I was rescued by BunTraveler and then rescued by sararingham and as Sara promised, I'm going to become a toyvoyager, and today I became a toyvoyager! Here I am: As you can see I have my luggage all packed and I'm ready to travel. Sara says I'll be going to New Zealand tomorrow, how exciting is that? I wonder what it'll be like. While I was here I got to see a bit of Australia but I hope to see the rest of the world soon! If you'd ever like to host me, just message Sara and we'll work you into the itinerary. I hope I see a lot while I'm in New Zealand, maybe I'll see a kiwi bird! :-) Who knows what all I'll see, Sara has told me a bit of what she knows about New Zealand, lets see how much she really knows! Melancholy Pie Posted Apr 1, 2008, 10:56 pm	Veggies arrived in Wellington (New Zealand) while I was away visting my family so my lovely boyfriend bought her to the airport to greet me. It was so nice to meet Veggies, she is really beautiful and soft. As we drove away from the airport towards the beach Veggies got to see a plane. And after the after noon of excitement in a new country she got to snuggle up with her foster siblings for a sleep. It's going to be hard to send her on to a new family!
Melancholy Pie Posted Apr 10, 2008, 2:32 am	Wellington has been a bit cold and wet lately so Veggies has spent a lot of time indoors, all cuddled up in bed with her host siblings and watching TV. I think she's getting addicted to Shortland Street like the rest of us :] But...today it is a beautiful day so I bought her into town and we went for a walk down by the water front at lunchtime. She even got to see the Rainbow Warrior (2) which is in the harbour at the moment. There will be lots of pictures tonight.

Melancholy Pie Posted Apr 28, 2008, 2:23 am	After her 3 week visit in Wellington I had to say goodbye to Veggies and send her off to her next host in London. It was sad to say goodbye to my first TV (especially as she's so cute) but I'm looking forward to seeing her next adventure. Unfortunately she just missed out on meeting Benni the little bear! Bye Veggies!
iddewes Posted Apr 30, 2008, 4:44 pm	Veggies arrived safely in London on Tuesday the 29th. Hopefully I'll be able to take her out a bit this weekend, but she's not too impressed with the horrible British weather after all that sun in New Zealand!!! She's been hanging out with Shaggy Marley the long-haired tabby cat and some other toys who live here. Unfortunately she just missed going to Sweden as well but hopefully she'll like it here apart from the weather!!!

