Today we drove to Enzklösterle. At first we played Adventure Golf and had a lot of fun.
Then we had lunch at a restaurant, where the Krippena is located. We saw the world largest wood carved Christmas crib and a Christmas tree. |

Dear Mommy,
Today I arrived in Rüdersdorf. My host Jen welcomed me nicely. She helped me to get out of my traveling envelope and patted my head to welcome me. I have showed her the postcard you wanted me to give to her and she has been happy. I also was welcomed by two of my host's TVs. Well actually they told me they are just plushies, but they got curious and consider to start their own travels soon. See the girl above? She's a little lady. The first thing I noticed was that she likes jewels. I hope she won't be bitchy. Well, she welcomed me nicely and so did my new buddy. Have a look at this: The two of us got along from the very first moment. We acted like we would have a little buddy fight. It's been such fun to move after having to travel in that little envelope. Haha and I tried to do a good leapfrog, but I failed so I accidently jumped onto my new friend. I'm glad that he wasn't mad. After we chatted away for a while, Jen took me out to her yard. There she showed me some strawberry plants. It's been interesting to see green strawberries. My host told me, they still would have to grow, before we could get them. Hmm... I'll wait! Now I'm really tired from my journey and from getting to know so many new friends. I'll go to bed soon. My new friends and I will share a room so I bet there's going to be a little more chatting, before we will fall asleep. I love you, Mommy! Please don't worry about me. My host is pretty nice and she takes good care of me. She also told me we might travel to Heidelberg on Friday. If we'll go there, I'll make sure to have her take some pictures of me. |

Hi Mommy,
My host took me along on a weekend trip to Heidelberg. Heidelberg is located in Baden-Württemberg and it's known as a university city. About 20% of its inhabitants are students and its university is the oldest on German ground. It also is a very old city. We have travelled by train and our departure was from Ostbahnhof, Berlin. We didn't travel first class, so we had to share a cabin in the train with 4 other people. The cabins were made for 6 people, but since my host was in the company of her mom, we already took two seats. (I prefered to remain cuddled up to my host.) We arrived in Heidelberg in the late afternoon. Our hotel was located in the area Ziegelhausen and we got welcome candy, which was placed on our pillows. I had the candy first, because it was yummy. The hotel crew also was very sweet. They all welcomed us warmly. First of all I've checked the hotel room. It wasn't very big, but it didn't matter. It was comfortable to stay in there. I was curious about the bath room. The quality of a hotel room often shows by how clean the bathroom is, but our's had been very neat. Most of all I liked the view from our little balcony. It's been so great! It's been such a hot day and we all were a little tired from the journey, so we decided to just enjoy the view from our hotel room, get some rest and check out the mini bar. My host isn't much into alcohol and we decided it would be better to have non-alcoholic drinks, so we went on orange juice. Later on we went out to buy some postcards of Heidelberg. We also had dinner at an Italian restaurant, but it wasn't very delicious. However the night view from our balcony was absolutely great. There were lots of lights and it all looked very romantic. Sadly that's the best picture I was able to take: |

