Hi! Today I had a wonderful day! My host father is a truck driver and we were allowed to ride! We drive with this truck. In the back we take an excavator. Here he comes ... ... will that work well? Puh, it's done! The stairs are very high... But together we can make it! The steering wheel is big! Here we go! We invite especially humus. It takes ... We are a little boring ... We play hide! I seek. 1,2, 3... I'm coming! Has someone here hiding? I found Tobbi! And here? I found Khaled. Since the front, the pilgrimage church "Maria Limbach". Can you see the ship on the Main? We drive through Haßfurt. Left you see the "Ritterkapelle" (Knights' Chapel). Now we take the highway A70 direction Schweinfurt. Now we are in Schweinfurt "Maintal." The arch is part of the old city wall. We're going to Kitzingen. Along the way we past vineyards. Have you ever seen such a small tractor? It is made of vinesyards. Do you see the four towers? This is the Abbey "Münsterschwarzach". Now we are in Kitzingen. Outside of Kitzingen is our last stop. We unload excavators, wheel loaders and humus. We enjoy the beautiful spring weather. We can even drive an excavator! I'm getting tired ... I want to go home. Here in Gerolzhofen we buy a snack. Finally we are back home. It was a lot of fun! After this adventure we need something sweet ! Best regards, Philly |

The festival is every year in August and you have to wait about 10 years for a ticket! This is really long ! This is the festival hall. The flowers in front are very nice. This is the building of a health insurance company. I find the figures funny! On the way home we're stop short in Bamberg. This is the cathedral. This is called "Little Venice". It looks beautiful! I wish I could shown you more photos, but there were so many people and cars there, it hasn't been fun ... My hosts have promised that we go to Bamberg again. Take care! Philly |

Hi mum,
Yesterday we made a trip to Fritzlar. Fritzlar is a small German town (pop. 15,000) in the Schwalm-Eder district in northern Hesse, 160 km (99 mi) north of Frankfurt, with a storied history. It can reasonably be argued that the town is the site where the Christianization of northern Germany (north and east of the Roman Limes) began and the birthplace of the German empire as a political entity. The town has a medieval center ringed by a wall with numerous watch towers. Thirty-eight meters (125 ft) high, the Grauer Turm ("Grey Tower") is the highest remaining urban defense tower in Germany nice little streets In this small street behind the wall are very old houses, this house called ..Curia, they were designated as the home of a Säkularkanonikers, a canon or a canoness, mainly for individual buildings are representative district in immunity to the church... a great view of the Cathedral from the other side... The St. Peter's Cathedral is one of the most beautiful Romanesque-Gothic churches in Hesse. Three-aisled basilica The Cathedral of Fritzlar measures 43 meters (from the basement to the top). He continues to shape the cityscape of the small town in the Schwalm-Eder-Kreis (formerly Circle Fritzlar-Homberg). The three-aisled basilica in Fritzlar is considered one of the most beautiful in Germany. statue "Maid of Fatima" a nice view to the Ursuline Convent Fritzlar The city hall, first documented in 1109, is the oldest in Germany still in use for its original purpose The town hall is decorated with a stone relief from the 1441 Holy St. Martin, the patron saint of Fritzlar. hostmum found this informationboard and I try to hit the road... a little break by the "Malerwinkel"..sorry no english word Finally, I've looked to the town...sorry I´m blurry next stop Kassel hostmum must play with her Sambagroup on the river Fulda and I have a look to the Orangerie is a Orangery in Kassel. It was built under Landgrave Charles between 1703 and 1711. Since then, it forms the northern corner of the Karlsaue park. Today it is used as an astronomy and physical cabinet. that was a nice trip.. hugs and kisses Philly |

