Dear Misagan... I'm here! In San Diego, California. I just met Carolyn and 2 of her daughters, Phoebe and Naomi. What a trip!
They took me outside and gave me a snack. It's a very nice place! |

Hello again,
We went on our first trip out! We went up to the Long Beach Comic Book Convention right by Los Angeles! The first picture is of me arriving. Then we went in and met Seth Green... He's not a real werewolf but he played one on TV (in Buffy The Vampire Slayer!). Then there are many photos with me and my hosts posing with R2D2 from Star Wars, the Predator from the comic and movie series, and some other strange characters. After all that Carolyn brought me to meet her friend Ben Glendenning who drew my portrait on a turtle!!! What a day! |

I had a wonderful day visiting Phoebe's second grade class. I made lots of new friends! I really liked reading stories, going to the computer lab and sliding down the slide at recess. I am hoping that she brings me back to school tomorrow so I can work on one of my life's mission. |
Carolyn Posted Oct 10, 2009, 9:35 pm |
Hi,
Sorry it's been a few days. I've spent most of the week at Phoebe's class and started on one of my Life Missions! I was learning about different fairy tales with wolves in them. So many stories. Any way today I went out into the city with Carolyn and her family. First we went and decorated some pumpkins for Halloween (a big holiday that is coming at the end of the month!). Then we saw a drum concert. The group is called Naruwan Taiko, and they do an interesting kind of Japanese drumming. It was so great and exciting! At the end we even got to see the drums and play them. Today was fun! |

Hi again,
Today I went to Namoi's kindergarten class. She has many nice friends and a very nice teacher, named Mrs Pincus. After I met everyone, there was a very scary "Earthquake Drill". Which means that we practice what to do in case of earthquakes (I guess there are lots of them around here!) Anyway Naomi and I hid underneath her desk for a while. It was exciting at first, but then, like lots of things about school, it became pretty boring. I will have more pictures this weekend... I promise! Love Marshall |

Hello Misa,
Today I worked on one of my life's missions by spending some time with Mike (Carolyn's husband) while he did his work. He is a fantasy artist and here you can see him doing some quick touchups to one of his pieces. Hope you are good, I'll write again tomorrow!! love Marshall |

Hi... Today we went a a great hike near Carolyn's home. It's gotten much hotter here since I first arrived, but this happens in a place like San Diego.
Here I am all ready to go. (We bring the parasol, as the sun is very intense here). Just as we are leaving I met up with Carolyn's cat Isabella. She is a Spanish speaking cat they adopted as a kitten in Argentina. She is very friendly. You can read more here if you like. This is the start of the path along the San Diego River. It's a natural preserve in the middle of the city. The tiny white dots on the water are really big white birds! There were so-o many lizards running about, but they are scared of wolves like so many other are-so I couldn't get very close. I know I'm hard to see in this picture, but I'm sitting on the wall next to Phoebe! We were getting hot and tired so we rested for a bit. Here we came to a little break in the path. Now we are heading back. This is a nice mural. I'm sitting next to a little tree! After such a long hot walk, we decided to rest by the pool. Whew! what a day! |

Hi Misa,
Today we went out to Balboa Park to the Art Museum. Balboa Park is a big park with many museums, The San Diego Zoo, and lots of other things to see, so I was very excited! Here I am in the garden when we arrived! This is outside the museum. This is a great sculpture of a man wrestling a horse. Aack!! And then he got me!!! No- I was just kidding... I'm okay! This is an interesting sculpture inside the front hall. Then after this they said "No Flash Photography". Here I am in the museum cafe in front of an interesting sculpture. Here I am in the sculpture garden... No those buildings don't lean! Carolyn's camera has them crooked... That's the globe theater behind me. On our way out we took this shot of the botanical building. Carolyn says we can go in next time. Cheers! Marshall |
Carolyn Posted Oct 23, 2009, 1:41 am |
Hi -guess what? Two more toy voyagers arrived today! First it was "Midnight Sneaky Puss" from Ohio, and then... "Yakety Sax"from British Columbia, Canada. We're all so-o excited! |
Carolyn Posted Oct 25, 2009, 12:16 am |
Hi! Today we all went out to "The Learning Store" to do some Halloween crafts, then we walked around a bit. I saw an incredible shark, but he was more scared of me than I was of him. Afterwards we bought Halloween costumes for Carolyn's daughters! It was a busy afternoon! |
Carolyn Posted Oct 25, 2009, 11:27 pm |
Hello! Guess what? Today I finished one of my life's missions! I went to to the central library in downtown San Diego and read all about fairy tales with wolves in them.
I started this project with Phoebe's class at Jones Elementary. We read "Little Red Riding Hood" , about a "big bad wolf". Then with Carolyn, Naomi and Phoebe, we read "the Three Little Tamales" also about a "big bad wolf". I was unhappy, because I am not so bad, so at the library I found some books I liked.... "The True Story of the Three Little Pigs" was my favorite! It was about how those nasty little pigs set up the poor wolf and ruined his life. "The Red Wolf" was great. About a little princess who turned herself into a wolf to be free of her overbearing father. And "The Big Bad Wolf is Good" was also a good book about a wolf who's tired of his "Big and Bad" label and rescues a little duck. The library was great! I can't wait to go back! |
Carolyn Posted Oct 29, 2009, 4:50 pm |
Hi again,
Yesterday we headed up to Del Mar for a workshop. We decorated sugar skulls for "El Dia de los Muertos" (Day of the dead). We start off with just a big skull made of molded sugar. Then we decorated with icing and sparkles. In Mexico they eat these, and I really want to, but Carolyn says they are just "decoration".... Oh Well. Then we walked down through the city to the ocean. The Pacific Ocean sure is windy!... Such a nice day! |
Carolyn Posted Nov 2, 2009, 9:38 pm |
Hi there!
We've been so busy with Halloween here. We went trick-or-treating all over the city! What fun, and look at all the candy! Now that the girls are busy in school I'm going to eat it... bye! |