Today has been my second day in Heidelberg.
We had to get up early and after we have had a shower, I went to have breakfast in the breakfast room of the hotel. Afterwards I left the hotel together with my host, who took me onto a little bus trip. We rode from Heidelberg Ziegelhausen to the Old Town of Heidelberg. Since no one of us knew the way, we had to figure it first. It turned out that it had been the best solution to go to the station "Bismarckplatz" first. We arrived at the station "Bismarckplatz" soon and went to search for a bus, which would take us to the station "Universitätsplatz", because we wanted to go to the local University and it's located there. (In winter there also is a huge Christmas fair at this place.) It has been a hot day, but all of a sudden the sky turned dark and it started to rain heavily. That's why it was hard to get decent pictures. Either the pictures turned out so dark that no one could have seen the buildings, or I had too much flashlight all over my tiny body. I already have mentioned that the Old University of Heidelberg is the oldest on German territory. The Ruprecht-Karls-Universität has been founded in 1386. A really old building, huh? I'm saying "Old University", because I found out there's a new one, too. One could see a few people carrying umbrellas, but a lot of them (we included) got surprised by the rain. After we had enjoyed the sight of the Old University, we wanted to check out the new one, in which the students are studying nowadays. Do you see the covered building? It's the new university. We have asked a nice man on the street and he told us there were constructions going on so that's why we couldn't see it very well. After we have been to the Universitätsplatz, we walked around and found this: It's an old alley called "Steingasse" and the flags you can see have different meanings. For example we have the flags showing various tools. Those are old symbols for guilds and the shops or workshops. Other flags we often were able to see were those, which symbolized the students' fraternities. We had wondered about those before someone told us that those students' fraternities try to move into the nicest buildings in the area and use to hang up their flags. [img][/img] The "Steingasse" also leads to the "Old Bridge" of Heidelberg on which we could see this: It's a memorial of "Karl Theodor" (1724-1799), who led re-build the formerly destroyed bridge made of wood, by using stones. That's a picture which was taken on me on the "Old Bridge". In the background you can see the famous "The Castle" of Heidelberg. When we have been all soaked up by the rain, we returned to the hotel and I insited to have some peanuts with salt and honey. It's been a nice day and I enjoyed to see a little bit of Heidelberg, although I hope to go there again, bringing more time to visit more sights. |
Sammy Posted Jun 18, 2010, 3:30 pm |
Hi Mommy,
Sadly there's not much to say about my last day in Heidelberg. I wanted to write a postcard to you, so I got the one I had picked for you on my first day in Heidelberg and started to write. My host also wrote postcards and I was surprised because she wrote nearly 30 postcards. Then we had to check out. We drove to the central station of Mannheim, from which we have started our journey back to Rüdersdorf. |

A new Toy Voyager arrived here today: TobiHH. My new friend was travelling with lots of snow and ice so I thought I'd show two pictures of us.
We were playing with the nice cold snow. It's been fun, because lately the weather got pretty hot over here. |

FIFA World Cup 2010
Today's been the game Argentina - Germany. Our host took us to the home of her parents. There we watched the game on the big TV of her dad. TobiHH and I so wished to be able to play with that ball as well. I'm sure it would have been fun. Because it's been such a hot day, I decided on apple spritzer. The cold soda has been really refreshing. |

I decided to take part in the Big German Round Robin and I'm really curious to learn more about the Federal States of Germany. At first I had to read about my own Federal State Baden-Württemberg. I had to learn, that there are 16 Federal States and Baden-Württemberg is the third largest of them and is located in the southwestern part of the country to the east of the Upper Rhine. 10.7 million inhabitants live here. The state capital is Stuttgart. The sobriquet Ländle ("small land" or "dear land" in the local dialect) is sometimes used as a synonym for the Swabian part of Baden-Württemberg, but I live in the Baden part of Baden-Württemberg. The capital city of this part is Karlsruhe. I really tried to go there, but the weather was so terrible, that my mum said, that we will go there, when I'm back at home again. This sign says, that we can everything - except High German Here's the coat of arms and the flag of Baden-Württemberg. I read some statistics about Baden-Württemberg, too. There are many administrative divisions. There are two low mountain ranges in Baden-Württemberg: Schwäbische Alb and Schwarzwald. On the photo you can see Kraichgau and the green Rhine valley. I live at the border of Rhine valley to Kraichgau. Maybe you heard about Stuttgart 21? It's about the railway station in Stuttgart - and it costs a lot of money. Baden is the brown coloured part in the next map. One famous cake is the Schwarzwälder Kirschtorte - the Black Forest Cake. |

Hi Mummy,
I arrived in Remscheid in North Rhine-Westphalia today. Nosyblue and I were happy that it was such a fast trip. Another ToyVoyager, Easy and my new host Katja gave us a warm welcome. The weather outside is not good, so we stayed at home today. In the early evening I met Katja's newest pet, ferret Manfred, who moved in four weeks ago. Manfred is a predator like I am, so I'll have a close look at his food. I heard that my host is a veggie, but ferrets are not veggies Bye Manganinnie |

Hi Mummy,
in the late afternoon we took a walk in the city. We went to the district Hasten, one of some historic districts of Remscheid. Katja told me that you have been here already when you visited her Here you can find many traditional houses. These are timber-framed houses or they are covered with slate, sometimes you can find both in one house. Both types usually have green shutters. This Patrician villa, built in late 18th century by a rich factory owner, is a museum nowadays. You can see how people lived than, it is furnished in it's original style. From here we walked to the municipal park. Katja showed us this memorial, dedicated to the dead of several wars before WW I. An observatory is also situated in the park. There is a small pond in the park, ducks and turtles are living here. There is still some ice left! We left the municipal park to walk home. We came along another park, a really small one It is situated in front of the police headquarter. The pillar is showing the coat of arms of Remscheid and its twin city Quimper in France. In this quarter there are also lovely old houses. In the background you can see the tower of the city hall. Almost home ... We are living here at the moment, opposite of the park. When we look out of the kitchen window, we can look across the park. Bye Manganinnie |

