Hello,
I am new here - and want to see the world. My best friend HolgiHH is a ToyVoyager, too. Well, that is me with another bear - it is from Canada. But now he lives here in Germany. My hobbys are drinking beverages, and reading the Newspapers. Not typical for a little girl, but that's me. If you want to show me your country, your beverages and your newspapers, just send a PM to RikeH. bye PinkyHH |

Today we made a trip to Hamburg.
It is Germanys second biggest city. We walked around the Alster - a lake in the city. And made a photo of all of us. Now there are some photos with me - and I loved the yellow tree ! This is the townhall : After it, we went to the port to watch some ships. It was a nice sunny day - I really loved it !!! |
RikeH Posted Apr 9, 2009, 9:17 am |
My best friend HolgiHH started his travel today.
We were really sad, and we will really miss each other. But maybe we will meet out there in the world, if one host would love to invite both of us. |

We visited a nice park today - it is called Arboretum.
There was a nice lake... and many beautiful trees and flowers. We had so much fun there! |
RikeH Posted Apr 13, 2009, 6:00 pm |
Today it is Easter - and I meet the Easter Bunny...
and some of his friends. We all get a chocolate egg ... then we search Easter Eggs in the Garden and after it, we have a nice cake. It is a funny day. I LOVE Easter !!! |

Today I want to show some places of my village.
Here is then church - i have never been in, but Rike told me, that she is nice inside. This is the old school - now a library in the first floor. This little lake is beautiful - we made a nice quiet rest there - but to tell the truth, we played on the bike and in the grass. |
RikeH Posted Apr 26, 2009, 11:06 am |
Today Super Grover arrived here.
We all were very excited and showed him our nicest tree in the garden. Then we celebrated his arrival with a cake. After it, Soper Grover and I made a walk to the forest. |
RikeH Posted Apr 26, 2009, 11:37 am |
We went to Bad Segeberg. There is a big lake - and Polki wanted to meet ducks. Rike told us, that ducks are living there.
First we sat in front of a nice fountain. Then we visited the church. After that we walked to the lake. There is a monument of an indian - can you see it? |
RikeH Posted Apr 27, 2009, 7:26 pm |
We started our trip to Helgoland.
Helgoland is a German island in the North Sea. Well known for the healthy air. We went there with a Caramaran, called Halunder Jet. You see me in front of it, and then all of us inside the ship. It was fun ! In the afternoon we made a walk on the island – to visit the famous cliffs. On these cliffs are many birds. The one, that stands alone is called ‘lange Anna’. After the walk, we all relaxed in the sun…. And in the evening we relaxed at home. |
RikeH Posted Apr 28, 2009, 10:55 am |
We went to the pier, and took some photos there.
We have a new friend now – called BineHH. She lived on the island, but decided to become a TV, too. Then the ship came. After it we visited the city – maybe only a village, but with colorful houses. And here lives a bear... The beach is beautiful here – we saw some seals. They were very loud. The lighthouse is wonderful. What a nice day. In the evening we had a party, to welcome BineHH. |
RikeH Posted Apr 28, 2009, 11:00 am |
Today we had to leave Helgoland, but we had time to make a walk.
We played in a buoy. In these cabins people changed their swimsuits many years ago. Can you find me on the photo? On the way back in the Catamaran we had fun looking out of the windows. We saw ships and a nice part of Hamburg, called Blankenese. Rike told us, that the rich people live there. |

Today I leave my home and start my trip to Malaysia.
I hope, that I will have a nice time there. It was hard to say good-bye to the others. Especially Miily was very sad. |

Hi Mum,
I arrived in Calgary, I am in Canada I completed one of my missions ...well, I hope my visiting of Canada will not stop at the post office and Smaug’s letter box and living room When I was still in the envelope I heard a lot of voices and coming out I realised that they were other TVs ready to welcome me, wow. Let me list them: Sully Monster is visiting from Australia, Purple Haze and Mr Bananas are from England, Pepita is here at home a few days waiting to go to Germany and sammino is a stay-at-home TV. They are all very nice but I am so tired...I am sure they won’t mind if I fall asleep and chat with them a bit more tomorrow, yaaawn |
smaug Posted Jun 28, 2009, 5:56 am |
Hi Mum,
today we went with Smaug to Medicine Hat, a town South-west of Calgary where he had to attend a meeting. The place is 300km from Calgary so we had quite some time on the road to look at the prairies, my first real look at Canada. Well, here are a couple of shots that will give you an idea of the landscape. But you shouldn’t think that the view was the same for three hours, there were plenty of changes like hmmm, the odd herd of cows grazing on the side of the road, the side of the road were the odd herd of cows was grazing on and of course the colour of the cows in the odd herd of cows, so exciting You won’t be surprised that we spent most of the trip reading the newspaper and chatting. We actually didn’t see much of Medicine Hat itself as Smaug was a bit busy so we only managed to get a picture with the biggest tepee in the world. It is actually a steel structure, much cooler if you are not too close to it When we came back home Pepita jumped in her envelope and got ready to travel to her next host in Germany, wow |
smaug Posted Jul 3, 2009, 3:32 am |
Hi Mum,
Today was Canada day here and there was supposed to be celebrations everywhere, but unfortunately Smaug was working, so we were ready to spend the whole day at home . But he came back early in the afternoon and we went out for a little (2 hours each way) trip to Moraine Lake . The others have been here already and they told me that last time the lake was almost empty, but today it looks pretty full; apparently the best location for photos was closed due to works on the path, but we still managed to take some pictures. As you can see there was quite a throng as a new TV, Orpheus, joined us and we had a guest from Europe, Sigfrido the moose. |
smaug Posted Jul 8, 2009, 4:29 am |
Hi Mum,
today was the opening day of the Calgary Stampede, that the organizers call “The Greatest Outdoor Show on Earth” . Well, that might be an arguable statement, but it’s definitely something big. The core of the show are daily rodeos and chuckwagon races, so as you can guess the whole show has a strong western theme. To get in the atmosphere we decided to wear a cowboy hat before heading down to the Stampede Park...hmmm, finding a hat of the right size was a bit of problem so it was actually the hat that was wearing us Down at the park it was very crowded: fun fairs, markets, animal exhibitions were all packed with people, but eventually smaug found a “quiet” spot where we could take some group pictures overlooking the park. You can even see Calgary downtown although you can barely see me What a long day! And when we came back Orpheus jumped in a suitcase to start his journeys, so we all wished him good luck and eventually went to bed |
smaug Posted Jul 11, 2009, 6:38 pm |
Hi Mum,
Today is my first birthday, wow! I was a bit worried over the last few days smaug has been always at work and we have hardly seen him at all after the Stampede opening, so I thought that no one was going to remember about my birthday. But this morning he gently waked me very early before going out and wished me happy birthday, I was so happy and when I woke up again (yes, I went back to sleep ) all the toys here sang happy birthday for me Sammino said that we should make the date a bit special, so first we had a hearty breakfast with chocolate cookies We dipped the cookies in milk and chocolate while Mr Bananas and Purple Haze had some proper English tea. After that we spent the morning playing cards…salzburger spielkarten not really something I expected to find in western Canada We played Watten, actually Blind-Watten and sammino explained us the rules….that took a while You usually play in pairs, so I teamed up with Purple Haze against Mr Bananas and Sully Monster, but as we were all novices we got the help of an “experienced player” each. My help is not actually a fan of daylight, so I had to keep nudging him to prevent him from falling asleep I think that in the end Purple Haze and myself won the game or so sammino told us. Later, after a bit of rest, sammino showed us how to make a paper frog, well not just a paper frog, but a paper jumping frog We all got quickly into it and started preparing our own frogs, and after a bit we were all ready to line up the frogs for a race. The race “track” was on the table with some, hmmm, artificial obstacles... ...but after a few laps all the frogs ended up jumping down the table so we called the race off and just spent the rest of the day chatting and relaxing as usual Later sammino taught to me how to say honey in Italian: it’s “miele”. And when smaug came back in the evening he showed me your happy birthday message, I was so happy, thanks mum !! |
smaug Posted Jul 19, 2009, 9:23 pm |
Hi Mum,
After a couple of weeks when we have hardly seen Smaug, today we were active again. The weather forecast was for more than 30 degrees, first time of the year ....and maybe last time too So we left very early in the morning to go to a place called Fairview Mountain, that, at 2744m, is one of the highest points that you can reach with a trail in the Rockies national parks. We started taking some pictures while still close to the valley floor. Here is the Bow Valley heading North... And this is our destination for the day.....are we really going up there ? At this point sammino left us for a “reconnaissance mission” to the top and we met him only later on. When we reached the top, smaug allowed us some rest while he looked for some got point for taking pictures... ...and sammino reappeared with some food for us When we asked how did he find kinder chocolate and a landjaeger in the middle of the mountains he said that a bird of prey never revels the secrets of his hunting territory...the fact that smaug, when he came back, started rummaging through the rucksack like someone who lost something was a bit suspicious.... After refilling our bellies we had a look around. The mountain is called Fairview for a good reason, the view is amazing The peak behind me and covered with ice is Mount Temple, the highest mountain in this part of the rockies. This one is Mt Victoria, that closes the West side of Lake Louise... ...and that down there is Lake Louise, 1km below me, wow . That is again the Bow valley. The cut in the trees is Highway 93, better known as the Icefields Parkway...I guess the name is quite self explanatory On the way down we took a few more pictures. That’s Mount Temple again... ...Fairview Mountain from which we just came down... ...and the Lake Louise ski area. |
smaug Posted Jul 23, 2009, 4:34 am |
Hi Mum,
today is my last day in Calgary and all the other TVs gathered around me to wish me a safe journey before I jumped in the envelope sammino gave me a big hug and told me that he will follow my adventures on my travelog I can’t wait to meet my next host in east Canada, I am so excited . Hopefully since I am staying in the country the trip won’t take too long...hold on a sec...4,000km ?!?, I can get more than halfway to Germany with 4,000km, you must be joking!...well, looks like the trip will be longer than I expected, almost 4,000km, I still can’t believe it, how big is this country ? |
firefaery Posted Aug 4, 2009, 4:28 pm |
I have arrived in Antigonish! It was a long trip, and I didn't know if I was going to make it! It was very warm when I arrived. Here I am waiting in firefaery mailbox for her to take me out!
Jessie the Pug puppy was interested, and we were introduced. firefaery let me help her update my travelog & email mom! That silly pug was very interested in me.... she thought I was a toy for HER! Imagine! Like I would travel all the way around the world for a Pug... well.. actually she's pretty cute.... Lucky for me, firefaery was home working today, so I didn't have to wait too long to get out of the envelope.. I think we should fly first class. Mom needs to get ready to go into work, so she will post more pictures of us traveling later on! |
firefaery Posted Aug 4, 2009, 8:18 pm |
firefaery had to go to work after I arrived so she put me in the car with G-Raffe. He is not a TV but he drives in the car, and we cuddled up to enjoy the view.
firefaery Took us to Afton Paqt'nkek Reserve, where she was supposed to do a playgroup. However, no children showed up so we left. I got to drive behind a big tractor! We drove to town, where firefaery works. Here is some nice scenery we took in, along the drive. It took about 15 minutes to get from Heatherton, where firefaery lives, to the town of Antigonish, where she works. It looks rural! We arrived at St. Martha's Hospital, where firefaery's office is. She works for Early Childhood Intervention, with children who have developmental Delay. Here is a view of part of the hospital. You can barely see me in it! I was kind of worried, I hoped I didn't have to get a needle or something but I was assured that I was just visiting. I really liked watching the goldfish on firefaery's desk. His name is Gilbert. He liked watching me too! Lastly, this is the view I got from firefaery's desk. I thought it was pretty and the picture doesn't do it justice! After all the traveling and driving today, I am quite tired. I think I will go to sleep and update tomorrow! ....as long as that Pug doesn't get me. |
firefaery Posted Aug 11, 2009, 1:33 am |
Hello again!
firefaery was away this weekend and sick as well so we did not do too much as far as photos and visiting. However we did go to Cape Breton, specifically Glace Bay. It takes about 2 1/2 hours to get there, and it's where firefaery's partner lives. This is a picture of us almost to the Canso Causeway, which is a 2 lane rock fill causeway between mainland Nova Scotia and Cape Breton. At the end is a swing bridge, to let boats go through. It's base, under the water, is 800 feet wide, and the water is 210 feet deep. It took about 10 millions tonnes of rock to make it. Here is us, on the highway. We are on mainland Nova Scotia, and you can see Cape Breton Island. This is an arial picture of the causeway, though we didn't take it! firefaery had to stay home sick today.. She has the flu However she did make me a fruit smoothie, which she drinks every morning. It had strawberries, mango, peach and Orange-Peach-Mango juice in it.. also a little bit of light Whipped cream... It was so yummy! I had to sit on the lid so I wouldn't fall in! We need to go back to bed, so firefaery can get well. Night Mom! |
firefaery Posted Aug 19, 2009, 9:49 pm |
This weekend, firefaery and I were in Glace Bay, visiting her partner. I met yet another dog, this one was big and fluffy..he wasn't that interested in me.
We went for a lovely drive, while we were waiting for Bulk Barn (a great store where you can buy spices, candy, nuts, noodles, baking ingredients, soup mix etc in bulk) to open. On the drive, we saw..... HORSES! There were 5 in the field. They were kind of scared of me so they ran away before we could get a close picture. They were very big! And ran around a lot! On the way home, we took some pictures of the Canso Causeway, that we mentioned before. This is the left side of the water. Porcupine Back mountain! It is actually a quarry, and if you went to the top and looked down you would see a big crater, from where they do all their mining! A train also went by while we were driving but was too quick for us to get a picture. This is the right side of the Causeway. It is where the water comes from the Gulf of St. Lawrewnce. In the winter it gets filled with floating ice, but the other side of the causeway is ice-free because there is no through-flow! In the winter, firefaery saw a seal on the ice! Well that was my travel weekend. We are going there this weekend again, so I will likely have more pictures. Firefaery says we're going to the Exhibition and will see lots of horses and cows and some other farm animals, as well as horse jumping etc. |
firefaery Posted Aug 19, 2009, 10:16 pm |
Today firefaery came home at lunch and decided we needed to spend some time together.
The first thing we did was take a drive all the way down her street to Bayfield Beach, where the warf is. It's pretty calm now that fishing season is not so busy. But there were some boats docked, and some pretty scenery! Then, we went back home and I went for a swing in firefaery's hanging basket! She gave me a push and I spun around in circles. After that I went for a ride in the tree.... can you see me? I went up and down in the breeze... don't worry Mom, I held on tight and it was so much fun! Firefaery wishes she could swing in trees. Before we went in, I sniffed her flowers. They are starting to wilt, as summer is almost over... but they smelled delicious! I was also a helper today. I helped change the nectar in the hummingbird feeder. ....and I helped take Jessie for some playtime in the yard! It was a busy day! I am worn out again.. it was 34 degrees Celsius here all week! Hopefully it will cool down soon... I'm really looking forward to my trip to the Exhibition this weekend.. Miss you mom! |
firefaery Posted Aug 30, 2009, 7:16 pm |
Hello Mom!
I'm sorry I didn't update right away after going to the farm animals exhibition, but firefaery took so long to upload the pictures we took. We went to the Exhibition which included barns with cows, sheep, donkeys, llamas, poultry, and other animals. There were also stables where there were lots of horses. Some were Clydesdales, Percherons and Belgians which were used for the cart hitch. This is a picture of a 6 horse hitch. It takes a lot of work to get these horses all set up, and keep them in line! This is a picture of me with some Holstein cows. There was one there that was only born that morning! They are used for milking. They take the babies from their mothers, and bottle feed them because they need the milk that the mother produces for their business.. That made us sad. These are Ayrshire cows. The babies were with their mothers so they must not need their milk. It was SO HOT there that day. We didn't take too many pictures with me, however I saw a horse/owner costume parade, petted some baby chicks, and saw a lizard show. Firefaery loves going to the exhibition! |
Donna Balsdon Posted Sep 29, 2009, 12:02 pm |
Dear Mom!
I have arrived in England! I arrived this morning, in my envelope, just after 9am. I wasn't released from the envelope straight away; first I spent some time in something my host calls her 'pidge', which appears to be a wooden shelf where her post is put. Donna then came and collected me at 10.50am on the way to 'briefing'. Donna seems very nice. She's explained to me all about her set up. Apparently this is a boarding school and Donna lives and works here looking after the girls who board. She has a flat in the boarding house but I've not been there yet because Donna is currently working so I am working with her. At the briefing I sat in my envelope and listened quietly to all the announcements. Donna said she would have got me out but that she thought the other staff might look at me funny! I didn't mind too much because there was a lot to take in just from listening. I now know about some of the girls here (but can't write about them here cos its confidential!) and that Donna's boss Sue is completely crazy about sport. Once briefing was over Donna brought me to the QE2 office. QE2 is the boarding house where the 6th formers (the biggest girls) live and this morning its Donna and I's job to make sure they are all working quietly! I will take some pictures of QE2 next time we are here so you can see it, but for now I am just sitting on the desk, watching Donna plan her 30th Birthday Party. Apparently we're only here until 1pm and then we're going to take Donna's dog on a walk! I'll come and tell you all about our walk later... Love you mom x |
Donna Balsdon Posted Nov 9, 2009, 8:50 am |
Dear Mum! I am SO sorry that I have not updated before. My host got your postcard today and feels really really bad that you have had to write to her. She has asked me to tell you that she has been really poorly (and I know this is true because I have been watching her sleep!) with a post viral infection after the flu and is only today returning to work! She says she will send me on to Bristol this weekend (she will not get to the post office until then) and that tomorrow she will upload the photos she has taken of me so far. Its not been all boring since I got here - I have had some adventures.... but more about them tomorrow x
Love you x And big big sorries from my host x |

Hey!! I arrived in Bristol on Friday 27th November.
Bristol is in South West England. It used to be a big Port town along time ago. This weekend we went Birthday present shopping for my host's Mom. This meant I got to see all the shops in Bristol Town Center, we also saw some Christmas decorations that have gone up quite early. I got to see the Harbourside and there were some ferries going up and down the water. Today I helped my host do her art coursework, this was fun but I had to be careful not to get paint on me. Over and out from Bristol. Updates soon. Love PinkyHH |

But we put up a Christmas tree with her. That was very fun... Here are pictures of if before and after it was decorated. |

I arrived Hong Kong today and see some lovely shops with my host.
We went to Peel Street in Central today. All shops has their own style~ In this short street, there are wet markets selling vegetables, fish, and some sell snacks, dried seafood, traditional festive decorations... And I should talk about the last photo!! Those in the red basket are chicken legs, blue one are duck legs!! Would you like to try? |
vivyanhui Posted Feb 12, 2010, 5:21 pm |
Vi showed me the map of Hong Kong.
Hong Kong has a hilly landscape, the grey area are the urban and developed area. The soming Sunday is the first day of Lunar New Year, sure that I have to take some photos with the decorations~ |

