Hi mom!
Since last night it has been raining here. It's been quite nice actually, especially after the hot summer days (32 C). Katara told me that Pretoria falls in a summer rainfall season. Today we stayed indoors and Katara let me help her decorate some plastic containers that she wants to change into pots. She is thinking of maybe planting some herbs in them. Love you lots! Hase xxx |
Katara Posted Dec 15, 2011, 5:08 pm |
Tonight Katara was feeling creative so we made "pin-wheel wors sosaties" (sausage kebabs). We also prepared some butternut pumpkin to eat with it. The "sosaties" came out great and the sausage was juicy. Sweetie and I had a feast! Yummy!
Mommy, please send special greetings to Dr.Kröbner - I am missing him! Lots of love, Hase xxx |

You will not believe what I ate for lunch today - SUSHI! Katara ordered some from a Chinese take-away restaurant down the street. We had "Avo Maki", "California Rolls", and "Fashion Sandwiches". We put some wasabi on the sushi and dipped it in soy sauce. We ate it with chopsticks. There was also some pickled ginger - Katara said that you are supposed to eat it to cleanse your palette. |

Hello Mum.
Today I arrived safely at Bochum. When I came out of my envelope I was warmly welcomed by the other TVs. I met Snowball, Knöpfchen, Freddi, Hoppsi and Milk Chocolate. ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() After that I showed the others the things I brought with me. Snowball was very happy about the postcard and said thank you. She said that she will put it into her memory album with the photos and the postcards from the other TVs. ![]() ![]() Than we sat down onto the sofa. Milk Chocolate told us, that one of her life missions is to watch the movie “101 Dalmatian”. Because of that we had the idea to watch the movie. ![]() ![]() Snowball took out some popcorn for us. It was yummy and the film was great. But I don’t like Cruella De Vil, she was too scary. ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() It was a very funny first evening here in Bochum. I love you mum Your Hase |

Good evening Mum.
Today is the “Extraschicht – the night of the Industiekultur”. We were really happy to go there and decided to make the Duisburg route. We started our tour in the Duisburger inner harbor. Here were a lot of people who were listening to the music from the live bands, or who just wanted to relax and eat something. ![]() ![]() ![]() Look mum; I want to go all around the world. ![]() ![]() From the harbor we went on to the Landscape Park. There we could listen to music and when it’s getting dark, there will be a giant fire work. While we were waiting for the firework, we were looking around the park. ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() Here you can see some pictures from the amazing firework. ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() On this stage stands we saw the winner from the last “X-factor” season here in Germany. He made really cool music. ![]() After that we went on to Oberhausen to the theatre at the Niebuhrg. There we could see a lot of artworks and a fire show. The show was ok, but the best thing this evening was the firework on the landscape park. ![]() When we came back home, it was 3 o’clock in the morning and we all were really tired. So good night Mum |

Because this is the last day here in Bochum for Milk Chocolate and Hoppsi, we planned to go Bowling. It wasn’t easy to play with such a big ball, but it made a lot of fun. ![]() I needed this console to register our names ![]() Before we started to play, I cleaned the ball with a towel ![]() The ball is just a little bit bigger than I am and heavier, but I am strong. ![]() ![]() Phew, now I need a little break and something to drink ![]() ![]() This small ball is filled with talc powder. ![]() It was really funny to play bowling. After the game we went to the friends from Shilo to play some games together and to give Milk Chocolate and Hoppsi the chance to say goodbye to their TVs. ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() |

Hello Mum.
Today was a happy, but also a sad day. The happy thing was that a new TV arrived here for the America trip. We were really curious who would be inside, when we opened the envelope. Inside the envelope was a tiny bear called Sterni. We welcomed him warmly here in Bochum. ![]() ![]() After the welcome, he showed us the sweets he brought with him. ![]() Then we took a last group picture together, before Hoppsi and Milk Chocolate had to leave us. ![]() ![]() ![]() Hoppsi had to pack his bag, before they left. ![]() ![]() ![]() Then it was time to say good bye. We hugged them and wished them a save trip, before they went into their envelopes. ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() I will miss them, but I hope we will meet again one day. |

Hello Mum.
Today a new TV arrived. His name is Purple Tentacle. He is a very funny guy, whose main intension is to rule the world. Because of that we took out a Risk board, so that he could show us his plan to take over the world. First he told us, who had to take over which continent. I had to take over South America. ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() Then the battle started. First it looks good and Sterni could take Australia under his control. After that Purple Tentacle got the control over North America. ![]() ![]() ![]() But then our luck ends and we lost North America again. ![]() After a short motivation speech from Purple Tentacle, we started a new attack. In the end we took over the blue army and together with these troops we took over the whole world. Yeah we were so good. ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() |

Today was Freddis last day here in Bochum. It is sad that he had to go, but he told us that he is very happy that he could see his mum again. I could understand him, because the best place on earth is at home ![]() But before he left, we helped Shilo to pack the bags for our trip to America. All these things must go into these bags. ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() Look we are so good in packing bags. Everything fits into the bags. ![]() ![]() Then it was time to say good bye. We all hugged Freddi before he went into his envelope. We gave him a present, which he could give his mum when he arrived at home. ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() Good bye Freddi, I will miss you and I hope we will meet again. ![]() |

Hello Mum.
I am so happy because today started our trip to America. Very early in the morning we arrived at the Airport in Düsseldorf. Purple Tentacle guided us through the airport to the waiting area. We followed him around till we could see the airplanes. They were really huge. ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() On our flight from Düsseldorf to London were so many clouds, that we couldn’t see much out of the window. ![]() After a short flight from just one and a half hours we arrived at T5 in London. This is a really cool terminal here. Now we had to wait 4 hours before our next flight to San Francisco will start. The airplanes here were much bigger than the one we took before. ![]() ![]() ![]() While we waited for our flight we found this nice bear in front of the Harrods shop and this beautiful butterfly’s. ![]() ![]() Then our long flight began. We will be on the Airplane for over 10 hours, before we reach San Francisco. Here we were flying over Greenland. Before we could see the land there was a long while only ice to see. ![]() ![]() ![]() Time to drink some coke. I shared mine with Little. ![]() Here you can see our flight route. ![]() To kill some time. We were watching the movie “the Lorax” ![]() Finally we arrived at San Francisco. Here I am standing on the union square. ![]() We were so tired from the long flight that we went to bed very early. But tomorrow we will go and discover San Francisco. ![]() ![]() Good night Mum |
Shilo Posted Jul 23, 2012, 6:57 am |
Good morning Mum.
Today is our first real day here in America. I am so happy about it. After a great breakfast we started our tour on the union square. Look we found these cool looking hearts on every corner of the square. And can you see these wonderful palmtrees behind the heart. Now i finaly saw them and can fulfill my last life mission with it. ![]() ![]() ![]() Before we could start our trip to fishermen’s wharf, we had to buy some water for the day. On our way to the supermarket, I saw this cool looking house. ![]() Then we went to the cable car station. I was so happy that we will ride on these famous cars. Unfortunately it was so full on the cable car, that we couldn’t take a photo from our tour. But I promise we will take a picture of the cable car later. We went off at the Lombard Street. This is a very famous street because this street has very tight turns from the top to the end. ![]() ![]() We decided to walk the rest of the way to Fishermen’s wharf. On our way we climbed up a small hill, from which we had a wonderful view down to Alcatraz. It is a really impressive prison. ![]() We also saw this cool fire truck. You could make a tour over the Golden gate bridge with this car, but we didn’t want to ride on it. ![]() Finally we arrived at Fishermen’s wharf. Here we saw a lot of shops and it was full of people. ![]() We went down the pier, to have a look over the bay. From here we had a look at the Golden gate bridge at the end of the bay and we saw this see lions relaxing in the sun. ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() On our walk around the pier, we went into a Ship museum. The first ship was an old paddle wheel steamer. And on this ship we could see a lot of old cars. It was really cool. ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() Then we went onto the next ship. It was a beautiful old sailing ship. In the bottom of the ship we could see, a lot of things out of the history of the ship. What it has loaded and how the crew cabins looked like. ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() After that it was time to go back to the hotel. But before I forget it, here is the picture of the Cable Car I had promised. ![]() See you tomorrow. |
Shilo Posted Jul 25, 2012, 4:45 am |
Good morning Mum.
Today is our second and last day here in San Francisco, because tomorrow we will travel on to the Yosemite National Park. But I don’t want to talk about tomorrow, because we have planned a lot for today. After our breakfast, we started our tour at Fishermen’s wharf again. From there we planned to walk to the Golden gate bridge. I am so happy that I will walk on this amazing bridge. On our way to the bridge, we walked along the beach. Isn’t the view great from here? I could see Alcatraz and far far away the bridge. ![]() ![]() After a long way from an hour we are very close to the bridge. I am so excited about it and the weather is so unbelievable nice today. ![]() On the bottom of the bridge we arrived at an old Fort. Fort Point was build 1794 and was completed just before the American Civil War, to defend San Francisco Bay against hostile warships. The fort is now protected as Fort Point National Historic Site, a United States National Historic Site administered by the National Park Service as a unit of the Golden Gate National Recreation Area. We looked around the fort and then climbed up the stairs to the top, to have a look around from the top. ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() It was cool to look around the fort, but now it is time to move on to the bridge. But wait beneath the fort we found these interesting looking sign. A friendly old man, told us about the story behind this sign. Hopper is a true San Francisco hero. He is one of the many Golden gate bridge’s iron workers that not only risk their life each day maintaining this beautiful bridge, but volunteer to save the lives of lost souls attempting to end their lives jumping off the bridge. He saved 30 people in the time he was working at the bridge. When he noticed that waterfront joggers have a ritual of touching the fence at the dead-end of the sidewalk next to Fort Point, he had the bridge's sign painter make a sign with two handprints on it, and another sign with two dog paws, because one woman had her dog touch the fence. Now everybody is touching this sign. We also touched it, before we went the way back to climb up to the bridge. ![]() Mum I am standing on the Golden gate bridge. I am so happy and the view over San Francisco is so beautiful. But it was a little bit too windy here for me. ![]() After the bridge we walked on to the National cemetery. It was very impressive to see all this graves. We saw graves from people who fought in more than one war and survived them. And we saw a grave from a person who got the Medal of Honor. ![]() Before we went back to the hotel we made a short stop at the Palace of fine arts. This place was very special, because you had the feeling like you were in Greece. ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() It was a wonderful day here in San Francisco. I will always have beautiful memories of this city. But I am also excited to see the next stop on our tour through America tomorrow. So good night and see you tomorrow. |

