My name is Lumpy and I'm a cute little blue dinosaur. I finally recieved my toyvoyager tag and am ready to go travel the world! Over the last month I've been watching my owner spend lots of time on this forum called PaFo so I hope to visit many PaFoers. I hope to find the kind ones, and hopefully I won't get caught with any trolls along the way! I hope I can see lots of the US! Jayme says the first person I'm off to visit is savagefamily and that she is very sweet. San Francisco here I come!

Lumpy got delivered to me August 5th. Here's the bed my son helped make him, so he'll be comfortable with us on his visit.

This weekend we will tour San Francisco together, and then Lumpy's in for a big surprise. He's coming on vacation with us too, so he's in the adventure of a lifetime through Northern California & Reno before heading to our friend barbieq in Texas.

Check back over the next 2 weeks for updates!!!  B)

Everyone else is asleep, and I'm a tiny bit homesick, so I thought I'd peek at the picture from home. It's made me feel a lot better. I can't wait to get out there and explore!

I had a great day today riding around San Francisco. Our first stop was to see a Cable Car. He had to wait a few minutes but it was worth the wait.

http://i98.photobucket.com/albums/l276/savagefamily0220/007-1.jpg
http://i98.photobucket.com/albums/l276/savagefamily0220/008-4.jpg
Then we took a drive to the Civic Center Area. There was this really cool Memorial in Memory of James Lick
http://i98.photobucket.com/albums/l276/savagefamily0220/014-2.jpg
Then I saw this guy with a baby lion biting his arm. I had to get a closer look. It says his name is Ashurbanipal
http://i98.photobucket.com/albums/l276/savagefamily0220/018-4.jpg
City Hall was nearby, the sun was right in my eyes so I could not see it very well.
http://i98.photobucket.com/albums/l276/savagefamily0220/013-2.jpg
So, why not drive a little closer..
http://i98.photobucket.com/albums/l276/savagefamily0220/022-3.jpg
On the way out of this area we saw the Asian Art Museum
http://i98.photobucket.com/albums/l276/savagefamily0220/019.jpg
I figured it was time to go back home. Who would have known there were so many places to pass on the way!

Just a few blocks from City Hall was this fine Government subsidized housing community
http://i98.photobucket.com/albums/l276/savagefamily0220/023-2.jpg
And then just a few more blocks away are the famous Painted Ladies
http://i98.photobucket.com/albums/l276/savagefamily0220/024-3.jpg
Finaly the family I'm staying with got hungry, so we stopped at a Mexican restaurant. I was a little scared of the decor  :o
http://i98.photobucket.com/albums/l276/savagefamily0220/030-4.jpg
I was in no mood to eat Mexican after that, so we stopped for my favorite snack too

Off we went on another San Francisco adventure today! It's my last night in the city before we hit the road.
http://i98.photobucket.com/albums/l276/savagefamily0220/003-1.jpg
Here's the Arguello Blvd gates to Golden Gate Park. They close the park down to cars on weekends, so all the humans can rollerblade and skateboard and ride bikes.
http://i98.photobucket.com/albums/l276/savagefamily0220/001.jpg
We went to the Golden Gate Bridge, and I got to pose with a statue of the creator of the bridge, Joseph Strauss.
http://i98.photobucket.com/albums/l276/savagefamily0220/008-5.jpg
This is a piece of the bridge I got to sit on! It's huge, and made up of smaller cables inside.
http://i98.photobucket.com/albums/l276/savagefamily0220/010-1.jpg
http://i98.photobucket.com/albums/l276/savagefamily0220/009-3.jpg
I listened to some oldies on the jukebox at Johnny Rockets. A-1 is the best song
http://i98.photobucket.com/albums/l276/savagefamily0220/012-1.jpg
Those pigeons reallly hit the spot list time I was out. But I figured I'd branch out & try something different this time
http://i98.photobucket.com/albums/l276/savagefamily0220/013-3.jpg

I'll update on the road when there is internet service.

