Hello there,
Today we went out in the cold and the rain to visit Maryborough with some family. We stopped in Kyneton to have a cuppa, then went on to Maryborough - we had a quick look at the station then went on to the Highland Club for lunch. See the funny man with bagpipes?? We drove up a hill and went up a tower I could see trees for along way. We then went on to Tarnagulla and saw iron bark gum trees.

Today was a cold and wet and windy day so we were inside - Some of Sues friends came over to do their scrap booking - one brought her sewing. In the evening we went pout in the cold to Quilting and Friendship group and saw a beautiful quilt one of the ladies had finished.

Today we went for a walk with the chow - it was cold and frosty but we saw lots of trees, gum trees, wattle trees (one with yellow flowers) a kowhai tree (it comes from New Zealand Sue told me) and a hebe, which comes from NZ too and another one with yellow fruit - we don;t know what that one is but we liked it! We saw oak trees too - they have their brown leaves because it is winter.

Hello! :D

Today we drove to Hanging Rock - Sue was hoping to show us a koala but the Ranger said there were just 3 or 4 koalas in the reserve. We looked up high in the trees but couldn't find one anywhere. We walked up to the top and had a great view though. Lots and lots of trees and strange rocks. There was a story and movie made about Hanging Rock years ago - a group of school girls and their teachers had an outing there and two of the girls went missing and were never found again. A bit spooky huh!! :( We were safe though :p)

Today was an at home day and we did some cooking - we made fruit and nut muffins! Yum! We put in 2 cups self raising flour, a handful of  dried nuts and fruits (we had gogi berries and sultanas) 6 tablespoons of sugar, 1 cup milk, quarter cup melted butter, 1 egg, we mixed it all up and put it in the muffin pans - we had turned the oven on before and heated it to 200 degrees C - then we put the muffins in to cook for 15 mins. They looked and smelt wonderful! :D

After the netball we drove to the city and went to the Craft and Quilt show - we didn't get a photo at the show because there were lots of people- it was very crowded. When we were leaving we had a look at an old sailing ship outside called the Polly Woodside.

This afternoon we went out in to the garden to help put the prunings on the rubbish heap - it is a lovely sunny day but very windy. We found the first daffodils in flower and i had a look at another gum tree -this one has red flowers but they won't come until summer.

This weekend we have been to the beach! We had one sunny day and one wet day. We went for a walk to the shops and saw some gum trees and trees Sue thinks are teatrees that grow near the water. We had a good time out and about!! :D  We found a really nice camellia flower in the garden when we got back and I had a smell of the jasmine - was beautiful but it made me sneeze!! :p

Posted Aug 10, 2011, 4:40 am
On Sunday we went for another walk and we found some gum nuts -  :D they come on the tree after the flowers and some late gum flowers! We were lucky to find these as most of the gum trees have finished flowering. B)

Hello again!!
Tonight we helped Sue cook dinner. We put a can of chicken and vege soup, a cup of mayonnaise, 2 tablespoons of lemon juice and 2 tbsp curry powder in a pot and brought it to the boil, then let it cool a little. Then we took the meat off a cooked chicken and put it in a dish - we cut up and cooked some brocolli and mixed that with the chicken. Then we poured over the soup mixture and put grated cheese and breadcrumbs on top. Then it went under the grill. Smelt really good  :cyclops: We served it up with boiled rice!! Yum!! :D

Love and hugs from  Australia
