Hello World,
What a nice day today. Let me introduce myself. My name is HelgaHH, a friendly ladybird - and next to me you see my good friend KalliHH, the Bee. We both love flowers - as you can see. Here is a nice blue one... and a wonderful yellow one. I found some nice grapes... ...and shared the grapes with KalliHH. When we sat there and talked, a friendly bunny came and talked with us. He is called Dicker Kumpel. He told us about ToyVoyagers. I thought about it - and now I want to become one. So let's start. Maybe you want to host me? If yes, please send a PM to RikeH. Greetings HelgaHH |

Hi Mum
Lola said she is sorry for the delay in letting you know i arrived safely, her internet was not working, she said she does not like SKY. I arrived safely in Darlington and it is cold and rainy here, but i was happy to find out i would not be the only TV with Lola, i also met 4 others. We are going to have so much fun, Lola is going to take me to work with her tomorrow and show me to all her friends, and take lots of pictures. I cannot wait for Saturday to arrived because Lola said we are going on a train ride, we have to take two trains to get to a place called Newcastle and the Metro centre. I will get some nice pictures of me and my TV buddies on the trains and also in Newcastle. I will update again soon. Love HelgaHH |

Hi Mum
I have been on a fab adventure today, Lola took me and some other TV's on a train ride to go to the Metro Centre in Newcastle Upon Tyne. On the way we passed this huge and i mean huge metal sculpture that Lola said was called the Angel of the North and Lola said it is baslcailly just a big hunk of rustly looking metal that does nothing. I thought it looked pretty :-) We went and did lots of shopping at the metro centre and then we went for a walk round newcastle city centre before we got the train home. In the city centre we saw lots of different people are the centre singing and playing music on different instruments and it was nice to watch them for a while. Lola said she will take me to work with her tomorrow so i am looking forward to that as i have never been to her office. I miss you lots Love HelgaHH |

Hi Mum
I went to work today with Lola along with Annabell, Julianna and Splash+Snuggles. It was really nice seeing her office, we played games and watched her work and she let us play with the keyboard and the telephone. My new best friend is Annabell and i let her take a ride on my back and we had lots of fun running around the office. We played a game of Limbo and i lost because i was a little bit to big and knocked the bar down:-( Miss you lots HelgaHH |

Hi Mum
We have been having lots of fun at Lolas, sorry we have not updated you in a while, Lola is having computer problems. She will have lots of photos to upload of us this week. Yesterday we went to a place called Middleton Riding School where Lola helps to teach Horse riding to kids. It was great, we where not aloud to take any pictures while we where in the riding school which was a bummer but we still had fun. We got to sit on a horse called Bianca. They had some puppies aswell, they did not have any names yet but the mummy puppy was called Rita and they are French Bulldogs. Today we went on a visit to Lolas mums house and we had fun. We took her dog on a walk in the country and saw lots of field, then we went conker picking which was very much fun. There was a football match going on in the nearby stadium and we got a picture next to the stadium which was wicked. We also got to meet Lolas mums tortoises, she has two. Lola said she will be uploading some pictures of us on our walk and while we where with the tortoises later this evening, we got to climb trees any everything it was fab. Bye for now Miss you lots HelgaHH |

Hey I just want to update and say I am now in a place called Stockton which is in Teeside, United Kingdom.
I was sent in a parcel with a few other voyagers to a ladies house who was not expecting us. She was very suprised when she opened the parcel to see all us toys waiting to come out. She was able to see where we came from because i was the only one with a tag to say i come from toy voyagers. So she joined the website and is letting all the toys owners know they are safe. Lorraine who has me at the moment needs to know where to send me to because she unfortunaly is unable to look after us. She has got a new baby who is 3 weeks all called Emily and a 2 year old called Evie and because she was not expecting us she is not ready to host us right now. She did say in the future she would love to take part in hosting which is nice. Evie gave me a cuddle which was nice :-) It is very cold here and it started to snow earlier so we are all snuggled up warm next to the radiator. |

Hello world,
Today I sat in front of some lovely flowers and thought about the future. Suddenly another lady bird came and we talked a lot. She is called Aura and she is a ToyVoyager. What an interesting life. Well - I was interested in becoming a ToyVoyager, too. Aura suggested to ask Dicker Kumpel about it. He is a very nice bunny and knows a lot about this kind of Travellers. He came and he was so surprised. He told me that I look like a ToyVoyager, who is lost at mysticsweetness or JannieB. It is really sad that some people are kidnappers of poor ToyVoyagers. I was not sure to become a ToyVoyager – it seemed to be a dangerous life. But RikeH offered me to travel on a Trail – where the hosts are all good people. So I decided to start the adventure. I will travel with the name HelgaHH – it is good for me, because I had no name before. I said good-bye to Dicker Kumpel – and hope to write more soon. Love HelgaHH |

Hi mum,
my new friend Charlie Mouse and I have just visited the Sforzesco Castle, a medieval castle in the center of Milan. It's a nice place, surounded by a wide park. Inside there are a lot of museums: paintings, furnitures, sculptures and so on. We have enjoyed it! Bye, HelgaHH |
annix Posted May 23, 2011, 11:43 am |
Hi mum,
I've decided to taste some local dish, the first one is a typical Itaian pizza! Charlie Mouse and I think it's good... sorry but I have to go now, it's lunche time! Love, HelgaHH |

Hi mum,
another thing that Italian people like so much is coffee. My host wants me to try a typical Italian coffee ("espresso") and a "marocchino", which is a coffee+milk+chocolate. I have not yet decided which one I like best... Love, HelgaHH |

Hi Mum,
I arrived in Calgary . When I crawled out of my envelope I found two TVs welcoming me : Fiete, a nice cow from Germany like me and sammino, a stay-at-home TV, but since I was a bit jet-lagged we saved telling our travel stories for later . |
smaug Posted Jul 24, 2011, 6:22 am |
Hi Mum,
Today I took my first trip to the mountains. The car park was very quiet, but it was a nice morning . The first part of the trail was in the middle of a forest, until we reached Baldy Pass, where the view was very nice. Here we also got a glimpse of our destination for the day...which looked still quite far . But, somehow, smaug’s legs managed to propel us to the top where we were greeted by a great view . We could see Baldy Pass below us... ...the prairies in the East... ...the Rockies extending in the North... ...and a very concerning storm over Nakiska ski area which seemed to head straight for us . And it actually hit us very quickly, but it also went away very quickly, giving us a chance to take a photo with this nice rainbow . Before starting the trip back we all signed the summit register . And back at the car we had a final look at Midnight Peak which by now, of course, was shining in the sun . |
smaug Posted Aug 1, 2011, 6:58 am |
Hi Mum,
This week smaug left us all alone all week but when he came back last night we were very pleased to hear that the weather was going to be gorgeous and that he was going to take us to the mountains today . After spending, as usual, a lot of time under the shadow of the trees we had our first glimpse of the mountains encircling Hidden Lake, which, true to its name, was hidden from our eyes the whole day . Moving on we reached Boulder Pass, from where we could see better the same mountains... ...and where we saw for the first time our destination of the day....which seemed awfully steep . Later we reached Deception Pass from where we could see back Boulder Pass, Mount Redoubt and Ptarmigan Lake... ...and Skoki Valley. From here Fossil Mountain appeared a touch less inaccessible, but still a bit far up above us. But somehow smaugs’ legs managed to propel us up to the top, from where the view was great . We could see Skoki lakes with the Wall of Jericho (don’t even think of asking me who and how came up with the names around here )... ...again Boulder Pass with Mt Temple and Mt Victoria far in the background... ...and more beautiful mountains and small lakes in all directions. On the way back we stopped for lunch . While smaug was retrieving the supplies we checked our daily progresses. Then we focused on the food: the energy bar and drink were far from appealing... ...but luckily smaug packed some chocolate too , German chocolate ! With a full belly we had a look around: our lunch spot had a lovely view over Skoki lakes... ...and valley. Eventually it was time to head back, but still we took a photo with Ptarmigan Lake and Mount Redoubt... ...and some more photos from the lake shore. After that we dived back in the rucksack and helped ourselves with what was left of that lovely chocolate . |

