mmm105 Posted Aug 6, 2012, 9:34 am	Hello everyone! My name is Suomi-boy. As you can see, I'm blue and white coloured. It's the colours of my homecountry, Finland. And guess what? My name is related to my homecountry, too. "Suomi" means Finland in Finnish language. Isn't that cool? I'm so exited, because mommy said I could be a ToyVoyager and travel in different places and countries. I want to see everything in the World (oh my... it's a big plan!).  I have a sister. Her name is Suomi-girl (take a look at the picture!). She is also a ToyVoyager! I'm ready for my first adventure. Just can't wait to start my first journey... Hugs, Suomi-boy
mmm105 Posted Aug 7, 2012, 3:49 pm	Hi! It's my last day at home, so I wanted to have a party. We toys were having a Tea Party, and it was fun! After the party, I watched some pictures of USA. It's the country, where I'm going in my very first journey. I'm lucky, because I don't have to travel alone. I will travel with BarryO to visit his home. Kurnau said goodbye to me. And then all others were saying it, too. I'm happy, because my sister Suomi-girl can start her very first journey in the same day as me. She will go to visit in Germany. Then I climbed into my envelope, and I noticed there's soooo dark inside. I really hope my journey will be safe and fast. But I'm happy that I have a company here in the envelope (BarryO). LittleCableCars Posted Aug 16, 2012, 1:03 am	Lexie came into our boys' bedroom very early to wake us up with lovely music. She chose the banjo because it is associated with American folk music.  She plays like an angel.  We are all in love with her.    She is the only girl here. She set up a breakfast party for us and shared the chocolate she brought from Australia.  Then we looked at the postcards she, BarryO and I brought with us, and the stickers and pen mmm_105 sent from Finland; the pen has it's own ToyVoyager bear attached, so special. Lexie planned our itinerary to reflect her love for music.  Will show you where she took us next time.  Hint:  it's in the guidebooks and she can read!  She is the perfect woman, like the pied piper, we will follow her anywhere. LittleCableCars Posted Aug 26, 2012, 12:35 am	Howdy Sports Fans! We went out on the roof to see if we can catch sight of Jeremy sailing back from Europe.  It's too soon but we're practicing. These funny-looking boats are 45-foot catamarans racing in the America's Cup World Series.  There are teams here from Great Britain, France, Sweden, New Zealand, Italy, U.S.A. , South Korea, and China. LittleCableCars Posted Sep 1, 2012, 9:46 pm	Sunday the sun came out for the final day of the America's Cup World Series Racing.  We settled in on our own private viewing bench away from the crowds and then walked along shore to get a look at the races and took a couple of zooms.  The U.S. team (marked Oracle) came in second to Italy (the Prada boat) in the last race but had enough points to win the series. Yeah!!  We didn't see any sign of Jeremy yet.  Still too early.  Hope he's having fun. Love & Hugs from Your Suomi-Boy
LittleCableCars Posted Sep 4, 2012, 1:46 pm	A package arrived!  It was DuDette's souvenirs from her visit to MA-17 and Alex's house.  Hehe, it was addressed for DuDu.  He got so excited.  There was a postcard from his DuDette just for him and her mom; a menu from an Italian restaurant where she had her last meal in Berlin; an Easter egg, oh, has she been gone that long?; and most special of all was a big red heart.  DuDu shared the candy with us and Lexie played the French horn.  Ooh la la, isn't she gorgeous!! LittleCableCars Posted Sep 23, 2012, 10:05 pm	Lexie woke us up with her beautiful singing and then led us into the Little Theater where she is practicing for a special performance. We were mesmerized by her Wurlitzer organ playing. Then she practiced some magic tricks. He he, a playing card landed in my hat.  Of course, I volunteered to go up on stage to assist.  I stepped into a big box.  Lexie put a lid on it, said "abracadabra"; and, poof,  I disappeared. I sure hope it was a dream and I will see you again soon, Mom. Your Suomi-Boy, somewhere.
LittleCableCars Posted Sep 24, 2012, 8:27 pm	Man, what a dream!  How come we have headaches?  Why are Konrad and BarryO saying, "'how about dem Bears" when the local team is called the Niners?  Oh, yeah their favorite baseball team is called The Cubs.  Silly bears. We woke up late and Lexie came in playing some sort of zen instrument; not too hard on our throbbing brains; but then Lexie is always easy on the ears and eyes.  She is offering to make breakfast for us.  What did we do to deserve that?  I'm falling in love with her all over again. Hey, now I remember, we spent 12 hours in a sports bar waiting for her to figure out how to get us to re-appear.  The excitement, the yelling, the drunks spilling out onto the sidewalk; gad!, was that us? Yep!
LittleCableCars Posted Sep 27, 2012, 3:28 am	The white spot we saw in the sky on 21 September was the space shuttle Endeavour flying piggyback on a 727, on its way to retire at a museum in Los Angeles.  We try to be mysterious because Squab and his brother, Alex Kitty, like to play guessing games. LittleCableCars Posted Sep 28, 2012, 1:15 am	BarryO took Lexie and me out to see two of the well-known sights.  Do you know them, Mom?  The other guys stayed in to prepare the TV room for a football game.  Again?    Yes!  We love it!! LittleCableCars Posted Sep 30, 2012, 3:00 am	We went out onto a jetty to check out a musical geocache.  Pipes were placed in the water to catch the music of the waves.  We got there at high tide and could hear the waves lapping on the rocks but heard nothing through the pipes until we sat still for awhile. It just sounded like gulps.   The fog horns were more musical, I thought; but this is a very good spot to "sit by the dock of the bay," geocache and have a picnic. We think that big crane on a barge was scooping up sand to keep the channel to the Yacht Harbor clear.  Nope, I don't want that job, I'm gonna join Squab in his career as a Park Ranger with a surf board on my truck. This place must be haunted since it is made from tombstones that were moved here many many years ago when the city outlawed burials within its limits.  Yep, it is on the list.  Good thing we were not thinking about that.  We had a lot of fun.  See 'ya later, Your Suomi-Boy