We're on the road now! After driving a while, we got out to 104 degree temperatures! Here we are at a rest stop, where I met a praying mantis buddy!~
http://i98.photobucket.com/albums/l276/savagefamily0220/026-2.jpg
Next rest stop was at Rolling Hills Indian Casino. I'm a little too young to gamble so I just looked in from the cafe.
http://i98.photobucket.com/albums/l276/savagefamily0220/039-1.jpg
In the lobby an eagle tried to steal me, I barely escaped!
http://i98.photobucket.com/albums/l276/savagefamily0220/034-1.jpg
After almost 7 hours we got to our destination, Weaverville, CA!
http://i98.photobucket.com/albums/l276/savagefamily0220/064.jpg
Now I have become one with a tree stump
http://i98.photobucket.com/albums/l276/savagefamily0220/069-1.jpg
Hung out by the pool
http://i98.photobucket.com/albums/l276/savagefamily0220/071-1.jpg
And played around in a wishing well

http://i98.photobucket.com/albums/l276/savagefamily0220/074-1.jpg
And it's only the first day here! I love being on vacation, on vacation.
There' fires nearby so there is a lot of smoke in the air. here's the sunset through the haze.

This is my last night in Weaverville. I have been so busy I didn't have time to be in every picture, but I traveled to a lot of cool places so I'll post a few of those too.

Today we went to Canyon Creek in Junction City, CA and I got to play on the rocks. I don't like getting wet.
http://i98.photobucket.com/albums/l276/savagefamily0220/051.jpg
We even saw a mama & baby deer on the way back! I like seeing other animals

http://i98.photobucket.com/albums/l276/savagefamily0220/025-1.jpg
And here I am in Downtown Weaverville at sunset.
http://i98.photobucket.com/albums/l276/savagefamily0220/076-1.jpg
Yesterday we had some fun adventures too. We went to Lake Lewiston, the humans did something called fishing there and forgot me in the car! They said I could post still post this picture of the Lake
http://i98.photobucket.com/albums/l276/savagefamily0220/050-3.jpg
And we ran into these awesome bears, they're my new friends
http://i98.photobucket.com/albums/l276/savagefamily0220/019-1.jpg
And the best part of the day was climbing a tree and just enjoying the sun
http://i98.photobucket.com/albums/l276/savagefamily0220/014-3.jpg
Before bed we all played Skip-Bo and I won!!
http://i98.photobucket.com/albums/l276/savagefamily0220/006-4.jpg
I'm told next I'll be going to Fort Bragg CA, and I'll get to see the Pacific Ocean up close. That is one of my life goals, so I am very excited about this trip!!

Today I drove down the California Coast. Our first stop was for lunch in a little town called Willow Creek where I had an awesome burger fries & smoothie. That was still in Trinity County near where I stayed the last few days.
http://i98.photobucket.com/albums/l276/savagefamily0220/021-3.jpg
After a LOT more driving we got to downtown Eureka on the coast. It was a lot colder here than in Weaverville. Now we we're in Humbolt County.
http://i98.photobucket.com/albums/l276/savagefamily0220/027-3.jpg
Then we stopped at this place called "The Legend of Bigfoot" in Garberville. I got to meet another nice bear, he was very welcoming.
http://i98.photobucket.com/albums/l276/savagefamily0220/038-1.jpg
I saw an eagle with a snake in it's mouth!
http://i98.photobucket.com/albums/l276/savagefamily0220/035-2.jpg
And I wore a real coon skin cap!
http://i98.photobucket.com/albums/l276/savagefamily0220/049.jpg
After 7 hours we reached our goal, Fort Bragg, in Mendocino County, CA. It's really foggy here! I was told I can see the ocean from my balcony, but all I see is fog!
http://i98.photobucket.com/albums/l276/savagefamily0220/067.jpg
Time to go over the hill & look for the Ocean, one of my life missions is to see the Pacific & Atlantic. And look, there's the Pacific Ocean!!!!