Hi there!
Yesterday we took the trolley down town to the waterfront. I sure liked riding on the train! While I was there I saw Cinderella's Carriage! Just like in the fairy tales. The train station had some beautiful tiles on the wall. What a nice trip! |
Carolyn Posted Nov 16, 2009, 7:52 pm |
Hi
We went back to the park yesterday. I got to ride the carousel! Then we walked through the Spanish Village. It's full of artists in their studios. I even went inside a sculptor's studio. After this we went over to the botanical building! This time I went inside! So many interesting plants! Later outside we found an elephant bush! The we found some very interesting sculptures! The park was great! |

Hello Mum,
today I arrived at RikeHs home. I get a warm welcome from Dicker Kumpel. Then I met the other TVs who stay here at the moment. We ate the sweets I brought with me – and talked a lot. We went to a Christmas market on a nice big farn house. Here you can see it. It was raining..but I talked to a brown snowman, who didn't melt. Here you see me inside the old stables, where the people sold their beautiful things. On the way back we saw another view of the house. RikeH told me that I will see more Christmas Markets soon. Mum – they think that I am a sheep here – and I think that is funny. I will live here as a sheep for a few days – and then I will tell them that I am a wolfe. This will be fun!!! Love Marshall |

Hello Mum,
Yesterday Kasper arrived in Germany. Dicker Kumpel introduced him to us. We will make a trip together next week. But today 3 of us make a short trip to Hamburg with RikeH. We went there with a new train. We looked out of the window – it is a beautiful winterview – I am not sure, if you can see it – but I saw it. I visited the place, where RikeH works – there are some funny guys. I helped RikeH to do her work. Look, what I wrote : This man is very famous in Hamburg – he is called Hummel. Can you see me? We found the first Christmas Tree : Outside we saw a much bigger Tree. Some views of the Christmas Market in Hamburg. We went back home and started in the main train station. There are wonderful lights, too. What a great day! Love Marshall |

Hello Mum,
Today is St, Nicholas Day in Germany – maybe all over the world. We don't know that. It means that you have to clean your boots – and put them next to the door. Then they will be filled with delicious sweets. We all wanted to do it, but we found out that we don't have boots and were very sad. But then we found out that RikeH's Mum helped us – and bought this beautiful boot for us. And we loved the sweets inside. Mum – I must tell you something important – a sheep-girl arrived two days ago. They still believe all that I am a sheep – and I wasn't able to tell them the truth. Well I like this little sheep-girl – please tell me, what should I do. Look at her on the photo – what a beauty! In the afternoon – after eating a lot of sweets, we visited RikeH's mum – Hummel. She had a lot of Christmas things – so we could make a lot of photos. First with the Advent wreath. A friendly nutcracker. Beautiful things out of wood. Then we visited some angels – some of them are an orchestra and play wonderful music. Here you can see all of us with a very famous person – Rudolf the red-nose reindeer. He is living here – what a great place. And I sat next to him. It is so exciting! Bye Marshall |

Hello from the Airport,
Today we start our trip to London. I am so excited. First we took two photos inside the Airport. Then we went outside and watched the airplanes. And now I am IN one of the planes – it is amazing!!! I was able to look out of the window – we were really high above the ground. Here you see all of us together! In the evening we arrived in our new home. But we were too tired to make more photos. Yours Marshall |