On the way over we watched some Navy jets practicing for an air show.  Here are zooms of what we saw. Mom, today was a bit on the grey side, not a blue or white day for me. LittleCableCars Posted Oct 18, 2012, 1:19 am	At last!  The day came for Lexie's special performance.   She brought out a big old-fashioned iPod called a gramophone and played a few arias from "La Boheme" and then compared them to songs from "Rent"! She is being very nice to us because she wants us to help again with the magic box trick.  I was reluctant at first but it is our Lexie and we are madly in love with her.  So one by one we got into the box and disappeared. Uh-oh! But then she waved the magic wand again, recited some mumbo jumbo and it worked.  We were back in our seats and look what was in the box.  It is....  Oh no, is it really....  It is!!!   Ta-da!!

After lots of hugs, we took turns helping him with his luggage.  Hehe, he has stickers from four countries including his own. . Not bad for a guy who just wanted to stay home and host. C.T. Mouse, Detective, says he looks different.   Hmm, it was a rough trip, Jeremy told us, as it took longer than planned and he almost ran out of fresh water, candy and cupcakes.  Then we tucked him into bed and he fell asleep.  Hugs from your blue and white Suomi-boy

LittleCableCars Posted Oct 22, 2012, 5:04 am	While our host was busy in her office, we went up to the attic to see if we could find some old junk to use for Halloween costumes and decorations.  We found a wardrobe full of old clothes!  Lexie, Squab  and I put on sweaters while BarryO got a jacket.  Konrad put on a plaid bowtie and Jeremy picked out a fireman's hat and boots.  We will wear the rest of the stuff for special occasions.   But Konrad and Jeremy say they are guys, they won't wear anymore of that stuff.

We greeted him with lots of hugging and helped him bathe with soap Zandy sent and ate up all his candy. DuDu and his friend, POD-not are thinking about dressing as cowboys for Halloween so the baby tigers are now rodeo horses.  Strange country, the far west! We went to a Halloween party.  DuDu took us to a friend's house for a spooky evening.  We bobbed for apples, a skeleton popped out of a closet, there were cobwebs, witches and ghosts everywhere, we reached into a bowl and pulled out slimy eyes, eek; and lots of other stuff.  C.T. Mouse, Detective, said the eyes were really peeled grapes.  The host looked spooky but was very nice and a health nut.  He gave us fruit punch, apples, oranges, raisins and small denomination coins instead of candy. I wore a clown mask and the Ghost of Stow Lake appeared. Boo! Your scary, blue and white Suomi-boy
LittleCableCars Posted Nov 9, 2012, 8:39 pm	Hey Alex, So cool to have your own apartment!  Hope you find or make some cool furniture.  Can't wait to see it finished.  Yep, we have lots of tips.  Maybe put your lawn chair on the roof but leave room for Santa to land there on Christmas Eve.  .  Make a picnic up there.  Sun bathe.  Star gaze. This is how we make a bed:  find a box top in the size you want for the base.  Gather lots of material from the charity bag for sheets, blankets and pillow cases.  We took a piece of cat bed material from an old broken cat perch, sewed it double and stuffed it for a soft mattress.  A dark brown velour blouse was cut up for bedspreads, tablecloth, pillow and bolster covers.  The headboard is a 4" x 6" picture frame covered in that same velour material. A smaller bed has a platform made from another 4" x 6" frame. We got lazy and never finished hemming all the sheets and bedspreads but we think it doesn't show too much.   Of course, we test the beds daily by jumping up and down. . LittleCableCars Posted Nov 15, 2012, 1:56 am	Today is Lexie's last day here and we put on our outdoor gear to hike at Rodeo Beach in Marin County. Then we went home; she played a melodic bell for us and Squab did the chicken dance ; we hugged a lot and she took off through the magic box. Poof!! Don't worry, she read a book by Houdini's brother. If all goes well, she will soon appear on the most famous blue chair in all of Germany.   OMG!!  What is this .... Love and hugs, Suomi-boy

