My full title is Charlotte of the longears but friends are allowed to call me Charlotte.
And very good and beloved friends just call me Lotte I am a brave young noble hare bunny and I am an adventurous student of exchange. I like honesty, braveness and I hate it to be called as sweet and cute. Few people insist, I would be exalted and have a tendence to agression, but that is not true. I only prefer to have the first hit, but just to protect myself. I have always to take care of my mentor strunki and since the 26th January 2013 I am engaged with my lovely HelmutBluepant Please apologize that I am not able to travel in envelopes, because I decided only to travel first class with my private chauffeur strunki. My main profession ist to take care of her, because she sometimes gets in inner trouble with herself and as her professional and personal trainer it is my duty to show her the right way sometimes. My hobby is to entertain our guest-tv´s with my incredible adventures I experienced and how I survived dangerous and trickily situations. I have a very simple taste: Only the best for me and all I enjoy gardens, if they have enough gardeners. I like houses, if there is a housemaid. I like cars, if there is a driver for. I like all locations, if they have enough stuff. I do not like showers, I prefer a bath. Thank You for Your attention |

Today the great adventure on Tenerife begins:
Too early for me in the morning I had to wake up to get the airplane, Uhhhäää, I am sooo tired... But during the flight I became clearer and clearer, but Helmut had to give me support while using the paper bag... After the endless time of almost four hours we saw the beautiful island of Tenerife and landed there. What a paradise of colours, warmth, fragrances... Uhhh, I will love it |

Very lovely place where I can imagine myself a few hundered years ago as a noble senorita |

Today we visited Mirador Humboldt first, because when the weather is clear there, You have a beautiful view on the landscape of the valley of orotava. |
Strunki strunki1259@web.de Posted Mar 12, 2013, 6:56 pm |
Today we drove to the Capital City of Tenerife, to Santa Cruz de Tenerife.
In the Centre of the City You can find a beautiful park full of exotic plants and trees from all over the world and oftn You hear and watch wild living parrots there, e.g. rose-ringed parakeet [Psittacula krameri] and lories [Charmosyna palmarum], but they fly too fast for taking a picture. So we discovered the park and his fine corners and recreated at a fountain with a very popular statue of a woman. The citicens of St. Cruz love to saunter along there on sundays with their families. And in one of the ponds there we discovered a frog. |
Strunki strunki1259@web.de Posted Mar 18, 2013, 8:33 pm |
Today we went to Punta de Hidalgo, the Northern-East-Point of Tenerife.
And because the weather was so fine, we went to the coast and took a sun-bath. In th afternoon we enjoyed the delicious tarta de manzana (apple pie). ...And in the evening I had a sunburn...ouch... |

Today we visited a highlight of Tenerife: The Loro Parque.
Ohhh, I love this beautiful Zoo with lots of parrots, the Sealions, Dolphins and even Orcas. And only there you can visit the worlds largest Indoor-Penguin Hall. We had very impressive encounters with the confiding kakatoos and had fun to have conversations with the keas |

Today we went to the south of Tenerife, to a famous pilgrimage destination named Candelaria. It is a small town at the seaside with a huge cathedral where a black madonna is inside.
But we were more interested in the promenade, where are huge statues of the menecies, the chiefs of the native people of thenerife, the guanches. When the spanish soldiers discovered in the 14th century th islands to conquere the canaries, they exterminated the guanches |
Strunki strunki1259@web.de Posted Mar 27, 2013, 10:52 pm |
From Candelaria we drove further to the South, to the Pyramides of Güinmar. About 20 years ago the people there discovered fragment of ancient pyramides, estimated built by the guanches.
The norwegian anthropologist Thor Heyerdahl studied the place very intensively and spent some years on tenerife. There he founded the Ethnografical Park of the Pyramides of Güimar. |

Strunki strunki1259@web.de Posted Apr 6, 2013, 1:46 pm |
Today I introduced my guests to the rest of the plushie-gang.
All plushies from the cars, the house and even from work meet here sometimes to have a carousel-spin in our washing machine and they like it very much ...For me it is not necessary, because I did my secret bathing on my own... And it was a good opportunity for Soeren and Fabler Björn to meet and make frinds . We had a wonderful evening alltogether on the warming bank in the bathroom. |

Soeren and Fabler Björn did a very well job as cooks and I did, of course, the supervision And we had lot of work with but much more fun when we ate it. Well, I had a small kind of noodle-accident And it was sooo delicious, yum yum |

Suddenly there was an envelope on the garden-table and we could hardly read the letters on the envelope, except the adress of strunki. And there are beautiful post-stamps with wonderful flowers on the envelope and from inside the envelope we heard somebody asking for help. Together with the huge envelope we went inside the house and there came a nice young yellow frog from the far japan out: Matcha finally arrived safe and proper We all are glad to see him and loved him and his kind behaviour from the first sight. |

We hadn´t any plants with us for changing but we bought a lot, bugle (Günsel) [lat. Ajuga sp.], a three-coloured Hosta and much more But it started to rain and so we enjoyed the cacti in the warmhouse there and admired the huge tenerife bugloss (Natternkopf) [lat. Echium wildpretii] and other succulent plants. And we saw parts of a typical rural garden. A very nice place, the complete garden, but unfortnatuly the rain continued and so we had to leave. |

This was a terrible weekend, it rained all day from saturday afternoon to sunday evening so that we were not able to go out. Instead of having fun outdoor we slept the whole sunday and bored ourselves
But today in the afternoon the sun came out and strunki decided to finish work early and we went to the botanical garden in Wuppertal where the Elisentower stands. This is an old small tower from where you have a wonderful view about Elberfeld. Unfortenatuly it only opens at the weekend but it was nice to see and inside the garden they have a smaller miniature of it, used as a hostel for insects |

today we made a trip to the old town centre of Lennep. Nowadays Lennep belongs to Remscheid but in the older times it was an independent city on its own and even belonged to the Hanse in the late middle-age.
We saw some nice old half-timbered houses with black slated fronts and green shutters. And we found nice corners with flowers. After walking through the old town we visited the Röntgen-Museum. |
Strunki strunki1259@web.de Posted May 31, 2013, 10:39 pm |
There You can see me in front of the German Röntgen-Museum.
The famous physical scientist Wilhelm Conrad Röntgen was born in Lennep in 1845. He discovered (not in Lennep) the X-rays wich are helpful in medicine still today and for their discoverage he became the first physican who was honoured with the Nobel-Price in Physics. The museum shows how he lived and worked and how the early x-ray-radiography-instruments and machines worked. It was very interesting, but sometimes a little bit dark and spooky down in the cellar And even a plushie-bear was x-rayed...Perhaps a toy voyager, too? |

Hello World,
we are a little bit desperate about this terrible weather. It is June now and it seems to be similar as a day in November: cold, misty and windy Not the right weather to collect fresh strawberry from the fields So Lille, PinkyHH and me decided to "bake" a blueberry-cake with fresh cream cheese and I know that my dearest HelmutBluepant loves it, too First we wet the gelatine and seperated the blueberry-juice for heating them together. The blueberries we gave on small baked pastry cases. Even the right size for us little ladys, because we don´t want to get too fat After mixing the juice with the gelatine we mixed the cream cheese, and added the clotted cream. Then we poured it on the blueberries and decorated with some fresh ones. The cakes are for tomorrow and have to cool in the fridge, but they look soooo yummy, I hope we are able to wait until sunday |

Today we created a so called "fitness-day"
O.K., but what can we do on such a fitness-day? Oh Yes, we will start with a work-out So we change our colliers, wear sweat-ribbons and do some pushups, that looks very professional After the pushups we do some situps At least we do the very difficult exercise of an ear-stand and move our legs Woow, what a nice and fine workout But now we are very hungry What should we eat on a fitness-day? Oh Yes, only fresh and healthy stuff, not only the chocolates and sweets we like so much So we decided to fill some fresh sweet bell-paprika with a selfmade fresh-cheese-cream including some bear-garlic First we clean the bell-paprika and cut it Then we mix the fresh-chees wih the bear-garlic-pesto The cream we fill into the bells Here You can see the complete bell filled with the cream But for eating them it was easier to cut them in slices, looks even nicer Wooow, I was quite suprised how tasty such healthy fitness-food can be |

After picking the strawberries we visited the "Party of Roses" at the Botanical garden in Solingen
A lot of plants are blooming at the moment there I always wanted to have a blossom where i can sit in Look, even for the little ones is enough space, could be funny trying to sit together with Helmut in |
Strunki strunki1259@web.de Posted Jun 20, 2013, 3:58 pm |
Uuuhhh...what a hot day....my back got sooo hot that I had to stand on my ears to reduce the contacting surface...
PinkyHH had to give me support to hold my famous earstand... But then an envelope reached us...who could it be?? Hey, I can see Oink We helped him out of his envelope and hugged him for the welcome I asked him if he was hungry Oh yes..he was very hungry...poor boy Look at his bowl...when we started to eat, he had finished already... After our meal I showed him the fist pink flower in the garden |
Strunki strunki1259@web.de Posted Jun 20, 2013, 4:01 pm |
In the night we were allowed to watch a botanical sensation
My favourite "Queen of the night" was blooming only for a few hours in the night before it faded Hmm...I like the fragrance between vanilla and chocolate |