Hi Mum!
We started to explore the city of London. And because of the great weather we jumped into the London Eye. Here you see me inside. This is me on front of one of the other cabins! We had so much fun - and after the 'flight' we went to the houses of Parliament with the tower called Big Ben. Later we had this great look at the London Eye. We saw the changing of the Horse Guards. At the end we made a stop at Trafalgar Square – but it was too cold to take a bath in the fountain. What a great day in London! Love Marshall |
RikeH Posted Dec 9, 2009, 8:33 pm |
Good morning Mum!
We will visit the Queen today – or at least watch the changing of the guards in front of the Buckingham Palace. This is normal for tourists – there were hundreds or maybe thousands, but only a few ToyVoyagers. Well, on our way to the Palace we saw the Parliament again – this time it looked even better – so we made another photo. After it we went through a park – some of us saw squirrels. We reached the Palace. Although we were very early, there were so many people. You can see me in front of the Palace: And this is the monument next to it. Then it started : many musicians came and some guards. After the ceremony we went to visit the Tower of London. On the way we found Julius Caesar. This was me in front of the Tower: We saw the juwels of the Queen, but we were not allowed to take photos inside. But we found this friendly knight. He was so nice and hold me in his hand. And you can see a part of the Tower Bridge behind us. Before we went home we had this great view of the Tower Bridge. Back home we talked a lot about our adventures. We have a strange white Christmas Tree here. Maybe you remember that I the others thought that I am a sheep. I just didn't find the right words to tell the others the truth. Especially Mandy Sheep would be very scared. But – hm – this is one of my life missions – so maybe I should tell her the truth now? We are sitting here – and the others on the other side. Maybe I should do it now??? „Ähem – Mandy....“ But suddenly the others came to us and Dicker Kumpel asked me about my sometimes strange behaviour. Hm – maybe I am not such a good sheep, Mum? I decided to tell them that I am a wolf and not a sheep. First nothing happened – but then most of them cried : A Wolf??????? Most of them were very scared, only Lucan was cool – and stayed next to me and talked with me. I told them that I am a friendly wolf and didn't find the right words to tell them that I am not a sheep. Well that is not a problem. Now they know why I was such a strange sheep – and they call me their friend, Marshall the Wolf. What another exciting day ! Hey Mum, this was funny – and I fulfilled one of my life missions – I scared a sheep - and a bunny – and a rat – and a giraffe. I am the best!!! Greetings Marshall |
RikeH Posted Dec 12, 2009, 6:36 pm |
Hi Mum,
We started our day and bought a ticket for a big bus. This was fun. First we decided where we wanted do go to. We drove over the Tower Bridge. We all love the Tower Bridge. When we went into the Hyde Park to visit the Christmas Market. It is called Winter Wonderland here. We saw a nice place where people danced on ice... that is strange... Hey, we met some Santa Clauses – I thought that there is only one in the world? In the evening we ran around in the flat – and wanted to show some more of the funny things in this house. Look in the staircase. We had two funny tables in the flat. The round one shows a map of the busses in London. The other one had a plan of the Tubes on it. Dicker Kumpel showed us, where our nearest station was. A pillow from London: A curtain of London: and a funny teapot. Maybe the British people are sometimes a little weird??? But I like it here. Greetings Marshall |

Hello Mum,
Another sunny day in London. We started it in a wonderful market hall. We saw this very big monument – called the Monument. Hey – all of us in front of the Tower Bridge – we love the Tower Bridge!!! This wonderful church is called St. Pauls Cathedral. We went on a boat trip on the river Thames. It was dark outside – and we asked RikeH to made a last photo of us in London. You cannot believe where we wanted it. It is such a wonderful bridge. We had such a great time in London. But tomorrow we will go back home to Germany. Yours Marshall |

Hello Mum,
We went to Hamburg today – because Dicker Kumpel wanted to show us a cruise ship. He will make a cruise on it next summer. How amazing. First we had a look over the port. And I saw the River Elbe, Mum! The ship on the right side is the one for Dicker Kumpel. It is called Albatros. I thought that would be a better name for a plane... We saw two other ships. The Rickmer Rickmers and the Cap San Diego. On our way back we saw these beautiful Christmas decorations in the main station. Love Marshall |
RikeH Posted Dec 26, 2009, 6:48 pm |
Merry Christmas Mum,
On the 24th of December the people celebrate Christmas in Germany. In the North it is Santa Claus, who brings the gifts, in the south it is the Christ Child. Because we are in the North, normally we have Santa Claus – but this year it was different – just have a look. This is the Christmas Tree – I really love it! Under the Christmas Tree there were many Christmas Cards from all over the world. Another nice Christmas decoration! We all sat together and RikeH read the Nativity story for us. It is about Maria, Josef and their child Jesus. What a surprise – I were able to visit them – in a stable... Then the important time of the evening came. The gifts!!! Four Christmas people came – a Christmas Bear, Rudolph, the famous Rendeer, a big Snowman – and Santa Claus. Hm – Santa Claus??? It was a Santa Bunny. Maybe because Dicker Kumpel is living here? Well, I told a Christmas-poem and Santa Bunny brought me a present. I opened it – some sweets. I love Christmas. When we all got our gifts, we sat together and sang the wonderful German Christmas Songs. I especially loved ‘Stille Nacht, Heilige Nacht.’ I hope that you had a nice Christmas time, although I didn’t celebrated it with you? Love Marshall |

Hi Mum,
We have winter here in Germany now. I looked out of the window and saw the snow. I had a great idea – I should build a snowman. It was hard work for a little ToyVoyager like me. But look, he is great, isn’t he? Snowy greetings Marshall |

Hi Mum,
because it was so cold outside, we decided to play darts. RikeH helped me to throw the darts. Wow – I was great. And I had fun playing in the dartboard. Mum, you can be proud – I won. And look, my price was a very big bar of chocolate. Greetings Marshall |