Hi Mummy,
today we took a walk in the morning with Katja's friend. We parked the car close to a hotel above motorway A1. Only a moment later we reached Eschbach dam, Germany's first dam to be built for drinking water supply. It was opened in 1891. Soon we left the path around the dam, we came to a rural area with a good overview to the Southern districts of Remscheid. We also walked through a forest, enjoying the spring sun in a soft moss bed. Later we reached the dam again and walked around it. It is not too large, you need about 40 minutes to get around it. In the background you can see the concrete dam and the hotel. This was a nice trip, now we only want real spring! Bye Manganinnie |

Hi Mummy,
having capricious weather today we stayed at home and helped Katja to cook delicious jam. She bought pineapple, oranges and physalis. We already prepared the jars. First all the fruits were cut into small pieces ... ... than mixed in a large bowl ... ... and cooked with gelling sugar. Soon we had several glasses with a delicious jam. Bye Manganinnie |

Hi Mummy,
today finally we had better weather. We met one of Katja's friends to take a walk in the surroundings of Remscheid. So we went to the district Rath to pick up her friend. Rath is a district close to Morsbach valley which partly is the border to the neighbour city Wuppertal, but there are also more Remscheid districts at the opposite side of the valley. We went towards the valles and left the housing area. In Morsbach valley you can find a lot of industrial complexes, partly historic ones and also newer buildings. Industrialization startet here in middle ages with smitheries and tool producing companies. In the outskirts you can find those lovely houses. Soon we reached another forest. At a restaurant we found this funny sign We saw fish ponds in the valley. These are tinder fungus, a special sort of fungus which is growing on trees. This lovely house belongs to a museum estate. We followed the valley along the creek ... ... until we reached another lovely hamlet, hidden in the valley. Even here we found an historic factory building with distribution grounds. From here we had to walk uphill for more than 40 minutes to get back home. Bye Manganinnie |

