Yesterday Sneakysnail (mum) picked me off my shelf at home and said I was perfect (which I am). I wasn't quite sure what she meant I was perfect for but soon all was explained as she showed me this website and asked if I'd like to go and explore the world. I was very excited and jumped up and down on my bed. But it's very tiring being so exited so I fell asleep. She asked for an ID and it came today so now I am a Toy Voyager and I'm ready for some fun adventures! Bye for now, DottyCroc
sneakysnail Posted Nov 7, 2013, 4:22 pm	Hello, This afternoon I had some fun at home. Mum left me alone and went off to do something so I thought I'd do some exploring. I looked around and saw pens and pencils and a strange device. Cautiously I walked over to it and tried to see what it was. I couldn't so I climbed onto it to see if I could tell from on top of it. No, still no clues. I hopped down and went to pick it up but it broke open! Lots of dots fell out! I do so love dots and this must be a magic dot making machine. The pile of dots was irresistible and I jumped in and rolled around. When mum came back and saw dots everywhere she was a bit angry but I don't think she could have been too angry because she giggled as she brushed them off of me. I had great fun, dots are one of my favourite things! DottyCroc
sneakysnail Posted Nov 8, 2013, 8:11 pm	Hi there, Today mum took me to a friends house to do some baking. First we made an apricot and lemon loaf. I was trying to sieve the flour but I fell into the bowl and had to climb out. I got covered in flour! We also made chocolate chip cookies, I particularly liked those because they had dots on! They tasted good too. Baking was very good fun, I loved the chopping board with the gingerbread people on. It was also very tiring and I fell asleep in mums bag! DottyCroc
sneakysnail Posted Nov 9, 2013, 5:10 pm	Hey, Not much has happened today, it is very rainy and cold. Mum went shopping and she bought some nice drinks with little hats on. I tried one of the hats on but it was a bit big. I curled up for a nap in the other one, it was very cosy and I didn't want to climb out again! Bye. DottyCroc
sneakysnail Posted Nov 10, 2013, 2:45 pm	Hey there, Today was a great day. Mum brought my good friend Flutters down from her shelf so she could play with me. She has dots just like me! First we played with some spinning tops, it was funny to watch them spinning. Afterwards we played snap and found some ladybird cards! We played snap for ages. I won five times but Flutters won seven times! Then mum took us out into the garden and we climbed on some plants. It was good to get some fresh air after being inside for a few days. sneakysnail Posted Nov 13, 2013, 3:57 pm	Hi! Today mum took me to our local library. I slid down the stair banister but mum caught me before I hit the ground with a bump! I tried to hide behind some books and jump out at mum but she kept finding me. There was a friendly badger at the library, he had a package on his back but he would not tell me what was inside. His name was Book-ish the badger. First I found a book with lovely gardens in it and I liked looking at the pictures. Then I found a book all about mushrooms, it had some nice mushroom photographs in it. I also found a book with a big dotty leopard in it, he looked a bit scary. There were a few books with crocodiles in and I lied down next to a life size photo of a baby crocodile. I'm a lot smaller than him! I looked on the travel section for places I might like to visit. Then I read about Germany, I'm going there on a trip sometime mum says. It looks really nice there. When we finished at the library we went to a charity shop and mum bought me three small friends. I will introduce them tomorrow. That's all for today. DottyCroc.
sneakysnail Posted Nov 14, 2013, 3:21 pm	Hello, Today as promised I will introduce my new friends that mum bought yesterday. They hope to become Toy Voyagers and travel the world someday too. There's Hippity the pink hippo, Mrs Fleece the black sheep and Mischief the blue and green butterfly. Mischief has dotty wings! We spent the day just chatting and I showed the new toys around a bit. sneakysnail Posted Nov 16, 2013, 6:22 pm	Hi, Today I spent some time with my new pal Mischief. We asked mum if we could do some colouring and she drew us a picture each. The pictures were of us and mum got us some pens to colour with. We coloured them different colours to the colours we are and decided they were friends of ours we'd drawn. Mum wrote their names on the pictures, I called mine DottyLottie and Mischief called his Trouble. Mum thought we had drawn our dream girlfriends! We hadn't but I'm not sure she believed us. Colouring was good fun, it is one of Mischiefs favourite hobbies. DottyCroc.
sneakysnail Posted Nov 17, 2013, 11:51 am	Hello there! Today I played with some lego that mum was sorting out to sell. I had fun jumping in it. I built a mushroom like the ones in story books. The red ones with white dots. Dots yay! Mum says those ones are called Fly Agaric mushrooms and they are poisonous. My lego Fly Agaric makes a good chair though and I hope to see a real Fly Agaric one day. I made some friends with the lego too. Literally made some, I had to put the pieces together to make some pals! I giggled a lot and the lego men thanked me for making them. It was a laugh playing with the lego! Bye, DottyCroc.