It took a few days before we could go out...it was probably actually a bit sooner than what I've put on here but I can't remember exactly! The weather wasn't very good for a while and then also I was working. I did take her along to work one day...here's a photo of one of the buildings that belongs to the University where I work... This is the Islington Library nearby, a good example of Victorian architecture in the area (a bit different than the rather modern University building!) Then that evening we took a trip on the London Underground! Here is Veggies inside the train...I'm surprised it wasn't very full! And inside Covent Garden Station... Covent Garden is an indoor market, with shops and nice artsy stalls, where you can often find nice gifts. We also went down from there to a very busy road called The Strand, on the way to Trafalgar Square, one of the most famous places in London! here you can see one of the typical London black taxi cabs and the red double decker bus Here's Trafalgar Square, the high up statue of Admiral Lord Nelson, who won the battle of Trafalgar. And here's another view of Trafalgar Square This is the National Gallery... And the famous church, St Martin in the Fields, which has just been cleaned so it looks lovely! On another day, we went to visit Tower Hill, where the Tower of London is. I didn't really have the money to go into the Tower of London, it's really expensive nowadays but we had a look around the outside. Here's Veggies on the best seat in a double decker bus going down there. (although this is just somewhere in Hackney, on the way ) And here's a view of the Tower... this is a bit farther down...you can see the famous building called the Gherkin in the background too (called that because it looks like a giant cucumber!) Here's Tower Bridge, too...it's also very famous and has a museum inside it! Then we went on a boat to Westminster! There will be more photos of that later...well Westminster and Waterloo, anyway, but here's a couple from the boat. This is the London Eye We also visited Stoke Newington, which is very near where I live. There's a really old church there called St Mary's. It's so old that they built a replacement church, which is across the road from this one, and they don't use this one much now. But it looks nice anyway! the sign over the door says 1563! Here's the old churchyard too. Well, like I said there will be a few more photos coming, but I haven't finished the film on that camera yet...
MarionJ Posted May 26, 2008, 2:51 pm	Hey-ho! I arrived safely, no bruises, no nothing. I think I'm starting to enjoy those flights in small packages. Hehe  I was a bit frightened at first, because right when I stepped out of the envelope, THOSE two were right there. Staring at me. Aaah, boys! They told me later that they were told a lady was coming, that's why they were so eager to meet me. I was flattered, of course. And they turned out to be the cutest guys ever! They commented about my carrot and my fur colour - they said it's exquisite. Soo, looks like some charmers Of course they wanted to make a buddy picture, so here it is My first trip outside was to the national football (or soccer, the boys told me to add in brackets) stadium, the A Le Coq Arena. Named after the biggest sponsor, a beercompany, pfff. Ok, so I'll let you everyone know exactly what we've been up to, no worries. Ciao guys and have a nice monday! Veggies
MarionJ Posted Jun 3, 2008, 12:27 pm	Hellloooo! Haven't been checking in here for quite some time. My host was a bit sick last week so we mostly stayed inside or only went to get the groceries. Because my host just loves to watch the America's Next Top Model show, we watched it every day! I think I know all the right poses now and I'm beginning to learn that Tyra-look in my eyes too. You might not believe, but a bunny like me could be in the top three too one day. You'll never know...  But well, yesterday was a very beautiful day, sunny and veeery warm. They tell me that this spring (although looks like summer already) has been suprisingly hot. Usually it gets this warm in the center of June, but has been like it since the beginning of May. So lucky me  We went to the Old Town in the evening. The Annual Old Town Days opened yesterday morning, so all through this week there are different concerts and workshops and plays and lectures and much more. We arrived a bit late there, the RatRace was over unfortunately (office-workers raced in costumes for charity). Behind me is the Niguliste (St. Nicholas)church which interior is said to be one of the most beautiful in Europe. During the Soviet time the church got bombed and burned, but has been entirely restored now. Now it's being also used for some concerts and as a place to display artwork for the National Art Museum. Here I'm doing one of my supermodel poses.
MarionJ Posted Jun 3, 2008, 12:39 pm	Looking at the map of the Old Town.. Okay, so here's a monument for one of the greatest writers in Estonia, Eduard Vilde. And you can see how big those block of stone were compared to me. They always tell people to stop and smell the roses... hmm, they weren't actually roses, but smelled good anyway :P As I told you before, the race was over, but the stage stays there until the end of this week. I'm sure we go there again, to see some shows. It's right in the centre of Tallinn Old Town, the Town Hall square (Raekoja plats). And this is the Town Hall itself. Oh, and I just wanted to take a picutre of this clock on the wall of another church called Pühavaimu - the church of the Holy Spirit. Okay, so tomorrow we have plans to see a bigger show right there in the Old Town. I'll remind my host to load the batteries for the camera. Until then, my friends, stay pretty and practise those supermodel looks! Veggies
MarionJ Posted Jun 24, 2008, 6:31 pm	Hey, buddies! I have had a nice time here, actually Only bummer is that my host has been busy, she's organizing some camps for youngsters and always on the run. So we haven't had much time to go anywhere. But luckily there's this national holiday here - Jaanipäev (Midsummer's night, I think in english). So we had the chance to go to the south of the country, to Tartu, the secong biggest city in Estonia. Because it's a university-town, there are mostly students living there. All across Estonia people go to study there, because the university is the best. It's also very old. The busride there took us 2h 25 minutes, Estonia is quite small thankfully This is the pedestrian bridge near the market Emajõgi (Mother's river) that runs through Tartu Oh, there's this funny pig in front of an old market building, there's me and Chester and Woezel The town square and the town hall Famous statue of the kissing students here In summertime the fountain is filled with detergent (washing liquid) sometimes, so it flows over with foam, hehe Here I'm with Chester in front of an odd house. Inside of it everythings level with the ground, but outside.. The University of Tartu, I was talking about And the theatre Vanemuine. Estonian people go to theatre all the time! VERY popular. Ok, that was our journey in Tartu. It rained all the time, that was a bit bad. There weren't much people out too.. but we looked the news and they said there that it rains almost everywhere in Europe So stay tuned, I'll be posting some news about my next location very soon. 'I made it safely to dandilion her home!! she told me she will post my weekend to England adventure after she and I will come back!'
dandilion Posted Jul 7, 2008, 10:17 pm	hello, here its me at Schiphol (Amsterdam) airport, I was looking at the Dutch/Holland souvenirs whilst dandilion, the other TV's and me had to wait to board the plane. The bunch of us travelled with Leonie (dandilion) to England. We went on this airplane: The flight went smoothly and fast! It was very excting to be in the sky! We landed at Liverpool, at the John Lennon Airport, here you can see the yellow Submarine from the famous Beatles song We took the train to Blackpool, I was told I was going on some roller coaster rides! WOW! We arrived in Blackpool, this is the famous Blackpool tower. They have many shows there, like stand up comedy, musical, and dance performances. We saw adds all over the sea side town promoting shows which are currently held there. This is the view of one of the beach piers. There is much amusement here in the seaside town. Alot of people come here for a day trip (like us) or they stay for the weekend or holidays. It was so much fun to walk around the amusement park, we saw all kinds of rides, one even bigger and faster then the other! Too bad the weather didnt treat us well, it was raining and a bit sunny when the sun popped up behind the clouds. Here you can see me and the other toy voyagers, we were taking a rest after we went on a fast an very wet ride called the Valhalla. We queded up and when we were at the front, it didnt work! So we waited for such along time! A few hours later we qued up again with succes! It was very fun ride, on water and in the dark, very scary! This day was full of excitement! I enjoyed it very much! I was very sleepy after this day!
dandilion Posted Jul 7, 2008, 11:31 pm	This suitecase was too heavy for me to carry! Normally Leonie travels light, but not this weekend, she had to bring back lots of stuff with her, like clothes from her boyfriend. The suitecase if filled up to the top! Me on the bus from Manchester back to Liverpool.. Look! I spotted a typical English bus! Together with Leonie and the rest of the TV's We all made our way safely back to the Netherlands. It was a nice and fun weekend. I am looking forward to see the veggie garden Leonie been bragging on about, I will go explore the garden later on this week. Till then,bunny cuddles from me: veggies
dandilion Posted Jul 10, 2008, 9:14 pm	whats cooking? Together with Leonie (dandilion) Adelina sheep and Squiggles  we cooked dinner! On the menu was diced chicken breast with spiral pasta with Boursin (garlic spread) and mushroom sauce. We all helped out! I helped with boiling the water for the pasta: It went too fast so it overcooked! I had to clean up after we cooked :S Adelina got teary eyes from cutting the onions. She didnt mind it. Good for her "that smells really nice!!!"mmmm wonder if he wont let the onions get too brown, Squiggles kept an eye on the frying pan for me. mmm!!! that smells great! We all helped set the table... but nothings on our plate YET! I have had the privilege of trying first and then my friends had a try. This look and smells Yummy! I ate and ate till I almost burst! After we had dinner we went to the livingroom for a little rest, Leonie asked us to help out but the 3 of us were so exhausted of cooking and eating we didnt help her... next time I will do the dishes, I promised to leonie :-)