Hi Mummy,
today my host was really busy, but at least we took a few photos when we went home at lunch time. This is the city hall with its tower, about 48, high. Close to the city hall you can find a water tower, for drinking water supply for the people in the city centre. Bye for today Manganinnie |
olgamaus Posted Apr 25, 2013, 7:48 am |
Hi Mummy,
today we met a friend to take a walk which would lead us to the outskirts of the neighbour city Solingen. There is an historic district, Solingen-Burg, close to Remscheid. Burg is divided into two parts: Unterburg in the valley and Oberburg uphill with a beautiful medieval castle. In Unterburg we found lovely houses along a really steep street. Finally we are having springtime! Soon after we started our trip it started to rain, so we decided to walk back to the car. Katja showed us this old church mit a very special graveyard next to it. The church was opened in the 1730's years. This is river Wupper, if we had followed it we would have come to Muengsten bridge. To get back to the car we had to walk uphill for some time. River Wupper was still visible. Later we stopped at a supermarket to buy a few things. Bye Manganinnie |
olgamaus Posted Apr 25, 2013, 7:53 am |
Hi Mummy,
in the late afternoon we took a walk to a nearby valley. Those finally blooming trees really cheered us up! In the background you can see the outskirts of Wuppertal. When we went to the valley we looked out for a flock of galloway cattle. Soon we found them. Along the creek in the valley you can find remains of historic water-driven forging plants. Taking a walk in a valley always means walking uphill to get back home in the end Here we crossed a railway track. Bye Manganinnie |
olgamaus Posted Apr 25, 2013, 9:30 am |
Hi Mummy,
Katja's son visited us for breatfast, later he accompanied us on a walk in the district Hohenhagen. To get there, we walked through the city centre, we also came across the station. Hohenhagen is a housing area with many dwellings built in the 1960's and 1970's years. It was enlarged than a few years ago. It is surrounded by woodland areas and rural areas. Can you see the city centre with the tower of the city hall and the water tower in the background? Again we had to walk uphill for nearly half an hour. The city centre of Remscheid is situated on top of a hill. Along the steep slopes of the hill you can often find allotment gardens like these. In the background you can see outskirts of Remscheid and Wuppertal. We hurried home than, we were hungry! Bye Manganinnie |
olgamaus Posted May 5, 2013, 4:54 pm |
Hi Mummy,
unfortunately my host is having problems with her left achilles tendon, so we were not able to take any excursions last week. Today the weather was so great that she could not resist to got out with us. We decided to visit Muengsten Bridge, Germany's highest railway bridge. Muengsten Bridge is overspanning the valley of the river Wupper, connecting Remscheid and the neighbour city Solingen. The parking lot was close to a creek, Morsbach. We found information boards all along the path, this one is about hydro power and landscape. This is river Wupper, flowing towards Muengsten Bridge and later mouthing into river Rhine. Soon we reached Muengsten Bridge. The bridge was built of steel in late 19th century, it is 465 m long and 107 m high. You can find more information here, in German. The bridge is so wide that it is nearly impossible to take a proper photo of the whole bridge. Of course our host knows the location where she could take a halfway proper picture. On our way there we had a look at the leisure park which was built under the bridge some years ago. You can find large lawns with benches for relaxing, playgrounds for the kids, a crazy golf course and riddles. An artist blacksmith is working here. He made fantastic sculptures, like this shark. Although it was quite early there were already lots of people enjoying the fantastic weather in the leilsure park. Due to a lack of rain river Wupper has a low water level. We relaxed in the sun and nosyblue got a froral wreath made of daisies. Here we took the perfect photo We went along the hiking path than, seeing the bridge really often through the trees. You can find engraved rocks along the path, here we saw hand patterns. Here we crossed river Wupper. We decided to not walk back along the slope of the valley, but to stay at waterside level and take the ferry back across the river. Even in late 19th century there was a ferry service to cross the river! The ferry is not a boat, but sort of a cabled ferry. It is crossing the river by muscular strength. By using the ferry we shortened the way back, now we went through the leisure park again. We found a machine which makes souvenir coins out of 5 ct. coins. Katja made one for each of us This was enough for our host's damaged foot Bye Manganinnie |

Hi Mummy,
today we went to Hasten, one of the historic districts of Remscheid. You can find a lot of traditional old houses here. We reached a museum area than, containing the German Tool Museum (Deutsches Werkzeugmuseum) and Haus Cleff, showing life in 18th and 19th century. There are also large outdoor facilities. There are also several large machines placed in the garden. A water wheel is hidden between the two huts, but unfortunately you cannot see it on the photo. Hi Mummy,
today Katja's ToyVoyager Willy W. told us about his adventures in Japan. He came home yesterday. We were so jealous! Katja's son came for breakfast and brought bread rolls for us. We enjoyed breakfast with fruits, coffee, honey, peanut butter and several jams. |

Hi Mummy,
as Katja still should take it slowly with her hurting leg there is nothing exciting going on. When we go to work in the morning, the sun is shining into those blooming trees, the only time of day to take such a photo In the morning we had good weather, in the afternoon it was raining cats and dogs. Bye Manganinnie |

Hi Mummy,
we visited the exhibtion “Garten Leben” (garden (&) living) today in the neighbour city Solingen. It was taking place in the palace garden of Schloss Gruenewald. You could see the most interesting things around gardening. Flowers and other plants of course, decorating items, barbeques, all sorts of fire places, exclusive furniture for balcony and patio, also handmade jewelry, intesting food, spices, cheese, handmade clothings .... These flowers (when the plant will be blooming) are supposed to smell like licorice! It was a rainy day, but we were lucky to visit the exhibition between two cloudbursts Bye Manganinnie |

Today I arrived in Sülfeld at Dicker Kumpel's home. He gave me a warm welcome. Dicker Kumpel introduced me to his other guests here. Of course I showed my postcard and the chocolate I brought with me. Later I spoke with Claire and Nathalie, because I visited their Mum and told them all the news from home. Love Manganinnie |

Hello Mum,
Today we went to the church St. Michaelis. We went there by bus. The church is called Michel and it is one of Hamburg's five Lutheran main churches and the most famous church in the city. St. Michaelis is a landmark of the city. We decided to go inside. It was beautiful. Look – the big organ. I love the interior. What a nice white church. Outside I saw this big bell. Behind me you can see the town hall of Hamburg. We went back home by train. Love Manganinnie |