http://i98.photobucket.com/albums/l276/savagefamily0220/004-2.jpg
We took a day trip to see some Redwoods. It was a long trip, good thing I brought my coffee
http://i98.photobucket.com/albums/l276/savagefamily0220/027-4.jpg
We went to a place called Mendocino Redwood Grove. They had a huge old growth redwood I visited. It was so big I could not even get the whole tree in 2 pictures!
http://i98.photobucket.com/albums/l276/savagefamily0220/066-2.jpg
http://i98.photobucket.com/albums/l276/savagefamily0220/065.jpg

Look at this, and old piece of equipment used for logging
http://i98.photobucket.com/albums/l276/savagefamily0220/060-1.jpg
I found a better use, it's fun to climb!
http://i98.photobucket.com/albums/l276/savagefamily0220/058-2.jpg
And I found these little pinecones, they're just my size!
http://i98.photobucket.com/albums/l276/savagefamily0220/063-3.jpg
And look, I got to accomplish one of my life goals today, to play in the dirt!!!

Today I went to a local Fort Bragg Beach, Glass Beach. It used to be a garbage dump years ago. They cleaned up most of it, but there's still tiny pieces of glass all over. It's been polished by the waves and is now mixed in with the sand.
http://i98.photobucket.com/albums/l276/savagefamily0220/222.jpg
http://i98.photobucket.com/albums/l276/savagefamily0220/223.jpg
There were rocks, cliffs & caves everywhere
http://i98.photobucket.com/albums/l276/savagefamily0220/225.jpg
Then we went to Otis R. Johnson Wildlife Park. I got to sit on a giant tree stump
http://i98.photobucket.com/albums/l276/savagefamily0220/268.jpg
And a little creek
http://i98.photobucket.com/albums/l276/savagefamily0220/269.jpg
And later on I found a bunch of my friends! I tried my best to rescue them but I ran out of quarters

Well, Lumpy is off to his next family. We had a great time hosting him on our trip and are happy to have shown him so many great places around the west coast the past 2 weeks.

He got to complete one of his goals, to play in the dirt, and is well on his way to completing his goal to see the pacific & atlantic oceans. He has eaten tons of yummy food, but he's always hungry for more (who would have known such a little guy ate SO much!) And he saw a few lakes. I bet when he gets to the Minnesota pafoers he'll get to fulfill his goal to see many lakes.

Anyway, here's a last goodbye to Lumpy before he gets mailed off to Texas. It was great having you little guy!!

Lumpy arrived in Minnesota (the land of 10,000 lakes) about a week ago. He's been very excited to tag along with us! Welcome to Minnesota, Lumpy!! We're so glad you're here.

Since Lumpy's arrival, summer has made it's way out and fall is definitely here! The leaves are changing and there's a definite chill in the air. Lumpy likes to sit outside and check out the foliage.

Today we visited the Oregon Museum of Science and Industry, or OMSI for short. We had lunch at the OMSI Cafe. We investigated bugs with our magnifying glasses. I met OMSI Fred, who has apparently been there a LONG time. I had a conversation with a real bullfrog. I saw the view of the river from a glass elevator. And I got to play with a lot of kids and see cool exhibits. Check it out at www.omsi.edu.

I just arrived in a small town called Berea in the state of Kentucky.  I am just below the Mason Dixon line.  My host family has promised they will start showing me around tomorrow, because it was starting to get dark when they got me out of the mailbox.  I met their little girl already though.

Hello!  As promised my host family started my tour of their area!  I couldn't believe all the flowers!  I must have picked the right time of year to visit the Appalachain region.  :D  We took a LOT of pictures today!

When I got there I read the sign posted about the college. The town was founded around the college and it was one of the first integrated colleges in the south.

http://i30.photobucket.com/albums/c345/Spiffynikki/lumpy%20toy%20voyager/Pict0161.jpg

Next we went around checking out all of the lovely blooming trees.  Berea is a nationally recognized tree city so there were lots of those.