sneakysnail Posted Nov 18, 2013, 6:15 pm	Hi there, Today mum took me on a short walk in the forest near her house. It was wet so mum brought a napkin for me to sit on so I didn't get wet. I got a photo of me in a tree and some pictures with mushrooms! My life missions! I'm starting to complete them! Yay! I even found a swing made on one of the trees, that was fun to swing on. I enjoyed the forest walk even if it was only short. DottyCroc
sneakysnail Posted Nov 20, 2013, 6:31 pm	Hi. Today I was sitting at home listening to the rain fall on the roof with Mrs Fleece when there was a loud booming sound! I was very scared and I hid under a cushion. At first I didn't know what it was but then I realised it was a thunder storm! The noise was quite loud and Mrs Fleece had to comfort me with a big warm hug. Mrs Fleece is like a grandma, she's very wise. When the storm was over Mrs Fleece and I helped mum with a jigsaw puzzle. We looked for pieces mum wanted from the box but soon we ended up rolling in them instead! In the last picture I am running over to Mrs Fleece with the piece she needed. Mum hopes the weather will be dry again soon so I can go out on some adventures. DottyCroc.
sneakysnail Posted Nov 21, 2013, 4:43 pm	Hey, The weather is still wet and cold. Even inside mums house was freezing cold. I was going to play games with Hippity today but it was just so cold we had to focus on keeping warm. We tried wrapping up in a big blanket but we were still too cold inside it! We tried dancing to some of mums music, but that didn't keep us warm for long. It was good fun though, she has some really lively music on her music gadget device. We even tried to get warm around a mini fire but even that didn't make us warm. Mum was trying all the things she could think of to warm us up but nothing worked. Then she went upstairs and got us a mini hot water bottle. It was made especially for toys! She warmed it up and we snuggled down by it. Aaaaaah! Warm at last! It felt amazing and we soon fell asleep beside it. DottyCroc
sneakysnail Posted Nov 24, 2013, 6:22 pm	Hello, Today we got in the car and drove to a big fancy house. It is old and is decorated really nicely inside for Christmas. No photos allowed inside though. I got one outside in a Christmas tree which was good. There were lots of rooms and there were people in costumes walking around. There were also servants quarters which were more fun to look around and photos were allowed! Yay!  I sat in a big basket of vegetables but I prefer meat. We found a huge chunk of meat for me to pose near. It wasn't real meat though, I tasted it and it was definitely plastic. Once we were done in the house, we bought some duck food and fed the ducks. That was great fun except when one stepped right on me! It made me a bit muddy and angry but mum brushed off the mud and it tickled so I was soon smiling again.  After a busy day, I fell asleep in the car on the way home! DottyCroc.
sneakysnail Posted Nov 26, 2013, 7:22 pm	Hello! Today a strange package arrived and mum told me to open it. She said there was a nice surprise in there for me, I couldn't think what it could be. As I carefully opened it, I saw two pairs of big eyes looking out at me! It's The WotWots! I read about them with mum on the computer and now they've come to visit me! I helped them out and gave them each a welcome hug before helping them unpack their things. They brought some nice goodies for us all to enjoy. They showed me the things they've collected on their travels and told me all about their journey, it sounds amazing! We ate some of the goodies and talked a lot but it was soon bed time. They were tired after their long journey. Mum sorted out a nice bed with a dotty pillow for them and then I jumped in with them too. I'm really looking forward to spending some fun times with Spotty and Dotty before I start my big adventure. DottyCroc
sneakysnail Posted Nov 27, 2013, 3:53 pm	Hi all! Today I was helping my new friends settle in. I took them to see my good pal Nibbles. He is mums pet rabbit. We looked for him in his cage but he wasn't there. We waited for a while in his cage and Spotty Wot got hungry so he ate a little bit of rabbit food! When Nibbles didn't turn up, I asked mum where he was. She said he was running around the room and she moved us somewhere else to wait for him. We hung around there and I tried a bit of rabbit treat and then Nibbles turned up! He gave us a quick sniff which tickled and then he ran off down the room! The Wotwots liked Nibbles. This afternoon we played catch with a small ball. It kept rolling off so I had to go after it! One time when Dotty threw the ball it landed right on Spotty's head. It was so funny! Dotty and I were rolling around laughing so much. Spotty wasn't hurt so we posed for a group photo. I can see the Wot Wots are going to be great fun! DottyCroc