LittleCableCars Posted Nov 22, 2012, 7:24 pm	When we came home from grocery shopping, Noodles was home chatting with Miss Kitty!  Says he flew in through an open window after a 2,000 mile flight from Minnesota.  Hmm, I wonder what surprise his Mom has for him; she says he has to wait a couple of weeks.  We hugged him and he showed us the goodies he brought from Jillyfish's house.  Oh boy, he brought a Minnesota pencil and enough writing paper for all of us to write our letters to Santa.  We're going to watch the Macy Parade now while eating a bowl of pistachios.  See ya later at the Thanksgiving feast. LittleCableCars Posted Nov 23, 2012, 2:20 am	The Thanksgiving holiday is all about gratitude and the sharing of traditional foods that goes back to the pilgrims and indigenous Americans, and farther back to religious celebrations after the Fall harvest.  In 1941 U.S. President Franklin Delano Roosevelt set the holiday's date on the Fourth Thursday in November.  We sat around a big table and each of us told what we are thankful for and then had a moment of silence remembering our dear friend, kcrawfish.  We are very happy to have known her.  We enjoyed a traditional meal of salad; turkey, stuffing, sweet potatoes, mashed potatoes, squash, carrots, bread, cranberry sauce; several desserts, etc.

LittleCableCars Posted Nov 29, 2012, 8:40 pm	Some of the hotels here have a holiday tradition of displaying gingerbread houses in their lobbies. This one in the Hotel Nikko takes the cake. It made us smile.  People from many cultures settled in this city. Squab showed us about putting shoes outside your door on Dec. 5.  St. Nickolas will put small gifts in the shoes while we sleep.  Did you know that American children get small gifts in stockings on December 24-25 along with bigger gifts placed under the tree?  That's a long time to wait! DuDu says the kids in Shanghai get gifts of money in red envelopes at Lunar New Year which has dates that vary in January or February; it will be February 10 in 2013.  I have no idea what happens in Finland as I was born in August; this will be my first Christmas. LittleCableCars Posted Jan 9, 2013, 12:17 am	We went to Nob Hill to see gingerbread houses and Christmas decorations.  We stopped to look at Grace Cathedral and a fountain in Huntington Park before going into the Mark Hopkins Hotel.  The building with lots of flags is the Fairmont Hotel where we saw a human-size gingerbread house.  Soon I will be packing up for a warmer climate. fleursmum Posted Jan 31, 2013, 5:50 am	Hi Mum, Photos as promised!! when I arrived I was met by Mr Shaun, Napoleon and Kali. I have travelled well I met Tupai the chow chow But I was ok! I sat out in the yard but it is very dry here - the grass is all brown and crunchy! we all sat out for a while and talked about our travels Here is where I am staying The gum tree has loads of flowers and bees!! fleursmum Posted Feb 6, 2013, 11:59 pm	Hi Mum, Am at work with Sue and we ave had a look at the elephant the art students decorated. Earlier last year there was a promotion at the Melbourne Zoo to celebrate that they had been looking after elephants for 150 years. Several schools were given an elephant to decorate. The schools went back to the Zoo for a display and now is back in the library. Having a ride!!  Love and hugs Suomi-boy xxooxx

