Mummy is doing this jigsaw puzzle.
She isn't quite finished yet... Luc Zeke is leaving today. For travel, he's popped back into his egg. ... |

Mummy and us welcomed a new toyvoyager to stay.
His name is KalliHH |
miapearl Posted Dec 12, 2011, 12:12 pm |
Mummy had put in some dried fruit for soaking in brandy the other day.
Today, we will make the Christmas cake. The butter and sugar is being creamed. Eggs were added. Flour, spices, the fruit, nuts and treacle also get added. The cake will take 4 hours in the oven, after our bedtimes. Maybe we'll have a photo with it when the cake is fed some more brandy. |

Today, we've come out late to Porthmadog to find a Geocache.
We are in a bird hide. Porthmadog is a coastal town and is sited on the estuary of the River Glaslyn. On another occasion, Mummy saw a red-breasted merganser bird. I can't see any birds out there. This is a geocache, with the logsheets in a 35mm film canister. It is getting dark and time to go home. |

There's a piece missing.... |
miapearl Posted Jan 11, 2012, 12:46 pm |
We went to grandma's for Christmas.
My family started the tree without us. These lights work! We hid among the tinsels |
miapearl Posted Jan 12, 2012, 12:04 pm |
What is behind us in the wrapping paper? Gold! |
miapearl Posted Jan 12, 2012, 12:12 pm |
We've come out for a New Year's Eve walk to the beach
This is (old) Hunstanton beach, faces west but is on the East coast of England. There's a lot of people over there. What are they looking at? Oh dear, poor whale. According to one of the locals, it had died out at sea. The brown layer is Carrstone, a sandstone with cement. Above, there is red and white chalk. This is an old lighthouse. I like the way the sand is rippled. There isn't as much white chalk on the cliff, some had fallen down. |

Tomorrow is a new year
Let's celebrate with some cake |
miapearl Posted Jan 26, 2012, 11:04 am |

A package arrived Henrik came to see us! Someone new to talk to! However, Mr Wilson and KalliHH are leaving tomorrow. |

Today, we went to Garden Organic's Ryton Gardens near Coventry for a Potato Day.
Look at all these spuds! There were so many different ones. It was a pleasant day so we walked around the gardens. Ryton Gardens has many little gardens. This is a small garden. This is the biodynamic garden. This is Paradise Gadren There's fruit still on the trees. Grandma has one of these plants in her garden |
miapearl Posted Feb 24, 2012, 9:37 am |
After leaving Ryton Gardens, we had time to stop off in Ironbridge at Enginuity, a hands-on science centre.
Look what is inside a teddy. A Dyson washing machine. And some model ships. The ? are to be aimed at with a special remote to activate a commentary There's a bicycle powered thing. A crazy boiler! Wind Power. There are different numbers of sails to experiment in the wind. Water power and dams. It is a big display. Tessellations. Can we put this back together? I think so... Yes we can! Another one! Done! Let's have a race in the Norgren Climbing Challenge! A tie! |

We haven't been out recently, my mum and dad have been redecorating the house slowly. Anyway, this room was recently finished and is now a workshop and jigsaw area.
We decided to help my big brother do The Periodic Table jigsaw puzzle he received for Christmas. Gwen Jolie and I found a jigsaw piece of Bismuth to put in. We all dived in to have a look for more pieces to put in the puzzle. Captain Caramel found a piece to fit in. I put in a piece of Tantalum. |

Hi, mom!
I'm in Vilnius, Lithuania. Cool! Finally my journey begins! It was great to see three new friends waiting for me - it's Porridge, Finfin and Húlí hútú. They gave me a big and friendly hug We decided to see what's new outside, because Karolina (my new host mum) felt not very good today and she stayed at home. We went to the balcony: We played hide and seek I'm hiding here, haha! It was a bit cold and cloudy outside so we went to our beds and fell asleep. I hope I'll like my journey here! Can't wait to see Vilnius! Love, Zed Dog |