Hello Mum,
It was an awful weekend. We had so many plans – and then we had rain all the time. Maybe it was a bad idea to travel to the North of Germany. The only nice thing of the weekend was the meal on Monday. I got some delicious self-made Sushi. Maybe I will try to learn how to create it? But it is much nicer to sit here with my friends and have a nice meal together. Yours Manganinnie PS : The green thing called Wasabi was so hot!!! |

Hello Mum,
I decided to look what RikeH is doing, when she is not at home. So I went to a place called work. It seems to be important to know the correct date here. I talked to some friendly guys. The view out of the window was not amazing – I think I will stay on Dicker Kumpel's blue armchair instead of going to work. This weekend will be great – Dicker Kumpel's best friend Murph will come and visit us. Yours Manganinnie |

Hi Mum,
Today Murph and GustavHH came and visited Dicker Kumpel and us. When we arrived in the living room BineHH, PieksiHH and TobiHH sat on the table and told us that they had a surprise for all of us. Of course we went into the room – we love surprises. They had drinks, muffins and more delicious things to eat for all of us. A party – this is great! I found a great place between BineHH and PieksiHH. Cheers! Then it was time to eat. I had a yummy muffin and a delicious burger. Later this evening we all had fun and sang wonderful ToyVoyager-songs. It was a wonderful evening! yours Manganinnie |

Hello Mum,
Today we took a walk around Sülfeld. First we stopped at an old channel. The weather was better than it looked on the photos. I liked this small lake in the middle of the village. Behind me you can see the old school of Sülfeld. Here is the emblem of Sülfeld. The church of Sülfeld is beautiful – but it seems to be renovated at the moment. On the other side of the street is the pharmacy. Many greetings Manganinnie |

We were on our way into the South. We took the ICE- a very fast German train. Look – our speed was 199 km/h at this moment. Later we drove 250 km/h. This was great. I looked out of the window – the weather was not so nice in most parts of Germany. And there were many tunnels on our way. We will spend some days in Bavaria. I will write more soon. Hello Mum,
We visited the town Amberg today. It was raining – but it was raining for a long time in this part of Germany. There are heavy floods at the moment. This was a nice place – I think the market place. Look – can you see the high water – normally there is only a small river. This is a famous building in the city. I went nearer and it was really beautiful. Love Ninnie |

Hello Mum,
Today we drove around Neumarkt. The first stop was a nice church with an interesting cemetery in Pilsach-Dietkirchen. All graves have wrought-iron crosses and roses. Unfortunately we were too early for the roses, but I liked the beautiful crosses. The interior of the church was nice, too. Later we went to the ruin called Wolfstein. It was so big and high on a hill. I saw Neumarkt fom there. We played on the pillory. But of course I know that it was a serious place in the Past. I loved this ruin! Tomorrow we will drive to Switzerland. Keep your fingers crossed that we will have a safe trip. Some trains were already cancelled because of the heavy floods here in Southern Germany. Yours Ninnie |

Hello Mum,
Good luck for all of us. The trains to Austria were cancelled, but we were able to drive to Chur in Switzerland. We were happy and decided to enjoy the trip without photos. But then we passed this Lake. Surely you don't know the name up to now. We all sat together, because we wanted to see the sign together. Maybe you can see it – on the sign is the name Lindau. We passed the Lake Constance. Yours Ninnie |

Hello Mum,
Switzerland welcomed us with sunny weather. We took a train called Bernina-Express today. We learnt a lot about it in this little brochure. It is a Unesco World Heritage running along 122 kms of track, passing through 55 tunnels and over 196 bridges and viaducts. We had a look at the map. We found a great and sunny place then we started. I met a friendly Capricorn in the train. There were nice mountains with snow outside. RikeH tried to take single photos of all of us, but the train was too fast – and it was impossible to get nice photos for all of us – so we decided to sit together and have photos together. RikeH apologizes for it. Can you see the viaduct behind us? Look – wonderful green meadows. We came into the mountains. Later we found out that it would be better to look out of the window, and not laughing into the camera all time, so we moved and looked out of the window. We drove about his viaduct, too. Next to the street – and our train - was a big river. We saw the head of the train before us. I love Switzerland. Look – I was in one of the tunnels – it was the longest on our trip – called Albulatunnel. It is almost 6000 m long – on a height of more than 1800 m above sea level. Sometimes the street was next to us. Then we came to the highest part of the trip. Ospizio Bernina is more than 2253 m high. This lake was so beautiful. Another view of the front part of the train. We went lower - and saw more green again. Later we went near to the border to Italy. But this was still in Switzerland. And here you see the circular viaduct of Brusio. It describes a 360-degree curve. Soon I will tell you about a visit in Italy. Love Ninnie |