Hey all!  I went a little south of Berea today to where my host mom grew up.  It was a beautiful place, but it rained most of the day and we didn't get to go see the mountain or the creek.  Next time!  I did get to see some horses though.  Sorry, the sun was setting while we were taking pictures.  I met this big fellow today though.  We regarded each other for quite a while before he turned around and swished his tail at me and trotted away.

Wow, I had the most fun day!  We went back to the country and I got to go exploring at the creek that runs through my host familie's grandma's property, see their garden, meet a cow, a crawdad, and a bullfrog!

First was the creek. The water was really cold but it's lovely there!

http://i30.photobucket.com/albums/c345/Spiffynikki/lumpy%20toy%20voyager/Pict0189.jpg

I tried my balancing act on a tree that had fallen....

http://i30.photobucket.com/albums/c345/Spiffynikki/lumpy%20toy%20voyager/Pict0190.jpg

Then I just decided to hang out on a branch for a bit and look at all the little creatures swimming by.

http://i30.photobucket.com/albums/c345/Spiffynikki/lumpy%20toy%20voyager/Pict0192.jpg

We were wading back to the bank when we saw a bullfrog!  My host Nikki caught the slippery guy, he was huge! But when we posed for our pic, he slipped away!!!!  :( We looked for a long time but couldn't find him again, however, we did manage to find this little guy. I was just trying to make friends, but he attacked me!!!!  Creeks can be dangerous to little blue dinosaurs!

http://i30.photobucket.com/albums/c345/Spiffynikki/lumpy%20toy%20voyager/Pict0193.jpg
http://i30.photobucket.com/albums/c345/Spiffynikki/lumpy%20toy%20voyager/Pict0194.jpg

On the way back we stopped to look at the garden where they grow corn, beans, potatoes, tomatoes, and a ton of other stuff. It's all just starting to peek above the ground (sorry we could only fit a little bit in the picture) and the little boy in my host family held me up so I could be a camera hog in the shot like I always am!

http://i30.photobucket.com/albums/c345/Spiffynikki/lumpy%20toy%20voyager/Pict0195.jpg

They even let me drive the tractor!

http://i30.photobucket.com/albums/c345/Spiffynikki/lumpy%20toy%20voyager/Pict0196.jpg

We also found this lovely stand of blackberries that will be full of juicy berries by end of summer (too bad I have to leave before I can have some cobbler!), and these pretty daisies growing wild.

http://i30.photobucket.com/albums/c345/Spiffynikki/lumpy%20toy%20voyager/Pict0191.jpg
http://i30.photobucket.com/albums/c345/Spiffynikki/lumpy%20toy%20voyager/Pict0197.jpg

I stopped by Nikki's brother's room to see the turkey eggs he is trying to hatch...

http://i30.photobucket.com/albums/c345/Spiffynikki/lumpy%20toy%20voyager/Pict0198.jpg

Then on the way home I met Ms. Cow.  Try as I might she wouldn't talk to me, just wanted to keep munching the grass.

http://i30.photobucket.com/albums/c345/Spiffynikki/lumpy%20toy%20voyager/Pict0204.jpg

I have one more stop to make and I will be on my way to a new family. This has been so fun though!  I love it out in the boondocks!

Well today was my last day seeing the sites in Kentucky. I have had a lot of fun.  We finally got great weather (it sure was hot though!!!!) and went to see Old Town Berea, which is basically the other half of the crafts district and where a lot of the artisans Berea is famous for practice their trades and sell their work.