Hi, mum!
Today we went to Latvia because Karolina with her family wanted to see some relatives. It was a great journey, though it was raining in the morning. We had so much fun in the car, too! Here we are in our new house in Riga, Latvia: After some time spent talking to all aunts and uncles (they're all very friendly ) we went for a walk in the city. Riga is the capital and largest city of Latvia. The city lies on the Gulf of Riga, at the mouth of the river Daugava. Riga's historical centre is a UNESCO World Heritage Site, noted for its Art Nouveau/Jugendstil architecture and 19th century wooden architecture! Here we are at the Bastion Hill park: And these are wedding locks on the bridge. So romantic!.. What a great fountain! Near the Latvian monument to Freedom (for Heroes killed in action during the Latvian War of Independence) : Musicians of Bremen Monument, Riga. How cool is that? Do you know that you have to make a wish and touch all of the 4 animals noses? Not many people touch the top of it, but everyone touches the donkey's nose. You can see it from the picture (unfortunatelly, I couldn't get other two musicians in the photo): And here we are all in the flowers: The Old Town... Near the monument with my friends: Talking about the public transport - trams are very popular in Riga! We were in Latvia when they had their public holidays. June 23rd is Līgo, a day before Jāņi. It's a Latvian festival held in the night from 23 June to 24 June to celebrate the summer solstice (Midsummer), the shortest night and longest day of the year. Many people that day were wearing a "crown" made of leaves and flowers, and the public transport was free. So, we were inside of the trams, too! We had to go back, so I stopped to take a picture with this angel sculpture: It was great to see another country, even if this journey was that short. I hope to visit Latvia again one day, I liked it! After we came back from our short trip to the Old Town, we went back home to Lithuania. I was a bit tired, so I took a nap. Love, Zed Dog |

Hi!
Today was our host mum's BIRTHDAY!!! Yayyy!! We all gave her a big hug and said many beautiful words. I wished her to laugh a lot and have a great time Here we are with the chocolate cake! I also gave Karolina a pretty flower. Then we all sung "Happy birthday". Our host mum seemed very happy! The sad part was when two of us, toy voyagers, had to go to other countries. Though I've met Huli and Porridge just a few days ago, I'll miss them so much - they are very great friends! Me and Finfin said goodbye to them and wished a good journey. Love, Zed Dog |

Hi, mom!
On Saturday, me, Finfin and our host mum wanted to go somewhere. Karolina showed us this little piece of paper and we decided to visit "Flea festival 2012"! We went to Karpiškių village, near Varėna. I was looking at the plan: Nature everywhere! Seems that it's going to be a fun day! Here we met a lot of interesting people and animals, saw a lot of old stuff... ...ate some vegetarian food, listened to a good music! We found a place called "Ramybės pieva" ("Quiet meadow") and went to a tea drinking ceremony. That was very interesting! We tasted different teas, such as pu erh or oolong tea. That was a great festival! We all came back home relaxed and happy. Hugs, Zed Dog |
coraline Posted Jul 6, 2012, 8:36 am |
Labas!
I said "hello" to you in Lithuanian! This evening was very warm and nice so Karolina took us to a little "on-a-bike" trip. We went from our house to almost the Old Town (Karaliaus Mindaugo bridge). Wow, that was a big journey for me! Here we stopped near to the Tuskulėnai park to take a picture with this beautiful building: We've also seen Gediminas' castle and all the time we were riding near the Neris river. Though it was only an hour, I really like it! Feel kinda sporty now, haha. Kisses, Zed Dog |
coraline Posted Jul 7, 2012, 8:48 am |
Hi, mom!
Today we celebrated a big event in Lithuania - the day when Mindaugas was crowned King of Lithuania. It happened really long time ago, at the year of 1253! Mindaugas (ca. 1203 – fall 1263) was the first known Grand Duke of Lithuania and the only King of Lithuania. We also went to the beach near Neris river. It was a really hot and sunny day! Love, Zed Dog |