Good morning Mum.
Today we were driving to the Yosemite National Park. There we will stay two days, before we will travel on to Death Valley. Here I can show you our car, we rent for our trip. Isn’t it huge? ![]() We were sitting comfortable on the backseat. ![]() ![]() ![]() On our way to the park, we saw this pretty lake and this cool view when we were making some breaks. But it was so hot outside that we didn’t left the car for too long. ![]() ![]() After approx. four hours we finally arrived at the Park. The first thing we saw here was a forest from burned trees and bushes. It was really strange to see something like this. ![]() ![]() ![]() We took the chance and climbed down a small hill, to have a first view over the park. ![]() ![]() Unfortunately we had to climb up the hill again, to go back to the car. ![]() After a while we arrived at Curry Village. Here you can see our cabin for the next two days. In front of the cabin stands a bear box. There we had to put all our food and shower stuff in, so that the bears won’t get them. ![]() ![]() Then we decided to use the time to walk to the Mirror Lake, to see the Sunset there. On our way we walked along the Visitor Centre. ![]() It was a long walk, but it was nice because we had a nice view around us. ![]() ![]() ![]() Then we arrived at the Lake, just right for the Sunrise. Unfortunately there wasn’t much water at the lake, so we haven’t the feeling of a mirror. But it was I nice Sunset. ![]() Next to the Lake we saw these cool towers. ![]() After the sun set of, it was quickly getting dark. And because we were afraid of bears and mountain lions we quickly went back to Curry Village. It was a long day and I am really tired. So good night and see you tomorrow. ![]() ![]() |

Good Morning Mum.
Today the weather was a little bit rainy in the morning, so we decided to visit the Mariposa Grove. There we could see the giant sequoias. It was really cool to see these huge trees. We learned that these trees don’t die from age, after thousands of years they easily fall over because they get too heavy. ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() And not only were the trees themselves giant, their fir cone were also very huge. ![]() In the Forest we found this cool rock. ![]() ![]() From the Forest we drove to Glacier point. When we arrived there the rain had stopped and the sun came out. From the viewpoint we had a great view over the park. ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() Glacier point lies 7214ft / 2199m over the sea-level. It was very windy so high above, so we were hiding behind these rocks to get some break. ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() After our short break it was time for us, to move on to the Tunnel View. Doesn’t this view is really fantastic? ![]() In the evening we planned to walk to the Yosemite Falls. On our way we stopped at this lake to swim a little bit. But the water was so cold for us, so we only hold our feed into the water. ![]() ![]() After a while we moved on, but then we stopped because we saw this Mule deer. It is so cool. ![]() ![]() And near the Mule deer we saw a real Black Bear. First it was scary, but then we saw the Park rangers and we started to relax. We were really sorry when we heard that the bear was hurt. We hope that the Rangers could help him. ![]() It took a while but finally we arrived at the Yosemite Falls. They were cool, but I think in spring they were much more amazing. ![]() Because the river bed was mostly desiccated we were brave and climbed through it to come nearer to the waterfall. It wasn’t easy but it made a lot of fun. ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() On our way back to Curry Village we decided to take the bus again. But we had to wait a little bit for it. ![]() Tomorrow we will move on to the Death Valley. It will take a while before we will get there. So we had to stand up very early. Because of that I want to get enough sleep. So good night Mum |

Good Morning Mum.
Today we will move on to the Death Valley. Shilo told us, that Death Valley is a desert and that it will be very hot there. Luckily we have air condition in our car. But before we left, we had breakfast. In front of the dining room we saw this black bear and we wanted to ride on it. ![]() Outside we saw a lot of squirrel. They were playing around and searching for something to eat. ![]() Then it was time to say goodbye to the beautiful Yosemite National Park. I had a great time here. ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() On our way to the valley we stopped at this wonderful mountain lake. It was so beautiful here. ![]() ![]() Later we stopped at another lake. This one was a lot bigger than the other and is called Mono Lake ![]() ![]() Here I am standing at the Padre Crowley Point. It is the memorial of the padre of the Desert. ![]() ![]() After six hours we finally arrived at our hotel in Death Valley. ![]() ![]() It is so hot outside that we didn’t want to stay outside too long. So we took the chance that the hotel had a pool and went swimming. It was a strange feeling to swim in a pool and have a look over the desert from there. We went out of the pool when the sun was going under. Even then it was very hot outside, but we wanted to take some sunset photos. ![]() ![]() On our way to the restaurant we saw this old fire truck. ![]() ![]() It was cool to see Death Valley, but I am very happy that we only stay here for one night. |
Shilo Posted Aug 5, 2012, 11:06 pm |
Hello Mum.
Today we stood up very early because we wanted to leave the Valley before it’s getting too hot. But even at 9 o’clock in the morning we have still around 100 °F / 38°C. I am happy that we will leave here and hope that it will be a little bit cooler at the Grand Canyon. But before we will get there, we have a long journey from around 6 hours today. Good bye Death Valley. ![]() On our tour we were looking out of the window. It seems like the road will end at the horizon. ![]() It was so hot outside and there were so many hills, that we had to make a break to give the brakes on our car the chance to cool down a little bit. Far away we could see a river. ![]() Oh no, on the horizon the sky is getting very dark. Some minutes later it was raining very strong and we couldn’t see much from the road. ![]() After 6 hours we finally arrived at our hotel near the Grand Canyon. When we opened the door to our room we were really surprised. It was not only a normal hotel room, it was a suite. So we started to explore our suite. We found a kitchen, a living room and the bed room. ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() But it was too early to go to bed, so we drove to the Grand Canyon and watched the sunset there. It was really beautiful. ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() It was a long day for us, but I am happy to see more from the Grand Canyon tomorrow. So good night Mum. ![]() ![]() |
Shilo Posted Aug 8, 2012, 10:34 pm |
Good morning Mum.
I have slept very well last night; the bed in our suite was very comfortable. But we had to stand up early, like the days before. Today we were planning to visit the Grand Canyon again and at noon we want to move on to Page. So let’s start. Right after our breakfast we checked out of the hotel and drove to the Canyon. On our way to the Canyon we stopped in front of the National Forest because we saw this cool bear. His name is Smokey and he helps the Park Rangers to prevent the forest from fire. ![]() ![]() Then we arrived at the Canyon. We started our tour at the Village Route Transfer. ![]() ![]() ![]() From there we took the shuttle-bus to the Trailview Overlook. Because the weather was so beautiful we decided to walk to the next Viewpoints. We walked to the Maricopa Point, Powell Point and Hopi Point. It was a distance from 1,5 miles / 2,4 km. It was getting so hot while we walked around that we decided to take the shuttle to the Mohave Point. ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() Then it was time to move on to Page. On our way we stopped at the Desert View. Here you can see the cool Watchtower. ![]() ![]() ![]() Before we left the National park, we stopped again to say good bye. From this site the Canyon looks less impressive then from the viewpoints. But it was a great time here. ![]() Yeah we finally arrived at Page. Tomorrow we want to visit the Antelope Canyon, but today we only want to relax a bit. So we drove down to Lake Powell near our hotel and enjoyed the beautiful sunset. ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() |
Shilo Posted Aug 12, 2012, 3:49 pm |
Hello Mum.
This is our eighth day here in America and I am just a little bit tired at the moment and the others seem to be a little tired too. ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() In the noon we want to visit the Antelope Canyon here in Page. Because we have some time till then, we went to Lake Powel again. We climbed around the rocks and after that I could relax at the water and swim a little bit. The water was crystal clear and very refreshing, with the heat outside. ![]() ![]() On our way to the canyon we stopped at the Horseshoe bend. Look Mum the Colorado River looks like a horseshoe here. I was too scared to go nearer to the edge, to have a better look at the river. ![]() Then we moved on to the Antelope Canyon. It was very impressive to have a look at this giant rocks and the light that shines on them. ![]() ![]() Here I am standing on the south entrance of the canyon. From here you can imagine how small it is inside the canyon. ![]() After one and a half hours in the canyon it was time for us to move on. Today we will drive to Bryce Canyon. Host dad was very nice and let me drive a little bit on my own. ![]() Then the others wanted to drive also, so we changed places and I took the chance to play around with the others in the car. ![]() ![]() ![]() |