Hi Mum,
Today it was a holiday, so we had another chance to spend some time outdoor. This time we stayed close to Calgary in Kananaskis Country. And we were lucky with the weather again , and had a nice view right from the car park. Later we dived into the trees, and came out of them already up on a ridge, from where we could see the Elbow River flowing east to Calgary... ...and the Rockies over to the west. Looking down to the valley we could see that the car park was still completely empty...other than for our lonely car . Once we approached the summit we had to follow a nice and gentle grassy ridge. Until we reached the top, from where we could see both the prairies and the Rockies . On the way back the wind suddenly became a bit uncomfortable, which sent us back hiding into the backpack . |
smaug Posted Aug 12, 2011, 4:16 am |
Hi Mum,
Today Fiete got ready to leave, so first we helped him with one of his missions by letting him sit on a Canadian note....sammino was planning to use something fancy like a $100 note , but $20 was all we could find inside smaug’s wallet . Then it was farewell time and we wished him a safe journey before he jumped into his envelope . |
smaug Posted Aug 27, 2011, 6:05 am |
Hi Mum,
Today it was another nice day , so off we went to the mountains again. We drove over to Lake Louise and walked up to one of the peaks near the lake. Halfway up we reached the saddleback, from where we had our first look at the summit... ...and we even saw Mt Temple, clad in ice . Once at the top we braved the freezing wind and had a look around. We had Mt Victoria in front of us... ...and we could see Lake Louise down there. We had again a great view of Mt Temple... ...and of the Bow valley heading north towards Jasper . On the opposite site of the mountain we saw the Lake Louise Ski Area (sammino told me that he was skiing there last winter...which means just over 3 months ago )... ...and the Bow Valley heading south. Eventually I decided that it was a touch too cold for gentle ladybird , so I hid back in smaug’s backpack. |
smaug Posted Aug 29, 2011, 4:50 am |
Hi Mum,
Today was another lovely and warm (for Canadian standards, of course ) weekend summer day and smaug took us out for an easy scramble. After walking a bit in the trees we found this lovely waterfall . Later we reached Bourgeau Lake still clad in shadow. From here we saw Mount Bourgeau looming over the lake. Moving up we found this lovely unnamed lake . Eventually we reached Harvey Pass with Harvey Lake. On the other side of the pass we could see Mount Assiniboine towering in the distance... ...and the mountains disappearing west in British Columbia . At this point sammino suggested to walk up the gentle ridge to the top Mount Bourgeau , so off we went. The summit at first was a bit of a disappointment as it was cluttered with all sort of stuff . But once we looked around we changed mind . We could see Banff down in the valley... ...Mount Assiniboine again,... ...Sunshine Village ski area below us... ...and generally the view was incredible . On the way down the ridge we leaned over the edge of the ridge to look at the valley that we walked up in the morning... ...and at Bourgeau Lake. For lunch we chose a spot below Harvey Pass from where we could see both the pass... ...and the little unnamed lake . Before diving back into the trees we took a last view of Bourgeau Lake... ...and Mount Bourgeau, from where we just came down. What a day ! |

Hi Mum,
Today smaug brought back home a parcel which got us very excited as we have been expecting a new guest for a few days... ...and yes, a new guest it was : Sofia, a nice hover-fly from Finland . And she brought over some lovely presents...no need to say that the chocolate soon disappeared in our mouths . And actually it was a day full of arrivals . Late at night smaug disappeared and when he came back he had three more toys with him: two more of his TVs, Krystal and Landroval, and Sigfrido who looks after smaug's guest who don't stay here in Calgary...and they will be here for the whole weekend . |
smaug Posted Sep 5, 2011, 3:49 am |
Hi Mum,
Today we went for a quick walk around Calgary downtown. We saw some of the skyscrapers .. ...a C-Train station... ...and these strange structures . Of course, we stopped for food ... ...before taking a final look around and head home. |
smaug Posted Sep 7, 2011, 5:05 am |
Hi Mum,
Today we went for a short visit to Banff. On the way we had privileged seats to enjoy the view of the mountains ... ...and just as we were parking, we met this big group of horseriders . We had a look at our surroundings... ...and off we went in the middle of the Bow Valley. It was very hot, so the river was really inviting us for a skinny dive ... ...but smaug said that the water was too cold , so we moved on and passed by this lovely wetland. Later we stopped at Sundance Canyon, with it’s narrow gorge . In the evening we took a ride on the Sulphur Mountain Gondola. Although the sun was setting, the view from the top was great . We could see the Banff down in the valley... ...the summit station of the gondola... ...and the whole Mount Rundle ridge . |
smaug Posted Sep 8, 2011, 5:17 am |
Hi Mum,
Today we gathered together to say goodbye and wish a safe trip to Sigfrido, Krystal and Landroval who are travelling back to Europe . |
smaug Posted Sep 13, 2011, 4:08 am |
Hi Mum,
although we got some rough weather over the last week, today it was a wonderful day (a tad cold maybe ), so smaug took us up to the mountains again . First we stopped at the Norquay Ski Resort parking lot, which was pretty much empty. As we moved up the mountain we started having a good view (getting blinded by the sun ) of Cascade Amphitheatre on one side... ...and of the of the valley leading to Elk Pass on the other. Moving further up we started seeing Banff and Vermillion lakes ... ...the front face of Norquay ski area... ...and the valley hiding Mystic Lake. While we were wondering if we’ll ever go there and be enlightened by some mystic vision , we noticed the more mundane, but equally impressive, amount of snow that the clouds dumped on the top of Cascade Mountain over the last couple of days . So, before pushing for the summit, we decided to get a sugar boost ... ...and spent some time resting and laying in the sun . Eventually it was time to move on and, as the track was getting snowbound, things got exciting..although I am sure I overheard smaug using very different adjectives to describe the situation . On the way we started seeing Mt Rundle... ...and the Spray River valley behind Banff . Still the summit didn’t look much closer... ...while the snow was getting deeper....great for playing . Anyway, we eventually reached the top and we were also brave enough to take a few photos in the freezing wind. We saw Lake Minnewanka... ...the mountains in the west... ...and the Bow Valley heading east . And that was enough of coping with the freezing cold for me, so I hid back in the backpack until we reached warmer elevations . |
smaug Posted Sep 30, 2011, 2:07 am |
Hi Mum,
Guess what? Today was a holiday in Canada, so we could take advantage of the lovely long weekend weather and head again to the mountains . After the usual long chilly walk at the beginning of the day, we emerged out of the trees and got greeted by a lovely little lake called Tower Lake. From here we had also the first glimpse of our destination of the day, Castle Mountain . Moving up a bit we reached another little lake, Rockbound Lake. As the name suggests , it’s fenced almost on all sides by steep rockwalls... ...which made us wonder how the heck smaug thought to get past that, but he said that the scree slopes on this side looked walkable enough. And apparently they were, as we got to the upper ledge without any accident . From here we were able to see the Bow Valley in the distance... ...the summit of Castle Mountain... ...and Rockbound Lake just below us. Moving on the landscape turned a bit “lunar” ... ...and as we approached the summit ridge some scary cracks allowed us to have a peek at the other side of the mountain. Eventually we reached the top, from where we had a great view of the Bow Valley,... ...Vermillion Pass heading to British Columbia... ...and of Rockbound Lake, which now looked quite far away. What a day ! |
smaug Posted Oct 3, 2011, 3:47 am |
Hi Mum,
Once again smaug left us home alone for a few days and disappeared on site. But that doesn’t mean that we aren’t enjoying our time . We have regular cereal based breakfast...with a touch of chocolate of course . Then we check the latest TV updates... ...have nutella at pleasure throughout the day ... ...play computer games... ...and we are also eating strictly “Albertan” : burgers and steaks at every meal . Let’s just hope that smaug won’t overreact finding the refrigerator empty when he comes back . |
smaug Posted Oct 5, 2011, 2:34 am |
Hi Mum,
smaug came back and told me that I have to get ready to leave immediately to go to a new host in Germany (hopefully this sudden rush to get rid of me is not related to the disappeared burgers ), so today I said goodbye to my friends here in Calgary . Before I jumped into my envelope sammino gave me a big hug and wished me a safe journey . |

Hi Mum
I'm back in Germany and happy to see some light again after all those days in the dark envelope. When I got out of my envelope I was already expected by some other TV's who all admired the postcard and fridge magnet I had brought with me as a gift for my new host. Then I was introduced to Sammy. He said "hi" and we posed for a photo but then his attention was attracted by some birds who flew close to the window. I was also curious and wanted to have a look out of the window. The birds were already gone when I arrived but I was happy to see lots of trees and felt like flying outside and sitting on their leaves. However, as it was rather cold, I decided I'd better stay with the others. Then I chose a nice place for the Canadian fridge magnet. I will soon write to you again. Bye. HelgaHH |
nuriayasmin nuriayasmin70@gmail.com Posted Oct 13, 2011, 7:25 pm |
Dear Mum
Today we went hiking in the nature reserve Neckartal-Odenwald. First we took a bus to the mountain of Königsstuhl. There's also a cable car going to its top but currently it runs only part of the track, due to maintenance works. However, we had a short look at the funicular railway station. The trail we took is called Via Naturae and covers about 8 km of the nature reserve. The first few hundred meters are part of the nature education trail for children and we saw some interesting things there. Afterwards we walked this way. We saw several stones with directions. And we also passed this stone in memory of the members of the local hiking club who had died in World War I and II. After about one hour of walking we came to a forest lodge where we rested and ate something. I met this cute black beetle which wasn't afraid of me at all. I also saw something which looked like an ant hill but it was probably abandoned because I didn't see any ants. It was really a great day at the forest. Bye for now. HelgaHH |

