On Christmas Eve dad gave me as a present to my new mom. I was sitting under a big Christmas tree, with a lot of presents. I was silent to surprise her. She was so happy when she saw me.

When all the presents were unpack mom and dad made “Racelette” to dinner. It was so yummy.
Here I meet one of me new family members, his name is A’Tuin . He is so big, but very friendly.

Before we started playing mom wanted to clean her bowling ball. I was helping her with a towel. Afterwards they allowed me to enter the names for the game.
After that mom showed me how to handle the ball. It wasn’t easy for me but I made it
There are only two pins left. Now I want to make a “Spare”. Wish me luck.
Ohhhh bad luck. One pin is still left so I have to try again.
I’m so thirsty. So mom and dad ordered something to drink. Hmm the first time that I tried Coke.
Now I am very tired and need a little break, but I can watch the others play.

First I have to cut the gherkin. As you can see, I’m very good at it.
Then I wanted to open the glass with the sausages….
… But then the glass fall over. Luckily it didn’t break and dad was laughing. Then he helped me opening it.
At last we have to put the buns into the oven
Hmm Hotdogs are really delicious
After dinner dad played X-box with me. First it wasn’t easy, but then I became better.

But before I travel there, we’re going to Venice next month. Mom said that there is carnival, when we are there. I'm curious about it. The guidebook said that there were a lot of people with masks and costumes everywhere at that time.
Hmm should I wear a costume too? What do you think about this hat from my dad?
I think I will give it a try

But it’s a little bit too big and heavy.

My big brother helped me open the envelope.
I was so happy when I saw PinkyHH. She is very nice.
Pinky gave us a nice postcard as a gift. Mom was very happy, when she saw the postcard.
After the greeting, mom and dad made dinner for us. We had Spaghetti. They were very yummy. PinkyHH and I shared one plate.
Because PinkyHH had a long trip I wanted to do her something god. So we were taking a relaxing bath together.

Today we went to the cinema. PinkyHH and I were very excited about it. We watched "Man on a Ledge" (Ein riskanter Plan). It was a very exciting film.
Before we watched the movie, we’ve got something to eat. I had pommes and a cheeseburger. But the burger was so big, that Pinky and I shared one.
I wanted to help Pinky with the milkshake, but we couldn’t reach it, because we were too small. So dad helped Pinky with it.
Here you could see the cinema. It is really big.
I showed Pinky where we could get our tickets and she helped dad, to get them.
Mum told us, that we have to be silent while we were watching the movie.
We had a lot of fun, watching the movie. I hope I get the chance to go to the cinema again.

Today PinkyHH and I were a little bit bored. Mum and dad went dancing and we were alone at home.
We looked at some books but it doesn’t help.
So we decided to play “hide and seek”. Happy played with us and started counting, while we were hiding.
I was searching for a good place to hide and climbed into the closet where mum and dad store their games. I thought it was a good place, but Happy found me first.
After that Happy and I decided to searching together to find Pinky. She’s got a very god place to hide. But after a while I found her under Asmos cap.
While I was hiding into the closed I found a very interesting looking game. Pinky and I decided to play a round. It’s a card playing game called “Dominion”.
It made a lot of fun, playing this game. Pinky won the first round. But I won the next round. So it was a draw.

Today mum told us, that we were going to the Netherlands this weekend. Her mother-in-law has birthday on Saturday and is on vacation there. Pinky and I were really happy when we heard about this short break.
Mum and dad wanted to bake a cake for the birthday, as a surprise. Pinky and I decided to help dad with it.
First we need eggs. The egg is nearly as big as I am. Hmm is this the way it should get into the bowl?
Dad told me that I was wrong and we have to put the baking mixture into the bowl first. Pinky gives me a hand with opening and putting it into the bowl.
Now the margarine gets into the bowl. That was Pinky’s job. Even though she’s very small she has a lot of power.
Finally the egg has to go into the bowl.
Now we get to the funniest part, when we mix everything together.
Even though the cake is not finished yet it already looks delicious. So now he just has to go into the oven.
While the cake was in the oven, Pinky and I grabbed Dad’s Dutch books to learn a little Dutch for the weekend. First we read the lesson together and then we asked each other questions to check if we could remember everything. It worked very well. At least I now know what “Good morning” and “to eat” is in Dutch.
After we finished learning, the cake was ready too. Doesn’t it look delicious? But we’re not allowed to eat it now. But that’s okay cause mum promised us that we will get a piece of it on Saturday.