It's freezing tonight so I decided to have hotpot tonight!
I went to a fast food shop called "Maxim", it offers a mini hotpot, well, that's perfect for me! I chose pork hotpot with potato & tomato soup, and a special drink - iced plum drink! It's a new beverage to me~ It tastes sweet! yummy~ |
vivyanhui Posted Feb 21, 2010, 4:32 pm |
HAHA! I really love my breakfast today!
English muffin with choco cookies... Do you know why I like it? The best thing to do during breakfast time is to read newspaper. The one I am reading is "Apple Daily", one of the most popular newspaper here. It's full of ting little square-like text, and I know none of them.... except the english words~ The layout of newspaper is quite eye-catching and usually, photo-based. One thing very special, for some news, it has a code and phone number for you, after you called and insert the code, a SMS will be sent to you, in this SMS, you will see the news report video of that news. |
vivyanhui Posted Mar 1, 2010, 3:10 pm |
Today I saw a ship-like shopping mall,
it locates in Whampoa Garden, one of the well-known estate in Kowloon. it's not a real ship, but in the past the place here is a pier, so the mall was made into a ship-like one. Funny sculptures can be found too. |
vivyanhui Posted Mar 7, 2010, 10:19 am |
I took some photos at Hollywood Road at Central today.
Views change and feels are different here. |

On this 13'C fine weather day,
I visited the Hong Kong Zoological and Botanical Gardens (HKZBG). It's founded in 1871 and occupies an area of 5.6 hectares. It's very amazing that it's quite crowded and land is limited in Hong Kong, so the garden is actually surrounded by buildings, but luckily it's locates on the slope, so the view is still very good! The Garden is divided into 2 parts by a road, but linked by a subway. I went there with my friends, Henry-Bo & PinkyHH We saw quite a number of animals, There are lots of animal-shaped rocks as decorations. And I met a jaguar called "Siu Fa" (meaning: small flower), she lived here for 19 years and died in 2008. And she's from Germany~ |
vivyanhui Posted Mar 14, 2010, 12:15 pm |
Vi went to supermarket with me, to buy some snacks,
there are various kind of snacks and are imported from all over the world. Marbo - a twin-cake in cappuccino flavor Green packing - green tea flavor biscuit Grey packing - dried grapes Panda biscuit - chocolate biscuit Dove - chocolate bar Yellow candy - honey candy Red candy - honey candy with coke flavor Orange packing - herbal candy which smooth your throat Wah Yuen - sweet dried pineapple I was very interested in the chocolate coin. One side there's "Kung Hey Fat Choi", and the other side are the 12 animals symbolizing the Twelve Branches used to designate years (according to lunar calendar). The order is: 1 - Rat, 2. Ox, 3. Tiger, 4. Rabbit, 5. Dragon, 6. Snake, 7. Horse, 8. Goat, 9. Monkey, 10. Rooster, 11. Dog, 12. Pig p.s. I saw a comic poster with the well-known comic character on it, it's Master-Q, and vi said that she read it when she's small. |
vivyanhui Posted Mar 14, 2010, 12:39 pm |
Having japanese food tonight,
yummy seafood bowl with tomato soup based, sushi, iced plum juice with lime, see how big is the glass! After dinner, went to have dessert, from left: durian pudding, grapefruit and mango with mango juice, red bean pudding, the front one is glutinous rice cake with mango inside. the yellow balls are sweet rice cake, before you eat it, you have to dip the sesame and peanut first, and it's a hot dessert. Another hot dessert beside is the stuffed dumplings, made of glutinous rice, served in soup, usually have black sesame inside. |
vivyanhui Posted Mar 14, 2010, 6:10 pm |
Today is Yuan Xiao Festival, the 15th day of the lunar month,
which is known as the chinese valentines' day, beautiful lanterns are made to celebrate this. I went to the open space next to the Cultural Centre, there's a huge lantern setup there. The whole setting is actually a festive scene: children are busy sending golds, good-meaning flowers for the celebration, and different kinds of lucky animals are welcome to enjoy this festival. And all characters joined and became a parade. |
vivyanhui Posted Mar 21, 2010, 12:25 pm |
Finally I took a ride on the Star Ferry~
Nice weather with soft wind, what a good time! The first choice to choose for crossing the Victoria Harbour~ well, it's absolutely better than just pass through the tunnel by bus! |
vivyanhui Posted Mar 21, 2010, 12:34 pm |
A short walk in Central & mid-levels,
funny shops and tall commercial buildings, can't imagine there's old tree next to the busy traffic road... I also sae an unique transportation that can only be found in Hong Kong Island, that's tram! It's has no air-conditioner and in slow speed, but it's the only transport that uses electricity. |
vivyanhui Posted Mar 21, 2010, 1:14 pm |
Today is museum day!
There's free admission for some museums every Wednesday, I chose to visit the Hong Kong Museum of History. It locates in the Tsim Sha Tsui East, having a high accessibility. There's a regular exhibition called "The Hong Kong Story", which shows the changes, local customs and some key milestones of Hong Kong. here's some stuffs really special: 1. the grey block - shrimp paste, made in a block shape in the past, but usually in bottle nowadays 2. salty fish - preserved in a natural way, very tasty whan cooked with pork! 3. bowl meal - different kinds of food like seafood, meat, vegetables so on are put together and display nicely, the traditional one can only be found in some old villages, it's is a seasonal dish, a must-have item during Lunar New Year 4. worshipping - chickens and fruits are set neatly on the red table for worshipping, different people will have different gods, usually pray for good fortune in the coming year 5. children's reading in the past - small size that fits children, mostly are comics in chinese style drawings. |

There a lot of magazines here,
with different topics, for men, women, children and teens, some are for professionals and some are just for entertainment. The magazine I watched today is East Weekly, like the newspaper, magazines are more photo-based, and of course, lots of advertisement. In a magazine, there are fixed catagory like local news, food, fashion & beauty and travels. Every issue will keep you up-to-date. I also found the Hong Kong's flag in the magazine! |
vivyanhui Posted Mar 21, 2010, 1:59 pm |
Knowing that I love to read newspaper,
Vi shows me the East Weekly few days ago, and today she shows me some free magazines! Wow! These free magazines are usually a bi-weekly one or monthly one. I learn new chinese words today too~ The blue word means "blue", and sounds in "nam", "blue colour" sounds in "nam sik"; it is also one of the surnames of Chinese, though an uncommon one. The yellow words means "yellow", sounds in "wong", "yellow colour" sounds in "wong sik"; again it's one of the surnames of Chinese, but a very common one. Besides yellow and blue, "white" is another colour also used as surname too! |

Hello mom,
we are travelling this week, we come back to Santos in this afternoon, we had great time here in UBATUBA. UBATUBA is a city in the northern coastal side of São Paulo. Really interesting city!!! Mom, Camila tought me how to say Honey in Portuguese, I just can't remember in how many lenguages I learned it!! So if I completed this life mission, please, let Camila know ok??? HONEY = MEL I will post some pictures of our visit to PROJETO TAMAR (TAMAR PROJECT), I even found a cute video that show the project in Youtube. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=T26tf8uTFZ0 But first, I will explain what is the project. "The Projeto Tamar field of action is the Brazilian coastline and its Oceanic islands, and its main aim is to work for the protection and preservation of sea turtles. Brazil is home to five out seven species of sea turtles, all of them endangered species. From September to March, along the coast, and January to June, on the islands, the organization monitors the beaches where the turtles lay their eggs. Tamar estimates each year 14.000 nests and 650.000 baby turtles." Brazil Travel Blog There goes the pictures... Really cool this project, I could see all kinds of turtles and sea turtles! And there goes some pictures from the place where we are staying... We were waiting to the tennis game start, but anyone felt like playing.. Well, it's time to pack our stuff, we will return to Santos today. Bye bye... |

Hello Mommy!
We didn't see much yet.The weather was really bad. We went to the Mittellandkanal Midland Canal which is close to Jeanne's parents home and goes also threw the Drömling, which is a nature reservate in Lower Saxony and Saxony-Anhalt. The Mittellandkanal is with 325.7 kilometres (202.4 mi) length the longest artificial waterway in Germany. The weather was nice and we decided to rest a little it in a tree. After that I smelled some flower. It was really nice. That's all for now. I try to write soon. Tomorrow we will go to an other place. Maybe we will able to do some photos but it's not sure yet. Hello Mommy,
I hope you have a great time. Today we all went to Wolfsburg and Jeanne showed us a little bit around. She had some things to do, so we couldn't see too much but I hope you like the pictures anyway. At the first picture you can see the old power station. It's a class listed monument and one chimney is under renovation. On the picture you can see the Mittelland Canal too. This picture shows the train station and at the right side the car VW car factory. In the far end you can see the Volkswagen office building. Well, this picture shows a lot of rails, the new stadium and at left side a part of the Autostadt as well. We forgot to take a closer picture of the Autostadt. I am sorry. This is Wolfsburg's town hall. Isn't it nice? Town hall and library: This is a few at the town hall square ( Rathausplatz). In the background you can see the VW Office building again. You are also able to see the new powerplant. Soon, we will take a walk to Oebisfelde. After that, I will write again. Yours, Pinky |

Hello Mommy,
I am sorry for not writing such a long time. I will add the photos from Germany later. I promise. Today we said Good bye to Claire and Ulrik. Claire will go to Chile and Ulrik to the USA. We took some photos when we said good bye to them. I wanted to go to Chile too but the others seemed to have the same idea. But I almost made it into the envelope... ...but Claire kicked me out. We went to send Claire and Ulrik off. We passed the shopping centre of the 3. part of Ataköy. Then we finally arrived the post office. But there was a new worker, who told us that she wasn't able to send Claire and Ulrik and that we should go to the post office in Bakirköy. We will go there tomorrow. So, went home again. We will take some photos in Bakirköy tomorrow. See you, Yours, Pinky |

Hello Mommy!
Last weekend we went camping in Erdek at Kapirdag, a peninsula at the Marmara Sea. We went there by a fast ferry boat from Istanbul to Bandirma, the province town. The camping site was in a small village called Düzle, which belongs to Erdek. Firstly, some road pictures: Now you learned the Turkish word for stop: DUR. Here are some pictures of our camping site: It was a really nice area, with lots of trees. The camping site even has it's own beach: Sadly, the it was a little bit foggy and we couldn't see the other side of the bay that morning. After we had some rest we went to Erdek. In Erdek we also had a nice breakfast. Our stomachs were full and we became tired. We were lucky because we didn't have to drive the car.So we could lay down and enjoy the nature. We took a stop at some hill beside the road. Behind me you can see the Marmara Island. We wanted to go there too. But we didn't have really time. An other Bay: The hills: This was at the end of our tour at Kapirdag. In the background you can see the entrance to Kapirdag and you also can see Bandirma. Do you see the small, white factory at the right side of the picture? Our camping site was at the other side of the bay (under it). At the end of our trip we took a short walk at Badirma. I liked this trip a lot but I am also looking forward to travel to my new host soon. I will write soon. Yours, PinkyHH |

Hello Mommy!
Today it was time to say good bye to Turkey and also to my TV friends. I watched out of the window for the last time. I also had to do something else. Myrtle Turtle gave me a ride on her back. I had to hold tight not to fall down. You can also see Kapirdag on the map behind us.(just above me) She also told me that the Turkish word for honey is bal. So it was a nice last day in Turkey for me.Don't you think so? See you soon in France! Yours, PinkyHH |

Hi !
At last, I give you some news. I've arrived to France august 31th and the next day I was moving to Amsterdam with my temporary family for 4 days. We went there by train. We went through France, Belgium and then Netherlands. I've looked through the window hardly all the time. I met a new friend, his name is Malm. In Amsterdam, we've mostly walked in the streets, visited the city. It's beautiful. We spent one day to the Artis Zoo where we have seen many different animals. Elephants for example. In the zoo, there is a little japanese garden with a buddha statue. After that it was time to go back home. Very soon, I'll give you news from France. Bye ! |

Hi mom!
After a new trip in a brown envelope I arrived in Norway this afternoon. I was greeted by my new host and her TV George. My host said we should be able to post a more detailed journal and post some pictures tomorrow. Just wanted to let you know I arrived safe and sound. Hugs PinkeyHH |
Morgaine Posted Nov 6, 2010, 11:14 am |
Hi mom.
A bit later then expected, but we have been very bussy. First of all I want you to meet George, my TV host. He has promised to keep me safe from the cat that is currently living here. As George is a lot bigger then me the cat has a bit more respect for him. Sadly I'm a closer to the size of her chewtoys. But both George and my host has promised to keppe me safe so I'm not scared. As you already know my host here is working hard on her degree and has her masters due on 22th of November. So most of the day passes by with reading books. And there are a lot of them! So many in fact that I even desided to play a quick game of hide and seek. Can you see my mom? To relaxe after working hard my host loves to bake cakes. So since I'm a guest here she wanted to make me a honey cake. I helped offcurse. She said that if you wanted the recipe just let her know. It tasted yummy! The honey we used for the cake were Norwegian heather honey. It's called Lynghonning. Sticky but tasty! Hugs PinkyHH |

Hi mum!
Sorry about the lack of updates but as you know we have been hitting the books pretty hard these days, but now my real Norwegian adventure begins. Today we traveld to my host hometown, it's about 3 hours with bus and ferry. The reason for this trip was to make christmas cookies with my hosts mother. It's a tradition to have all the cookies done in good time before the 4th of December, my hosts birthday. Sadly we managed to forget the transfer cable so you will get a realy large update on sunday when we are back home in Bergen. Hugs PinkyHH |
Morgaine Posted Nov 26, 2010, 4:28 pm |
Hi mum.
We finally found the transfer cable! The kitten had stolen it and dragged it under the bed. Here is an update on what we were doing last weekend We left the house early in the morning. Because of all the Christmas cookies and presents we had to bring back with us we had a huge suitcase. I mean just look how big it is compared to me. I had company as George was coming with us to. Here is me and George ready for departure. Since it was early we fell asleep on the buss ride, but we were both happy to be woken when we got on the ferry. And I just have to say George is a really big space hugger and he snores! But at least he was nice enough to let me sit on his head so I could really get a good look at the view. Isn't it pretty? There was a smaller boat that passed us on the way out. If it wasn’t so cold I might even fancy a swim. There was some time to go outside and really enjoy the views, but it was really windy. But don't you worry mum...we though about safety first! After having a new nap on the bus we finally got to Haugesund. It's not a very famous town, unless you really like herring or jazz. My hosts mother picked us up at the bus stop there. When we got to Kopervik we got strait to the baking. Here we are making dog biscuits. They also have to get a treat during Christmas. When the cookies where done it was time for my favourite part. The tasting! While George was really happy about getting a dragon cookie I didn't want a cookie shaped as a bear. Sadly they didn't have any shaped as a honey pot. So my host told me that I could get a moose. She said only the biggest, strongest Norwegian bears eat moose. I'm a strong and brave bear! Hear me roar! We ended up with a lot of cookies and treats. Looks like we needed that big suitcase. During our break between baking we had the chance to take some photos outside with the family dog, Dixie. I even found a little house just my size. So now I have invested in real-estate. Sadly it's a timeshare with some of the local birds. But I have first dibs on it during the summertime The next day it wasn't that great weather so we staid inside. I got to meet several of the locals. And trust me there were a lot of them. My host was a collector when she was a child. I even met a few Celebes This guy might even become a TV like me! The last time before we had to leave again we used to find some of the Christmas decorations. They start early here in this house. The ride back to Bergen wasn't much. It was all dark so we couldn't even see anything. But on the ferry we at least got to have a "svele" with a butter sugar paste on it. It was surprisingly tasty! And once again..we stayed very safe! In all it was a nice weekend. Now we are getting ready to take the night train to Oslo, the Norwegian capital. There is a major dog show in Lillestrøm, a neighbouring town there this weekend. Will take a lot of pictures Hugs PinkyHH |
Morgaine Posted Dec 25, 2010, 8:48 am |
Hi mum
Here is a very very late update on our visit to Oslo. Sadly we didn't get to take as many pictures as we had hoped. The weather was not on our side. The cold was piercing everything so we only went out on a short sigthsing tour. But last start with the begining. We stayed at a lovely hotel. My opinion is based on the fact that there was some lovely chocolate waiting for us on our pillow. Ofcurse me and George claimed them first! The view wasn't mutch to write home about but we did get to do some people watching while my host and her boyfriend went down for breakfast. Our first stop of the day was Vigelandsparken. A park famous because of all the weird statues that was made for it by Gustav Vigeland(1869-1943). Some of them are really not apropiate for children so I don't have to many pictures. But I did get a closeup of me and Grumpy. The most famous singular statue in the park. With the temprature being so low I can understand why he was so grumpy. I also got to take a picture with the famous monolitt. It's a bunch of human entwined to make a tall statue. Found it best not to take a close up of it though. That Vigeland was a weird fellow I say! After that we whent to a have a look at the ship Roald Amundsen used on his travels. It was huge! I think I make rather handsome shipcaptain. Don't you? I even got to se some far off relatives that they had there. We bears are sure enough a big and scary when we want to be. On the day of the dogshow both me and George desided to stay saftly inside the camerabag. There were some rather nosey dogs there you might say! Hugs PinkyHH |

Hi mummy, hoi mama!!
Today I arrived in Ede, the Netherlands. I met Colinde's dog Micky and her cat Dixi, and I have also hang out with another TV I met over here, called 'Hoots the Owl'. I really think we like each other! I brought some lovely Norwegian chocolate for Colinde, and we shared it all together. Hoots has a weakness for chocolate, just as Colinde does, what a convenience This is Micky, a 10 year old pug. She lives here since she was a puppy. And here are 2 pictures of Dixi, a naughty 3 years old cat. Colinde showed me how she lives. She lives in a kind of industry area, there are about 10 houses over here. It's very quiet in the weekends, Colinde told me. We cooked a nice vegetable soup for dinner: And Colinde received two bags of hot chocolate from a penpal, and now she wants to try one of them: See you later! Hugs! |

Hi mom!
Today it wasn't relaxing at all, because my host took me with her to her work. She works as a secretary and the phone rang non stop! Fortunately she had some time to show me her office. This is the view from our window at work. It's the library of Ede. Here you see me with my host, aren't we cute together? And here's the last picture of today, with the mill in Ede. It's called the 'Concordia molen' (molen = mill). It's builed in 1865 but in 2008 it's completely restaurated. The mill is close to my host's work, she can see it from a window too Till next time! Big hug |