sneakysnail Posted Nov 28, 2013, 5:36 pm	Hello everyone, Last night was great fun. The Wotwots and I had a midnight party! We ate sweeties and played music and danced and bounced and...and.... it was really exciting! When mum came downstairs this morning we were still snoozing and we looked a mess. She was a bit grumpy and she said the music had been a bit loud in the night. Oooops.  We all tidied up, Dotty made the pillow nice, Spotty picked up the rubbish and tidied the shoes and stuff, and I made the bed. We apologized to mum and she said she'd forgive us. This afternoon mum brought us a little parcel all wrapped up in Christmas paper and she said it was for us to open. Inside we could hear muffled giggles as we tore open the paper. Out jumped a little bear in a green jumper. He knocked Spotty over! We all welcomed him and then we talked for a while. He is called Shamrock and he comes from Ireland originally. He explained how he came to be at the Christmas fair where mum bought him. He'll stay with us tonight and join Mischief, Mrs Fleece and Hippity in the morning. Our bed is getting a bit crowded! sneakysnail Posted Nov 30, 2013, 2:35 pm	Hi, Yesterday another package arrived on the doorstep. Mum brought it in and said it was for me. I guessed it might be another friend arriving and I was right! It's NiliHH from Germany! She is very cute and I like her a lot already. I helped her to unpack her things and then we all sat down to eat the sweets she brought. I shared one with her because we're only small. We talked for a while and then she tried on Spotty's flip flops. They really suited her and when I told her how pretty she looked in them, she blushed. Everyone told me how nice Germany is and I got very excited. Mum says I'll be on my way there in less than a week! Bye for now Dottycroc
sneakysnail Posted Dec 2, 2013, 4:31 pm	Hello there, Today I awoke to find a big tree had arrived in the living room. It is of course December now and that means Christmas is on its way! Mum said we could decorate the tree for her and she got out the decorations. There were baubles, snowmen, candy canes and more and it took quite a while to put it all on the tree. There was even a naughty naked angel for the top of the tree! NiliHH and I had to work together to get her up to the top. It was great fun decorating the tree and mum says we'll have more Christmas fun before I head off to Germany to see what Christmas is like there.  Bye for now, Dottycroc
sneakysnail Posted Dec 4, 2013, 1:04 pm	Hey there, Today we did some more Christmas things. First we made a big paper chain for the wall. We all worked together and it was done really quick. The glue was big and heavy and mum was concerned we might all get sticky so she watched us very carefully. The paper chain is on the wall but we cannot get a photo of us with it because it will break if we all sit on it! It looks pretty anyway. Next mum got out a nativity scene that needed to be set up. The Wotwots built the stable and I worked with NiliHH to build the crib type thingy. It went well and soon we were putting the characters in. They were arranged nicely and we took a photo. Then we took all the people out again and made up alternative stories with them which was good fun. Dottycroc
sneakysnail Posted Dec 4, 2013, 7:42 pm	Hello. Today, for my last day at home, we did a dots and spots trail around the house. Starting downstairs we found a cushion and some curtains with big dots on and a giraffe with medium sized spots on. He was fun to climb on and I imagined I was riding him across a big African plain. We headed upstairs where NiliHH had things to find too. We found a purple slipper boot with white dots on and a blue green shower cap with brown spots on. The shower cap really suited the Wotwots! The trail was over too soon, I was really enjoying it. Tomorrow is my big day and I'm very excited. I'll go to bed early tonight because I won't get much sleep whilst I'm travelling. Dottycroc
sneakysnail Posted Dec 5, 2013, 5:09 pm	Hi. Today is my big day, the day I start my adventure! Mum got my envelope ready and I said my goodbyes. First I said goodbye to Mischief, Shamrock, Mrs Fleece and Hippity, my friends who are waiting to be Toy voyagers. Then I said goodbye to Dotty and Spotty Wot and to NiliHH. I am sad to have to leave so soon after my visitors arrived but I know my adventure will be fun. Nervously I climbed into my package and mum sealed it down and took it to the post office. I'm not sure where I am right now, in my package, somewhere in the world, on my way to hostmum in Germany. See you soon hostmum, I'm on my way! Dottycroc

There were Kirin from Chile, Dutchy the Lion from the Netherlands and Frederik, GustavvHH and RSG Leo from Germany. My host Katja and all the travellers gave me a warm welcome. olgamaus Posted Dec 12, 2013, 7:45 pm	Hi Mummy, we took a walk in the afternoon because Katja wanted to visit her Mum in a nearby hospital. Because the weather was quiete good we went there taking a loop way. GustavHH accompanied us. The first picture was taken close to my current home. There is a small park just in front of the housing complex. Katja suggested that we would walk downhill towards the historic district Hasten. Not far from my current home there is a larger intersection. Walking downhill we reached Hasten a few minutes later. Here we found beautiful older houses. Some years ago a former track for freight trains  was built to a lane for pedestrians and cyclists, following the original track. Remscheid is an industrial city, famous for its tool producing industry and also other metalworking. The freight train track was connecting the district Hasten with its industrial companies with the central station in the city centre. The track is about 4,5 km long. It is called "Trasse des Werkzeugs" (Route of tools) because it was sponsored by local companies which are producing tools. Along the track you can find information signs and those showing the logos of the sponsoring companies, all created in a rusty-looking style. There are still industrial complexes along the track, but also different housing areas with both apartment builidngs as well as terraced houses. It was rather misty outside, I'm afraid you cannot see that there are large woodland areas in the background. Someone has a souvenir from the former railway track in his garden We found a blooming hazel bush. Here we found more of those logo signs. This sign is showing the coat of arms of Remscheid with a lion with a double tail and a sickle. The closer we were walking towards the city centre the more industrial complexes were found along the track. olgamaus Posted Dec 19, 2013, 1:21 pm	Hi Mummy, today we met another ToyVoyager member, Strunki and went to Dortmund, a large city in the Ruhr area.  