Hi Ingrid!

I arrived in Toronto, Canada after a quick and quiet trip.

My new host, Stephanie, was very happy to see me. I'm the first ToyVoyager to stay with her so she promised to take great care of me and she says I'm VERY cute.  :D  She was also very happy to see the gift I brought with me (she says 'Thank you' to you!)

http://i81.photobucket.com/albums/j226/StormHound/toyvoyagers/RobWelcome.jpg

I told her that I was hungry after my long trip so we went outside to her backyard to make hamburgers.

Look at the beautiful flowers in her garden!

http://i81.photobucket.com/albums/j226/StormHound/toyvoyagers/Rob-flower.jpg

Stephanie agreed to let me cook, but I couldn't lift the big lid on the grill.  :(

http://i81.photobucket.com/albums/j226/StormHound/toyvoyagers/Rob-bbq.jpg

The hamburgers were REALLY big!  I ate and ate, but still couldn't eat more than half of my dinner!

http://i81.photobucket.com/albums/j226/StormHound/toyvoyagers/Rob-burger.jpg

Stephanie and I found something in common - we both LOVE coffee! So she let me borrow one of her coffee cups and she said I could use it the whole time that I'm here! It's kind of big...but that means I get to drink more coffee!

http://i81.photobucket.com/albums/j226/StormHound/toyvoyagers/Rob-mug.jpg

Well, I'm tired from my trip, so I'm going to go take a nap. I'll write more later!

I have been so busy in Toronto!

On the weekend we went to a baseball game. The Toronto team is called the Blue Jays and they play at the Rogers Centre. It's a really cool stadium! The roof opens and closes so that when it rains, they can close the roof and keep playing! Isn't that cool?

The day I went, it was really sunny, so the roof was open.

This is me outside the Rogers Centre:

http://i81.photobucket.com/albums/j226/StormHound/toyvoyagers/Robgame.jpg

And here's me at the game! (you can see a little of the roof in this photo)

http://i81.photobucket.com/albums/j226/StormHound/toyvoyagers/Robgame2.jpg

Haha, the players look so tiny on the field!

The Blue Jays beat the team from Seattle 8-3 so everyone was really happy!

Hi Ingrid!

This past weekend was a holiday weekend here in Toronto so we went up north (2 hours north of Toronto) for some time at a cabin.

The weather was pretty good and I relaxed in the sun (don't worry - I used sunscreen!)

http://i81.photobucket.com/albums/j226/StormHound/toyvoyagers/Robsun.jpg

And as a special treat, Stephanie bought some super-yummy butter tarts.  Mmmmm!

http://i81.photobucket.com/albums/j226/StormHound/toyvoyagers/Robtarts.jpg

When we got back, we headed downtown, where I got to see a really, REALLY tall building!  The famous CN Tower!

Hello!

Sorry I haven't posted much lately, but Stephanie's camera broke and we weren't able to take any photos until she got it fixed.  :(

Last week, a new TV arrived!  :)  His name is Moony and he's originally from Germany.

http://i81.photobucket.com/albums/j226/StormHound/toyvoyagers/RobandMoony.jpg

He's already been travelling for a little bit so he's been telling me about all his adventures, which is really interesting!

http://i81.photobucket.com/albums/j226/StormHound/toyvoyagers/RobandMoony2.jpg

Tomorrow Stephanie is going to take us to her office, which is in downtown Toronto. And next week we are all going to go up to northern Ontario to spend some time at the cabin! I can't wait!

Wow! Another TV arrived today!

http://i81.photobucket.com/albums/j226/StormHound/toyvoyagers/3.jpg

Cliff is from Holland and has been travelling for a long time too and has been all over the world! It was really exciting to hear about Cliff's travels, but I was even happier because it was nice to see a TV smaller than me!  :)

Today my host made some soap again.
This time she used the cold prosses methode.

She mixed, palmoil, coconutoil and oliveoil togther with some lye and it turn out to be soap.

She put some nice coulors in it and put it in a piemold.
After drying 1 day she puts the mold away and let it dry for almost 5 days.

Today we where making some last steps before finishing.

Hi Mum,

Well it was a busy weekend - me & the other toys got a train & went to Birmingham - which is city in the middle area of England!