Bonjour!
Today is a busy day - tomorrow we are going to Nida, a sunny resort in Lithuania. It is located on the Curonian Spit. It has 1,650 residents and is the administrative center of the Neringa municipality. Nida is the westernmost point of Lithuania and the Baltic States. Me and Finfin are packing our stuff: I will not be able to update my travelog until July 13, but I hope that when I return, you'll see many beautiful photos! Au revoir! Zed Dog |
coraline Posted Jul 14, 2012, 8:21 am |
Hi!
Me and Finfin with our host mum and her family are going to Nida. Great! We woke up very early in the morning and after 3 hours we were in Klaipėda. We went to Neringa with a ferry and we saw many birds flying with us! We decided to go to The Sea Museum. But first, we took a picture near Curonian Lagoon! It's me next to the ship "Dubingiai": After 2 km of walking we finally reached it! Lithuanian Sea Museum, here I come! Funny penguins And here you can see on the right side curonian lagoon and on the left side - Baltic sea! It's something like a bridge that separates the sea and the curonian lagoon: The Baltic sea, great! So big and... wet! Look, mummy, what a big ship I found! And this is a picture inside the old wooden house - museum: Well, it's time to go. Next stop - Juodkrantė! Love, Zed Dog |
coraline Posted Jul 15, 2012, 8:19 am |
Hi there!
Our jorney continues and after the Sea Museum, we stopped to see one of the largest grey heron and cormorant colonies in Europe - The Hill of Herons. It's a bit scary to be there! Finally we arrived at Nida! Our flat is really cosy, but we decided not to sit at home and to go for a walk in the evening. The Curonian Sea (Lagoon) is very nice There are many beautiful weathercocks in Nida: Near the yacht: Nida has it's own star gallery with hand prints of famous lithuanian singers, actors and others. Here we are near the very famous person in Lithuania Vytautas Kernagis hand print: Birdies came to take a picture! Wow, Nida looks so great! It's a small town, but I understand why this place has long been an attraction for tourists and artists. Hugs, Zed Dog |
coraline Posted Jul 15, 2012, 8:31 am |
Labas!
Today it was raining, but in the evening the weather was nice again and we went out for a walk. We saw a beautiful Parnidis dune! We also stopped to see the Sundial - Calendar. It's sad that in 1999 hurricane "Anatoly" tore down part of the solar clock, but it still looks interesting! And this is the calendar - I'm in the summer part! Other dunes. If you take a closer look, you can see a part of Russia - Kaliningrad Oblast is bordered with Lithuania! On the beach... And here is Nida lighthouse. It's very big and beautiful, we could see it when we were at the beach! Watching the sunset: I'm really going to miss this place when we leave Love, Zed Dog |
coraline Posted Jul 15, 2012, 8:41 am |
Hey!
Our last day in Nida was very cool - we ate a delicious cake named "Juodkrantė" and drank warm milk: We also stopped at Preila to buy some fish and it was time to go. Our last stop was to say goodbye to the Baltic Sea: Bye bye, Neringa! It was great to see such an amazing and beautiful place. Maybe one day I'll come back here xxx, Zed Dog |
coraline Posted Jul 15, 2012, 9:21 pm |
It's really sad when you have to say goodbye to a friend. Finfin is leaving tomorrow and I already miss her! I gave this cute ladybird a big hug and I wish her all the best on her way to Switzerland!
The weather forecast says that it's going to be a rainy week. Well, maybe we'll find some work to do! Miss you, mummy, Zed Dog |