This evening PinkyHH and me had to day good bye to Lille
Altough we are very happy with her that she has the great chance to visit France, it isn´t so easy for us to part... But we all ensured each other to meet again, sometime, somewhere, somehow... Au revior, dearest Lille and let the little frenchs alive |
Strunki strunki1259@web.de Posted Jun 21, 2013, 6:07 pm |
The next farewell belonged to PinkyHH and isn´t much more easier than Lilles parting...
But instead of being sad that she will leave us we are very happy that she´s been here with us and that we had a lot of fun together, our girls-gang will never forget her and she will be a member as long as she wants Even Oink came out of sleep to wave her a good bye Good luck on your journey, dearest PinkyHH and have a nice and good time on Usedom ...Do You feel safe and comfort in Your travelling-envelope?... Have You enough to eat for the journey?... |

Hi World,
today I want You to show some highlights from my hometowns pedestrian zone, called Alleestreet. Let´start on the upper main place in front of the Allee Center. There is a fountain Nearby are some sculptures, little childeren to play on This is the statue of the "Tüpitter" a local original of Remscheid It is a symbol of the local newspaper and stands for being not afraid to report about things that move the region and speak in the local dialect. The complete meaning is in Original : "Nit te bang! Tü Pitter!" That means he should not be afraid to pull the big bell and alarm the people with it. We went on and found some nice old cars placed in the pedestrian zone. Here is an old Ford Here You have a nice restored race supporter This lorry was my favourite one guess why? This old samba bus was also very nice This weekend was a big event in the pedestrian zone where a lot of local restaurants placed mobile kitchens in tents to show their cooking repertiore That black cat I like Look at this funny statues In a street nearby the pedestrian zone we found a nice garden in front of a florist shop My ride on a lion This is also a nice and wise sentence OK, lets go on. I liked this poster in a shop window And now we are at a place called the Market, it´s the End of the pedestrian zone and You see the old city-church of Remscheid Look at the coloured and funny fountain In former times this should be used as a market-hall but now its a café in Here You have the view back to the Alleestreet On our way back we found this strange motor-bike and people told us, it would run...with sangria used as fuel... cool bull-bike for a bunny like me Well, lets walk back, strunki promised me a sweet surprise... And there we are A café called "Sahnetörtchen" It is the heaven of plushie-cakes And this nice guy is a very friendly one Look at our nice cakes we found I had a mousse au chocolate, that´s my favourite one But I would like to come back to this nice an yummy cake-place Well, that´s it for today, folks, pleased to see You again |

today we visited the park with wild forest animals in Grafenberg First I had to study the map where to find what kind of deer The first animal I found was a mixture between a bear and an otter, what do You think, it could be? Here I saw some red deer This was the plain where the fallow deer lives and where You can watch them without any fence between the visitors and the deer Look at the nice spring And here are them, the fallow deer Further on we found a rascal And here we met some wild relatives of Oink she wanted to see But the most I liked was riding on ths wooden one That´s it for today, folks Pleasure to see You again watching my tl |

So, for this great day tomorrow I wil try to cook a lentil stew, his favourite meal and Oink helps me She has to try and taste But what´s wrong with her? Didn´t taste it?? Are You o.k., Oink?? Is the stew sooo bad that it hits You down?? But Oink only jokes me She ensured me that it would be the best lentil stew she ever tasted And, of course You know, a stew has to stand for one day and night, on the second day it tastes much better |

Today we went to an old but interesting place in Remscheid: The Steffenshammer, a very old smithy that is now a little Museum and still funcionable today and shows the visitor, how the people in the Bergisch Land formed irontools with using water as energy.
The place is called Clemenshammer, but the old smithy is called Steffenshammer Behind me You can see a huge wheel for transmission This is the entrance to the little half-timbered house and until the 1930s a widow with 6 children lived. The house is very very small, you can see it at the windows. This is the entrance Behind me are the narrow stairs up to the first floor but this is closed for public Here in the main room the association that promotes the Clemenshammer, shows what tools the smithy produced in the old times and wich tools they needed and how hard and difficult the circumstances of living and working were in the so called "good old times"... And this is the smithy itself Lets have a look inside Here I am on a funny chair, it hangs from the ceiling. That has the reason that the smith can move for and back when the iron gets longer and longer during the process of smithering There You can see the hammer powerd by waterenergie and the anvil, where the sun shines through. It was very dark there, only the light from outside and the fire in the oven lightend the room Lets have a look outside again and see how the water turns the huge wheel Uhhhuuhhh I was not amused about the cold water that sprinkled me wet but is was very powerful, what an energy, what a noise it makes... In the garden was a small summer-party and they showed how to smith And it was funny to see how the wafels will be baked here Hmm, yummie, of course we had one Helmut and me let a balloon into freedom First we wirte a postcard with our name and adress on Then the nice lady helped us to fix the postcard at the balloon And then....set Your Toys...ähh..sorry...Balloons free Oink and TobiHH won a little sheep that was happy to join out troops And a dixie-band played nice music I was asked to take care of the huge tuba that nobody damages it Nice summerparty and we recreated a little moment sitting on this bank Then we were invited to visit an astonishing park: The "Unicat of Gardens" What a nice and interesting place this was The last for today shows a typical Bergisch House with ist green shutters Ähh..By the way, Helmut..its for sale...wouldn´t You like the idea of living there?? |

Hi world,
I am not sure if You are know that today is the oficcally "Day of the Kiss"? For me reason enough to let me be invited by Helmut having a very special romantic dinner together on this hot summer evening To drink we had Hugo with...Strawberry And the first course started with a heart of tomato-mozzarella That refreshes for the beginning Our main course was a rissole-cheese-tower topped with a carrot and escorted by filled bell-chillies with hot mango-chilli-cream in heart-shape on salted crackers "...Helmut...aren´t You sated? You squint on my plate a very long time?" "Oh nonono, it was quite enough...(gulp) I only admired Your fluffy earfur" Time for saying cheers "And what about a ...?", he asked me "Yes?...A kiss?", I asked back "Lotte, I want to ask You about..ähh..what is Your opinion to... " (Uiuiuiui...maybe he makes me a wedding proposal??)..."Yes, Helmut, what do You want to ask me?" "Öööhhhm..what about the dessert?"" "....What?????...of course, the dessert....certainly.... The dessert: Two dark and white mousse au cocolat-hearts "One spoon for me" "And one spoon for You" "Woooow" that was very delicious, but now let´s see the stars in the sky" "Can´t be shine like Your eyes tonight" To be continued, but not for public |

Today was a fine and sunny day and we went to the Gruga-Park in Essen
With about 65ha is the Gruga one of the largest Parks in Germany Look at the fantastic four fountains Here are the first views into the landscape of the park And everywhere you find some more or less nice sculptures Everywhere are nice and coloured flowers in large flowerbeds Helmut and me liked the water lilies From a bridge You can see the "Hundertwasserhouse" It is in the area of the park but not open for public, because its a temporary home for children who are very ill to recreate here together with their parents Now we come nearer to the tropical houses Look at the nice Agapanthus And the Angel trumpet (Brugmansia or Datura) is even huge In the cactus-hall A golden barrel cactus (Echinocactus grusonii). Some people call it also "seat of mother in law" And this drago reminds us at tenerife Now we change to the bonsai area And here is the best: the view from the Gruga-Tower Don´t forget, we are still in the middle of a City in the Ruhr-Area, Essen That was the trip for today with our guests TobiHH and Oink |

Then we passed the Channel that connects the Northern and the Baltic sea Now its not so far anymore and the rest of the way is done very fast This windmill looks great |