Dear Mum
The weather has become quite cold and rainy here but it's probably not much better at home, is it? Last weekend I went to France and was lucky to have lots of sunshine. Nuriayasmin, her daughter, some other TV's and I spent two days in Strasbourg. We only needed two hours to get there but had to change trains twice in Mannheim and Offenburg. Strasbourg's central railway station is a very modern building: At the hotel all TV's gathered around the guide book to learn something about Strasbourg's history and decide where to go: Strasbourg's city centre is practically an island. The river Ill and the canals Rempart and Fossé du Faux flow around it. There are lots of bridges, though. Here you can see me in front of the Fossé du Faux and the St. Jean church. Some of the houses were built very close to the water: This is one of the three towers of the Ponts Couverts. Normally you have a great view to all three towers from a bridge on the other side but it was under maintenance and so we missed that view. I couldn't resist to take a rest on this flower box. Strasbourg's cathedral is absolutely impressive. Its north tower is 142 m high and nuriayasmin didn't manage to take a picture of the whole cathedral and me. They started to built the cathedral in 1179 and only finished it in 1439. The Maison Kammerzell was built in the last 16th century. Today it's home of a restaurant which spreads over 4 floors. The mailboxes in France look like this. We certainly wrote a couple of postcards and also bought some for nuriayasmin's collection. We started the second day with a walk along the canal Rempart. We saw a couple of these tourist ships. Nuriayasmin suggested to do such a trip but her daughter was against it when she saw the queue at the pier and so we just walked :-). This is a memorial for the soldiers who died in South East Asia and North Africa during World War II. A view over the Place de la Republique and if you have a close look you also see the north tower of the cathedral in the back. Many of the bridges were beautifully decorated with flowers. When we got back to the city centre we had a look at some souvenir shops and I chatted with these storks. Storks are a symbol of the Alsace region. Last not least we climbed the 329 steps to the viewing terrace of the cathedral from where we had a spectacular view on the city and its surroundings. There were also some inscriptions I tried to decipher: We took a last group photo back at the hotel to show off our souvenirs. Nuriayasmin bought postcards and an oven mitt and her daughter had decided to take one of the storks back home. It was a very nice weekend. Bye for now. HelgaHH |

It has become quite cold but my host's cat Sammy keeps me warm when I ask him. One of the TV's who live here, Priscilla, the dolphin, is leaving for her first journey, so we all (including Sammy) gathered to tell her good-bye and are looking forward to reading her news. Hope you are doing fine. HelgaHH |

Dear Mum
Today was a wonderful sunny day and so I accompanied nuriayasmin and her daughter to the zoo. Heidelberg has just a small zoo but we nevertheless saw some interesting animals and had a good time. This is the zoo's entrance. First we passed some goats and monkeys. Well, you can't see much of them on the photo, I'm afraid. In the house behind me there were baby turtles. Can you spot the kangaroo in the background? I saw some very cute monkeys. This goat was very curious. There were also birds at the zoo. This sign says that you may not feed the turtles. Meerkats are very cute animals. There are also a lot of sculptures at the zoo and this was one of my favourites. This looks beautiful, doesn't it? That owl came very close. But the elephants preferred to keep away from the visitors.. These monkeys would have loved to play with me, they touched me and invited me into their cage. There were also some zebras. This bird tried to bite me so I kept a distance. Last not least the North Sea scenery. Hope you liked my photos. Take care, HelgaHH |

Dear Mum
Today I strolled along the river Neckar and had a look at the Old Bridge. Unfortunately it was quite foggy over the mountains so the view wasn't the best. However, here are some photos for you to see: Next time you hear from me, there'll be a surprise for you. Lots of love, HelgaHH |

Hi Mummy,
today I decided that it was time to meet KalliHH, we were separated for more than 14 months now. In the early morning I took off from Heidelberg and reached Remscheid around midday. From Kalli's travelog I knew that the municipal park was a nice place for a meeting, so I sent him a SMS. I painted some signs so he would find me. I was waiting patiently until he finally found me We were so happy! We strolled around the park and talked and talked ... KalliHH brought some of his friends with him, they all shared our happiness. We found a nice place to be alone for some minutes. Later, in the evening ... Good-night! HelgaHH |
olgamaus Posted Nov 15, 2011, 3:01 pm |
Hi Mummy,
today I spent another romantic day with dear KalliHH. We took a walk in Solingen-Unterburg, a lovely historic quarter in the neighbour city Solingen. First we visited an old formerly evangelic graveyard. It belongs to this little church from 18th century. The graveyard was opened in 1744 A.D. and closed in 1854 A.D. 52 graves remained. This graveyard really is a speciality because the tombstones were created in a nearly unitary style, made from an originally yellow-reddish sandstone. Presumably they were made at the same time around 1745 A.D. They were probably made with the inscriptions and sayings, later the dates of death were filled in. After visiting the graveyard we took a walk in the nearby forest. From a view point we saw Muengsten Bridge in the distance. Muengsten Bridge is Germany's highest railway bridge, like KalliHH told me. Here is also a zoomed photo. We found a cosy place with soft pine needles. Jellybean stayed with us as a chaperon Katja showed us a memorial for Hermann Löns, a German journalist and author, who lived from 1866 A.D. till 1914 A.D. He died as a soldier in World War I in France. He had a jaunty love life with two wifes (not at the sime time ) and several mistresses. Shortly before we reached the car KalliHH showed me Schloss Burg on the nearby hill, he told me that he already visited this medieval castle two weeks ago. I'm afraid that I will have to leave KalliHH soon Bye HelgaHH] |

Hi Mummy,
today it was time to travel to my next host. I had to say good-bye to KalliHH and my German hosts in Heidelberg and Remscheid. We packed our things in the morning. One last kiss ...than we both had to leave. Good-bye KalliHH! Good-bye Dani! Good-bye Katja! |
Kuschi Posted Nov 18, 2011, 10:37 pm |
Hi Mummy,
I arrived safely in Austria. It was a short journey. A little bit cold but ok. First I was a little bit afraid, but Karin (Kuschi) and her boyfriend Jimmy told me not to be afraid. They also told me that I am their first ToyVoyager and that they are really happy that I arrived. Today we went shopping and afterwards they showed me your home and their pets. They really have many pets, but today I only see a few of them. The cats and I became friends. They are really cute. The big brown one is called ODIN and the little red-white one is called KALTARIS. I also like their hamster. He is called KOKSI. He always was on my side. He wanted to clean me but i didn`t want this. At first I was a little bit sad because I missed KalliHH. Now it is quite ok because everybody is soo friendly to me. It was a long exciting day. Now i go to bed. I have my own place. Nice greets your HelgaHH |

Karin drove home with me at 10 pm, because I shouldn`t go to bed to late. (but Mummy I stood awake until 1 am ) |

Today we made a city tour. First we strolled through the city center. Then we had breakfast. It was delicious. At next we stopped at one part of the landmarked city wall. That was cool. Karin was a little bit afraid that we tumble down. Last but not least we went to the city park. There was a little petting zoo. We took a few photos with the animals. Then Mr. Roboto and I play at the children´s playground. Karin allowed us to play nearly one hour. It was a really amazing day. |

Hi mum,
Today Karin, Jimmy, Mr. Roboto and I looked for a Christmas tree. There were such a wide choice, but either the tree were to high or to small or it just looks strange. After some time we finally found the Christmas tree which achieve our requirements. Everybody was happy and satisfied with the choice. |
Kuschi Posted Dec 16, 2011, 6:02 pm |
Hey Mummy,
Today another TV arrived. He is called Twinky and he is really big. He is a nice one. Mr. Roboto and I welcomed him. He was happy. In the night he was a little bit afraid so Mr. Roboto and I slept next to him. Bye |
Kuschi Posted Dec 24, 2011, 9:56 pm |
hey Mummy,
Today we made a trip to a nice park in Vienna. We drove by car. We saw many squirrels. They were sooo cute. Twinky wanted to stroke one, but it was afraid and ran away. They are really fast. It was a nice trip because today it wasnt cold. Afterwards we went to a RUNNING SUSHI. That was amazing, mummy. The food was on a band-conveyor and you could take what you want. We ate sooo much. Now we will go to bed, because we are tired. It was a very cool day. I love you mum. Bye |
Kuschi Posted Dec 24, 2011, 10:28 pm |
Hey Mum,
Today we celebrate Christmas by Karin and Jimmy at home. In the morning we decorated the Christmas tree. We all helped together. Now he is beautiful. In the evening we exchanged gifts. I got a yellow handmade(from Karin) cap and gloves. I was really happy. Mr. Roboto and Twinky got handmade scarfs. We had really fun and I hope you too. I wish you a merry christmas, mummy. Bye |
Kuschi Posted Jan 9, 2012, 3:20 pm |
Hey mummy,
today we celebrate Christmas by Jimmys and Karins family. It was a nice day. We ate a lot of cookies. |
Kuschi Posted Jan 10, 2012, 4:52 pm |
Today we celebrate New Year's Eve.
First we ate sandwiches and cookies, then we played a funny game. At midnight we drank sparkling wine and watched the beautiful fireworks. Afterwards we got talismans. Last but not least we made “Bleigießen”. That’s where you melt little lead figures in a spoon on New Year's Eve to see what the year ahead will bring...a form of fortune-telling. That was soooo cool. Bye |

Hello!
Today we had a day at LINZ. Linz is the capital of Upper Austria. We saw many things... A statue, which is called the "Dreifaltigkeitssäule", is a landmark of Linz. There was also a funny car in a box. Maybe i can drive away with it. After a walk through the city i had a rest at the Danube. Its the biggest river in Austria. |
RichMich Posted Apr 6, 2012, 5:45 pm |
Hello
Today we were at the zoo in Linz. Do you find me on the picture with the big board "ZOO LINZ"? In the zoo i met many animals: a snake, a deer, something shaggy - of what i forgot the name , and much more friends of me . But the funniest animal i found was rhea - it looked so funny at me all the time. I also made a picture with yellow flowers. They reminded me so much on my good friend KalliHH. It was a very exciting day! |