Hey, Mom!
I'm in Moscow now and it's a beautiful city! My hostess is a 20-year old girl and she promises to show me the most exiting and wonderful places of her native city. Today we visited Kremlin and saw gorgeouse monuments of famous russian sculptor Ceretelli. |
Dangerousebeans Posted Apr 13, 2011, 8:35 am |
Moscow Kremlin has 20 towers and every tower has her own face and name. We get photos with 2 of them - Nikol'skaja and Spasskaja - in russian. They get their names from icons, that are hold over their entrances. The first icon is icon of Saint Nicolas, so the tower is called Nicolas' tower. And the second icon is "Jesus the Saviour". So, its name is Savior's tower. |
Dangerousebeans Posted Apr 13, 2011, 9:10 am |
Near Kremlin there is "Zoo" of fairy-tale creatures. You can see "Old man and golden (magic) fish" and "Princess-swan". Its' fairy-tales that every child in Russia knows - their famous poet Pushkin recreated them in poetry and made them so excellent!
3rd sculpture contains "Ivan-prince and frog-princess". It's a funny story about one king, who wanted 3 his sons to marry. They took a bow and arrows and each made 1 shot. 2 first arrows got into houses of princesses. But the 3rd son's arrow flow far far away and fall into a bog and a frog found it. So, he has to marry her (it was a rule of his father). But of course, it was a bewitched princess, and after some adventures they were happy |
Dangerousebeans Posted Apr 20, 2011, 8:09 am |
Hi, mom! This weekend we visited a beautiful fair of violets. As the spring comes, my host wants something colourful to decorate her flat. There are a lot of different flowers: sprouts, seeds, buds and others. We saw different types of ground and fertilizing, you know, that violets like acid one? At last, we bought excelent little flower that is called "Godness of beauty" Do you like it? |
Dangerousebeans Posted Apr 20, 2011, 8:29 am |
My host introduces me to her pets today. She has a funny dog Martisha - it's petit-brabancon. She is afraid of me and it takes a lot of efforts to make even one photo. In opposite, my host's golden fish named Kim is very interesting of me and want to descry closer On back side you can see another fish - telescopiform fish. His name is Ikabod (from Sleepy Hollow). It's very strange to me that these fishes can't look right ahead, but they must turn their bodies and use only one eye. So at the time of feeding thy can't see food, but just open their mouthes and swallow everything, that get into. |
Dangerousebeans Posted Apr 30, 2011, 5:39 am |
Hey, mom!
I want to add some my Easter (Paskha in Russian) photos! My host isn't too religiouse, but we visited her grandma and had a lot of fun It's interesting, that there is not Easter rabbit in Russia! We didn't go searching for eggs, we just changed them and kissed 3 times It's religiouse feast at first, so the main action happens on a Saturday night - people put on their best clothes and come together in dark churches that symbolise a gloomy world without the light of faith. In the past, satanic creatures were believed to turn especially evil in the night before Easter. People didn’t dare to go outside after sunset as they feared every cat could be a witch and every dog a devil And there is special food on Sunday: Paskha and Culich (Easter - is made from spesial cottage cheese, nuts and raisins Little easter cake - is a bread with a lot of sugar and candied fruit.) Mmmmm, yummy! |
Dangerousebeans Posted Apr 30, 2011, 6:09 am |
Hey, mom!
Today my host showed me some station of beautiful Moscow metro (subway). It's so deep and bright! There are a lot of statues and mosaics, some of them are really famous. For example, this soldier with a dog and a girl with a rooster. You can see, how they shine - that's because every second person touch it and ask for good luck It's espessially important for students before exams. And then you can see open subway-bridge with glass in place of wall. Somewhere lines of metro cross Moscow-river. And some of them run under water, but others run over and fantastic view appear before us |

Hi mum! I have arrived in England I was having a nap in my package when they unwrapped me, but I was soon awoken my the sound of curious voices. I got up and wandered over to the three sets of eyes peering at me. They introduced themselves and I learnt that both _Mishuta_ and Edelweiss were visiting TVs, whilst Mirembe the giraffe was my host's TV who is spending some time in England before setting off on her journey around the world. Since I am an experiences TV I had lots of stories to share. They were very impressed! I think Mirembe wants to adopt me and Edelwiess though
Hope you are well mum, Love Pinky |

Hi, Mom! Today it's holiday in Russia - from 1st to 3rd may and we travel to my host's garden cottage - dacha in russian. The dacha is far from Moscow - 1,5 hours on train. But ther is a beautiful forest and a field. The nature is fantastic! Also I saw garden-beds and hotbeds with domestic vegetables. I tasted cucumbers and tomatoes, they are delicious! And there will be strawberry in july. In Russia all people, who have dachas, grow fruits and vegetables for themselves And I met a new friend - old black Cheburashka What a stange animal it is! Maybe, it's bear, but with big ears? |
Dangerousebeans Posted Jun 7, 2011, 12:06 pm |
Hi, Mom!
Today was my last excursion in Moscow and we visited buildings, that are my host's favorite It's Cover Temple of Fily, just near our house. Once I saw a wedding there! Then it's the Bolchoy Theater - she adores visiting plays with Evgenie Red'ko and Peter Krasilov - young rassian theater-actors. Of course, it's Saint Basil's Cathedral - the most beautiful Temple. There are only 2 temples with such a strange and bright domes, covered with enamel - this one and The Church of the Savior on Spilled Blood in Saint-Petersburg. We took a break for eating an ice-cream in "Europe-Centre-Hypermarket". My host makes a shoppig there sometimes, there are a lot of little stores of expensive brands like Lacoste and Levi's. And it has beautiful lifts And last but not least ones are amazing skyscrapers "Moscow-city", that are under construction since 2001. They can be seen from almost any place of Moscow and, I think, they make city modern and shining. |
Dangerousebeans Posted Jun 7, 2011, 1:45 pm |
Hi, Mom! Today my host visit Italy - it's job travel, so she will not have enough time for taking photos. But, of course, I tasted delicious italian cuisine and read local newspaper - you can see - we are in Bologna now!
My host work on ZOOMARK International 2011 - great international exhibition of products and accessories for pets. I saw a lot of rubber toys, cat toilets, shampoo for rodents and other useful things We conclude contracts, meet directors and gve business-cards. I think, everything is successful! Near Expo-Center there is a Botanical garden and I was really pleasant of wonderful roses - it's Mermaid roses - I can't even think, that they can look like that! |

And today is our last day in Bologna and we have pair of hours for walking around. We make some photos on central area. There are great monoments and one fountain with Neptune. It's funny, that in Christian city they built pagan statue I even has thrown a coin in it, I want to return
And at the end of our travel we found an interesting shop of small puppet theater. It's really unusual, but there are 2 different theatres - with Buratino and Pinocchio though they are one character Buratino is the main character of the book The Golden Key, or the Adventures of Buratino (1936) by russian artist Aleksey Nikolayevich Tolstoy. It based on the 1883 novel The Adventures of Pinocchio by Carlo Collodi. But Buratino has decided to remain a puppet and stay in Carlo's puppet theater. And Pinoccio was transformed into a little boy by beautiful fairy. What a different outlook! |

Hi, Mom!
Alas, last day of my vacation in Moscow has come. Of course, I couldn't see all places of interest in the capital of Russia, but I'm happy that I visit it! I read local newspaper and drank local beverage - it's called kvass - a fermented beverage made from black or regular rye bread. I like it! I have said goodbye to my beautiful russin friends and make our collective photo. They are so tall! Away, to new meetings and surprising possibilities! |

Hello mum! Over the weekend my host took Edelweiss, _Mishuta_ and I to visit Durham city where she used to go to university. This uni has a collegiate system so each student belongs to one of 16 colleges. My host lived in the college of St Hild and St Bede, which you can see in the first few pictures.
After visiting the college we went down to the river and saw the Prince Bishop sight-seeing boat cruising along. We walked into the centre of town then went to view the iconic Cathedral. It was very big! My host said the cloisters were used for a few scenes in the first and second Harry Potter films (she is a BIG harry potter fan! ). At the other side of Palace Green there is a Castle, which along with the Cathedral is a UNESCO world heritage site. The Castle is home to the students of University College who have formal dinners with gowns twice a week in their great hall. My host said that when you see them wandering around in their black gowns they really do look like they've stepped out of Harry Potter! We then made our way down the Bailey to the river where we could get a fantastic view of the cathedral. We also spotted a Heron! My host had to zoom in to see it properly so I am rather blurry on this photo. At the end of the day we made our way back up to college. We were very tired from all the hill climbing so us TVs insisted on having a sunbathe in the grounds. |

Today we went to visit my host's friend in Bradford, West Yorkshire. We had to get two trains there and wait 30mins in Huddersfield so us TVs wandered out of the station and found some fountains and a nice statue. I think the statue is of a prime minister or something... My host isn't very good at history! We also took a picture of a lion on a nearby building.
The next train we boarded was very quiet so we had a whole table to ourselves. We got rather hyper and Mirembe was giving me a piggy back ride along the tops of the seats Then I spotted a perfect opportunity to fullfill part of one of my life missions; to read 10 different newspapers! Well, there was only the 'Metro' but it's a start It was a team effort to turn the pages though as I couldn't manage it on my own. When we arrived in Bradford we made lots of new friends. There was a friendly boy called Tristan who wanted to help us with our pictures And the cats were very welcoming too! Love Pinky |

Today we took Buzz Bluejay on his first trip in England, to a nearby town called Wigan. We went exploring round the back of the highstreet and found a lovely church. There were flower beds for us to jump in, although I was kinda disapearing in there When we had a group photo Buzz whacked me over the head! He didn't really, but it looks that way in the photo . We also found a strange statue of half a face, but when looking at it from the other side it looked like a whole face.
When we arrived back home Buzz, Mirembe and I helped Edelweiss with one of her life missions to eat something purple in Europe. We ate all the strawberries and green grapes so that she could have the purple ones. They were yummy! |
Gizalba Posted Jun 27, 2011, 7:17 pm |
On thursday we said goodbye to Mirembe. She was very nervous to go travelling but I reassured her that the risks are worth it in order to see so many exiting things like I have After her departure we went to nosy in the display cabinet in the living room.
On friday and saturday we went to stay in Bradford again but this time we got to see bit of the city centre. And a lovely bookshop where Edelweiss and I climbed up to the top shelf while Buzz flew, so that we could have a picture with the statue. In another part of the city we found a massive Sonic the hedgehog figure! I thought that was pretty cool |
Gizalba Posted Jun 29, 2011, 6:54 pm |
When we got off the train in Manchester we saw this massive sky scraper! Then we walked a bit to find a nice building. On the way saw a Harry Potter poster which my host liked
We found some pretty canal boats and on the other side of the canal there was a little toyvoyager-sized house. We wanted to visit it but we didn't have any canoes to get across the water We also saw a Roman Granary, there was a sign explaining but we got bored of that and wanted to play |
Gizalba Posted Jul 2, 2011, 7:38 pm |
It was the Croft village Carnival today mum! They have a procession through the streets with floats pulled by Tractors or Lorries. Buzz was very enthusiastic about driving a tractor but the rest of us didn't think it would be a very good idea!
Miss Becca says that this is the only day of the year when Croft looks like it has people in! At other times it is extremely quiet. We walked out of the estate to get a good view with no heads in the way. I sat with Buzz and Edel on someone's garden wall, to wait for it to begin. Here come the bagpipes! My picture only shows the drum bit though. Then came the queens. My host said that every year the kids apply to be a Queen, Princess, Rosebood, Attendant or Crown bearer. They used to have a curtseying and bowing competition but now they have a Disco and pick names out of a hat, apparently. Next came the Women's Institute float called 'Women of the world', they look like they're having fun And finally, the Brownie/girl scout angel float! That was very pretty. I have more photos which I will post later... Of scarecrows! |
Gizalba Posted Jul 9, 2011, 5:21 am |
Leading on from the last update...
Every year the carnival has a scarecrow competition where anyone in the village can make a scarecrow to display in their garden. This year's theme was the 70's! So we went to have a nosy Buzz and I though the 'Croft Village people' were the best, followed by Flower Power and Skarsky and Hutch because they used the Rabbit Hutch However Edel wanted Flower Power to win because that scarecrow matched her tummy! Buzz believed that makes her biased |
Gizalba Posted Jul 23, 2011, 8:48 pm |
The first photo was taken on the 14th of July when my host was getting ready for the midnight showing of the final Harry Potter. She was very thoughtful and made us hats for the occasion! Even though they only seem to wear hats in the first film... ah well. Sadly there was nothing exciting in the cinema for us to take more photos of :/
Today it was time to say farewell to my dear friends here in England But of course I am used to these departures by now, so I am a very brave bear. Woopee, Poland here I come!!! Buzz and Edelweiss hugged me goodbye. Buzz wanted me to give him a few last tips about toyvoyaging before I went! Then they made sure I was in a nice sleeping position for my journey. I will see you when I arrive mum! Love Pinky xxx |

Today we have a trip to Morag, Poland!
I managed to drive a car by myself Morag is 30 km from Ostróda, so it wasn't a long trip. Nevertheless, in the car I met a stork friend Morag is a small town in post-German areas. We visited some interesting places there. We saw the Town Hall which was built in 1444. In front of it there are old cannons. then we moved on to the pope John Paul II monument. It is quite big! Then we went to see the high school building. It's very old and my host used to go here for three years When we came back home I ate Polish pizza! I also make a new friend - with a ferret! Her name is Vena, she's 6 years old. She's really nice for me She agreed to sleep together to make me more comfortable here |

Hi mom!
Today I visited Kretowiny. On my way there I met a weasel which explained me that Kretowiny is a little village situated near the lake. There are many holiday resorts. When we were there, there was some sailing contest, so on one photo you can see many sailing boats behind me I was also on the beach, getting sunbathe After that, we went for a walk through the forest. It was fun |

Hi mom!
Today it was a long day of sightseeing. now you can see where I live now and what car I go to trips. In the car I travel with the weasel, rabbit and horse We went to see Ostroda. I have a picture with the Ostroda crest Then I saw the town council which is situated in a very old building. Near there is a castle built in XIV century. It's pretty nice, but the most awesome was the monument in front of the castle! We went to the lake on the pier. I saw there ducks! But when I came closer, the swam away We also saw a water ski lift. My host told me that for some time it was the longest lift in Poland! I wanted to have a go there, but Martyna told me that I'm too small for it Instead we went to the beach - I sunbathed for a while, now I'm almost red! I must stop sunbathing so much because then you have to change my name into Reddy I must to boast that I used the ATM! Now I know how Polish money looks like After a long trip we came home to my friends and ate dinner. We had dumpling with berries - they were delicious! For the dessert I tried Polish honey - it's called "miod" - it's soooooo sweeet! After dinner I read some news in a Polish newspaper. Mom, i must say, Polish is a strange language, so many cases and conjugations! I prefer English Then Vena the ferret showed me her cage. It's so big and have two floors. Then Vena allowed me to sleep in her own bad. It's pink, so it fits to me. It's also very soft and comfortable, so I fell asleep really fast My host told me that tomorrow we also will visit some other place in Ostróda, so even though I miss you, I'm having fun here Kisses! She's a giraffe and this is the beginning of her voyages It was very nice to show her around We were together on the beach and in all the places I was earlier And Mom, you don't believe it - today I saw on my own two places from the postcards! On is the Bismarck Tower and the second one is one of the main streets. You can compare - I have my photos and the cards I feel almost like a star |
ven-a Posted Aug 8, 2011, 4:53 pm |
Hello everyone!
Today we went to see the Baltic Sea. Flora came with us We went to the beach to see and touch sea water. I tried it - it's salty! Then we went to the Old Town. The most interesting thing was the Krzywy Domek - it looks like the perspective of a drunk man It means the crooked/bend house. You can learn more about it on www.krzywydomek.info - the site is also in English. We were very lucky - when we got into the car, it started to rain very hard. Even though we wanted to visit Gdansk, we couldn't make it because of the rain. But it doesn't matter - I had a great time See you! PinkyHH |

I had a great time in Poland, but what's good, ends fast. I met fantastic people and friends here, had a great sightseeing, but now Belarus waits for me! I said goodbye to all my new friends and I'm looking forward to seeing some of Belarus! My host sent for the next person the postcard with the special stamp from Ostroda Reggae Festival and some sweets - for the trip I hope nothing bad happens while travelling there. a minute before leaving Poland, I had a shot of Polish vodka for the courage for the long trip. Keep your fingers crossed for me and my voyage! |

Hi Mum!
Today I arrived at Bochum. I know I haven’t reported to you for a long time, I am really sorry about it. But now I am here and everything is fine. When host mum took the envelope into the house I could hear voices outside the envelope and then I saw Pings face, when he opened it. Ping and his big brother Happy gave me a warm welcome. I was very happy about it. After that I gave host mum the postcard. She wants to thank you for it. She told me, that she wants to make a photo album, with a lot of memories from all the TV’s who will visit her. Because of my long trip I was very hungry. So host mum and dad made dinner for Ping an me. We had spaghetti. They were very yummy. But one plate was too much for me, so I shared it with Ping. After we finished our meal Ping suggested we should take a bath so that I could relax from my journey. Can you see it Mum? The water was pink. I think I will have some great days here. I will soon write again. See you! PinkyHH |

Hi Mum!
Today we went to the cinema. We watched "Man on a Ledge" (Ein riskanter Plan). It was a very exciting film. Before we watched the movie, we’ve got something to eat. I had pommes and a cheeseburger. But the burger was so big, that Ping and I shared one. Ping want’s to help me with the milkshake, but we couldn’t reach it. So host dad helped me with it. Here you could see the cinema. It is really big. Ping showed me where we could get our tickets. I helped host dad to get the tickets. Can you see me? Host mum told us, that we have to be silent while we were watching the movie. Oh mum I had so much fun, watching the movie. I want to go to the cinema again. See you, PinkyHH |

Hi Mum!
Today Ping and I were a little bit bored. Host mum and dad went dancing and we were alone at home. We looked at some books but it doesn’t help. So we decided to play “hide and seek”. Happy played with us and started counting, while we were hiding. I was searching for a good place to hide. Asmo offers me to hide under his cap. So I climbed up to his head and hide under it. Happy found Ping first. He was hiding into the closet where host mum and dad store their games. After that Happy and Ping were searching together to find me. Ping found me under Asmos cap. Because Ping found a very interesting looking game while he was hiding we decided to play a round. It’s a card playing game called “Dominion”. Oh mum, it made a lot of fun, playing this game. I won the first round against Ping. But then Ping won the next round. See you your PinkyHH |