We woke up in our cool country hotel near the Bryce canyon today. ![]() ![]() It is a very nice hotel and we had the feeling like we were on an old western ranch, inside and around the hotel. ![]() After our breakfast buffet we drove to the canyon. We started at the Sunset point and walked the 0,5 miles/ 0,8 km to the sunrise point. ![]() ![]() ![]() From there we saw a trail, which goes down the canyon. This trail is called the Navajo Loop and in our map we could see that the short part of the loop is 1,3 miles / 2,1km long. It is a moderate hike so we wanted to try it. We had wonderful views inside the canyon. ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() What will be behind this tunnel? ![]() ![]() ![]() Wow what a great cave. But we found no animals inside. ![]() ![]() Mum look I found this tiny squirrel it was very nosey. ![]() ![]() It was very nice here, but we have to move on to the Zion National Park. Good bye Bryce Canyon. ![]() After a short trip we arrived at the Zion National Park. ![]() ![]() ![]() First we checked in into our hotel and after that we drove to the Zion human history museum and from there took a shuttle bus to the Zion Lodge. We haven’t much time till sunset so we decided to take the trail to the lower emerald pools. Unfortunately it was so dry that the waterfall and the lake were mostly parched. ![]() ![]() ![]() |

Hello Mum.
Today is our second day in the Zion National Park. We started our tour at the visitor center and took the bus to the Temple of Sinawava. From there we followed the Riverside walk. ![]() ![]() At the end of the trail we walked through the riverbed and followed the Narrows a short while. ![]() ![]() After this refreshing walk through the river we moved on to the Weeping Rock. It was very impressive here, because this rock really looks like it was crying. I tried to cover my head from the rain with my ears and it worked quite well. ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() |

Hello Mum.
Our trip is close to its end. Today we were visiting the Valley of Fire. It is a desert again, but with very interesting rocks. This rock is called the Elephant rock. Can you discover the Elephant? ![]() Here we are at “the Cabins”. These historic stone cabins were built with native sandstone by the Civilian Conservation Corps in the 1930’s as a shelter for passing travelers. ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() Here I am standing in front of the Mouse Tank. Named for a renegade who used the area as a hideout in the 1890’s. Mouse’s Tank is a natural basin in the rock where water collects after rainfalls, sometimes remaining for months. ![]() On the half-mile round-trip trail to Mouse’s Tank, we passed numerous examples of prehistoric petroglyphs like this. ![]() Here we are standing at the Rainbow Vista visiting point. ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() This multicolored sandstones look like the German flag, don’t you think so mum? ![]() I really like the White Domes because they were very impressive. But here I’ve learned that I am no desert rabbit. It is too hot for me here. ![]() ![]() Because it was so hot, we decided to move on to Las Vegas our last stop before we will return to Germany. I think this highway looks like the ones, which you could see in American road movies. ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() Viva Las Vegas!!! ![]() Our hotel is the Stratosphere tower. It looks so amazing huge from down here. ![]() Here you can see the view from the View platform on top of the Tower. Behind us you could see the Strip. ![]() ![]() |

I wish you a wonderful good morning Mum.
Today is our first really day here in Las Vegas. After a great breakfast at the Mandalay Bay hotel, we visited the shark reef, which was build inside the hotel. At the entrance I saw this cool crocodile. ![]() Luckily there is a window between this Komodo dragon and us. I think he wanted to eat us. ![]() ![]() Mum I touched a real ray. It was so cool and he feels like … hmm like jelly. ![]() In this underwater tunnel and the reef connected to the tunnel, we saw a lot of different fishes and sharks. I also saw the big white sharks and a sawfish. The sawfish scared me more than the white shark, because his saw was so amazing huge. But he was too fast to take a picture with him, so I can’t show him to you. ![]() ![]() Mum I am in New York. ![]() Just a joke, near to the Mandalay Bay hotel is the New York New York hotel. It really looks like a small version of New York. They even have a small Statue of liberty. ![]() Here I am standing on the Brooklyn Bridge. ![]() Inside the hotel I had the feeling like I was standing on a street in New York, it was really cool. ![]() ![]() Because it was so hot outside we had the idea to take the chance and visit an exhibition here in Vegas. We decided to have a look at the Titanic exhibition. We weren’t allowed to take pictures in the exhibition, but I can tell you that it was really impressive and sad to see the things from the ship and to read about all the hundreds of people who died on the ship. ![]() Here I want to show you the Luxor hotel, were the exhibition was. The hotel looks like a giant pyramid and you have the feeling like you were in Egypt because of all the deco. ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() When its dark outside Vegas looks like a completely new place. Everything is really flashy, because there are lights everywhere. ![]() ![]() But one of the most beautiful things in the evening is the view at the Paris hotel. Doesn’t is looks wonderful with all this lights? ![]() Before we went to home to our hotel after such a great but exhausting day, we stopped at the Bellagio hotel, because I wanted to show you this amazing foyer. ![]() Good night mum. |

Hello Mum.
I am a little bit sad, because this is our last day here in America. This evening we were flying back to Germany, but luckily we have the whole morning to look around Vegas. After our breakfast we went to an M&M shop. It was a very big shop with 4 floors full with M&M’s and merchandise. Have you ever seen so much M&M’s in so many different colors? I was really impressed. ![]() ![]() Here I am standing right in front of the huge Caesars Palace. It is the biggest hotel we have seen here in Vegas. ![]() This is a replica of the famous Trevi-fountain. It looks really beautiful. Mum will I travel to Rome one day, to see the real Trevi-fountain? ![]() In the Venetian hotel they were celebrating carnival the whole year, but unfortunately we didn’t see anyone in a costume. Shilo told me that this hotel really looks like a small version of Venice. ![]() ![]() ![]() In front of the Tropical Island hotel stands a pirate ship and every evening there is a show in which the ship is sinking. ![]() Before we leave we wanted to do one very important thing. So we went into a casino and played on a slot machine. It made really fun, but after a short while I game away my dollar. ![]() Then it was time to say good bye to the beautiful and flashy Las Vegas. ![]() When we arrived at the airport Shilo told us, that we had to wait one hour before our flight will start. First we sat down to wait for our flight. ![]() ![]() But it was too boring for us. So we had the idea to play some games to shorten our idle time. ![]() ![]() ![]() Our return flight took 10 hours and we all were sleeping most of the time. The craziest thing is that we started in Vegas on Saturday evening and landed in Düsseldorf on Sunday evening. Because of that we all were really tired and went to bed as soon as we were home. |

Hello Mum.
Today was a very happy day because a new TV arrived here in Bochum. We were really excited when we saw the envelope. ![]() Knöpfchen opened it and out of the envelope came a bee. Her name is Bzzzzz and she is coming from Finland. ![]() ![]() ![]() She told us that she is joining the Long tome RR in which Knöpfchen is taking part too. ![]() ![]() We talked a while before she showed us the things she had brought with her, they were really cool. ![]() ![]() After that we all hugged Bzzzzz to welcome her. ![]() Then we went into the kitchen and took out a cool ice cream. Purple helped Little to cut the ice into pieces. Can you see the small butterfly’s on it? ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() The ice cream was very yummy. ![]() See you Your Hase |

Good afternoon Mum.
Today is the famous Festival of Lights in Dortmund in the Westfahlenpark. When we arrived in the park, we searched for the right place for our picnic and the firework in the evening. It was a great picnic and we had a lot of delicious foods. ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() After this great meal we had some time before the firework starts, so we were walking around the park. We saw a lot of cool lambs and pictures that were made out of lights. ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() This is the Florian television tower; he is the famous emblem of Dortmund. ![]() Than at half past ten it was time for the firework. It was really amazing. Sometimes I had the feeling like the whole sky was full with lights. ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() We had a really great day in the Westfahlenpark today. |

Today we were preparing the presents we brought with us from America. We bought some M&Ms in the great M&M world. We were sorting the colors of the M&Ms, so that everyone got the M&Ms in the right color. It was really funny and look how many I’ve got. ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() |

Hi Mum.
Today Zeitgeist and Little Dragon were leaving. It was sad to say goodbye to my new friends. I hope they will experience a lot of cool adventures in the future. ![]() Before they left we took a last group picture together. ![]() We hugged them and wished them a save trip. I hope I get the chance to meet the two again one day, so we could spend more time together. ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() Then it was time to say goodbye. Little and Zeitgeist packed their presents for their parents and left. ![]() ![]() Bye bye you two. I will miss you. |

Hello Mum.
Today was a special day. We went to Mandrara for a group meeting with the other TVs who were staying with her Rosalind, Karlos, Drashuven and BineHH. We planned to surprise Bzzzzz and Suomi-girl who is also staying with Mandrara at the moment, because they had the same mum. There we also met the family from Little Dragon, his parents Imodra Dragon and Feru Dragon and Thorin Dragon his elder brother. It was cool and very interesting to meet so many TVs. We talked a lot about our adventures and dreams. ![]() ![]() ![]() Then it was time to eat something. I had a typical German fast food, curry sausage with fries. ![]() It was a great evening. Love you mum Your Hase |

Good morning Mum.
Today was very cool, because we visited an amusement park called Phantasialand. We stood up very early this morning so we could enter the park right after the opening. Because of that we had a lot of time to have fun on the attractions. ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() I love this chairoplane. While I was riding on it I thought my feed could get wet because of the water fountains ![]() ![]() Here I want to show you Talocan. I got very dizzy after this ride. ![]() ![]() This is a part of the River Quest water ride. The scariest part of the ride is the giant fall into the deep ground. ![]() ![]() Here you can see the Colorado rollercoaster ![]() ![]() ![]() After a while we had a break and I shared these yummy strawberries with Bzzzzz. ![]() I really like this old car. ![]() In addition to all the funny rides I saw a lot of interesting decorations. ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() Don’t you think this house is looking like a head? ![]() Before we went home we watched this artistic show in Chinatown. It was a very cool show and the perfect end for a great day. ![]() ![]() |

