Hi, I'm Archie, the travelling lion.  Soon I am going to be released somewhere in Vancouver.  If you find me, please update my travelog with pictures and commentary of my journey.  Feel free to find me and then pass me on, or take me travelling with you.  I do have some life missions, and if you could help me accomplish them, that would be great!

Archie was released in the Rose Garden next to the Chan Centre for Perfoming Arts on the University of British Columbia campus.  Good luck on your journey!

I have been working hard up at UBC.  I have been studying, drinking coffee, touring the campus.  I am deciding what my major should be - either engineering or art history....

After 4 long days, I have finally got my degree!  A joint major in art history and engineering.  So, to celebrate I have decided to go traveling somewhere where I can enjoy both art and incredible feats of engineering.  Au revoir!

I am in Paris!!  I went to the Arc de Triomphe.  This is me underneath the arch - quite a feat of engineering!  And, I also saw the Eiffel Tower - wonderful.  I went to the Louvre to see some art and found this beautiful statue of a lion - from XIV BC.  He was not very talkative for a lion - but he is pretty old.  In his younger days, 10 or 11,000 years ago, he was probably really chatty.

Here I am in Versailles - the great palace outside of Paris.  As king of the jungle, I felt right at home at the house of another king.  You are not supposed to sit on the grass in the gardens, but I slipped by unnoticed!

I have traveled to the Rhine in Germany.  I am trying to fit in with the locals, so have been hanging out on the river and tasting wine.  My first wine tasting!  But, when I asked for a bowl instead of a glass, they looked at me very strangely.

On my quest to find a real lion, I visited Luxembourg.  Their national symbol is the red lion.  But, I did not see one when I was there.  Better luck next time.  I did, however, scale these fortifications and had a nice spot of lunch (no humans, don't worry).  Cheers until next time!
