My host bought it in mind for me, as it is purple and pretty like myself :D But when Sienna tried it on my head it was too big! :( I was kind and thought Pinky Bear might like to wear it instead :) It was perfect for our night out in the cold... or it would have been if we hadn't forgotten it! Maybe it was because Sienna was messing around with the hat before we left  ;)

We set out to this festival of light! (Photos to follow shortly)

As we neared the town centre we noticed that the roads had been closed in preparation for the crowds, and we got our first glimpse of the giant snow globe. It is a bit hard to see in that light, but the statue of a man on a horse is in the centre of the globe!

We then moved on towards the Cathedral, and it was a one-way system with masses of people moving in what felt like a procession. The Cathedral was lit up for 12 minutes with a projections of illustrated pages from the Lindisfarne Gospels. The pictures don't show it too well, but it was the best we could do. Behind me on the other side was the castle but it was basically pitch black with the flash, so all you can see are the light sabers some kids are holding!

After the cathedral we went down the cobbled streets along The Bailey and looked up at the bright figures floating above us. We went across Prebends Bridge, which was lit up with rainbow colours, which I have shown in a picture without me on to try to show it clearer.

From Elvet Bridge we could view the 'Splash' illuminated waterfall on Kingsgate bridge. It very nearly looked like a real waterfall, except it was slightly wonky kindov giving away the illusion a bit  Our picture does't reflect what we could see, but again, we attempted ;)

Next we came across what was called the 'Wish Comet'. We're not sure if this was meant to be positive or not, because we could hear what sounded like positive words projected in a very creepy, depressing way.

Finally, we saw a rather unimaginative piece of light work saying 'Everything will be alright'. The message sounded reassuring though, so we took a pic :)

The last photo again is a bit blurry, but I am standing on another bridge which shows the view across the city (It hardly feels like a city as it is really the size of a small town!)

Apologies for not updating in over a month! :O Here is the update my host forgot to let me post!

On Sunday we went for a walk to see what the Snow Globe looked like in the daytime. I also visited the hatted smoothies, although there weren't many left! Pinky Bear's is so the best :p Ooh, and I saw the Streets beginning to be prepared for Christmas, although the big Christmas tree hadn't gone up yet.

It was extremely foggy, but the atmosphere felt mysterious and fun :)

You may be wondering why there are more light pictures! The first time my host didn't realise there were amazing lights actually inside the cathedral, so we went again ;)

We saw bright colours on the side of a restaurant saying 'Fusion is Rubbish', whatever that means, all this 'modern art'... As we passed the globe the snow stopped!  We peered in at the man shovelling away inside, which was quite funny to watch. Then we saw what we thought was just some lights shoved into a bin. We felt a bit bad taking a picture of that rather than the proper displays... then we looked in the programme and realised that the bin lights WERE a proper display! Oops

We had to watch the Cathedral lights again while queuing up to go inside. There were loads of lanterns hanging up, and candles to make it atmospheric  Then we went into the cloisters area where *cough cough* some parts of Harry Potter were filmed B) There was so much fire all was needed was some hooded people with wands running around, to make it look like a HP battle scene! And there were even more fire displays in the gardens.

My host took 235 photos altogether on these nights, she gets a bit obsessive ;)

Back to the present: Merry Christmas eve eve eve Mum! We found the card from you in the post today which was so nice :)

The attempt at snow here is lame... but I thought I'd show you it anyway ;) We got all excited about the snowflakes, but by the time we had got the camera out they had stopped and this is all that remained :( It looks like a bit of white sherbet has been sprinkled across. Maybe this area could get a prize for having the most appalling amount of snow :p We did however find amusement in the fact that there were ghost versions of ourselves in the glass! Can you see me? I'm not as clear as the other two, but I am there!

A few days later, there was a joint arrival! Chrissy the rat and Tapsi the lion. They brought sweets! We are happy to have some new company for Christmas. Tapsi and I are the same size, so I think we will be good friends :) He has amazing hair.

I went to The Trafford Centre again mum! Do you recognise it? ;) It is all pretty and Christmassy now :) I have tried not to repeat many pictures from last time, but there was still lots to see. I am going to have to split this into a few updates in order to have a rest between uploading the photos, so more will come another day.