Hello Mum.
This was a very special Weekend. We visited good friends from my host parents in the Saarland, because Shilos godson will be baptized this Sunday. It was very special for me to be here, because I saw so many different baptize traditions. The Saarland is next to France and because of this they had a special baptize tradition which comes from France. The godmothers and godfathers of the child pack “Gutzien”, little backs with sweets. After the baptism they were a present for all the kids, the family and friends so they welcome the child as a part of their community. Here we are shopping the sweets for the “Gutzien”. The sweets look so yummy. ![]() After our shopping trip it was time to pack the backs. First all the sweets were mixed together in a big laundry basket. Who wants to swim in gold, swimming in sweets is much cooler. ![]() ![]() Then we helped Shilo to fill the bags. At the end we had packed 50 “Gutzien” and the best is that we have our own “Gutzien”. ![]() ![]() ![]() This is the christening robe. It is hands made and in family property since generations and a lot of kids were baptized in this robe. ![]() Then we had some free time, so we took the chance and played around in the garden. ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() Another tradition for the baptism is that an apple tree was planted. So one of the godfathers brought one with him and we planted it in the garden. It wasn’t easy but it made a lot of fun. I wonder how the apples will taste one day. ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() After the baptism we were helping to decorate the tables for the coffee and cake. ![]() ![]() ![]() Shilo gave the baby a baptism bracelet. It is another tradition here in Germany. Unfortunately we forgot to take a picture with it. It was a special weekend for me and I had a lot of fun. Love you mum Your Hase |

Hello Mum.
Today arrived a new envelope. I was so pry to see who was inside. Bzzzzz opened the envelope. ![]() ![]() Out of the envelope came a little Rat. His name is Mr. Stanley. We all hugged him to welcome him here in Bochum. ![]() ![]() ![]() Stanley told us about his adventures. It was great to hear new stories. ![]() Then he showed us the postcard he had brought with him. ![]() ![]() In the evening we played some board games. The first game we played was “Heimlich & Co.”. In this game you should hide from the others which figure color is yours to win the game. ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() The next game we played was “DonPeperoni”. In this game you want to become the mayor of a small town. To become the mayor you could win votes by giving the people money. It was a very funny game. ![]() ![]() The last game we played this evening was “Bezzerwizzer”. It is a quiz game, where you had to answer questions. Some questions were easy but others were extremely hard to answer. ![]() |

Today Snowball took us into the cinema. We planned to watch “the expendables 2”. Look Mum I’ve got my own Ticket. ![]() While we were waiting for the movie we were watching around the cinema. On this big screen we could watch movie trailer. ![]() ![]() Look we have found a giant movie display from the film. ![]() Then it was time for the movie. We all charred a seat together, while we were watching the movie. ![]() ![]() ![]() Oh it’s getting dark. I am so excited to see the movie. ![]() The movie was really great and I had a lot of fun watching it. And mum I can tell you that I love the cinema. |

Good morning Mum.
Today we drove to Hagen, were we are visiting the open-air museum. This museum is really cool because it is the only open-air museum in Europe which shows only the history of craft and technology. It shows moments of the history of the Westphalia craft and technology from the end of the 18. to the 20. Centaury. ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() We saw a lot of different old smithies. They were really impressive especially this giant one. ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() Mum have you ever seen the many different wigs? It was cool to see the work of the wigmaker. ![]() When you stand here you’ve got the feeling like you were standing in the middle of an old German village. ![]() Here you can see the room of the shoemaker. ![]() In this room we could see the work of the upholsterer. ![]() ![]() In one of the houses we found a scale. We were playing and looking who weighs more. I am heavier than Snowball. ![]() Here we saw how clogs were made. ![]() Then it was time for us to go home again. Goodbye open-air museum. ![]() ![]() This was another funny day. I hope you have fun too mum. Love you mum your Hase |

Today was a lazy day, so we decided to go to the playground. On the way to the playground we walked through the garden plot which is behind the house from host mum. Hello mum and all at home
Yesterday I arrived in Switzerland. Someone took me out of the mailbox and brought me to a warm place. I heard whispers and strange voices ![]() I also saw a couple of little feet. ![]() Yes, I saw little feet. I must admit, I've nibbled my envelope. ![]() A corner I had already done. ![]() But the post office has noticed it and pulled a transparent cover over me. So I could see something but not fall out of my envelope. Host mum was very relieved. Then I could finally climb out from all the envelopes ![]() Many new faces were looking at me. We introduced ourselves, and all hugged me. ![]() I showed my Postcard from Berlin. ![]() Lola was very pleased to meet another rabbit. ![]() While the other made a nap (two days a birthday party makes you tired) I have watched host mum bake cakes. Carrot cake, ![]() oh oh. I hate carrots ![]() Luckily, there was still a rest chocolate cake ![]() left and marzipan carrots I like very much ![]() I think I like it here. Bye for now Hase |

Hello mum and all at home,
One week it was gray and damp. Today we had enough of the fog and decided to look for the sun. The Tannenbodenalp was the destination of our excursion. The Alp is located about 1400 meters above sea level. It should be high enough for the sun. After a few minutes driving time we saw the sea of fog below us. ![]() ![]() On the Tannenbodenalp we had gorgeous weather ![]() ![]() and a good view to the mountains ![]() On a small bank, we took a short break. ![]() ![]() We enjoyed the beautiful weather and the view. ![]() ![]() ![]() On our way home we admired the autumn mood at the lake. ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() The sunset made a beautiful day perfect. ![]() I love all you Hase |

Hello mum
our last trip brought us to Stein am Rhein, a small town in the canton of Schaffhausen. ![]() Stein am Rhein is located where the river Rhine leaves Lake Constance. ![]() The small town is home to a number of buildings that are listed as Swiss heritage sites of national significance. ![]() Stein am Rhein received the first Wakker Prize for the preservation of its architectural heritage in 1972. The award noted that Stein am Rhein was nearly unique in Switzerland and rare. In all of Europe for the number of notable buildings in a compact space ![]() ![]() ![]() It therefore noted the excellent care with Which the city which preserved. Here I show you some of the beautiful houses. ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() A beautiful place on the Rhine. ![]() ![]() So many beautiful buildings. ![]() ![]() ![]() I was allowed to visit a chocolate shop. I would most like to stay here. ![]() ![]() ![]() That's it for today, see you soon. Hase |

When I came into the kitchen this morning, there sat a sweet, little ladybug and nibbling on a piece of apple. ![]() It was Helga HH, a new TV that arrived when I was still asleep. ![]() ![]() We introduced ourselves and HelgaHH showed us the postcard and the sweets she had brought. ![]() ![]() We gave her a group hug and welcomed her warmly. ![]() Then we have told many TV adventure. Hello to all at home,
Yesterday we had to say goodbye to two friends. ![]() Carolin and Twix travel to their next host. ![]() We all have wished them a safe and pleasant journey. ![]() Maybe we'll meet again. Fortunately, both have the same goal and therefore can travel together. ![]() It was a bit of a sad Sunday. Two friends go away, the weather is bad. Therefore host mum made cheese fondue for dinner. Here in Switzerland, it is stated: Fondue is good and gives a good mood. It is true after the fondue and a glass of white wine, the mood was really better. ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() Love you all Hase |

Hello mum,
For days the weather is bad and we can not go out. But - it should snow again. We look forward. In order to pass the time, all TV's and host mum made an Chrismas wreath. Each was responsible for anything. ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() Does the wreath not look beautiful? ![]() Hugs and kisses Hase |

Hello my dears
Today, we have welcomed a new guest. It is Troot, a small sweet elephant from Finland. Host mum opened the envelope and each of us wanted to look into it. ![]() What a mess. Troot was a little intimidated. Then he climbed out bravely ![]() and we have warmly welcomed him. ![]() He brought with him a card, Christmas tea and a lollipop. ![]() ![]() ![]() The tea is for host mum, she loves Christmas tea. Our host brother has grabbed the lollipop. So nasty. That's it for today. Have a great time. Hase P.S. I was allowed to open the 4th door of our Advent calendar. I needed a little help from a friend. The chocolate was yummy. ![]() ![]() |
Jasper Posted Dec 7, 2012, 6:52 pm |
Hi all,
It snows all the time. ![]() ![]() And we are waiting for Santa Claus. Maybe he will not come. Troot told us that Santa always comes., No matter how much snow is. Troot should know, he is from Finland. While we wait, the old Theodore tells a Christmas story. ![]() We have not seen Santa, but we heard him. He brought us nuts, tangerines, cookies and a chocolate Santa for each of us. ![]() We were all behaved TV's ;-)) Now we wait for Christmas. I think of you Hase |
Jasper Posted Dec 9, 2012, 6:59 pm |
Hello mum,
The last days I was busy. I helped host mum to bake Christmas cookies. ![]() ![]() ![]() We baked a lot. ![]() ![]() Most of the cookies get host mum's dad, her brother and an elderly neighbor who lives alone. I had lots of fun and it smelled sooo good. Love you mum Hase P.S. I had to help Troot to open his door. He's so cute. ![]() ![]() |