Today the weather was not as sunny as the days before, the people told us...
So Helmut has to wait until he can put his shovel into the sand... But we spent a nice day at the harbour of Büsum and saw a lot of ships Most of them are shrimp boats, because Büsum is famous for shrimpfishing but some other nice ships are here as well in the old harbour part Here is a ship at the wharf Nice to see people working when you are on holiday But we didn´t only see ships there This is an old light-fire And here are some tons and nets from older times And here You can see the modern lighthouse of Büsum In the centre a nice clock And a train for tourists Some ships came in and some came out of the harbour But we also saw some animals, can You see the little hatchlings of the black-headed gull [Larus ridibundus]? Then we drove bicycle and bought some shrimps Here with the cute boy Mefito What a nice first full day |
Strunki strunki1259@web.de Posted Jul 14, 2013, 5:38 am |
Today we spent the complete day on the beach of Büsum: The new Pearl Lagoon. Altough heaven was very cloudy, it wasn´t very cold...until the wind came...
There is a dam in the middle where You can walk on to the sandy beach This is the view from the other side A lot of colurful tents with shops are there The first we did was playing in the sand Helmut with his shovel filled a bucket with sand together with TobiHH There we built a little castle of sand He is sooo happy about his blue shovel from RikeH and Dicker Kumpel Then we had fun on the water Well, me not really, my top of my left longear became wet... After Swimming we chilled in a huge circle swing That was a lot of fun for us all In the afternoon we heard a shanty choire singing Helmut an me knew most of the songs and we sang the whole time. Together with Helmut I swayed to the music That was it for today, tomorrow we plan to drive to Friederchskoog and want to visit the seal-station |
Strunki strunki1259@web.de Posted Jul 15, 2013, 8:10 pm |
Today we visited the Sealstation in Friedrichskoog, founded in the early 80thies to hatch baby seals lost their mothers
There is a large tower to climb on and You have a wonderful view all over the landscape At first we learned the difference between a common seal or harbour seal and a grey seal Then we climbed on the tower to have a first view from above There You can see a building formed as a whale, it´s an indoor-playground for children In the pools are a lot of small baby seals to hatch They have been found on the beaches at the northern sea without their mothers and brought here to take care of them until they are old enough But You can also watch adult seals. The huge dark one is a grey seal and this is a harbour seal They are not able to live on their own because they were ill as babys Can You see me on the largest seal I have ever seen? Here I am with a real seal At the end alltogether we donated an amount for the station What a nice and informative place |
Strunki strunki1259@web.de Posted Jul 15, 2013, 9:17 pm |
In the afternoon we vistited Meldorf, a very old town with an impressive dome, almost a cathedral.
The first we did was drinking koffee at the nice "Dome-Café" at the market, it was a very good advice by mcdaniels who knows the place very well, and, Meldorf is also the birthplace of Soeren, her funny elk. See us plushies having coffee, strawberry-cake and a huge portion of curd with honey and crunchies Then we saw some nice old houses there around the market The dome was still open in the afternoon So we went into the dome and saw the impressive interiour there Light was a little bit difficult, Strunki apologizes for that Before we went home we saw this nice blooming rosebush at a house I loved it to take a bath in theese wonderful roses That was a nice sunday here in the North |
Strunki strunki1259@web.de Posted Jul 17, 2013, 6:34 am |
Today we drove to the Eidersperrwerk, that is a huge protection building against storm tides and connects Dithmarschen in the south and Eiderstedt in the north
It was built between 1967 and 1973 and has its 40th anniversary this year It is almost 250m long and about 15m high There You can see the huge double portals to close or to open up and down Here we are on the top, you can walk above and the cars drive under the way There is a bridge that can be opened for ships From the top You have a beautiful view on the river Eider But we want to go on by car and so we drove the tunnel That was exciting! |
Strunki strunki1259@web.de Posted Jul 17, 2013, 11:43 am |
After the Eidersperrwerk we drove on to St.-Peter-Ording
In the old village are nice houses with beautiful gardens Strunki promised us that there is also a large beach with a lot of sand where we can build sandcastles Such a castle we want to build O.K., let´s drive to the beach Well, not only TO the beach but ON the beach itsself This place is the only one in Germany where You are allowed to drive on the beach by car, its unique... I had to take care that the plushies dig a moat around our castle I must admit, it hasn´t the same size of the sandcastle we saw in the village but we had a lot of fun building it After so much work we had to recreate in the beachchair Then we found a kite It was complete and so we started kiting After kiting and so much activities on the beach we had to chill out again in a lounge at one of the famous stilt houses What a great place (when the sun shines...) |
Strunki strunki1259@web.de Posted Jul 17, 2013, 11:54 am |

Here are some first impressions from the market place and the dutch facades Here is one of the canals with nice bridges Everywhere You find nice portals and rosebushes at the housefronts The people even have flowers planted in their boats... Then we had the idea to make a guided roundtrip through the canals by boat That was a great fun to see the town from the waterside I like this bridge in dutch style Now we are on the river Treene A great day with much to see |
Strunki strunki1259@web.de Posted Jul 19, 2013, 6:12 am |
Today we made a walk across the mudflats and saw some interesting things
At first we noticed the sign that You have to be careful because of the tide Then we started our walk and found our first shell Helmut put it into his bucket Then we walked further on and found some more interesting habitants of the mudflat O.K., this is not a lugworm [Arenicola marina] itself but the little hills he makes when the water is not there But it looks very interesting The next we found was seaweed or little kelp And here are some very very very small edible crabs, in German it is called Taschenkrebs [Cancer pagurus] Here is a bigger one Some different seaweed And here is a jellyfish Here are some more different shells The nice guide digged a bit and in the mud we found this interesting worm This is a clam worm, in German Borstenwurm [Nereis sp.] But here is the real lugworm [Arenicola marina] It tries to dig itself back into the mud, it doesn´t like the sun Then the hightide came back and we finished our mudflat-walk And came back safe to the point we started What an interesting day That´s it for today |
Strunki strunki1259@web.de Posted Jul 19, 2013, 10:06 pm |

In a small park sat this kind person, it is the statue of Neocorus, he was one of the first pastors of Büsum and wrote a Chronicle about the Dithmarschen We went inside and found a very nice and interesting interiour What an impressive pulpit Wonderful old curchwindows and the altar And a ship from the ceiling Outside we found this nice building, the old mailstation There we had typical tea with milk and rock candy On our way to the promenade we found this thatched-roof house Its very new builded At the promenade waited a suprise: They rebuild the dykes and the old beach is closed at this season O.K., let´s see what we will find in Heide |
Strunki strunki1259@web.de Posted Jul 20, 2013, 8:37 pm |

Hi World,
today we made a little walk through the pedestrian zone of Wuppertal-Barmen Here we start at the beginning. Behind me You can see a station in old style of the suspension railway (Schwebebahn), but in the holidays it doesn´t drive, because of the huge renovation that lasts almost 10 years for the whole railway... One of the nicer pre-war buildings there. A lot of houses were destroyed in WWII and the houses they built up after it, are only functional, but not very nice... This is the formerly "Hall of fame" , built at the end of the 19th. century. Now its "the house of the youth" and sometimes bands playing there. Here we play with 3 huge bronce turtles. They have their home in the pedestrian zone and are very popular, almost by the kids who want to sit on them. This is the town-hall of barmen, built in the late 20ths of the 20th century And bronce-animals again, but much older, here as colums of large lanterns Here we sit on the basic of one of them And we met "Tuffi" He is very famous here, in the 50ths he jumped out of the suspension railway and fell into the Wupper. Nothing seriously happend to him That was our little walk Love and hugs to all of You See You Yours Charlotte |

Mefito did it also very well We choose Gozer as the winner, he did it in a very accurate manner Then suddenly an envelope arrived us We expect Laika, who was sent by mcdaniels Helmut cut the envelope very carefully with his garden shears We heard a thin voice tellling us, that her name is Laika What a cute and friendly looking doggie Then she came out of her envelope And we gave her a warm welcome and hugged her And she showed us the postcard Mefitos Mum wrote Then we sat together, enjoying the yummy gumbears mcdaniels gave Laika with her for us And we had a nice evening with listening to Laikas adventures Mefito was asking her a lot about his home and she told him that almost is all right at home What a wonderful meeting with the little Laika Yours Charlotte |

Hi World,
today we went to Wuppertal and visited the Botanical Garden there Today and on Sunday they celebrate a colourful summer fair around the Elisentower And this is the Elisentower itsself Formerly built as a windmill in the 18th century, a rich industrial magnate bought the area around the mill and built up his villa there in the 19th century. And he upsized the windmill tower to have a better view on the landscape of the valley of the river Wupper. First we started our tour and looked at the booths with handcrafted objects Then we visited the botanical garden itself Here parts of the old villa used as orangerie Look at the wonderful Lotos flower Here are some more impressions of the garden One of the two ponds with nice water lilies Here You can see the tower again Even bananas they have in the warmhouse Here You can see the tower again And here I am on the tower O.K. this is not the real tower, but a good size for us plushies Now we are in the real tower What a nice wooden ornament on the floor Look at the nice ornaments under the ceiling Today this room is used for marriage ceremonies So let´s see what us expect outside Now we are on the top of the Elisentower, enjoying the landscape of Wuppertal and the fair in the garden On our way downstairs we learned some more about the 200 year old area of the Hardt What a fine day here we spent That´s it for today, see You soon Yours Charlotte |

I don´t want to talk about, what he has done... Hello world,
today we made a trip into prehistoric times and went to a famous place near Düsseldorf called Neandertal. There for about more than 150 years Dr. Carl Fuhlrott found relicts of a prehistoric human and he called him "Neanderthaler" Here he welcomes us very friendly A small scene how they perhaps lived? But let´s see what we can learn from the prehistoric humans outside Here a reconstruction of an oven from the late stone age Interesting tools for hunting and fishing The huge skull of a prehistoric aurochs Small talk between plushie to plushie Interesting, how a prehistoric drill works And what for nice artefacts the prehistoric people had And small talk with an impressive felt-mammoth An instrument called "atlatl", or spear thrower It helps to throw the spear about a longer distance What an informative and interesting day but now we all are tired That´s it for today See You soon Yours Charlotte |

Dear mum,
after talking the whole night we fell asleep in the morning... Some hours later I woke up and had a great idea: Listen", I said, "let's make hostmum happy and clean up the kitchen before she'll come home from work." The others agreed to this suggestion and so I added a little detail: "You'll clean up and I'll look after you." They looked at each other and I was sure they'll start in a minute but guess what, they said NO! For a few seconds I considered exploding but then I decided to accept their majority without showing my disappointment about Helmut not being loyal towards me...and so we all worked together but I'm sure my next opportunity will arise. After hard work Nick the bear showed us a very nice card game: 'everybody wants Stinky'. You have to collect pairs of cards (hares for example ) and the one who has got the skunk at last is the winner. Of course after the desaster with the cleaning I hoped to win but Helmut of all people won...sometimes life is unfair, mummy... Love you yours Charlotte |

