Hello Mummy,
I have arrived safely in Wales where I will be staying with my new host. My host's son likes K'Nex and has built this ball machine rollercoaster thing out of it! |

Hi Mum,
We've come out today to Spaceport, in Seacombe on the Wirral. Here, I am learning about our planet Earth, and its tides. This is space trajectory game. There was a table with Star Wars replicas. Yoda I met. And R2D2. Upstairs, they had a Wallace and Gromit exhibition. This rocket is from A Grand Day Out. Curse of the Were-Rabbit. A Close Shave An Aardman rocket. That's The Shopper 13. We could get our hands on modelling clay. What is that? What are these we've created? I'm learning about the moon. I've had a grand day out! |

Hi Mum,
After going to Spaceport, we went for a drive on the Wirral. We came to West Kirby. The tide was out and we started walking to the little islands. I'm at the little island and looking back towards the mainland. The view towards the middle island. This is the middle island. Can you see the mainland through the gap? It seems a long way out. That building is on the third island, Hilbre but we didn't make it that far. It was getting late and we had a long walk back to the mainland. |

Hello Mum,
Today, we went to the Sea Zoo on the Isle of Anglesey. These fish swim too fast to get photographed clearly. These are flatfish. More fish! Sea anemones and things. Sea anemones can be quite pretty. These are brittle stars. A happy fish? There are seahorses somewhere in the picture. This is a board for visitors to draw their favourite sea creatures. The big aquarium has spiny crabs, and more fish. |

Hello Mum,
My host took us out for a bus ride or two. We sat on the top deck at the front of the bus. The weather looks a bit grim. It is a bit of a bumpy ride. That, atop the hill over there, is Criccieth Castle |

Hello Mum,
Today, we went to the allotment. My host has a new pond on her plot. What is my host going to do with those pumpkins? Doesn't this green broccoli/calabrese look yummy? |

Hello Mum,
Today, we went to Llandudno, a popular coastal town in North Wales. They have a cable car that goes up the big hill called the Great Orme. From the cable car, I saw the dry-ski slope and the toboggan run. There's a church and cemetary. This is St. Tudno's and the town (parish) is named after him in Welsh. We sat on the other side of the cable car for the journey down. There are trams that also go up and down the Great Orme There's Llandudno down there. On the Promenade. There's the Little Orme. There's the pier and a hotel. Had a pleasant day out. |

Hello Mum,
Today, we went for a woodland walk in Glynllifon, a country estate. We cross a bridge over a small stream. This is the estate house. There are gardens and water features.. Not only is the water cascading, it is also raining... A fountain (it was also visible from behind the cascade). |

Hello Mum!
Today we walked across Menai Bridge to Anglesey. The Menai Straits below are not the easiest to navigate. My host says that there is a very sneaky Geocache hidden here! Can you see the Britannia Bridge in the distance? We jumped on a bus to Beaumaris. This is Beaumaris castle. It has a moat! I sneaked between the railings for a better photo! Beaumaris has a courthouse. Charles Dickens was a visitor to see the trials. There is also a gaol but we didn't have time to visit it. Some of the hills of Snowdonia in the background. Beaumaris was host to a local Eisteddfod. The stones are part of the Eisteddfod. The pier and dock area of Beaumaris is being renovated and the boats are here temporarily. |

Hello!
Today, we've come to a castle built for King Edward I. This is Rhuddlan Castle. Tall towers! There's someone on top of the wall! Having a rest! We are on top of the wall. We can see for miles... Another rest in the ditch! The castle sits atop a hill! One of the towers of the outer wall. |
miapearl Posted Oct 11, 2011, 4:08 pm |
After Rhuddlan castle, some of us went to Talacre to see the lighthouse.
It could do with a lick of paint |

Hello!
To celebrate Clyde's arrival and also to wish some of us who are travelling to pastures new we shared a doughnut! |
miapearl Posted Oct 25, 2011, 11:27 pm |
Today, my host's son's school was closed due to strike action. So, we decided to go out to the zoo. My host took lots of photos.
I think these are a sea lions. It looks so graceful underwater. They swim quite fast and my host has trouble getting nice photos with them. Here are flamingos. They have a mirror to look in. This is a meerkat. There are a few of them here, but I hope I didn't frighten them back into their holes. They've come out again. This one is standing up. I'm not sure what type of ape this is. This one is going for a walk. This one is having a sit down. The water is green but there is a menace. An alligator... Squizzle's relatives are in this large cage. A tiger. We've come back to see the meerkats. There are also porcupines too. They are having dinner! A porcupine. This one is hungry. And so is this ape. I wonder if they can see the meerkats.. r look at the meerkats! And now this big cat, a snow leopard. There's two... And an emu.. |

Hello mommy!
Today we stayed at home, cause of learning but we had a lot of fun anyway! Me and Poppy have known ai's doll Pneumonia. She's something like model doll, her hands and legs are jointed so she can pose as well. Ai wanted to take some photos so here they are: Yesterday we booked tickets on the bus, cause we're going to Cracow on Thursday to ai's boyfriend. She want to take us in many historical places. We've bought Dr.Oetker's muffins (chocolate ones, that are filled with cherry jam), which we're going to bake on Friday as a sweet suprise Later we were reading 'The Master and Margarita' by Mikhail Bulgakov. It's brillant book. You have to read it, if you haven't done it yet. Also I've met ai's cat Kitty. She's very lazy, just sleeping all day. Tomorrow we're going to school, and have to get up so early - 5.30am! So wish me luck at school Your Happy Dog. |