During our journey Pinky and I looked out of the window and told dad where he had to go.
Later we we’re allowed to drive the car on our own. Not that easy, when you are so small. But I think I did it quiet well.
Pinky was also allowed to drive, but I had to give a hand, changing gears.
Before we reached the Netherlands it started to snow very strong. So we decided to let dad drive the car again.
That was the first time I saw real snow. I would have loved to stop and play in it, because it looked so nice. But we couldn’t do this because we had to reach the ferry to Texel in time.
Mum bought some cookies as a small meal. I liked them so much, I would have loved to eat them all alone.
Sadly we missed our ferry due to the massive amount of snow. So we had to wait for the next one. But Pinky and I used the time and had a look at the harbor of Den Helder.
On the ferry we seated ourselves in the waiting area. Sadly it was too dark outside to make any pictures, so Pinky and I played with dad’s hat.
When we finally arrived on Texel Pinky and I were so tired, that we went into the bed directly.

I slept very well and had a wonderful night. Because we are only here for a short visit, we decided to start right after breakfast, to see as much as possible of Texel.
First of all we drove to De Burg. This is a very cute little city. There are lots of very cool shops here. For example a whole shop filled with all kind of candy. Sadly we didn’t take a picture there. We found a new friend here in Den Burg. Her name is Snowball and she grew up here on Texel. When mum saw Snowball she adopted her right away.
Snowballs greatest dream is to become a tourist guide. So she guided us around Texel.
After we finished our tour through De Burg we traveled on to De Koog, to buy some ingredients for lunch. We met a very nice seal in front of the supermarket. We we’re allowed to sit on her back while we waited for the shopping to be put into the car.
Isn’t this a great church?
After the shopping we went back to our house to warm up a little and eat the very delicious birthday cake. We also had a cup of tea.
Hmm the cake was really yummy. Especially with all the cream on it. After we finished our meal Pinky and I helped tiding up.
Next we went to Bollekamer. This is a nature protection area, in which wild horses and cows live. I’m very curious if we will meet some because I have never before seen horses or cows in real life.
Just beyond the entrance of the area there grazed a group of wild horses. Dads mum told us that they had never before seen the horses this close in the area. So we had a lot of luck there.
The landscape looks great with all the snow. You can look very far.
I got a little bit afraid when we saw this bird of prey in the sky. But luckily he wasn’t hunting me but another animal. Anyway I wanted to go on quickly.
I always thought the Netherlands would be all flat but they have some small hills.
Look what we found: A giant bathtub for penguins. I think the water is nice and cold. It’s a pity we don’t have the time to take a bath.
This small „forest“ shall give shadow to the cows in the summer. But right now they give you the feeling of being in the middle of a desert. From above here you have a great view. And I think I saw something over there. Let’s get there quick.
Yeah I was right. Here we have some free living cows. They have very long fur and gigantic horns. I think it’s good that they aren’t too close to us.
Because the others needed to warm up a little, we went back home. Because Pinky and I were not freezing we went outside and build a snowman. Isn’t it great?
After the others warmed up, we went to Cocksdorp to the lighthouse. The lighthouse is really huge. And right next to the lighthouse there is a BIG beach.
Wow what a great sunset. Snowball really didn’t promised us too much.
The ocean. I can see the ocean. Snowball told me that it is the North Sea. But mum told me that it is too windy to take a swim. Really a pity, but perhaps I will get a chance to swim in the sea some time.
Since everybody else was freezing because of the wind we started our journey back home.

It’s a pity but we have to go back home today. But before we leave we make a small trip to “De Schlufter”. It’s another beautiful beach to have a walk there.
First we have to cross the bank, to get to the beach. We’re very high above here so we have a great view.
There are a lot of small, hidden watercourses which are mostly frozen due to the cold weather. Anyway you have to watch your steps so that you don’t slip on the ice or break through it. Of course this is no problem for us because Snowball is leading us very good around the water.
At some places where the water is not frozen you can see some sea-gulls.
Even though it is very windy we managed to get to the sea but because the wind is so freezing cold we have to start our journey back immediately.
Anyway, then I will look around a bit while we are traveling back.
So now we have to leave. Bye bye little house, perhaps we will meet again someday.
Soon the ferry will leave to Den Helder.
Today we can look out of the window during the cruise. In the harbor there are lot of sea-gulls flying around the ship.
As soon as we reach the car we can already see the harbor of Den Helder.

Today two new TV’s arrived, their names were Ranil and Captain. Mum was really happy to see them. We gave them a warm welcome.
Captain took out his Travel book and showed it to us. It looks really cool.
Later we started to make us costumes for Venice. I was very happy, when everybody helped me sewing a hat. It was really funny, but also a lot of work. Thank you everyone.

Tomorrow we were flying to Venice, I am very excited about it. But today, we went to friends from my parents. Here we met two new friends, Hubertus the monk and Cosy the Teddy.
In the evening we were playing some games. Hubertus gave us some sweets before we started playing. They were really yummy. After that Cosy taught us the rules of the game “El Grande”.
We played against each other. It made a lot of fun.
Snowball had won the game. But I made the third place.
After that we played “Triomino”. It’s a really cool game.