Here is some info on the history of Birmingham that you may find of interest:

BIRMINGHAM
Anglo-Saxon tribes started to settle in the region around 700 A.D. Tribes such as the Hwicce and Anglian Mercian's started to make the area their permanent home. Evidence of Saxon settlement is apparent from the name endings of some of Birmingham's well known localities. The suffix -ley means clearing in a forest. The town of Birmingham was a hamlet hence ending in ham. In 1166 when Peter de Birmingham bought the right to hold a weekly market in his castle. The market prospered and Peter laid the foundations of the town of Birmingham.

By mid 1300's the town was listed as third town in size in the county of Warwickshire. Coventry and Warwick were larger. Aston, once the larger settlement now became Aston beside Birmingham. The Birmingham market grew from strength to strength with traders selling their cloth ware and metal goods. In 1511 the Clerk of Ordinance placed an order for horseshoes and weaponry for the Royal Army. Trade links were being forged with East Anglia and Bristol.

In the 1700 James Brindley pioneered in building the canal system in Birmingham - which now runs for over 110 miles in & out of the city! An area called Brindley Place is the heart of the canal system in the centre of Birmingham with shops, bars, restaurants, and events venues - the ICC (International Convention Centre), Royal Symphony Hall, & The NIA (National Indoor Arena ) - these venues hold thousands of people for many different shows & performances - from dance events, to concerts, to comedy etc ...!

In the mid 1600's, with a population of some 7000 inhabitants, William Westley by 1700 drew up a town plan and calculated the population of Birmingham as 15,000. In 1801, at the time of the first census Birmingham had a population of 73,670, which meant it was one of Britain’s largest and most important towns.

In the 19th century industry in Birmingham was still dominated by metalworking. The workers of the town still made nails, brass goods (such as bedsteads), nuts and bolts, screws and buttons. They also made pen nibs and toys. There were also jewellers and gunsmiths in Birmingham. In the late 19th century railway carriages were made in Birmingham. So were bicycles. Glass making was also an important industry. From the end of the 19th century there was also a cocoa and chocolate industry at Bourneville.

Interesting Events in History Time Line:
1832 The Botanical Gardens opened
1852 The first public baths opened
1856 The first public park in Birmingham opened
1879 The Council House was built
1885 Museum and Art Gallery opened in
1889 Birmingham was made a city
1837 A railway from Birmingham to Manchester and Liverpool was opened
1838 Birmingham was connected to London by rail.
1861 The first public library in Birmingham opened
1873 horse drawn trams ran in Birmingham.
1874 The first modern fire brigade in Birmingham was formed
1879 The first telephone exchange opened in
1882 The town gained its first electricity supply
1890 The first electric trams ran
1885 A Municipal School of Art opened
1891 Municipal Technical School opened
1909 Birmingham University was founded in
1913 Birmingham Repertory Theatre was built
1960-1971 An inner ring road was built
1971 New Street Station was rebuilt
1973 a shopping centre was built over the station
1980s it was refurbished and renamed the Pallasades
1987 The Pavilions Shopping Centre opened
1987 the City Council unveiled a new City Centre Strategy, the city centre was to be rebuilt and refurbished
1991 The International Conference Centre and Indoor Arena opened in 1991.
2000 Mailbox Shopping Centre opened
The Bull Ring shopping centre was built in 1964 & the re-developed & re-built in 2001
Today industries in Birmingham include car manufacture, engineering, finance and also tourism.
Today the population of Birmingham is 1,025,000.

We had a few pictures taken - one of the ICC & Symphony Hall i told you about earlier, we stopped off for coffee, and a pizza too - yummy! But the reason why we were in Birmingham was about to become clear - The NIA you have just read about it where we were going today! There was a show on called Walking with Dinosaurs Live! The idea was taking from a TV show on BBC channel, it was like a documentary, with lots of CGI to make really life dinosaurs - they have put that into a live show with real size dinosaurs. We weren't allowed to use our flash when the show has started - but there are lots of pictures of the dinosaurs to show you!

It was amazing .... although i was a little scared at times, there were so big compared to little me  :o

As we were walking back to the train station we found quite a few things to take pictures of - most impressive was the beach that had been set up in the middle of the city for the summer - apparently a few cities have been doing it this year - i am guessing it's because the English weather hasn't been so good for summers here in recent years!! 'The Monarch Beach' covers 577 square metres and make use of over 110 tonnes of sand. There is a stage presenting plenty of live music and entertainments and the Beach Bar and Cafe to get drinks & snacks from! What a great idea  B)

Also we found traditional English letter box & phone box - apparently there aren't many of the red phone boxes around now so we were lucky to find one!!

