Hello everyone!
First of all thank you very much for reading my travelog. My name is Bambi and I'm a baby deer who would like to discover the world. Please send a PM to my mentor if you're interested in hosting me. However, before I leave I'd like to show you a bit of my hometown Heidelberg. This is the Hotel Zum Ritter. It was built in 1592 and was the only house which survived the great fire from 1635 because it was stone-built and not wooden like the other houses. The Old Bridge was built in 1788. There were 8 other bridges at the same place before that one but they were all destroyed. I live in the south of Heidelberg. There are a lot of fields nearby and the forested mountains aren't far away, either. Lots of love, Bambi |

I'm so excited. My envelope is ready and I've been given a travel tag so that I can't get lost. Now I'm starting my first journey. Nuriayasmin spent a couple of days in Luxembourg in September and told me it's a very beautiful country so I'm happy it's my first destination. Good-bye, everyone and talk to you soon.

Hello, Mummy!
I savely arrived at Lichtenfels. It was a long trip, but now I am here. When I sat in the envelope I heared nervous vioces outside. This were Trudi, Baerbel and Fussel. They helped me out of the envelope and I had a warm welcome. Imagine, I have my own bed! To have it comfortable my host gave me a tree, so I feel like in the forest My hosts were pleased to the present I brought along. I think I will like my time here! Now I am tired and go to bed. Tomorrow my host mum will show me the city. In the weekend we eventually will visit a wild life zoo, we shurely will visit the christmas forest in the city Have a good night, huggies and a kiss Your Bambi |

Dear Mummy,
today I wake up in the sunshine! So my hostmum and I decided to take a walk into the neighbourhood. We saw a few pretty places, e.g. a little church and some rough nature. Unfortunately the weather changed and it got cloudy. After we rested we went to a shopping center and had a lot of fun Look at me with golden hair, I ever dreamed of it Before coming home I saw the slide. I was allowed to take a ride Now we have lunch. Have a nice day, mummy, your Bambi |
Takata Posted Dec 16, 2011, 10:10 am |
Hey Mummy!
Uuuuuuuuuuuaaaaaaaaaaaaaahhhhhhhhhhhhh! What a louzy weather outside! Rain the whole night, rain the whole day (up to now!) But inside we had a great event! Trudi the duck is sitting on an egg since I arrived. I wonder why??? Suddenly we heared a noise, like cracking. Curious! We looked at the egg!!! Wooooooooooooooow! There is something inside!!!! Trudi incubated a little dinosaur! I welcomed him in the world! We baptised him on the name Tino. We think, that is a great name for a dinosaur |
Takata Posted Dec 20, 2011, 9:51 am |
Hi Mummy!
Yesterday I had a lot of work! I prepared my own omelette! I mixed the eggs, roasted leek and cut the tomatoes. After that everything came together with cheese in the pan and the pan came into the oven. Wowwwwwwwwww, what a delicious vegetarian meal! Today there was a little bit of snow in the garden. I went to the balkony for fresh air. And there I met a bear! Made of wood. My hostmum explained me, it was a souvenir from their trip through California in May. Curious! Wish you a nice week! Love you, Mummy! Your Bambi |
Takata Posted Dec 25, 2011, 8:55 am |
Dear Mummy!!!
I wish yoooooooooooou a merry christmas!!! We had a surprise yesterday! A little box arrived and we wondered what´s in it. I looked in and discovered a little dog! It was Klaus-Bärbel! He will stay for a few weeks with us and brought some presents with him. One for me, one for Fussel. We will stay at home today and have a nice and comfortable day! Love you Mummy and send you huggies! Your Bambi |
Takata Posted Jan 4, 2012, 3:02 pm |
Hi Mummy!
At first: I wish you a happy new year! May all your dreams come true! Today the postman rang and brought us a package. Me and Klaus-Bärbel opened the envelope and we wondered what was inside! At first we saw to big foots. But then came a nice penguin out, called Waffels He is called Waffels because he loves waffels. I think we will bake them soon Have a nice day! Love you, Bambi |
Takata Posted Jan 6, 2012, 1:50 pm |
Dear Mummy!!!!!!!!!!!!!
What a great day! I fullfilled one of my lifemissions! The day seems not to be so bad weather as the last weeks and so we decided to go to the wildlife zoo in Tambach. My hostmum promised me a big surprise! I wondered what it should be. She showed me the leaflet of the zoo. We planned to go to the wild pigs and certainly to the different deers! We saw them behind a fence. Buuuuuuuut, then came the surpise! We were allowed to go into the fence! And I even could feed one of the deers! It was soooooooooooo amazing! It has sooooooooo big eyes! Now I am still very impressed! It was great! Mummy, huggies and kisses for ýou! Your Bambi |

