It is Christmas Eve and I got a gift from Christchild!
I was very excited and unwrapped it at once and ... tattaaaaa: my own and original ToyVoyagers Travel Tag! And a little castle to craft. |

My mom has got a nice, very old crib;
We started a puzzle that shows a historical wolrd map. It has 204 pieces and is only 15 x 10 cm , so it is the right measurefor us TVs. |
Noisy Posted Jan 7, 2012, 3:54 pm |
Look, we got our own advent-calender! Each day one of us TVs is allowed to open ONE packet with all the sweets in it!
They are soooo yummie... The sweets on the plate should be for the TVs we are waiting for, but I tried to borrow one more for myself ;-) But Noisy looked and scold with me. And the other advent-calender belongs to Noisy. |
Noisy Posted Jan 7, 2012, 4:05 pm |
Today my mom got a load of big couverts from the postwomen.
I was very nerveous, because I'm waiting for Herlinde! I was very sad, because there was no Herlinde in it. In one of it was Taru. The other packets were full of gifts from Dr.Kröbner and to Sookie. I really like your Christmas-gifts for my mom! But I couldn't be happy... But look yourself: |

Mom read us the fairytale "Sterntaler"
There was once upon a time a little girl whose father and mother were dead, and she was so poor that she no longer had a room to live in, or bed to sleep in, and at last she had nothing else but the clothes she was wearing and a little bit of bread in her hand which some charitable soul had given her. She was good and pious, however. And as she was thus forsaken by all the world, she went forth into the open country, trusting in the good God. Then a poor man met her, who said, "Ah, give me something to eat, I am so hungry." She handed him the whole of her piece of bread, and said, "May God bless you," and went onwards. Then came a child who moaned and said, "My head is so cold, give me something to cover it with." So she took off her hood and gave it to him. And when she had walked a little farther, she met another child who had no jacket and was frozen with cold. Then she gave it her own, and a little farther on one begged for a frock, and she gave away that also. At length she got into a forest and it had already become dark, and there came yet another child, and asked for a shirt, and the good little girl thought to herself, "It is a dark night and no one sees you, you can very well give your shirt away," and took it off, and gave away that also. And as she so stood, and had not one single thing left, suddenly some stars from heaven fell down, and they were nothing else but hard smooth pieces of money, and although she had just given her shirt away, she had a new one which was of the very finest linen. Then she put the money into it, and was rich all the days of her life. ...and we made many stars out of paper. |

Today my mom got a postcard from Tiplitaps
She showed it to us TVs and we should think about where she could put all the nice postcards. Maybe we will put them to a pinwall? Thats not so nice So we decided to hang them to a line near our bed |

Hi mum... Today I took a look at the calendar and saw that in a week is Valentine's Day ... And I can't be with my love... Herlinde, I miss you! At least I can see you on the computer ... I have an idea! I'm writing a Valentine's Day-Card to Ireland! My host mum found for me a red card, Luv, pens, glue and scissors. And off you go! Well? What do you think about my Valentine's Day-Card for Herlinde? Now I feel better! Bye, Leopoldi For all lovers here the poem (by an unknown person): Love is the greatest feeling, Love is like a play, Love is what I feel for you, Each and every day, Love is like a smile, Love is like a song, Love is a great emotion, That keeps us going strong, I love you with my heart, My body and my soul, I love the way I keep loving, Like a love I can't control, So remember when your eyes meet mine, I love you with all my heart, And I have poured my entire soul into you, Right from the very start. |

Hello mummy!
This morning it was very cold again! And what you need when it's so cold? Exactly! Slightly sweet! We bake a cake, an Orange-Eggnog-Cake. For this we broke butter. Sugar and then .... eggs. Stir all. Flour and .... Baking powder. Stir again. There is rum and .... orangejuice into it. Put the mixture into a mold and bake. In the meantime, we make the filling. We need milk, eggnog and... Vanilla puddingpowder. Mix everything. And put it in the micowave. We see whether the cake is ready. He is finished! Now the cake has to cool down. In the meantime, we rub off the peel of one unwaxed orange and ... cut them into pieces. When the cake is cold we can cut him. Now half of the cream on the cake and ... give the orange pieces on it. Another half on it and ... give the rest of the cream on the cake. Decorate with the grated orange peel and grate dark chocolate on the cake. Done! Now for a few hours in the refrigerator. The eggnog is empty ... hicks! Herlinde - I miss you... Yummy! Now we have so much energy from the delicious cake that we go a round ice-skating. This is fun! Love and kisses, Leopoldi |