We are off to Julie's work today - she has assured me there will be lots of coffee to drink there as she works in an office  :) Then tomorrow night Julie has managed to get some tickets to see a Radio DJ Chris Moyles, from Radio 1 - he does the breakfast show & is doing a live show at club in Bristol - should be fun  B)

I will be sure to update you with the news & pictures soon - Julie's compututer at home is being slighly tempremental & wont let her upload pictures at the moment  :(

Lots of Love, Rob  :p  xxxx

And the last few pictures are the pictures from 'Chris Moyles Show Live' .... the Radio 1 dj i told you about .... it was great fun - there was lots of karaoke, drinking & dancing, before we made it home for bed as it was work night & julie had to be up early :p

Hi Mum!

So sorry for not being in touch sooner - Julie has had such bad luck recently - firstly, she has been ill with sinus problems, me & the other toys have helped look after her though, we even went to the hospital with her yesterday to see the specialist  ;)

It was a very posh hospital in the Clifton area of Bristol - they have huge houses from the Victorian era - they are worth millions of ££, it's situated just off a place called 'The Down's' - it was so beautiful - 400 acres of grassland stretching from the very cliffs of the Avon Gorge where the Clifton Suspension Bridge is, right to where the houses & shop start to build up! Julie said she will take us to the Suspension Bridge soon - it's an iconic masterpiece that Bristol is famous for so it's a definite must see!!

And second bit of bad luck is Julie's laptop lead had broken so we can upload our pictures, we should have a lead soon though!

Until then i will just write some updates for you from Julie's work ;)

Last weekend we went out with Julie, her boyfriend & his DJ partner - they were dj'ing in a town called Plymouth, on the South coast of England - didn't get to see much of the sea though as it was dark  :(

We partied there for few hours, Julie bought us lots of drinks to get into the spirit when we watched them dj, was great fun :) We will be going out again with them next weekend when they play at a massive club in Bristol called The O2 Academy  B)

But this weekend is very exciting though - Julie is taking us to London for the day tomorrow so i cant tick off one of my life missions!!! I am super excited!!!! Hopefully i will get to see everything, but there is so much ...... Big Ben, The London Eye, Downing Street, Tower Bridge, Diana Memorial park, BBC Television Studios, Wembley Stadium & much much more  :p :p

Have a great weekend, will write again soon, Love Rob :p

Hi Mum!

Wow - London was amazing .... there are so many great pictures to show you - Julie has assured me the lead for her laptop will be here in a few days, so i can upload pictures for you then  ;)

We went on a coach to London, then when we got there we went straight on the tube to start our mission .... first stop was the BBC Television Studios, and the International Media Head Office. We wondered around there & found a 'Starbucks' to stop & have a coffee in, be were going to need it as Julie showed us on the map all the places we had to go - it was going to be a long day!

Next stop was Wembley Stadium - it was massive!!! Saturday was the day England were playing a friendly football match against Slovenia! Wembley Stadium hosts all kind of events from sports to concerts. It is owned by the FA (Football Association) and is the main venue for football Cup Finals & international games! Wembley dates back to 1923, famous for it's twin towers at the main entrance to the stadium - but it was re-built & re-opened in March 2007 - it cost as massive £798million to build!!!

Nearly lunch time now, what better place to have our picnic then at The Princess Diana Memorial in Hyde Park. It was lovely water fountain, very relaxing & calm, lots of families & kids playing in the fountain, nice to find spots like that amongst the busy city centre & hot tubes!

From there we caught tube straight to Westminster - there is so much there to see - we saw Big Ben - did you know the clock tower was built way back in 1288?

Then we saw The London Eye - Julie told me it is the largest ferris wheel in Europe!

Next was Downing Street, we couldn't get past the barriers & the police - highly protected area, but we got to see the sign, no Prime Minister Gordon Brown today!

Then Nelsons Colum - the column was built between 1840 and 1843 to commemorate Admiral Horatio Nelson's death at the Battle of Trafalgar in 1805!

Then we took a long walk down 'The Mall' - it;s the street that leads to Buckingham Palace. Down there we saw The Queens Guards, then walked a little further down to Buckingham Palace!

Last stop was the coach station to go home, a well deserved rest was needed after that day  :p

Will get pictures for you as soon as i can!

Lots of Love, Rob

Hi Mum!