What a evening, what a morning!
Yesterday hostmum was at work the whole day and hostdad repaired the tumbler in the cellar. We talked to the plushys living here what to do. Knabber (the big mouse in the cool pink shirt) had an idea! He knew that there is a bottle of mead (honey wine) in the storageroom. We thought about to carry it to the kitchen. We had an idea! We all helped together and it worked! Fussel rolled the bottle into the kitchen. We bulit a lifting block to lift the bottle on the oven. The dog Solvang tool the bottle on his back and so we could pour the mead in the pot. Ooooooooo, it tasted sooooooooooooo yummie!!! But: the day after was terrible Never ever alcohol... this week |
Yosemite Posted Jan 22, 2012, 9:16 am |
Hey Mummy!
What a good start in the day! All TVs made with hostmum and hostdad breakfast! We had fresh biskuits and croissants from the bakery. I was allowed to cut the cucumber. We layed one slice on each piece of biskuit. It tasted very fine! So could start every day! Kisses and a nice sunday for you! Bambi |
Yosemite Posted Jan 28, 2012, 2:58 pm |
Hello, my dear Mummy!
Today I woke up in the morning and everything was white. It snowed the whole night! Do you remeber the slide I used a few weeks ago? There is now a lot of snow on it. Hostmum picked the little sleigh out of the storage room. I took a ride in the snow! I hope there will be more snow tomorrow! Love you, Bambi |

Hey Mummy!
Brrrrrrrrrrrrrr, louzy cold outside! But because we had blue sky we wanted to make a short walk. We were at the river "Main", near to my hostmums house. The meadows were full of water and now there is a nice ice for skating! We took some impressing photos. The last photo shows the river. Usually it is a river. But in the moment there is only ice! Hope the spring comes soon! Love you, Mummy! Your Bambi |

Hi mum! Sorry for beeing careless with updating travellog previous weeks. My hostmum asked a friend of her to took me to Costa Rica and she was very enthused. So I went on journey for two weeks. It was an adventuresome trip. We crest a vulcan, visited a cacao and coffee plantage, were flying through the jungle, were riding a horse for 4hours, have met crocodiles, poisonous frogs and snakes, and have done a lot of funny things more. Because we had a very close program my new hostmum hadn't time to take a lot of pics.
One week we were spending on caribic beach and one week on pacific beach. We crossed the country with a car. The streets in costa rica are very adventuresome we had to cross big rivers with crocodiles inside (without a brigde!). |

Hi mum!
Today my hostmum took us to the "old" and the "new" landmark of city graz (The clock tower was the landmark dating back to the time before Graz had its island in the middle of river Mur = new landmark ). Our first stop was the island. It was built in 2003. from the island you can already see the clock tower We crossed the island. church "Mariahilf" It looks very nice..doesn't it!? Next stop: the clockt tower. It's one of the city's oldest buildings (1265) and one of the most beautiful ! It's possible to get uphill by feet (206 steps), by elevator or by cable car. We decided to take the exhausting way let's go! puuuuuuuuuuuhhh! be careful with the thorns au au auuuu such beautiful flowers and such a breathtaking sight ! Can you see the black building in the front? This is the house of art. It was built in 2003 together with the island. In 2003 graz was the European Capital of Culture. wonderful!! Do you know the clichè: that Graz is different? It’s true. Even the clocks run differently here. If you see over the clock you can see that the minute hand is smaller than the hour hand. This is the favourite place of my hostmum isn't it nice there. we were chilling for some minutes |