Dear mummy,
you never guess what: yesterday evening hostmum and hostdad went to the choir rehearsal and I (AND NOBODY ELSE) escorted them I think hostmum wanted to cheer me up after my shattering defeat in order to prevent a depression or something like that ... Very considerate. We rehearsed a motet and parts of the Christmas Oratorio of Bach and the whole choir enjoyed my wonderful alto After that we went into the local of hostparents and their friends and for the whole evening I was the centre and was carried on hands as you can see...fantastic! Thank you for this wonderful evening, I think in return for it I'll behave the next time Yours Charlotte |

Dear mummy,
while hostmum and hostdad were working today we explored their flat. First we got to know the very old dog lady Trixi. Nice to meet you! Trixi was followed by a purple sheep and Brother Jacob, a kind monk. After visiting the orchids we discovered the best: a piano, a trumpet and a guitar Of course we decided to become a septet! First each of us tried each instrument and soon the several talents came to light. And now have a look at the world's best septet ! |

Dear mummy,
today morning we visited Bad Lippspringe, a spa near Paderborn. We drove by car and as you can see on the photos Helmut, Mefito and *Nick* behaved like being alone in the world cause Nick became a TV today and they are the best friends and see nothing (and nobody ) else... I hope they'll become normal again the next time. In Bad Lippspringe there are five sources: Lippe, Jordan, Arminius, Liborius and Martinus and the water you can get from some of them is very good drinking water. There are two spa gardens, an older one and a newer on. On the photo you can see a part of the older one with many old and some young trees. We visited also the ruin of a very old castle standing in the centre of Bad Lippspringe and the church St. Martin. In a bookshop we found many many plushie-postcards and I chose a very nice one I'll send to you! See you yours Charlotte |

in the morning I wrote my postcard to you. Hope it'll arrive soon! And then Helmut and me escorted hostmum to work. She works as a social worker in an old people's home. We started in Neuenbeken, hostmum's homevillage as you know. On our way to Paderborn city we met the autumn... And after 8 kilometres we reached the old people's home from the back. Today hostmum played bingo together with the old people and of course we joined in And look what we wrote for you when we were alone in the social worker's office All the best yours Charlotte |

mcdaniels Posted Sep 29, 2013, 12:41 pm |
Dear mum,
today our North Sea-trip has begun! In the early morning we took our places in the car and Most of the time we drove on motorways but together with HelmutBluepant, Mefito, *Nick*, The WotWots, UrselHH and Sargent Froggo it wasn't boring at all. After a few hours we crossed Hamburg and drove through a long tunnel underneath river Elbe. A further hour later we crossed the Kiel Canal. The typical landscape we could see outside the car showed us that we were already at our's destination. And so it was. A few minutes later we reached a nice sofa in our holiday home in Friedrichskoog All the best yours Charlotte |
mcdaniels Posted Sep 30, 2013, 2:03 pm |
Dear mum,
What we did first on our first day: we borrowed a TV-suitable bike for reaching all sights and places in Friedrichskoog. Today we drove to the 'Trischendamm', a dam that streches 2 km into the North Sea. On our way to the dam we saw a sign that confirmed us to prefer driving by bike and not by car...driving by car seems to be very dangerous in this region On the Trischendamm we walked up to the end and stood so to speak in the middle of the North Sea. On the horizon we could see the skyline of Büsum. It was a windy day so we had to pay attention not to fly away... Back at the dyke we took a rest in a nice wicker beach. On our way back home we bought some jam standing at the roadside. There were no seller but only a box to put in the money. See you yours Charlotte |
mcdaniels Posted Sep 30, 2013, 9:41 pm |
Dear mum,
in the morning we unfolded Helmut's and my magic towels. We had to put them into water and waited some seconds...and then two very nice towels came to light We all hoped that the sun will shine the next time so that we could use them all together... |
mcdaniels Posted Oct 1, 2013, 3:35 pm |
In the afternoon we wanted to visit Friedrichskoog's little lighthouse. A narrow dam leads to the lighthouse. On our way we saw a nice red fishing cutter, the typical ship in this region.
After half the distance we took a rest. Looking back we could see the tower standing in the seal station we visited in July together with you, mummy. Cause it was high tide the dam was overflowed at it's end so we unfortunately couldn't reach the lighthouse and had to turn back. Perhaps we'll try again at low tide. Back at the dyke we found a big stone with an inscription: at this place runs the 54th northern latitude. Helmut and me visited the little shop at the seal station and bought some souvenirs...it's a nice maritim necklace, isn't it? Yours Charlotte |
mcdaniels Posted Oct 2, 2013, 11:21 am |
Dear mum,
today morning we visited the old windmill in which hostmum and hostdad married a few years ago. If my Helmut and me will marry one day perhaps we'll do it here Yours Charlotte |

Dear mum,
today morning it was raining so *Nick* read a book to us. In the afternoon the weather was much better so we drove to Meldorf, a little nice town near Friedrichskoog we visited together with you this summer. First we visited the great cathedral built up in the 13th century. And then hostmum showed us the market square with her favourite café, of course we went in...very good, do you remember? After that we saw the book shop our very good friend Soeren came from Somebody had an old anchor in his garden and of course we wanted to sit on it... Yours Charlotte |
mcdaniels Posted Oct 2, 2013, 9:38 pm |
Mum, this region is the hare-paradise!
Millions of white cabbage, carrots and turnips... You can't imagine... Yours overjoyed Charlotte |
mcdaniels Posted Oct 3, 2013, 10:38 am |
Dear mum,
cause it was raining again we had time to sit in a nice café and to explore the interior furnishings after eating and drinking. There were very interesting things in plushie-size, so we played seafarer (I was the kidnapped princess in the hands of pirates!) and lighthouse attendent...fantastic! And we had time to write a postcard to you Yours Charlotte |
mcdaniels Posted Oct 3, 2013, 5:55 pm |
Today the weather was very good, so in the morning we walked on the Trischendamm at low tide for picking shells.
After picking some we took arest on the big stones. On our way back we had a great sight of the mud flats. Back at the dyke Helmut Bluepant and me took a rest on our new towels for the first time And we met 'Fritze', a very big mud flats worm and then we played on a nice boat and took another rest on deck. In the afternoon we went into another nice café...hostparents love cafés as you can see... |
mcdaniels Posted Oct 4, 2013, 12:53 pm |
Dear mum,
today morning we tried to reach the little lighthouse again, this time at low tide. But first I wanted to visit my sister-in-law who lives here at the dyke. My brother unfortunately is in prison (and I don't want to tell the others why) as I told a few weeks ago. And so I went alone into the rabbit burrow (my brother had married a rabbit as you can see) and the others had to wait outside while I was talking with my sister-in-law in the darkness of the burrow. After a while I went back, hugged HelmutBluepant but I didn't want to say anything about my visit. So we started to the lighthouse and reached it. Before going back we took a long rest sitting there and talking about life... Yours Charlotte |

mcdaniels Posted Oct 6, 2013, 12:17 pm |
Dear mum,
today we made a sightseeing tour through Paderborn city. We started with a great breakfast in the café of hostmum's friend. Then we visited the cathedral. The first local missionary church was built up in the year 777. The new building of the cathedral took place in 799. As it stands today, the cathedral was erected between 1215-1280. Following the destructions it suffered during the Second World War it was rebuilt to its original design with a few minor alterations. Of course we visited the 'hare window' in the inner courtyard of the cathedral: three hares with only three ears but every hare has got two ears Foundations of the Carolingian and Ottonian-Salic imperial palaces were exposed from 1964 until the late seventies. The Ottonian-Salic Palace was reconstructed between 1976 and 1978 in accordance with a plan made by an architect. The original building construction with its rising brickwork is clearly identifiable. Then we visited the market square with the Neptun-fountain and the townhall. After that we visited river Pader, Germany's shortest river (only 4 km) but 200 springs inside the city and a big frog At the end of the Second World War Paderborn was almost totally destroyed, only a few houses 'survived'. The photos show the oldest house (built up in 1560) and a few other half-timbered houses. Finally we went into a gummi bears shop for buying a present for you and olgamaus we'll both see on Saturday See you soon yours Charlotte |

Hello World,
today we made a little trip around and under the Müngstener Brücke, the oldest and highest Railwaybridge in Germany. Here we start over a small bridge over the Wupper and You can see the Diederichstempel Here You have the first impression of this huge building We found one in plushie-size, the complete area of the Wupper-valley around the bridge on an bronce-table Here we are directly under the construction, it is soo huge and impressive... That stone remembers, how old the bridge is.... The German emperor Kaiser Wilhelm visited Müngsten in 1899 Here is a good view But now we left the bridge behind us for taking a walk through the nice autum forest on the footpath next to the Wupper Here I found a fly agaric [Amanita muscaria] ... And no, Helmut, we will NOT try to taste it like the Wikings did in early days!!! Here at this interesting stone with handprints carved in we rested and met the guests of olgamaus, Tsukumo, KoalaMimi, Rocky Raccoon and her newest guest, RSG Leo Here we are at the place called Wiesenkotten. There is a bridge and we change the riverside There we hiked on the way back and came to this beautyful landscape A few meters away we are under the bridge again, only much more higher and on the other side Now we reach the Diederichstempel And have the last nice view on the bridge from there before we enjoyed the hospitality of olgamaus with koffee and the typical Bergisch rusk That´s it for today, world Yours Charlotte |

