A Scottish Lass Posted Jan 25, 2008, 1:45 pm |
Hello Everyone, I would like to introduce myself, my name is Donald, and as you can see I am a Scottish Bear that travels in my kilt and Tartan Tammy Hat, I am very proud to be Scottish, and love all things Scottish, But I dont drink the Whisky because it gives me a fuzzy head, and I dont eat the Haggis because it scares me. Anyway I am up for a laugh and would like to try anything once, I mind my manners and I love a cuddle before I go to bed at night
This is me with my brother Callum I heard about this great website called ToyVoyagers so I thought that I would check it out When I saw all the wonderful places I could visit I had a look on the map and thought this was for me I decided that I wanted to visit Greece and thought it would only be polite to learn some of the language Now that I have decided that this is what I want to do I have to say my goodbyes |

Bonjour !
I'm in France , my trip was fine and i'm happy to be there. I didn't expect the scottish weather here !! (the rain didn't last but it's cold outside). I didn't meet Gargouille and Tortilla but i don't feel too lonely : there are a few "stay at home" toys : a french teddy bear and a french zebra and 3 toys who are souvenirs from the Usa so i can speak english with them. I had my first "baguette" (french bread) today. Well, i'm a little bit tired by all these events , i'll type more later and will send some pixes. Au revoir ... |

Bonjour !
I'm still alive and kickin ! I 've done many things lately : been to Fleur's office, hectic work. Her workmate said "oh qu'il est mignon!" as soon she saw me (he's so cute). Saturday is market day at Arras. It's very crowded, i've seen lot of veggies, meat, cheese ... i enjoyed it and should go back on next market day (wednesday) for better pixes. The houses are beautiful and the weather was nice but cold. Back to the flat i got a "café viennois" and a "drops" (chocolate chip bread). So yummy ! I tried to read the last Harry Potter in french. Today Fleur cooked me an english breakfast (without bacon). I will send you a postcard from Arras soon mum, so you'll have a good idea of the place i visit. Bisous ! |

Bonjour !
i really enjoy my stay in France; last sunday i could watch the rugby game between France and Scotland. I was sorry Scotland lost but never mind. Fleur was supporting the Scots with me. I went back to the market today but it was almost over and much smaller than on saturday. I've seen "la grand place", a very big square with beautiful houses. Then we went to the library. It was in a former abbaye and is in the same place than the museum, called "Palais St Vaast". This city is full of historic houses. Yesterday was Mardi-Gras, they celebrate it with pan cakes in France, Fleur said she'll cook some for me on saturday, especially if a new friend is coming from the netherlands. I can't wait to meet him!! Mum, i'll write you a postcard very soon, Bisous!! |

We'll have a party tonight. I can't wait and it will be so much fun with all my friends !! I didn't go to the market tonight but went to the shop with Fleur. She had to pick up some clothes she ordered. Ah , ladies ... It was good to walk in the streets of Arras by a beautiful blue sky ! Bisous |

Bonjour,
i just drive back from the little town of St Pol sur Ternoise. I had a good time there : I was playing in the garden (the weather was perfect) of Fleur's grand-father. I also walk in town , most of the houses have been built after world war 2, there are a few historic places though. Bisous |

I'm back at Arras: we travelled by train yesterday and 'coz of traffic troubles we could go on the TGV (high speed train), it was a great experience, very comfortable!! Here is a new toyvoyager now : a fine guest from the Netherlands like Dirkie. His name's Malcom. Fleur received today some japanese sweets and she gave us some, very yummy! Bisous |
Fleurdunord Posted Feb 24, 2008, 10:36 pm |
Bonjour!
i'm eating so much french food that i'll get too fat for my next trip ! Yesterday, Fleur came back from the backers with a big cookie for us and some croissants for today's breakfast. Me and my dutch friends have baked a big cheese pie (flamiche aux maroilles). The pie was great but the cheese had really a bad smell. I'll remember it all my life!! Bisous |

Oksana oksanashevtsova77@gmail.com Posted Jun 3, 2008, 5:40 pm |
Today we went to the post-office in the morning to send Helen Bear and Budd to their next hosts. We all felt a bit sad because we didn't have enough time to play together We will miss our friends very much! We wish them a quick and safe journeys!
When we said good-bye to Helen Bear and Budd, we were walking for some time in the centre of the city where Oksana showed us some interesting places of Novosibirsk, some monuments and buildings. Here I'm near the Novosibirskaya conservatoire, the monument of the famouse Russian composer Michail Glinke. The fragment of the monument which shows the scene from his opera "Ruslan and Ludmila" based on the fairy tale written by the great Russian poet Alexander Pushkin: Such billboards are met everywhere in Novosibirsk- they tell about the parties, concerts, plays which take part in this city. The monuments of Vladimir Lenin were very popular in the former USSR. We also met some in Novosibirsk. This one stands on the very quite street in front of one of the Novosibirsk universities. The time of wild apples in bloom in Novosibirsk is over but you can meet lylac in blossom everywhere. I like it very much! Dandelions are the most popular flowers in Novosibirsk now! ) They look like small suns in the green grass. Here I'm near the cafe which is called Aquarium. A nice fish, isn't it? Not far from that cafe we found this lovely statue of a girl with a fan: The stone heart. It's situated in the Pervomaysky (means May,1) garden. It's one of the symbols for people in love in Novosibirsk. Couples who are just married often comes to that stone heart to make photos. At first it was just a stone sculpture without any writings on it, but then young people wrote their words of love on it. Here is one more stone sculpture. I guess it's a mother and a child. And this monument is a gift of the Armenian community to Novosibirs for the 2000th anniversary of Christianity. Novosibirsk has a Metro. I like it very much. But it's not so long like in Moscow and deep like in St. Petesburg. It has only about 12 stations. The station where our host lives is called Gagarinskaya- it was named after the first cosmonaut Yuri Gagarin. It's early morning, so there are not many people on the station. Here we are near the local museum. I like that building very much, it looks very old. And these are the monument of Vladimir Lenin and the House of Opera and Ballet. In fact June, 1 is the international children's day and it's celebrated in Russia every year. You can see lots of children with their parents in the parks and gardens. Concerts and different games are organized for them. Oksana and some other guys from the studio of ethnical drums also prepared some action to support children who lost their parents. So they played drums in the park and gathered money to send them in one of the Novosibirsk charity organisations. And later in the evening Oksana took us to the drum circle to the studio where she plays African drum djembe. It was very interesting there! |