Guess who was flying across the sky in The Orient?! Santa himself!  :D And his reindeer of course.

We wanted to look at the building from the outside in the dark, but only Chrissy had time to peek before the rain came down heavy. I have included her pictures so you can see.

We found the birth of Jesus! The stable looked a bit hidden and out of place against all of the extravagant decorations, but I guess a stable isn't very classy is it? Maybe they could have made it bigger though... it looked like it had been thrown in as an after-thought! Where has the true meaning of Christmas gone, we ask? :p

These are the rest of the photos from our trip to the shopping centre.

I found a small waterfall :) We thought there must be a big Christmas tree somewhere, and sure enough, we found it! Only it wasn't any old tree, it was a singing tree! :D The branches at the bottom moved, as a mouth, but you can't really see that on the photo.

We then discovered China Town, then went back to another area where something funny happened. Chrissy rat was posing for a picture on the statue of a music band, when this little boy pointed to her and said 'can I have that mouse mum?!' Well, she looked really scared of being taken away but it was all okay. We thought it was hilarious, especially her indignity at being mistaken for a mouse!  :p She saw the funny side afterwards.

Next we went to look at where the cinema is. We went back through the Orient then up some steps to get there.

Thanks for the Christmas card mum! :) (Not sure if I or my host has already said this... we're both going a bit insane with all the christmas chaos ;) )

Tree decorating! :) (The camera battery went flat so we used a different camera in the middle until the battery charged and now the pictures are in different folders... bear with us while we get the order right ;) )

I have included the pictures of us admiring your card mum, it was very pretty with all the animals on. And also a red card from RikeHH :D

CHRISTMAS DAY! :D

We got a few more pictures of our host's tree now it was day time, then went to see the real tree downstairs. My hosts family bought it for 50p a few days before Christmas :p Can you spot me? The picture is a bit blurry for some reason.

For Christmas my host got a brain! It is meant to help her learn the different parts for her studies, but we just found it fun to play with ;)

Then we all got a surprise... A new TV! :D And he looked liked the brother of Pengy, aww :)

There was another present for my host, which seemed strange; Dawn of the Bunny Suicides! :o She said it is meant to be humorous to humans, but we didn't look inside as judging by the cover we felt it might be a bit disturbing!

After the present-opening we took a few pictures of the decorations, then went to watch 'The Muppets Christmas Carol'. Kermit the frog was starring in it, so we heard it was very good.

A few days after Christmas we went to the 'Lowry Outlet Mall' in Manchester, which we were glad still had Christmas decorations up :) This is next to the Lowry Theatre and arts gallery (the last picture) and Salford Quays (on the banks of Manchester Ship Canal).  The Lowry is named after the artist Laurence Lowry, known for his drawings of Manchester and 'match-stick' people.

This area has been labelled 'Media City UK' as some of the BBC television studios are here (we think the rest are in London), and in another part of the city there are ITV Granada television studios where my host's favourite Soap 'Coronation Street' is filmed. However it isn't too interesting to see as you aren't allowed to visit the actual television set where the street is any more :(

The strange looking building in the background of the photo with the seagulls is The Imperial War Museum.

Hi mum, I have not forgotten you! And I am still well looked after :) There was a slight scare just before my host came back to uni as I'd escaped from the bag to hide behind the cupboard; the fright on my host's face when she did a head count and realised I was missing was so funny :p We thought that was an amusing trick. I am sorry there are so many photos now that they are going to be uploaded without proper stories, but my host want's to get them all on here finally so that we are up to date (and my birthday ones are coming soon!)

So... starting with just after Christmas!

Percy Pig came to stay :D We had lots of fun with the crackers and talking to santa clause ;) Do you like our hats?!

Many months ago we went for this walk. On the 9th picture I am standing next to some buildings; the building at the back of the picture next to the cars is the halls where my host lives. I think I have taken pictures of some of these grounds before, but it was such a pretty frosty day that I wanted to take some more. We went up the steep hill round the back and found a church. Then we walked back through the college grounds down to the river, in the direction of my host's lectures.

On this day of course, it was my birthday! :D My host apologises sincerely for not having the time to let me use the computer to update these pictures until now, but rest assured I had a very good time :)

In the morning we went for a walk around my host's home village. We wanted to go on the swings but it was such good weather there was too many children in the park :o This is abnormal; the village is usually very quiet, and there are many old people who live here. We visited the bowling green instead, then looked across some fields.