Hello World,
today was a typical autum day here: Ist was very cold, sometimes windy and for a few moments we saw the sun And we went to an orchard festival at Stiftung Tannenhof At the entrance we saw the biggest apple of our life And behind the entrance we were expected by some bronce statues The next surprise was an nice old red tractor and we were invited to drive onto a trailer behind the tractor to have a first roundtrip on the huge area of the older parts of Tannenhof ...Nooo, this seat is too unsecure.... not even a safety belt... Better sitting here... I was glad when the machine stopped, it was too low-speeded for me....booooring.... Our next station was a tent with some very different apples All looked soo yummy Behind us You can see two huge manual cider presses for apple juice Here are impressions of the festival and the orchard itsself See us sitting on a warm and soft sheepskin and carving the pumpkin was a lot of fun but we liked the soup as well And we love sitting under the spindle tree [Euonymus europaeus] funny was the distorting mirror What a full day and we were happy having the oppurtunity to chill out in the nice seat zone What a great day, even when it was cold.... That´s it for today, World See and love You Yours Lotte |

Thanks *Nick*, he bought a special sample ticket for us plushies Then we enjoyed our ride on the tram The next nice suprise was meeting Frederik in the tram What a cool trip This was our trip in Kohlfurth, tbc at the Arboretum in Cronenberg... |

after a short drive we reached the Arboretum Burgholz, an forestal area with lots of trees from all over the world, similar to a botanical garden, but much more larger
Here we found a nice blooming spindle tree [Euonymus europaeus] This is the beginning of of the main path From this point You have a beautiful view on the landscape Here we made a short break After a while enjoying the landscape we went on deeper into the forest and saw a lot of sequoia trees See me playing in the tree Later on the ground we found a lot of mushrooms, but we know too less about them, but some look very yummy Perhaps we should ask HoBi, wich are eatable At last we admired the giant sequoia trees, they are still very young there in the arboretum, but very huge That was it for the weekend, see You soon and love You, world Yours Charlotte |

Hi world,
today its almost a nice autumnday and olgamaus invited us to accompany her and her guests Kirin, Rocky Raccoon and Frederik to a little trip in and around Hasten Here You see the most significant Building near to the main place, a house with a round tower We start in Büchel, where a lot of old and typical Bergisch half-timbered houses with slate fronts and green shutters are It´s a very quiet and peaceful area here where You also can find some nice details at the houses Look at this paintings in the backround In the near we met a cat some cool pumpkins and a dog After a while walking down to the valley of the Morsbach we reached Clemenshammer, but we didn´t stay there Following the small river Morsbach, we found this huge rock with a nice poem carved in Can You read it? " A little shower only She lured him under the umbrella tears of joy" Then, after reaching a place called Gerstau, we met some friendly sheep And came back into the forest again Here we learned from a sign, that this place was used in older times to guard sheep and that the people used the forest to burn charcoal a meadow with some more sheep and a horse Coming out of the forest we saw an old smithy Here we are at a small hammer-lake A really nice small house again And here I am in front of the \"Haus Cleff\", a part of the Historical Centre What a nice walk for today Love and kiss You world Yours Charlotte |

today we made a short trip around Burg Castle again, because Helmut wanted to test his new cam, so thats the reason why he isn´t seen on the most pictures actually and why we don´t have so many photos as usually, because he didn´t manage the cam very well Only two pictures with my friends on the seat of the ropeway were o.k. He donates me a rose Again at last a man who knows how to treat a real lady He must be frozen, this poor boy Here´s my fur for wintertime And something more to heat him up: A honeydrink I think, he likes it That was it for today, World, see You soon and love You Yours Lotte |

Hello World,
today it was almost sunny in the morning so we decided to drive to Wuppertal and visited the "Northern Park" Nordpark there The foothpaths are very comfortable there Before we went into the forest, we enjoyed the view on Barmen And found a nice monument, used as a spring in the summer Look at the carved stone, a frog perhaps? We also passed a popular restaurant destination, but the renovations take some years, strunki told us O.K., instead of having a stop there, we discovered the forest and found nice autum colours Along our way we saw lots of beeches and yews And found some nice treestumps where we played a little bit At last, who else? me... I like playing in the trees so we continued our walk and wanted to visit the fallow deer in the game enclosure We had to go deeper into the forest And found first? some last blooming daisy Will we watch the deer from here? Yes, here they are What a nice sunday noon walk That was is for today Love and kisses Your Charlotte |

Look at the wonderful autum colours A woodshelter formed as a fungus, that´s nice An alley of larch [Larix] Even the ground is yellow because the larch is the only coniferous species that looses its needle-leafs in autum See us having a rest and playing between the nice coloured leafs Finally, we reached the river banks a little bit foggy But finally it was a very nice trip with our friends That´s it for today, dear world Yours Lotte |

Hi World,
today we did something for our feathered friends, the birds staying outside in wintertime See *Nick* with the raisins, Helmut and me with the vegetable fat, UrselHH with the oat flakes, Hase and Störte with the grain feed These are old plantingpots with a stick in the middle and we want to melt the fat and mix all our ingriediences together to fill them. So let´s start with us melting the fat in a huge panpot That takes some time to heat the fat Really some time... After a while the fat began to melt See Helmut stiring in the pot *Nick* and me supervise Ursel stiring the oat flakes into the fat Ursel is a tough mouse girl and doesn´t need any support she ensures to us After mixing the seed, the oat flakes and the raisins, and stiring the mixture by *Nick*, the feeding is ready for the old little pots See me filling the pot Ready When the fat cools out and becomes hard, You can turn around the pots and hang them into the trees so the birds can pick out the seeds, the oat flakes and the raisins in wintertime That´s it for today Yours Lotte |

Hello world,
this afternoon we went on the little christmas market in Barmen Hase and me liked this train a lot, but we didn´t find nice gifts there Strunki told us not to worry about, there a a few days left and so we played in the colourful little christmas tree in her office In the evening we went to a christmas party of the aquarist society gatw Wuppertal Lots of yummy eating we had there Here we check the winnings donated by the members for the tombola Next to us the members have already bought their lottery tickets The rules are easy and very fair: There are two identical sheet calendars, one sheet for each day. From the one calendar You buy day-sheets, each one costs one EUR. From the second calender the same days You bought were sampled in the lottery wheel. That means that there aren´t any blanks and each lottery ticket has the chance to win. the first winner is allowed to chose one of the winnings on the table what he wants to have and so on until all prizes are raffled And guess what? We won something! Look , the 8th of June was taken out of the lottery wheel and we have this sheet The next winnings came a few moments later Hmmm, blackberry liqueur And we won a third time: home made elderberry jelly What a nice and lucky evening, we have a lot of fun there That´s all for today, See and love You Yours Lotte |

today we made a short trip around the Müngsten Bridge again, because the weather ist quite open and the temperatures are still o.k. We start at the confluence of the stream Morsbach and the river Wupper from the right You see the Morsbach and behind me the bigger one is the Wupper From the bridge over the Wupper You have a first view to the Diederichstemple This place we want to visit first But first we wanted to ask the puddle-oracle O.K., the oracle says that it isn´t frosty, not dry, but not too wet for a little hiking trip So we started hiking. It was a little bit tedious uphill, but we did it See me starting now Then we arrived our first target: The place from where You can see the Müngstener Brücke The view from the Diederichstemple Look at this huge Müngsten Brigde from there After a while hiking downhill, we came to this strange sculptures... And we asked us, what this could be? Some of us voted for some birdhouses and some think, it could be a special ToyVoyager playground... Finally, we decided, that it must be a playground Then we passed a little river-island in the Wupper And learned some interesting details about the fauna and flora in and around the Wupper here Finally we reached our last target: The Müngsten Brigde And here our tour ended Love You, World, Yours Lotte |

the last days we were very verly lazy, enjoyed the christmas mood, hanged around, ate too much and so on But this sunday afternoon the weather was already good enough meeting olgamaus and her crew to show them some nice views on Wuppertal Here we stand on the south side and have a view over Barmen to the North And here I am again in the Nordpark, wich we have visited a few weeks ago Very happy, that the sun already shines for a moment And here we have the view over Barmen from the other side to the south hills It is not as clear as it seems to be At least we had a rest on this fresh logged beech, perhaps it felt down by the last storm here a fortnight ago? After a short while walking we reach a point, where a bridge leads over the tiger-area in the zoo Look at the funny sign there We had luck with the weather and enjoyed our walk Here we pass the point where Burgholztunnel starts, the tunnel connects the west of Wuppertal with the south and is almost 1.900 Meters long Here Hase, UrselHH and me learned about the history of the Burgholz The way further on we passed the point in the near of the Kaisereiche , but we didn´t visit the oak, because later in the afternoon the light became darker and our way was still long See me studying the sign about the place And here finally we pass the small old trainstop Burgholz, now there is a little tavern That was only a part of our tour today, but the later the afternoon was, the darker it became and we were glad to reach the car again See You soon and love You Yours Charlotte |