Today i made a bicycle ride... First i had to decide where i should sit... i found a nice place in the front of the bike... In the middle of my ride i was so ko, that i had to make a break in the open countryside. I ate a little snack sat in the meadow with flowers ...and then i rode home again... |
RichMich Posted Apr 29, 2012, 4:59 pm |
Heji
Today there was the hotest day in April in Austria. Here it has about 31° degrees! I wanted to become cooler, it was too hot for me. To become cooler, i tried out different things: go swimming in the Danube, having a bath in the washbasin, siting in the freezer compartment and taking a shower at a fountain at the city. For me it was very funny After that i really became cooler. For drying i take a sunbathe on the drying rack. That was a fantastic experience. |

Hi Mum!
I've arrived safely in Hexham. I was greeted by so many Toyvoyagers! It was quite a long journey, but it was made nicer by the fact that Niiskuneiti was travelling with me. Here's a group picture of me with all the other TVs that are staying with hostmum. There's Paula Hip, Lizzy Lizard, _Mishuta_, Niiskuneiti, Sheela, Flummi and Huhn. I think I'm going to have a great time here! When I told hostmum that one of my life missions is to sit next to five red flowers, she took me outside. Look Mum - two more red flowers! Now I only need to find two more and I will have completed my first mission! Back inside, Niiskuneiti and I said hello to Snoopy, hostmum's cat. She's very friendly! Then Flummi and I decided to play a game called 'Tres'. I had never heard of it before, but it's quite a fun game. I started to get the hang of it as the game progressed. But as you can see, unfortunately I didn't win! The winner has to have three of their discs in a row in the red bit. It was still a fun game though. It's been quite a long day - what with travelling so long, so I think I'll go get some sleep. Night Mum! HelgaHH |

Hi Mum,
Guess what I saw today! The Olympic Torch! We went and found a good spot to watch the Torch go past. We sat for quite a while. There were a lot of police around. And finally... we saw the Torch! Isn't it so cool? Bye, Helga |

Hi Mum,
Today we went to Derwent Resevoir. The resevoir is just under 5km wide and it can hold up to 11 million gallons of water and provides water for almost half of the North East of England The coastline around it runs for about 7km. We decided to go exploring. Look Mum - a ladybird came and said hello to me! Can you see him on me? We also came across this really pretty river that runs in to the resevoir. Bye, HelgaHH |

Hi Mum!
We've been in Essex this past week, as hostmum's Nana has just been released from hospital. So hostmum has been helping her Nana at her home. Because of this, we haven't really gone to see anywhere. But that's okay - because I've been keeping myself entertained with all the animals that hostmum's Nana has! Here I am with Summer - she's only just out of the puppy stage! And this is Honey, who loves to play. Here I am with Jessie. Jessie is 15 years old, so she sleeps a lot, but she loves to cuddle and curl up with you. And this is Tosca, who has to be the fluffiest cat I've ever seen! And finally, here I am with Mr. Pickles, the tortoise. So as you can see, I've been having a lot of fun with all the animals! Bye, HelgaHH |

Hi Mum,
Last night was so much fun! Because hostmum and her family went out, we had the house to ourselves. So of course we threw a houseparty for all the toys in the neighbourhood! First we had to get things ready, so I helped Flummi and Lizzy set out the drinks. Then - the doorbell! Our first guests have arrived! As the night wore on, more and more toys arrived and we all started dancing. I started to chat with Imperio, he told me that his mum was good friends with my hostmum. He assured me though that he wouldn't be telling his mum about the party, so hopefully hostmum won't find out! Then we thought it would be fun to have a bit to drink... And that's the last thing I remember, until I woke up this morning... It was a great night Mum! And we all tidied up, so hostmum was none-the-wiser when she came back. Bye, HelgaHH |
Snamoen Posted Jul 20, 2012, 8:29 pm |
Hi Mum!
Boy, am I tired today! I had to get up at 3am... It felt like I had only just fallen asleep, and then I was being woken up! It was quite a hectic morning, as we had to say bye to Niiskuneiti (who is going back home) as well as getting together all the last minute things that needed packing. Then, when we were sure that we had everything - we were ready to leave. We're now on a cruise, we've just left Istanbul. Unfortunately I wasn't able to take any pictures, as by the time our cameras had arrived, it was too dark to see anything. But I can promise you - Istanbul is a very nice place (but very busy - over 15 million people live here!). Bye, HelgaHH |
Snamoen Posted Jul 21, 2012, 8:56 pm |
Hi Mum!
Today I went to the ancient city of Troy, in Turkey. It was so much fun! One of the reasons that Troy is famouse is because of the 10 year war with Greece, which started when - legend has it - the prince of Troy fell in love with the married queen of Greece and kidnapped her. For 10 long years the war was fought, until the Greeks decided to build a big wooden horse. I'll come to that later. Did you know that the city of Troy is one of the oldest cities in the world? It's over 5000 years old! Right, so, the horse. I don't know if you know the story or not, Mum. According to legend, the Greeks build a massive wooden horse and left it outside the walls of Troy. The Trojans thought that the horse was a gift from the Gods and meant that the Greeks had surrenderd. What they didn't realise was that the Greeks were hiding in the belly of the horse, so once all the Trojans were in bed asleep, they came out of hiding and voila, the war was won, as the Trojans were taken by complete surprise. After visiting Troy, we went to the village of Canakkale and had a nice walk along the promenade. Then we came across this replica of the oiginal horse of Troy. This one was used in the movie 'Troy', with Brad Pitt. Finally, after many, many hourse of walking around in the sun, we decided that it was time to go back to our ship and relax on the balcony. Bye, HelgaHH |

Hi Mum,
Look – I’m in Rhodes! First we went on a trip to visit this old church, which was built in the 15th Century. Along one of the pathways leading away from the church are 12 plaques depicting Jesus in his final moments before he was nailed to the cross. After visiting the church, we walked in to Rhodes and came across this lovely little market. Then we entered Old Rhodes – which is the medieval city of Rhodes. Old Rhodes is surrounded by walls to protect it from raiders. New Rhodes has been built around it. Here you can see the old castle. This used to be a hospital a long time ago, but now it’s an archaeology museum. Did you know, that only the rich were allowed to be treated here? And only on the condition that they signed over their property to the doctors and priests that ran the hospital! This is part of an old statue from the 2nd century BC and represents the God ‘Helios’. And finally, here we are on the cannon balls – they’re also from BC. As you can see, it’s been another awesome day! Love, HelgaHH |
Snamoen Posted Jul 24, 2012, 3:03 pm |
Hi Mum,
I had another fun day today, without even getting off the ship! We’ve been at sea all day. Because it was so hot – 37C, can you believe it?? – I spent most of the time relaxing in the shade and enjoying the company of the other TVs. The best part of the day, for me, was seeing the ice-sculpting demonstration. In just 15 minutes, the ice-sculptor had managed to make two dolphins out of a big block of ice. Amazing! Love, HelgaHH |
Snamoen Posted Jul 26, 2012, 6:52 pm |
Hi Mum,
Today was another great day. We docked in Cyprus and spent the day exploring. Here I am at what the locals call Aphrodite’s Bay. According to legend, Aphrodite (who is the Goddess of love and beauty) was born here. The legend also says that if you bathe in the waters here on a full moon on Friday 13th, that Aphrodite will make you appear 10 years younger. This date tree was nearby. Dates are very nice, sweet little fruits. We also went to the Tomb of Kings. Apparently, the archaeologist that discovered these tombs was jealous about all the tombs that had been discovered in Egypt, and decided to name this place the Tomb of Kings, even though no kings were buried here! The remains of a 5-year old boy were discovered here. Because of the things that he was buried with, it’s believed that he was one of Cleopatra’s brothers. Did you know that Cleopatra murdered some of her brothers, in case they tried to take her throne? Very sad! The reason why some Egyptians were buried here is because a long time ago, one of the Greek princes fell in love with Cleopatra and gave her the island of Cyprus as a gift. But then he fell out of love and took the island back. We also went to Dionysos. In this house, all the old mosaics from the 2nd Century BC have been place, to protect them from the elements. This mosaic shows a scene from a vineyard. And this one represents the four seasons of the year. To finish our day, we had a look around Paphos, which is a small town on the harbour. Love you! HelgaHH |
Snamoen Posted Jul 28, 2012, 3:54 pm |
Hi Mum,
Today was the last day of our cruise. Tomorrow we will be in Athens, but I don’t think we’ll have any time to look around as we have a plane to catch. But anyway – I’ll tell you about today! It was another beautiful, hot, sunny day. And where did I spend it? In Santorini, which is a lovely Greek island. The church that you can see behind me is Santorini’s most famous church. We walked past the church and came across these lovely viewpoints. Then we walked up to the highest point on the island – it was quite a trek, let me tell you! But from there I could see the entire island. After the walk up there, we thought that we deserved a little rest at this lovely little café, where I enjoyed a nice iced coffee. We wandered around for a bit, and then decided that we should probably head back to the ship, as hostmum needs to pack! You can see our ship behind me. Love you Mum! HelgaHH |

