Travelog for: Hammy

Muelheim, Germany - 14th August 2006

By: Ver

Hey!

I'm Hammy from Germany and I've been so excited of becoming a toyvoyager that I did not get any sleep the last nights, neither did my guardian. But today my dream finally became true and I'm proudly wearing my brand new and shiny Travel Tag. Wow. From now on I'll be "Hammy aka TT100852".
And of course I set off for my first official journey immediately where I met strange natives and got my first job.

More about that later, I'm really done now and need to get some sleep.

Gute Nacht
Euer TT100852

So, I recovered from all the excitement yesterday and can't wait to tell you everything about my first day as a Toy Voyager.

Well, after I got my Travel Tag, it came with a really noble necklet,
my guardian, her flatmates and me celebrated this fine event with a glass of sparkling wine.
But that's not all, my guardian told me that she has to go back to work as her lunch break was already over and she asked me if I would like to come with her.
What a question, this could become my very first adventure...

There were really many people in the office, and everybody seemed to be busy with doing something. After I spent the first minutes hiding under a desk I said to myself Hammy, don't be shy! and started to explore the place.

I crawled to the next room and suddenly I was standing in front of a monkey. But this was not what made me freeze, that animal was going commando, if you know what I mean. After a few seconds I realised that I just met a native, who else would run around naked at the office?
I learned that his name is Gerd and that he is the secret boss of the whole company.
I must have looked very impressive with my necklet as he asked me if I would like to help him with his job: being important. Not without beeing proud I climbed up his leather chair and took place beside my new friend. Puh, it is really exhausting sitting in such a big chair and making an important face for hours. I was glad when my guardian collected me for going home.
But before she took this nice picture of us

Hallo, it’s me again, Hammy!

I have been busy the last days with packing my trunks for my first real journey: I’m going to London tomorrow.

I’m really excited about the trip but I’m also sad to leave Mulheim because I’m planning to find someone in London who will take care of me and show me other places around the world.

Tonight we had a small farewell party with my friends who will come with me to London, if they are not too hungover tomorrow to catch the plane….

Here are my last pictures from Mulheim

Puh, just arrived in fantastic London.

Today was all about travelling: train, plane, coach and finally the tube.

I really enjoyed the 50 minutes on the plane. I got a seat at the window and could see all the small houses and streets of the netherlands. I hope to go there one day as I think the people living there are more my size – how else would they fit into their houses?

We will go now to suss out where to get the best beer around Earl’s Court.
Tomorrow: sightseeing

Cheers!

After a dangerous night out yesterday (did you know that the cars are driving on the wrong side of the road over here? Tricky!) I started the day with a full english breakfast to get prepared for the big sightseeing tour, and needed a rest after finnishing all the beans, bacon, sausages, eggs, tomatoes and bread.

But after a short nap we managed to start our tour and here are the first pics

I do not need many words for today:

shopping

After even the strangest souvenirs were sold out and our tea supplies were stocked up for at least the next decade I primarily wanted to take a bath in the Piccadilly Fountain. But I got scared of all the pigeons bathing there already that we took some more pictures instead...

Hi!

I will go to visit the Notting Hill Carnival today, and I am really excited already.

But first I will tell you about yesterday night:
After a big shopping tour we went for a beer to the Sherlock Holmes Pub, I hoped to meet some more adventurers there. Unfortunately Sherlock Holmes was not home.

Hallo!

Today was the big day, I found a new guardian!
I had a great day at the Carnival with my old mates from Germany and we met a lot of nice people.
On the picture you can see me with my new guardian and her friends. They are from Israel and France and promised to take me with them when they visit their home-countries.
Until this I will stay with them in London, I think here are a lot of places we will check out together...

So, good bye for now, I hope my new guardian will help me to keep you informed about my adventures!

Take care,
Hammy