Hello Mummy
this weekend was very interesting for me, I learnd a lot of new things by build a iluminated well in the garden At first Hostpa drilled a hole in a huge stone, That was a dirty and loud procedure, so I don´t take part. The next step was to assemble all the equipment we need to build a Transformator and made it suitable for the LED´s at the water outlet. we have to measure sometime to get the correct result. to install the Pump,we made a very tall hole in the ground for the Waterreservoir, and at least we had to supply the pump with electrical power!. This was a real exhausting work. It is not easy for a smal TV to manage a spade even if we where in pairs!!! We had to place a underground cable the triple of my body height unter the sward! But we realy execute it. It was a hard and sweatly work. Hostpa fixed all other nessesary electrical supplies and after the spring works we had a small opening ceremony with Dr: Kröbner and the other TV´s. Love from Philly |

Hello mummy,
something amazing has happened, I was able to assist during a surgery, *coco* the little monkey without leg was operated by Dr.Kröbner, but step by step the great day….. *coco* got under the knife…. After the anaethesist Günther ( a TV from hostmum)arrived from Lichtenfels/Bavaria, *coco* get her new High-Tec-Leg. The operating theatre was blocked for 4 hours, the assistence-doctors B.o.B., myself and Mr. Lemony gave their best. Dr. Kröbner was the chief-operateur and Mr. Shaun was supervising the starmash out of his deckchair he get from the Queen Mary with professional comments (his arguments: I get the most experience of life on my selfmade trip from the USA back to Delligsen) At first Günther anaestheized *coco* slowly with his old bottle of pur Jamaica rum (73%) and his sedative voice, myself and little bunny kept the prostheses ready while Dr. Kröbner first assembled it with the foot and after he checked the direction, he fixed both parts at *coco*s body. that was to much for a little squirrel Three hours and one and a half gallon later the operation has found a happy end *cocos was placed in her bedside and after she recover from anaesthesia the whole operating-team made the first visite. Get well soon *coco*! I´m sooo proud to be part of this event Love and kisses Philly |

I saw a lot of different numberplates from Europe at the cars and many crazy boats and peoples. That was to thrilling for me and I persuade Hostmum to go downtown Berlin. After riding by bus and train I could show hostmum my town the river Spree the fantastic view from the top of the TV tower the Reichstag building Brandenburg gate Hotel Adlon I met Klaus Wowereit Mayor of Berlin Angela Merkel..I think she was in good humor Joseph Beuys (May 12, 1921 – January 23, 1986) was a German Fluxus, Happening and performance artist as well as a sculptor, installation artist, graphic artist, art theorist and pedagogue of art. my new car.. Hello Mummy,
On sunday .... we made a trip to a stretch of water, called Steinhuder Meer. The Steinhuder Meer or Lake Steinhude is a lake in Lower Saxony, Germany located 30 kilometres northwest of Hanover. It is named after the nearby village of Steinhude. It has an area of about 30 square kilometres , making it the largest lake of northwestern Germany, but it is very shallow, with an average depth of only 1.35 metres and a maximum depth of less than 3 metres . It lies within a region known as the Hanoverian Moor Geest. Enough facts As hostmum told about a boattour, we TVs packed the luggage also the rubberboat “Gummischnulli”. When we arrived at the shore, the sea was very rough in occasion of a strong wind. Hostmum forbid us to set sail, because we forget our lifebelts at home. At the end of a long discussion we agree to look out for a bay where the water is calm. So we could set sail close to the shore and B.o.B., *coco* and I made a short Boattrip. Even though the water was tolerably smooth, I nearly went seasick….. it was a interesting new experience Love Philly |

Last weekend I visited a nice castle ,the Garvensburg. The castle was built in 1894-1898 by industrialist William Garvens, who was knighted in 1908 and afterwards called William of Garvens. He built a hunting lodge in the style of the late period, a castle-like villa, surrounded by an English garden, currently there is an exhibition of sculptures of an African artist Love Philly |

Otsuka Museum of Art
The world's first collection of Ceramic-Board Reproduction of Masterpaintings. Now I'm not in the Sistine Chapel, Rome. I'm really in Japan The room is an authentic-looking reproductions of the Sistine Chapel's art works. This is one of the exhibits in this museum. These are not original paintings. They are ceramic works using a special manufacturing technique. Visitors can see over 1000 full-size ceramic reproductions of major works of art. The works are transfer-printed from photographs before being fired and retouched. Of course I enjoyed reproductions of great paintings in the modern ages. |