We started at the old train station, which is now the welcome and tourism center.  Lily, my host's daughter, was my tour guide today.

http://i30.photobucket.com/albums/c345/Spiffynikki/lumpy%20toy%20voyager/Pict0229.jpg

We stepped out back to see the rail road tracks. (sorry this one is dark, if you haven't noticed, host mom isn't the best photographer in the world)

http://i30.photobucket.com/albums/c345/Spiffynikki/lumpy%20toy%20voyager/Pict0230.jpg

Next we ran into more of those hands that seem to be everywhere here!

http://i30.photobucket.com/albums/c345/Spiffynikki/lumpy%20toy%20voyager/Pict0231.jpg

In the square next to the welcome center is an Appalachain cabin that was moved from it's home nearby and put in town as an example of the way the mountain people lived, and some still live today, though it isn't common anymore.

http://i30.photobucket.com/albums/c345/Spiffynikki/lumpy%20toy%20voyager/Pict0235.jpg

http://i30.photobucket.com/albums/c345/Spiffynikki/lumpy%20toy%20voyager/Pict0232.jpg

And the smokehouse

http://i30.photobucket.com/albums/c345/Spiffynikki/lumpy%20toy%20voyager/Pict0234.jpg

This craft store and gallery is built to look exactly like the barns common around the farms here...

http://i30.photobucket.com/albums/c345/Spiffynikki/lumpy%20toy%20voyager/Pict0236.jpg

Next we went over to the Weaver's Bottom where the resident artisan has been creating and working for more than 20 years.  I loved the paint job!

http://i30.photobucket.com/albums/c345/Spiffynikki/lumpy%20toy%20voyager/Pict0237.jpg

http://i30.photobucket.com/albums/c345/Spiffynikki/lumpy%20toy%20voyager/Pict0238.jpg

Next on to the historic jail, more than a hundred years old. It is now an antique shop, but the original iron bars are on the windows and the iron gate is still on the door.

http://i30.photobucket.com/albums/c345/Spiffynikki/lumpy%20toy%20voyager/Pict0239.jpg

We stopped off for a quick play break at the city playground...

http://i30.photobucket.com/albums/c345/Spiffynikki/lumpy%20toy%20voyager/Pict0240.jpg
http://i30.photobucket.com/albums/c345/Spiffynikki/lumpy%20toy%20voyager/Pict0241.jpg
http://i30.photobucket.com/albums/c345/Spiffynikki/lumpy%20toy%20voyager/Pict0242.jpg

Then I helped drive home. I wasn't so good at steering,

http://i30.photobucket.com/albums/c345/Spiffynikki/lumpy%20toy%20voyager/Pict0246.jpg

So I sat on Nikki's shoulder and navigated instead...

http://i30.photobucket.com/albums/c345/Spiffynikki/lumpy%20toy%20voyager/Pict0247.jpg

I really have enjoyed my stay here, and my last post will be getting in the box in the morning and heading off for a new adventure!

Today we are in Turkey!!!  We visted a carpet co-op.  There are many nomadic tribes in Turkey.  This co-op teaches women the fine art of rug making.  They taught and given supply to make the rugs.  They sell there work to the co-op and the co-op helps them to open bank accounts so their village fathers don't steal their money.  They want to teach women that they have other options for taking care of themselves so they don't have to feel ruled by their fathers.  Very cool.

We visited what is to be the home of the Virgin Mary.  (St.) John brought her to Turkey after the death of Jesus.  This site is as important to the Muslims as it is the Christians.  Did you know that Muslims believe in the Virgin Birth?  We drank water from the spring which was to have healing powers.  I don't know if it worked but Littleminn didn't suffer one hangover on the cruise.

I went to a Mosque too but Littleminn didn't think it was appropriate to take my picture inside.

Lumpy has arrived in Los Angeles.  He arrived right befoe Christmas.  We took him to Universal City Walk, Big Bear, Santa Monica Pier, Hollywood, and around Los Angeles.

He is on his way to visit Aydin, and will be there in time for Elizabeth's wedding!

Oh we are so excited to have lumpy with us.

We just had a fun Easter weekend and lumpy. We drove to Copperopolis California to visit family.

We hunted eggs, went to a street fair where we drew eggs with chalk and met TWO Easter bunnies.

Lumpy was an awesome doctor buddy today. DD wrapped him up with plastic wrap to be like her before she went to get her blood drawn!