Hi Mum,
I'm so tired right now, so this will be a very short entry. It's been a looong day travelling. We left Athens at 9am yesterday (Sunday) and have only just arrived back at hostmum's house today (Monday) at 1am. Before going to bed, I first said bye to Flummi, who is going to Germany (he must be really tired from all this travelling!). And now, it's time for bed! Love, HelgaHH |

These past few days have been quite relaxing, as hostmum has had a lot of unpacking and washing to do from our trip! So the others and myself have been keeping ourselves busy by hanging out in the garden. And I've found a great vantage point - from here I can see the entire garden! Love, HelgaHH |

Hi Mum,
I'm really excited about meeting my new host in Finland! First I had to make sure I wrote the address correctly... And then I said bye to all the Tvs. First was Lizzy Lizard. Followed by Sheela. Then Paula Hip wished me a good journey. And lastly, I said goodbye to Imperio. I think he got a bit emotional (so did I!) as we have become quite good friends. But I told him that I'm extremely excited to see Finland, and that he's going to have a great time here and wherever his next voyage takes him. Right, I better go, I don't want to be late for the post! Love, HelgaHH |

Theater and performance
Yesterday I was in a small theater called Miilu. I have a picture in front of it but of course we could not take pictures in the performance. But it was most interesting: One flew over the cuckoo's nest. Today I was in the scene of another performance, Zooppera. A story of Noah and his ark... And of a donkey called Nonni. I was the only ToyVoyager in the ark HelgaHH |

Hi everybody,
I arrived savely in Oldenburg after a comfortable and short journey in my envelope. The postcards I brought with me are so beautiful said my new host. A big "Thank you!" to Reissari! They will find a nice place at the fridge. Quickly I met Ping, the little tv-dog and we became friends. We shared my new scarf that looks very good at us two For now I finish, kisses to you mum, HelgaHH |

In the meantime Miggy from Switzerland arrived here and Ping and I get a new friend! Miggy is just round like me but I´m not that huge! He brought some tasty chocolate and a nice postcard. A very friendly pig, I have to say! |

This is my last trip in Oldenburg. Today we were at the "MeinTier" exhibition in the Weser-Ems-Halle in Oldenburg. It was great because I saw a lot of different pets there! My host get a photo with me and a cockroach! I didn´t know that you could have cockroaches as a pet... There were so many people and all kind of pets you could imagine: rabbits and guinea pigs, birds like chicken, budgies and ducks, snakes, turles, fish and of course horses, cats and dogs.
That was fun! |

Hello mum
yesterday I arrived quite early. No one was awake except host mum. She greets me warmly and told me to make me feel at home. I looked around the apartment and met a big, friendly cat. Then I sat down on a potted palm. In the kitchen, I chatted with host mum and nibbled at a piece of apple. Then woke up the other TV's. We introduced ourselves and everyone was very kind to me. I showed my postcard from Oldenburg and we shared the sweets I brought. I think I am going to have fun. Many greetings and kisses Helga HH |

Hello to all at home,
Yesterday we had to say goodbye to two friends. Carolin and Twix travel to their next host. We all have wished them a safe and pleasant journey. Maybe we'll meet again. Fortunately, both have the same goal and therefore can travel together. It was a bit of a sad Sunday. Two friends go away, the weather is bad. Therefore host mum made cheese fondue for dinner. Here in Switzerland, it is stated: Fondue is good and gives a good mood. It is true after the fondue and a glass of white wine, the mood was really better. Love you all HelgaHH |
Jasper Posted Nov 28, 2012, 3:47 pm |
Hello mum,
since I got here, the weather is bad. First it was foggy and there was a storm, now it's raining all day. But tomorrow it should snow, I can not wait. To pass the time host mum and all TV's made a Christmas wreath. I was responsible for the little moose. Does the wreath not look beautiful? Hugs and kisses HelgaHH |
Jasper Posted Nov 30, 2012, 1:44 pm |
Hi mum
it snowed. Everything is white. As host mum came home from work, she took me outside. Children had built a snowman. I hope it snows more. Then we can build a snowman by ourself. See you HelgaHH |
Jasper Posted Dec 3, 2012, 6:51 pm |
Hello mum,
Last week it was raining, so we could not get out. Now it's snowing like crazy and we can not get out again. Therefore, we visited a small animal exhibition. In addition to chickens and ducks, there were also many nice rabbits. I had some nice conversations and a bunny told me a secret. I had an enjoyable afternoon. Love you mum your HelgaHH |
Jasper Posted Dec 4, 2012, 1:18 pm |
Hello my dears
Today we use the nice weather for a walk in the snow. We had a great view of the snow-covered valley. Soon came back snow clouds. Home our host mum made a hot lemon tea. It did really well. In the evening we lit the first candle on the Advent wreath. Christmas is near. I think of you HelgaHH |
Jasper Posted Dec 5, 2012, 12:56 pm |
Hello my dears
Today, we have welcomed a new guest. It is Troot, a small sweet elephant from Finland. Host mum opened the envelope and each of us wanted to look into it. What a mess. Troot was a little intimidated. Then he climbed out bravely and we have warmly welcomed him. He brought with him a card, Christmas tea and a lollipop. The tea is for host mum, she loves Christmas tea. Our host brother has grabbed the lollipop. So nasty. That's it for today. Have a great time. HelgaHH P.S. I opened the 3rd door of the calendar and got the chocolate. |
Jasper Posted Dec 7, 2012, 6:54 pm |
Hi all,
It snows all the time. And we are waiting for Santa Claus. Maybe he will not come. Troot told us that Santa always comes., No matter how much snow is. Troot should know, he is from Finland. While we wait, the old Theodore tells a Christmas story. We have not seen Santa, but we heard him. He brought us nuts, tangerines, cookies and a chocolate Santa for each of us. We were all behaved TV's ;-)) Now we wait for Christmas. I think of you HelgaHH |
Jasper Posted Dec 9, 2012, 6:50 pm |
Hello mum,
The last days I was busy. I helped host mum to bake Christmas cookies. We baked a lot. Most of the cookies get host mum's dad, her brother and an elderly neighbor who lives alone. I had lots of fun and it smelled sooo good. Think of you mum HelgaHH |
Jasper Posted Dec 12, 2012, 3:28 pm |
Hi all,
Today was a Hello and Goodbye day. First we welcomed Lancel, a little rabbit. She is the third Bunny here. And then we said goodbye to Mr. Wilson. He's moved on to Germany, where he will spend Christmas. That's it for today HelgaHH |
Jasper Posted Dec 12, 2012, 7:21 pm |
Hello mum and all the loved ones at home,
after a week of snow and icy roads we could go outside again today. Wonderful winter weather. As host mum came home from work, she grabbed us immediately into her bag and off we went. We walked up a forest path. The sun was shining through the trees. So much snow. Above we saw pristine snow. We had a wonderful view. This walk was lovely. I hope you enjoy the pictures. your HelgaHH |
Jasper Posted Dec 16, 2012, 2:47 pm |

Hello dear mum.
Today I was able to accompany host mum to work. She is responsible for inventory management and shipping to a company for hotel and kitchen supplies. First I visited her office. It is not ready set up, they moved just two weeks ago. Then I looked at the warehouse. Thousands of kitchen towels, tablecloths, napkins, aprons and more. Even here was Santa Claus. It was great to see what host mum does when she is not at home. Love you mum HelgaHH |

Hi mommy and all the loved ones at home,
I had a very merry Christmas. On Christmas Eve we have decorated the Christmas tree with host dad. Sorry if some pictures are blurred. We laughed so much as host dad fought with the fairy lights. I had the same problem. The Christmas tree looks wonderful. Then came the big moment. Everybody got his gift. I got a cuddly blanket with large flowers. Now I always can sit next to red flowers. Hugs and kisses HelgaHH P.S. Many thanks for the Christmas card and greetings to HoBi and Murph. |
Jasper Posted Dec 30, 2012, 2:37 pm |
Hello mum,
it's so boring. Since Christmas, it is raining and storming. We can not get out. Now I sit on my flower blanket and look at beautiful winter weather on the computer. I hope that we will soon have this weather again. Hugs and kisses Helga |