Yashima Shrine
This shrine was built in 1651 by Matsudaira Yorishige, the first Feudal Load of Takamatsu. It is the place where to worship his grandfather Tokugawa Ieyasu, the founder and first shogun of the Tokugawa shogunate. When we visit the shrine, first we wash hands. An old tap is often decorated everywhere in the world. In Japan lots of shrine and temples have "Doragons" like this. Then I went up to the long steps of stone and looked back... wow! |

Today we leave Shanghai to Xitang.
It takes about 90 minutes to drive down to Xitang from Shanghai; from a 21st-century megalopolis to an altogether dreamier slice of history. To call this lovely water-village an oriental Venice would be wildly over the mark, yet it shares similarities with its more famous Italian counterpart.Canals dissect twisting narrow lanes and pathways, rendering the community traffic-free and boat friendly. Worn stone steps lead down to the waters and hopelessly pretty bridges span them. Even though the place is small, it's chock-full with museums, temples and places of historic and cultural interest. Night we live in the town,Here during the day and night is not the same. In the morning, water flows beneath bridges, thin mist is like silk, pinkish walls on both banks stand tall and erect and tiled houses are reflected inversely in the water. In the evening, the setting sun shines slantwise, songs come from fishing boats, lamps flicker and the fragrance of wine drifts. The whole old town is like a poem and a picture. In this town, people will feel that they are seemingly in an earthly paradise. Even though Xitang is small, it's something of a centre for the arts. In summer, traditional folk operas, concerts and a local cinema play by the waterside in the open-air. And all year-round, young artists from the cities come to paint the alleyways and canals. It is an exquisitely beautiful spot. |

We leaved Xitang to Wuzhen. We arrived WUzhen one hour by car.Wuzhen is also a old town,There are like with Xitang, but not the same. Situated in the north of Zhejiang Province, the beautiful water town of Wuzhen is one of those ancient towns. It is a charming place full of ancient bridges, traditional hotels, boutiques and restaurants all built around an amazing water network that is part of the Beijing-Hangzhou Canal, the longest canal in the world.Over the past thousand years, Wuzhen has not changed its name, water system, or way of life. It is a living museum for an ancient civilization's history, food, and traditions. The buildings of Wuzhen are all a century or more old and built using traditional wood and stone architecture with tile roofs. For centuries the local people of this area have been building their homes and markets along the river's edge. Spacious, beautiful courtyards are hidden by the thousands in between the buildings, providing a delightful discovery at almost every turn. In this ancient town there is plenty to do, or nothing at all if your aim is to relax. The place is quiet, yet also offers wine bars, pottery and glass workshops, theaters, and an open-air film pavilion.Take in the delightful town from the water on a traditional wood boat, and stay in one of the many luxurious hotels or guest accommodations in residents' homes for a true taste of Chinese village life. |
papa_always Posted May 19, 2015, 11:02 am |
Today we are still in Wuzhen.Wuzhen is fall into two towns, east town and wes town. One of them is a new town, one is the old town.Today we went to the old town,East town.
Here to keep the ancient town of the original appearance. The wine brewing industry is prosperous in Wuzhen. In the Ming Dynasty, there were over 20 brewing workshops in Wuzhen, and the three most famous ones were Gaogongsheng, Shunxing and Yong Sheng Workshops. The Woodcarving Museum, formerly the residence of local rich people Xu Family, also named Hundred Flower Hall, is well-known for its exquisite wood carvings. It’s carved beams and painted rafters, especially the human figures, birds and four-feet animals on the doors and windows by various carving skills. Here the road is very narrow,I think it is very interesting.Next we are going to Hangzhou. |