Its population of about 570.000 makes it the 8th largest city in Germany. We visited the Christmas market which is one of the largest in Germany. You can find the world's tallest Christmas tree here. Here you can see the Christmas tree! A stage, 45 m tall, is implented with 1700 red spruce trees. We even met another TV member here, mcdaniels with her guests. We went to a café for an hour or two. So many ToyVoyagers were visiting Dortmund today When we left the café is was almost dark outside. From a booth with a balcony we had a great overview. Here in Germany you can also find carousels on Christmas markets, like this one for kids. We strolled around the crowded city and had lots of fun. On another market we found fantastic illumination. These balls in the sky were changing colours! Here we bought one of those pretty stars. It will be attached to the window in the living room. What a great day! And it was great to meet so many ToyVoyagers. Love DottyCroc
olgamaus Posted Dec 25, 2013, 12:14 pm	Hi Mummy, in Germany Christmas is already celebrated on December 24th. We helped to wrap the presents. Today Katja's son and daughter will visit us to have dinner. Tomorrow we will visit Katja's sister and on Thursday Katja's sister-in-law and her family. We had a really calm evening with dinner. olgamaus Posted Dec 29, 2013, 8:44 pm	Hi Mummy, today we visited Germany's highest railway bridge, Muengsten Bridge. Katja told me that Germany's highes railway bridge is connecting Remscheid with the neighbour city Solingen. We went there with Strunki and her guests. This is Morsbach creek, flowing into nearby river Wupper. Next we reached river Wupper. In the background you can see an outlook pavilion, Katja told us that we would see it again later. This is one of the touristic highlights of this region, so you can find information boards all along the way. On this board the height of Muengsten Bridge is compared to other well known buildings like Cologne Cathedral or Berlin Cathedral. This picture is taken from an original historic postcard. Do you believe in oracles? Here is one and only puddle oracle! I'm afraid it told us that the ugly weather will stay for the next days and that there was no winter in sight. No snow, no cold, nothing but rain. Walking through the forest I found a comfortable hole in a tree. Later I found these tracks in the mud. Do you know them? Dog and deer, I would say. Due to the rainfalls you can find lots of little waterfalls running down to the valley. We reached the outlook pavilion than,the one we have seen when we started our trip. It was built around 1900 by a rich former citizen of Remscheid, August Diederichs. That's why it is called "Diederichstempel". From here we had a first look to Muengsten Bridge. It is under construction works at the moment, no trains are crossing the bridge. We found these weird things in the forest. Nobody knows what it is. They were made of something like concrete. We all needed a little rest, I decided to sit in a tree and watch the river. Along the path you can find several pieces of artwork, mostly engraved rocks like this one. A nine-men's morris! Can you see this bridge in the background?  Here we crossed the river to walk back along the opposite side of the valley. Soon we reached Muengsten Bridge. Muengsten Bridge was built of steel, completed in 1907. It is about 480 m long and 107 m tall. There are extensive repair works going on in the last few years and they are taking place at the moment. The bridge will be closed for several months. Some years ago a leisure park was built under the bridge. You can find lawns for relaxing here, a crazy golf course and playgrounds for the kids. olgamaus Posted Dec 30, 2013, 3:30 pm	Hi Mummy, we visited a park in the neighbour city Wuppertal today, the Nordpark. This landscape park is situated in the district Barmen. It was founded in 1895. You can find a large game reserve here, a playground, a restaurant, a soccer ground, a halfpipe for skateboarders and lots of woodland areas. When we drove to Wuppertal, we stopped at a place with a great overview across the city. Wuppertal is loacated in and around the river Wupper valley. It is the largest city in the region Bergisches Land. Wuppertal is a major industrial centre, but also known for its steep slopes, its woods and parks, The touristic highlight is the Schwebebahn (suspension railway), unfortunately we did not see it today. Soon we reached the park and started our trip at the playground area. The park is situated at the slope of the valley, at this point high above the city. We walked through the woods ... ... and we found the game reserve. About 30 fallow deer are living here. Other visitors were feeding the buck, but he seemed to be more interested in me This common beech must have toppled and been sawn recently. We were so happy that the sun was shining. Bye DottyCroc