Hi Mum!
Today we had a lot of fun. Host mum told us, that we were going to the Netherlands at the weekend. Her mother-in-law has birthday and we want to visit her. Ping and I helped host dad making a cake for her. First we need eggs. The eggs are nearly as big as I am. Host dad told us that we have to put the baking mixture into the bowl first. I helped Ping with opening and putting it into the bowl. Now the margarine gets into the bowl. That was my job. Even though I’m very small I have a lot of power. Finally the egg has to go into the bowl. Now we get to the funniest part, when we mix everything together. Even though the cake is not finished yet, it already looks delicious. So now he just has to go into the oven. While the cake was in the oven, Ping and I grabbed host dad’s Dutch books to learn a little Dutch for the weekend. First we read the lesson together and then we asked each other questions to check if we could remember everything. It worked very well. At least I now know what “Good morning” and “honey” is in Dutch. “Honey” is called “Honing”. After we finished learning, the cake was ready too. Doesn’t it look delicious? But we’re not allowed to eat it now. But that’s okay because host mum promised us, that we will get a piece of it on Saturday. |
Shilo Posted Feb 6, 2012, 9:28 pm |
Hello Mum!
Today we were going to the Netherlands. After we fetched host mum from work, we started our journey. I’m looking forwards to it, because I heard that there will be snow on Texel. During our journey Ping and I looked out of the window and told host dad where he had to go. Later we we’re allowed to drive the car on our own. Not that easy, when you are so small. Because of that, Ping helped me a little bit. Before we reached the Netherlands it started to snow very strong. So we decided to let host dad drive the car again. Ping and I watched the snow out of the window. I’d loved to stop and play in it with Ping, because it looked so nice and it was the first time, that Ping saw snow. But we couldn’t do this, because we had to reach the ferry to Texel in time. Host mum bought some cookies as a small meal. They were very yummy. Ping wanted to eat them all by himself. After lunch I was so tired that I had to take a nap. Sadly we missed our ferry due to the massive amount of snow. So we had to wait one hour for the next one. But Ping and I used the time and had a look at the harbor of Den Helder. On the ferry we seated ourselves in the waiting area. Sadly it was too dark outside to make any pictures, so Ping and I started playing with host dad’s hat. When we finally arrived on Texel, Ping and I were so tired that we went into the bed directly. Good night. See you tomorrow. Your Pinky |
Shilo Posted Feb 8, 2012, 5:45 pm |
Hello Mum,
I had a wonderful night. Because we are only here for a short visit, we decided to start right after breakfast, to see as much as possible of Texel. First of all we drove to De Burg. This is a very cute little city. There are lots of very cool shops here. For example a whole shop filled with all kind of candy. Sadly we didn’t take a picture there. We found a new friend here in Den Burg. Her name is Snowball and she grew up here on Texel. Snowballs greatest dream is to become a tourist guide. So she guided us around Texel. After we finished our tour through De Burg we traveled on to De Koog, to buy some ingredients for lunch. We met a very nice seal in front of the supermarket. We we’re allowed to sit on her back while we waited for the shopping to be put into the car. And I could sit on her head. Isn’t this a great church? After the shopping we went back to our house to warm up a little and eat the very delicious birthday cake. We also had a cup of tea. Hmm the cake was really yummy. Especially with all the cream on it. After we finished our meal Ping and I helped tiding up. Mum can you see me? Next we went to Bollekamer. This is a nature protection area, in which wild horses and cows live. Just beyond the entrance of the area there grazed a group of wild horses. Host dads mum told us, that they had never before seen the horses this close in the area. So we had a lot of luck there. The landscape looks great with all the snow. You can look very far. Ping got a little bit afraid when we saw this bird of prey in the sky. But luckily he wasn’t hunting us, but another animal. Anyway we wanted to go on quickly. Look what Ping found: A giant bathtub for penguins. But we don’t have the time to take a bath. This small „forest“ shall give shadow to the cows in the summer. But right now they give you the feeling of being in the middle of a desert. From above here you have a great view. Here we have some free living cows. They have very long fur and gigantic horns. I think it’s good that they aren’t too close to us. Because the others needed to warm up a little, we went back home. Because Ping and I were not freezing we went outside and build a snowman. Isn’t it great? After the others warmed up, we went to Cocksdorp to the lighthouse. The lighthouse is really huge. And right next to the lighthouse there is a BIG beach. Wow what a great sunset. Snowball really didn’t promised us too much. What a great view over the ocean. Snowball told us that this is the North Sea. Since everybody else was freezing because of the wind we started our journey back home. See you tomorrow. You’re Pinky |
Shilo Posted Feb 11, 2012, 12:40 pm |
Good morning Mum!
It’s a pity but we have to go back home today. But before we leave we make a small trip to “De Schlufter”. It’s another beautiful beach to have a walk there. First we have to cross the bank, to get to the beach. We’re very high above here so we have a great view. There are a lot of small, hidden watercourses which are mostly frozen due to the cold weather. Anyway you have to watch your steps so that you don’t slip on the ice or break through it. Of course this is no problem for us because Snowball is leading us very good around the water. At some places where the water is not frozen you can see some sea-gulls. Even though it is very windy we managed to get to the sea but because the wind is so freezing cold we have to start our journey back immediately. Anyway, then I will look around a bit while we are traveling back. So now we have to leave. Bye bye little house, perhaps we will meet again someday. Soon the ferry will leave to Den Helder. Today we can look out of the window during the cruise. In the harbor there are lots of sea-gulls flying around the ship. As soon as we reach the car we can already see the harbor of Den Helder. Bye bye Texel. See you next time. |

Hi Mum!
Today two new TV’s arrived, Ranil and Captain. We gave them a warm welcome. Captain took out his Travel book and showed it to us. It looks really cool. Later we started to make us costumes for Venice. First we helped Ping sewing a hat. It was really funny, but also a lot of work. Everybody wanted to make a different costume. But I don’t know what I could sew me. And what cloth I should take. I think Captain also didn’t know. Than I had a great idea. I made a coat for me out of the same cool cloth as Pings hat. Don’t you think it suites me well? Here you can see a group picture from us, with our cool costumes. Now the carnival can come. See you Your Pinky |

Hi Mum!
Tomorrow we were flying to Venice, I am very excited about it. But today, we went to friends from my host parents. Here we met two new friends, Hubertus the monk and Cosy the Teddy. In the evening we were playing some games. Hubertus gave us some sweets before we started playing. They were really yummy. After that Cosy taught us the rules of the game “El Grande”. Captain and I played together against the others. It made a lot of fun. Snowball had won the game. But Captain and I made the second place. After that we played “Triomino”. It’s a really cool game. See you in Venice PinkyHH |

Hello Mum.
I’m so happy, because today we were flying to Venice. I’m very curious how the carnival will be. We drove to Düsseldorf airport. There we went to the waiting area and took a seat. While we were waiting for the boarding, we looked out of the window and watched the other planes starting and landing. Finally we are on the plane and make ourselves comfortable. I’m really curious how the flight will be. Wow what a cool view. I could look really far from here. Here you could see the Alps. After over one hour we had a safe landing. Now we have to get our suitcases. It’s very funny watching the bags go around the conveyor. When we arrived at the hotel, we were really tired from the flight. So we decided to go to bed. Good night Your Pinky |

Good Morning Mum!
Today is our first day in Venice. I’m so happy about it and a little curious how it will be there. Venice is connected to the mainland with a gigantic bridge. You could cross the bridge by train, car, bus or you could walk. We went there by bus, because the bus stop is next to our hotel. Unfortunately we couldn’t take pictures from our tour, because it was too full in the bus. We arrived in Venice at a big bus station. From there we started our tour through the streets. We were just looking around and saw a lot of cool places. Here you could see the view from the famous Rialto Bridge over the Canal Grande. It is so wonderfull. After that, we arrived at the Piazza de San Marco. Here we could see the Basilica di San Marco, a beautiful church and Campanile di San Marco, a very high bell tower. At the Piazza were a lot of tourists and people in wonderful costumes. Mum, this carnival seems to be really great. After we walked around the Piazza for a while we decided to go somewhere else. So we went down to the promenade at the water. After a while we decided to go back into the city and came to a park. Here we saw a cool statue with a big lion. We walked a long time through the streets and saw a lot of interesting streets and houses. Later we went to a little restaurant and ate something. When it was getting dark, we decided to go home. See you Your PinkyHH |

Bongiorno Mum!
I wish you a happy Valentine’s Day! Today is our second day in Venice. I’m curious what this day will bring. When we arrived at the bus station in Venice, we decided to take one of the waterbuses, called vaporetti, to San Marco. We got the chance, to have a look around the lagoon and the canal. It was very interesting. When we arrived at San Marco, we went to the Basilika di San Marco. It is the most famous of the city's churches, constructed in 828, and one of the best known examples of Byzantine architecture. Originally it was the chapel of the Doge, and has only been the city's cathedral since 1807. For its opulent design, gilded Byzantine mosaics, and its status as a symbol of Venetian wealth and power, from the 11th century on the building has been known by the nickname Chiesa d'Oro (Church of gold). Woooow, this church is really awesome. It looks like everything is out of gold. Everywhere we could see great paintings on the walls and the ceiling. Have you ever seen something so impressive? Then we went to the treasure chamber. Here we could see golden candleholders, crosses and a lot more. It was very interesting. After that we went up to the top of the church. Here were a lot of cool things to see at the St Mark’s Museum. From here you got a wonderful view into the nave. Especially one room in the Museum was very great. The painting on the ceiling was very impressive. Then we went outside on the balcony. From here we got a great view over the Piazza San Marco and the sea promenade. The Horses of Saint Mark were installed on the basilica in about 1254. After a long restoration, since the 1990s they have been kept in St Mark’s Museum (inside the basilica). The horses now on the facade of the cathedral are bronze replicas. We spend the rest of the day on the Piazza and the Promenade. Here we wanted to use the time to enjoy the impression of the carnival. It is said that the Carnival of Venice was originated from a victory of the "Repubblica della Serenissima", Venice previous name, against the Patriarch of Aquileia, Ulrico in the year 1162. In the honor of this victory, the people started to dance and make reunions in San Marco Square. Apparently this festival started on that period and become official in the renaissance. After a long absence, the carnival return to operate in 1979. It was great to see all these different costumes. Her costume is so wonderful pink |

Good Morning Mum!
Today started with a big surprise for host dad. When he came out of the bathroom, he saw the candles and a balloon in the shape of a heart, that host mum had prepared for their wedding day. He was very happy about it. After the breakfast we went to Venice. From the Bus station we took the waterbus to Murano. Before we reached Murano we stopped at Cimitero di san Michele, the Graveyard Island. It was a very impressive graveyard. When we entered it, we saw hundreds of white crosses. On most of them where pictures of dead. Everywhere where flowers, so everything looks very colorful. I have never seen something like that before. After that we reached big white walls with lots and lots of names and pictures of people that had passed away. There were also a lot of flowers for them. It reminded me a little of the pictures of American graveyards. Out of respect for the dead, we took only Pictures from the outside. After our short stop, we reached Murano. Here we could see wonderful glass art, but it wasn’t allowed to take photos in the shops. But when we walked through the streets we found three great sculptures there. Later we also found a small restaurant, which has decorated the tables outside with some beautiful glass flowers. After a while, we went back to the San Marco Piazza. There we decided to go and have a look at the Palazzo Ducale. The Doge's Palace is a gothic palace and was the residence of the Doge of Venice, the supreme authority of the Republic of Venice. Sadly we weren’t allowed to take pictures from the wonderful paintings and sculptures inside. So I can’t show you how great the biggest wall painting in the world looks like. But we could take some Pictures with some sculptures outside. The court and the prisons were originally in the Doge's Palace. A famous inmate was Giacomo Casanova. The new prison was built across the Rio de Palazzo from the palace. It was connected to the palace by the Bridge of Sighs. At first it was a little bit scary to look around the prison, but then it was very interesting. The cells were really small. And on the walls you could see some texts that the inmates had written on them. We walked over the Bridge of Sights, to the new prison. When we watched out of the small window, we could see the lagoon. We spend the rest of the day at the Piazza and looked at the people in the wonderful costumes. When it was getting dark, we took the bus back to the hotel |

Hello Mum.
Today was our last day in Venice. I was a little bit sad about it, but we wanted to enjoy this last day. And at the end, it was the best day that we had here in Venice. It was the last time, we took the bus to Venice. And today we could take some Pictures from our tour. We took the waterbus to the Santa Maria Della Salute church. On the way to the church we had a great look around Venice from the Canal Grande. In Venice everything was transported on boats. On the place before the church, were a lot of people in costumes, which we haven’t seen before. And the best was that we got the chance to take some pictures with them together today. They were really friendly and it made a lot of fun, making photos together. This group comes from Vienna. They wanted to know more about us and Toy Voyagers, so host mum told them a little bit. After a while we decided to have a look at the church. Later we went back to the Piazza San Marco with the waterbus. We planned to climb up the Campanile di San Marco, the high Clock tower on the Piazza. From so high above we had a wonderful look over Venice. Everything seemed to be so extremely small. This is the Bridge between Venice and the Mainland. And this is the stage for the Carnival contest Here you could see the old bells. Then we went down to the Piazza again and enjoyed the rest of the day while watching some more costumes. It was really a great ending of our trip to Venice today. I hope I get the chance to come here again. |

Good Morning Mum!
Today host mum told us, that Captain and Ping will travel to their next hosts. Because this is the last time that we were all together, we planned to go bowling. Ping had told us about it and it sounds really funny. First we looked around and Ping explained us, how to play. After that, I was searching for a bowling ball. Ohhh the pink one is for me. It looks so wonderful. Because it was Saturday night there where a competition, which lane was the best in a certain time. Yeah, we made the third place in the competition. I got my own seat. It was really comfortable. After a time, we needed a little Break. This game is very exhausting. Then it was my turn. I think I was really good in this game. At the end we were waiting for the final result. Ping was the winner and Snowball made the last place. So she was a little bit disappointed Now we are all very tired. Let’s go to bed. Bowling made a lot of fun and I think it was a great ending of the time that we spend together. Bye bye |

Today was really sad, because Captain and Ping were traveling to their new host. So we had to say goodbye.
We hugged each other and wished them a save journey. I think I will miss my new friends. But hopefully we will meet again one day. Before they left, Happy sang a wonderful song for them. We made one last group picture together Then they went into their envelops. Good bye Captain and Ping. |

Good morning Mum,
Today we planned to go to Sea Life, but unfortunately we were a little late and didn’t want to stand one hour in the line. So we decided to go the Cento. The Centro is one of the two biggest shopping malls here in the Ruhrgebiet. Here were so many people. Hmm where should we go first? This is the best shop in the mall. The Build a Bear Shop. In the evening we played Mississippi Queen. I tried to sit on my boat. Now we could start. Hmm I am not sure what my next move should be Oh no, I’ve lost. Snowball has won the game and Ranil made the second place. After the game Ranil went to bed, because he was really tired. Because Snowball and I weren’t tired we decided to play a round Thunder Stone before we went to bed. Good night Mum |

Hello Mum!
Today was a very funny day. We went to the friends from our host parents again. At first Snowball, Ranil and I were playing some games on the X- Box. We played Soul Calibur. At the end Ranil had won the game. After that, we took a little break and ate some mini pizzas. They were really tasty. Hmm there is only one left. Snowball cut it into pieces and we shared it. Later we sang some songs on Ultrastar. It made so much fun. I sang Bohemian Rhapsody together with Ranil. It wasn’t easy but I think I made it quite well. Bye Your PinkyHH |

Hallo Mum,
Today a new TV arrived. His name is Freddi and he is a hedge hock. We gave him a warm welcome. When we spoke over our experiences on our tours, A’Tuin wanted to travel too. So she tried to get into Freddi’s envelope. But she was a little bit too big for it. So we started to help her out. I told the others where they should pull the envelope. It took a while, but then we made it. A’Tuin was happy when she gets out of the envelope. After that she wanted to stay at home, because she was afraid of the small envelope. After this happy and funny start, the day ends a little bit sad, when we have to say goodbye to Ranil, because he travels on to his new host today. Before he got into his envelope, we took one last group picture together. Then it was time to say goodbye. We hugged each other and wished him farewell. Then he went into the envelope. I wish him a short and save trip. See you soon Mum Love PinkyHH |