Hi!
A new toy voyager has arrived - it's Emma Squirrel! And I also became friends with new Karolina's traveler Leila: Karolina said that it's time to go and see Vilnius! We stopped here, next to the fountain: And this is the Town Hall! Isn't it beautiful? Here I am near the Barbora Radvilaitė statue. She was Queen of Poland and Grand Duchess of Lithuania as consort to Sigismund II Augustus: Look! I'm posing in front of one part of the Vilnius University - it is the oldest university in the Baltic states and one of the oldest in Eastern Europe. It is also the largest university in Lithuania: The Presidential Palace is located in Vilnius Old Town, in 1997 this place became the official seat of the President of Lithuania: Here is the very famous Cathedral of Vilnius (Vilniaus Šv. Stanislovo ir Šv. Vladislovo arkikatedra bazilika). It's the main Roman Catholic Cathedral of Lithuania. You can also see the Bell Tower! That was a great day and I met two new friends! Too bad that my journey in here ends soon... Love, Zed Dog |
coraline Posted Jul 28, 2012, 1:44 pm |
Hello, mummy!
First of all, I'm so sorry that I couldn't upload new pictures within this week - Karolina was really busy, so we didn't have much chances to go and see something. But we spent a really good time at home! Soap bubbles are so much fun! And look how many nice postcards Karolina has received from Belarus and Italy! I hope that one day I'll travel there: We wanted to choose a place where to go next for Emma Squirrel, as she is a new voyager here (in Vilnius). Our host mum gave us a map of the city and we had a really hard time thinking what would be the best place to go next week. But we did it, we chose it! Shh, it's a secret... A day with a movie is even better -we saw "Tangled". It was such a great story! And then Karolina decided to take us for a walk outside, near the house. Another friend came with us - it's Karolina's rabbit, named Mr. Rabbit He's so adorable: Well, that's all for now. It's really hot outside, so I'm almost melting here. But I guess it's the real summer, right? Hugs, Zed Dog |

Today is my last day in Vilnius and it's really hard to say goodbye to my friends Emma Squirrel and Leila and my host mum Karolina. Thank you all for such a great hosting and being nice to me! I loved Vilnius and other places like Riga, Latvia and Nida. But it's time to go... Next stop - GERMANY! Leila is also going to Germany, so we all made a big hug to Emma, she stays in Vilnius. It's time to go... Bye, everyone!! I hope the journey won't be that long! Hugs, Zed Dog |

Dear Mum
it was quite a fast journey. I've safely arrived in Heidelberg. First I was greeted by Coco Presley who lives here. She welcomed me very warmly. Then she called the other TV's who are currently living here: Gypsy, Brinda and Yetta Bear. Well, and then a great surprise: Another dog! And not even any dog. No, it's Gaspode. We have the same mentor and I hadn't expect to see him before my return to Wales. He was also very cheerful. Happy greetings, Zed Dog |

Hello mommy,
I arrived safely in Bavaria, Germany today *___* After I crawled out of my envelope I was greeted warmly by Tsukumo. She's a really lovely sheep. For breakfast we had cookies. Each of us got a heart and we shared the round one. So delicious! ♥ I can't wait to see what will happen tomorrow! :> Love you, Zed Dog |

Mommmmmmmmyyyy ,
wow, today was such a busy and exhausting day but I had so much fun!! Host-mum and 4 of her friends went to Munich to see the Japanese band "An Cafe" perform live! *___* As the place in her bag was really limited she only took me with her and Tsukumo had to stay at home. She wasn't too sad though because we promised we would buy her a souvenir Here you can see me in the car on our way to Weiden where the train station is. When we were waiting for the train it started to rain ... After a 3 hour journey we finally arrived in Munich and got to the "Meininger City Hostel" to get ready for the concert in the evening. Host-mum didn't take a jacket or umbrella with her because the sky had cleared again earlier and it didn't look like rain... well, while we were standing in front of the concert hall waiting to be let in it started raining cats and dogs. Phewww ... luckily she kept me in her bag and I stayed dry but she and her friends looked like drowned rats before the gig even started ._. ~ 8°C outside temperature didn't really help. Nevertheless we had the most amazing time with the band ever!! ♥ I'm sure you can imagine that we all were extremely exhausted by the time we got back to the hotel (11 pm). Host-mum said her back and feet hurt quite bad but since she carried me around all the time I still felt great. Our voices were gone because of all the screaming and I had a slight ringing in my ears but the next morning it was all better. A warm and comfy bed and a few hours of sleep was all that was needed. A three hour train ride back home .... ... and a happy Tsukumo as soon as we gave her the present we bough at the concert. A band shirt with all the members on it and a bag. Do you like the shirt? I think it looks awesome Hope your day was great, too! Miss you, Zed Dog ♥ |
WingedWolf Posted Nov 13, 2012, 12:05 pm |
Yesterday was the beginning of the carnival season and also St. Martin's Day so me and Tsukumo got this delicious "Martinshörnchen" in the shape of a goose. Yummy ♥