Yes, thats me, I am travelling around the world. I like us to get to know eachother better, if thats fine by you? Yeah sure you can stay here in the couch with me, any minute now we will be getting a snack for lunch! I see you are travelling with a carrot, thats so yummy and very handy!!! Can I have a bite of that? Oww hahahaha, thats not a real carrot Yalara, thats a fake one! But didnt you say Leonie would bring us a snack, lets wait and see what we be getting of her You are one funny bunny, Veggies!!! Yeah lets wait for the snack, in the meanwhile we can play if you like? YES playing is what I do best!!! Playing sure makes me hungry, what you Yalara? yeah its good Leonie gave us a bit of carrot to nibble on Eet smakelijk!!!! whats that kind of words you just said? Well veggies thats 'Bon apetit' / Enjoy your meal in Dutch! Thank you Yalara for sharing the carrot with me! I enjoyed it very much to talk and play with you. No, Veggies, thank you! It was nice to have meet you, and do come play with me again! Did you meet up with my sister Pebbles yet? Yeah I saw her asleep in her cage, but we have not been introduceed to each other. I better ask Leonie if I can meet with Pebbles soon ...that story the next time...
dandilion Posted Jul 15, 2008, 5:28 pm	I went on a really fantastic day!!! together with leonie and an other TV host Goofychicken and the other 2 toys Adelina sheep and Squiggles. We went to the themepark The Efteling! Here are the stories and photos of me! Ready to go, the bag is filled with food, drinks and us 3 Toys :-) Daydreaming on the train.. where will we be going to... Inside the Efteling I saw so many great things! I looked at front, back, down and up and so many fantastic things! This is me posing at the litter king paper here he shouted the whole time! We strolled through FairytaleForrest, where we saw all kinds of Brothers Grimm fairytales, here are some gnomes doing the laundry... We came by 'de wolf en de zeven geitjes"(the wolf and the seven little goats) Mother Goat went to the market... The 7 little goats stayed at home.. 6 are playing a game and the smallest little goat is in the clock, can you spot the little goat? I could! But ohh nooo the wolf is at the door...... We meet other fairytale characters such like red riding hood, sleepingbeauty and snowwhite :-) this is Pardoes, THE efteling character brand Longneck The trolls King flying Magic carpet  wow! It was an amazing day! More later on!
dandilion Posted Jul 18, 2008, 11:35 am	Wow Mommy! Today my dream came true!! I was in vegetables heaven!! Honestly everywhere I looked Green green green :-) Leonie took me to her parents. They have a garden holiday house. Its situated on a island in the river Maas, in Rotterdam. 'volkstuintjes' The first row on the left, the upper left one is the garden of Leonie her parents. She told me her father and mother take care of the garden. They all love to eat the fresh vegetables right from the garden(wash it before they eat it lol) A field with Potatoe plants Leonie told me new potatoes are her favourites!   Red cabbage and beetroot. You could see where the wild rabbits ate the vegetables! There are many wild rabbits here and also all kinds of birds, hedgehocks, pheasants and many many insects. Ow and Leonie even spotted a mouse in the garden, she called for the dog and Skip tried to find the mouse, but it went in hiding! Inside the greenhouse, I was so excited! My ears were fully up! I am one very happy bunny! The tomatoes need to turn a bit more red before I can nibble on them :-)   The bean plants, they grew very long up in the sky. MMM very nice long green beans.. guess what I had for dinner???!!!! YUP! Green beans! One mission is accomplished
dandilion Posted Jul 20, 2008, 2:27 pm	Today was the day Leonie cleaned up the rabbits cages, she asked all the toys to help her. Yalara and Pebbles were very excited about us little ones helping out. The bunch of us were chatting about playing a game whilst Pebbles was running around the livingroom. We had the cage all to ourselves. The idea came up to play hide and seek in the straw I counted till 100 so the other toys could find a spot to hide. 1234567891011121314151617181920........... Frizzle (the stay at home toy bunny of Leonie) was also there to play with us, She and I discussed where to look first I looked left and right.. but still no sight of the others... Pebbles also tried helping out with finding us, but all she did was running around the house! Hmm maybe they went out of the cage to find a good hiding spot, lets have a look... I think I can see them...Lets go closer to there.. AHHH!! I spot Dottie first! Gotcha!!!!  I foud you!! Not so cleaver to hide all together!! This was a very nice game we played and we all fell over of laughing!