Hi World,
today we visited the Flora and Botanical Garden in Cologne The weather was very sunny and fine there, with temperatures almost usual in springtime Look at the nice terrace-spring, but in wintertime there´s no water floating The German emperess Augusta was patroness of the Flora First I found a huge solitaire sequoia tree Next we talked to this nice, friendly lady and her deer Then I saw a first suprise: a blooming tree at middle january! And here a nice example for a small garden and a still smaller garden house It´s a snowball-tree (viburnum) And look at the rare green-yellow striped moundlily yucca (Yucca gloriosa) There we played for some time enjoying the warm sun And see me here in front of the pampas grass in the near of a nice lake Here another two impressions of the park-landscape of the Botanical Garden This is very unique in Germany An allèe only with palms This was the second suprise for us See me with a nice christmas rose (helleborus niger) But this was the main reason for us visiting the Flora in this January The camellia-show in one warmhouse Some of the early camellia (Camellia japonica) are blooming yet This nice statue we like, but it has a sad name: dying amazone It remembers us, that all beauty has to go sometime... And more beautiful blossoms, but sorry, I wasn´t able to remember them all in detail Inbetween all this camellia-blossoms I found a very interesting other plant that I hope to meet in a few weeks on Tenerife Can You read the sign? It is the Canary (Island) bellflower Here we made a first rest and enjoyed the beautiful varieties of the camellia flowers But we also found other nice flowers See me with Hase and UrselHH And see the giant groundsel (Senecio grandiflorus) And here we have the Chilean bellflower (Lapageria rosea) Another nice station with other camellia-varieties What a wonderful place This blossom I like most And even outside the warmhouse we find some blooming and frostresistant camellias What a wonderful nice day we had See and Love You all Yours Lotte |

Hello world,
today the weather was so fine and sunny altough it is mid-january, we decided to play a little bit in the garden We started in the flower box and enjoyed the purple primeroses See me with UrselHH and *Nick* After a while I wanted to see what´s going on in the garden Well, the garden looks very messy... So I decided to help strunki a little bit with cleaning up the most with old leafs covered spots that the earth gets more light and is able to respire much better First I cut down the old faded twigs from the last year with the gardenshears Next step was raking the foliage Really hard work but it must be when You want to have it tidy And look what grows under all these leafs: first stems of snowbells and the first little rosettes of the sedum Finally I had to put the foliage into the barrel for bringing it to the composter ooooooops Why the hell this always only happen to me??? PLEASE HELP ME!!!!! graceful I shin up to the edge What a stultifying end of the afternoon That´s all for today See and love You Yours Lotte |

Hello world,
because last week we felt so nice in Cologne , we wanted to come back to the city again for visiting the huge Dome today. See the imposant skyline from the other side of the rhine So we started and went over the Hohenzollernbridge In the middle of the bridge a huge rhine-freighter passed under us On the fence that separates the footpath from the railway I found a lot of padlocks, fixed by couples who carved their names on it, close it and throw the key into the river hoping of everlasting love Here, from the end of the bridge, we have a first close look on the huge Cologne Cathedral Such an impressive building See the two migthy towers and the huge main portals the bronce lions are estimated some hundered years old and could tell lots of interesting stories And they invited us to have a look inside Just now a liturgy service was celebrated there, so we didn´t want to disturbe the attendants and stayed only a short moment Before we left the cathredral, we admired the colourful crib, wich is part of the "cologne route of cribs" Some last impressions of the Cathedral from outside In the near we found this nice spring, it is the so called Heinzelmännchenbrunnen Here we are in the oldtown now and see one of the Roman Churches of Cologne This is Great St. Martin And here we see St. Kunibert Here is an old tower inbetween modern buildings On our way by foot to the Flora we pass the Cologne Sculpture Park This sculpture I like most And here we reach the main entrance of the Flora You already know from the last week ago We know the place but I wanted to visit the tropical greenhouses we weren´t able to visit last week Here we hve fun between the cacti in the Succulent house And this is a flower we are very happy to see today, the nice yellow winter aconite [Eranthis hyemalis] This was our great walk in Cologne See and love You Yours Charlotte |

Hello world,
do You remember the map HemutBluepant and *Nick* gave störte as a birthday present some months ago? today störte needs our help, he said... "Until now I wasn´t able to find out yet, wich island this map shows", he told us So would You help me to identify an island that has got the same shape or silhouette? On the first map we didn´t find any island that comes into question... The second one was also a failure... This third one was a similar triangle shape, but it wasn´t störtes island... But suddenly, after a mount of maps... THIS was the island we are looking for Hey, that is tenerife, the island we will travel to in a few days, oh what luck we have So let´s pack our things we need there to go on holiday and for the treasure hunt what a lot of stuff... I will take the bathing towels we will need there at the beach So we pack our bunch and are glad that our great adventure will start Tenerife, we are coming ...tbc |

Hello World,
today we visited the oldtown of La Orotava Here we start with a view over the oldtown from the top of the Gardens of Marquesado de la Quinta Roja Here a view over this nice terraced garden This building was planned being a tomb, but it never used to be one When we went the steps down, we found this nice huge vase Some blooming orange daylilies [hemerocallis] The view on the garden from the base A first coffee with milk, in spain we order "una café con leche, por favour" After this small break we went on and visited the small but fine botanical garden of La Orotava, a dependance of the bigger Botanical Garden of Puerto de la Cruz The first very huge "tree" we see is a Canarian dragontree, [dracaena draco], it is the typical plant, but not a real tree, it belongs to the botanical familiy of Asparagaceae This is a Abyssinian or red banana [Ensete ventricosum], it looks nice with its red leafstalk, but it doesn´t have any fruit And here we have a bird of paradise [Strelitzia reginae] An anthuria A final view into the park before we leave this peaceful green place in the middle of this buzzy town Our next point of interest is the church Nuestra Senora de la Concepcion with its nice orange dome and two imposant towers Let´s have a short view inside Our final visit in La Orotava belonged to the houses with typical canarian wooden balconies, the so called "Casas del los balcones" The balconies there are carved in a very nice manner The patio of one house we were able to visit What a nice and full day in La Orotava This was it for today, love and see you soon Yours Lotte |

Hi World,
today we visited the beautyful smalltown of Garachico in the North-West of Tenerife Here the views from the top And here we are in front of the oldtown Some first impressions of the oldtown Inbetween a very small park the old gate of the haven is situated now. It´s called "Puerta de las tierras", that means "gate of earth" Some nice hibiscus there The next sight is the curch of Santa Ana with its typical tower And here we are in the centre of the oldtown, even the typial canarian balconies we found there Let´s have a break with a short very sweet coffee, called "cortado leche leche". A shot of very sweet condensated milk is added in Because of the rough sea, the natural swimming pools are closed, what a pity Finally we saw Castillo de San Miguel and störte inspected the cannon there with a lot of interest That was our tour of today and we hope that many nice days will follow Love You Lotte |

Strunki strunki1259@web.de Posted Feb 1, 2014, 12:01 am |
From there we drove higher and nearer to the Pico del Teide, the highest Mountain of Spain
The higher we came, the more the vegetation changes We drove through laurel forest and later the trees changed into Canary pine [Pinus canariensis] On our way to the Canadas, we found this so called \"Rose of stone\" Here we are on an altitude of about 2.100 m over Sea Level and there were no trees anymore, but only small bushes can survive there From this point I had the nearest view on the Pico When we drove high, we mostly have a look to the snowy northern side, but from here You see the south side of the mountain always free from snow Here we are at the so called Roques del García And here the views into the giant caldera Nice are the various colours of the different volcanic stones A very impressive plant here is the Red Mount Teide bugloss [Echium wildpretii], but it only has full flowers in Summer and all we saw were the faded pedicels (Please click on the link above to get an impression how beautiful the flower of this plant can be) We had a great day here and hope to come back for seeing more That was our trip of today Love and see You soon Yours Lotte |

Hello World,
today for the first time the weather was fine enough to spend the day on the beach and so we drove to the West, to Los Silos, where a very wild beach expected us What´s there in the background?? The whale skeleton I remember from last year I told my friends that this whale stranded here some years ago and the people decided to prepare the bones of this impressive marine mammal And störte informed us that he found an advice on his treasure map What adventures will we find at this wild and lonely beach?? The landscape here is incredible But the path is so heavy that only 4X4-Cars can drive there, so we had to hike... ...through deep canyons... and we had to climb up high and rough hills After a while we came to a strange place Here is a whole in the stones and when some heavy waves breake here, You hear (and sometimes see) a fountain coming out. A noise like from hell, I was sooo afraid that my friends had to hold me Later we found nice yellow flowers blooming and I remembered that I saw them last year as well Here was the place we spent many nice hours and Helmut hided here something useful, I remember as well... But first we took out our clothes and opened the naturist-beach-season 2014 here After this first recreatable chilling, *Nick* found something in a deep cave Woow, the boats of HelmutBluepant from the last year Since here the treasure map is all right ...tbc That was our adventure for today and we hope that many nice experiences will follow See You soon Yours Lotte [tv] |