Hello mum and all the loved ones at home,
after a week of snow and icy roads we could go outside again today. Wonderful winter weather. ![]() As host mum came home from work, she grabbed us immediately into her bag and off we went. ![]() ![]() We walked up a forest path. ![]() The sun was shining through the trees. ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() So much snow. ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() Above we saw pristine snow. ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() We had a wonderful view. ![]() ![]() This walk was lovely. Today I was able to accompany host mum to work. She is responsible for inventory management and shipping to a company for hotel and kitchen supplies. First I visited her office. ![]() It is not ready set up, they moved just two weeks ago. Then I looked at the warehouse. ![]() Thousands of kitchen towels, tablecloths, napkins, aprons and more. ![]() Even here was Santa Claus. ![]() It was great to see what host mum does when she is not at home. I had a very merry Christmas. On Christmas Eve we have decorated the Christmas tree with host dad. ![]() Sorry if some pictures are blurred. ![]() mum, I wish you and all the loved ones at home a happy and healthy new year. After a great dinner, we watched a bit of television ![]() to sell us the time. Then host brotherhas ignited table fireworks. ![]() We had great fun with all the funny things. ![]() ![]() ![]() Later we listened to the church bells and welcomed the New Year with champagne. Then we watched the fireworks. ![]() ![]() As our host family went to sleep, we have emptied the remaining bottles. May be this was a little much for some of us ![]() but we had a great party. Hello back home
after three weeks of rain (host mother can not remember such a terrible winter) we were finally able to back outside. No sun but dry. We all wanted to play in the snow. And for snow we had up high, very high. Sledding on Schwägalp was funny. ![]() Then host mum had the idea of visiting the Santis. ![]() So we took the cable car ![]() and were on our way to Säntis peak. ![]() ![]() At the top station we admired an exhibition of various museums around. ![]() ![]() ![]() We could not tell us how a car (a Rolls Royce vintage cars) comes up here ![]() Then we reached the summit. It was so cold and windy. Everything was frozen. ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() This is the weather station. ![]() And that's the big TV antenna. ![]() Host dad was feeding the mountain jackdaws ![]() On our way back we even saw the sun. ![]() ![]() It was a wonderful day. Hase |

Hello mum,
Today we said goodbye to Meomie. ![]() She continues her journey and will visit Germany. We sang a song of farewell ![]() and wished a safe journey. ![]() On Saturday we will have a great trip. Host mum will not tell us where we go. All we know is that we take the train, and the rest is a surprise. I can not wait. your little rabbit Hase |
Jasper Posted Jan 13, 2013, 1:46 pm |
Hello mommy
Yesterday morning we had to get up very early. At 7 clock we sat on the train. ![]() ![]() Our first stop was Zurich. There, we had just enough time to photograph the station ![]() ![]() and to find out where the journey takes. We will travel to Basel. Basel is one of the oldest cities in Switzerland, located on the River Rhine. The city, near the border with Germany and France is known for its chemical industry. After our arrival in Basel, ![]() we saw only a few steps from the train station Strasbourg Monument ![]() and the Bank for International Settlements. ![]() Our route took us to Elisabeth church ![]() next to the Theatre. We had a short break at the Tinguely fountain. ![]() ![]() This fountain, called Fasnacht Fountain was a gift of a great food discounter to the city of Basel. ![]() Then we saw the Basel Cathedral, ![]() ![]() located on the cathedral hill high above the Rhine. We had a magnificent view of the river and part of the city. ![]() The skyscrapers that you see in the center of the image, is the fair tower. ![]() Through narrow streets ![]() we found our way to the river Rhine. We crossed the "Middle Bridge" and could see the old town from the other side. ![]() ![]() On our way back we saw the red city hall. ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() It was built in 1504-1514. After these many impressions we were exhausted and slept through the journey home. I hope you like Basel as much as I. Greetings, Hase |
Jasper Posted Jan 18, 2013, 1:23 pm |
Hello mum,
Troot left us today. He traveled further to new adventures in another part of Switzerland. We had a small farewell party with cupcakes. ![]() Host dad had secretly eaten a TV Muffin, therefore Troot had to eat a big one. ![]() Then he packed his things and slipped into the envelope. We all wished him a good trip ![]() and checked that everything was in order. ![]() After his departure, some of us also grabbed the wanderlust. We have told a long time from our travels. Love you mum, bye bye. Hase |

Hi mommy,
because the weather at the moment is not really good, we had freezing rain and it was dangerously slippery, I make Rocky Raccoon ready for his first trip. He is a spoiled city raccoon and has no idea of the real life. First, we looked on the internet, what a raccoon loves to eat. ![]() There we learned that a raccoon climbs trees. ![]() Good we have a big cat tree. ![]() ![]() After all the training I needed a break. ![]() Cuddling with Runa was just right. ![]() ![]() ![]() Love you mommy Hase |

Hello home
Yesterday we had another farewell party. HelgaHH will travel back home, and Rocky Raccoon starts his first journey. Host mum baked a cake and took a group photo. ![]() ![]() As long as one can show us yet, she said. Then we ate cake and potato chips and crackers. ![]() We drank one or another glass of wine. ![]() Late at night we came upon a sentimental mood. I sang with fervor sad songs ![]() until host mum woke up and reminded us that even more people live in this house who want to sleep now. We had a last drink and went to bed. This morning it was time. We said goodbye to HelgaHH and Rocky. We gave both a group hug ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() and they slipped into their envelopes. ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() Bye, bye and have a safe trip. Also, bye, bye home. Hase |

Yoohoo,
Today a new TV arrived. A sweet dog named Wolley. He is from Guinea and will spend some time with us. We sat in our basket and told and laughed when suddenly a pointy nose sniffed over the edge. ![]() It was Wolley, who had just arrived. We welcomed him kindly. ![]() As he slept, he was very tired after his journey, we decided to cook a soup for him. A hot soup would be the right on such a cold day. We had a lot to do. Chop bacon, onions and lots of vegetables ![]() ![]() ![]() into small pieces. ![]() ![]() Fry the bacon and onions. Barley and small white beans are added. Then fill with meat broth. And then - charging the battery of the camera. After 1 1/2 hours, we added in the vegetables, stirred, ![]() ![]() and let cook for another 30 minutes. For dinner, we enjoyed a delicious soup. ![]() ![]() Satisfied and happy Hase |

Hello mum,
the weather is going crazy. On Wednesday the sun was shining (as host mum had to work) and it was 14 degrees. Then we had bucketfuls of rain and storm. This morning it started to snow again. Within ten minutes everything was white. No chance to go outside. And then the bad luck, host mum has a torn ligament in the foot. Dolivia, she is a pharmacy TV gives us instructions on how we have to maintain host mum. ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() We'll get her back on her feet. On both feet. Until then Hase |
Jasper Posted Feb 5, 2013, 1:32 pm |
Hello mum,
Last night we had a small farewell party with great pizza. ![]() Once again we had to say goodbye to grown fond friends. ![]() ![]() Lancel travels to China and Nils visits the U.S.. The weather here makes them a little easier to say goodbye. It's horrible, storm, rain and snow. Everything except sun. We gave both a group hug ![]() ![]() and wished them a safe journey. One last look and a bye and then starts their long journey ![]() ![]() and we are waiting for the next guests. See you mum, love you, Hase |
Jasper Posted Feb 6, 2013, 6:29 pm |
Hi mum,
Last night we bet that we are going to have Wednesday's weather. We won. Wednesday's weather means good weather in the morning when host mum works and rain, snow, storm or doomsday when she comes home. Every Wednesday, the same game. But today, something was different. Host mum brought an envelope. We are all long enough TV's to know what that means. A new guest has arrived. Host mum opened the envelope. Curious, we stuck our noses into it. ![]() ![]() A small, green turtle looked towards us a little bit shy. ![]() Cosily the turtle climbed out and introduced himself. ![]() Shakespeare is his name and he brought gummy bears as greeting gift. ![]() ![]() I think he's a nice guy and we will have fun together. ![]() Greetings home Hase |
Jasper Posted Feb 10, 2013, 6:40 pm |
Hello to all the loved ones at home,
Finally, after many days of bad weather, the sun is shining today. Host mum immediately grabbed us and we went on a winter walk. First we drove a short distance by car. ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() But then we enjoyed the sun, the fresh air and the beautiful view. ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() We trudged through the snow (80 cm. High) over small bridges, ![]() ![]() through narrow gorges ![]() ![]() ![]() and tunnels with huge icicles. ![]() ![]() We rested on the bench, ![]() which could be seen in the deep snow barely. ![]() I wished we could have done together. ![]() Enjoy the pictures as I have enjoyed the walk. I think of you. Hase |
Jasper Posted Feb 14, 2013, 6:49 pm |
Hi mommy,
Yesterday we celebrated Lola's birthday. ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() We sang happy birthday and wish her all the best. ![]() ![]() Then there was chocolate and sweets. ![]() ![]() Today was beautiful weather. Sun much as you wanted. The best thing was, host mum did not have to work and we could take a winter walk. We walked up and down through the glistening snow. ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() The sky was blue, the sun was shining, what more could you want? ![]() An adventure! On our way we saw the sign to the waterfall. The road, really just a path is a little dangerous. Narrow, steep and icy in the winter. We begged so much until host mum gave her ok. First she checked the phone connection. (In case we need the fire brigade or the helicopter to get us out.) Then it went off. ![]() From time to time our heart beat a little faster. ![]() And then we saw the waterfall is an icefall now. ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() Everything around him was covered with ice. ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() It looked great. That was our way back. ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() Exhausting, but we did it. ![]() Love you mommy Hase |
Jasper Posted Feb 19, 2013, 7:30 pm |
Hello mum,
watch our latest guest. Such a sweet, little sheep. ![]() And so much candy. ![]() We love her. The sheep and the sweets. ![]() ![]() What did you think. Sweet dreams Hase |