Hi mum,
today is host-mum's 20th birthday that's why we baked some cupcakes! Yummy, so much fun There even was a cheesecake host-mum's dad made ^__^ Tomorrow host-mum will show me her hometown, I'm so curious! Love you, Zed Dog |
WingedWolf Posted Nov 26, 2012, 11:37 am |
Hi Mummy,
As I said in my last post, host-mum wanted to show me 'Mantel' today. It's not a big city but it's beautiful. This stone can be found near the marketplace. I like that the sun was shining even though it's already the end of November. This is the Protestant church. There's a Catholic church, too but it's further afar. Here's host-mum's favorite house in Mantel. No one is living there anymore and as you can see it's quite old and dilapidated. They want to tear it down soon which is really sad as host-mum loves old buildings a lot ♥ Here you can see one of the two butcheries. The owner is very friendly and you always get something for free, too (: This is the last of originally 11 ovens they used back then to bake bred. It was built in 1809 and then restored in 1870 and 1977. Have a nice day, Zed Dog |
WingedWolf Posted Nov 27, 2012, 12:54 pm |
Today I went to the nearby woods with Tsukumo and host-mum. It's her favorite place because there are seldom any people and it's a wonderful way to relax and think.
We're sitting on bridge parapet here Beautiful green field. Can you see me? ^_^ I like the view! You can see a part of Mantel in the background (the small houses). We took a short break on our way up the hill ^_^ Sitting on trees This is where the woods begin. We found a few apples but they didn't look very tasty We also found a bird house, an abandoned deerstand and a pile of chestnuts. Another short rest in the woods. Tsukumo was sitting on my head but I'm a strong dog so I didn't mind The hearts host-mum found when she went outside with Isidore the other day were still here. Aren't they cute? Hugs, Zed Dog |

Aloha mommy,
we finished the last cookies today (butter cookies). I helped to decorate them! Here's a picture host mum's sister made. It's a Christmas present for their grandma and I'm sure she will like it. In the evening I tried to help host-mum with her Spanish homework and I learned some new words and phrases. Hello, my name is Zed Dog = ¡Hola! Mi nombre es Zed Dog. I am from the United Kingdom = Soy del Reino unido. How are you? = ¿Cómo estás? So much fun! ^o^ I also met 'Toni', he's host-mum's cat and although he's usually afraid of dogs he didn't run away from me. Well, I am a nice little dog after all! :> Greetings, Zed Dog |
WingedWolf Posted Dec 16, 2012, 10:34 pm |
Muuuuum,
do you know what we did today? We watched 'the Hobbit' !! When we arrived at the cinema I took a photo with Martin Freeman, hehe There were a lot of cinema posters tbh. So while we were waiting inside until we were allowed to enter the cinema hall I was reading in a magazine. It was called "Kino & Co." and there was a nice article about 'The Hobbit' These 3D glasses really look cool on me, don't they?! I was soooo excited for the curtain to open and the movie to start! 3 wonderful hours later we left the cinema! Wow, what a great movie it was. Host-mum is an avid fan of Martin Freeman and she loves The lord of the rings and the Hobbit a lot. The soundtrack was amazing, too. Can't wait for the 2nd part - maybe I'll watch it with you back in North Wales, mummy? ♥ Host-mum's sister has this poster on her room door, nice nice Good Night, Zed Dog |

tomorrow is the 4th Advent and I'm sitting in the advent wreath here We wanted to decorate the Christmas tree today and I helped host-mum with all the candles, christmas balls and deco. So much fun! ^_^ Can't wait till Christmas! ♥ Miss you, Zed_Dog |