It was a mostly quiet night, but there was an electromagnetic field that hovered in one room for over half an hour that had no explainable source we could figure out! Some women felt their hair pulled and backpacks pulled on, and then could not initially leave the tunnel below the castle. They got really spooked, but host mom and her daughter didn't experience any thing scary! For more pictures of their experience, you can click here! |

Bambi enjoyed another vegetarian Sabbath supper at the SDA church! |
MamiTig Posted Oct 29, 2012, 4:43 am |
We took a visit to Twin Trestles, to see what autumn is doing to the landscape. The trees seem to be going straight to curled up and brown, or to leaves falling, without a lot of the usual pretty colors this year. |

JaB5 Posted Apr 1, 2013, 3:38 pm |
Happy Easter everybody!
I went sightseeing in Wismar. It's a beautiful old town with many churches and a beautiful harbour |
visit BERLIN Posted Jul 4, 2013, 12:34 am |
Hello my friends!
After visiting Wismar I travelled to Berlin. Of course I wanted to see something of the city but that's not the reason I was there. I was in Berlin because I want to see the alps! ...Yeah right: Berlin, alps. You may thing "WTF?!" ...Me and my new host we are now on our way from Berlin to Austria. We will spend a few days to hike through the Zillertal Alps! But it's a looonng journey. ICE, EC, Zillertal Railway and bus. It will take us 11-12 hours to reach our destination... |
visit BERLIN Posted Jul 4, 2013, 12:38 am |
At the first day in Ginzling - where we rented our room - the sun got us up early. And we wanted to get up early because we couldn't wait to investigate the Floiten Valley... |
visit BERLIN Posted Jul 4, 2013, 12:57 am |
Wild, very dangerous animals were standing in our way up high and at about 2,000 meters we had to fight us through the snow. But at the end we reached our first big goal: The Greizer Hut at 2,227 meters... I mean I have seen the alps before through the window of a plane. But now I am on them. What a fantastic view! |
visit BERLIN Posted Jul 4, 2013, 1:27 am |
Next day we wanted to see Ginzling from a higher point. Therefore we had to step carefully over a small bridge while the huge river wanted to drag us along... |
visit BERLIN Posted Jul 4, 2013, 11:39 am |
We also visited Mayrhofen and were hiking to the Stillup Reservoir. Even if the weather was cloudy and rainy I was in good spirits. ...because I could run riot on a playground!
Back in Ginzling we wrote some postcards for our families and friends. (Greetings to everybody who is reading this now! ) |
visit BERLIN Posted Jul 4, 2013, 12:12 pm |
On sunday we wandered about 30 km!! Our feet were burning in the evening but it payed off! After we walked across the Zemm Valley we ate our lunch at the Berlin Hut (height: 2,042 m). It was a sweaty fantastic day! |
visit BERLIN Posted Jul 4, 2013, 12:48 pm |
Last day I wanted to do something special. So I was climbing some big rocks and afterwards we were chilling... I guess at this moment we looked like the cat who ate the canary! |
visit BERLIN Posted Jul 7, 2013, 10:22 pm |
Time has passed too fast. Someday I will visit Austria again! But now we are back in Berlin. |
visit BERLIN Posted Jul 7, 2013, 11:00 pm |
Some days later my host has shown me some nice places of his hometown.
For example the former Tempelhof Airport where the famous Candy Bombers landed about every three minutes. |
visit BERLIN Posted Jul 7, 2013, 11:20 pm |
And I was excited to visit the embassy of the United States of America! ...It reminded me of my trip to the U.S. some months ago. And I will be there again in some days!
In the evening we enjoyed the movie "Bambi"! |

