Well, it came time for me to start my travels.  I was a little apprehensive, but Blanche and Flora were very comforting as they hugged me goodbye.

kjnohr then took me to the envelope I was to be traveling in.  Look, it has my name on the return address label!

Here I am all ready to head to bsliv1219 in Ohio.

I'm glad Ohio isn't too far so that I can come home if I get too scared.  But I think everything will be fine - I even got my tag before I left!  See you in Ohio!  :)

WOW!  When we first looked at these pictures we noticed there was a GHOST in them.  I wonder if he'll turn up again!

I sat on the computer and helped write a note to kjknohr to let her know I had arrived safely.  Today is a 'jamma' day, so we're not going anywhere, but tomorrow...who knows!

I have arrived in Miami already!  When I came out from my package, I got a warm welcome from Mocha, Romeo and Momette.

My host found it funny that I should arrive in the mail along with this letter soliciting help to save polar bears.  It tells you how global warming has endangered us.

"My! Quite the little activist you are!" My host exclaimed.  I just smiled.

Then she turned the envelop over:

"So is this what you have in mind?"

Well, I just gave her an innocent big grin.  But honestly, I think the polar bear in the picture looks really cute.  My host sent in a check to the non-profit group, but she told me it may take 6-8 weeks for the bear to arrive.  I hope I get to meet her before I leave!!

Meanwhile, Mocha introduced me to all the polar bears in his village.  I am happy to meet all of them!

Mocha also introduced me to his grandpapa, Capuccino, and his friends.  He also let me ride on his sled.  He told me it was a present from Robito.

We all sat on the palm tree together.  It felt good until the wind blew and sent us all tumbling down...

We celebrated Thanksgiving Day.

A traditional dish is turkey.  Our host instead has a tradition of donating money to Save A Turkey Project, so we got a tofurkey (vegetarian turkey) instead.

We found that it was frozen solid.

We put some sweet potato, onion and gravy in the casserole and baked it.  Mmm, it smelled good!

And here's some cherve with honey, walnut and cranberry for dessert.  Our host made this at where she works.

We also had some pumpkin beer to go with it.

Ahh, what a grand meal!!

Today we went to the Ramble Festival at the Fairchild Tropical Garden.  It is one of the oldest festivals in Miami, set in a beautiful tropical garden.

This is a very interesting fountain!

And this is one interesting cactus!

We found a bunch of coconuts that are sprouting.

Today we did something very exciting!! We went to Shark Valley.  Which is a funny name for a place, because it's neither a valley and doesn't have shark.  In fact, it's in the Everglades National Park, which is a swampy area that is a very slow moving river, and it is full of alligators.  Our host decided that she needed some exercise after all the food so we went cycling there.

http://i171.photobucket.com/albums/u314/azuki726/toy%20voyagers/alligator3.jpg

Look, here's an alligator!!

http://i171.photobucket.com/albums/u314/azuki726/toy%20voyagers/alligator7.jpg

Spotting another one...

http://i171.photobucket.com/albums/u314/azuki726/toy%20voyagers/alligator14.jpg

Here, coming nose to nose...

http://i171.photobucket.com/albums/u314/azuki726/toy%20voyagers/alligator6.jpg

Here is a big mommy gator

http://i171.photobucket.com/albums/u314/azuki726/toy%20voyagers/alligator10.jpg

with her three babies!

http://i171.photobucket.com/albums/u314/azuki726/toy%20voyagers/alligator11.jpg

In total we counted 18 alligators.  Our host told us that one time, when it was colder and the gators came out to sunbathe, she counted 47 of them.  To me, 18 sounds like plenty already.