Hello mommy!
Today I arrived in Ebersbach, where my big journey to London starts in a few days. I was so happy not to stay very long in this tiny envelope and LadyButterfly rescued me of it! Ohhhhh now I recognized... there is a photo missing mommy! You havn't seen my welcome-sign! Don't worry, I will show it tomorrow to you, it was very sweet! The first person I met, after LadyButterfly forsure, was the cat Mary! He is a nice cat... oh and yes, I havn't wrote it wrong! He is a male cat, with a female name. Funny, isn't it, but LadyButterfly told me the secret of his name. She thought he is a female cat, when she got him and later, when she found out he is male, she havn't found a real good name. So he stayed Mary! *sing* I kissed a cat and I like did it! *sing* On LadyButterflys notebook I found a picture of the London Eye! Soon I will see it with my own eyes... how great! We must do many, many pictures! And I also found the perfect bag for my vest! I hope I will stay under the 20 kg with my luggage! Mommy, it was a long and hard day, I will go to bed now and dream of London! Soon I will be there... just a few days... I miss you very much! Love PinkyHH |
LadyButterfly Posted Mar 5, 2012, 8:45 pm |
Hi mommy!
Have you ever recognized that days are pass very slowly when you are excited on something? I recognized it since I landed here in Ebersbach! I wait for thursday and the beginning of my London-trip, but it takes still so long until thursday. But befor crying anymore I tell you what I have done the last days! On saturday late at night, I was very tired, we all sat together to watch the fight of Klitschko! LadyButterfly is a big fan of him and boxing and so we took a chocolate and gathered around the television. But luckily for me the fight last very long, because I was so tired of my journey. We hadn't even enough time to open the chocolate and I was the first TV who went to bed! On saturday we made our first travelgroup photo. It is funny, we are a dog, a frog, a rat, Santa and me... a very colourfull group! But I think I will have much fun with all of them! After our first meeting, we all decided, we want to know a little bit more about London. So Ranil and me googled a little bit and told the others what we have found. As we allready know, London is the capital city of Great Britain. There are living 7.825.200 people are living there and these is the numbre of 2010! London is a city with the most people in the EU! It was founded in the year 47 by the romans and was called Londonium. Later in the 2. century it became the capital city of Britain. Today London is a very important town of cultur, financial and trade! This is the blazon of London! Also very interessting is the distance between Ebersbach and London! You can see the red spot on the picture? This is London! And you can see the hand? This is Ebersbach, where I am now! The distance between is 1197 km! I'm happy we will fly and I hope I'll have the chance to read a newspaper in London! Also very interessting is the weather forecast for London. As we all know there isn't sometimes very good weather in London. But march should be the best month of the year. So we watched a british homepage for the forecast! Rain on saturday and sunday, but just a little bit... it looks good for the moment and the weather changes every day! So wish us luck, we will have good weather, mommy! But today and here in Germany the weather was fantastic! So sunny, so I decided to take a little sunbath on the balkonie. Sadly LadyButterfly had no current newspaper, because that was much more fun, than just lay around in the sun, but it was ok! In the afternoon we took a little walk in the nice weather. The perfect time to visit the spring of the Spree. There are three springs of the Spree and we visited the oldest. It is called "Spreeborn"! For the visitors was build a nice pavillion so they can take a rest near the Spreeborn. We decided it is time for another group photo! Also LadyButterflys TVs were with us. This photo was taken on the Spreeborn. Sadly we couldn't see the water of the spring, because it is winter the spring was closed. On this sign you can read: "Waterlevel of the Spreeborn 387,26 m over the Eastsee" And here I am together with the blazon of saxony! Mommy, I hope you also had such a nice weather like me today! Love PinkyHH |
LadyButterfly Posted Mar 15, 2012, 3:41 pm |
I'M BACK MOMMY!!!
And it was fantastic in London! The town is so beautifull, so big and loud and friendly and wonderfull! The british people are so nice! Now I will tell you what I have done and seen in London, but don't worry today I will only show you the pictures of my first day in London. In the night to thursday it was hard to sleep. I tried it, but there was no chance and LadyButterfly felt the same way. So we checked our luggage the last time! But also important was to count the money! The funniest thing... on every coin and note is the face of Queen Elisabeth. Also very strange, the 2 pence coin is much bigger then the 20 pence coin. Very confusing! Ok ok you are right... I didn't count the money... I just took a money-bath! We also had a traveling-plan! That was very usefull because our day was full with sightseeing and other cool stuff. And the book was also very important, it showed us much things. But we weren't lost if we had forgott the boog. The british people are very friendly and if they think you got lost, they ask if they can help you! Early in the morning at 2 am they journey started. Our first trip was to the airport Berlin Schönefeld. There everything goes really fast, we checked in and walk trough the security check. In the transitarea we had a little bit time to take a picture, befor our plane was ready. Great Britain at 8 am our plane landed safetly and we took our first steps on british ground. There was a welcome sign on the Gatwick Airport, which is 50 km away from London. We took a train to London! Our first way brought us to our hotel, where we stored our luggage and then we drove by tube to the Baker Street. Yes the real Baker Street, where Sherlock Holmes lived. I was so happy about it, so I took Gypsy and we made a picture together! And out of the station I saw him! The one and only Sherlock Holmes! Just a few steps away from the Baker Street is Madam Tussauds, but sadly it was not possible to take any photos! There were so much people, croweds of pupil and tourists, it was even hard for LadyButterfly to take any pictures. After Madam Tussauds we visited the Regent's Park, one of the royal parks of the Queen. He is very, very big and we were just there to take a little rest. So we just saw a little part of the park, but he was very beautifull with wild animals everywhere. Ok they weren't really wild, because they allready know the tourists have food for them. I also saw a heron very close, he wasn't affraid of me! Our first day in London was almost over, so we decided to visit a local pub witch is called "The Goose". It was so comfortable there and the ale was great, but LadyButterfly had to help me with my ale. That's to much for a little bear like me and I don't wanted to be drunk on the first day! Late in the evening we all went to bed and cuddled a little bit. I fell asleep very fast, because I hadn't slept the whole day and the night befor. That was my first day in London! Very exciting, but I was happy we didn't do so much, because it was very exhausting. Soon I will tell you of my second day! Love PinkyHH |
LadyButterfly Posted Mar 21, 2012, 7:00 pm |
Hi mom!
So today it's time to tell you of my second day in London! That was a very busy day and we saw very much and famous sights! But befor I started this day, I had a coffee and read the newspaper of the day. This paper is the "Metro" and you can get it in every underground-station for free. I think thats a pretty god idea, because the "Metro" is like every other big german newspaper. In the evening hours all newspaper stands are empty, so the paper seems to be very popular! After reading the paper we watched together the map and decided what we will do today! We choosed to visit the Buckingham Palace where we wanted to watch the "Guard Mounting"! But we had still a little bit time and so we drove with the tube to Piccadilly Circus to watch the huge video wall and the famous Shaftesbury Memorial Fountain. It's funny when I steped out of the underground station, I didn't really recognize this is Piccadilly Circus! It looks very different on the pictures. But the fountain and the video wall showed me, I really stood on Piccadilly Circus. The Piccadilly Circus was finished in 1819 and was a wish of king George IV. He wanted a magnificent mile and so he instructed the famous architect John Nash. The fountain in the middle of the Piccadilly Circus is the Shaftesbury Memorial Fountain and otherwise as it's called the figure on the fountain isn't Eros! This figure should show the angel of loving the others (google didn't gave me the word for "Nächstenliebe" ) The first advertising on Piccadilly Circus was shown 1900, but since the 1980s the video wall is the only advertising there. There are just a few companys who use the wall! It's Coca Cola, Sanyo, TDK, McDonalds and Samsung. You won't believe how long it took me, to make this picture together with a red bus! It's also at Piccadilly Circus and LadyButterfly always took her camera when the buses drove away! After our visit of Piccadilly Circus we took the tube to Buckingham Palace! Here you can see me infront of the Victoria Memorial and next to the traffic lights you can see a Bobby... a english police men! The Victoria Memorial was build to honor Queen Victoria and it is a 26 m high group of figures. It was revealed in 1911 and the golden figure on the top showes the godess of victory. It was designed by Sir Aston Webb and build by Thomas Brock. The Queen was at home, mommy! You can see it on the flag! But sadly we havn't saw her! But we saw another member of the royal family. Just a few moments after we visited Buckingham Palace a Rolls-Royce drove next to us, he stoped by a traffic light and we had the chance to look inside! And the we saw Camilla was inside of the car. LadyButterfly tried to make a picture, but sadly the car drove away befor she had the chance to make even one picture! Ok but back to Buckingham Palace! Have you ever thought about what curtains the Queen has? White? Royal? HA! No they are grey and don't look very royal... that was funny! But we weren't there to watch the curtains! We watched the "Guard Mounting"! It was very cool, but me and also LadyButterfly hadn't seen very much! There where to many people, but we heard the songs of the bagpipes and the loud yelling of the guards. So mommy... believe it or not! But me and LadyButterfly havn't found out what this is! We googled a little bit and thought this is the Marble Arch, but it isn't! I said maybe it is a very small Brandenburger Tor because of the Quadriga, but it isn't. So here a picture of me infront of an nameless arch! We all were very hungry of out trip to Buckingham Palace, so we decided to visit Chinatown where we wanted to have lunch. We read in our London-book, you can get very good food in all-you-can-eat-restaurants in Chinatown and so we wanted to eat this! Us on a monument in Chinatown! Don't worry I havn't lost my vest, it was just to warm for me! This is just a part of my lunch in Chinatown. It was soooooooo good, you wouldn't believe it mommy! I never thought I can eat so much, but I took three dishes! From Chinatown we wanted to walk to Westminster Abbey and Big Ben and on this way we found the Downing Street, where the prime minister lives. But you can't see very much of the street and you can't see the house where ther prime minister lives. There are just heavy armed policemen! They looked a bit confused when they saw LadyButterfly taking the photo with me! Our next stop was the London Eye, the biggest ferris in europe! It is also known as Millenium Wheel and is 135 m high. It was build in 1998 and finished in 2000. To see Big Ben or I should better say "The Clock Tower" because Big Ben is only the heaviest of the five bells in the tower. The bell weights 13,5 tons and her ringing is called "The Voice of Britain"! I heard it two times! The last sight on this day was Westminster Abbey, where we heard the evensong of the choir. So we decided only to make photos outside of Westminster Abbey! But mommy, I stood on this place where Kate married William... it was so romantic! A very full second day and I was very tired in the evening... I never believed my feets can hurt so much! So next time I will tell you of my third day! Love PinkyHH |
LadyButterfly Posted Apr 20, 2012, 10:36 am |
Hey mommy!
Today we visited the Tower-Bridge and the Tower of London, it was amazing and if you believe me or not, but the Tower-Bridge looks much more beautiful when you can see it for real. It was my second time I saw the river Thames and we used our way to the Tower to have a little walk along the river. But first we say the Tower-Bridge from another bridge. LadyButterflys mom helped us sitting on the picture, because LadyButterfly was a little bit afraid we could fall into the Thames. Just a few steps away from the Tower Bridge lays a biiiiiig ship in the Thames. It is the HMS Belfast and it is the biggest light cruiser of the Royal Navi. It was build in december 1936 and is 187 m long. Today the HMS Belfast is a museum, but sadly it wasn't open today, so I can't take a look inside. My first real look at the Tower Bridge! The Tower Bridge was opened in 1894 and it connects the districe Tower Hamlets with the district London Borough of Southwark. The bridge is 244 m long and each bridgetower is 65 m high. You can pass the bridge by car or you can walk... I decided to walk across the bridge and it was very cool. It looks so nice and the real colour is amazing! From the Tower Bridge you just fall into the Tower of London. I never thought that its area is so big. But there are so much little museums inside the Tower, even a little zoo and also the ravens. But sadly I just saw one raven and LadyButterfly wasn't fast enough with her camera. We also didn't saw the beefeater, the guard of the Tower, so it was a little bit depressing there. I saw the crownjewels of the Queen, but it was forbidden to take pictures there, but believe me... the diamond on the crownd of the Queen is bigger than me. And we even had great weather... nothing to see of the bad english weather! Love PinkyHH |
LadyButterfly Posted Apr 20, 2012, 10:55 am |
Good morning mommy!
Can I invite you to a real british breakfast? Believe me, it looks stranger then it tastes. I like it and it gave me the perfect power to start a new day with much walking! But befor I started my day, I had to write you a postcard! Today we wanted to visit the Highgate Cemetry, but I have to tell you, we decided not to take any TV photos there. I think it is very rude to take any pictures on a cemetry, so I hope you aren't very sad! But on our way to Highgate Cemetry, we found a very cool phonecell! In the afternoon I visited the Pettycoatlane-Market. It is a huge market that opens on weekends. You can by there very cheap clothes, so LadyButterfly bought three "London"-pullovers for only 3 pound. But it was very full on this market and I had problems not to lose my traveling group. Today is also the goodbye-evening! I'm a little bit sad of leaving London again so fast, but we all decided to celebrate this with a huge and very british meal! FISH AND CHIPS!!! Yummmmmmmi!!!!! So goodbye London, maybe I will come back again... who knows! Love PinkyHH |

Cyn Posted May 1, 2012, 1:34 pm |
Hi mum!!!
Well Cyn's is kinda busy at the moment with her work so we had to stay home.. So i decided to take a book and read some about Nederland and Alkmaar.. The place where i am staying! Im staying in Nederland (well known as Holland) It's a small country in the north-west of Europe. Have you ever been there mom? Alkmaar is above all Holland's cheese town. During the season from the first Friday of April to the first Friday of September a traditional cheese market is being held here on Friday mornings between 10 and 12.30. The cheeses are sold by dealers on a clap of hands. Thereupon the 400 year old cheese porters' guild goes into action, carrying the cheese off on barrows after the lot has been weighed at the Waag (the official scales). In the Waaggebouw - in which the scales are housed - a cheese museum that tells everything about dairy farming has been established. Alkmaar is historical with around 400 monuments. The Waag, dating back in its earliest form to the 14th century, the 16th century town-hall, Grote St. Laurens Church and the many courtyards, facades and canals give the town an ambience all of its own. Learn more about it at www.livinghistoryalkmaar.com .With the past as a setting, the town has a modern stock of shops offering a wide choice. Besides the predominantly small shops in the old centre, the Noorder Arcade with large scale shopping facilities stands by the side of the Noord Holland Canal. Alkmaar is the biggest town in the region and therefore also its centre for going out. There is a range of restaurants of various kinds, pavement cafés and coffee houses, as well as theatres and museums. Numerous events are also organised including The Relief of Alkmaar, Culinary Plaza and Cheese Town Jazz. Relaxation can also be found in the Geestmerambacht recreational area close by, and the parks and sports facilities. Well i hope i will visit the city one day!! But i'm pretty sure Cyn will take me there! Miss you mom! |
Cyn Posted May 1, 2012, 1:37 pm |

Hi mom!!
Today is national Queens-day here in the Netherlands. It's a special day and most of the shops are closed aswell the schools! This morning Cyn gave me a newspaper!! She hopes i didn't saw it before.. So you can change my Life Missions!! Meet the paper "de Telegraaf", de biggest national newspaper in Holland. At the first page you can see the Dutch queen, Queen Beatrix. Also on the first page you can see one of the 3 princesses.. It's Amalia the oldest daughter of crownprince Willem-Alexander and Princess Maxima. Later today i will go and take a look at the city of Alkmaar.. How cool!! Bye mom!! Oh, im updating today in orange, because the national colour of Holland is orange! |
Cyn Posted May 3, 2012, 10:28 am |
Hi mom!!
Like i said before, today it's queensday here in the Netherlands! Cyn's mom took me and Mr.Flocki to the city of Alkmaar to take a look around! Can you see the Dutch flag? It's a tradition to do that on queensday! Everyone is dressed in orange since that is the national colour! Stroopwafels!!! That are typical dutch cookies filled with caramel! I think they will be lovely!! At the "vrijmarkt" (it's a market) people can sell old stuff, for small prices!! Cyn's mom bought a lot of small toy's, so Cyn can have a lot of new TV's soon! So mom, this was queensday here in Holland! Hope you liked it! Bye! |

Hi mom!!
Well today finally i made it to Cyn's work!! She told me before that she works at a travelagency, but i wanted to see her office so badly, that she decided to take me and Mr.Flocki to her work! We jumped into her bag and made it to Castricum, a small town 12 km away from Alkmaar. Look mom, i'm in the Netherlands right now! At the office there was a huge Egyptian cat and i was a bit scared, but Cyn told me that it was save to sit down there and take a photo! Cyn showed me her computer and i looked at the KLM website! Maybe i will make a reservation for myself to a hot country, it's way to cold here!! And guess what mom, at the office are a lot of magazines, and i picked some places where i would love to go one day! Maybe London? Or Paris? I love to travel mom! Thanks for making me a ToyVoyager! Love, PinkyHH |

Cyn Posted May 14, 2012, 2:41 pm |
Hi mommy!!!
Today was an amazing day!! This morning we jumped into the car and took a ride to IJmuiden.. Mr. Flocki and I travelled to IJmuiden, that's a village about 25 minutes away from Alkmaar. There is the port of IJmuiden, and a lot of boats you can find over there! Can you see me mom? I'm sitting over there on this white "thing". All the boats are fishermans boats, so it smells like fish over there Don't worrie mom, i don't smell like fish now Wow, there are so many boats!! This one is not for fishermans.. It's the ferry from IJmuiden to Newcastle UK.. It take about 16 hours from here to Newcastle.. You can book a diner on board, enjoy the bars and casino and take a nap in your cabine! Lovely isn't it? After this we also went to "Het Kopje van de Haven", well known as the end of the harbour.. Here you can see the Northsea! Do you see the fort behind me? It's build around 1885 so it's really old!! Now it's only used for party! Here you can see one of the biggest factories in Nederland. It's called Tata Steel, a big producer of steel worldwide! Well mom, this was it for today! Hope everything is allright with you! Love, Pinky |

Hello,
I arrived at home today. Dicker Kumpel gave me a warm welcome! I had fun in the flowers on the balcony. There was a funny frog. I arrived in the right time for the soccer match tomorrow! Look, I found a nice place to relax. It is great to be at home again. Love PinkyHH |

Hello friends,
I made a walk to this lake today. I wanted to swim in it, but it was too green. So I decided to sit in the sunshine with some friends and talk. Some will leave soon - I am not sure if I want to travel again or not. Love PinkyHH |

Hi friends,
We went to Bad Salzdetfurth today. We met Murph there. First we sat next to the saline and enjoyed the healthy air. Just another view of the salines. We made a group photo on the fountain. Later we sat in the Summstein and had fun! This is a colorful house for doves. They opened a golf-course here – but it was too hot to play it for us. There was a big wheel in the park. It is from the time when Bad Salzdetfurth was a mining town. We went into the town – and found another relict out of this time. Can you find us on this funny guy? Yesterday I was in the Zoo of Hannover – I didn’t have many photos – but I love this one – because of the wonderful color of the birds! Yours PinkyHH |

Hello Mum,
We went to Murph’s home and had a great TV-meeting – starting with a drink! Muggel Rainbow and I shared a chair – this was nice! Look – I had a yummy blue drink! Well – really yummy… I drank a lot of it. Then it was time to complete on of Winter Bear’s life missions. He wanted to meet other travelling TV-bears. There were Maxi and Winter Bear with me. We went out onto the balcony and had fun! It was great sharing some bear-stuff with the others… Then it was time to go into the living-room because Murph and his guests showed us a wonderful cake! We all went nearer! It was so delicious - we had a great party! Later it was time to leave – and we had a big TV-hug! Love PinkyHH |

Hi friends,
We were in another nice city this weekend – called Hildesheim. There were many wonderful old houses. See me in front of one of the nicest I have ever seen. This is the town hall. Then we went to a big church – called St. Michaelis. Can you see us under this statue? It was a little scary to sit there. Many greetings Love PinkyHH |

Hello friends,
I am so happy. My aunt Bine and my uncle Holgi invited me to spend some time with them and Murph. I said goodbye to Dicker Kumpel... ...and my friend NiliHH. Then all TVs here gave me a big hug! HoBi and Murph - I am coming!!! Greetings PinkyHH |
HoBi Posted Jul 30, 2012, 8:57 pm |
Hello Mum,
Here I am – with Murph! I am so happy, it was so hot in my envelope. He is the best friend of Dicker Kumpel! Cool!!! We had a look at the things I brought with me. A postcard and a lot of chocolate. But look what happened to the chocolate. It melted. Murph was so excited. It was time to give his living-room a new look and he will have a new television. The old one wasn’t that nice. There were boxes all over the room Then we had to build up the new cupboard for the television. It was too hot for us TVs, so we searched a nice place and had a look at Holgi and Bine working on it. Almost ready – only the television was missing. Wow, this looked great! I am not sure that we will do more trips in the future, but you will see it. Many greetings PinkyHH |
HoBi Posted Aug 2, 2012, 9:25 pm |
Hello Mum,
A new TV arrived. We helped him out of his envelope, because it was so hot! Aurelius showed the things he brought with him. Can you see how hot it was? The chocolate melted. Murph showed us a wonderful forest. Can you see these fantastic rocks – just like in old Karl-May-movies? At least we found a tent! From this point it looked really small. There was a tower in the forest. But we didn’t climb on it, because it was a little foggy. Unfortunately we were not allowed to go into this herb garden, because it was closed. Then we found a really funny mushroom. It looked like a soccer-ball. And it is yummy. The name is giant puffball. At the end we saw these beautiful cows. Love PinkyHH |

Hello Mum,
Today we visited the Castle Salder in Salzgitter. There was a beautiful lake in front of the Castle. We had fun on this little train. Can you see the man on the roof? Hopefully he won’t fall down. We found a great mill in the garden. Maybe this was Don Quijote? What do you think? This way looked thrilling. Where will it bring us to? Wow – I never saw such a big rhinoceros from the Ice Age. There was a nice cabin for us. We wanted to stay there! You won’t believe, who I met. A big and friendly mammoth. Mabye it is Manni from the movie Ice Age? What an exciting trip! Many greetings PinkyHH |
HoBi Posted Aug 5, 2012, 7:56 pm |
Hello Mum,
We visited a ruin today. This catapult was really huge. There was a big wall around the ruin. This big gate was the only entrance to the Castle. I learnt all about the tower on this sign. There was a nice view from the tower over the ruin. You won’t believe it! The people had a heating in the past. The thing with the holes was the heating. We had a great view from a big wall. What will be there? It was the garden of the Castle. There were many different herbs in the garden. This weekend I will go on holiday with Murph. But up to now I don’t know where we will go to. Many greetings PinkyHH |

Hello Mum,
It was time for a big sight-seeing-tour. Although it was very hot, I want to show you some photos. Do you know this city? Maybe it is easier now? Right – I have been in Dresden. And here are some photos of the ‘Zwinger’. This is a famous Castle in Dresden. The well-known Semperoper! And there were flowers in Dresden! This was the „Stallhof“. Isn’t that a wonderful painting on the wall? But I liked the back side, too. Finally I saw the very famous church: the ‚Frauenkirche‘. Dresden is a very beautiful city. But it was so hot. Hopefully it will cool down soon; we have so many things to do! Tschüssi (all people here are saying this instead of bye) PinkyHH |
HoBi Posted Aug 8, 2012, 8:23 pm |
Hello Mum,
These are photos of the village where we are living at the moment. These are famous rocks! We see them every day. They are called „Schrammsteine“. There is a funny lift in Bad Schandau – its height is 50 meters. We had a stop at this fountain, because it was very hot again. This is the Elbe, a very big river in Germany. Then we went to the „Lichtenhainer Wasserfall“. It is only a small fall, it gets water every 30 minutes. On these two photos you can see the wonderful landscape here. It is called the „Sächsische Schweiz“ (Switzerland of Saxony) and I will show you a lot of more photos of it. Look at the sky – we had to hurry back home. Regards PinkyHH |
HoBi Posted Aug 12, 2012, 7:17 pm |
Hello Mum,
Today we visited a big and famous fortress. The fortress Königstein was built in the Rock. It looks impressive. I was so curious how the fortress looks like. There were many cannons. Look – we tried to use it, but we were too small. We went all around the fortress. This was great – these were the casemates. I definitely wanted to have a photo with the cannon. There were so many of it around. The fortress was really beautiful! This was a funny sign – maybe we will visit the museum in the next days. Love PinkyHH |

Hello Mum,
I found the Paradise for ToyVoyagers! Look! So many things are here! There were Castles and Rocks! And everything is in the right dimension for us! We can fly! These houses were perfect! Maybe we should move into it. We found trains! And enough storage for all our trains! We could use the lift to go onto the rock. Another great house – maybe we should take this? There was enough work to do in this quarry, but we didn’t want to do it. A fountain and a river! I would love to play at this famous rock every day. Can you see it? I decided that this will be the best house for us. I think that I will stay here with my friends. Many greetings PinkyHH |