Happy New Year
mum, I wish you and all the loved ones at home a happy and healthy new year. After a great dinner, we watched a bit of television to sell us the time. Then host brother has ignited table fireworks. We had great fun with all the funny things. Later we listened to the church bells and welcomed the New Year with champagne. Then we watched the fireworks. As our host family went to slepp, we have emptied the remaining bottles. May be this was a little much for some of us but we had a great party. And the party will go on, we have in fact two birthday kids. But that's another story. Love you all HelgaHH |
Jasper Posted Jan 6, 2013, 8:03 pm |
Hello mum
after three weeks of rain (host mother can not remember such a terrible winter) we were finally able to back outside. No sun but dry. We all wanted to play in the snow. And for snow we had up high, very high. Sledding on Schwägalp was funny. Then host mum had the idea of visiting the Santis. So we took the cable car and were on our way to Säntis peak. At the top station we admired an exhibition of various museums around. We could not tell us how a car (a Rolls Royce vintage cars) comes up here. Then we reached the summit. It was so cold and windy. Everything was frozen. This is the weather station. And that's the big TV antenna. In the souvenir shop, I met other ladybugs. On our way back we even saw the sun. It was a wonderful day. Yours, HelgaHH |
Jasper Posted Jan 9, 2013, 6:49 pm |
Hello mum,
Today we said goodbye to Meomie. She continues her journey and will visit Germany. We sang a song of farewell and wished a safe journey. On Saturday we will have a great trip. Host mum will not tell us where we go. All we know is that we take the train, and the rest is a surprise. I can not wait. your HelgaHH |
Jasper Posted Jan 13, 2013, 1:44 pm |
Hello mommy
Yesterday morning we had to get up very early. At 7 clock we sat on the train. Our first stop was Zurich. There, we had just enough time to photograph the station and to find out where the journey takes. We will travel to Basel. Basel is one of the oldest cities in Switzerland, located on the River Rhine. The city, near the border with Germany and France is known for its chemical industry. After our arrival in Basel, we saw only a few steps from the train station Strasbourg Monument and the Bank for International Settlements. Our route took us to Elisabeth church next to the Theatre. We had a short break at the Tinguely fountain. This fountain, called Fasnacht Fountain was a gift of a great food discounter to the city of Basel. Then we saw the Basel Cathedral, located on the cathedral hill high above the Rhine. We had a magnificent view of the river and part of the city. The skyscrapers that you see in the center of the image, is the fair tower. Through narrow streets we found our way to the river Rhine. We crossed the "Middle Bridge" and could see the old town from the other side. On our way back we saw the red city hall. It was built in 1504-1514. After these many impressions we were exhausted and slept through the journey home. I hope you like Basel as much as I. Greetings, HelgaHH |
Jasper Posted Jan 18, 2013, 1:26 pm |
Hello mum,
Troot left us today. He traveled further to new adventures in another part of Switzerland. We had a small farewell party with cupcakes. Host dad had secretly eaten a TV Muffin, therefore Troot had to eat a big one. Then he packed his things and slipped into the envelope. We all wished him a good trip and checked that everything was in order. After his departure, some of us also grabbed the wanderlust. We have told a long time from our travels. Love you mum, bye bye. HelgaHH |
Jasper Posted Jan 20, 2013, 12:28 pm |
Hi mommy,
because the weather at the moment is not really good, we had freezing rain and it was dangerously slippery, I train Rocky Raccoon for his journey. Also, I've given him a few tips, what is worth seeing in Hamburg. He wants to watch the Beatles monument. I hope the weather gets better and we can back outside. Until then, your HelgaHH |
Jasper Posted Jan 22, 2013, 7:57 pm |
Hello mum,
my last day in Switzerland. Tomorrow I will leave, to go home. At the last second, I took advantage of the opportunity to fulfill one of my life missons. I was sitting on top of a snowman. Then I looked at the last sunset. And now we have a party, a farewell party for me and Rocky Raccoon who sets off on on his first trip. I'll see you soon mum. HelgaHH P.S. Happy birthday HolgiHH |
Jasper Posted Jan 23, 2013, 2:36 pm |
Hello home
Yesterday we had another farewell party. I will go back home, and Rocky Raccoon starts his first journey. Host mum baked a cake and took a group photo. As long as one can show us yet, she said. Then we ate cake and potato chips and crackers. We drank one or another glass of wine. Late at night we came upon a sentimental mood. Hase sang with fervor sad songs until host mum woke up and reminded us that even more people live in this house who want to sleep now. We had a last drink and went to bed. This morning it was time. I said goodbye to my friends with a group hug and packed my things. Host mum cuddled me and wished me a safe journey. Then I climbed into my envelope. Traveling is a wonderful thing, but nothing is better than coming home. Mum, I'm on my way to you. Helga |

Hi Mommy,
today we started our journey to London! I was so excited! So we got up at 3 o'clock in the morning and took the train at 5 a.m. We arrived in Munich at around 7.45 a.m. , went to the airport via S-Bahn and had to wait for another 3 hours until our plane left. The airport was really lovely. So big!! We saw an airplane of the 'airberlin' company. It looked quite small through the window. I wasn't scared of flying but when we finally arrived at London Heathrow airport I was really glad to stand again It took us quite a while to find our hotel because the way wasn't explained very well on the homepage and the people we asked couldn't really help us. Nevertheless we found it in the end ... the rooms looked very old but the beds were comfortable ^_^ It was a long day and we were so tired, so before we went to bed we cleared out our suitcases and read the newspaper. 'Evening standard' , one of the papers you can get everywhere for free in London Hugs, Helga |
WingedWolf Posted May 29, 2013, 3:04 pm |
Hiiiii ~
today we got up early in the morning, had breakfast (toast with marmalade and a cup of black tea) and left the hotel. First we took the Tube to Euston Square and saw this nice College *__* A few meters away there was this awesome skyscraper! Wow, how high do you think it is? We went to Piccadilly Circus afterwards where you can find this big advertising space and the Shaftesbury Memorial Fountain on the right. A red telephone box! Love, Helga |
WingedWolf Posted May 29, 2013, 3:21 pm |
Good morning,
we went to the Buckingham Palace today! *___* I think the gates looked rather impressive but the building itself is quite dull. You can see the famous guards here. It's nice to watch them, they are always marching in step! Our next stop was Trafalgar Square, the biggest public square in London. You can see Nelson's Column here, it's 51m tall. In the background (behind the fountain) there's the National Gallery. Hugs, Helga |
WingedWolf Posted May 29, 2013, 3:38 pm |
Hello,
I saw the London Eye today, the biggest ferris wheel in Europe! We even took a ride. Wow, what a nice view over London. *__* Later we went to see the Big Ben. Brrr, it was sooooo cold and started to rain in the evening That's why we decided to go to the cinema instead to watch "Star Trek Into Darkness". Host-mum and her friends have already watched it 2 weeks ago in Germany but wanted to hear the english voices ;> Such a nice movie!!! When we got back to the hotel we wrote a few postcards! Kisses, Helga |

Hi mom,
this is my last update from London We went to see the St. Bartholomew's hospital today ^_^ The St. Paul's Cathedral wasn't far away. It's stunning! We also went to the Tower Bridge in the morning and could see the Tower of London Back in the hotel we had a small farewell party with a pile of sweets We took a last look out of our hotel window and left for the airport. Stripes and I had a really good time here and we'll miss London But it feels nice to come back as well Love, Helga |

Hello mommy,
after all the rain in Bavaria it was finally warm again today so we took the chance and went to the nearby Max Reger Park in Weiden. You can see the "Max Reger Halle" in the background here, it's a very big and nice building where a lot of interesting festivals take place! Look! We even saw a small mouse, it's so cute! In the park there even is a playground! We saw a lot of small sweet birds in cages! That's host-mum's favourite place in the park! ^o^ Hugs, Helga |
WingedWolf Posted Jun 24, 2013, 7:53 pm |
Hey :3
Today was a really foggy morning and when we walked through host-mum's hometown Mantel, we came by this construction area where they are currently building a new house! Later we went to the market place ^__^ You can see the small post office here ... ... as well as the two churches and the pharmacy To get to host-mum's workplace we took the bus! I sat down next to the computer screen and watched everyone working! ^w^ It was a funny day! Hugs, Helga |

I totally forgot to tell you that I am back home again. Today some TVs visited us. It was so nice to see them! Then we had some delicious cakes. Can you see how hot it was? The chocolate melted. We ate a lot – it was yummy! Then Dicker Kumpel got a present by Helmut. Delicious drinks. We spent the afternoon relaxing in the sunshine and of course we talked a lot! Then it was time to say goodbye to our friends. Cuddling is great – so we had a big cuddle. Love HelgaHH |

Today said Fanny that we drive to a big thing... What could it be? Look! I'm in Ulm, a city in Baden-Wuerttemberg and behind me is the "big thing". This is the cathetral of Ulm, the highest church steeple of the world! 161,53 m! It was very hot so we go to a beer garden and drank some. It's wonderful under the chestnut trees! |

Dear Mom,
today: sight seeing. Where: Wuerzburg. The weather wasn't so good but that doesn't stop us . First we go to the World Heritage Sites: the Residence. It was built from Balthasar Neumann from 1720 - 1744. The "Franconia" fountain. The "Hofkeller". This is one of the ten biggest Individual German wine growers. The wonderful garden of the Residence. I like it here! Perfect place for ladybugs! Look the trees! We take a little break. Wuerzburg had many churches. This is the "Kilians-Dom". Here are the mortal remains from St. Kilian. The cathedral. The fortress "Marienburg". Two ships on the river "Main". On the other side is the "Alter Kranen". In this house detected Wilhelm Conrad Roentgen on 8. November 1895 the X-Rays. In 1901 Röntgen was awarded the firth Nobel Prize in Physics. At last we drove to the "Steinburg". I had a great view over the city. I hope you like my trip to Wuerzbug! Big kiss, HelgaHH |

Hello!
Today I visited the city of Bamberg. The oldtown of Bamberg is very beautiful and interesting because it is a UNESCO World Heritage Site. This is the river "Regnitz". First I show you the "Altes Rathaus" (Old Town Hall). The painting on the house wall is amazing! Behind me is "Klein-Venedig" (Little Venice). There we go now. Here we are! "Little Venice" are very old buildings from the fishermen. This is the cathetral. Beside the cathetral is the "Alte Hofhaltung" (Old Court). Bamberg was built on 7 hills like Rome. One of this hills is the "Altenburg". This was my little tour through Bamerg. I hope you like it! Bye, Helga HH |