Hello my dears at home,
with a loud roar our newest guest jumped in our quiet life. We were all terribly frightened. ![]() ![]() A tiger. After the initial shock was over Rico, the tiger has clarified his roar. ![]() He was happy to be out after a long journey from the envelope. He showed us his gift ![]() ![]() ![]() and we greeted him kindly. He seems to be quite nice, especially when he purrs. ![]() I miss you all Hase P.S. It's snowing for days, and unfortunately we can not go outside. |
Jasper Posted Mar 3, 2013, 3:15 pm |
Hi mommy,
what a boring week. Jasper had to work full time, the weather was bad (two weeks with no sun, no more snow, but fog and rain) and host dad was sick. But yesterday we had a lot of fun. We celebrated Lille's birthday. ![]() She got a huge cake, a big lollipop and a little sheep. All kissed and hugged her and wished her all the best. ![]() ![]() ![]() Then she blew out the candle and cut the cake. It was great fun. ![]() I hope that next week things will get better. Love you mommy. Hase |
Jasper Posted Mar 9, 2013, 4:41 pm |
A dear Hello back home,
after felt like eternity we could go outside today. Jasper packed us into her big bag and we drove to St. Gallen, the capital of the canton. St.Gallen is not really big (74000 inhabitants) but is known for its embroidery. The university is one of the leading business schools in Europe and the Convent of the monastery is a UNESCO World Heritage Site. The first thing we saw was the red square. ![]() ![]() Yes, not only Moscow has a red square, and this place is really red, ![]() Oh, oh, we forgot the turtle. Again pose with turtle. ![]() ![]() it is a gift from a reputable bank to the city. On our way to the old town we saw the synagogue of the Jewish community. ![]() Then we admired the cathedral ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() and the many beautiful old houses. ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() Then we went to the farmers market. There we were immediately hungry, with all these "delicacies." ![]() We bought some fruit and mushrooms, and were on our way home. Best wishes and much love Hase |
Jasper Posted Mar 15, 2013, 3:45 pm |
Hello mum,
I hope you are well. Today we are preparing another farewell party. Dolivia will leave us and go to Greece. With our new Shopping Cart ![]() ![]() (Jasper brought it last week) we plundered all the cupboards and found much useful for a party. ![]() ![]() We had almost everything together, ![]() just the popcorn was still missing. It was funny to look into the microwave and listen to the popping of the corn. ![]() We had crackers and brezels, ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() We made one last group photo, ![]() and hugged our friend. ![]() ![]() Bye bye Dolivia have a lot of fun, much more adventure and a safe journey. See you Hase What we did not know at this point - Rico will leave us also. He travels to Greece, to the same host as Dolivia. We hugged him ![]() and wished him a good trip. ![]() Then they both slipped into the envelope and started their journey. ![]() |
Jasper Posted Mar 22, 2013, 3:24 pm |
Hello mum,
As Jasper came home from work today, she packed us into her bag and off we went. Not five minutes later, she opened the bag and sunshine streamed in. We saw a small path that looked pretty beat from all the snow. ![]() ![]() ![]() But on closer inspection we found things that make hope for spring. ![]() ![]() ![]() The weather was beautiful but the wind is still cold ![]() and the snow is still near. ![]() ![]() We saw a really old apple tree with mistletoe. ![]() ![]() Huge, felled trees ![]() and snowdrops. ![]() We saw bees that were battling for first flowers. ![]() (You can not see so well but look right in front of my nose.) And then we took a sunbath. ![]() It felt so good. In the hope of more sun I send you greetings Hase |
Jasper Posted Mar 27, 2013, 1:06 pm |
Hello mum,
we are all pretty frustrated. After last week, it looked a bit like spring, winter reigns again. Jasper will be crazy, slowly but surely. Yesterday we tried to bring some spring mood in the house. ![]() ![]() Jasper bought everything that looked like Easter and warm weather, and we built and decorated it into a indoor garden. ![]() ![]() I think we succeeded. ![]() ![]() ![]() Now we all look forward to Easter, no matter what the weather is. We can not change anyway. Love you mum Hase |
Jasper Posted Mar 30, 2013, 2:35 pm |
Hi mum,
Today we were all very busy. We helped Jasper with the Easter preparations. I could bake bread. Knead the dough, we let the food processor. ![]() I had to take care of my ears. ![]() ![]() Then the dough had to go up. ![]() The waiting was a bit hard for me. ![]() ![]() Finally it was time. ![]() Jasper kneaded the dough again (my paws are a little too small) ![]() and I formed a bread. ![]() ![]() ![]() Wait again. ![]() ![]() Then Jasper shoved the bread into the hot oven. An hour later came out that. ![]() Doesn't the bread looks wonderful. ![]() Oh mum, I wish you could smell it. Now I have to taste. Bye mum, see you Hase |
Jasper Posted Mar 31, 2013, 1:27 pm |
Happy Easter mum!
although it looks more like Christmas. ![]() Due to bad weather (snow again) we must search the Easter Bunny in the apartment. We searched long and found plenty. Everywhere chocolate bunnies, eggs and other sweets were hidden. ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() We needed our shopping cart to transport everything. ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() Later, we had a delicious breakfast. ![]() ![]() ![]() I wish you a nice day, your Hase |
Jasper Posted Apr 10, 2013, 5:36 pm |
Hello mum,
we can take pictures again. Right after Easter, the cat had thrown the camera from the table. She was broken. Not that you had missed something. The weather was as usual - bad. Jasper had bought us a small bench so that we can enjoy the sun on the balcony. What sun? We now sit in the dining room under the Easter tree. ![]() He gets small leaves. Feels like spring. ![]() Today we say goodbye to Lille. She will travel to Germany. We cuddled the little sheep and wished her a good trip - and better weather. ![]() ![]() ![]() For the weekend, the weather forecast is good. Jasper has promised us, we use it for a trip. We'll see. Bye mum Hase |
Jasper Posted Apr 14, 2013, 5:06 pm |
Hello,
Today a new TV arrived. Jasper brought a heavy package and we were very excited to see what or who is in it. ![]() The first thing was a postcard, ![]() then came sweets ![]() and then a bunch of money. ![]() The last climbed out a small panda bear. ![]() We greeted her warmly and introduced ourselves. ![]() ![]() Her name is Lilo and she is from Germany. We will definitely have lots of fun together. ![]() Bye, bye Hase |
Jasper Posted Apr 14, 2013, 6:36 pm |
Hi mum,
Today we visited with Jasper a fair for holidays and leisure time. First we took the bus ![]() and then the train to St. Gallen. ![]() ![]() ![]() We could not take many photos because so many people were there. Outside, we saw horses playing soccer. ![]() ![]() It was a beautiful day but so many people. Back home I had to recover. I snuggled a bit with Runa. ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() Her purr was very reassuring. ![]() Love you mum, Hase |
Jasper Posted Apr 17, 2013, 3:08 pm |
Hello mum,
today I enjoyed the sun. ![]() It was so hot, I had to pull out my winter sweaters. ![]() ![]() At first I felt a bit naked, but that was quickly forgotten as I lay in the sunshine. ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() What a feeling. your Hase P.S. Think I got a little tan. |
Jasper Posted Apr 20, 2013, 10:40 am |
Hi mum,
I can't believe it. Two days ago I was sunbathing on the balcony and we had 23 degrees. This morning I looked out of the window and I saw snow. ![]() Over night we got snow again, 10 cm. ![]() It's cold, I must search my winter sweater. Bye from a frustrated rabitt. |
Jasper Posted Apr 23, 2013, 8:58 pm |
Love mum, tomorrow I'll go into holidays to France.
![]() ![]() It's just a short break but we will visit the Alsace. ![]() Fine wines, delicious food and hopefully nice weather. The suitcase is packed, ![]() ![]() it can go off. I'll call you when I get back. See you soon Hase |

We are back from wonderful short holiday. With Jasper and her daughter we explored the "Route de Vin" (wine route) in Alsace. A paradise for wine lovers, gourmet and storks. We started with best weather ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() and looked gorgeous little wine villages. In Ribeauvillé we made the first break and tried Riesling d'alsace. ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() Excellent. We saw a stork's nest on an old tower. ![]() On a tour of the city we discovered many beautiful old houses, ![]() shops ![]() ![]() ![]() and fun artwork. ![]() ![]() And vineyards, where you look. ![]() Then we drove to our hotel in Rosheim. This small wine village near Strasbourg has four gates. ![]() One of them is called Zittglöckle (time bell) because it has a clock. ![]() ![]() The old well had originally three buckets to fetch water upward. ![]() ![]() This was our hotel. ![]() Jasper forgot to take a picture but we took a little postcard on which it is seen. This was the view from our balcony in the garden with the magnificent weeping willow. ![]() ![]() That was our first day. We were curious what would bring the other day. Hase |
Jasper Posted Apr 29, 2013, 10:19 pm |
Hi, all at home,
the second day of our holiday we spent in Strasburg. All were pretty tired when Jasper woke us up, ![]() but the nice weather lured us outside. Arrived in Strasburg we walked to the cathedral along the Ill River. ![]() We marveled at an old carousel. ![]() Then we saw the cathedral. ![]() ![]() It is really impressive. ![]() Strasbourg Cathedral or the Cathedral of Our Lady of Strasbourg (French: Cathédrale Notre-Dame de Strasbourg, German: Notre Dame Cathedral in Strasbourg), also known as Strasbourg Minster, is a Roman Catholic cathedral in Strasbourg, Alsace, France. At 142 meters (466 feet), it was the world's tallest building from 1647 to 1874, When it was surpassed by St. Nikolai's Church, Hamburg. Today it is the sixth-tallest church in the world and the highest still-standing structure Entirely built in the Middle Ages. The cathedral is visible far across the plains of Alsace and can be seen from as far off as the Vosges Mountains or the Black Forest on the other side of the Rhine. Sandstone from the Vosges used in construction gives the cathedral its characteristic pink hue. The Place de la Republique, it was not far. Colorful spring flowers ![]() and the War Memorial were there to see. ![]() The Palais du Rhin is also there. ![]() Then we saw the Church of Saint Paul. ![]() We walked on the Ill river to the Pont Couvert (covered bridge) ![]() and also saw there this towers. ![]() One of them is called hangman tower. We could imagine what happened there before. On our way home we saw this funny house. ![]() It is called "the worm hole"(Schneggeloch) Arrived at the hotel we were very exhausted. ![]() We slept a little but not too long because it was a full moon and we absolutely had to see. ![]() Bye for today Hase |
Jasper Posted May 1, 2013, 6:25 pm |
Hi mum,
after we had admired the full moon enough, we enjoyed another bottle of wine ![]() and then fell into a deep sleep. The next day was like our heads - cloudy. On the way to our next destination we stopped often and let the wind blow us around the nose. ![]() And again, as far as one could see vineyards. ![]() ![]() Then we reached Haut-Königsbourg, a 900-year old fortress. ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() A truly impressive building. After a break and delicious food, ![]() we drove to our hotel to Riquewihr. ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() Unfortunately it started to rain heavily. Jasper had to decide - Camera or umbrella. She opted for the umbrella. So we spent the rest of the day and the journey home into Jasper's bag. ![]() A little wet, tired but happy about the nice days. See you mum Hase |