Hello Mum,
It was an exciting day today. We took a trip by boat. It was a paddle steamer – and it was already 116 years old. Here you can see the paddle of the steamship! It looked great! It was a really nice trip with the boat. We had a wonderful view of the Rocks in the port of Rathen. We definitely wanted to have a photo with this bear. Then we went along this Lake. The rock that you see is called locomotive. Can you see the loco? Then we walked a really famous Path. It is called ‘Schwedenlöcher’ (holes of Sweden): It looked exhausting. So many steps! The way was really narrow. We crossed narrow holes in the rock – and went along nice cliffs. What a wonderful landscape. But to tell the truth – I was so happy that Bine carried me. Many greetings PinkyHH |
HoBi Posted Aug 19, 2012, 1:56 pm |
Hello Mum,
Again we took a nice trip through the wonderful region. We went to the Castle ‚Burg Hohnstein‘. In the Past criminals were bounded with these wooden chains – and then they were pilloried on the market place. This was the viewing tower. We went along this wonderful rock on our way to the „Hinterhermsdorf“ . There was a beautiful retaining lake in Hinterhermsdorf. But can you see it? Stairs again- so many steps!!! But the way was worth it. Look at his wonderful forest. The lake was inside a narrow gorge. Small paths everywhere. And the water was so bright – we were able to see the bottom of the lake. Finally Murph showed me a delicious mushroom. Unfortunately we had no basket with us. yours PinkyHH |
HoBi Posted Aug 24, 2012, 1:13 pm |
Hello Mum,
Today we visited the Castle Pillnitz. A really big garden belongs to the Castle. We found this house there – it was an „Orangery“. Look what I found in front of the house. It was an orange, but unfortunately not mellow yet. This was a very famous tree. It is a japanese chamellia and it is 230 years old. The house behind the tree will protect it from the cold in the wintertime. We saw a nice lake and a wonderful pavilion in the garden. It was a really beautiful castle. From the terrace we saw a paddle steamer on the River Elbe. Many greetings PinkyHH |
HoBi Posted Aug 26, 2012, 4:45 pm |
Hello Mum,
As a last trip in our holiday we climbed up a famous hill. And can you imagine what we saw? Yes, right, stairs again. The rocks here were really impressive. We had to continue our walk. Then we nearly finished it. It was not a long distance to the viewing tower. Have you ever seen a tree, growing on a rock like this one? The last part of our way was narrow again – and had steps… We reached our goal - this is the famous cliff – called Barbarine. After the long walk we took a rest. Later – back on the parking lot we saw the fortress Königstein. I have been there – can you remember it? Unfortunately this was our last trip in the holiday. Tomorrow we will go home. Love PinkyHH |
HoBi Posted Aug 31, 2012, 2:39 pm |
Hello Mum,
Today I went to Lamspringe with Aurelius and Murph. There is a big abbey. The river Lamme starts here - it is a small river – and it flows through Bad Salzdetfurth later in its life. There was a mill in the garden. In the Past they produced flour for the abbey in it. Unfortunately they repair the wheel at the moment. This statue was funny. It is art – what should it be? Many years ago criminals got this ring around their necks and were in the pillory. Then we played hide and seek – and I hide myself. The others had to seek me. My hiding place was very good – can you find me? They found me. On this sign we read a lot about the church of the abbey. It is a really big church in a wonderful park. We wanted to seesaw on the playground – but Murph was too heavy. This was funny! Many greetings PinkyHH |

Hello Mum,
Today I explore Bad Salzdetfurth. Here you can see the emblem. Bad Salzdetfurth is a small town with many old houses. What a wonderful flower - and this great color! Bad Salzdetfurth is an old mining town. There is a museum about mining. There were many old machines. On this sign I learnt a lot about the history of the mining industry. This was an old pit wheel. Bad Salzdetfurth is a really beautiful small city. At home I said goodbye to Aurelius. He continued his travel on the German RR. We had a nice time together. I wish him a safe trip and a great time with Noisy. Until soon PinkyHH |

Hello Mum,
Today we went into the forest only for a short time. It was so sad. We wanted to search king boletes! But there was no rain during the last weeks. It was too dry and too hot! But the berries of the black elder were ripe now. This flower didn’t need so much rain! It was so hot – and we wanted to take a bath in this little lake. But unfortunately the water was dirty. Do you know this plant? It is very poisonous! It is the deadly nightshade. But there are some people who eat these berries. Then they got a jag and do strange things… Don’t be afraid, Mum, I didn’t try it! Please keep your fingers crossed for us - we need rain for the mushrooms! Until soon PinkyHH |
HoBi Posted Sep 19, 2012, 4:58 pm |
Hello Mum,
There must be mushrooms somewhere! And look! Can you see these 3 beautiful birch boletes? We cut them! Then we found more! There were a lot of it! Maybe we will find more? I got one! It is so beautiful! This mushroom must come with us! All the mushrooms were in the baskets. Then we went home – it should be yummy! Finally we found mushrooms – what a great day! Love PinkyHH |

Hello Mum,
Murph told me that we will visit you, Dicker Kumpel and Murph's brother Stoker this weekend. It was so much fun when we arrived. The TVs made a Welcome Greetings for us. Because Stoker is a bat they all hung like him on the chair. We climbed onto the chair and talked to the others. But then Sofia, Murph and I decided to join the fun. We will have a party here – I will tell you more soon. Love PinkyHH |
RikeH Posted Sep 28, 2012, 12:49 pm |
Hello Mum,
Today it was the day of the party. Dicker Kumpel came and invited Dottie Mouse for a party with dotted animals. Unfortunately only Murph and Clairchen had dots and were allowed to join Dottie Mouse. Some other guys with dots came for Dottie. We others were a little sad, because we wanted to have a party, too. We went onto the back of Long Hippo and had a look. Back on our chair Dicker Kumpel had an idea. He found some stickers with dots. I look like a dotted bear now. We were all ready. We went to Dottie and asked her, if we were allowed to join her party. She said yes – and we gave her a Thank-You-hug. Fortunately RikeH had more things to eat, so we all started our party together. Later Dicker Kumpel and Murph had a surprise for us – a wonderful firework. We decided that Murph started it – together with the help of a part of HoBi. If you have a closer look – you can see some blue parts in the air above us. This was fun! Back home on our party-table, we ate the rest of our dinner. Unfortunately we ate everything. Everything was empty – what should we do? Well – I am in the home of Dicker Kumpel – and he knows how to party. We drank a delicious cocktail. It was yummy – Mum. Some hours later – no comment… I loved this party! Yours PinkyHH |
HoBi Posted Sep 29, 2012, 4:02 pm |
Hello Mum,
It was a great party yesterday – today it was time to say goodbye to Murph and Sofia, because they travelled back to Lower Saxony. They got a big hug by us! I had to say goodbye to Murph – he was such a great host and I will miss him. He invited me to spend some more weeks at his home – we asked Dicker Kumpel about it. He said no problem for him – but we should not ask HoBi and RikeH. So Murph, Sofia and Dicker Kumpel helped me into HoBi's baggage. I thanked these three strong TVs! And said goodbye to Dicker Kumpel! Don’t worry Mum, I am safe with Murph! Yours PinkyHH |
HoBi Posted Oct 4, 2012, 5:01 pm |
Hello Mum,
It was Murph’s birthday today. Sofia and I bought everything for the party. Hopefully we will have enough. We decorated the table. Then we called Murph and sang a wonderful song for him. Murph blowed out the candles and we wished him a happy birthday. Murph received a big present from his best friend Dicker Kumpel. What a wonderful card! We bought special drinks for the party. Can you see it? It is the German flag. We drank it out of the bottles. Cheers Murph! It was yummy! What a wonderful party. Love PinkyHH |

Hello Mum,
Today I took a trip to an animal park. At the beginning we saw these birds. These fellow deers ran around the park. It looked so nice. The park gets its name by the wisents: Wisentgehege Unfortunately this eagle cannot fly around. There were many wooden statues in the park. We loved this witch best. The wild boars took a bath. Were they really clean after it? I show you the best photo now. I saw a bear – what a beautiful guy! What a wonderful trip! Mum, imagine that – it started to rain! Hopefully I can search mushrooms with Murph soon! Love PinkyHH |
HoBi Posted Oct 17, 2012, 7:14 pm |
Hello Mum,
Yippee! Finally it rained. We sat at the window and watched the rainfall. We went outside and searched mushrooms. The forest was really wet again! At the beginning we found earth stars. I love these mushrooms. And have a look here! So many mushrooms - sheathed wood tufts. They are very yummy! Murph took a look at every mushroom. The sheathed wood tufts have a poisonous twin. After his control we put the mushrooms into our baskets and went home. It is great that there are mushrooms again. Maybe we will find king boletes next weekend. Until soon PinkyHH |
HoBi Posted Oct 21, 2012, 6:20 pm |
Hello Mum,
Today we absolutely wanted to find king boletes. They should be very yummy. First we found a mushroom – every child knows it. Murph showed us some funny mushrooms. Have a look – don’t they look great. But we didn’t want to touch the verdigris agarics, because they were very slimy on their caps. Then it was the great moment – we found or first two king boletes. Don’t they look yummy? But it would not be enough for us – we needed more. This white saddle is a typical mushroom in autumn. But it is not eatable. Wow!!! Three more king boletes! Can you see me? It was good, that these mushrooms didn’t fit into our baskets. Holgi had to carry our dinner. At the end Murph showed us an aniseed toadstool. It had the smell of Anise. Will it be enough for all of us? We prepared all and then we cooked it. Mum, it was so yummy! I want more of it! We have to search them together, when I will be at home. Yours PinkyHH |

Hello Mum,
The weather was beautiful today, We took a trip. Isn’t this lake wonderful? On our way to another lake we found this funny tree. Can you see what hang on it? Old pacifiers. Children put their pacifiers on the tree when they are too old for it. The weather was so wonderful! The leaves of the trees were so colorful! We didn’t want to go home. Yours PinkyHH |
HoBi Posted Nov 2, 2012, 2:16 pm |
Hello mum,
today Murph showed us his famous gate. It is the entrance to a family park. Isn’t it wonderful and colorful? This boat stood in front of the gate. I absolutely wanted to have a photo with this man. The park belongs to him. There were many funny characters at the gate. Upps, this looked dangerous. But he didn’t hit! This one looked really dangerous, too. I wasn’t able to decide which one of these animals I loved most. The turtle… …or the eel. It looked so funny! Keep your fingers crossed for me. We need good weather for next week, because we want to go into the park then. Many greetings PinkyHH |
HoBi Posted Nov 4, 2012, 1:51 pm |
Hello mum,
today it was very cold, but the weather was really nice. We took a long walk on the Laves-Trail. There was a very big castle and an old teahouse in the forest. Then we went to the famous place of Murph here. Wow – a pyramid – in the middle of Germany. It is a mausoleum. Along our way we saw beautiful fishermen’s houses. This was one of the many fish ponds here. This house is really great, isn’t it? Next to the lake we sat in the sunshine and talked. A wonderful walk! Yours PinkyHH |

Hello Mum,
Can you remember Murph’s famous gate? Today we went into the park! This funny guy stood at the entrance. There were many animals in the park. I especially loved these birds. Wow, what a giant! We really wanted to drive with this vehicle. This mole was funny – and so big! Then we found beautiful houses for us! Which one should we choose for living in? They were all so nice! This was another funny character from the park. Murph was so excited – we met aliens! There was so much to discover in this park. But the right place for us is this couch – isn’t it? What a wonderful day! PinkyHH |

Hello mum,
Today a new guest arrived. We were so curious. It was Hemming. He showed us the beautiful postcard and the sweets he got from olgamaus. Today we searched mushrooms on a big meadow. Actually we found some. These funny small things were mushrooms, too. And these were typical mushrooms for meadows. There were often sheep on the meadow – and we wanted to show them to Hemming. But unfortunately there weren’t any today. Until soon PinkyHH |

Hello mum,
today I was allowed to open a door of the Advent calendar. Murph helped me. I found chocolate – very yummy! Then we went outside. We wanted to find out if we can find mushrooms in the winter time. And we found some. Unfortunately they were not eatable. This small red mushroom grows only in the winter. The scarlett elf cup is very rare. Maybe we will see a bigger one later. We had some snow – but not much. The oyster mushroom is very yummy, but this one was too small. Look – we got more snow! We hardly saw the next mushrooms in the snow. They were trooping funnel mushrooms. Murph told us that you can eat them, but they are not yummy. Murph was right! There are mushrooms in the winter! Yours PinkyHH |

Hello mum,
today is Nikolaus Day : the humans put their cleaned shoes in front of the door the night before – and on the 6th of December the Nikolaus came and put sweets into the shoes – if the humans were well-behaved. Unfortunately I don't have shoes – but we searched big ones from HoBi. No – these were too small. These were better. Unfortunately they were very dirty. We didn’t want to clean the boots. There must be nice big and clean boots somewhere in the flat. These ones were beautiful – we will take them. We put the boot in front of the door and we waited. The Nikolaus had to come! I was the guard. Ah – I heard a noise! Was it the Nikolaus? Wow – the boot was so full! How will we get the sweets? Sofia flew onto the boot. I climbed up the boot. Then we threw the sweets to Murph and Hemming. # Well – this took a long time. It should be faster! Murph had an idea! We overthrew the boot! Done – so many sweets! We must have been very well-behaved TVs. Many greetings PinkyHH |

It was snowing all morning long. This is the spa garden of Bad Salzdetfurth. Can you see how much snow we had? This is our famous place in the spa garden – the Summstein. We never saw it in the snow before. Unfortunately the salines don’t work in the winter time. There were many old timbered houses. You can hardly see them because of the snow. During the Advent season many houses are decorated with these big stars. Beautiful, isn’t it? We got cold – and we went home. We found a nice comfy place and had to dry. Until soon PinkyHH |

Hello friends,
It was Christmas and I went to home Sülfeld to celebrate it with my Mum RikeH, Dicker Kumpel and his guests. First we met Dicker Kumpel and his guests – and we shared our gifts! Great, everyone got chocolate! I received a snowman! Then it was time to talk to Snowy the snowman and Rudi the reindeer. Santa was very busy this Christmas – so he sent his two best friends to us. I started and sung a song. Then I performed a poem. I must have been great – and I received something nice from Snowy and Rudi. It was wonderful. Later I had to say goodbye to Murph, Hemming and Sofia. Murph and I had a great time together. And Thank you HoBi for the nice time with you! I hope that you all had a great Christmas Time, too. Love PinkyHH |

I am so excited! A nice woman invited me to come and visit her. And there is a lovely bunnylady living there, too. I took an envelope… … and decided which card I will take with me. But then Dicker Kumpel told me that I should go to the next host after the weekend. Well – I will wait. Yours PinkyHH |

Hello Mum,
I am soo happy that I have reached Remscheid today Charlotte and Lille welcomed me when they were playing indoor between a huge pink cactus blossom. Both were happily surprised when I jumped out of my travelling-envelope and they gave me such a warm welcome and huged me. I had my first drink, a sparkling mineral water mixed with elderberry-syrup and we ate some yummy sugar-fruit-mashmellows And all enjoyed my sweets You gave me for them, Strunki says many thanks for them and they were sooo happy when they read the nice postcard from Helmut that I took with me. And Lille had a great bed for me in the evening: I had the honour to sleep inside the big pink blossom Can You see me between all this pink leafs?? Love You so much and give You many hugs, see You soon Bye Yours PinkiHH |

Today we had a wonderful day in the garden.
After reading the local newspaper I went in the garden where Lille showed me some locations with flowers and trees, one magnolia and some apple trees. I saw Hosta, dicentra, polygonatum, peony, forget-me-not, columbine, iceland-poppy, comfrey, Strunki gave us some white and blue lilac [Syringa] where we chilled in and enjoyed the wonderful fragrance. And they crafted a flower-collier made of lilac flowers And Charlotte spent us all a bionade that we enjoyed in the sun. In the Afternoon there was another suprise, together with Lille I enjoyed bopping up and down in little cups on the garden-pond. It was sooo chilling, I didn´t want to stop but when the sun went down we had to go to bed. Yours Pinki, love You mum, life is wonderful |

Dear Mum, happy pentecoast
today the weather was almost fine and we decided to visit the botanical garden in Solingen. It is a small but very pretty garden with some iron animal sculptures. Now in the spring season they have a lot of very nice blooming plants. Strunki found an interesting book about old herbs an I read a little bit If You are interested in, I can order one more for You I had a lot of fun in the azalea witch has the same colour as me. Can You find me inbetween? Unfortunately the tropical greenhouses are closed actually but the society of supporters of the botanical garden work for a solution. Every sunday you can get selfbaked cakes and coffee to support the garden Charlottebought a nice bag there where we can travel very vomfortable in Best greetings and love You, Mum Yours PinkiHH |

Hi Mum,
today we went to the netherlands to a little village named Haps after we woke up in the lovely coth-bag. There we had a lot of fun visiting a market for exotic plants and some nice wooden guys for the garden. They remembered me to the guy in our garden I saw in Helmuts travelog Before we went home we enjoyed a typical flamish coffee and had some yummy and funny food called "bitterballen" and "kleene hapjes" Hope You had some nice pentecost-days and love You See You soon, bye Yours PinkiHH |

Hello Mum
today I read the local newspaper and informed myself, what´s going on in the world. Look, the story of Michael from Loennberga written by Astrid Lindgren is 50 years old. After finishing the newspaper we cooked 4 jars of jam made of pieplant (rhubarb) and bananas They have some rhubarb here in the garden and did You know what: Charlotte told me that rhubarb is a vegetable and not a fruit. I was astonished |

In the afternoon the weather was good enough for a short time that we were able to help Charlotte cleaning the windows of her car and having some fun with the vacuum-cleaner.
And can You imagine, mum, she really has her own car, the H in the sign doesn´t mean "historical", because it means "hare-bunny-car", so Charlotte is the only bunny allowed to drive it, she told me |

Hi Mum,
this was a terrible weekend, it rained all day from saturday afternoon to sunday evening so that we were not able to go out. Instead of having fun outdoor we slept the whole sunday and bored ourselves But today in the afternoon the sun came out and strunki decided to finish work early and we went to the botanical garden in Wuppertal where the Elisentower stands. This is an old small tower from where you have a wonderful view about Elberfeld. Unfortenatuly it only opens at the weekend but it was nice to see and inside the garden they have a smaller miniature of it, used as a hostel for insects |

Hello Mum,
today we made a trip to the old town centre of Lennep. Nowadays Lennep belongs to Remscheid but in the older times it was an independent city on its own and even belonged to the Hanse in the late middle-age. We saw some nice old half-timbered houses with black slated fronts and green shutters. And we found nice corners with flowers. Can You see me between the pots? After walking through the old town we visited the Röntgen-Museum. |
Strunki strunki1259@web.de Posted May 31, 2013, 10:27 pm |
There You can see me in front of the German Röntgen-Museum.
The famous physical scientist Wilhelm Conrad Röntgen was born in Lennep in 1845. He discovered (not in Lennep) the X-rays wich are helpful in medicine still today and for their discoverage he became the first physican who was honoured with the Nobel-Price in Physics. The museum shows how he lived and worked and how the early x-ray-radiography-instruments and machines worked. It was very interesting, but sometimes a little bit dark and spooky down in the cellar And even a plushie-bear was x-rayed...Perhaps a toy voyager, too? Love you Mum, see you and give you hugs |

Hi mum,
we are a little bit desperate about this terrible weather. It is June now and it seems to be similar as a day in November: cold, misty and windy Not the right weather to collect fresh strawberry from the fields So we decided to "bake" a blueberry-cake with fresh cream cheese First we wet the gelatine and seperated the blueberry-juice for heating them together. The blueberries we gave on small baked pastry cases. Even the right size for us little ladys, because we don´t want to get too fat After mixing the juice with the gelatine we mixed the cream cheese, and added the clotted cream. Then we poured it on the blueberries and decorated with some fresh ones. The cakes are for tomorrow and have to cool in the fridge, but they look soooo yummy, I hope we are able to wait until sunday Love You Mum Yours PinkyHH |