Today I will show you the city of Schweinfurt.
Here isn't much to see... Schweinfurt is a typical little industrial city... The theater. A fountain beside the theater. In Schweinfurt the ball bearing was invented. This is a really big one... On the river "Main". Then we go to an Ice cream parlour. It was a surprise for rosemarie because one of her Life Mission is to eat a large icecream. And we??? rosemarie is a very nice guinea pic! I may also eat some ice cream! Yummi! |

Hello Mom!
Sorry that I don't write the last two weeks... I've to take care of my host. We're all so sad because Sammy the cat is missing since 2 weeks ... We search him and call out his name in the night but nothing... We peg up this missing-paper in the neightborhood. Wish us luck that we find him or that he comes home! But today arrived a new TV! Look! I's Nymeria from Spain! We give her a warm welcome! Kiss, Helga |
beelicious Posted Oct 31, 2013, 1:45 pm |
Hello Mom!
I don't have good news... Sammy is still gone... We search him again but we don't find him... And hostmom is sick, so we spend a lot of time at home. If the weather is fine tomorrow, we make a little trip. But today arrived an envelope for us. Look! It's Jules! She's so sweet! She is very excited because it's her first travel! We gave her a warm welcome! See you soon! Helga |
beelicious Posted Nov 4, 2013, 4:14 pm |
Today the weather wasn't good so we helped hostdad in the kitchen: Irish-Cream-Cake and Pizza!
First we made the dough for the pizza. The tomato sauce is simmering. The dough grows! Roll out the dough. Nymeria helps me! Topping. Done! We made 2 varieties of Pizza. Yummie! For dessert we bake a cake. We helped all together! Ready for the oven now. Done! It smells delicious! Yummie! It was a wonderful day! HelgaHH |

HI MUM!
Today I found myself in Finland - again! I lived a few very nervewrecking moments when the mailman shoved me through the mail slot but for all fortune I made it through and soon got to say hi to my new host Tuija and pose for the first photo. Unfortunately we were unable to take more pictures this time, but more will follow soon! Lots of hugs and greetings from Tuija, too <3 Helga |

Hi again Mom!
Hostmom took me with her when she went to her Russian class this evening. It was held in Kaukametsä which is a congress and culture centre. I took a look around while hostmom was studying and found a cool miniature exhibition of felted toys and decorations. Felted shoes! I bet those might keep your feel warm. There was also a very old sewing machine: Lastly, I picked some brochures of Kajaani. I'll study some sights and maybe we'll go see something sometime this week Good night mommy! <3 ~Helga |
Tatterdemalion tuiaway@aol.com Posted Jan 30, 2014, 9:47 am |
Look Mom! It's a beautiful day.
Let's go for a walk! There's a funny sun dial by the riverbank. And a nice view to downtown Kajaani. The Sun kissed my nose <3 Something is being built there... Hostmom said we'll go check it again one of these days because it's going to be something fun! I can't wait. We walked past at a small park by the market square. There we found Per Brahe, the establisher of this city. Also, there was a playground - hostmom promised we'd come and check it out sometime. |
Tatterdemalion tuiaway@aol.com Posted Jan 30, 2014, 10:01 am |
Oh, Mom! You'll never believe what we saw next as we continued our walk.
Can you see what's in the background? There are ruins of an old castle! This is pretty cool. The castle is from the 17th century. We went to explore the ruins straight away. We climbed up some stairs... They were really slippery but I could travel upstairs in hostmom's pocket. Can you see me in this picture?? This sight was plenty of fun! We were getting a bit cold, though, so we headed forward to the city library. |
Tatterdemalion tuiaway@aol.com Posted Jan 30, 2014, 10:09 am |
I made a new friend today. He lives in the library. (:
I also climbed a cute fantasy tree which branches were decorated with country flags - for every nationality living in Kainuu (the province where Kajaani is located. Kajaani is the capital of the province.) The tree had funny roots :3 On our way back home, do you even believe, something caught my eye! I could hardly believe it. MY SIGNATURE TOY SHOP! ^_____^ Mom, I'm so happy. Hopefully you are, too. Miss you! <3 ~ Helga |
Tatterdemalion tuiaway@aol.com Posted Jan 31, 2014, 9:14 pm |
Today was fun!
We decorated some chocolate brownies that were shaped like hearts and stars. We added some melted choco and white chocolate, and even sprinkles on them and they turned out pretty delicious (: I took a nice bite from the one I decorated Here's some yummy pics for you to see. |
Tatterdemalion tuiaway@aol.com Posted Jan 31, 2014, 9:52 pm |
Hi Mom!
Remember when I told you about something that was being built in Kajaani? Well, today we walked past it again and it had indeed advanced. At the moment it looks like walls of snow... and some of it was decorated with adorable heart sculptings. What will it be? A snow castle maybe? I can't wait to see what the completed thing will look like! Another thing we did today was cinema! We watched a movie that told a sad story of a woman looking for her lost son after 50 years of being separated. I consoled myself with eating some candy we had bought... This is my only evidence of the cinema experience for now - two pics from inside the building got a bit lost but we have high hopes to recover them when we go back to Kajaani After the film I got a ride in hostmom's backpack and the next thing I knew was that we were in a train! It was full of people so we had to be very courteous with taking photos. I tried to look out of window to check where we were going but it was pitch black outside already because it was very late in the afternoon. Well, we eventually got somewhere - we were in a city called Oulu, and we had traveled 200 km to west. It was cold outside and we had to hurry a bit to catch a bus... which was also full of people! Phew, it was a very typical Friday's rush hour. I will tell you about Oulu the next time I write (: After the bus ride we arrived in Kiiminki which is hostmom's childhood hometown. Kiiminki is actually a part of Oulu these days (since 2013) but it's 20 kilometres away from the city centre so it was like going to another town. There was somebody waiting for us: It was Yuma who had flown there all the way from Alaska. We welcomed him warmly. So that was all from today. A lot happened and I think we'll go to sleep now! Good night! |
Tatterdemalion tuiaway@aol.com Posted Feb 5, 2014, 1:04 pm |
On Sunday we met some of hostmom's friends who have the awesomest pets. First we met some cats, and this brave kitty posed with us.
We took a car ride to see another friend. It was a speedy ride - during it we played the game of "77 Quirky Questions And Amusing Answers". Helga: "Do you believe that Santa Claus exists?" Yuma: "Aye, if I haven't got anything to eat all day!" Once we got to our destination, there were some furry friends waiting for us. Guess what this is!! It was sooo fuzzy and cute - a Shetland Pony! And its baby was even fuzzier, as you can see! And here is Nala the dog. She was a very cheery and lively dog who loved guarding the ponies. |
Tatterdemalion tuiaway@aol.com Posted Feb 5, 2014, 2:33 pm |
On Monday morning me and Yuma went out on the backyard to see if we could find anything interesting. Well, we did! First we climbed to a maple tree and from there I noticed some animal footprints in the snow. We went to inspect them at once! They turned out to have been made by a squirrel and some pheasants that live around the neigbourhood. Squirrel's path: Pheasants' path: Sitting on a blackcurrant bush. I kinda wished it would've been leafier. (for softness, you know!) We took a look at the front yard: And slided down a pile of snow on a cool sled: That was not everything that happened on Monday... I'll tell you about it soon ~ Helga |

Hi Mom,
Here's a sneak peak of our trip in he city of Oulu on Monday, February 3rd. Photos will follow! A Wall of Snow <3 Helga |
Tatterdemalion tuiaway@aol.com Posted Feb 6, 2014, 9:06 am |
So on Monday afternoon we made a small trip to Oulu which is one of the biggest cities in Finland, areally and for population. There are a little over 190,000 inhabitants. Hostmom's homwtown Kiiminki is these days a part of this city - in 2013, four neighbouring municipalities were attached to Oulu.
We begun the tour on Rotuaari, the pedestrian area of the city centre were there are shops, cafés and restaurants. Then we walked to the marketplace. We took a look at the surrounding buildings and to the pier. At the marketplace stood a handsome building called "Kauppahalli". That's the market hall! We walked inside and asked one of the personnell if we could take a couple of photos. It was allowed. Nom, lollies! When we stepped out of the market hall, our interest was drawn by a stout policeman. He's called Toripolliisi. We learned that he is a symbol of Oulu - he's a very well-known figure and one of the things every newcomer will see when coming to the city. So, of course we wanted to say hello to him at once when we heard how famous he is! Now we spotted behind our backs the very thing I showed you in the video yesterday. The wall of snow! Some things left unrevealed as our camera run out of battery! Fortunately, hostmom said, this wasn't our only trip to Oulu - we will return there next week and maybe catch more of the city. ~Helga |

Early on Tuesday morning we settled up for the Journey back to hostmom's place in Kajaani. There was a beautiful dawn, and we were very excited. The road was long but we saw many towns on the way (didn't even catch all of them on camera) and hostmom read us Around the World in 80 Days to pass the time.
We faced a bit of trouble loading the pics on my travelog so this time you'll find most of them on hostmom's TV blog which she has set up. Here's something, though... |