fleursmum Posted Feb 7, 2013, 1:07 am	Hi Mum, We stopped in Geelong on the way home this afternoon and saw some of the bollards - the bollards tell the history of the area. these are the fishermen (and woman) lots of fishing happens out of Geelong a very nice blue and white lady Mum!!  and a wonderful blue and white boat!! fleursmum Posted Feb 10, 2013, 5:38 am	Hi Mum, We had a walk in the park today these statues are near the football oval, and were made by a lady with a chain saw fro the remains of an old tree. fleursmum Posted Feb 15, 2013, 10:52 am	Hey Mum, This evening we went to Quilting group, but after a while we could hear these drums...so we went off to have a look..and... found out it was Chinese New Year!  We listened to the drums (very loud) and the fire crackers (even louder) and watched the dragons dance and eat the fruit and veges put out for them (sorry for the blurry me, we zoomed in on the dragons!!) time to block the ears more fire crackers have been lit right by the ladder! fleursmum Posted Feb 15, 2013, 10:57 am	Hi Mum, Today was a hot sunny day until about 3 oclock and then the sky went dark and kaboom.....thunder and lightning and rain! And it rained and rained and rained!!! there was a waterfall coming down the front garden steps and the grass was flooded there was a lake in the back yard! The temperature dropped by about 10 degrees in half an hour! We had to eat dinner by candle light because there was no power until late in the night! The rain stopped after a couple of hours and very quickly most of the water disappeared! very strange Mum! Love and hugs Suomi-boy xxooxx

fleursmum Posted Feb 21, 2013, 6:26 am	Hi Mum, Today we went to meet friends at Bacchus Marsh which is about 25 minutes drive from Gisborne - we made some new friends in the main street there!  Kali and I thought we could have a good ride up here!  Not so sure about this one though!!  Back home and it is 30 degrees and then the rain came - not as much as last week, but lots of thunder and lightning again! fleursmum Posted Feb 26, 2013, 5:08 am	Hi Mum, Today we went in to the city to help Mr Shaun achieve a life mission here we are at the bottom of the Eureka Sky Tower - the tallest building in the Southern Hemisphere. The Skydeck is up 88 floors and it takes the lift 38 seconds to get up there!! Makes your ears pop! here I am up the top looking along the river, away from the main part of the  city here is part of the main city area- you can se the train lines and Flinders Street Station, with the green dome roof and St Pauls Cathedral over the road from the station we had a play with the telescopes!!  here you can see the sports centres by the Yarra - the tennis centre, the new soccer and rugby league stadium with the bumpy roof and the Melbourne Cricket Ground here I am outside behind me is the Port Phillip Bay here I am down below again Mum, looking at the bees on the building! fleursmum Posted Mar 7, 2013, 12:07 am	Hi Mum, Today we went to the Zoo to help Elmarachieve a life mission. going in some pelicans near the seals a banjo shark Mum - they are quite friendly and are harmless, they come up to the top of the water to have a look at you!! I think this is the closest I will get to a gorilla Mum!! and maybe an elephant!! here are the elephants - or maybe the elephant bottoms I should say - they are having a snack! these guys were busy feeding too! here is  fuzzy me Mum, we had to zoom in so you could see the koala!  the day is very hot now - about 33 degrees C, so the wallabies are all resting in the shade! fleursmum Posted Mar 17, 2013, 6:47 am	Hi Mum, Today we went to Ballarat Wildlife Park and I met a kangaroo!!! it was very friendly!  I learned some stuff about koalas and the Tassie Devil here is one behind me - they scream and fight and are scary!! I met a nice wombat - she is 6/7 years old and weighs 25kgs!! these are not Australian Mum, they are American alligators but we took a photo anyway!  I think this lizard wanted a kiss!!!!  some koalas in the tree Mum It is a very hot day today Mum, so the kangaroos are resting in the shade here I am at the front gate. fleursmum Posted Apr 17, 2013, 10:48 pm	Hi Mum, Today we are visiting Queenscliffe - it is an old fishing town now a holiday place which has an old fort and light house off down the pier here I am at the start of the pier ;looing up to the light house this is the old waiting room on the pier for people waiting for the ferry - the new ferry is further along the coast now up the hill near the light house now this light house was built in the 1960's and is the only black light house in Australia here is the original light house built in the 1860's this is a de fused bomb picked up by an Australian mine sweeper ship in WW2. fleursmum Posted Jun 19, 2013, 9:28 am	This afternoon we went to Port Arlington to get Sue's friend some mussels - they are sold on the wharf, the weather was not good, there was rain coming, but we saw a sailing ship at the end of the wharf so had a look we could have gone onto the ship but it was very rough and Sue gets seasick very easily. On the way home we stopped at the Big Banana - a tourist stop that is all about bananas!!! You can tour a banana growing area, but we just had a photo stop How is this for a bunch of bananas??
