The view of my host. |

A walk to the harbour. On the way to it, there`s a statue of two little bears. I hope they aren`t hungry! ´
There I am at the entrance of a ship. Here is a picture of me with a big ship in the lock. A restaurant on the water. |
YellowBunny Posted Nov 28, 2011, 3:04 pm |
Here I`m helping my hosts with making cookies.
The first candle on the advent wreath! And the Santa Claus was there, too! |

Today we were on the Christkindles Markert:
Here I am with a traditional Mail Coach. They`rs riding around the Market. There`s the Beautiful Fountain: when you turn the ring, you can wish you something! I don`t know if it`s true! Here is the next picture: The Christkind!! The big wings and much gold! This is the little sister of our Christkind, the gold foil Christmas tree angel. It`s the symbol of our Christkindles Market. The next picture: The big gingerbreads! They are very delicious, I love them!! The Prune Men, the most popular souvenirs. You can buy them as a soccer star, gardener or many, many more. They were made from figs and walnuts. The best food of the Christkindles Market: It can be eaten alone with two or three sausages in a bread roll or with sauerkraut or potato salad. |

Here I am with a "Schwibbogen". It`s a round candleholder of wood.
The advent calendar of my hosts family. Every day, until Christmas Eve, you open one of the doors. It`s filled with chocolate, sweets, pictures, little toys or other things. It`s usually for children, but in this family has everybody one, even the dog! Today is "Sankt Nikolaus". It`s an old custome, that you put your (cleaned!!!) shoes outside, and in the night comes the Nikolaus and puts sweets and chocolate into. That`s my little "Sankt Nikolaus" of chocolate. I`m going to eat it all alone!! |
YellowBunny Posted Dec 15, 2011, 8:06 pm |
This week I went to the classroom of my hosts.
With a blackboard, many posters and (of course) a latin book! |
YellowBunny Posted Dec 20, 2011, 4:06 pm |
Here are the cups, which you can buy at the Christkindles Market.
They`re filled with glowwine, that`s hot billberry wine with cinnamon and cloves. Every year you can by a cup with new print. Yesterday I visited the Nuremberger castle, where you have a great view. And I helped to pack the gifts! A hard job! |
YellowBunny Posted Dec 23, 2011, 12:01 pm |
The towm hall in Forchheim is the biggest christmas calendar of the world. Every day they open a window and put a picture behind the glass.
This is the crib in Forchheim. And we were playing in the snow!! But on the next day all was away again. Here I`m sitting in a aviary. But it doesn`t taste good, only nuts and raisin! |
YellowBunny Posted Jan 1, 2012, 12:45 pm |
Here is the christmas tree with all the gifts.
You open them at the 24th in the evening. That`s my own gift!!! In the evening we all opened our gifts. I got a scarf. And we had a traditional christmas goose with potatoe dumpling and red cabbage. |
YellowBunny Posted Jan 8, 2012, 2:01 pm |
On the 6th of January we`re in Pottenstein, there is every year on epiphany a torchlight procession.
That means they walk with torchs through the village to the church. |