Hi mum
Last weekend Jasper promised a special trip for Thursday, when the weather is good - really good. So we kept our fingers crossed for the whole week, but the weather forecast was not promising. Host dad decided: We try. Thursday: Get up 5 clock in the morning, departure 1 hour later. Much too early for TV's. Therefore, we slept on during the car ride. As Jasper woke us the next time we were in Interlaken train station. The ticket showed us: We travel to the Jungfraujoch. ![]() To the highest train station in Europe. The first train took us to Grindelwald at the foot of the Eiger, Mönch and Jungfrau, the well-known mountains in the Bernese Oberland. There, we changed the train to Kleine Scheidegg, ![]() the starting point for the trekkers climbing the Eiger North Face. Here you see this notorious mountain wall, which has so many climbers cost their lives. ![]() ![]() ![]() Next, we boarded the red train to the Jungfraujoch. ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() This train is required in addition to the normal rails a gear to overcome the steep climbs. ![]() As the train travels most of the time in tunnels, there are several breakpoints on the line with windows. From there you can admire famous places. Our first stop, and also the last outside of the tunnel, was Eigergletscher. ![]() From the once mighty glacier is not much left. ![]() The next stop was Eigerwand. ![]() The view from the middle of the Eiger North Wall was breathtaking. ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() The last stop is called Eismeer. Here you can see the glacier crashes between Eiger and Mönch. ![]() ![]() ![]() Then we reached the highest station in Europe. 3454 meters above sea level It was too dark to make pictures. We took the elevator to the Sphinx. 117 meters in 26 seconds. ![]() The Sphinx is a research station and an observatory. In 1996, the observation deck was opened. On clear days one has a fantastic view. ![]() ![]() ![]() This mountain is called Mönch and is 4107 meters (13475ft.) high. ![]() ![]() This is the Sphinx. ![]() It was very stormy, you can see fly my ears. ![]() ![]() Through this wind changed fog, clouds and a clear view in seconds - unbelievable. Then we took a walk on the Aletsch Glacier. ![]() This glacier is the largest of the Alps in terms of area and almost 23 kilometers long. The ice flows at a speed of 180 meters per year towards the Rhone. On Konkordiaplatz the ice thickness is about 900 meters. We were not allowed to leave the path of the glacier under any circumstances. Right and left there are deep crevasses - life threatening. But the outlook was fantastic. This is the Jungfraujoch. ![]() If you look closely, you see at the top the Sphinx - quite small they stuck to the rock. This is a big glacier demolition. ![]() Then we marveled at various exhibitions ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() and the Ice Palace. ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() Can you imagine that they need to cool down these halls, which consist only of ice at minus 3 degrees? Because of the body heat of the many tourists. Then it was time for the return journey. Everyone was tired and fell asleep on the train - we also. ![]() In Kleine Scheidegg we changed train, ![]() took one last look at the Eiger and Jungfraujochbahn and went on to Wengen. ![]() This place is famous because of the Lauberhorn downhill skiing. We were looking for the famous ski run - but without snow? ![]() ![]() ![]() We have not found. The rest of the way we slept in Jasper's pocket. ![]() We were all very tired - but what an adventure. Yours, Hase |

Hello mum,
when I woke up this morning, I saw a small hippo sitting on our little bench and have breakfast. ![]() Jasper introduced us. Ismaya is the name of the hippo and he comes from Bali, Indonesia. It rattles with the teeth because it is so cold here. This morning it was 7 degrees. Then Ismaya showed us his gifts. ![]() ![]() Wonderful things from his home country. We hugged and welcomed him warmly. ![]() ![]() Later we told a lot of our adventures and Ismaya marveled. He is on his first trip. We will have lots of fun with him when he stops teeth from chattering. See you soon Hase |

Hi mom,
Yesterday we had to say goodbye to Salmonella. She travels home. In parting, we celebrated a tea party with cucumber sandwiches and scones and cream and strawberry jam, and of course tea. ![]() ![]() ![]() We enjoyed the food and talked a lot of days gone by. ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() Then Salmonella packed her things and it was time to say goodbye. We gave her a big group hug and wished her a safe journey. ![]() ![]() A little sad we watched her as she slipped into her jacket. ![]() ![]() Bye, bye good friend, maybe we'll meet again. Also, bye, bye dear mom, your little bunny Hase |

Hi mom,
Today we took a small break in the rain and walked 10 minutes to the outside. We found large tree mushrooms. ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() A little change in this gloomy monotony. hugs from Hase |

Hello mom,
It's cold, it's raining and I'm bored. That's why I decided to learn knitting. ![]() And I will stop only when the sun shines again. Jasper is looking forward to a new scarf. Hase |
Jasper Posted Jun 1, 2013, 7:50 pm |
Hello,
Today, a card came from Norway. ![]() ![]() ![]() Jasper was happy, and me too. The card was from Rocky Raccoon and my mom, who spend their holidays in Norway. Now I have to knit on, it's still raining. ![]() ![]() Greetings from a slightly envious rabbit. |
Jasper Posted Jun 1, 2013, 7:54 pm |
Hello mom,
nothing new. It is raining and I knit. ![]() ![]() Greetings and kisses Hase |
Jasper Posted Jun 1, 2013, 8:03 pm |
Hello to all,
nothing new, it's still raining. Or maybe, it's raining harder and now we have floods. My scarf is growing. ![]() ![]() Love Hase |
Jasper Posted Jun 8, 2013, 11:31 am |
Hi mom,
I still knit. ![]() Meanwhile, the scarf is enough for 3 TV's ![]() ![]() Hopefully soon the sun will shine. My paws hurt already. Love, Hase |
Jasper Posted Jun 8, 2013, 2:05 pm |
Hi mom,
The last few days were exciting and boring at the same time. We had heavy rains, floods and landslides and we could not go outside. As the weather improved, Jasper's dad had to go to the hospital. Again, no time for walks or excursions. But today the weather is wonderful and grumpy grandpa is healthy again. Early in the morning we started for a walk to the river Thur. It was lovely. Everything was very quiet, most people were still asleep. You could hear the birds chirping and rushing the river and the air smelled of hay. We went over a small bridge. The river looks so romantic. ![]() We sat in the moss ![]() and ran through between rocks. ![]() ![]() ![]() A narrow footpath led us to the waterfall. ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() Then we walked along the shore ![]() ![]() ![]() and saw remnants of the flooding. ![]() On the grass in the trees you can see how high the water was. ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() By beautiful forests ![]() ![]() ![]() and mysterious gorges, we were on our way home. ![]() In one of the houses that you see in the background I live. ![]() At the end of our walk we discovered these wonderful flowers. ![]() It was great. Love you mom Hase |

Today I was a pilgrim on the Camino de Santiago. Honestly it was a coincidence. We wanted to visit the ruins Iberg. ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() On our way we saw this sign. ![]() We felt very special. From the castle we had a great view over the Thur Valley. ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() Hugs and kisses Hase |

Hello mum,
yesterday, when Jasper was at work, the bell rang at the door. Although it is not allowed to open the door in Jasper's absence , we could not resist. I opened the door a little bit and discovered a envelope with interesting stamps. ![]() ![]() A packet from Trinidad and Tobago, wow. Together we brought the envelope into the dining room ![]() ![]() and considered what we should do. ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() We opened it. ![]() The result was a small giraffe, wrapped in pink paper. ![]() ![]() ![]() We introduced ourselves ![]() and gave GiGi (so the giraffe is called) a warm welcome. ![]() She is so cute, I like her. yours Hase |

Hi mum,
Today we celebrated Shakespeare's birthday. Its 89th Birthday. Can you imagine that? At Wikipedia we read, the turtles have lived on the earth before the dinosaurs evolved. Shakespeare has held up well. We congratulated him and sang a song. ![]() ![]() ![]() He got a cake and a fishing rod. ![]() While we waited for the cake, he practiced fishing. ![]() ![]() Greetings from Hase, who hopes the rainy season is almost over. |

