Hi out there !
I arrived safe in Germany - and I am very happy to be outside the envelope again. They are all happy to see me here - you can see two other TVs on the second photo. Carlisle arrived a few days ago and we will have a nice time together here. So I will never be alone. SunnyHH will go on a trip to Greece today - so it was great luck to meet him. In the afternoon we will bring him to the post - then I can see some of the nature. Viele Grüße aus Deutschland (my first words in German) many greetings from Germany Miily |

Hi Mum,
today I exlplored the garden. The colorful bird is very funny, I think. Then I was allowed to feed the birds outside. After that I looked at the nice little flowerd. The spring is coming in Germany. |

Hi Mum,
we were in Hamburg - it is the second-biggest city of Germany. We were a little travelgroup and had a lot of fun together. That's me in front of a lake called Alster. And the trees were so beautiful. I loved them. This is the beautiful townhall of Hamburg. At the end, we visited the port with many big ships ! It was such a nice sunny day. |
RikeH Posted Apr 11, 2009, 8:05 pm |
We were in a nice park.
There was a big lake and many nice trees and flowers. I really liked it there. Happy Easter !!! |
RikeH Posted Apr 13, 2009, 12:55 pm |
Today it is Easter - and I meet the Easter Bunny...
and some of his friends. We all get a chocolate egg ... then we search Easter Eggs in the Garden and after it, we have a nice cake. It is a funny day. I LOVE Easter !!! |
RikeH Posted Apr 16, 2009, 4:37 pm |
Because we ate so many chocolate Easter Eggs, we had to do some sports. And decided to make a tour with the bike.
We stopped at a nice lake. Then we visited the village, where Rike lives. It has a nice church... and a beautiful old school. Springtime in Germany is great - I think, I love to be a ToyVoyager ! And I learnt a few German words today lake : See Church : Kirche school : Schule |
RikeH Posted Apr 26, 2009, 11:08 am |
Today Super Grover arrived here.
We all were very excited and showed him our nicest tree in the garden. Then we celebrated his arrival with a cake. |
RikeH Posted Apr 26, 2009, 11:25 am |
We went to Bad Segeberg. There is a big lake - and Polki wanted to meet ducks. Rike told us, that ducks are living there.
First we sat in front of a nice fountain. Then we visited the church. After that we walked to the lake. There is a monument of an indian - can you see it? |

Hi Mum,
we started our trip to Helgoland. Helgoland is a German island in the North Sea. Well known for the healthy air. We went there with a Caramaran, called Halunder Jet. You see me in front of it, and then all of us inside the ship. It was fun ! In the afternoon we made a walk on the island – to visit the famous cliffs. On these cliffs are many birds. The one, that stands alone is called ‘lange Anna’. After the walk, we all relaxed in the sun…. And in the evening we relaxed at home. |
RikeH Posted Apr 27, 2009, 8:12 pm |
We went to the pier, and took some photos there.
We have a new friend now – called BineHH. She lived on the island, but decided to become a TV, too. Then the ship came. After it we visited the city – maybe only a village, but with colorful houses. The beach is beautiful here – we saw some seals. They were very loud. The lighthouse is wonderful. What a nice day. In the evening we had a party, to welcome BineHH. |
RikeH Posted Apr 28, 2009, 12:53 pm |
Today we had to leave Helgoland, but we had time to make a walk.
We played in a buoy. In these cabins people changed their swimsuits many years ago. Can you find me on the photo? On the way back in the Catamaran we had fun looking out of the windows. We saw ships and a nice part of Hamburg, called Blankenese. Rike told us, that the rich people live there. |
RikeH Posted Apr 28, 2009, 12:56 pm |
It was time to say goodbye to Carlisle and PinkyHH.
We all were very sad, especially PinkyHH and I, because we are both bears and had a lot to talk about. Gute Reise Euch Beiden ! (my German gets better every day !) |
RikeH Posted Apr 29, 2009, 11:59 am |
We visited a new town today - it is called Bad Oldesloe - and Rike went to school here.
It has some lovely places. Behind the fountain is the Townhall. |
RikeH Posted Apr 29, 2009, 12:04 pm |
In the afternoon - a new ToyVoyager arrived.
He is called Murph and really funny. He talked a lot - and we had a nice evening, talking about all our adventures. |
RikeH Posted Apr 29, 2009, 12:08 pm |

I've finally arrived in Australia. :-) Not much to do today it's very overcast outside... which Sara seems to think is nice but apparently it's been very sunny, and after a very sunny and hot Summer she's finally ready to see some Autumn and Winter... oh well! I've met two other toyvoyagers, and a stay-at-home toyvoyager Sara has... well I'm going to rest for a while I'll update again soon! Miss you mom!