Hello World,
today we went to the southside of Tenerife, where we found some mysterious pyramids. Yes, You read right, they even have pyramids here in Güimar . Not as huge as in Egypt or as well known as the ancient buildings in South-America, but here are some monuments that You can identify as pyramids. We were welcomed by two impressive figureheads formerly ornated two vessels of the Olsen shipping company, that has sponsored this museum in cooperation with the norwegian anthropologist Thor Heyerdahl who rediscovered the pyramids here in the 80ties störte said, the people here have so much luck that we found Helmuts boats yesterday, otherwise he had to enter this ship here, a replica in perfect plushie-size of the "Santa Maria", one of the three ships Christopher Columbus discovered the New World... The next impressive exhibition piece was a huge long drum shaped as a crocodile from Papua-New Guinea Then we went into the first building and found at the entrance a rebuilded relief stele of "Kon-Tiki" a god of the Inkas and eponym for T. Heyerdahls first raft in 1947 This nice guy is a rebuilded statue of a south-indian native who is fishing Look at this fierce Moche-man Here we have a scene, how the native canarians, the Guanches looked In this room we learned where in the world reedboats are used And here we learned where in the world pyramids were built The ancient canarians built pyramids as well... Here we met huge, but friendly wooden Komodo dragons The landscape to the seaside is also very nice And some more views on pyramids again And other nice scenes again We are sooo astonished about this secret place In another area of the museum we learned something about the canarian flora Here is the sweet tabaiba (Euphorbia balsamifera) And here Echium decaisnei Euphorbia canarensis I found here This plant also was nice but I forgot the name... sorry In this bush we played a little bit And here we see a blooming Aloe vera Not very often You see the aeonium blooming This tree we already know from the Canadas del Teide The opuntia is an emigrant from america but very common here because until last century the conchenille louse was breeded on this plant for cropping the red karmesin pigment Sugarcane, a very important ingriedience for störtes fave holiday drink A violet nymphea And what do the canaries produce today? And here we have another last good reason for enjoying the stay in this magnificent museum: To test Thor´s rafts and boats Kon Tiki Ra and Tigris-Boats Woow, what a full and nice day, but now we are tired enough to fall in sleep Good night and sleep as well Yours Lotte |

Hi World,
today we went to the famous Loro Parque in Puerto de la Cruz. The entrance is a rebuilt Thai-Village First we saw a nice waterfall and went into the Aquarium meeting a shark and some little lionfish A huge tank with a school of fish We went on and saw Gorillas. The group here is very special: males only from other Zoos, where boys were born in captivity, because without some females the bachellors are peaceful among themselves. And they had to be taken out their gropus when they grow up, because the main male wouldn´t accept them any longer. A view into the palmgarden Then we came to "Planet Penguine" Again we found Helmuts favourite flowers, today in pink. Helmut knows this tree here very well from last year and we know that he loves it One of the oldest buildings in the park in moorish architecture, where the Loro Show takes place We wanted to visit the Dolphin Show, but the dolphin pools are under construction at the moment so the show is cancelled for a few months... Instead of the Dolphins we had fun to see the Otters And enjoyed the hibiscus Next station: Giant turtles Now we are in the area called "Orchids Paradise" See the flamingoes And now we are entering the "Katandra TreeTops", a giant voliere where birds are able to fly almos free At the next station we saw white tigers At the gambia market we ate a chocolate banana in memory of Helmut The last highlight was the Orca Ocean That was a very full day with lots of impressions Love and see You soon Yours Lotte |

today the weather wasn´t as good as yesterday in the north so we decided to drive to the south again for trying out Helmuts boats in the small harbour of Güimar But first we wanted to have some lunch and chose typical canarian dish: in saltwater boild potatoes with green and red canarian sauce "Papas arrugadas con mojo" and "camarones", some boild crabs After our meal everybody of us held a short rest and strunki used this time to test some different optical system on the cam So, let´s go to the beach now And here we are live reporting from the canarian plushie boat regatta 2014 Next discipline was to test our surf board ...I´m not quite sure what Helmut likes at this surfing... Glad that I didn´t fall into the water like poor old störte did... But at the end we all had great fun at the beach here That´s all for today, love and see You soon Yours Lotte |

today we made a big trip to the Northern West Mountains called "Teno" But first we visited Mirador "El Lance" in Realejos, from wich You have a wonderful view onto the the Valley of Orotava from the North-West. ... And I highly recommended the Mirador as unmissable especially for us girls, hihi Then we came to the entrance of the Teno-Mountains and are estimated about 900m over Sea-Level Even in this altitude Oranges grow here But have You ever seen a sunflower blooming in February?? Our next stop we held in Santiago del Teide From there we made a short trip to the direction to Masca, but on the saddle on est. 1.100 m it was too windy and the narrow street was too full, so we turned around and drove further to the south coast But again we had free sight on the great looking Mount Teide On our way to Puerto de Santiago we found a valley where the almond trees were blooming just at this time from end of January until estimated end of February A wonderful landscape with nice flowers like the common asphodel [Asphodelus aestivus] The next attraction of today were the cliffs of Los Gigantes and the view on the neighbour island La Gomera The table promised that You sometimes can watch whales there But what we found in the harbour of Puerto de Santiago let störtes heart beaten higher A pirate ship What a pity that time was too short to sail with this nice ship Before we went back to our hotel, we had the chance to see the famous dragon tree of Icod de los Vinos What a full day this was love and see You soon Yours Lotte |

UrselHH and I arrived in Sülfeld. Dicker Kumpel gave us a warm welcome. And I met Helmut – it was wonderful! Kleine Fee and Mefito came, too. What a wonderful welcome! Then we said hello to his other guests. Dicker Kumpel got delicious banana liqueur. And Kleine Fee got some sweets from our holiday. We brought some chocolate and other interesting things with us. Today we took a trip to Hamburg together. We went to the part of the Port called Speicherstadt. Many nice buildings are there. Can you see us? Here we are – Helmut and me – and Dicker Kumpel and Kleine Fee. We saw two different anchors. Behind us you can see the maritime museum. We continued our walk - other beautiful old buildings. This place is called Nikolai-Fleet. What a wonderful day in Hamburg. Yours Charlotte |

Hello Mum,
Many greetings from the Cruise Ship AIDA Sol. We celebrated the start of our trip with delicious Champagne. Our first stop was Barcelona. Here you see the column of Columbus. We stopped in the Gothic Part of the city – and saw the beautiful cathedral. There was a little garden next to the cathedral and I loved the beautiful palm tree. This is the placa del Rei. We continued our trip on a bus. It was sunny – but we had a cold wind on the upper deck. Our next stop was the big church Sagrada Familia. They still build it – it is a great building – we didn’t go into it, because there was a long waiting time to enter. Here you see me in the wonderful Park Güell. It was constructed by the artist Gaudi, who planned the Sagrada Familia, too. There were nice monnuments with animals. The most famous one is this dragon. There is a long bench – we sat on it and enjoyed the sunshine. No idea, why Gaudi constructed this funny way, but we liked it. It was a great day in Barcelona. Love Lotte |

Then we started our trip on a Segway. We went to a place with great buildings – this is the opera house. It looks like a shark from this place. Another nice building. Later we stopped in the beautiful market hall. Valencia has a lot of interesting buildings – these are the older ones. Bye Charlotte |

We started our day on our balcony. It was enough place for all of us and we talked a lot. This is the view to the front of the ship – yes we are living in the front of the ship – just over the bridge. There you can see the front of the ship. On a cruise ship you spend a lot of time with eating – so it was time for some sports. We have a Power Plate in our cabin. First RikeH explained us how it works. Then it started to shake… …and we had to train our arms. After that it was time to relax in the living-room. This is the place where I write my updates. And here I am sleeping – in the morning I can see the sea out of my bed – this is great! Love Lotte |

Hello Mum,
We are in Africa and went to a small city called Asilah. Behind me you see a religious building. This was another tower… … next to a nice place. Next to the city there is a long beach – many children played soccer there. This is the door to a palace, but we were not allowed to visit it. Later we had this nice view over the city – but it was very windy. My last photo shows a big wall – there were many of them here in Asilah. Love Lotte |

Hello Mum,
Back in Spain we were in Cadiz. This is the Plaza de Espana with a wonderful monument. We walked around the city and had nice views over the sea and the promenade. There was a very tall tree in one of the parks. Cadiz has so many beautiful churches, this is one of it. Another nice part of the promenade. We went through the beautiful Parque Genoves. Look, the gran teatro. There were funny faces on the container for old bottles. Another nice church. And this is the new Cathedral of Cadiz. My last stop was on the Plaza de San Juan de Dios. I had a very relaxing day in Cadiz. Yours Lotte |

Hello Mum,
We went to Lissabon today. It was noon when we saw the city. I saw the tower of Belem and the famous monument. There was a big bridge over the Rio Tejo. Later we walked through Lissabon. I loved this big arch. The big place in front of it was nice, too. On the place there was a big monument. We walked to another place with a beautiful fountain… … and a big monument. I loved the waves on the ground here. There was a nice old elevator. We couldn’t use the elevator, because we wanted to go to another part of the city. Next to a small church we found a lookout and saw our ship. There was a big monastery far away. Bye Lotte |