Oksana oksanashevtsova77@gmail.com Posted Jun 9, 2008, 2:40 pm |
Today morning Oksana took us to the cinema-house- we watched a new American cartoon "Kung Fu Panda"! We liked it very very much, because the panda there was so-o funny!
And in the evening Oksana went to the concert hall to watch some Celtic musical festival and we asked her to take us with her. The festival was great! I saw there many people in kilts! |
Oksana oksanashevtsova77@gmail.com Posted Jun 16, 2008, 6:08 pm |
Yesterday evening Oksana took us with her to another Siberian city- Krasnoyarsk. She decided to go there to visit some dolls' exhibition and see the city. We went to Krasnoyarsk by train. It took us about 14 hours to get there.
On the square near Krasnoyarsk railway station. The church not far from the hotel where we lived: We were very lucky because on June,12 Krasnoyarsk celebrated not only the Russia's day, but also Krasnoyarsk's 380th annyversary. We could see the carnival on one of the main streets of the city. It was great!! Here we are in the Patio Pizza. We are going to eat pasta ) Krasnoyarsk has many very interesting and beautiful buildings. There are many old wooden buildings: In the historical cetre of Krasnoyarsk: Krasnoyarsk has many flowers and trees on the streets. Tulips are just everywhere there! We could see many artificial trees with electric lamps instead of flowers. They looked fantastic in the evening! There are many sculptures from plants and flowers on Krasnoyarsk streets: We are on the bench of conciliation/peace: Some church: We had a small trip on the steamer "Rocket" about the Krasnoyarsk river Yenisey. The steamer was very fast! We visited the local Krasnoyarsk museum which was build in the beging of 20th centure in an Egyptian style: That's the way Russian old house looked like many years ago: |
Oksana oksanashevtsova77@gmail.com Posted Jun 18, 2008, 3:55 pm |

Oksana oksanashevtsova77@gmail.com Posted Jun 24, 2008, 6:23 pm |
Today night Oksana and we went to the republic Altay to visit the festival of ethnic music "Live water 2008".
It took us one night to get there by bus. The nature was very beautiful there- we lived near hills, forrest and river. We saw this lizard many times near our tent house! The place where we lived: Waiting for the concert: |
Oksana oksanashevtsova77@gmail.com Posted Jun 24, 2008, 6:56 pm |
Today Hector teddybear arrived in Novosibirsk. He came from England and he is so-o lovely!
We are best friends now! |
Oksana oksanashevtsova77@gmail.com Posted Jun 28, 2008, 6:35 pm |
Today morning we went to the beach. In fact there is no real sea in Novosibirsk, but there is a big river Ob (it devides the city into two parts) and the Ob reservoir, which is called here the Ob sea.
We had a nice picnic there- played in the sand, sunbathed, ate many fruits and other tasty food, played in the forrest, etc. We came home in the evening- we felt very tired but happy We saw many beautiful sailing ships! |
Oksana oksanashevtsova77@gmail.com Posted Jul 5, 2008, 5:01 pm |
Last Sunday- on June,29 Novosibirsk celebrated it's 115 annyversary. We enjoyed the City Day very much!
Many ballons, flowers, lots of music, happy people with children... At the fair: With the beautiful roses: A kiss The street musicians from Ecuador: The fountain-bear One more fountain: The exhibition of fire-engines: |
Oksana oksanashevtsova77@gmail.com Posted Jul 13, 2008, 4:50 pm |
Today is my last day in Novosibirsk, because tomorrow Oksana will send me to Moscow to my new host. So we've decided to spend this evening at home. At first we were watching the detective story about Miss Marple by Agatha Christie.
Then we talked a lot with our new friends who live with Oksana. We were reading a very interesting fairy tale by Alexander Volkov "The Magician of the emerald castle" And we played the cards. It was very funy! I felel a bit sad because tomorrow morning I will have to leave- I will certainly miss my dear friends NormaNikkers, Hedgie, Hector and Mittens and others But I hope we will meet again some day! And now wish me a nice and safe journey! Till soon! |