I’m so happy, because today we were flying to Venice. It’s the first time that I will fly with a plane.
We drove to Düsseldorf airport. There we went to the waiting area and took a seat.
While we were waiting for the boarding, we looked out of the window and watched the other planes starting and landing.
Finally we are on the plane and make ourselves comfortable. I’m really curious how the flight will be.
Wow what a cool view. I could look really far from here.
Here you could see the Alps.
After over one hour we had a safe landing. Now we have to get our suitcases. It’s very funny watching the bags go around the conveyor.
When we arrived at the hotel, we were really tired from the flight. So we decided to go to bed.

Today is our first day in Venice. I’m so happy about it and a little curious how it will be there.
Venice is connected to the mainland with a gigantic bridge. You could cross the bridge by train, car, bus or you could walk. We went there by bus, because the bus stop is next to our hotel. Unfortunately we couldn’t take pictures from our tour, because it was too full in the bus.
We arrived in Venice at a big bus station.
From there we started our tour through the streets. We were just looking around and saw a lot of cool places.
Here you could see the view from the famous Rialto Bridge over the Canal Grande. Isn't it great?
After that, we arrived at the Piazza de San Marco. Here we could see the Basilica di San Marco, a beautiful church and Campanile di San Marco, a very high bell tower.
At the Piazza were a lot of tourists and people in wonderful costumes. This carnival seems to be really great.
After we walked around the Piazza for a while we decided to go somewhere else. So we went down to the promenade at the water.
After a while we decided to go back into the city and came to a park. Here we saw a cool statue with a big lion.
We walked a long time through the streets and saw a lot of interesting streets and houses.
Later we went to a little restaurant and ate something.
When it was getting dark, we decided to go home.

I wish you all a happy Valentine’s Day!
Today is our second day in Venice. I’m curious what this day will bring.
When we arrived at the bus station in Venice, we decided to take one of the waterbuses, called vaporetti, to San Marco.
We got the chance, to have a look around the lagoon and the canal. It was very interesting.
When we arrived at San Marco, we went to the Basilika di San Marco.
It is the most famous of the city's churches, constructed in 828, and one of the best known examples of Byzantine architecture. Originally it was the chapel of the Doge, and has only been the city's cathedral since 1807. For its opulent design, gilded Byzantine mosaics, and its status as a symbol of Venetian wealth and power, from the 11th century on the building has been known by the nickname Chiesa d'Oro (Church of gold).
Woooow, this church is really awesome. It looks like everything is out of gold. Everywhere we could see great paintings on the walls and the ceiling. I have never seen something so impressive before.
Then we went to the treasure chamber. Here we could see golden candleholders, crosses and a lot more. It was very interesting.
After that we went up to the top of the church. Here were a lot of cool things to see at the St Mark’s Museum. From here you got a wonderful view into the nave.
Especially one room in the Museum was very great. The painting on the ceiling was very impressive.
Then we went outside on the balcony. From here we got a great view over the Piazza San Marco and the sea promenade.
The Horses of Saint Mark were installed on the basilica in about 1254. After a long restoration, since the 1990s they have been kept in St Mark’s Museum (inside the basilica). The horses now on the facade of the cathedral are bronze replicas.
We spend the rest of the day on the Piazza and the Promenade.
Here we wanted to use the time to enjoy the impression of the carnival.
It is said that the Carnival of Venice was originated from a victory of the "Repubblica della Serenissima", Venice previous name, against the Patriarch of Aquileia, Ulrico in the year 1162. In the honor of this victory, the people started to dance and make reunions in San Marco Square. Apparently this festival started on that period and become official in the renaissance. After a long absence, the carnival return to operate in 1979.
It was great to see all these different costumes.

Today started with a big surprise for host dad. When he came out of the bathroom, he saw the candles and a balloon in the shape of a heart, that host mum had prepared for their wedding day. He was very happy about it.
After the breakfast we went to Venice. From the Bus station we took the waterbus to Murano. Before we reached Murano we stopped at Cimitero di san Michele, the Graveyard Island.
It was a very impressive graveyard. When we entered it, we saw hundreds of white crosses. On most of them where pictures of dead. Everywhere where flowers, so everything looks very colorful. I have never seen something like that before.
After that we reached big white walls with lots and lots of names and pictures of people that had passed away. There were also a lot of flowers for them. It reminded me a little of the pictures of American graveyards.
Out of respect for the dead, we took only Pictures from the outside.
After our short stop, we reached Murano.
Here we could see wonderful glass art, but it wasn’t allowed to take photos in the shops.
But when we walked through the streets we found three great sculptures there.
Later we also found a small restaurant, which has decorated the tables outside with some beautiful glass flowers.
After a while, we went back to the San Marco Piazza. There we decided to go and have a look at the Palazzo Ducale.
The Doge's Palace is a gothic palace and was the residence of the Doge of Venice, the supreme authority of the Republic of Venice.
Sadly we weren’t allowed to take pictures from the wonderful paintings and sculptures inside. So I can’t show you how great the biggest wall painting in the world looks like. But we could take some Pictures with some sculptures outside.
The court and the prisons were originally in the Doge's Palace. A famous inmate was Giacomo Casanova. The new prison was built across the Rio de Palazzo from the palace. It was connected to the palace by the Bridge of Sighs.
At first it was a little bit scary to look around the prison, but then it was very interesting. The cells were really small. And on the walls you could see some texts that the inmates had written on them.
We walked over the Bridge of Sights, to the new prison. When we watched out of the small window, we could see the lagoon.
We spend the rest of the day at the Piazza and looked at the people in the wonderful costumes.
When it was getting dark, we took the bus back to the hotel