Hello Mum,
As you know we took the Bernina Express. It stopped in Tirano in Italy. We had only 1,5 hours, but saw a lot of nice buildings. I started next to the fountain on a nice place. I found nice flowers. Some days ago we were in Germany – and there weren't blooming roses. I liked the house with the beautiful balcony. And there was a nice church. Tirano has nice buildings. And some parts with older houses. I like most this old tower. There was a river in the city. Then it was time to drive back to Chur, where we started. Behind me you see our train. It was time for our meal. Then it was time for looking out of the window. A viaduct again. And we saw snow. It was a great day – in the hotel we were tired. Good night, Mum! Ninnie |

Hello Mum,
Today I explored the town Chur. Chur is the oldest city of Switzerland. It was nice and sunny weather. I started in front of the town hall. This beautiful church is called church of St. Martin. This is the gate to the episcopal Castle. The cathedral of Chur. I had great views over the city. There was a nice place called Arcas. Another gate – it is called Obertor. I relaxed in a nice garden. At home it was time for a cake. I shared mine with Manganinnie and Pepita. The others had a tart with carrots. It was so yummy! Later that evening we heart some music and went out. Look – this was our very nice hotel. Yours Ninnie |

Hello friends,
Surely you remember our trip in the Bernina-Express. Today we took another train – called Glacier Express. Like the last time we read our little brochure. It looked interesting, too. It was a nice train. I like the mountains with snow on the top. We drove high again and saw a lot of snow. The landscape changed during our trip. It was great – we had our headphones and learnt interesting facts about Switzerland. We passed many small villages. This was a deep gorge. We had to use a rack railway, because it was so steep. We arrived in Zermatt in the late afternoon and hopefully will have a great time here. Yours Manganinnie |

Hello Mum,
We were in Zermatt – and had a room with a nice balcony. We sat in the sunshine and talked. What a wonderful view! First we thought about climbing up that hill – but it was time to relax. Later RikeH came and told us that we will drive with a nice train to a place called Gornergrat. Good luck for me – I found a place next to the driver of the train. We went higher – and there was snow again. Then we were at Gornergrat – and saw the Matterhorn – maybe the most famous mountain of Switzerland. We all wanted to have a group photo in the snow. I wanted to have one more with snow AND the Matterhorn. There were other beautiful mountains next to it. This was the view to another direction – amazing! There was a small chapel on the mountain. I sat next to it. Look – this was the train – called Gornergratbahn. On our way back to Zermatt we all sat in the bag of RikeH and had a lot of fun together. But at the end I had to jump out of the bag – because I LOVE this mountain… What a wonderful trip. Yours Manganinnie |

Hello Mum,
When we came back from the Gornergrat, we took a walk through the village Zermatt. We started in the old part. There were many old houses. Behind me you can see how they were built. The funny construction with stones and wood should help against mice. I met a Capricorn – normally they live in the mountains, but this one prefers living in the village. And we had fun with this group of marmots. This is the church of Zermatt. What a nice day! Ninnie |

Hello Mum,
It was time for another mountain. Today we took three cable cars and went onto the Kleine Matterhorn. The trip was really interesting. I had a great view back into the valley. Then we were on the Top of the mountain. Next to it was another nice mountain called Breithorn. I loved it here. Behind me you can see the Matterhorn again. We were happy to see it, because only one hour later it was behind the fog or the cloud. It was amazing to sit at this height. Look – I was about 3883 meters or 12739 feet above sea level. Before we went back to Zermatt we visited the glacier paradise. A place where I learnt a lot about glaciers – and saw nice ice sculptures. The ice crystals were amazing. And this was one of the best moments of the holiday – I climbed the Matterhorn. Can you see me on the photo? Love Ninnie |