olgamaus Posted Jan 4, 2014, 5:19 pm	Hi Mummy, we went to Katja's sister-in-law's family today to celebrate the last day of the year. When we arrived, there already was everything prepared for dinner. There were lots of cheese, sausage and cold meats, salad, smoked salmon, herring salad and different kinds of bread. We all enjoyed German beer Later we several board games, this one is called "Niagara". You have to collect gems of different colors while that river is really moving and it might happen that your boat is falling down the "waterfall" and your boat and the collected gems are gone. At midnight we all had a glass of sparkling wine efore we went outside for the fireworks. Happy New Year! Thankfully it was not raining like it did the last two or three years. Love DottyCroc
olgamaus Posted Jan 7, 2014, 9:44 pm	Hi Mummy, today we walked along the Korkenziehertrasse (corkscrew route), which is also a former railway track. We started at the former central station of the neighbour city Solingen, only the depots remained there. This route is called "Korkenzieher" because its course, meandering through the city, reminds of a corkscrew. We started at "Standort Bahnhofstraße" and walked to Gräfrath. Here you can also find some artwork, these scissors for example. In Solingen cutlery, utility knifes, scissors and swords are produced for centuries. So this sculpture is a great mixture of a local symbol and the one for the Korkenziehertrasse. Still close to the city centre you can find all kinds of industrial plants situated at the former track... ... and a cemetary in a housing area. One of some tunnels ... Suddenly the city disappeared and there was this rural area. At a playground I found this "hamster wheel" for humans Oh dear, so many possible destinations: a zoo, a path to Muengsten Bridge, to the historic district Graefrath, to an arts museum ... We left the route here. This is Museum Baden, a museum of art. Later we took a bus to get back to the city centre. They are having trolleybusses here! Looks interesting Bye for today DottyCroc
olgamaus Posted Jan 9, 2014, 2:30 pm	Hi Mummy, today we took a walk in the outskirts of Remscheid to meet a friend. Katja's friend is living in the district Luettringhausen. Not far from my home you can already see the green outskirts. In a valley we walked along a farm with cameroon sheep, chicken and geese. There were some houses hidden in the valley, one of them this lovely half-timbered house. In the meantime we met Katja's friend Bye DottyCroc
olgamaus Posted Jan 15, 2014, 8:44 pm	Hi Mummy, the weather was fantastic today! In the early afternoon we were picked up by a friend to take a walk in the surroundings of Remscheid. We started our trip in Kueppelstein, a small district close to a larger woodland area. First we walked along a farm. We walked downhill for some time towards river Wupper. This is a small pond in the forest. Here you can see river Wupper with the only bridge between Solingen and Muengsten in Remscheid. There were steep rock walls along the walking path. We reached Solingen-Unterburg than with its small church and a special historic graveyard. This graveyard was opened in 18th century, in 1744, with 105 numbered gravestones, all made from the same kind of sandstone. It was closed in 1854. Nowadays you can still find 52 of those gravestones. We went to the tiny city centre of Solingen-Unterburg, located at the junction of river Wupper and Eschbach, a creek. This statue is showing a "Kiepenkerl". In ancient times, when there were no streets, all kinds of goods were carried to all the widespread hamlets by people carrying such panniers. We had to walk back than, this time we walked along another path which was located at the slope of the valley. From here we had a good overview to that small church and the graveyard. olgamaus Posted Jan 18, 2014, 8:00 pm	Hi Mummy, we had mussels in white wine broth with garlic for dinner. Yummy! We had to clean the mussels first, and we had to sort out those with a broken shell. In the meantime Katja prepared a delicious stock with onion and garlic, white wine and some spices. The mussels had to boil for a few minutes in this stock until all the shells were open. We enjoyed the mussels with salad and bread. Bye for today DottyCroc
olgamaus Posted Jan 20, 2014, 7:49 pm	Hi Mummy, we visited an arboretum today. An arboretum is a collection of trees, sort of a botanical garden containing living collections of woody plants intended at least partly for scientific study. We went to "Staatsforst Burgholz", a woodland area which is situated in both urban area of Wuppertal and also the urban area of Solingen, but only a small part of it. When World War II was over, there were nearly all trees felled for rebuilding of destroyed city areas and also as firewood. Searching for fast-growing forest species trees from foreign counties were planted than in this area to study their growth in local weather conditions. Plants from North America, South America, Asia and Europe were planted. We went to Wuppertal by bus and had to walk for about 15 minutes to reach the historic district Cronenberg. Here you can find a lot of lovely old traditional houses. We reached the forest than and also the starting point of our walking-tour. There are several walking paths through the arboretum, of course we chose the longest of them, about 6 km long, displaying a variety of trees from Europe, America and Asia. [img] [/img] We had to follow a yellow marking, showing a pine cone. The first highlight were those