The historical part of Bamberg has even become a UNESCO World Heritage Site! This is the "Old Town Hall". The river is called Regnitz. These houses are gorgeous! This is the cathedral. Here I'm on the highest mountain of Bamberg. The castle is called "Altenburg". A view over Bamberg. Let me out! I'm a good guy! A view over the Steigerwald. My Chinese farewell dinner. Yummy! Hi Mummy,
I arrived at my new host's home today. It's cold here, only 6°C. I was welcomed by my host Katja and several Toyvoyagers: Schnatterchen, Pelly, Tucker and Virgo. My new friends told me about Remscheid .... Remscheid?! Isn't this the hometown of my beloved Herlinde??!! Today I am too tired to think about that. Bye Leopoldi |

Hi Mummy,
today my host took me to her workplace in a law firm. The weather is simply horrible - sunshine, hailstorm, rain ... all at once. So working seemed to be a good idea I helped Katja to file the incoming mail. Later, when we went home, we found an envelope on the stairs with someone crawling inside. What a surprise - another dragon is visiting us! It is Rishu. I asked my host if we could go outside for a little walk, but the weather was inpredictable. So I had a look around. Bye for now Leopoldi |
olgamaus Posted May 17, 2012, 5:49 pm |
Hi Mummy,
today we had fantastic weather, so we took a walk in the outskirts of Remscheid. We started in the district Lennep, one of the historic parts of the city. Soon we left the city area and walked through rural areas. We reached an upstream temporary dam, it belongs to Wupper dam. We followed a path along a now closed railway track. This is the old railway building. We walked through an old worker's housing estate. They once belonged to a cloth mill. We found lots of blooming trees and bushes, like this hawthorn. We enjoyed the warm sunshine We also took a walk in the city centre of Lennep. Here you can find an historic city core, most houses were built in late 18th century after a great fire. You can find typical "Bergische Häuser" here - mostly half-timbered houses and houses which are covered with slate, with characteristic green shutters. This is "Klosterkirche", a former church of an abbey. Nowadays it is a cultural centre and a lovely restaurant. This was a lovely trip, but there is still no trace of Herlinde! Bye Leopoldi |
olgamaus Posted May 24, 2012, 1:10 pm |
Hi Mummy,
we visited an exhibtion for "garden and living" today in the neighbour city Solingen. It was taking place in the palace garden of Schloss Gruenewald. You could see the most interesting things around gardening. Flowers of course, decorating items, barbeques, all sorts of fire places, exclusive furniture for balcony and patio, also handmade jewelry, intesting food, spices, cheese, handmade clothings .... There was also a bird of prey demonstration. This is a garden decoration with coloured glass. Here you can see "Schloss Gruenewald", completely different from what I know as a castle. This guy was looking sort of grumpily. Those branches with leaves made of glass were at least 2,5 m tall. We bought marine salt from Camargue with herbs and a piece of honey soap. On our way back to the car we came across this rape field. The wooden boxes behind me were bee homes (that's where rapeseed honey is made ). Bye Leopoldi |
olgamaus Posted May 24, 2012, 1:26 pm |
Hi Mummy,
in Katja's lunch break we took a walk around the city centre. Let me show you the water tower first. The city centre of Remscheid is situated on a hill, the water tower was built at the highest point of that hill. Its tower and the nearby tower of the city hall are visible from the surrounding cities. Here you can see the company bulding of the local newspaper, Remscheider General-Anzeiger. This is the central bus station. The shopping street with the pedestrian area is beginning here. A farmers market is taking place here twice a week, on Tuesday and Friday. We walked along the shopping street ... ... and soon we reached the shopping mall, Allee-Center. Those giant forceps are marking the beginning of the shopping street. They are symbol for the worldwide well known tool producing industry. This is the city hall, its tower is 48 m tall. When we walked towards our home Katja showed us a part of the city with more quite surroundings. From here we only had to walk a few minutes to get home. Bye Leopoldi |