And we went to the place called Workum: Workum (From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia) Country  Netherlands Province  Friesland Population - Total c. 4,000 Workum (West Frisian: Warkum) is the largest town of Nijefurd in Friesland. It received city rights in 1374. It lies within the municipality of Nijefurd. Currently has around 4000 inhabitants. Today, Workum is probably best known for having a museum dedicated to the very popular artist Jopie Huisman. Furthermore it is one of the eleven cities of the Elfstedentocht. Here we are enjoying the Dutch scenery view from out the train. We set off early friday morning and arrived about 2 o clock in the afternoon. The flag was hanging outside of the room we stayed at Friesland  (taken from wikipedia) (West Frisian: Fryslân, Dutch: Friesland) is a province in the north of the Netherlands and part of the bigger region known as Frisia. In order to distinguish it from the other Frisian regions, it is commonly specified as Westerlauwer Frisia, Westerlauwer Friesland, West Frisia or West Friesland. The latter two names may lead people to confuse the region with the neighbouring landscape called 'West-Friesland', in the North Holland province. Up until the end of 1996, the province bore Friesland as its official name. In 1997 this Dutch name lost its official status to the Frisian endonym Fryslân. Friesland has 643,000 inhabitants (2005) and its capital is Leeuwarden (Ljouwert), with 91,817 inhabitants, in the center of the province. Friesland distinguishes itself from the other eleven provinces through having its own language, West Frisian, which is also spoken in a minor part of the province of Groningen, to the east. Closely related languages, East Frisian ("Seeltersk", which is different from "East Frisian (Ostfriesisch)", a collection of Low German dialects of East Frisia) and North Frisian, are spoken in the Saterland and in North Friesland areas in Germany, respectively. Friesland was a part of the German empire until 1680 when it separated and joined the Netherlands. Part of Friesland is still considered part of Germany (Ostfriesland) The English language is also closely related to West Frisian. There is a saying about it: "As milk is to cheese, are English and Fries." Friesland is mainly an agricultural province. The famous black and white Friesian cattle and the well known black Friesian horse originated here. Tourism, mainly on the lakes in the south west of the province, and on the islands in the Wadden Sea in the north, is an important source of income, too. Technology companies such as Asset Control have also set up base in Friesland. The province is famous for its speed skaters, with mass participation in cross-country skating when weather conditions permit. In winters that are cold enough to allow the freshwater canals to freeze hard, the province is the focus of the Elfstedentocht (Eleven cities tour), a 200 kilometers ice skating tour. In the warmer months, many Frisians practice wadlopen, the traditional art of wading across designated sections of the Wadden Sea at low tide. Another Frisian practice is fierljeppen, a sport with some similarities to pole vaulting. A jump consists of an intense sprint to the pole (polsstok), jumping and grabbing it, then climbing to the top while trying to control the pole's forward and lateral movements over a body of water and finishing with a graceful landing on a sand bed opposite to the starting point. Because of all the diverse skills required in fierljeppen, fierljeppers are considered to be very complete athletes with superbly developed strength and coordination. Another interesting feature are the many windmills. There are 195 windmills in the province of Friesland, from a total of about 1200 in the entire country. We rented bicycles to explore the area of Workum and the nearby places of interest. Such as Hindeloopen. In Hindeloopen there was a sailing contest, but due to the lack of wind they just sailed around. There was a small market with some stands, look at the delicious Friese kaas  Frysian cheese After we walked around we sat down for a short break, in the back you can see the masts of the boats in the harbour of Hindeloopen.   We cycled back and this is the map we used for the routes: On our way back we came across only farm land, either with cattles (cows) or sheep. Also we saw horses, and only one special Frysian big horse, too bad it was too far for a picture and we were not allowed on the farms premisise. We came back very tired so we went straight to bed: The next day a new adventure.....