sequoia trees. The walking path was rather muddy, all those creeks carrying a lot of water. olgamaus Posted Jan 29, 2014, 1:58 pm	Hi Mummy, we went to Cologne today to visit Cologne Cathedral and the Flora / Botanical Garden. Cologne is Germany's fourth-largest city and is the largest city both in the German Federal State of North Rhine-Westphalia and within the Rhine-Ruhr Metropolitan Area. Cologne is located on both sides of the Rhine River. We went here with Strunki and her guests. The car was parked at the opposite bank of River Rhine, so we had to cross Hohenzollern Bridge first. Trains and pedestrians are crossing the river here, but no other traffic. Four equestrian statues showing famous members of the Hohenzollern family are placed at the four corners of the bridge. A freight ship was passing. Hohenzollern Bridge is famous for thousands of love padlocks which were attached to the trellis so far. Of course the very most important thing you have to see in Cologne is Cologne Cathedral. It is a renowned monument of German Catholicism and Gothic architecture and is a World Heritage Site. Cologne Cathedral was built between 1248 and 1880. The cathedral is the largest Gothic church in Northern Europe, its towers are about 157 m tall. Cologne Cathedral is  is the seat of the Catholic Archbishop of Cologne. Church service was going on, but visitors were allowed to enter the rear part of the inside of the cathedral. Next we went to see a bit of the old town. Katja showed us Heinzelmaennchen fountain, located in front of the oldest brewhouse in Cologne. Heinzelmännchen are a race of creatures appearing in a tale connected with the city of Cologne, they were said to have done all the work of the citizens during the night, so the citizens could be lazy at daytime. We went to the promenade and walked past the old town of Cologne. Those houses were built in 17th ventury. Even in winter there are a lot of excursion boats. We had to walk for a longer time along the promenade to get to the Botanical garden. Everywhere you can find modern buildings and historic buildings close together, like this roman church. Not far from the Botanical garden we found this park with a sculpture exhibiton. A lot of interesting sculptures were placed on the lawn like this giant ring. Next I visited a house without window panes, roof and floor. From here it only was a short walk until we reached the Flora / Botanical Garden. In a few weeks thousands of flowers will be blooming here. We walked along greenhouses ... ... and a palmtree alley. I found blooming winter aconite. A walkabout brought us back to the palmtrees. We visited a greenhouse showing desert plants. So many kinds of cacti! Another highlight was the Japanese Camellia exhibition. This is not a camellia, but this giant plant was found in the same greenhouse. olgamaus Posted Feb 5, 2014, 9:30 am	Hi Mummy, in our lunchbreak we strolled around the city centre of Remscheid. Katja's work place is close to the city hall, so we started our trip here. The tower of the city hall is 48 m tall, visible from most outskirts and the surrounding cities. There is a large open space in front of it, a farmers market is takingi place here twice a week. This is a water tower, located behind the city hall. This is the rear side of the shopping mall with the parking deck. Here you can see the central bus station. Remscheid was twinned to Wansbeck in Northumberland. This dumper was a present from Wansbeck. Back in the city centre ... The shopping street is beginning here. This is the main entrance of the shopping mall with a fountain in front of it. Bye for today DottyCroc

Three ferrets are living here and they eat raw meat and intestines  from all kinds of poultry and rabbit, they like ground meat from calf and lamb as well. Everything was chopped into small pieces and than portioned and frozen. Here you can see one of those cute predator, Shiva. The ferrets are very playful, cheeky and hoggish Bye DottyCroc
olgamaus Posted Feb 5, 2014, 4:17 pm	Hi Mommy, today we met Katja's friend Kerstin and took a walk with her and her dog Pepe. We went to Wuppertal, to Scharpenacken, a former army training area. This area was used for military purposes until 2004 A.D as a shooting range. Today there is a local recreation area with vast open areas. Soon we reached a woodland area. Here we found large tinder fungus. We reached more open areas than. Although it was not extremely cold yet, this puddle was frozen The dog had fun and we also did Bye DottyCroc

RikeH Posted Feb 17, 2014, 7:38 pm	Hello Mum, We went to the port of Hamburg today. I had a nice view from a place called Landungsbrücken. What a nice tower. On the other side of the Elbe River there are two musical halls – the left one is really new. Behind me you can see the sailing ship Rickmer Rickmers. Then we had a great idea – we jumped onto a small ferry to the building Elbphilharmonie. I had a nice view over the Elbe River. Hamburg’s port is really beautiful. We came near to the both musical halls. Me in front of the skyline of the port. This is the Elbphilharmonie – a very expensive building. I looked to another part of the port – the cruise terminal – but there is no cruise ship today.     And here is the part where they load and unload big ships. It was a nice trip for us TVs, RikeH had a hard time, because it was really cold – and her fingers got so cold! Yours DottieCroc