Chloe09 Posted Aug 25, 2013, 1:39 am |
Hey!! Nothing much has been going on here but we did have a movie night. We watched “Hitch” and “Couples Retreat”. They were good movies and fun to hang out with everyone! Erika, Kasimir, Pit, NoMi and I had an awesome time together!
Meet Hitch (Will Smith), New York City's greatest matchmaker. Love is his job and he'll get you the girl of your dreams in just three easy dates, guaranteed! And that's exactly what happens when Albert Brennaman (TV's Kevin James, "The King of Queens") wins the heart of gorgeous society heiress Allegra Cole (supermodel Amber Valletta). So when tabloid columnist Sara Melas (Eva Mendes, Stuck On You, Once Upon a Time in Mexico) decides to uncover the secret behind the tubby schlub's success, she's shocked to discover that Alex Hitchens, the charming young man she's been seeing, is the legendary date doctor himself. Exposed in a front-page scoop, it's now up to Alex to try to save Albert and Allegra's relationship as well as his own. Which only goes to show that just when you think you've found true love, there's always a HITCH. A comedy centered around four couples who settle into a tropical-island resort for a vacation. While one of the couples is there to work on the marriage, the others fail to realize that participation in the resort's therapy sessions is not optional. Let’s see what fun is next!! =) xoxo |
Chloe09 Posted Sep 8, 2013, 12:45 am |
NoMi and I went to The Great Minnesota State Fair!! The Minnesota State Fair’s mission is to educate and involve our guests by providing a world-class showcase that is innovative, entertaining and fun. We got to go see a cool horse show, eat out of proportioned stuff, rode a cool ride that over sees the entire state fair, rode a cool trolley, got to see a cool parade, see some cool animals and people watch.
Adventures will continue….more to come! =) yay! |

Erika the Mouse, Sargent Froggo and I had a great time at Valleyfair! Valleyfair, sometimes stylized Valleyfair!, is a 125-acre amusement park located in Shakopee, Minnesota, USA and is currently the largest amusement park in the Upper Midwest United States.
Had an awesome time! =) I wasn’t allowed to take pictures ON the rides but I took pictures of the rides. It was a lot of fun and such a cool new adventure! Much Love, Bambi |
Chloe09 Posted Oct 3, 2013, 4:01 am |
Mr. Lumpi, NoMi and I went on an interesting trip. We went to a car wash because Chloe’s sister spilled her Monster beverage on her car so we wanted to make sure it didn’t get too bad or sticky on her car! =) It was fun anyways!
Our trip through the Holiday Gas Station Car Wash!!! =) The Minnesota Renaissance Festival is a Renaissance fair, an interactive outdoor event which focuses on recreating the look and feel of a fictional 16th Century "England-like" fantasy kingdom. We went on “Ladies Shopping Day”, which we got a discount fee to get in, free stuff, glass of wine, and an entry to win some cool prizes, which we didn’t win but it was still fun! =) This was an awesome act! They were throwing swords and juggling them and doing unbelievably dangerous things! They are called the Danger Committee on the Bakery Stage. The Danger Committee is an incredible combination of juggling, knife throwing, spine tingling thrills and hilarious comedy. They have performed on national television and at theaters, festivals and corporate events across the country. Their unique blend of the hilarious and the dangerous while performing unbelievable feats of skill has made The Danger Committee one of the most talked about new acts in the country. They have taken on national notoriety on NBC’s America’s Got Talent, and have since had multiple appearances on national television and stages from New York to Las Vegas. It was soo much fun! It was definitely a new experience….very easily the most entertaining day of Renaissance Era festivities and the car wash! Much Love! xoxoxo |

Happy Holidays!
We went to a fabulous Holidazzle parade! This is the last year it will run so Chloe made sure we went. It was a chilly night but only when we sat on the concrete. Since it was dark out, Chloe had to attach a link to an album with the pictures since some of the pictures don’t include us! We were there though and had so much fun! Chloe got a white hot chocolate to stay warm and we got some sips. =) Once again it is time to bundle up, pick up the family, and head to Target Holidazzle! 'Come See the Night in a Whole New Light' at Target Holidazzle with illuminated floats, music, celebrity Grand Marshals, and of course, Santa in his sleigh! Every year since 1992 when the first parade marched down Nicollet Mall, over 300,000 spectators converge on Downtown Minneapolis to celebrate this Holiday tradition. Unfortunately not all of the pictures had us in it because it was dark and a little too hard for Chloe. On this website, you can find all of the pictures she took of every float that was in the parade! It was pretty awesome looking!!! Click here for more pictures!!! http://s740.photobucket.com/user/clrosten/slideshow/Holidazzle |
