FINALLY!!

I can't believe that I'm in Berlin now, it is soo cool B). When I arrived at my host Marie's home, I heard her speaking in an unfamiliar language. She said "Schön, dass du da bist". I was a bit confused but then I knew: It's German! Of course I understood nothing and I told Marie so. Now we speak English with each other :). Later she told me that the German thing meant "Nice to have you here". She wants me to say "thank you" to you, Mummy, for the nice gifts :).
Then Marie showed me her flat. I had a look at her two cute guinea pigs (QuamQuam -> brown; Klea -> black), an old telephone, a sweet toy cat, her guitar, a cool poster and I played the drums :D. Later I enjoyed the view from the window. Oh, and I met another toyvoyager. His name is Tiplitaps. He is very friendly and I think we will become friends fast :D.
I wonder what I will experience here...

Hi Mum,
today Marie showed Tiplitaps and me the place where she lives. We saw her house (she lives on the tenth floor) and the area round her house, especially a big meadow in front of it. The grass there is soooo soft :). The best thing was the little playground, we had much fun there :D.

We visited a petting zoo today! Oh, it was great there :D. We saw some sheep and goats. Right in the middle of the petting zoo there was a mill. It is very old but it's still working. The miller still produces flour there.
There was also another playground. I had much fun riding the sheep :).
I hope your day was as nice as mine, Mummy.

Hello my dear Mum,
it was so hot today B). So we went to the "Wukensee" in Biesenthal to go swimming. It was really nice there. The lake looked beautiful and the water was warm. When I wanted to relax at the beach, a duck visited me and asked me for food but I didn't have anything for it . On our way back we explored the area a bit.

Puh, after 5 hours travelling by "S-Bahn" and train we were finally there: In Binz on Rügen. The first thing I wanted was to see the Baltic Sea, of course. At once we all went to the beach and there it was. Oh Mummy, it is sooo beautiful!! :D There is so much water everywhere and you can look so far, I was impressed.

You'll hear from me soon

Hi Mum,
today we went along the seafront to the center of Binz. From there we had a wonderful view at the Sea. We passed souvenir shops and came to some nice fountains and a great climbing tree :D. The day was really fine although the weather wasn't... I hope it will be better the next days.

Hello Mummy,
we saw many sculptures today. But not ordinary ones, sculptures made of sand! They were really beautiful and showed scenes from fairy tales. For example "The star-money" or "Puss in Boots". Do you know them all?

To relax we went to the hotel swimming pool because it was too cold to swim in the Baltic Sea.

Heyho Mum,
we visited the Butterfly Park in Sassnitz today. It was not really a park but a kind of tropical area with many butterflies and beautiful plants inside, as you can see. As we watched a few butterflies one of them landed on Marie! :D She didn't have the time to hold us into the camera but you can see Tiplitaps and me inside her bag :). It was a wonderful day and I'll never forget it.

We spent a nice time there although the zoo was quite small. But even in the smallest zoo you can see animals :). I loooved the little rabbit, you too?

Today we went to Putbus by the Rushing Roland, a locomotive. The landscape we saw was beautiful. Marie said that we'll see something we have never seen before.
Mum, have you ever seen a house that stands upside down? I have now, and it looks strange :stare:. We found it so cool that we had to go inside. And guess what: The rooms were also upside down! Impressive, huh? It's really worth a visit :).
From the top of the house you had a wonderful view.

Hi Mummy,
so this is our last day here at the Baltic Sea :(. I enjoyed the time here very much. Because the weather was fantastic, we spent the day at the beach to say "Goodbye" to the Sea. Tiplitaps and I made a little sandcastle and a sand elephant with the help of Marie's sister. We even swam! :D But not long because the water was still very cold.
As we walked along the beach we saw seagulls and beach chairs.
The next update will be in Berlin again.