Today was our last day in Venice. I was a little bit sad about it, but we wanted to enjoy this last day. And at the end, it was the best day that we had here in Venice.
It was the last time, we took the bus to Venice. And today we could take some Pictures from our tour.
We took the waterbus to the Santa Maria Della Salute church. On the way to the church we had a great look around Venice from the Canal Grande.
In Venice everything was transported on boats.
On the place before the church, were a lot of people in costumes, which we haven’t seen before.
And the best was that we got the chance to take some pictures with them together today. They were really friendly and it made a lot of fun, making photos together.
This group comes from Vienna. They wanted to know more about us and Toy Voyagers, so mum told them a little bit.
After a while we decided to have a look at the church.
Later we went back to the Piazza San Marco with the waterbus. We planned to climb up the Campanile di San Marco, the high Clock tower on the Piazza.
From so high above we had a wonderful look over Venice. Everything seemed to be so extremely small.

Then we went down to the Piazza again and enjoyed the rest of the day while watching some more costumes.
It was really a great ending of our trip to Venice today. I hope I get the chance to come here again.

Today my mum told me, that I will travel to my first host. I’m really curious how it will be there. I think it will be really funny.
Because this is the last time that we were all together, we planned to go bowling
First we looked around and I explained the other, how to play the game.
After that, I was searching for a bowling ball. Hmm I think I will take the red one today.
Hmm think I have to clean the ball a little bit, before we start.
Because it was Saturday night there where a competition, which lane was the best in a certain time. Yeah, we made the third place in the competition.
After a time, we needed a little Break. This game is very exhausting.
Then it was my turn. I am really good in this game.
At the end we were waiting for the final result.
I was the winner and Snowball made the last place. So she was a little bit disappointed
I am the best
Now we are all very tired. Let’s go to bed.
Bowling made a lot of fun and I think it was a great ending of the time that we spend together.

Captain is also traveling to his new host today. I wish him a great journey.
So I have to say goodbye to my beloved family and to my new friends.
My friends hugged and said goodbye to me. I think I will miss my new friends. But hopefully we will meet again one day.
Then I said goodbye to my family. Bye Bye Snowball and Happy. I will miss you so much.
Before Captain and I left, Happy sang us a wonderful song.

Dr.Kröbner and his TV-friends wellcomed me warmly, after huggs
and kisses from Dr.Kröbner, 3*Euro, BrunoAusTirol, Cosyfuzz and
Mr. Lemony.
I have given Dr.Kröbner the card from Venice, he was very happy
then hostmum Andrea showed me where I can sleep.

Thank God no rain so we decided to made a nice trip to an old
abbey from the Benedictine order in Lamspringe. But first we´ve
must taken a walk through the forest, because Mr. Shaun´s
sheepdog Paul we take care of at the moment, has to calm down a
little bit
. So we hiked to a very, very old tree, tried to climb on it
while hostmom Andrea took nice pictures from us.

By sunshine we reached the monastery garden with many
attractions: a small millpond with ducks, an old watermill, strange
sculptures and funny bushes with red branches. The sun was
wonderfull warm and we had a lot of fun there

Yesterday I was in Stuttgart on the sun safety exhibition.
Mom if you ever need an awning or an umbrella in the future , ask
me....
We flew to Stuttgart, the flight left at 6:40 from Hanover ..... yawn
Unfortunately the weather was not so beautiful ..... and we have a
window seat with no window....
First, I have read the safety precautions, it is better

a trip to Fritzlar with hostmum and Hoppsi
Fritzlar is a small German town (pop. 15,000) in the Schwalm-Eder district in northern Hesse, 160 km (99 mi) north of Frankfurt, with a storied history. It can reasonably be argued that the town is the site where the Christianization of northern Germany (north and east of the Roman Limes) began and the birthplace of the German empire as a political entity