I came to Stykkishólm 8. september. and now is raining hera. my host Haukur Páll is 8 years old boy and is now coming home from school and was surprise to have me over. we will go around my area and take pictures of me and stykkishólm

Haukur was playing football. the wheter was bad and lot of raining so we didint take many pictures. hear you can se veggie on the way to Ólafsvík. juste wayting for good day whit out rain so we can go around Stykkisholm whit veggie and the camera. hugs from Iceland
habba27 Posted Oct 17, 2008, 1:01 am	hello Here everything is going good. we have company, there is still bad wheter most of the time raining all day long so we havent even bean a round our town to take pictures, we are coing to Borgarfjörð this weekend, and me and my mum will take alot of pictues for you all. and next good wheter day we will go around and show you your town, if it just will rain, then you will just have rainy veiw take care Veggie and Haukur Pall, and our also wisitor Nuada

habba27 Posted Nov 11, 2008, 1:21 am	we went for a weekend in Akranes. it´s Town near Reykjavík, in Akranes lives about 5000 people. on iceland is sandbetche´s rely rear on akranes is the longest sandbeatch in iceland. Veggie is in front of very old fhisfactory where the pictures is on the house we wisitit museum in Akranes, the big blak boat is Kutter Sigurfari it is from 1885 made in England the smaller boats are from similer time made in www.akranes.is/pages/tungumal/english/ here you can maby read a litle about Akranes

I actually arrived almost 2 weeks ago but my host has been busy so we haven't been able to update. We've been taking loads of pictures though so we'll be posting them now for today and tomorrow. I arrived just before my host Katja had to go to work so we took some photos on her way to work. She's actually got 2 jobs but they are both very close to each others. There are some bananas growing behind that wall We were hoping to get a bit more of a mountain view on this photo but clouds were on the way Some more bananas growing there sunset This is we parked for Katja to go to work (in Los Cristianos) Los Cristianos at night

