Auf wiedersehen Deutschland - I'm off to the USA today and I am super excited! 
This is my first travelling adventure - hopefully I'll have a comfortable journey. :)

Coker arrived at his host's home in Iola, KS! He was sure glad to get out of that envelope! Coker was greeted by Drescher, who also has great taste in ties!

Coker joined host mom for an early morning cup of coffee. She said she likes her coffee dark and thick, with nothing extra in it. Coker thought it smelled amazing!

Coker helped unpack the box of costumes for the nativity play... he thought the donkey was a bit strange, but the angel costumes were lovely!

Coker visited El Charro today! There were so many things on the menu, it was hard to decide! He ate chips and salsa while making up his mind. The decor was lovely and Coker explored the murals while waiting for his quesadilla to arrive. It was delicious!

Coker took a look around the house next door, where the workmen are fixing up the old place. Coker thought he might like to play with power tools!

Frost! Host mom saw how beautiful the frost on the back porch was, so she gathered up the TVs and took them to the park to see the frost and the river, before she had to go to work.

Today, Coker traveled for about 2-1/2 hours with the host family, to a super fun place called Exploration Place! There were so many fascinating things to see and do that Coker didn't even mind the drive!

Coker went to the RiverTree Chilli Cookoff and Wii Tournament today. Everybody was having so much fun and the food looked so yummy and filling!

Host mom took Coker and the other TVs to see the Santa house and some of the shop windows downtown. Everybody's starting to get ready for Christmas!

Host mom was cooking delicious things this morning and told Coker he could help with the chocolate pie! She said that today is Thanksgiving, when Americans gather with loved ones to share a feast and reflect on the things they are grateful for. Host mom told him that one thing she is really grateful for is to have a happy, healthy family.

After a delicious Thanksgiving meal, host mom and some of the kids went for a hike, to find a cemetery that is about 200 years old. They had to climb over barbed wire fences and through a forest of thorny trees. But, they saw beautiful scenery along the way!

Coker went shopping at Wal-mart with host mom. He loved all the pretty Christmas things. Coker helped host mom pick out some cars for a little boy from the Police Department's giving tree.

Host mom took Coker and the other TVs to see the Canada geese at the south lake in Garnett. She said the geese winter here, and in a couple of months, there will be goslings!

The family arrived in Springdale, Arkansas for Arkansas Anime Fest! They unpacked into the hotel room, went out to eat at Waffle House, and goofed around!

On the way home from the Arkansas Anime Festival, the host family stopped to take the TVs to the Precious Moments Chapel. It is a beautiful place, and very peaceful there.

Coker got to see the ethanol plant in Garnett today. They distill corn to make ethanol fuel, as well as a very high protein cattle feed. It always smells like delicious yeast around the ethanol plant.

Coker and the other TVs visited the Strawberry Hill Museum in Kansas City, Kansas! They were all disappointed that there were no pictures allowed inside because it was so amazing, with all the cultural displays, but they did get some of the outside!

In the afternoon, Coker rode along to Garnett, to take home the host family's friend who had been staying over. They stopped off at the South Lake to enjoy the beautiful afternoon!

Coker hung out with the kids again today! They went to the elementary school playground. The school just got a new fort, which was made and donated by one of the janitors! The kids said he must love them! :)

Coker was fascinated with the old Iola cemetery. Some of the headstones date back to the 1800s, and some are quite elaborate.