It's Christmas today, mommy! *___*
Look what host-mum's sister got from a good friend. A Bilbo plushie and he even has his sword Sting in one hand Host-mum got a CD from that friend. It's called "Janus" and from the Korean boyband "Boyfriend". They're really good. She also got that lovely Hobbit calendar, some money (which was hidden inside that snowman plushie ;D) and a Mona Lisa (Paint-by-number). She already started with the painting You can't see much yet. Well, host-mum has already finished the same picture about 2 years ago but her mum wanted her to do it again for her own room. Here you can see the "finished project", it's sooooo much work, it really takes some time! Next to "Mona Lisa" by Leonardo da Vinci there's "Der Mann mit dem Goldhelm" (The man with the golden helmet) by an unknown painter but often assigned to Rembrandt van Rijn, which was also painted by host-mum here. And I got a present, too. A red scarf! ♥ MERRY CHRISTMAS MUM! I HOPE YOU ENJOYED IT!!! Love you, Zed Dog |
WingedWolf Posted Jan 1, 2013, 1:08 pm |
NEW YEAR'S EVE TODAY!
Host-mum's cousin and his girlfriend came over to celebrate with us and they also brought sweets, alcohol and some pyrotechnics. At 9 pm we started with the "Raclette", the typical New Year's food in Germany (and fondue, too ) Cheese, meat, maize, onions, baguette/bread, sausages, veggies and different sauces. It was really delicious. At about 11.30 pm host-mum and her sister prepared a dessert they found in a cookbook written by the famous Jamie Oliver, hehe. It was called "Schokoladenauflauf mit karamelisierten Orangen" (chocolate soufflé with caramelised oranges). It was the best thing ever!!! ;o; A few minutes before midnight we went outside in the garden where host-mum's cousin, his girlfriend and father had already made up a fire. and BAMF! at 12 pm the fireworks finally started! We had quite a nice view and even managed to take some photos (even though they're a bit dark.) We went back in at around 0.45 am and clicked glasses with everyone! I was allowed to drink some champagne but not much. Anyway, we had a nice party and went to bed in the morning. Still so tired /yawns HAPPY NEW YEAR MOMMY! I hope that 2013 will bring you a lot of happiness, joy, success, love and friendship. See you soon! :* Yours, Zed |

Hi Mom,
it's been so long! Host-mum is super busy with work at the moment and has to do so many extra hours/work on Saturdays lately that she doesn't have time to go on trips with me. Today she took me to work with her, you can see me sitting in front of computer screen and the telephone here. Host-mum is currently working for a major German mail-order firm called 'Witt' and the three subsidiaries 'Sieh an!', 'ambria' and création L'. They sell clothes When work was over it was dark outside already and we went through the pedestrian area to the train station. I like cities by night. Oh, and we went to McDonalds, too xD Love you mum, Zed |

Later we helped him to climb back in the envelope because he's already travelling on to a new host. Huh, so busy but it was nice to see him save and sound again even if it was only for a short time. Miss you, Zed |

Hiii Mom ^__^
Today we went for a little walk in the morning. It was quite windy and rainy but still a beautiful day. So we went host-mum's favorite way up to the woods, do you remember it? I was there with her and Tsukumo already about 5 months ago Everywhere you're standing you have a very nice view. We came by lots of fields and benches There's usually water running through that pipe but it's all dried up now. Me, kleinerKobaer and Twix found an interesting tree stem! There was so much moss covering it. Wow! Another pile of tree stems, can you find me there? The sky turned quite dark after a while and just when we arrived at the woods it started to pour. Only for a short moment though. Look, there's a heart floating on the water puddle. So cute! ^o^ On our way back we saw some nice blossoms, which means spring is finally here, thank god! Hello mommy,
after all the rain in Bavaria it was finally warm again today so we took the chance and went to the nearby Max Reger Park in Weiden. You can see the "Max Reger Halle" in the background here, it's a very big and nice building where a lot of interesting festivals take place! Look! We even saw a small mouse, it's so cute! In the park there even is a playground! That's host-mum's favourite place in the park! ^o^ Hugs, Zed |

Hi mum ^o^
Isidore arrived back home in Germany. He had an amazing time in Japan with cocoaby who was a great host and sent some really sweet presents, too. When he climbed out of his box we all greeted him We thought it'll be a nice idea to cook something to celebrate, so we helped to cut carrots and zucchini ^_^ We also helped to whip some cream for our strawberries, hmm yummy :3 Best wishes, Zed |