Hello Mum,
Today was an exciting day – we had a TV-meeting. It was great to sit together and talk! Poschti came on the Cruise with us so we had a welcome party this evening. We had chocolate and fruits. And I had my own bottle of Coke. Then we all took one piece of fruit and one piece of chocolate. It was a nice party, but then we were tired and went into our TV-bed. Good night, Mum! Lotte |

Hello Mum,
After a bumpy trip from Lissabon we arrived in La Coruna. Because of the stormy weather we will stay two days here. Today we took a walk. Behind me you can see the harbor. There were many small fisherboats. From this point we had a good view of our Cruise Ship – it is really tall, isn’t it? There was a fortress – nowadays it is a museum. We saw big waves – maybe it is a good idea to stay a little longer in this town? Believe it or not – only some steps from the water I found this sunny place with the beautiful flowers. These houses with the balconies with glass in front of it are typical for La Coruna. This is the town hall – really nice. Back on the ship I stood on the balcony – can you see the fortress behind me – there we went. And I want to show you this – every evening we got these chocolates – a Cruise is wonderful. Yours Lotte |
RikeH Posted Mar 16, 2014, 12:13 pm |
Hello Mum,
I told you about the bumpy trip to la Coruna. We took some photos of it, but I forgot to update it. So here can you see me and my friends looking out of the window. Here you can see nothing from the rough sea… But now you can see more – the waves! I went onto the balcony and saw the waves on the side of the ship. Today the weather was much nicer! Later I went onto the pool-deck. There was a big screen on the deck! Here you can see the name of the cruise line. Love Lotte |

Bonjour Mum,
It was time for a new country – this time we were in France. We arrived in Le Havre. The architect here loved concrete - you see it everywhere. We wanted to see a nicer town and went to Honfleur. There was a beautiful harbor! We went into a big wooden church. Here you can see the tower of it. There were many old buildings in the town. Later we continued our trip and went to Deauville. This is the promenade next to the beach. The clothing rooms are named after famous movie stars. We walked along the beach – it was wonderful! There were funny houses in the city. Au revoir Lotte |

Hello Mum,
Today was our last day on the AIDA Sol. I walked over the sun deck again – very sunny! This is the theatre inside the ship. This is one of many bars on the ship. Hopefully the weather will be nice tomorrow, because we want to have nice views when we arrive in Hamburg. Love Lotte |

Hello world,
You remember this terrible 13th in February, when strunki thought, she had extinguished all our nice pictures made at the Beach of Playa las Teresitas? Now Helmut found exactly this files deep in his camera space and so we are able to show You our fun there today First we thought of a second visit of Santa Cruz de Tenerife, but the weather was too cloudy and so we decided to drive a few miles more spending the day at the one and only white beach on Tenerife See my footprints in the sand So what funny things can we start next? Shall we sail with our boats again? See us racing against the other Team UrselHH "organized" the paddles from the boat of our competitors and joined our crew störte and Hase tried to win with hoisting their sail After the boat race we had fun by doing sanddiving Finally, everybody dived into the sand ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ In the evening we celebrated one of the hottest plushie partys Tenerife ever has seen (and survived) We had a great time here Yours Lotte |

Far behind me you see a big bridge. Hamburg is a really beautiful city! There were two theater for musicals – the left one is not open yet. We spent our last hours on the ship relaxing on our balcony. It was a really wonderful cruise. We should do one together soon, Mum. Love Lotte |

Hello Mum,
Back in Germany we had lovely weather, so today it was time for a walk. The nature starts now – because it is springtime. It was nice to sit in the sunshine with my friends. Soon there will be some swans on the lake. We came along another beautiful small lake. This is Dicker Kumpel’s famous tree. We all have to take photos with it every time we see it. Back home we saw the German flag. This stone stood in front of Dicker Kumpel’s house. Look, the first flowers arrived! Yours Lotte |

Hi Mum,
We went to a small town called Bad Oldesloe. This is the biggest church here. I went into it – there were colorful windows. I met two wooden men. There was a big organ. Sadly nobody was there to play it. Then I came to a nice water wheel. I learnt a lot about it on this sign. Yours Lotte |
RikeH Posted Apr 5, 2014, 3:49 pm |
Hello Mum,
The weather was great today, so we played in the garden. Dicker Kumpel is a great gardener and I want to show you some of his flowers. I loved this forest of yellow flowers! These flowers were so nice, too. Blue flowers are great, too. Springtime is one of the best time of the year! Love Lotte |
RikeH Posted Apr 15, 2014, 6:48 pm |
Hello Mum,
It was time for some sports – and we decided to play billiards. Dicker Kumpel explained the rules. He showed us how to play. Then it was my time. It was so much fun! Surely I won with 8:3. Then I explored the room. A horse lived here in the Past, I guess. Then had a long call with my Helmut, it was great to talk with him! Love Lotte |
RikeH Posted Apr 21, 2014, 4:01 pm |
Hello Mum,
Dicker Kumpel received a game from his friend Murph – and today we wanted to play it. There were some chocolate bars with photos of wild animals on it. Well – a nice game – looking at photos. But it was not that easy. They were turned on the wrong side and you can turn two. If they were the same photos you won the chocolate, if not you turn it again – and search new pairs, when it’s your turn. First I found two different animals. It really was not an easy game. The animals look equal, but wasn’t the same species. Finally I found two warthogs. When we finished the game I was really good with one pair – hopefully you are proud of me, Mum! Dicker Kumpel who won the most pairs shared two pieces of chocolate with us. It was yummy, Mum! Love Charlotte |

Hello Mum,
Happy Easter! Today it is the Day of the Bunnies! We all sat in the sunshine and waited for RikeH. She arrived and told us that the Easter Bunny has been here – and we could start searching for some sweets! I found some chocolate! Then we went to another part of the garden – here we should have a race for eggs. We all were ready to run! Look – I had a great third place! Later we found this great plant – chocolate lollies are growing in it! A great place – and we wanted to send Birthday wishes to a very special friend! Happy Birthday my big love Helmutbluepant! This was the first part of Easter – tomorrow we will meet the Eater Bunny! Love Lotte |

Today was an exciting day, too. We went to visit Dicker Kumpel’s grandma. Many bunnies were living there. I would love to send you these beautiful flowers! And I met these chicken – I think they worked hard for Easter. Maybe these were the children of the chicken? Then I met the Easter Bunny. This was so great – it was very nice and friendly. When we came back to Dicker Kumpel’s home we went into the garden and saw two beautiful trees. Love Lotte |

Hello Mum,
I had a great time here in Sülfeld, but I think it is time to come home again. The others gave me a big hug. Travelling alone is boring, so I invited one of these nice TVs to come with me. It will be a surprise for you, who comes with me! It was hard to say goodbye to Dicker Kumpel and Kleine Fee. But they give me two gifts. One for me – I am allowed to open it at home – and one for Helmut’s birthday. Until soon Lotte |

Hello world,
today we made a short trip through my home-town Remscheid This is the town-hall, a very impressive building of the early 20th century The tower is 58 m high and one of the landmarks of Remscheids skyline On the right hand You see the [url=Lion of Berg]http://de.wikipedia.org/wiki/Bergischer_L%C3%B6we[/url] ...Only to compare: The new so called "Ämterhaus", but lot of citizens here think, that it is only a memorial-building for one of our last mayors... ...very modern for a historic town... Here I am in front of the Allee-Center, a middle-sized shopping mall very lightful inside because of the huge glass-roofs at the moment there´s an exhibition of colourful lions, painted by clubs, private people or some companies also outside I saw such a lion This is the Allee-Strasse, the main pedestrian zone And here we are at the market, downhill from the upper centre coming You see the nice town-church this is the view back to the upper part of the pedestrian zone At this place we found a nice colourful spring here our little tour ended and we recreated at the spring for a while This was my day, love and see You soon Yours Lotte |

Hello world,
today we visited the outdoor-museum Lindlar There was a huge market for plants, flowers, spices and other nice things on this sunday Let´s have a short look inside one of this half timbered houses wich are very typical for the Bergisch Land The kitchen The living-room, mostly only used on sundays or for celebrations, a so called "state parlour" The bed-room The "toilet" was a chair with a hole and a chamber-pot I have to admit that especially this house is very rich decorated and fullstaffed, not every building was as noble as this here... Most half timbered houses are much more smaller, narrow and even poorer in furniture and tapistery... See me in front of other rural buildings here at Lindlar In another building was an exibithion of old electrical stuff And we saw a lot of farm animals a cow with her calf some goats funny piglets, relatives of Helmut, I think and even heavy horses pulling a plough An example of a small farm-garden Here we rested a while and drank some "Fassbrause" This was my day, love and see You soon Yours Lotte |

today we vistited the old town of La Laguna The complete name of the town officially is "San Christobal de La Laguna", but everybody here calls the city "Laguna" Lots of very old houses I saw there, the inner city was built in the 16th and 17th century, when Laguna was the formerly capitol of Tenerife. One of the oldest churches here, the cathedral of La Laguna This is an interesting example of a typical canarian house with an inner patio Here we held a rest before we went to the market halls At the market halls I looked for something to eat or drink for our planned picknic tomorrow on sunday See tomorrow, what the other TV´s had found for our picknic See You soon and love You, Yours Charlotte |