Later in the afternoon we sat in the garden and enjoeyed the sun....aaand the yummy cake
Look at my yummy cake Charlotte and Lille enjoyed their tea and cake as well I like my tea as well See and love You Mum, hope, You will have better weather in Switzerland |

Hello Mum,
I am soo happy to see You and all tv´s with You have such a good time in Switzerland and much more better weather than we have here in the Bergisch Land. The last days I was very busy with Lille, we play and giggle a lot and we became best friends forever Today we visited the tram Museum in Kohlfurth, that is a nice place at the River Wupper between Wuppertal and Solingen. Look, they have even small trams for small girls like us I like driving into the station And having another round Here together with Lille And here are the bigger trams There were a few more older in the tram-hall I like this old one restored very much Look this old Persil-Advertisment And this is the town-crest of Wuppertal You see the Bergisch Lion, his double tail symbolize the parts Barmen and Elberfeld. He stands on a garnment, because Wuppertal had a huge textile-industry 150 years ago. In his claws he holds the rost of the martyr St. Laurentius. That was our visit at the museum and we changed to the other side Here we went on a little nice bridge over the Wupper Now we are in the part of Solingen-Kohlfurth and had a stop at the "Café Hubraum" |
Strunki strunki1259@web.de Posted Jun 12, 2013, 2:25 pm |
Strunki promised us a much bigger bridge in the near, the railwaybridge of Müngsten. It is the oldest and highest railway brigde in Germany and it´s very huge
Under the bridge, along the Wupper they have created a nice park, but we were too late, the bistro was closed unfortenatuly Here is a miniaturemodel of the landscape where You see how the bridge connects Solingen and Remscheid and connects the two towns above the valley of the Wupper. On the way to the bridge You find iron squares with riddles on. The bridge comes nearer And nearer again, some more riddles Can You solve them? Now we are exactly under the bridge, impressive for me and riddles again That was our trip today See You mum and hug You a lot |
Strunki strunki1259@web.de Posted Jun 12, 2013, 2:32 pm |
Today we visited Wuppertal, here are the first impressions from the south hills on the town in the valley
Together with Lille and Charlotte I enjoyed the landscape There we drove with the suspension railway (Schwebebahn) in Wuppertal. Its is a unique suspension railway and it is almost 100 Years old Here we enter the railway at a station in the historic style Waiting at the station for the next train This is ours, the numbers are from the local radio station "Radio Wuppertal" A first look behind the driver passing the next station Lille and me on the way to Elberfeld Passing the main station in Elberfeld and going on to Sonnborn and Vohwinkel Bayer is large in Wuppertal, here was the first beginning of this huge firm This is the soccer-stadion Here we are in Sonnborn from there the railway drives above the streets Even a highway we cross, it is the A46 in Sonnborn That´s one of the two the ending-stations in Vohwinkel There the trains turn around and drive back to Elberfeld and Barmen. We saw green and old houses along Here is a very old house That is the church of Sonnborn Almost back to the point where we started I liked driving on this crazy railway very much Well, that´s it for today, Mum |
Strunki strunki1259@web.de Posted Jun 15, 2013, 10:34 pm |
Hi Mum,
today we created a so called "fitness-day" O.K., but what can we do on such a fitness-day? Oh Yes, we will start with a work-out So we change our colliers, wear sweat-ribbons and do some pushups, that looks very professional After the pushups we do some situps At least we do the very difficult exercise of an ear-stand and move our legs Woow, what a nice and fine workout But now we are very hungry What should we eat on a fitness-day? Oh Yes, only fresh and healthy stuff, not only the chocolates and sweets we like so much So we decided to fill some fresh sweet bell-paprika with a selfmade fresh-cheese-cream including some bear-garlic First we clean the bell-paprika and cut it Then we mix the fresh-chees wih the bear-garlic-pesto The cream we fill into the bells Here You can see the complete bell filled with the cream But for eating them it was easier to cut them in slices, looks even nicer Wooow, I was quite suprised how tasty such healthy fitness-food can be That was it for tody, mummy, I am glad to hear that You came safe home and enjoyed Your trip to Switzerland very well Give all at home more than a dozen hugs and kisses, I love You |
Strunki strunki1259@web.de Posted Jun 16, 2013, 6:18 pm |
Hi Mummy,
today we went to a strawberry-field and collected sweet tasty and yummy strawberries. That was fun and I was very diligent in finding the biggest ones Look, my first strawberry Here I found some more It was soo funny to fill the basket because while sampling we were allowed to eat as much as we can After filling the baskets we went to the shed where they weigh how much we sampled Of course, Lotte had nothing, because she only snacked the strawberries instead of sampling them Do You see the red traces on her belly? |
Strunki strunki1259@web.de Posted Jun 16, 2013, 8:08 pm |
After picking the strawberries we visited the "Party of Roses" at the Botanical garden in Solingen
A lot of plants are blooming at the moment there But the best blooming plants are the paeonies and some of them have a very nice fragrance Do You find me inbetween, Mum? Look, the wonderful bed I have found for chilling Lotte, of course, was not able to sleep in the paeonies, she is too big and too heavy, but she found a nice potted blossom and she bought it That was a nice sunday here, Love PinkyHH |
Strunki strunki1259@web.de Posted Jun 17, 2013, 3:15 pm |

What could be under the cloth? Together we pull it away What´s that?? Looks like a balloon?? O.K., lets take a seat, hurry up Everybody has his safe seat Aaaand...up and away Look, we drive above the garden pond Wooow, what an amazing view Look, how the flowers look from above And now we want to get higher Uuuuhhh..lets get a little bit lower again That is really near to the bushes Look, the huge red banana leafs The drive goes on And now its time for a landing What a nice and funny trip |
Strunki strunki1259@web.de Posted Jun 18, 2013, 7:37 pm |
Hello Mum,
today we had to say farewell to Lille, she has an invitation to France and the chance to visit Paris We watched pictures from this beautiful town And I had a last suprise for Lille: secretly I crafted together with Lotte a second bracelet for Lille Uhhh, she likes it very much, now she can wear one around her neck and the other around her hair The the moment of saing good bye came nearer and nearer... But we promised each other friendship forever and will hope, that we will meet again someday, somewhere... Lotte huged her and Lille got a few bars of chocolate for her journey Then we helped her in the envelope and waved a last good bye Au revoir, little Lille, we will never forget You |
Strunki strunki1259@web.de Posted Jun 19, 2013, 9:19 pm |

Well, sooo much nice cards, wich should I choose for You? Hey, I wil take this one Charlotte gave me a ballpen and she fixed the postcard so I was able to write a few words for You Well, ready...but now lets find a letterbox There we have one. And even the times, when it will be emptied, are ok So we are just in time and I put it into the letterbox with a big kiss for You on Have fun Mummy |

Puuuhh..today is a very hot day...
Let´s take a sunbath Uhhh...this is almost too hot, but even behind Lotte as a shadowspender it is not cooler But hey, what will in this big envelope be?? We opened it and who was inside? "Hello, I am Oink, ...oink I come frome black forest, look at the house on the postcard...oink Hi, I am PinkyHH and I want to hug You Then Charlotte gave Oink a warm welcome and we saw, how hungry she was So we eat alltogether a yummy icecold mousse au chocolat and Oink got the biggest portion And she finished first What a funny guy |
Strunki strunki1259@web.de Posted Jun 19, 2013, 10:17 pm |
In the late evening we didn´t sleep, because in the warmhouse a "Queen of the night" [Selenicereus grandiflorus] opend her blossom only for a few hours in the night, before it faded
Look, how big the blossom is And do You know the best, Mum?...Sometimes the blossoms have a fragrance like a mixture between chocolate and vanilla Hmm..I like the smell Good night, Mum, tomorrow I have to leave and will travel to another place |
Strunki strunki1259@web.de Posted Jun 19, 2013, 10:26 pm |

Hello friends,
It is St Nicholas' Day today. And because we were so nice and well-behaved, we got some sweets. Then we had a nice surprise for Dicker Kumpel. He loves Christmas so much! So he got an own nativity scene. He was so happy – but I liked it, too, because it had the right size for me. We searched for the three wise men, but they were far away on a hill. It was too early for them to reach the Christmas Crib. Later I went outside into the garden – look, we have snow here. Yours PinkyHH |

Hello friends,
In Germany we celebrate Christmas on the 24th of December. Today it was time to decorate the Christmas tree. Look – we had sunny weather – my Mum RikeH loves sunshine – but told me that we will have problems with some photos because of the light. Look – there is our tree. Here you can see our decoration. We loved these balls. These are the wooden things. Here are the small ones for the upper part of the tree. These are some ornaments RikeH likes very much. And some of these she brought from her journeys, most of it is from Denmark. Witching hour! No – it is not a ghost – it is me. There is still the problem with the sunshine in the living-room. But I wanted to show you a photo of our Christmas tree. This is the decoration I love most! And this is an important part of the Christmas tree – the bird was always in the Christmas tree of RikeH's grandma. And now it has a place of honour in RikeH's tree. I am so excited – tomorrow it is Christmas! Love PinkyHH |

Hello friends,
It is Christmas! And look! A child is born! First Dicker Kumpel read the Nativity Story for all of us. We all sang Christmas Songs – the last one was Silent Night. Eventually the two most important guests arrived. Santa Claus was busy, but he sent his two friends Rudi the reindeer and Snowy the snowman. HolgiHH and I started with a Christmas Poem and sang a song. I am sure they loved it – because we got some chocolate. We all wanted a group photo with Snowy and Rudi. Then Helmutbluepant’s big moment came. He had a lot of gifts for us. I loved the soap. Thanks Helmut, Charlotte and strunki. We all had a great time! Merry Christmas! Love PinkyHH |

It was a great day today! Murph, Soeren, TobiHH and Sean came and visited us. Murph had gifts for us! Yummy chocolate! Christmas is great! We talked the whole day – but then it was time to say goodbye. It was so great to meet the other TVs. We had a big TV-hug. Hopefully I will see the others somewhere again. Love PinkyHH |

Look – the Christmas tree has colored lights today – time for a party! Dicker Kumpel decorated our chair. Then he brought the important things – drinks and food. At midnight we went out to welcome the New Year. As a lucky charm for 2014 I got this funny chocolate chimney sweeper. Happy New Year to all of you! Love PinkyHH |

This weekend is Qingming Festival in China. So We have a short holiday. Qing Ming is a time to remember the dead and the dearly departed. More important, it is a period to honour and to pay respect to one's deceased ancestors and family members. Because it reinforces the ethic of filial piety, Qing Ming is a major Chinese festival. Literally meaning "clear" (Qing) and "bright" (Ming), this Chinese festival falls in early spring, on the 106th day after the winter solstice. It is a "spring" festival. In contrast to the sadness of the tomb sweepers, people also enjoy hope of Spring on this day. The Qingming Festival is a time when the sun shines brightly, the trees and grass become green and nature is again lively. Since ancient times, people have followed the custom of Spring outings. At this time tourists are everywhere. So We went to the park and enjoyed flowers. There flowers are very beautiful My color is of the same color as the pink flower.Mum can you find me The spring outing was interesting. I like spring outing and I want to spring outing again. |

Hi~~
We went to China national grand theatre the opera today. I heard that The National Grand Theater is built in the shape of a shell. The whole building measures 46.68 meters in height and the deepest part built underground measures 32.5 meters in depth. The theater is more than 600 meters in circumference and surrounded by a man-made lake that covers an area of 35, 500 square meters. The opera hall is the most important part inside the theater. It is painted mainly in the color of gold and can seat 2,398 people. Painted in white, the concert hall gives the public an impression that it is an elegant building with a high-class taste. The music hall can seat 2,019 people and will be mainly used for performing symphonies and Chinese folk music. And there is the drama hall for displaying stage plays and dramas. The hall can seat 1,035 people. The National Grand Theater can provide first-class services for artists and musicians. There are five places where artists can have their rehearsals, 32 rooms with musical instruments, and 80 dressing rooms. Many dressing rooms are equipped with a bathroom. The National Grand Theater will become an ideal place for world-renowned artists and art troupes to give their performances. At the same time, China will also try to introduce its local music to the world at the country's grandest music building. We looked at today's opera is 《The Lady of the Camellias》 is a French tragic play based on Alexandre Dumas (the younger) 1848 novel by the same name, (it is sometimes referred to as "Camille"). The play was adapted for the theater by Dumas in 1852 and then for the opera by the composer Verdi's 'La Traviata' in 1853. The play became a favorite of audiences in the late 19th century. This is a tragic love story. The opera is very moving. I think that opera is particularly enjoyable. In the evening I to play in the drive.I like to drive a car I'mbile.com. Papa said I'm so cool |

Hi~Mum
We attended a Chinese wedding. The bride is PAPA's good friend. We had arrived in hotel with bride the night before. We had a last bachelor party with bride and all the girls in the evening. I only had try a little Breezer. That's sweet .We played many game then we went to bed late. Early in the morning we went to the bride's room to close the door. The bride is very beautiful. She hugged us and take picture and Every girl took our for picture,Do you know which one is PAPA? The room is full of red,PAPA said,The Chinese regard the color red as the symbol of happiness, success, luck, faith and growth. They like red very much, which comes from worship of the Sun. In traditional Chinese weddings, there are double Xi characters in red, red scarves, red flowers and the bride wears a red coat. I don't know why close the door,PAPA tell me The firends of bride will not allow the bridegroom with his friends to come in early unties he agrees some terms Generally, the bridegroom will give a red paper containing money. The bride bed stood a red dates(early), peanuts(give birth), longans(Precious), melon seeds(children),The meaning is evident in the Chinese pronunciation of these four foods. When they are said together, it sounds like "Have a baby soon." In traditional Chinese wedding,it is ceremony before the daughter leaves her parents to show the departure. After saying goodbye to the bride's parents, the bride should get into a sedan chair and there will be some happy music .then these people will escort the bride to the groom. They sang as they walked so busy. The bride can't remove the cap on her head's red handkerchief after go out. We have also come to the wedding Hotel PAPA said In Chinese usually wedding is Relatives and friends are invited to the feast to eat and drink to the happiness of the bride and bridegroom. There are more than 200 people attended the wedding.the happiness candy and happiness smoke on the table.I ate the sugar is sweet! The Red wine is a special custom,Printed with the bride and groom's wedding The wedding started,On the stage,we can see the man seated in the left side is bridegroom's father, and the other side is his mother, and this is bride, this is bridegroom. The man who officiate the wedding like the priest in foreign. I heard,In china ,this part calls" baitang". taht is in the traditional wedding ceremony, bride and bridegroom perform the marriage ceremony in which they pay homage to heaven and earth and to the groom's parents. The wedding is China dishes, very delicious After the wedding we went to bridal chamber. The new bed is red very beautiful. I think Chinese wedding is so interesting! Then Papa said In china Most of the young people will choose western style wedding,Wedding in the church, but she's friend think Chinese wedding more funny! I wish the newlyweds happiness~~~ |

Dear mum,
our first stop on our luxurious train-journey to Rome was Munich. A nice town if you asked me. Suddenly somebody said: "Look, the Peter's place! We've arrived Rome!" But unfortunately in Munich there's such a place as well The Peter's church has got a tower that you're allowed to climb up and of course we did. Great view! After a while we entered the next train, the night train to Rome! The sleeping car invited us to play a bit before having a night meal and then sleeping. Good night, when we'll awake we'll be in Italy Yours PinkyHH |
mcdaniels Posted May 18, 2014, 6:51 pm |
Dear mum,
when we wake up in the early morning we looked out of the window immediately for getting a first impression of Italy... In Rome we were very happy to arrive our nice little holiday flat near the Vaticanian wall. After a short time we walked to the city for the first time and were very impressed with the Engelsburg (castle of angels), the Engelsbrücke, the bridge across the river Tiber, the famous Piazza Navona and the very very old Pantheon. Back home we needed some chocolate and felt into bed. That was our first day in the great town Rome. Yours PinkyHH |
mcdaniels Posted May 19, 2014, 7:26 pm |
Dear mummy,
today we visited the cathedral St. Peter for the first time. Wow! It looked very great and the place with it's fountains as well. After these impressions we needed a refreshment: Ice cream in Rome! It was so yummy...you can't imagine! Unfortunately it was so warm outside that hostmum took a photo of Mefito only cause it was his life mission. But there'll be another chance of taking an ice-photo I'm sure. Then we visited the famous Trevi fountain. You have to throw a coin over your shoulder into the fountain, that brings luck and let you come back to Rome some time. In the course of a year there are thousands of Euros, Dollars etc. on the ground of the fountain which are for a good cause. Back home we sat on the steps in front of our house. The small street is only for pedestrians, very good! That's it for today, good night, yours PinkyHH |
mcdaniels Posted May 19, 2014, 8:51 pm |
This morning we studied the map of Rome and tried to decide what to visit today. After three hours we reached an Agreement but before starting we needed a refreshment...tea and cookies
Then we started to the church St. Giovanni in Laterano with it's very nice inner courtyard. On our way to the famous Colosseum we saw Oranges! The Colosseum was very impressive just as the Forum Romanum we visited next. Back home we had no questions any more... Yours PinkyHH |

Dear mum,
today we walked through Rome for visiting the very famous Spanish stairs. Our way leeded us through the via delle Conziliazione and through typical narrow streets. The Spanish steps looked great but there were so many people that you couldn't see much of it. In the afternoon we went to the basilica St. Peter for entering the tower. Wow! What a sight!!! After this long day we were very happy but tired and glad to be back in our street Cliva delle muro Vaticano. Yours PinkyHH |

Today we visited the famous park Villa Borghese, a large recreation area in the middle of this big city. At the weekend the park is full of Roman families but on Monday it was really empty.
Next to the entrance there was a nice fountain. In the park there was a lake with little rowing boats and of course we rowed Look at the turtels in the background! After rowing we discovered a nice bike but unfortunately hostparents wanted to walk through the park. We saw many old trees, a fountain and we met Goethe We visited a nice garden, a Sphinx and a sculpture of a very sweet boy...I don't know why our boys were enthusiastic about the other sculpture... On the way back home we saw a typical 'refreshment-car'. Good night! |

Then *Nick* started to search...and after a long time he found one after the other apart from Frederik. Dear mum,
today we visited a friend of hostmum who lives in the middle of a forest only a few kilometres from hostmum's home. It was a nice walk and when we arrived I got to know some chicken and nice little cats Yours PinkyHH |

Hello friends,
I went to a nice German Island. Today we went to a place called Seezeichenhafen. When I looked to Wittdün – I saw a ferry. The Seefohrerhus is full of colors – and there were some sea marks in front of it. In the small port are some ships. We had low tide at this moment. I learnt a lot about the tides here. It was a nice day on Amrum. Yours PinkyHH |

Hello friends,
Together with my brothers and sisters I am on a Cruise Ship. And what are you doing on a Ship? Yes, relaxing. But what is more important – we wanted to have a party! We knew, where the good drinks were! There! But they were high above us, what shall we do? Good news – HelgaHH can fly, so she flew to the drinks… …threw it to us and jumped back to us. We brought it back to our place and everybody chose his or her famous drink. Look, what I chose. And I took some delicious chocolate! Well – it was fun – I shouldn’t say more. Yours PinkyHH |