Hi Mummy,
today Virgo and I helped our host Katja to make a rhubarb cake. Yesterday, when Katja took a walk she picked some rhubarb in a friend's garden. Yesterday in the eveining she already cooked delicious jam with rhubarb and bananas. For the cake we needed rhubarb of course , butter, sugar, vanilla sugar, flour, baking soda and eggs. We cut the rhubarb into pieces while Katja prepared the cake dough. She put the dough onto baking tray and added the rhubarb. While the cake was in the oven for about 25 minutes we prepared the meringue topping: beaten egg white and sugar. The meringue had to be spread on the cake. Another 15 minutes in the oven and the cake was ready. Bye Leopoldi |

Hi Mummy,
we took a walk in one of the oldest districts of Remscheid today, in Hasten, close to a large woodland area. You can find lots of traditional old houses here, also this church, embedded in a large garden. You won't believe it, but we found a long lost ToyVoyager, Mini-Woof. In winter he was a bit too curious, taking an excursion on his own. Finally he found back to his host! We walked downhill towards Morsbach valley. I liked this house. Katja told me that houses like this were probably built in late 18th century. I heard someone calling "Leeeeoooooopoldiiiiii!!!" ???? "Hi, I'm heeeeeere!!!" Herlinde! She is also taking excurses on her own, but in opposition to Mini-Woof she is at home here and knows the city. I am so happy that finally I found Herlinde. Later, walking through the forest, we found rocks with engraved poems. We also met a flock of sheep, waiting for their sheep-shearing. What a lovely tiny house! It would be perfect for me and Herlinde to raise a family. Another half-timbered house is restored at the moment. Here in the valley you can find a lot of historic industrial sites. Along Morsbach valley industrialization began in middle ages. From here we had to walk uphill for eternity (only 45 minutes like Katja told me). Bye Leopoldi |
olgamaus Posted Jun 3, 2012, 11:24 am |
Hi Mummy,
today I took another long walk with Katja and her brother-in-law, this time in a valley in the South of Remscheid. Herlinde decided to stay at home, she was a bit lazy today. On the parking lot we saw an historic car. After climbing out of a valley (like ALWAYs) we reached a point with a great overview to the city centre of Remscheid. Katja told me that we just climbed out of a valley to walk down to the next one. The topographical situation of Remscheid is sort of crazy There are fish ponds in the valley. Along this path you can find the remains of some historic industrial sites, partly only some walls. Some of them are older than 400 years! The sun was narly going down when we went back to the car. In the background you can see one of the churches in the city centre, high above on its hill. Like often here, you can find dwellings and factories close together. Bye Leopoldi |