What a great weekend - Julie has got nice new camera delivered last week so me & Etwas tried it out on eachother to see how good it was ..... it was great, a huge lense on it as has 12x zoom - that is allot!!! So this weekend was the time to try it out on our adventures ..... first Julie took me & the other toys with her into town with her to do some shopping! She showed me around the shops - it was huge! The shopping area is split into 2 places - 'Broadmead' - which is more outside & streets of shops, and the brand new 'Cabot Circus' which is under cover & looks more like a Mall.

From there we walked through the centre of Bristol where Julie we saw a War Memorial, and we went past 'The Hippodrome' - it's a theatre, they have lots of live shows there from kids tv programmes, to musicals!

Then on the Saturday night we went out again with Julie & her boyfriend clubbing as her boyfriend was dj'ing ..... managed to get on the ecks with them which was lots of fun!!

You wil be pleased to hear that Julie now has the lead for her laptop so i have lots of pictures to re-size & finally get uploaded to show you :p

Hi Mum!

It's been a busy week this week - Julie took me & Florentine to work with her - we stopped off through centre of Bristol to get the bus, went past 'the Galleries' which is small shopping Mall, then went past 'Syndicate' which is nightclub, Julie has been there lots of times before - it does mainly dance music. Then opposite was a police station, and we got to see a English Police car .. it was very bright! We crossed the road safely, waiting for the green man, and got on the bus. We sat & read the paper on the journey to work as it takes about 40 minutes!

At Julie's work we sat around & had some coffee while Julie got on with her day. On her lunch break she took us outside - there is lovely pond just outside her building, nice & relaxing  ;) We found some motorbikes too - Julie let us sit on them - they were huge for little me, bet they go so fast!

Over the weekend we went to the pub with Julie & her boyfriend, a nice glass of wine & some roast chicken - yummy!

Today we had a new arrival - MrCoolHH - he is great fun, look forward to getting to know him! Julie says we have another 2 toys that should be arriving this week too, looking forward to meeting them!

This week we are busy helping Julie pack - she i moving house as well as going on holiday - only 4 days now till we fly off to Mexico - i cant wait, will update you with the pictures of what i have been up too before i go on holiday!

We will be back from Mexico the weekend of the 17th October  B)

Hi,

At last i have got all of my pictures to show you .....

We left Bristol on coach to take us to the airport - we left from Gatwick, which is near London. It was early start though had to leave at 4am - EEK!!!

Safety first on the plane, we went through the safety book, and got ourseleves seat-belted in for the 10 hour flight to Cancun Mexico, so exciting!!! Hotel 'Barcelo Costa' here we come ....

Day 1 - first things first, time to sunbath, suncream & sunglasses at the ready!! Over there we had to get used to all the different money - we could use USA Dollars, and Mexican Peso's. Julie took us to the beach at our hotel - it was lovely - white sands & blue sea B)

Day 3 - Julie took us out on a day trip - we went to Tulum, this is an old Mayan Ruin site - the ruins are off a city that dates back to the 1500's. It was on the coast so was used for trade, as well as being very well protected. From there we went to Xel Ha - this was an amazing Ecological park, you can swim with dolphins, roack, jumping, chill on the lazy river in a ring, and snorel around the whole site, reefs & caves - the sea was full of wildlife - all kinds of fish just swimming around you as you float through the water! As well as the wildlife in the water at both places we saw loats of Iguana's just wondering around - they are very common over in Mexico - we managed to get quite close to have pics taken too, would of loved for one of them to become a toyvayoger like me!!

Day 6 - Today was shopping day, we went around the busy part of Cancun & saw some clubs & pubs - Co Co Bongo's is the best club there, the club was taken from the film 'The Mask', and each night has live shows of acrobatics, Circ De Solais and music .... something quite original to normal clubs!

From there we went to 'Bubba Gumps Shrimp Co' - have you ever seen the film 'Forrest Gump', well Bubba was charactor on that & he talked of running a shrimp restuarant ... so the whole place is filled with memorabilia from the film, they play the film all day every day & have the menu suited to the film too - it was awesome, we had the best coktails there!! And when you go outside, you can sit on the bench just like Forrest Gump off the film - with his trainers on, box of chocolates & suitecase - this was one of my best moments of the holiday!

Day 7 - Today we went to a proteced Barrier Reef just off the coast of Cancun to do some snorkeling - it was so lovely, we got a boat through the lagoon, and then out to sea - beautiful!

Enjoy the pictures .... sad to be back in England as weather is horrible - so windy & cold outside, and tonight the clocks go back too, this means going to be allot darker in the evenings now:(

Lots of Love Rob  :p