Katja had to go there because her phone's screen stopped working and the nearest nokia repair shop was there. She's now using her old phone so the photos aren't very clear. This is us on the motorway Still on the motorway Now you can already see the port of santa Cruz They are doing road work and building all over the island. This is on the Plaza de España in the center of Santa Cruz The carnaval's been on in Santa Cruz in February and it was already almost finished but they still had the day carnavals to start the day after. Unfortunately we didn't see anyone dressed up or anything as the carnaval happenings didn't begin until later. They had a lot of joyrides there. Here's a statue/cross, unfortunately it was too tall the get the cross on it... Carnaval stage at Plaza de España These just take you to a small park. I don't know if there's any historic backgroud to them This is the Santa Cruz auditorium + marine park pools. She works in a small clinic as an interpreter eventhough one day she'd like to become a doctor. You should be glad to know that I'm a very healthy bunny (eventhough my carrot had fallen off in the envelope, Katja has promised to sew it on soon) She works 28h shifts so we got to sleep there too Good night!

We've had a calima (a haze of hot air and sand particles coming over from Africa) now for a couple of days so finally it's gone warm but at the same time very, very dry. This is when we drove past Siam park, a new big water amusement park in Tenerife. Unfortunately you can only see my paw waving... Here you can see some haze in the background. Here we're getting closer to the garden centre. Here you can see the haze over the sea, can you see the sea? Same here... This is from the garden center in a place called Piedra Hincada. And this is back home again, once my host's boyfriend had planted the plants we just bought. I wanted to help him but we didn't realise he was doing them until he had already almost finished. And here are some other plants that are growing on their terrace On Saturday we'll go up north, to Puerto de la Cruz so more updates coming then

We went to a place called Puerto de la Cruz, the main tourist destination in the north. I just had to pose with these nice Guzmania flowers Here you can see the sea and also the pools of Lago Martianez. Some palm trees A church This is a street where there are always some Canarian dressed women selling flowers. This is the entrance to Playa del Castillo (beach of the castle in English) And here we are on our way back home again. You can see that the calima was quite bad in the north too. Actually a lot worse than int he south.

We just realised that we hadn't really had muh of a nose around our host's apartment and we also thought you might want to see their two cats so we've been taking some terrace pictures today. The black and white cat is called Felix and the grey one is Katie. They both love playing with card board boxes...yes the piece of card board Katie's on used to be a box Here you can get a bit better picture of her What was I just saying Katja's boyfriend used to study horticulture and you can see that on their terrace, there are lots of different plants going there. This one is Katja's boyfriend's car, a Mazda RX7. I'm sitting on the roof. There was also some Canarian music and dancers there Look at all these mini Minis in this Mini We had to take a break from the cars and we went and sat on the beach for a bit. And then we took another break and went to see the surfers On Tuesday or Wednesday we'll go up north.

Here's first a pink flower, there were loads of them on our way up and we stopped to take a photo of one And here's some yellow flowers Here's the view from one of the view points, It was a really cloudy day And here are some yellow poppies Here we are very close to the clouds And here we are already higher than the clouds And then we finally saw Teide They've filmed some scenes of Planet of the Apes and Star Wars up here And this is Teide from the north side The white things you can see on the background are observatories And some more clouds And then we went through the clouds For a bit we were above then again And then it was clear again, and everything's a lot greener on this side!!

In the end there wasn't a big fire there, maybe a cooking accident or something. A woman with a burnt arm was taken by an ambulance but nothing else. But still 2 different police forces arrived (local police and "guardia civil") to see what's going on.