Hi Mummy,
a new guest arrived today, Alberto from Spain. We helped Katja to prepare elderflower wine cooler. This really sounds weird ... There were already lots of elderflowers. Katja showed us the ingredients we would need to prepare the wine cooler: elcerflowers, sugar, lemons, mint and water. The lemons hat to be pressed, sugar and water were added, mint and elderflower were put into the liquid. The mixture was covered with a plate, now it has to rest for 24 hours at room temperature. Love Leopoldi |
olgamaus Posted Jun 3, 2012, 11:42 am |
Hi Mummy,
today we finished the elderbloom wine cooler. Katja' knitting friends would come in the evening, for knitting and enjoying the wine cooler. Our mixture with blooms, lemon, mint and sugar was strained and poured into a special pot. A bottle of each white wine and sparkling wine was added. Cheers! Leopoldi |
olgamaus Posted Jun 23, 2012, 10:40 am |
Hi Mummy,
after having ugly rainy weather the whole week we took an excursion today. We visited Germany's highest railway bridge, Muengsten Bridge, connecting Remscheid and the neighbour city Solingen. This bridge is overspanning the valley of river Wupper. A smaller creek is running into river Wupper here. We found information signs on the path. Herlinde came with me, we had a lot of fun together. We found a "puddle oracle" ... I asked the oracle if my love to Herlinde would come to an happy end. Unfortunately the oracle was in a bad mood and did not answer. From an outlook pavilion we took a first look at the bridge. Muengsten Bridge is about 107 m high and about 490 m long. It was built in late 19th century, finished in 1897. Following our walking path, we reached a place exactly under the bridge. It was made of steel with two tracks. We reached river Wupper than, running through the lovely landscape. Our path led us through the forest, always close to river Wupper. There are rocks with engraved board games along the path, we rested on this Nine Men's Morris- board. We found more information boards, this one is showing a map with hiking trails in this area. We walked uphill and downhill along the steep slope of the valley. A little creek is flowing down the slope, also crossing the walking path. We reached Muengsten bridge than, on the Solingen side this time. This is river Wupper under the bridge. A leisure park was built under the bridge some years ago. They have a crazy golf course, lawns for relaxing, playgrounds for the kids, restaurants and you can also play in the usually shallow river. This restaurant was opened about two years ago. To get back to the car we had to walk under a road bridge. Bye Leopoldi |
olgamaus Posted Jun 23, 2012, 3:07 pm |
Hi Mummy,
today we a trip to the neighbour city Wuppetal. Herlinde did not come with us, what a pity! One of the city’s greatest attractions is the suspended monorail (Schwebebahn), which was established in 1901. The tracks are 8 m above the streets and 12 m above the Wupper River. Here you can see one of 20 stations along the 13,3 km long route. This is one of the stations. Here you can see the historic city hall of Wuppertal. There is a daily farmers market in front of it. We were really hungry than and went looking for pizza or anything else to eat. Bye Leopoldi |
olgamaus Posted Jun 27, 2012, 2:32 pm |
Hi Mummy,
after finishing breakfast we took a walk in the forest. We started our trip in a rural district in the West of the municipal area, we took our new guest Bzzzzz with us. We walked in the valley along river Wupper. You could cross it here. I have been here with Herlinde last week. We saw foxglove in the forest, lovely flowers, but extremely poisonous. We took a group photo on this cartwheel. We reached the historical district Unterburg in the neighbour city Solingen. This church was built in late 17th century. This creek is flowing into river Wupper here. This statue is showing a "Kiepenkerl", hard working men who carried all sorts of goods through the rangy landscape in their panniers. Have a look at this beautiful house! We still followed river Wupper until we reached this bridge. We crossed the river here and walked back on the other bank. In the meantime a medieval castle came into sight, Schloss Burg. Unfortunatelay we did not come close enough for a better photo. Our path led us uphill for some time, in the valley you can see Unterburg. Here we saw more lovely houses with narrow lanes. It started to rain than, so we all disappeared into Katja's bag while she and her friend became wet, we still had to walk back to the car for an hour Bye Leopoldi |

]Hi Mummy,
today we started to paint the walls in Katja's new apartement. After protecting the edge of the ceiling and the washboards we started to paint her favourite colour in the bedroom. We even managed to paint the wall without getting terribly dirty That's all for today, a load of work was waiting for us! Bye Leopoldi |

Hi Mummy,
because it is time to leave I had to talk to Herlinde. When we took a walk I asked her if she would marry me. In case she should say "yes" I bought a heart charm for her. And indeed, she said "yes". We are so happy - we are engaged now Now I am ready to leave, I am sure Herlinde will wait for me until we will be able to marry. Bye Leopoldi |

Hello Mum,
Today I arrived in Sülfeld. Dicker Kumpel laughed when he saw me. He told me that he had a surprise for me. I got something around my head – so I could not see anything. I heard some voices around me. I was so excited! Then the others were quiet. I thought that someone sat in front of me. Look! Dicker Kumpel told me that the other dragon in front of me was Druri. And he had the wish to meet me. We talked a lot – it is funny to be with someone like me. Yours Leopoldi |

Hi mum,
On my way back home I stopped over at ScillyHH who tok me to the Hamburg harbour. See me in front of the "Landungsbrücken" where the boat trips starts. Then we went to Övelgönne with its museum harbour. This boat is an old ice breaker. This is an old tug. This is an old harbour ferry. Today it is a museum café. I especially like this old sailing boat. Look, what a nice frame house. It is a restaurant. But it is not the best photograph of me Because of the weather we went to the beach on the river Elbe. See me enjoying the day on the beach with this fantastic harbour view. All the very best Leopoldi |