RikeH Posted Feb 26, 2014, 9:21 am	Hello Mum, Many greetings from the Cruise Ship AIDA Sol. We celebrated the start of our trip with delicious Champagne. Today we went to a city called Valencia. We had wonderful sunshine. This is the Basilica on the Plaza de la Virgen. Next to it was the Cathedral. Behind me you see the Cathedral from the other side. Then we started our trip on a Segway. We went to a place with great buildings – this is the opera house. It looks like a shark from this place. Another nice building. Later we stopped in the beautiful market hall. This is the view to the front of the ship – yes we are living in the front of the ship – just over the bridge. There you can see the front of the ship. On a cruise ship you spend a lot of time with eating – so it was time for some sports. We have a Power Plate in our cabin. First RikeH explained us how it works. Then it started to shake… …and we had to train our arms. After that it was time to relax in the living-room. This is the place where I write my updates. RikeH Posted Mar 3, 2014, 9:41 am	Hello Mum, We went to Lissabon today. It was noon when we saw the city. I saw the tower of Belem and the famous monument. There was a big bridge over the Rio Tejo. Later we walked through Lissabon. I loved this big arch. The big place in front of it was nice, too. On the place there was a big monument. We walked to another place with a beautiful fountain… … and a big monument. I loved the waves on the ground here. There was a nice old elevator. We couldn’t use the elevator, because we wanted to go to another part of the city. Next to a small church we found a lookout and saw our ship. There was a big monastery far away. Poschti came on the Cruise with us so we had a welcome party this evening. We had chocolate and fruits. And I had my own bottle of Coke. RikeH Posted Mar 11, 2014, 4:32 pm	Hello Mum, After a bumpy trip from Lissabon we arrived in La Coruna.  Because of the stormy weather we will stay two days here. Today we took a walk. Behind me you can see the harbor. There were many small fisherboats. From this point we had a good view of our Cruise Ship – it is really tall, isn’t it? There was a fortress – nowadays it is a museum. We saw big waves – maybe it is a good idea to stay a little longer in this town? Believe it or not – only some steps from the water I found this sunny place with the beautiful flowers. These houses with the balconies with glass in front of it are typical for La Coruna. This is the town hall – really nice.    Back on the ship I stood on the balcony – can you see the fortress behind me – there we went. Yes, there it was! Far behind me you see a big bridge. Hamburg is a really beautiful city! There were two theaters for musicals – the left one is not open yet. It was nice to sit in the sunshine with my friends. Soon there will be some swans on the lake. We came along another beautiful small lake. This is Dicker Kumpel’s famous tree. It was so much fun! Unfortunately I lost – Kevin Kiwi won with 5:4. Then I explored the room. A horse lived here in the Past, I guess. Then I called my next host to tell him that I will arrive soon. Before I left this friendly place I met HelgaHH. It was exciting, because she has dots like me. Maybe not so many as I have. But it was great to meet her. Can you see it?  Here you have a better view – they were half-free morels. Finally the orchids bloom.  Where are the yellow morels?  Murph found one. Then we found more and more.  Tomorrow we will return with our baskets and then we will collect yellow morels. Murph is great. Neither this house. It is the town hall. There were many sculptures of Luther in Eisleben. We really liked this one. At the end we found the house where Martin Luther was born. Here you can see a very famous church.  The church is more inclined that the tower of Pisa.  Then we went to a museum. You can see parts of a castle of Emperor Barbarossa. The gate to the old castle and an old workshop. This is an old smithy. I really liked this house. An old stove out of mud. Behind me you can see our next goal.  Yours DottyCroc

Here you can see a photo of Barbarossa I absolutely wanted to have a photo with this lion. How exciting – petrified wood…  We wanted to have a souvenir from this holiday.  What a great coin – it was self-made by us. HoBi Posted May 8, 2014, 4:59 pm	Hello mum, today I took a look at the hometown of Murph. This river flew through the whole city. There are 2 big salines in the spa gardens. The people used it to produce salt in the past. It smells good.  This is the famous place of Murph. It is called Summstein – you sit inside of it and bumble. Then the whole body prickles. Very funny!  Next to the Summstein you see the colorful pigeonry, but I didn’t see pigeons. There were many beautiful trees in the park. They opened a golf-course here. It is an 18-hole-adventure golf course. Bad Salzdetfurth is a really nice city. I hope that I will show you more of it. Many greetings DottyCroc