It's a well known place among windsurfers eventhough we didn't get to see any windsurfers in action this time. I was told that it's always windy in En Medano but when we got there, it wasn't really that windy there at all. There are a couple of hotels in El Medano and lots of short term rental apartments as well. They get more Spanish tourists there than foreigners. This is me on a play area And that's us and the beach on the background. This is one of the cats, Arnie. He is Felix's (Katja's cat) brother This is the dog, Rey. He's getting a bit old now and we couldn't take a long walk with him as it was too hot for him. Dave works in a tool hire shop. Here are some of the tools/machines they've got for hire. Then we went to stables near Dave's work where Katja's work mate Liisa is working during her spare time. Sissi showed us the house and the garden. Look- we were pushed on  a swing. That's a bit like flying  They have many beautiful flowers in their garden but hardly any vegetables . Only some tomato but they're not seasoned yet.
Sissi Posted Jun 17, 2009, 12:52 pm	This morning we made a walk through Aach to the Aachquelle (aka Aachtopf). The Aachtopf is Germany's biggest natural spring. It is producing an average of 8,500 liters per second. The name Aachtopf is compounded from Aach (meaning water in Old High German), the name of the river created by the spring. Topf can be translated as bowl and is commonly used for round, bowl-shaped springs. The Aach flows southward into Lake Constance, which empties into the Rhine. Most of the water is derived from the Danube River and is obtained where the latter river disappears underground at the Donauversickerung (Danube Sink) near Immendingen and Fridingen. Strangely, the Danube flows eastwards into the Black Sea, whereas the Rhine flows northwards to the North Sea. Therefore the water of the Aach flows under the European continental divide. This is a relatively common feature of karst stream captures. The Aachtopf is a favourite weekend destination and very romantic. It is not possible to see the cave because it is underwater and cave diving is extremely dangerous. This should just give you some infos *hehe* Anyway... Sissi, Ewan and I took Julian (Sissi's baby boy) into his buggy and went on. This is a look into a small street through which we went. This is a piece of the hydropower station. Because the river Aach flows through Aach they often use hydropower! Here I am on a bridge (there are many bridges) We are just making some rest at a fountain. Oh we're nearly there !!!!! Sissi Posted Jun 21, 2009, 12:49 pm	Hi ) Today we made a trip to Insel Reichenau and Konstanz. The Reichenau Island lies in Lake Constance, west of the city of Konstanz. It's connected to the mainland by a causeway that was completed in 1838. The island was declared a World Heritage Site in 2000 because of its monastery, the Abbey of Reichenau. The island is famous for its vegetable farms (yummie) and wineries. Look - it's me in front of a statue of the intinerent Saint Pirmin. He's said to have fled Spain ahead of the Moorish invaders. In Konstanz was a flee market and Sissi bought some books and toys for her son ).  And wer ate "Bratwurst"! We also met a little cow named Bella-Bo. We told her about our travels and she was so excited that she wanted to start travelling, too!!
Sissi Posted Jul 14, 2009, 11:37 am	A MEDIEVAL ADVENTURE!!!! Today we made a small trip to a ruin nearby. It is called HOMBURG. The Homburg is an early medieval ruin next to the village Stahringen, next to the western shore of Lake Constance. It’s in 624 m hight above sealevel and longtime the people of Homburg lived there. It was built in the 11th century. It was robbed and burend down during the Swiss War in 1499 but rebuilt in 1502. In 1642, during the 30-year-war it was again robbed and burned down and this time it was not rebuilt. The farms under the ruin took stones from it. You have a fantastic look over Lake Cons´tance, the Hegau volcanoes and the Swiss Alps from the ruin. The landscape is so nice here!! It was a very difficult way up to the ruin, esp. as we had Sissi's baby Julian with us and the way was not so easy with a baby car... So we made a rest and took a group photo  Here is an info about the ruin. I tried to read it, but it was German...  . But Sissi translated it for me OHHHHHHH, I feel like in medieval times!!!! Isn't it a nice view? You can see Lake Constance and also a bit of the Swiss Alps!! Medieval stones!!! How big the are!  Yummie - Sissi gave us some sweets and Julian gave us a bit of his drink! It was soooo hot!!! The mountains in the background are the Hegau volcanoes! Some extinct volcanoes with ruins on their top (year!! More medieval castle ruins!!!)
Sissi Posted Jul 18, 2009, 3:22 pm	Hiya! Today it's raining again (like the past days, too - I thought it's summer but I think Germans have no summer . Sissi told me they have, but I cannot believe...  ) ANNNNNYWAY Actually we wanted to got to Black Forrest cause Ewan really wanted to see it. He will leave us on Monday and we fear that cause of this bad weather it's not possible to see Black Forrest  . Sissi wanted to brighten us up and decided to make a sweet meal today. She told us it smells also great as dessert. And it was really delicious!!! Of course we helped her! Look, we need: - 3 eegs - 80g sugar - 80g butter - 80g semolina - 500g lowfat quark - 3 apples - 1 teaspoon baking powder - sugar and cinnamon (mixed) Hehe, here I am with the apples:  Okay, let's start! First we took the mixer and the white of the eggs and made whipped egg whites. Then we took the yellow of the eggs, butter and sugar and mixed it. We put the semolina and the baking powder to that mix and then the quark. All was mixed then. Afterwards the whipped egg whites was creamed under it. I helped  It looked like this then: The next step was that we pealed the apples and cut them into pieces: Now, we put it into a casserole dish and put the dish into the oven ( 180 degrees Celsius). We had to wait for one hour!!! Then the hotdish was ready! We put mixed sugar and cinnamon on and could eat it!! You must really try it! It's delicious!!