The St. Peter's Cathedral is one of the most beautiful Romanesque-Gothic churches in Hesse.
The Cathedral of Fritzlar measures 43 meters (from the basement to the top). He continues to shape the cityscape of the small town in the Schwalm-Eder-Kreis (formerly Circle Fritzlar-Homberg).
built and rebuilt several times, combines the Cathedral of St. Peter Roman and Gothic styles. In the oldest part of the Fritzlarer Domes are the crypts, which can also be viewed as the Cathedral, ..but not in the moment

Even the rest of town around the market in Fritzlar is determined by imposing half-timbered buildings

on Saturday an envelope arrived and a little bunny jumped out, it
was Hase a TV from hostmum Andrea and she was very
happy
but no time for Hase to aclimate at home .....
We have received an invitation from Yosemite.
We can visit her in Lichtenfels, what an adventure....
After a long drive we arrived at the hotel and first we made a nap

Yesterday we took a walk through the beautiful village where my
hostmum lives. Near the river Wispe I made a rest to take a look at
the first springgreens…. After a while hostdad hustle me to hurry
up…. Because the green is not so quick by growing
Than we passed the churchyard with the old Church, the tower ist
over 400 years old….
Later we visit the “Central Park” of Delligsen to take a view at
Delligsen newest attraction: An Eastereggcrown..J. very special….

I spend the weekend in Bad Wildungen,
Bad Wildungen lies in the eastern foothills of the Kellerwald range in the so-called Waldeck holiday regio...
Mum or Dad if you have any problems with your health its good to
be in Bad Wildungen because...
Wildungen is a therapeutic spa with springs that bring forth water containing iron, magnesium and carbonic acid ("sparkling" or "carbonated").

yesterday my new friends..Spotty and Dotty Wot from Australia, Mr.Lemony and I visited a mountain with a funny name "Köterberg" or mountain wuff
Here are some pictures from the journey, the weather was still beautiful

The Köterberg, at 495.8 m (1,627 ft) above sea level, is the highest hill in the Lippe Uplands and lies on the state border between North Rhine-Westphalia and Lower Saxony in North Germany. On its northern slopes is the village of Köterberg
The Köterberg was already being mentioned in Lippe's boundary deeds in the 16th century. The Brothers Grimm called it the Götzenberg in their German Legends , because it was here that folk prayed to the gods of the heath. The Köterberg was also the setting for their fairy tale The Three Little Birds. ....

Yesterday was a fun day, Spotty and Dotty have called me to show me something.
A flying saucer, the two thought it would be a good idea for me to fly home.
Dr. Kröbner was skeptical and thought it would be better if we raise helmets.

Today was a great day.
I came back home from my first host Dr. Kröbner for the Easter holidays, before I start my trip to my new host Leslie in Chile.
Snowball, Sam Hop, Freddi and Viper were waiting for me.
They hugged me to welcome me home.
Then I showed them the presents I brought with me from Dr. Kröbner. I gave everyone a small chocolate bunny.
This present was the best. Mum and dad liked it a lot.
After that, mum took out an envelope with a wonderful card from Freddis mum inside. Mum was very happy when she saw the card.
Then we took a group picture
We planned to play a game together, but before we started I spend some time with my big brother Happy. I missed him so much.
Later in the evening we played a game called “World of Warcraft”. I was playing a fighter.
What monster should I fight next?
I think I take one out of this group. They all look a little bit scary.
This game is not easy, but it made a lot of fun. At the end we decided to call it quit, because it was so late.
Now it is time to go to bed, I am very tired after my trip into the envelope.
And when I wake up, I hope the Easter bunny will have brought us some presents.

Today we went to the parents from my dad. When we arrived there we saw, that the Easter bunny had left some presents for us.
I found a lot of eggs, hidden everywhere in the garden.
Hmm here must be an egg, but where?
It made so much fun, searching all the presents the Easter bunny had left us. We found so much of them.

I am so happy, because today I will travel on to my next host Leslie. Viper will also travel on to his next host.
We hugged everybody and said goodbye. I will miss everybody, but it was nice to see them before my journey goes on.
After that, the others had a surprise for us. Domino gave us a flower for our next hosts. I hope Leslie will like it.
Then we took one last group picture together.
Before I left I gave Snowball my wonderful hat, for the time I am not at home.
Then it was time to leave. Viper and I packed everything together and went into our envelops.
Bye bye everybody. I hope I will arrive soon at Chile, so I could get out of this small envelope.

This is Ping reporting from Chile!
I arrived today after more than 3 weeks of journey inside that tight envelope! arrgh that was long! but I'm finally out!
and I was a little dazzled for some minutes...
As soon as I got out, I met Pato, my new TV host and Ducky, another TV staying here
I gave Pato the gifts I brought and he was specially happy about the photo of his brother Ranil!
And Leslie told me to say thank you very much! She loved the postcard!