Hello friends,
Have a guess, where I was? We drove along the promenade. Then we arrived at a museum village. People lived in huts like this in the Past. It didn’t look better from outside. This was an old mosque. I had a nice view of the city from the beach. This is the sheik. Look, a mall, we should go into it. We went into an restaurant with a great view and ate something delicious. Then we met a mammoth. I had a photo with the funny girls. The mall looked beautiful. Then we went to the new big mosque, on our way we saw some skyscraper. This was the beautiful mosque. What a nice day. Yours PinkyHH |

Hello friends,
I have been in Norway. We had a wonderful holiday home – with great views and a lot of snow! My siblings and I enjoyed the sunshine. One day we went to another Fjord today – the way to it was beautiful. What a wonderful place. Behind the curve was the Grotfjord. A really nice place! Back home we sat at the fireplace! Hello friends,
In the afternoon we celebrated Dicker Kumpel’s birthday. We wished him a happy birthday and sang a song for him. He loved the couch that Murph gave him as a birthday present. We played soccer, because it was EM! Then we went on the swings… …and into the sandbox. I had a great place next to Krystal. Then we sat in the sunshine and talked a lot. Oups, nobody should see this – we took some drinks with us. Cheers! Yours PinkyHH |

Hello friends,
Today we were in France. We will take a boat trip, but first we went on a mountain near to Cassis and had a great view. We want to go there – can you see the small boats? We will take on of it! This looked great! And we were really high – you can see it here. Then we were in Cassis. I liked the colorful houses. The fortress is a very expensive hotel now. Let’s start – we had the best place on the boat. We went to the Calanques – beautiful bays. There were many of it – we went to the first 3 of it. Many small boats were here. The landscape was so beautiful! There were many tourist boats here, but there was enough place for all of us. This was our last bay – really nice. Then we went back to the city. Yours PinkyHH |

Hello friends,
I am in Australia with my Mum and my sibblings. It was Stoker’s birthday today. Murph stayed at home this day – and prepared everything for Stoker’s birthday party. Al least he told, that he did it… When Stoker and the others came back, there were two couches waiting for them and us – and we talked a lot. Then we went to the nicest views with our flying couches. When it was getting dark, we went to the fireplace. The evening ended with a yummy bottle Bundaberg, the famous Tim Tam cakes and surely chips. Yours PinkyHH |

Hi friends,
It was time for a Cruise – well – this boat looked small. It didn’t matter, we wanted to cruise on the Donnelly River. This boat looked good – and I saw the Captain. We drove from the Karri-Forests to the Ocean. Surely I had the best place on the boat. The trip was relaxing! When we went near to the ocean, we saw some small hills. 0 This looked exciting. What will be behind the curve? The rock looked great! There was the beach – and behind it the sea. This was the way we came. The beach looked so beautiful. Behind me you can see the river. The boat waited for us. The beach was great – and there were only 4 other passengers from the boat here with us. Then we had to go back on the boat. We had tea and fantastic muffins. On the way back we saw this small cottages. I really enjoyed the trip! You can see where we went today. At ‘you are here’ was the start and end – and we went to the ocean. Yours PinkyHH |

Hello friends,
Great news - I will travel again. I said goodbye here... ...now I am on my way to emjay. Love PinkyHH |
Emjay Posted May 21, 2017, 11:55 am |
Hi dear mum and other readers!
I arrived safely in Delft. When I crawled outof the envelope, I was greeted by a group of friendly TV's. The orange bear is called Hollandia and she is the Official ToyVoyager Hostess. Impressive! |
Emjay Posted May 21, 2017, 11:58 am |
I ventured into Emjay's garden and found some flowers with a nice pink colour. Emjay even has a fig tree. Last year she got over 70 figs! But it seems the tree has a sabbatical now. |
Emjay Posted May 21, 2017, 11:59 am |
This is a perfect ToyVoyager chair! |
Emjay Posted May 21, 2017, 12:09 pm |
Emjay gets out her collection of honey. The French word of honey is "miel", but I already knew that. I'm sitting on a pot of "appelhoning". That's "apple honey" in Dutch. So now I learned a new word for honey: honing. |
Emjay Posted May 28, 2017, 9:15 am |
Hi mum!
What a beautiful weather we're having here in Delft! Hollandia took me to the city center and we walked around to look at some wonderful historic buildings. But first we're having a cool drink. |
Emjay Posted May 28, 2017, 9:16 am |
Immediately I spotted some pink flowers. |
Emjay Posted May 28, 2017, 9:18 am |
Here are the towers of the New Church (Nieuwe Kerk) and the Mary of Jesse Church (Maria van Jesse kerk) |
Emjay Posted May 28, 2017, 9:19 am |
The Mary of Jesse Church is the home of The Smiling Madonna. She looks lovely. |
Emjay Posted May 28, 2017, 9:21 am |
Here are the New Church and Maria of Jesse Church from another angle. We're at the huge Market Place now. |
Emjay Posted May 28, 2017, 9:22 am |
This is the lovely town hall. People from all over the Netherlands come here to get married. I can understand why. |
Emjay Posted May 28, 2017, 9:24 am |
We waited for the van to move, but it didn't. Anyway, here are some other nice buildings. The big one is the former corn exchange, the one at the corner is the fish market and in the background you can see the Old Church (Oude Kerk). |
Emjay Posted May 28, 2017, 9:25 am |
This lamppost represents something Delft is famous for: Delft Blue pottery. |
Emjay Posted May 28, 2017, 9:27 am |
We're at the Prinsenhof, the Prince's Court. Prince William of Orange used to live here in the 16th century and he was murdered here by a gunshot |
Emjay Posted May 28, 2017, 9:28 am |
Just to show you I'm really in Delft! This is the town's Embassy. |
Emjay Posted May 28, 2017, 9:29 am |
This is Emjay's workplace. Not bad, huh? It's the former orphanage for girls. |
Emjay Posted May 28, 2017, 9:30 am |
Some nice flowers again and the Old Church in the background. |
Emjay Posted May 28, 2017, 9:31 am |
I spy in my little eye... |
Emjay Posted May 28, 2017, 9:34 am |
... another interesting building. This used to be the powder house, where gunpowder was stored. A big part of the facade is painted white, to keep the powder cool. Otherwise it would explode spontaneous ! Luckily that never happened. In later years it became the Army Museum. Nowadays it is an office complex. |
Emjay Posted May 28, 2017, 9:40 am |
Another sunny day and we're walking through the neigbourhood park. |
Emjay Posted May 28, 2017, 9:41 am |
This has something to do with the geographical location of Delft. Maybe it's the meridian? |
Emjay Posted May 28, 2017, 9:44 am |
We're almost at the other end of the park. |
Emjay Posted May 28, 2017, 9:45 am |
Taking a rest in this nice seat. |
Emjay Posted May 28, 2017, 9:47 am |
A ten minute walk from the park and we're in the neighbouring village Den Hoorn. |
Emjay Posted May 28, 2017, 9:50 am |
The charming catholic church of Den Hoorn. It has a very old icon. |
Emjay Posted May 28, 2017, 9:53 am |
On our way home we saw some nice pink flowers and yellow flowers. |
Emjay Posted Jul 9, 2017, 2:52 pm |
You may wonder at which tropical island I may be... |
Emjay Posted Jul 9, 2017, 2:54 pm |
In fact I am in Scheveningen (try to pronounce it! ), near The Hague. We thought the weather would be nice, but it's a bit chilly. |
Emjay Posted Jul 9, 2017, 2:56 pm |
I think you won't forget my name now |
Emjay Posted Jul 9, 2017, 2:57 pm |
A few yards away from the beach I found these little people. And some huge people as well! |
Emjay Posted Jul 9, 2017, 2:59 pm |
This little guy is setting the giant free. It's a gentle giant, so don't worry. |
Emjay Posted Jul 9, 2017, 3:01 pm |
Some interesting sculptures of "Beelden aan zee" and me. |
Emjay Posted Jul 9, 2017, 3:02 pm |
This is Hansje Brinker, who put his thumb in the dike and prevented the Netherlands from flooding. So the story goes... |
Emjay Posted Jul 9, 2017, 3:03 pm |
This guy is about to eat a raw fish. One of the strange customs of Dutch people. |
Emjay Posted Jul 9, 2017, 3:05 pm |
A Zen moment. |
Emjay Posted Jul 9, 2017, 3:07 pm |
I guess this guy is having a bad day. But I had a nice day in Scheveningen. I even found a pink-coloured flower. |
Emjay Posted Jul 9, 2017, 3:14 pm |
Emjay is envolved in a theatre festival called Delft Fringe Festival. it takes place at serveral locations in the city center. Emjay couldn't take pictures of the performances. But here's a picture of one of the locations: a pink (!) church. |
Emjay Posted Jul 9, 2017, 3:15 pm |
As we move from one performance to the other, we pass this beautiful gate, called "Oostpoort". It used to be one of four gates, surrounding Delft. |
Emjay Posted Jul 9, 2017, 3:15 pm |
As we move from one performance to the other, we pass this beautiful gate, called "Oostpoort". It used to be one of four gates, surrounding Delft. |
Emjay Posted Jul 9, 2017, 3:18 pm |
Emjay had to be at a meeting from work in a beautiful setting: Fort Wierickerschans. Here's the entrance of the fortress. |
Emjay Posted Jul 9, 2017, 3:19 pm |
I feel like I'm Queen of the castle now! |
Emjay Posted Jul 9, 2017, 3:21 pm |
The fortress and the surroundings at the Wiericke river. |
Emjay Posted Jul 9, 2017, 3:25 pm |
Emjay plays a small role in an open air production of "Midsummernight's Dream". It's set in a beautiful park. |
Emjay Posted Jul 9, 2017, 3:28 pm |
A water pipe? Well, what can I say? It's a modern adeption |
Emjay Posted Jul 9, 2017, 3:29 pm |
This is where the spectators will sit. |
Emjay Posted Jul 9, 2017, 3:31 pm |
These are the beautiful masks that will be used by two of the players. I think it will be a great performance! Break a leg, Emjay! |
Emjay Posted Jul 9, 2017, 3:35 pm |
After a succesful run of "Midsummernight's Dream" it's back to the office for Emjay. Remember I showed you the outside of Emjay's work place? This is the inside. Emjay's work has a lot to do with preserving nature and rare birds. |
Emjay Posted Jul 9, 2017, 3:40 pm |
The office is a former orphanage for girls with a lot of historic features. In the hall way you see the girl's uniforms on mannequins. And in the conference room is a huge painting of the Old Church. In fact you can see the Old Church from one of the office windows. |
Emjay Posted Jul 9, 2017, 3:44 pm |
Here I am in sunny Rotterdam! |
Emjay Posted Jul 9, 2017, 3:45 pm |
These are the famous cubical houses. People actually live in them! Part of the complex is used as a hostel. |
Emjay Posted Jul 9, 2017, 3:47 pm |
This is the recently build market hall. And the busy Saturday market around it. |
Emjay Posted Jul 9, 2017, 3:49 pm |
Because Rotterdam was heavily bombarded during WWII, it has a lot of modern architecture. With a view of the Rotterdam sky line I say goodbye for now. Bye, mum! |
Emjay Posted Aug 7, 2017, 12:51 pm |
Hi mum and other readers! Here I am again, reporting from Delft! We had a lovely walk through the neighbourhood. This quarter of Delft is called Buitenhof. It has a lot of small parks. |
Emjay Posted Aug 7, 2017, 12:53 pm |
We picked brambelberries along the way. |
Emjay Posted Aug 7, 2017, 12:55 pm |
After our walk I sat down on this bench. The words mean: sit for a while, phew!, gosh, cozy And behind me it says: Buitenhof Association of Undertakings. |
Emjay Posted Aug 7, 2017, 1:02 pm |
We're having dinner at the city center. The weather is lovely, so we eat "all fresco". I have a nice bowl of tomato soup and a veggie burger. |
Emjay Posted Aug 7, 2017, 1:04 pm |
After dinner we walk to the Oostpoort (East gate). This used to be one of four gates, surrounding Delft to protect the city. |
Emjay Posted Aug 7, 2017, 1:21 pm |
It's a sunny day, just the right day to be watching the Floating Flower Show in Den Hoorn! |
Emjay Posted Oct 22, 2017, 11:04 am |
Here are some pictures of a short outing to The Hague. Allthough it seemed like I was on Easter Island at first! |
Emjay Posted Oct 22, 2017, 11:10 am |
The symbol for The Hague is a flying kite. |
Emjay Posted Oct 22, 2017, 11:14 am |
We are at city hall and we stumble upon this exhibition of miniature The Hague. |
Emjay Posted Oct 22, 2017, 11:15 am |
A posh department store, called "Beehive" (Bijenkorf) |
Emjay Posted Oct 22, 2017, 11:18 am |
This charming church is called New Church. |
Emjay Posted Oct 22, 2017, 11:20 am |
Buildings in the style of painter Piet Mondriaan |
Emjay Posted Oct 22, 2017, 11:23 am |
Modern architecture and rain clouds. It's time to go home. |
Emjay Posted Oct 22, 2017, 11:37 am |
We're back in The Hague. This time at the beach. I'm looking at the "Strandbeesten" (Beach Beasts) constructed by artist Theo Janssen. They can move by themselves, driven by windpower. |
Emjay Posted Oct 22, 2017, 11:38 am |
Awsome clouds today! |
Emjay Posted Oct 22, 2017, 11:56 am |
Hi dear mum! It's been a while, but finally I have time to update my travel journey. I spend an evening in the city center, at the theatre where Emjay is rehearsing a play. On our way home we walked through Delft by night. |
Emjay Posted Oct 22, 2017, 12:04 pm |
We're on our way to a small art exhibition and we pass this charming house. It's at the entrance of a cemetery. |
Emjay Posted Oct 22, 2017, 12:07 pm |
And this is the exhibition. It's a construction made of coloured sugar. Sweet! |
Emjay Posted Dec 29, 2017, 11:08 am |
Let me show you Emjay's new workplace. Remember her former office? Well, this one is a bit different. |
Emjay Posted Dec 29, 2017, 11:11 am |
At least there's a nice park in front of the office, so we can make a short walk during lunch break. |
Emjay Posted Dec 29, 2017, 11:26 am |
Emjay takes me to see a play in a small, cozy theatre in The Hague. Afterwards we walk through a posh neighbourhood with stately homes, a few embassies and another theatre. I pose with the statue of Louis Couperus, a wellknown writer from The Hague. |
Emjay Posted Dec 29, 2017, 11:48 am |
Emjay's celebrated her birthday enjoying a concert with famous trompet player Erik Vloeimans. It was a bit difficult to take pictures at the theatre, but at least you have an impression. It was a great performance! |
Emjay Posted Dec 29, 2017, 11:55 am |
I'm at Prinsenhof, a historic spot in Delft. The statue is of Willem van Oranje, who lived in Delft in the 16th century. He is an ancestor of Willem Alexander, king of the Netherlands. |
Emjay Posted Dec 29, 2017, 12:01 pm |
Wow, it snowed today! |
Emjay Posted Dec 29, 2017, 12:07 pm |
Merry Christmas to you all! I'm at the seaside, enjoying the view from the Zuiderstrand Theatre. We're about to watch the Nutcracker ballet. A nice way to spend Christmas day. |
Emjay Posted Dec 29, 2017, 12:16 pm |
We're spending a night in the Hague in a luxurious hotel. When we arrived we had stormy weather. But by the time we went to the theatre to see a play called "De Revisor" the rain stopped. We had great seats at the beautiful, old theatre. |
Emjay Posted Dec 29, 2017, 12:21 pm |
The next day: the Hague is coming to life. I'm overlooking the buildingsite of a new theatre, the Nieuwe Kerk (New Church) and the Town Hall. |
Emjay Posted Dec 29, 2017, 12:25 pm |
I'm celebrating the holiday season at Emjay's nicely decorated home, listening to great music. I hope you have a great holiday season as well! Enjoy some quality time with the ones you love. I send you my warm wishes, mum! Miss you! x |
Emjay Posted Apr 1, 2018, 8:55 am |
Oh, mum! I'm so ashamed, that I haven't posted for so long! Last time I wrote you it was still 2017!
Anyway, here are some new pictures. Finally! I was in Zaandam to see a musical. It is about the life of Annie M.G. Schmidt, a Dutch writer of children's books, songs, poems and musicals. She had an extraordinary life. We were not alowed to take pictures during the show. But it was great! Here we are at the entrance of the theatre. |
Emjay Posted Apr 1, 2018, 8:58 am |
I've heard Zaandam is a pretty town. We only saw a glimse of it from the theatre's foyer. |
Emjay Posted Apr 1, 2018, 9:00 am |
Looks a bit like home, with this beautiful Delft Blue tableau! |
Emjay Posted Apr 1, 2018, 9:04 am |
Happy Easter, mum! |
Emjay Posted May 14, 2018, 8:21 am |
Hi mum! It's King's Day. King Willem Alexander celebrates his birthday. All around the country there are festivals, flee markets, fairgrounds and other festive activities. But first we eat a 'oranje tompoes'. An orange cake, because orange is the Netherland's national colour. |
Emjay Posted May 14, 2018, 8:23 am |
We head into the city center. Next to the station there's a tulip field with two gigant cups and saucers in it. What a beautiful colours! |
Emjay Posted May 14, 2018, 8:26 am |
Along the canals there's a flee market. Notice how a lot of people are dressed in orange for the occasion! Everyone is looking for a bargain or... is selling his old junk. |
Emjay Posted May 14, 2018, 8:27 am |
At the fairground |
Emjay Posted May 14, 2018, 8:28 am |
And now for some peace and quiet: a nice lookthrough to the New Church. |
Emjay Posted May 14, 2018, 8:32 am |
If you thought the tulip field in Delft was big, think again! Here we are at Keukenhof, the biggest tulip garden in the world! Amazing! |
Emjay Posted May 14, 2018, 8:43 am |
Not only tulips but fragant corcusses and pink rhododendrons as well! What a lovely day. |
Emjay Posted May 21, 2018, 6:36 am |
I'm making a sentimental journey through Delft. Because… I decided to leave. I'm going to Italy! This is a part of Delft I haven't seen very often. It's along the Kanaal (Channel). The first picture is the familiar Oostpoort (East Gate). The second shows me with the Rietveld Toren (Rietveld Tower) with the New Church behind it and the third is a nice shot of the Kanaal with beautiful trees. |
Emjay Posted May 27, 2018, 8:27 am |
I'm enjoying my last days in the Netherlands. Here I am at the house of Emjay's mum. As you can see, she loves bears! |
Emjay Posted May 27, 2018, 8:38 am |
I took a trip to nearby Maassluis, a nice, quiet village. |
Emjay Posted May 27, 2018, 8:44 am |
And this is 'sentimental journey' part 2! I'm at the couryard of Prinsenhof, the former residence of Willem van Oranje, an ancestor of the nowadays King Willem Alexander. |
Emjay Posted May 27, 2018, 8:46 am |
Before I leave, I take a relaxing bath. |
Emjay Posted May 27, 2018, 8:47 am |
I sleep in my cosy bed for the last time, before I take off to Italy. |
Emjay Posted May 27, 2018, 8:49 am |
Well, I guess this is goodbye, Delft. I'm feeling a little sad but also excited to start a new adventure!
For the last time, love from Delft dear mum! Yours, Pinky |
Emjay Posted Jun 12, 2018, 11:23 am |
I'm sharing my last photo's from Delft. I take my souvenir from Keukenhof with me. I'm saying goodbye to my fellow-TV's. We're having some Dutch candy and I'm taking some with me aswell. And then I get in my ultra hip envelope. I'm on my way! |