Sissi Posted Jul 20, 2009, 12:41 pm	Hallooooo!!! Today we went to SCHWARZWALD!!!! The Black Forest (German: Schwarzwald) is a wooded mountain range in Baden-Württemberg, southwestern Germany. It is bordered by the Rhine valley to the west and south. The highest peak is the Feldberg with an elevation of 1,493 meters (4,898 ft). The region is almost rectangular with a length of 200 km (120 mi) and breadth of 60 km (37 mi). Hence it has an area of approximately 12,000 km² (4,600 sq mi). We went visititing Sissi's aunt and uncle in Villingen. We had delicious cake and coffe: Sissi also showed us the beautiful garden and the gardening-house: In the morning Sissi's uncle has picked gooesberries and Sissi took some with her for her mummy who wants to make jam out of it! For Ewan it was a special day because seeing the Schwarzwald is one of his life missions! So we drove into the woods: and walked around: It was a great day!!!

We hugged him goodbye a lot and wished him all the best. Maybe we will meet him again one day! He got some sweets to for his flight and took 2 postcards with him! Ewan, it was sooo nice with you! Take care!!!
Sissi Posted Jul 31, 2009, 6:58 pm	It took some while for posting but here come's the report from our trip to the  FREILICHTMUSEUM in NEUHAUSEN OB ECK! So the Freilichtmuseum is an open air museum and looks like an old village. There are several histrical buildings. They were not standing here originally but rebuilt from the original material. So they built it down on their original place and built it up again in Neuhausen ob Eck. The original places were all in in the south-western part of Baden-Wuerttemberg (so in the Schwarzwald (Black Forrest)). All buildings are also with the original furniture and it really looks like a hundred year ago. Here we are at the parking: In front of some of the houses in the museum village: We made a great walk through the village. Sissi Posted Jul 31, 2009, 7:35 pm	We visited ENGEN, a town next to the place Sissi's living! Engen is attractively situated in the middle of the volcanic landscape "Hegau" with its unique cone-shaped mountains. Between Lake Constance, the Black Forest and Switzerland the romantic inner town centre of Engen with its southern atmosphere invites visitors to stroll around. Engen has about 10.000 inhabitants. Engen has a long and vivid history. 14.000 years ago already people used to live in this area. Important findings at the nearby Peters' Rock and Gnirs Cave are sufficient proof . These caves were resting places for roaming reindeer hunters and their families. Dating from this era the "Venus of Engen", a small abstract statue of a woman made of a carbon substance. About 1.500 - 1.300 years ago the Alamans founded a settlement in the "Altdorf" (old village), opposite the town on the other side of the railway line. The historic centre of Engen was mentioned in an official document for the first time in the 11th century. In the late Middle Ages the settlement developed into a considerably sized town. Some noble families´ houses were built on the Market Square, the town church was erected as a romanesque basilica, and a convent was established where the Engen Museum and Gallery is to be found today. The plague raged through Engen in the 17th century and two fires (1845 and 1911) destroyed large parts of the town centre . Nowadays the complete historic centre of Engen is under monument protection. Beginning in the mid-1970s it has been completely restored, so that Engen glows in its historical beauty. For its exemplary redevelopment Engen has received several awards. The historical centre is one of the best preserved medieval towns in the southern Germany. It not only gleams in its medieval idyllic appearance, but the careful redevelopment of the old quarters also meant revival for the town. The complete historical centre of the town has been placed under monument protection since 1977. That's me sitting on a wall from where you have a nice overview over the town.