As you know, here it's autumn, and even though some days are very foggy, others very cold and some others very rainy, that doesn't mean we can't have fun, does it!?
A couple of days ago we decided it was enough time locked at home in the city and decided spend the weekend somewhere else!
Pato said I would like the place where we are going
So far the road is looking nice!
Can you see those houses back there? yeah, the ones that look more like a white stain on the hill? Well that's where we are going!
When we were almost there we passed through a small rural cemetery!
And here we are!
This is Queule! The small fishing village where we came to stay at my hosts' summerhouse
Pato says the beaches are his favourite part
As soon as we got there we started walking through the hills to try to catch the sun set!
What a beautiful view, mum!
And look at these little flowers, they look like made of cotton
This is Queule river.
Ducky had been here once before, so he told me that this little dock was destroyed by the the 2010 tsunami
I can't imagine a tsunami right where I am standing!
I hope there won't be one the days we are here...
Wow! A tumbril just passed us!
This is an exotic country!
Then we finally got where we were walking to, the view point of Ronca beach!
No wonder why it's called Ronca! It means "snore" in spanish, and the waves here are very loud so all I could imagine if I closed my eyes was a big man snoring
...thats why I prefered to keep them open!
At our feet there were different kinds of mushrooms
Do you think they would give me strength for the walk if I ate them?
Pato suggested something, but Leslie said we better didn't. See? I'm being good taken care of, here
Then we sat to wait for the sunset...
But the sky wasn't turning any orange or yellow...
So we decided to climb a little higher so maybe we could see a bit more from up this tree, but no sunset colours from up here either, so we figured it was still early...
...so we decided to climb back down to explore the grounds for a while
I told you there were different kinds of mushrooms around here
But this one doesn't look as inviting as the last one, I must say.
And we found berries too!
These we did try a little and they were very good
But then we remembered what we are here for, the sunset!! So the three of us climbed up the tree again, and there it was...
The beautiful orange sky.
Pato told us that in summer the sun sets in front of the sea, but now that winter is close it moves behind the hill...
Then, on our way back to the house, we saw some even better colours in the sky!
Tomorrow will be sunny, forecast says
Now I'm off to bed, it was a tiring day!

First of all I must apologize for the delay in my updates! We have been all very busy here helping Leslie with her studies... exams are really hard, I can tell by her face!
In that weekend in Queule, the next morning Pato said he wanted to show us his favourite spot in the house, the balcony!
Look at that sun mum! It really didn't look like an autumn day at all!
The view is beautiful from up here, what do you think mum? Back there you can see the river mouth of River Queule
Aaahhhh... the fresh sea breeze
I think I wouldn't mind having this as my balcony view either
Then Pato said we could get a better view from a higher spot -but we are in the balcony in the second floor! We can't get any higher than this!- I said...
But i was wrong
We climbed to the roof!
The fall would have been quite painful, but we are all skilled and adventutous enough
From up here we could see another part of the town and the hill behind it... thats the Coastal Range!
Then we went down to the garden to see the beautiful flowers
Do you like this one mum? It's a Chilco and it's the hummingbirds' favourite meal!
Pato said we would walk to the beach later, so we took a nice rest under the shadow of this fern for a while to save energy for the walk
Nice!
After lunch we started walking. First we went down to the town an walked by the water and all the old fishing boats and old docks!
As you can see Ducky and I were excited and didn't even wait for Pato to come and pose with us hihi
Ohh Ducky...
There are still some old wooden docks that survived the 2010 tsunami, but not all boats had the same fate
I would love to be Captain Ping on one of these boats one day!
By the way, can you see the american vulture back there?
We all were exciting about sailing and somehow when Leslie got a little distracted we hurried and boarded one of the boats on the shore planning to start rowing as soon as we could, but unfortunately Leslie saw us before we could start, and said we would go walking...
Here we started climbing the Coastal Range
The beach we were walking to is about 45 minutes away from the town, walking through the hill
Only a few minutes away from the town we found the first viewpoint! It's called "el tope" (the top), look mum, what a beautiful view!
The whole river mouth and the penninsula. In the point of that hill behind me there is a lighthouse, but it's too small to be seen from here.
In front of us there was "Playa La Herradura" (the horseshoe beach), of course it's called like that because of its shape, 9km of beach!
Pato told me that once he walked along the whole beach and got giant blisters on his feet!
Back there is the town!
The day was a little hot so we agreed to stop and rest for a while before keep on walking...
Pato said he was sure we could find some water in Leslie's bag...
And he did!
But Ducky then said maybe we could find something even better inside that bag!
And we did!!
So we quickly forgot about the water...
Well... what happened next needs no words to be explained...
Hey! we were just resting!
After that we kept on walking because the beach was waiting for us!!
The road through the hill goes up and down... One minute we are on the top of a hill and then we are by the water again!
Can you guess the name of this rock? I'll give you one clue, it's the king of the jungle
...king of the jungle with some trees on his back!
I saw a kingfisher! Pity I look blurry in this photo, but Hey! It's a proof that I saw it!
Once again we are at the top with a beautiful view to the river...
And found some more mushrooms on the way, same as the day before!
Then we passed another of the view point of Ronca Beach!
The beautiful beach we came to watch the sun set the day before!
Ahhh, beautiful!
And here there were lots of mushrooms on the ground!
Then we finally got to the beach we were walking to! "Agua de las Niñas beach" (water of the girls) It's called like that because the water here is so shallow that's perfectly safe for little kids
(and little toyvoyagers too! )
I took a well deserved rest on this rock after the long walk!
I found a very strange rock with holes! What do you think might have caused them? Me and the other discussed a few different possibilities like erosion, but do you think it could have been the aliens?
It was getting a little late and the sun was going down fast...
So before leaving, we wanted to leave our mark