In the evening all the other TVs were acting very secretive. They then disappeared :stare: After a while I was allowed into the dining room, and there... was a perfect Edelweiss birthday cake! It had my trademark flower on :D They all erupted into song, and my host's family wondered what all the noise was about :p I was so happy to be able to blow out my very own candle, how exciting  B) I felt very important. I cut it up carefully so that everyone could have some, so then we had a tea and cake party, just without the tea ;)

It was glorious sunshine :D Percy Pig and his mentor wanted to see Liverpool, so we caught the train for a day trip, although we were a bit late getting up... I peered into First Class but we weren't allowed in there. Still, I smiled for the CCTV camera ;) I think my smile will cheer people up. We stopped off to cool down in Starbucks then went to Albert Dock. The sun was now setting and the river Mersey looked beautiful.

Hello mum! The dates of these next few updates are going to be out of sync with the real dates, but ah well. A few months ago my host's friend from London came to stay with her at uni so we showed her some sights. We went to the cathedral of course, then posed round the back. Can you spot us in the fifth picture? ;) Then we walked across the river to see a nice sight that we thought would look good in a painting.

On the day after we viewed the cathedral we went with my host and her friend to visit the Botanic Garden. This is near the Psychology department and near what we call 'the hill colleges' in Durham. The weather wasn't brilliant but at least the rain from the afternoon before had stopped.

The flowers were pretty :) And we met The Millennium Bug! (I forgot to include one of the pictures so the picture of her baby bug is at the end ;))

Then we went into our favorite area - where it was really warm and lovely with the cacti. For a few moments we pretended to be somewhere far away in a desert. Then we went to the next room which was a rain forest! :D This was very humid, but still interesting. There was a button that when you pressed it light rain came down.

Next we got to meet a tarantula. I tried to say hello but she didn't speak back, just stayed very still :( Some other tourists behind us asked whether Pinky bear and I were afraid of the tarantula but I think a general personality trait of a toyvoyager is curiosity rather than fear. My host likes tarantulas as they look fluffy :P ... but if it escaped the glass we probably would have ran! Haha. A less dangerous looking fellow was a froggy we found, but he too didn't seem to know English. He made some sound but I think it was frog-speak.

Then we had a ride on a giant Lilly-pad! :D This was the best bit. Apparently they could take the weight of a small child.

Okay, we actually went here on the 21st of May - how long ago! But to avoid messing up the order of posts we're going to keep the date of entry as in August.

These are pictures from when we went to visit my host's friend Snamoen who also has TVs :D To meet all of these new faces was exciting for all of us. I met Sheela, Flummi, Hip /+/ Hop, Tobi, and Paula.

Our first trip was into the centre of Hexham, where we saw Hexham Abbey and went inside to investigate. We went down into a 7th century Crypt!

Afterwards we moved on to see the Old Gaol, which was the first ever jail in England. We had fun messing around in the stocks :p Unfortunately it was closed that day though, so we couldn't go in.

In the shopping area there was a toy orphanage! And my host's friend rescued Hippy :) We took Hippy to the park, can you see me in the grass? Then we found a nice monument dedicated to those who fought in world war I and world war II.

We were then tired so went back to my host's friend's house to rest. I found some lovely purple flowers to pose with in the garden :) And then we met the resident cat there, Snoopy!

Our adventures in Northumberland continue the next day :)

Dear Mom,

Oh how I miss you already. I am finding this very hard to write, as words cannot really do justice to how I am feeling.

Today the weather was beautiful, and through the sunshine I could feel your peaceful but smiling spirit looking down upon me. I went for a walk to collect my thoughts, and then we found a nice spot for us to lay your flowers. I hope you like these flowers, I picked them out myself, and I really like them.

Sienna came with me just in case I needed some support. She helped me with the flowers but then I started crying so she gave me a hug until I was calm. I didn't want my face to be sad for the special photo. I know you would not want me to be sad mom. Once I had let my emotion out I could smile properly, and I am smiling because although you are not physically here anymore, you will always be part of me. I feel like the luckiest bear in the world to be able to say that you are my mom. I will make you proud,

Love Edeleweiss xxxxxxx