We came to Hangzhou. Hangzhou is one of the most famous tourist cities in China, not only famous for its natural beauty, but also famous for its history. .Legend has it that the lake used to be an aus'picious pearl hewn into its sparkling shape by the Jade Dragon and the Golden Phoenix ,but it was later stolen by the Mother Queen of the West. When Jade Dragon and Golden Phoenix scrambled with the Mother Queen, this pearl acci'dentally fell onto a land that was known as Hangzhou. It means just as there is paradise in heaven, there are Suzhou and Hangzhou on earth. Lying on the west edge of Hangzhou city, West Lake is the symbol of Hangzhou as well as one of the most beautiful sights in China. West Lake has all along been praised as a sparkling pearl.the whole lake is divided into 5 sections, namely the Outer Lake, North Inner Lake, West Inner lake, Yue Lake and Little South Lake, by Gu hill, Sudi Causeway, Baiti Causeway and Ruangong Mound. And the beauty of the West Lake lies in its lingering charm that survives the change of seasons in a year and of hours in a day. Among its beautiful sights, the most famous sites are the Ten Sights in West Lake . We board and enjoy the beautiful scenery. The placid lake reflected the image of the trees. The breeze is on my face and body.I feel so good. We also went to the Lingyin Temple. It's sacred and quiet . This is a nice place. |

We're going to the white sand beach in the sun today. White Beach, Boracay's biggest tourist attraction, stretches some four kilometers on the western side of the island, mostly within the barangay of Balabag. It is largely because of the pristine, white powdery sand of White Beach and the crystal-clear blue water of the surrounding sea that Boracay is often called "the world's most beautiful tropical island." The northern end of the beach is "lorded over" by Fridays, the southern end by Lorenzo South. In between you will find all kinds of accommodation, from native bamboo-and-nipa bungalows to Western-style concrete buildings. The most famous view of Boracay is the sunset. We sat on a sailing boat to see the sunset. But I can't take a picture. The sailing is too exciting. I was wet all over. We'll play on this again tomorrow. |

We're still at the beach today.
I really like the sea. Seeing it makes me relaxed and peaceful. My home is near the sea and I love walking on the beach. After sunset, the sea becomes so different from daytime. The sea breeze makes me comfortable. Walking without shoes feels great, because the sand is so soft. Sometimes, we will play games on the beach or make some sand sculptures. It's really funny. |

Today we went to the Olympic Park.
Due to the stadium's outward appearance, it was nicknamed "The Bird's Nest". It looks like a bird's nest woven with branches. It contains a bowl-shaped stadium which is red. The whole building is related through the giant reticular structure, without one column in the interior. It has been a landmark and a longstanding symbol of the Olympics. During the Beijing 2008 Olympic Games, the opening ceremony, closing ceremony, track and field meets, and men's football final will be held here. It is the world's largest steel structure and the most complex stadium ever constructed. Its design had to be inspiring and be able to withstand an earthquake. After the Beijing 2008 Olympic Games, the stadium will become a sports and entertainment facility for the residents of Beijing. The Beijing National Aquatics Center, also officially known as the National Aquatics Center, and colloquially known as the Water Cube,is an aquatics center that was built alongside Beijing National Stadium in the Olympic Green for the swimming competitions of the 2008 Summer Olympics Despite its nickname, the building is not an actual cube, but a cuboid (a rectangular box). is a shape very similar to the structure of "H2O", In the evening it will make a colorful light, Much better than the day. PAPA said she had the chance to bring us here again at night. |

We wen to the Jingshan Park, an former imperial garden!
The mount was named the Hill of 10,000 Years and became an imperial garden to the north of the imperial Palace. The name of "Jingshan" was given in 1655 during the Qing Dynasty. In 1751 five pavilions were built on the hill in a straight line. Wanchun Pavilion in the middle is on the central axis of the old Beijing city. So This is the center of Beijing. We From there one has a grand view of the former Imperial Palace. We passed the the Imperial Palace. This is one of the most famous scenic spots in Beijing. The tourist bus is very lovely. We took a video on it. PAPA was thinking about putting the video about us on website, Such as YouTube. And I'm looking forward to seeing myself. |

It's snowing in Beijing. The first snows of winter ! The weather is very cold. We go to the park to see the snow. The lake has begun to freeze.
In the lake opposite the tower is the CCTV Tower. This is a sign of modern architectural function, They can launch 8 sets and 10 sets of radio and television. The snow was banked up along the roadside. But So much snow has already melted away. We can snowmen and throw the snowballs. |