I visited the most important hill in Temuco, Ñielol hill.
By the way, I like the way the "Ñ" letter sounds, it's somewhat between N and I
Some people say that Ñielol hill is an extinct volcano
I hope it isn't, because I would not like to see it in action since it's right next to the city!
We went up (by car - we were feeling a little lazy) to the main viewpoint from where we could see a big part of the city!
This is Temuco to the south
Then we moved to another part of the hill to see these famous Mapuche totems!
They are called Chemamulls, which in Mapudungún (Mapuche language) means "wooden people", and they are 4 meters tall!
This tree behind us is called ''Patagüa'', the tree under which spanish and mapuches (the local aborigins) signed a peace treaty in 1881, after 300 years of war.
It's a very old an important tree! I wish it was able to talk, I wonder what it could tell me!
I wonder how is the weather back at home right now... here it's still winter but the trees are starting to grow their leaves back and the days are getting slowly nicer and nicer!
When sunset time came, we went to a lower view point to enjoy the beautiful orange colours in the sky

Hi my dear mum!
After almost three months since the last time I wrote, we are finally free here. Leslie is finally done with her exams and we are all happy that the books are gone from the desk and the tables and couch and everywhere!
All this time we've been peretty much all the time bored sitting and waiting for something exciting to happen, but it didn't until now...
So now im going to show you a nice trip that we made to a city five hours south called Puerto Montt
By the way, maybe you'll notice why Puerto Montt is known for having a permanent grey sky...
Look at that poor skinny horse with a tumbril
We walked around the city until we found the main church of Puerto Montt, can you guess what the dome is made of? it's made out of copper because Chile is the biggest copper exporter in the world
And this is the main square of the city
After a while walking we sat down to rest in these seats with nice designs on our backs
These are Chilco flowers, i've seen some in Leslie's garden
Then after resting we walked for a while through the shore
This couple is very famous, they're called "sentados frente al mar" (seated by the sea). There is a song called Puerto Montt and it tells the story of these two lovers
you can listen to it here
In the afternoon we did the church trail, a road full of typical churches through the slope of the hills next to the water, very beautiful!
So first we started getting away from the city to the east
And this is the first church we saw. I learned that all the churches around here are built with tiles
This one has a few tiles below the roof, can you see them?
We passed through a small town
In this area there are many many creeks and waterfalls coming from the mountain range to the sea, and we stopped at one
Aahhh the beautiful sound of the water
And this is the last church of the trail!

But in Maullín there was nothing to see exept the main church, so we kept on driving south....
...Until we reached the next town, Carelmapu
Our good tourit guide Pato taught us that the word Carelmapu is in Mapudungún language, the language of the Mapuche people, the aborigins of this area, and it means Green Land... which I could see with my own eyes, it's very green around here!
We went to see the oldest church in the town, the Church of Candelaria.
It was built in 1860 and is now a National Monument
It got damaged in the big 8,8 Earthquake in 2010, so is now under reparation, that's why we couldn't go peep upstairs, the ground could habe broken uder our feet!
And then we went to see the sunset at Mar Brava beach
Back there you can see an island, that is Chiloé island, the first of all the islands of the south of Chile, you can see that in my map
It was a very nice day!

If you take a look at my map you can see that the area around Puerto Montt is surrounded by lakes, so today we decided to drive around them
So first we drove to a town called Llanquihue and we saw the main church
As we walked around Pato was a good tourist guide and told us about this place, he said that many many years ago german settlers came to this area around the lakes
I think I wouldn't mind moving here either... the landscapes are so beautiful!
But we didn't stay in Llanquihue, but kept on driving through the road next to the lake and found a cemetery. We walked around it and the graves were all german, it felt somehow like home!
And now I seemed like the tourist guide teaching everyone what ruht in frieden means
The cemetery had a lovely view
Then we kept driving north and on our way saw many farms and plantantions.
And this was our destination, the city of Frutillar which was founded by german settlers, so it looked like a little germany
german architecture, signs, people and whatnot, very nice!
Here I'm outside the theater which is very famous, it's called Teatro del Lago "theater of the lake", very appropiate name, don't you think so?
Frutillar is a famous holiday spot for tourists, people from all over the world come to this beach in summer
(and not only people but also toyvoyagers)
And we found a church so went inside to peep
luckily there was no one inside so we didn't have to stay as silent or quiet
And this was [color=royalblue]our last day in Puerto Montt...