Hi Mom!
It's been a few days since my last post but here I am again On Friday we took a bus to Kuhmo, a town 100 km east from Kajaani. That's almost as east as you can go before you'll find yourself in Russia! We discovered that life in Kuhmo is just as peaceful as anywhere in the world... You can see by yourself here: Sightseeing tour in felted boots (also called "huopikkaat" and "vinkkelit" in Finnish) Waching telly... Sitting amongst flowers... Finding out that even the most suspicious individuals.... ...may be able to stun you with friendliness if you give them a chance. Taking your new friend for a walk... Climbing tall and not so tall trees... ...and finding that one tree which feels like it had been made just for you. Going chameleon with funny street signs... Stalking pigeons... And spending a night eating candy and watching an exciting and funny film with your current traveling companion. |

Hi Mom! Today I have another small video for you. We went bicycling and I got to ride at the front with Yuma.
Look at me go! Here, we also took a couple of pics! |

Hi Mom!
It's been quite long since I last wrote to you. Hostmom says sorry for not doing updates but now you're going to get a few of them (: So, the after we went bicycling we went to see that snow castle that's being built by the riverwalk - I think I mentioned it earlier. We had lots of fun climbing up and down the walls and admiring the scupltures. There was a beautiful wall of snow hearts, a tunnel, a snow mushroom (or something like that ) and much more. I hope everything's wonderful back home! I miss you mama <3 |

A new ToyVoyager arrived today! Her name is Prajna and she comes from Bali - or actually, she flew from Germany where she had spent the last few weeks.
We welcomed her heartily. She brought some gifts from Germany... A cool postcard and some candies (: We decided to throw a party to celebrate her arrival so we blew some balloons and set a plateful of those yummies on hostmom's soft red rug in the livingroom. Eventually we ate so much that we had to take a rest... But afterwards we played a game of The Wobbling Tower. In it you take out blocks from a wooden tower and insert them on the top. The game ends when the tower (eventually!) crashes down. Watch out there, Prajna...! It ended with a bit of chaos but we got some good laughs out of it, too Happy together! (: |

Wow, this is quite a traveling time for us. Very early on Wednesday morning, February 12, we jumped in a train and made our way to Oulu again. Hostmom said she's living some exciting times and during the next week or so we'll get to know what is taking us back to this place.
But first things first. The train ride took two hours and was very comfy. We got cookies for breakfast and just relaxed We arrived in Oulu at 8:30 and took a look around at the railway station. From the station we proceeded to the city centre. In a small park we said hello to two cranes who were very noble guys indeed. From a white bridge leading across a small stream we saw something rather grand - it was the city hall. By the way - did you know that the city of Oulu is 499 years old? We went closer to see the city hall and also saw the tower of the main cathedral in the city. It was opened in 1777 - that's quite long ago as well! We had to go run some errands before leaving so it was time to put cameras aside for that morning. Anyway, it was nice to see more of this city |

Hey hey mom!
One weekend we spent at a summer cottage in Rovaniemi, which is a city up by the arctic circle. The cottage itself wasn't in the city, though, but some 70 kilometres southeast from there, in a village called Juotas. Anyway, it was quite an adventure! We enjoyed sledding And guess what else! Looks like a helmet... and a driver! On a snow mobile! Afterwards I warmed myself up by the fireplace. It was evening already and the warmth felt so cozy... Next day we engaged into sauna bathing... and heating the stove! Hot cocoa followed We enjoyed it graciously. All in all, I got a pretty nice touch to wintery Lapland. |
Tatterdemalion tuiaway@aol.com Posted Feb 26, 2014, 9:45 am |
We got a new TV friend today! We gave her a hearty welcome.
Her name is Rachel and this is her very first world adventure. She flew all the way fro China and brought us some souvenirs - a pretty Chinese New Year's card and some sweet treats. I think they had peanut in them... they tasted good! We took a swing in a rocking chair together, all four of us. Having a happy time together! |
Tatterdemalion tuiaway@aol.com Posted Feb 26, 2014, 12:48 pm |
Helping hostmom to wrap a present for her brand new niece who is only five days old... afterwards we will hop on a train again and head to Nivala, the very same town where we rode ponies a few weeks ago. This time we'll be staying there for a few nights.
An update will follow... |

My last days in Finland are at hand! It's been quite a month.
Right before leaving I get some goodbye hugs from the cuddliest kitty cat in the town :3 Then I head outside and to the post office. It's a sunny day - there haven't been many of those since I came. It's the time of the year... But my mind is sunny! I've met some lovely new friends and had quite a lot of fun Thank you Yuma, Rachel and Prajna! And now I just can't wait to see my mommy again! I think you'll get some mail soon Love love love, Helga <3 |

Hello friends,
Some days ago I arrived back in Sülfeld. It was strange, Dicker Kumpel was not here to welcome me. But fortunately NiliHH arrived back home, too. I went outside in the garden and enjoyed the sunshine, when I heard a noise from the living-room. My brothers and sisters came back from a cruise – we had so much to talk about. Yours HelgaHH |

Hello friends,
Today was Easter – and I met the Easter Bunny! I got some chocolate – this was nice! I visited my grandma. Look, there were funny bunnies. And wonderful flowers. I met these hens – I think they worked hard for Easter. Maybe these were the children of the hens? Happy Easter to all of you! Yours HelgaHH |

I am on Amrum Island and today we walked on the dike. I saw the Northern end of Amrum. And enjoyed the sunshine. Then we went to the side with the dunes. This one was really steep. It was a wonderful walk. Yours HelgaHH |

Hello friends,
Together with my brothers and sisters I am on a Cruise Ship. And what are you doing on a Ship? Yes, relaxing. But what is more important – we wanted to have a party! We knew, where the good drinks were! There! But they were high above us, what shall we do? Good news – I can fly, so I flew to the drinks… …threw it to the others and jumped back to them. We brought it back to our place and everybody chose his or her famous drink. Look, what I chose. And I took some delicious chocolate! Well – it was fun – I shouldn’t say more. Yours HelgaHH |

Hello friends,
An exciting day – I will see the Hatta Dessert! We had a short stop next to these camels – and the drivers took air out of the wheels. Behind me you can see the cars. Unfortunately it was younger than this old car. Then we started – it was amazing – and the car drove in a funny way. Our first stop in the desert was next to this rock – called Camel Rock. We had great views into the red desert. This driver wanted to be the best – but he drove so bad, that his car couldn’t drive anymore. It was so beautiful here! Look, I sit on our car with Dicker Kumpel and Stoker. The second stop was at the Fossil Rock. The view was so nice! It was such an exciting trip! On the way back we drove through the mountains and I looked out of the window. Yours HelgaHH |

Hello friends,
I have been in Norway. We had a wonderful holiday home – with great views and a lot of snow! My siblings and I enjoyed the sunshine. One day we went to another Fjord today – the way to it was beautiful. What a wonderful place. Behind the curve was the Grotfjord. A really nice place! Back home we sat at the fireplace! I have arrived with my friend UrselHH to Oregon USA. Right away my host introduced us to some of her TV friends that live here. They were all very nice and wanted to hear about our travels. |
JelloPuddin Posted May 1, 2016, 6:48 pm |
When I arrived my host realized I needed to be outside to get some fresh air and to smell the beautiful flowers she had growing there.
I got to sit on the rhodys and the beautiful clematis in white and lavender. Another day I will get to see more of her garden. It started to rain very hard so we went indoors. |

Hello friends,
I am so excited – because I am in Pisa. I always wanted to see this place. Many other people had the same idea – but there was enough place for all of us. Behind me you see the wonderful buildings on the Place of Wonders. The left one is the baptistery – the biggest baptistery of the world. This is the Cathedral and the famous leaning tower of Pisa. First we went into the baptistery – for a demonstration of the acoustic. I liked the big baptistic font. Then we went into the big Cathedral, there were some renovations – but however it was beautiful. RikeH had a new camera – and she is able to take photos of me like a ghost… The leaning tower leans a lot! Then we walked through the old city of Pisa. We went to a big place with beautiful houses. We had a last look at the wonderful Place of Wonders, when we walked back to the bus. Love HelgaHH |

Hello friends,
At the moment I am in Australia with my Mum RikeH and my sibblings. I want to show you our holiday house. This was the nice view from our veranda over a small lake. The lake was really beautiful. You can see our cottage there. We had enough place to relax in the living-room. Then we drove to Busselton. They have a 1,8 km long jetty there. A small train drove on it, but we preferred walking. Look, see-gulls with their chicken. We were far away from the coast. But there was a longer way to walk. No idea, what this was – probably arts… Look, a Fisher man. Back on the safe land, we saw this old crane. It was nice here. Then we continued our trip to Mandurah. The weather wasn’t so nice here. However it was beautiful. We walked over this high bridge. There were many small boats. And surely arts again. The view from our next apartment was nice, too. There were many beautiful birds on the stone in the lake, but there were too far away for photos with me. Yours HelgaHH |

Hello friends,
I am on Amrum Island at the moment. Nebel is one of my favorite places on Amrum. Look – this sign is so beautiful. This is the wonderful mill. There was a busy farmer working on the field – and the sea gulls loved it. There were many thatched houses. The Öömrang-Hüs is the most famous one. This was the mud flat side of Amrum – you can see Föhr in the distance. But I liked the view in this direction, too. Then we reached the church. They arranged the tomb stones in a new order. And you can read comments about it in the web. The church. The interior of it is with many wood – I like it. On our way back we saw another nice house. Amrum has a lot of nice places! Love HelgaHH |