Hello Mum,
After seeing so many mountains, it was time for a change. We drove to Luzern, a city next to the Vierwaldstättersee. We jumped onto one ship and took a trip over the Lake. There were many mountains around – but I didn’t want to climb on one of it. I loved the views and the beautiful hotel there – it must have been a castle in the Past. The lake is so big – it has a big Island. We stopped at a lot of small villages. We stopped after 1,5 hours – and took another ship back to Luzern. It was called Schwyz. On the way back I had great views again. It was a nice afternoon on the Vierwaldstättersee. Yours Ninnie |

Hello Mum,
Today we explored Luzern. First I climbed up a hill and had a great view of the city. Behind me you can see the Vierwaldstättersee. I walked on the old wall and saw this wonderful tower. There were nice places with old houses in the city center. And this is the famous place of Luzern – the Kapellbrücke. Maybe this is a nicer view? There were old paintings on the bridge. Look – a wonderful church. We went into it. I had a wonderful time in Bavaria and Switzerland – but now it is time to go back to Germany – and celebrate Dicker Kumpel’s birthday there. Love Ninnie |

Hello Mum,
It was Dicker Kumpel’s birthday today. He got a blindfold. Then he was allowed to look. We all sat in front of and sang a birthday song for me. Look – Dicker Kumpel received a present from his friend Murph. All he need for a Candlelight Dinner with Kleine Fee. This was a great idea! Birthdays are nice! Then we had a party with coke, fruits and burgers. It was a wonderful birthday party! Love Ninnie |

Hello Mum,
I went to Hamburg – this is a nice lake in the city called Alster. There was a big fountain on it. The town hall was really beautiful. This place is called Alsterarkaden. Then I went into a big mall –the Europapassage. Have a look at the arches. It was funny – I saw the arch from above, because I went to RikeH’s working place. On our way back home we stopped at another mall – the Levantehaus. Dicker Kumpel told us that there were nice sculptures of wild animals. And he was right. It was amazing. There was a bear like Gozer! Back home I went into the garden – and found this wonderful blossom. Do you know what plant it is? Love Ninnie |

Hello Mum,
Today we went to the Port of Hamburg. You can see so many ships there. This sailing ship is old and called Rickmer Rickmers. This is a monument from people from Vietnam. This is another old ship – there is a museum on it. Do you know this monument – it is called Elbphilharmonie. It is really often in the news, because the building costs a lot more than planned. I loved the red ship – it is called Feuerschiff – and it is a restaurant now. It was a nice day here. Yours Ninnie |

Hello Mum,
I am in the North of Germany – and love the music here – it is called Shanty. Today there was a Shanty-Choir-Meeting in Travemünde. So we went to Travemünde. There was a beautiful beacht. This Buddha was so funny. Then it was time for the music. I knew many of the songs – and sang with the choirs. Look – I saw a big ferry. And a wooden sailing ship. But this is the famous ship here in Travemünde – it is called Passat. There was a big ferry wheel – but it started to rain, so we didn’t took a ride on it. Although it was raining we all loved these beautiful flowers. Dicker Kumpel told us that you see this big hotel really early, when you arrive in Travemünde by a ferry. It was time to go home, so we went to the old train station. We had fun on our way home and sang nice songs like ‘Rolling home’. Love Ninnie |

Hello Mum,
We took a trip by bike to this nice place today. It was a group of big boulders. This was a very big granite. We all relaxed on one of the boulders in the sunshine. Many years ago trains used this way – I saw photos from the Past. Love Ninnie |

Hello Mum,
It was my last day here in Sülfeld. I played in the garden. There were many beautiful flowers. And I love Nessie, the funny monster with her fountain. Look – a beautiful red dahlia. More nice flowers. And these yellow flowers were so beautiful, too. We sat together and relaxed on Dicker Kumpel’s swing. It is such a beautiful place! Then I had to say goodbye to Dicker Kumpel. We became close friends. All gave me a big hug! Now I am on my way to HoBi and Murph. I will write soon. Yours Ninnie |

Hello mum,
Today I arrived at Murph’s home. I showed Murph and Matcha my postcard. Although it was very hot, we took a walk along a river. Bine had a new camera and wanted to try it out. We found wild thyme. It was really rare here. And we saw beautiful trees and flowers. It was a really wonderful river. Then we went into the forest. We wanted to search mushrooms. And we found a lurid bolete, even though it was so dry. This mushroom grows in the summer time, when it is really hot. Unfortunately I don’t know the English name for it. I only knew these flowers in gardens. At the end we found bitter beech boletes. It is rare here, but it is not eatable. We urgently need rain, because we want to find more mushrooms. Keep your fingers crossed for us! Many greetings Manganinnie |