Summer is almost here so we decided to spend the weekend in the summerhouse near the beach, although the forecast said it wasn't going to be a very summerlike weekend.
On the way there I could see some great views of the pacific shores
Once we got in the summerhouse we couldn't go to the beach, so we stayed in the garden, and since it's the end of spring all the flowers are in their best time!
This nice little plant is called Murtilla, it's endemic to southern Chile and very yummy
I heard that some good drinks can be made out of it!
We spent the rest of the day wandering around the garden because the weather didn't allow us to go to the beach
So I had fun watching the life in the garden from closely
Now I'm back in Temuco writing and surfing the internet!

Today we made a trip to the mountain range near the argentinian border
As we got closer some nice flowers appeared on the road
And closer we found Araucarias, the national chilean tree!
Ouch!
Soon we started noticing the height we were at
And we kept going up...
The view was really beautiful from up here!
And the wind was very cold, but fresh mountain air... ahhh
It was a very very nice day!
Now we are preparing for christmas

Yesterday we went with Leslie to finish her last minute christmas shopping and saw this giant beautiful tree at the mall
And later in the night we celebrated Christmas Eve
The tree looked beautiful and dinner was yummy, it was a perfect night! My first christmas in summer

Do you remember the city of Puerto Montt that I visited a few months ago? well... now we live here! We moved in summer and eversince we had problems with the internet because we were living in an area with the poorest signal you can imagine, but last week we moved again to a second house in Puerto Montt and now finally everything is normal so I can write again
University started again and Leslie seems busy again, but we have still taken some time to explore around... It's autumn now and the weather is changing quickly so now I'm really happy that i have a scarf with me
I will come back with more photos soon

In Llanquihue there was a pond with lots of lotuses, but because of the time of the year none had flowers.
To get to our destination, Frutillar, we had two choices, the high way of a small road through the hills by the side of Llanquihue Lake , so we chose the last option because hills by the lake sounded like a good combination for nice landscapes
What an interesting mural
And here we reached Llanquihue lake, the sign says that we are at the "swans viewpoint", and no wonder why it has this name...
giant black necked swans!
And here we started out way through the small road to Frutillar!
Autumn arrived at this side of the world and you could see yellow and orange leaves everywhere on the ground
I really like the colors of autumn!
Most of the land around the lake is used in farms, back there very small you can see Osorno volcano
We stopped for a while in these gardens, what a beautiful view we had from up here!
And after driving a bit more we arrived in Frutillar
This is the main theater that I once told you about
Frutillar is a very musical city, almost everything here is related to music, there was even a fake piano by the lake!
Autumn is all around! What wonderful colors it brings!
Look what I saw outside the goverment building, do you notice anything familiar?
it is because this city was founded for the german settlers back around 1850... could I stay and say Im one of the settlers maybe?

A few days ago we thought of exploring around the undiscovered south, so we got in the car and started driving
There are really beautiful green prairies around!
After driving for a while we arrived to a small town called Fresia,
there was not much to see there, there weren't even people on the streets, a very small and quiet town it was.
This seemed to be the main church of the town.
As there was not much to see in the town of Fresia, we kept driving on the roads through the country.
This seems to be the land of mushrooms!
I found one so big and round that almost resembles a bun!
In the middle of nowhere we found this monument standing by the road, it marks the place where the last battle between the spanish and the chileans was, on March 6th, 1820.
This is the coat of arms of this place, Fresia.
All the trees look beautiful dressed in yellow
Then we kept driving and on the top of a little hill we saw a church
So we drove to it, it was beautiful!
And next to the church there was a field with deers!
The fawns they were a little shy to come closer so I could only see them from the distance, but the grown up ones were friendly!
The ground was full of chestnuts, the deers loved them!
Next to the church there was a small cemetery.
When the sun started setting we went back to the car and returned to Puerto Montt.
And we went to a supermarket where I found "piñones", the seed of Araucarias (monkey puzzles - the national tree). They're sold as food, the only thing you have to do is boil them and theyre ready to eat
It was a very nice day!

We visited a train museum, it was very nice and there were lots of old trains and machines!
This is what they used to load the coal inside the trains..
Most of the trains of the museum were back there, but I couldnt go any closed because there was a closed gate that we couldnt pass.
This was the presidential car long long ago
Next to the museum there was an art gallery so we went in to see a few paintings...
This was my favourite
Now I'm packing my bags, tomorrow I leave back home!