Hi Mum,
today we went to Wuppertal and visited the Botanical Garden there ![]() Today and on Sunday they celebrate a colourful summer fair around the Elisentower ![]() And this is the Elisentower itsself ![]() Formerly built as a windmill in the 18th century, a rich industrial magnate bought the area around the mill and built up his villa there in the 19th century. And he upsized the windmill tower to have a better view on the landscape of the valley of the river Wupper. First we started our tour and looked at the booths with handcrafted objects ![]() Then we visited the botanical garden itself ![]() Here parts of the old villa used as orangerie ![]() Look at the wonderful Lotos flower ![]() Here are some more impressions of the garden ![]() One of the two ponds with nice water lilies ![]() ![]() Even bananas they have in the warmhouse ![]() Here You can see the tower again ![]() And here I am on the tower ![]() ![]() O.K. this is not the real tower, but a good size for us plushies ![]() ![]() ![]() Now we are in the real tower ![]() What a nice wooden ornament on the floor ![]() Look at the nice ornaments under the ceiling ![]() ![]() Today this room is used for marriage ceremonies ![]() So let´s see what us expect outside ![]() ![]() Now we are on the top of the Elisentower, enjoying the landscape of Wuppertal and the fair in the garden ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() On our way downstairs we learned some more about the 200 year old area of the Hardt ![]() What a fine day here we spent ![]() That´s it for today, Mum, see You soon Yours Hase |

In the early afternoon we went back to strunkis home and had fun in the garden, trying to create jam out of our wild cherries we collected yesterday
![]() ...We don´t know exactly, if our protection clothes made from some medical glowes were the result of the young red wine strunki enjoyed.... ![]() ![]() ![]() ...but it protected our fur against some bad cherry-juice-drops... Elmar and me controlled the outsorted elements ![]() Very longlasting work.... ![]() Elmar brought the pot ![]() Part one is done... ![]() ![]() ...But what about electricity? Thanks strunkis husband, he connected the mixer and we were able to stay in the garden ![]() So carefully we mixed the fruits, caring that the cherry stones did not break ![]() Looks almost ready ![]() Now we have to filter the juice ![]() and now the protection clothes help to stay clean ![]() Now we cook the juice ![]() But not forget the jam sugar ![]() Waiting that the the jam will be ready to fill up in glasses ![]() Now our work is done ![]() ![]() Four Glasses we got, one for everybody That was my weekend, see You mum and have a good time Yours Hase |

Hello Mum,
this afternoon we went on the little christmas market in Barmen ![]() Lotte and me liked this train a lot, but we didn´t find nice gifts there ![]() Strunki told us not to worry about, there a a few days left and so we played in the colourful little christmas tree in her office ![]() ![]() ![]() In the evening we went to a christmas party of the aquarist society gatw Wuppertal ![]() ![]() Lots of yummy eating we had there ![]() Here we check the winnings donated by the members for the tombola ![]() ![]() Next to us the members have already bought their lottery tickets ![]() The rules are easy and very fair: There are two identical sheet calendars, one sheet for each day. From the one calendar You buy day-sheets, each one costs one EUR. From the second calender the same days You bought were sampled in the lottery wheel. That means that there aren´t any blanks and each lottery ticket has the chance to win. the first winner is allowed to chose one of the winnings on the table what he wants to have and so on until all prizes are raffled ![]() And guess what? We won something! Look , the 8th of June was taken out of the lottery wheel and we have this sheet ![]() The next winnings came a few moments later ![]() Hmmm, blackberry liqueur ![]() And we won a third time: home made elderberry jelly ![]() What a nice and lucky evening, we have a lot of fun there ![]() ![]() That´s all for today, See and love You, Mum Yours Hase |

Hello Mum,
today we made a short trip around the Müngsten Bridge again, because the weather ist quite open and the temperatures are still o.k. We start at the confluence of the stream Morsbach and the river Wupper ![]() from the right You see the Morsbach and behind me the bigger one is the Wupper From the bridge over the Wupper You have a first view to the so called Diederichstemple ![]() This place we want to visit first But first we wanted to ask the puddle-oracle ![]() O.K., the oracle says that it isn´t frosty, not dry, but not too wet for a little hiking trip So we started hiking. It was a little bit tedious uphill, but we did it ![]() See me starting ![]() After a while we came to this nice Siepen and rested there a few minutes ![]() Then we arrived our first target: Diederichstemple ![]() Look at this huge Müngsten Brigde from there ![]() ![]() After a while hiking downhill, we came to this strange sculptures... ![]() And we asked us, what this could be? Some of us voted for some birdhouses and some think, it could be a special ToyVoyager playground... ![]() Finally, we decided, that it must be a playground Then we passed a little river-island in the Wupper ![]() And learned some interesting details about the fauna and flora in and around the Wupper here ![]() Finally we reached our last target: The Müngsten Brigde ![]() ![]() And here our tour ended Love You, Mum, Yours Hase |

the last days we were very verly lazy, enjoyed the christmas mood, hanged around, ate too much and so on ![]() But this sunday afternoon the weather was already good enough meeting olgamaus and her crew to show them some nice views on Wuppertal ![]() ![]() Here we stand on the south side and have a view over Barmen to the North And here I am again in the Nordpark, wich we have visited a few weeks ago ![]() Very happy, that the sun already shines for a moment And here we have the view over Barmen from the other side to the south hills ![]() It is not as clear as it seems to be At least we had a rest on this fresh logged beech, perhaps it felt down by the last storm here a fortnight ago? ![]() A very huge tree this was before it fell down... ![]() That was it for today, I am looking forward of the last day of the year when we want to celebrate a sylvester-party ![]() Love Yours Hase |

today we made a little trip to the part of the Eschbachtal, where the Lobach confluences into the Eschbach ![]() The area is called Hammertal , because a lot of old hammer mills were placed at this streams Here You see the Lobach ![]() ![]() After crossing the street we are now at the entrace to this part of the Eschbachtal, situated between Lobach and Ehringhauser Bach ![]() In the last days a lot of water floated into the streams and rivers, look ![]() ![]() ![]() Here the Eschbach is placed about 10 to 15 metres below our path ![]() ![]() Look at this old bridge over the stream, unfortunately is´s not allowed to cross it, because its in danger of collapsing ![]() Here we see an old hammermillbuilding, it is the Johanneskotten ![]() And there You can see a hibernation shelter for bats ![]() After passing it, we reach the official http://www.remscheid.de/leben/umwelt-und-natur/wald/Grillplatz_Altenhammer.php . But before You light a fire, You have to get the permission first ![]() There we played a while and had some fun at the stream ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() If it would be summer, we could hang our feet into it... ![]() ![]() ..or my ears perhaps? Behind and over this place the is an old small lake ![]() On our way back to the point we started, we admired this colourful tree fungus ![]() ![]() That´s our tour of today, tomorrow we want to celebrate Sylvester, the lst day of the Year 2013 Love You Hase |

Hello Mum,
today we made a very long trip on the Sambatrasse almost 10 Kilometers long. ![]() After a short while walking we reach a point, where a bridge leads over the tiger-area in the zoo ![]() Look at the funny sign there Only Nick and me were able to watch the tigers ![]() We had luck with the weather and enjoyed our walk ![]() Here we pass the point where Burgholztunnel starts, the tunnel connects the west of Wuppertal with the south and is almost 1.900 Meters long ![]() Here UrselHH, Charlotte and me learned about the history of the Burgholz ![]() The way further on we passed the point in the near of the Kaisereiche , but we didn´t visit the oak, because later in the afternoon the light became darker and our way was still long ![]() See me and *Nick* studying the sign about the place And here finally we pass the small old trainstop Burgholz, now there is a little tavern ![]() That was only a part of our tour today, but the later the afternoon was, the darker it became and we were glad to reach the car again ![]() See You soon and love You Yours Hase |

Hi Mum,
today we visited the Flora and Botanical Garden in Cologne ![]() The weather was very sunny and fine there, with temperatures almost usual in springtime ![]() Look at the nice terrace-spring, but in wintertime there´s no water floating ![]() The German emperess Augusta was patroness of the Flora ![]() First I found a huge solitaire sequoia tree ![]() ![]() Next we talked to this nice, friendly lady and her deer ![]() ![]() ![]() Then I saw a first suprise: a blooming tree at middle january! ![]() It´s a snowball-tree (viburnum) And here a nice example for a small garden and a still smaller garden house ![]() ![]() And look at the rare green-yellow striped moundlily yucca (Yucca gloriosa) ![]() ![]() There we played for some time enjoying the warm sun And see me here in front of the pampas grass ![]() in the near of a nice lake ![]() Here another two impressions of the park-landscape of the Botanical Garden ![]() ![]() This is very unique in Germany ![]() An allèe only with palms ![]() This was the second suprise for us ![]() See me with a nice christmas rose (helleborus niger) ![]() But this was the main reason for us visiting the Flora in this January ![]() The camellia-show in one warmhouse ![]() Some of the early camellia (Camellia japonica) are blooming yet ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() This nice statue we like, but it has a sad name: dying amazone ![]() It remembers us, that all beauty has to go sometime... And more beautiful blossoms, but sorry Mum, I wasn´t able to remember them all in detail ![]() ![]() Inbetween all this camellia-blossoms I found a very interesting other plant that I hope to meet in a few weeks on Tenerife ![]() Can You read the sign? It is the Canary (Island) bellflower Here we made a first rest and enjoyed the beautiful varieties of the camellia flowers ![]() ![]() ![]() But we also found other nice flowers ![]() See me with Charlotte and UselHH And see the giant groundsel (Senecio grandiflorus) ![]() ![]() ![]() And here we have the Chilean bellflower (Lapageria rosea) ![]() Another nice station with other camellia-varieties ![]() What a wonderful place ![]() ![]() This blossom I like most ![]() And even outside the warmhouse we find some blooming and frostresistant camellias ![]() ![]() ![]() What a wonderful nice day we had ![]() See and Love You all Yours Hase |