Hello mum,
it is a hot day today. Nevertheless we took a walk. There is a big castle in Derneburg. In the forest was a small teahouse. So many stairs… Unbelievable – there exists a pyramid in the forest inside of Germany. It is the grave of the former owner of the castle. I liked this house. There were small houses of fishermen next to many small ponds. It didn’t look like one – but this was one of the fish ponds. This region is really beautiful. Greetings Manganinnie |

Hello mum,
today I took a look at the hometown of Murph. Here you can see the emblem of the town. Bad Salzdetfurth is an old miningtown. And you find memories of this time everywhere. There are 2 big salines in the spa gardens. The people used it to produce salt in the past. I really loved this beautiful fountain. This is the famous place of Murph. It is called Summstein – you sit inside of it and bumble. Then the whole body prickles. Very funny! Next to the Summstein you see the colorful pigeonry, but I didn’t see pigeons. Bad Salzdetfurth is a really nice city. Until soon Manganinnie |

Hello mum,
Matcha is so excited. Maybe he will complete one of his life missions today. It is so hot and too dry here. But maybe we will find mushrooms – so let’s start. First we found this big mushroom. Sadly Murph didn’t know its English name. There were many butterflies in the forest. And here they were! Unbelievable! We found velvet bittlegills. They were very yummy. Matcha was so happy! The first basket was full. Will we find more? We found one ruby bolete. We allowed it to stay in the forest. Wasn’t this map butterfly beautiful? Mum, it has to rain. We want to find more mushrooms with Murph. Keep your fingers crossed for us! Many greetings Manganinnie |

Hello mum,
Wow – what was this on Bine's arm? It looked interesting. A music festival! Imagine that, Bine didn't want to take us with her! But we convinced her that we should come with her – and here we were! It was the Mera Luna on the airfield of Hildesheim. There were so many people – and most of them wore black clothes. We went to the stage – the music started! Wow – there were really many people! We urgently wanted to go back to the stage and hear music. It went dark, so we were not able to take more photos – Bine's camera was not able to do it. But we hadn't the time for photos. What a wonderful event! Many greetings Manganinnie |

Hello mum,
today we visited the Park of the Abbey Lamspringe . In this mill they produced mill for the abbey many years ago. This sculpture is so funny. This is the church of the abbey. Really big! Criminals got this ring around their neck in the past – and were in the pillory. What a wonderful park! Many greetings Manganinnie |

Hello mum,
Will there be more mushrooms? It was still very dry. But the big surprise: many lurid boletes. They were too big for our baskets! But look – unfortunately there were many grubs in it! So they had to stay here Can you see it? The mushrooms went blue! But these here were good. The name is dotted stem bolete. They were very yummy – but too big for us. Holgi took them home for us . Will this mushroom be yummy? Murph told us to smell it! Ugh, the mushrooms smelt like vinegar. The bitter beech boletes are not delicious... …but very beautiful! At the end we found this rare mushroom. Unfortunately we don't know its English name. At home we cleaned the mushrooms! Tomorrow we will have delicious mushrooms! Until soon Manganinnie |

Hello mum,
Today it was Matcha’s last day here in Bad Salzdetfurth. We took a long walk through wonderful landscapes. Unfortunately the blackberries weren’t ripe, because we would have loved to taste it. Didn’t this meadow look wonderful? There should be many butterflies and rare flowers here. This here was really interesting. It is a Robin’s pincushion. Insects grow inside and stay there during the wintertime. In Lower Saxony you rarely find juniper heathlands. The common juniper pricked. But it was very beautiful. This plant is rarely to find in the wilderness here, too. It is the chiltern gentian. Then it was time to say goodbye. We had a really nice time together. We wish Matcha a fast and safe journey. Until soon! Manganinnie |

Today it was my birthday. Murph lit up some candles for me and he sung a wonderful song. Then we had something delicious to eat – and surely we had a drink, too. It was so yummy. Later we had chocolate as dessert. It was a wonderful birthday. Many greetings Manganinnie |