Oh Mummy, we saw soooo many sights today! Marie started with us at the "Weltzeituhr" (world clock). As the name already says, it shows the time around the world. It is also a famous meeting point. We went on to the "Fernsehturm" (television tower). With its 365 meters it is the second highest television tower although I can't imagine that there is something higher than this :stare:.
Anyway, the next sight we saw was the "Marienkirche" (Church of Our Lady). It is one of the oldest churches in Berlin. Right next to it was the "Neptunbrunnen" (Neptune Fountain). It looked very impressive. If we turned around we could see the "Rotes Rathaus" (Red Townhall).
The "Berliner Dom" (Berlin Dome) and the "Spree" right opposite to it also looked beautiful.
The last and the coolest sight we saw was the "Brandenburger Tor" (Brandenburg Gate). It marks the border between east- and west Berlin.
I love to learn new things. That's what toyvoyagers is all about, or not? :D

LIGHT, CAMERA, ACTION!
We spent a great day at the Filmpark in Babelsberg. There were many things to see. At first we went to a restaurant which looked very medieval. We could even sit on a throne! Then we had a look at a cowboy town and watched a stunt show. We also visited "Panama", a place which is described in a children's book by Janosch. It was so nice there :). Now I know why the tiger and the bear in this book wanted to find this place ;). Overall in the Filmpark there were statues of filmscenes. We saw the for example "Münchhausen". You can read something about him on the last picture.
I love you, Mummy.

Hello Mum,
today Stoker, _Mishuta_ and I visited the zoo in Leipzig. After one and a half our by train we finally arrived at the central railway station. From there we took the tram to the zoo.
It was much bigger than the one in Sassnitz. We saw different animals like monkeys, zebras, meerkats, turtles, elephants and many more as you can see. We also visited "Gondwanaland", a big Tropical Hall. Inside I felt like I was in a real rainforest! Doesn't it look great?

Today is our last day together because tomorrow Mishuta and I will travel to our next hosts. So we made a little farewell dinner: "Crostini"- slices of baguette with tomatoes, balsamic vinegar, basil and olive oil. At first we cut the baguette. Then we cut the tomatoes and mixed them with the other ingredients. When we were ready we put the mixture on the baguette slices. The dinner was sooo good :D.

Hi Mommy!

I arrived safe at my new hosts.
At first I was a bit scared and didn´t came out of my parcel because I heard many voices outside. But then I took a look outside and got a very warm and friendly welcome from 5 other Toyvoyagers. Their names are Vanilla, Landroval, Tiger Lilly, DuDette and B.o.B.

Hey Mommy!

Today we made a trip to Cologne. We started at the train station in Euskirchen and from there we went to Cologne central station.
The Cologne Cathedral was the first I saw when we came out of the train station and it is very impressing! It´s so big and looks fantastic.
I also met a very nice street artist.
After some shopping we took a rest at Pizza Hut and ate a delicious pizza with loads of cheese! *yummy*
Then we went back home. It was a lot of fun.

Hi Mummy!

We visited the Hardtburg. That´s an ancient castle that belongs to Stotzheim. It´s placed in the middle of the Hardtwald, that is the forest belonging to Stotzheim. Most of the castle are ruins now but they are very interesting and it is allowed to walk all around the castle and even to climb the tower. But that is only allowed in autumn and winter because birds breed there. We had luck and the tower was open. We had an impressing view and in the distance we could even see Euskirchen!
It was a wonderful evening. :D

Hey there!

We made Rievkooche! That are potato pancakes. The usual name in german is Reibekuchen but in the dialect spoken in the Rhineland they are called Rievkooche.  :D
We nedded potatoes, onion, oat flakes, eggs, salt and pepper.
First we raspeled the potatoes and the onion. Then we mixed them with the other ingredients.
We preheated the frying pan and filled it with oil.
Then we started baking. The smell was delicious!  :p
When the Rievkooche were ready baked we put them on a plate with kitchen roll to soak up some of the fat.
We ate them with the traditional side dishes. Bread and apple puree.
That was so yummy!

Hello Mommy!

We visited Bochum. That´s a city in the Ruhr Valley and is one of the biggest cities in germany. Once  it was a very important city for mining but that was a long time ago.
We went there to visit the christmas market and we met two prominent policemen. Their names are Toto & Harry. For several years they were accompanied by a camera while on patrol and the TV show was very popular. Today they use their prominence to collect donations for a children hospice.