HoBi Posted May 13, 2014, 6:15 pm	Hello mum, We went into the forest again and searched new mushrooms for my lifemission. But first we found many orchids. Really beautiful flowers! Uihh, the first mushrooms… St. Georg’s mushrooms  Murph told us that we should smell the mushrooms. Not that nice….but eatable. The bear’s garlic blooms! We never saw a white orchid before. They are very rare.  Another mushroom: a little brown cup We saw this danger sign in the forest. Ticks should live here – but we have no problems with it – we are ToyVoyagers.  This mushroom is really rare. Murph only knows one place where it grows. Normally it is purple – this one is not that purple – and it is poisonous – violet crown cups We continued our walk and went onto a meadow. So many Snowdrop windflowers! And more orchids – I love these flowers. Mum, do we have orchids at home, too?  You know this orchid, don’t you? At last we found another brown cup – but this one was really big… Mum, this photo is specially for you.  What a wonderful day in the forest. Dicker Kumpel planned a game for us - great!  He explained the rules. We played with the die. Everyone who has a six put the cap and the scarf on. Then he or she was allowed to ‘fight’ with the wrapped chocolate. This seems to be funny. Let’s start.  I threw the dice – unfortunately no 6…  The next time there was a 6 – I took the cap and the scarf – and here I go.  After the game we all ate sweets – yummy! What a wonderful day! HoBi Posted May 23, 2014, 3:36 pm	Hello mum, We took a trip to Grabau together. There is a maypole in the middle of the village. But actually we wanted to go into the forest. Let’s see what we can find here.  Wow – really beautiful! We loved the view over the lake. A quiz in the forest. Do you know this tree? It was an oak tree. Normally you can play music here, but I was too small.  We found great mushrooms! Everyone knows these mushrooms – you can eat it in chinese restaurants – jelly ears…    We observed animals. For good photos we were brave and went near to the animals.  Then we continued our walk- and at this lake we watched out for birds. More mushrooms! Mum, I completed my 2. life mission?    But now surely…  At the end we found this great wooden wigwam. What a wonderful forest! But then it was time to say goodbye to Dicker Kumpel and his guests. HoBi Posted Jun 6, 2014, 4:14 pm	Hello mum, Today we visited two landmarks in the Teutoburger Wald. First we walked to the „Externsteine“.  These rocks are really famous. There behind me you can see it. We saw this beautiful small river – and urgently wanted to have a photo. These rocks look really great – don’t they?  There is a bridge between these rocks – it looks dangerous… These rocks are really beautiful!  Our second stop is the region’s landmark.  It is „Hermann der Cheruskser“. A really big monument! Here you can read the height of the monument. The sword alone is 7 meters high.  What a wonderful day! DottyCroc

The umbrella for the hay looked great. I love Windmills.  Look, Mum, so many vegetables. Can you see who is on the vegetable? Snails everywhere.  Wonderful houses! I saw many nice half-timbered-houses in Blomberg. And I really liked this old water pump. Another great half-timbered house – it was wonderful painted. This is an old town gate. Blomberg has a castle. This is the courtyard of it. We saw this car there – I would have loved to drive in it.  Unfortunately our holiday is over and we have to go back home.  Greetings DottyCroc

It is called Chicken of the woods - funny color, isn’t it?  A beautiful flower: the Purple foxglove And then this: a small King bolete. We left it in the forest, because it was too small. Another mushroom:  a Common stinkhorn Puh, mushrooms can smell really bad!  These blossoms smell much better: the Black elder What a beautiful mushroom! We smelt it – it smells like vinegar…  This plant is really rare here, but beautiful: the Wood cow wheat Finally I show you this mushroom. Many people love its taste. I had black… …some sweets… … and  potato chips. Everything was ready!  It can start! Here they go. The German team played really great! This beautiful mushroom is eatable... a blusher And this small mushroom is really hot – Murph told us – we didn’t try it.  Another mushroom: the tawny grisette We had to hide under the trees because of the rain. The first mushroom: The Miller- it really smelt like flour.  Imagine that – we found truffles.  And another beautiful cup At the moment we only find small mushrooms  - not enough for taking it with us… On our way back we walked over a big meadow. We all are so happy.  Of course we will celebrate it, but first we will go on a nice excursion. There is a big castle in Derneburg. In the forest was a small teahouse. So many stairs…  Unbelievable – there exists a pyramid in the forest inside of Germany. It is the grave of the former owner of the castle. I liked this house. There were small houses of fishermen next to many small ponds. It didn’t look like one – but this was one of the fish ponds. This region is really beautiful. DottyCroc

Just like a fairytale…  The courtyard of the castle… We were not allowed to take photos inside of the castle. But we found this funny guy at the exit and wanted to have a photo with it. In the evening we celebrated the arrival of Dicker Kumpel and Kleine Fee. Murph prepared a small party: We drank, ate and talked a lot. ... even drank, ate and talked more... I visited many famous places:  Kap Arkona Jasmund Mum, look, the world is upside down.  This was a funny experience!  Sellin – it is very famous. And Neu Mukran We  tried a specialty of Rügen. HoBi Posted Jan 19, 2015, 4:50 pm	Hello mum, Today was my last day with Murph. First we found a small king bolete – too small for taking it with us. These mushrooms have a funny name in Germany – they are called ears of donkeys.  These green mushrooms smell really good. Very yummy! Aniseed toadstools  Everybody knows these plants, we think. I love these mushrooms!  But I didn‘t see this mushroom before. An umbrella polypore Al least we found a nice umbrella. Then it was time to say goodbye. It was a nice time with Murph.