We all took another trip to Bathurst today and we were able to spot some kangaroos... sadly we couldn't see them very well... see how far away they are? You can just see one between the tree and the bush in the photo I'm in...
...and here is a close up of the kangaroo in the above photo... obviously he didn't want to face the camera for the photos... maybe he's a bit camera shy? ...what you're missing is Sara making noise to try to get him to turn around for the photos... finally she got him to look in our direction, sadly it didn't last long... ...on the way back to the car Sara spotted two others, behind a chain link fence, so not that great of photos... but here are two others. The one on the left side is very noticeable and Sara has seen many times... he's got odd eyes... but he's quite cute isn't he? The second photo is a close up of him... Well that was that... Sara's going to Bathurst again soon so hopefully we can see a bit more of the city next time... write again soon! |
sararingham sara.ringham@gmail.com Posted May 28, 2009, 11:23 am |
We've been driving a lot lately going out of town... and what seems like going everywhere around New South Wales for job's and a bit extra money here and there... well today we took a road trip as far South as Yasswhich is just above of the Australian capital territory... Sara's only been to this area of New South Wales a couple times...
Sadly since we were on a very tight schedule we couldn't do any sight seeing today... here are some photos of us on the main street... Finally we found what we wanted... the Westpac bank... time to go! Write again soon... at our next stop! |
sararingham sara.ringham@gmail.com Posted May 28, 2009, 11:28 am |
Next stop was an even smaller town called Cootamundra... again we couldn't get any photos in the main bit of town, it was a very quick stop... even quicker than the stop at Yass but we had to get back on the road... here are some photos while in Cootamundra driving around...
Write again soon! :-) |
sararingham sara.ringham@gmail.com Posted May 28, 2009, 11:41 am |
Next stop we were given a bit more time to sight see... we got to see the big sign welcoming us to the town... we are now in Young! The cherry capital of Australia, hence the very large cherries you see in the photo...
...here's a better and more straight on photo of the sign... ...and here's some photos of us in the main street of the city: ...and lastly we got to pay our respects at the local war memorial... can you see us? ...how about now? ...well here's an even closer photo of us... it was very very very windy... so a few of us took flight and Sara had to catch us and put us back on there to get our photo taken... If you want to read what the plaque says here you go... ...and here are all the names... amazing isn't it? Lastly there was this really nice plaque on the ground, it was very pretty... it says Lest We Forget... Well that was it... we also made a stop off at Cowra which was our last stop before heading back home... sadly no photos were taken but here's a photo of us on the highway heading South towards Canberra... That was a big day! Write again soon! :-) |
sararingham sara.ringham@gmail.com Posted Jun 9, 2009, 1:54 pm |
Today is Sara's son's 3rd birthday... so we helped out in making the cake... for being allergy free (no gluten) it's actually really yummy!
|
sararingham sara.ringham@gmail.com Posted Jun 9, 2009, 1:59 pm |
One of the big reasons Sara hasn't been taking us out lately and doing updates is she's been very busy, and the change of seasons (aka a drastic change in temperature) has caused Sara to get a bit sick... along with everyone else in the area... this hasn't changed much though she's still got to be up every day, cleaning, and taking care of her husband and her son... so we've not been doing much... hoping we can do something soon...
Although in the mean time, Sara looked outside tonight, and noticed something on her car... not much by any means but what is that? Snow in June? Seriously?! It still surprises Sara (since she's from Washington - safely in the NORTHERN hemisphere) haha... really early even yet for any snow... it was August before we got any snow last year. Not much though, obviously it's no blizzard, but a big thing this early in the year... it's been raining HEAPS lately! Lots of wind and rain... it's been crazy! It's definitely been cooling down, and it'll be a cold winter in Orange I think! |
sararingham sara.ringham@gmail.com Posted Jun 13, 2009, 3:42 pm |
Today we visited Bathurst... this time it was a bit more rushed than normal, but we still checked out one of the biggest reasons people drive all the way out West... for the Mount Panorama race track, which holds the famous Bathurst 1000 which stops the nation every October, and makes everyone in the Central West quiver with fear as there are SO many people that come from all over just to see the races... it's a mad house in October...
I got to see the now famous Peter Brock statue that was unveiled last year at the races. He died a day or two after the famous Steve Irwin died... he's famous for winning the most races at this track... he's won 9 races at this track. Tragically he died in a qualifying a few days before a race, not at this track though thankfully... although there have been a few deaths on this track sadly... and some, not human... ...Sara took us up to an over pass section just near the entrance of the track to take some photos up there... Sara's not great with heights but she did it anyways, here I am looking at the starting gate of the track... quite fancy yes? ...and of course I can't visit Mount Panorama without seeing the famous 'Mount Panorama' sign on the side of the mountain... apparently when they were making this sign in the 70's someone messed with the rocks that used to make up the sign and made it say a bad word... which they then published in a newspaper, quickly realizing their mistake, had to gather all the newspapers which had already been delivered before the morning. Kind of a funny story none the less... haha... Sara found this a bit funny... when she got up there there was a tractor on the track... Finally, we got to take a ride on the track itself... if you look at the ad's on the side you can see some accidents that would have happened. Towards the end of the photos, you can see a blue sign that says "Falken" it's got a huge gash in the cement... that happened last year in a non fatal accident thankfully... and when you see the 'Holden' signs and then the drop, that's the top of the mountain that you can see from the Mount Panorama sign photo that I'm in if you look closely... :-) Anyways, here's the photos: So now you've seen the track up close and personal, it doesn't look like much but I can promise you at the speeds they go it would be kind of scary! Especially that drop, it's quite a tight turn after the drop as well... pretty exciting... now many V8 tracks you can drive on. Funny enough, sometimes people have to drive on part of the track to get to their houses, and there's a TAFE (community college) right next to the track as well. Not to mention quite a lot of vineyards... Sadly since the kangaroo view area that we go to is close by this area, sometimes there are kangaroos that are hit on the track while the race is going on... pretty crazy, quite a few near misses as well! Poor things! Sadly this time we didn't see any kangaroos when we went and searched for them! Ah well! Write again soon mom! Miss you! |
