Travelog for: Spencer

Hi everyone,

My name is Spencer. I am a dog from St Ives, Cornwall, Great Britain. Up to now I have worked on a small fishing boat called Blue Belle. See me in front of my place of work.


In my spare time I chase seagulls and enjoy beaches.












Today I saw three toys sitting on the beach. We got chatting.


They told me there names: LewisHH, Clairchen and Hoppsi. They are Toyvoyagers travelling the world and enjoying life.


It sounded like a good idea to me. I have decided to join them and become a Toyvoyager myself.  I asked Scilly and Richy and they agreed.
The four of us took a long last look at Porthgwidden beach and I am quiet excited. I will have my first train ride and my first flight tomorrow.

Hi everyone,

Today is a long journey day - my first journey out of Cornwall. How exciting!
See me in the train looking out of the window.


My new friends are travelling with me. Here is a photo of all of us.


Then the train crossed the Tamar river by the Royal Albert Bridge. This marked the border between Cornwall and the rest of the world.




The train arrived London at Paddington Station. See me in front of the great hall where the famous Ms Marple took the train at 16:50.


After a security check (where we were not allowed to take a picture of)  at Heathrow I went to the boarding gate for our flight to Hamburg, Germany, where Scilly and Richy lives.


Look at me exploring the cabin of the aeroplane.




Then it was time to sit down, fasten seat belt and enjoy the service.
Look at me having a great time as a travelling dog. I love flying.




My next update will come from Hamburg, Germany. But for now its bye bye folks!

Hi everyone,

my first week in Germany was very quiet. Scilly was very busy. And this weekend the weather is quite terrible: windy and rainy.
But I enjoyed the new environment.
We prepared the Christmas decorations. See me with this funny fat round man called Father Christmas.


Scilly had a task for us. Lewis and me in a competition against Hoppsi and Clairchen. Who will put together the Christmas tea lights faster. See us in progress.

As we all did it so well Scilly gave each of us a German Lebkuchen heart...hmmm yummy


Then we posed in the middle of the Christmas decorations.


I like this red Christmas tree in the window.

Today Scilly came home from work very early. Time for a walk in the Alsterpark.
See me on a bridge in the park.




Look, this german dog was very curious about me 


After it got dark we saw this house which was decorated for christmas.


We finished our walk at the airport. Look at me in front of this big Advent wreath.

Hi everyone,

Today Scilly and Richy showed me the harbour of Hamburg. What a big harbour. Much bigger than the ones I have seen in Cornwall.
See me in front of the Landungsbrücken.








They even have Mississippi steamers on the river Elbe.




Then I spotted the english cruise ship Queen Mary 2 in the dock. Lovely to see a british ship.


But what do I see????  They changed the home harbour Southampton to Hamilton, Bermuda!


In the neighbour dock was another cruise ship the P&O MS Oriana.


Our trip ended at the Elbphilarmonie (concert hall) which is currently beeing built.

Hi everyone,

Scilly showed us the "Alte Albtunnel" today, a tunnel for cars, cyclists and pedestrians below the river Elbe. It was build 100 years ago to connect the docklands with Hamburg.

Hi everyone,

Today Scilly showed us the St. Michaelis church, known as “Hamburger Michel”. The Michel is Hamburgs landmark. See me in front of the church.


There are many Christmas markets in Hamburg. This is the entrance of the biggest one in front of the city hall. The entrance is really nice, isn’t it? So many lights!


There are so many things to see and so many people! Amazing!


I can’t believe…. I have seen Father Christmas! He is real! Can you see him in his sleigh with his flying reindeers behind me?


This is a view back to the Christmas market with its beautiful Christmas tree.

Hi everyone,

this weekend we spend in Mecklenburg at Scillys parents. This is Scillys childhood home.



In the morning we baked Christmas cakes. See me with the rolling pin.





Look at me with my friends with a great basket filled with our cakes…. Hmm yummi!



That’s me in the afternoon while drinking a cup of coffee and eating a cake.





In the evening we decorated the Christmas tree. It is nice, isn’t it?

I spend Christmas time in Hamburg. Look at me and my friends under the Christmas tree and with all the presents.

Hi everyone,

today is the last day of the year. We spend the weekend in Mecklenburg. In the evening we will have a New Years Eve party. But in the afternoon we took a long walk through Ludwigslust. See the nice palace behind me.



This is the view opposite the castle with a waterfall.





We found this church in the park behind the palace.



There are many small lakes and streams in the park.



On the way home Scilly showed us the old castle in Neustadt-Glewe.





Unfortunately the castle museum was closed.



Now I'm looking forward to the New Years Eve party.

Happy New Year!

Hi everyone,

This evening we had a little New Years Eve party. We sat on the party table and talked to each other.



Scilly bought some roman candles. Look, that’s me with my favorite one. It is funny, isn’t it?



At midnight we saw the fantastic firework. This was a nice start for the new year!



And Scilly had a surprise for me. I will take part on a Germany-RR and start within the next week. I’m a little bit sad to leave all my new friends. But I also love to travel  I am soooo excited!

Hi everyone,

Today I said good bye to my friends in Hamburg.
I will take part on the Big Germany-RR. Hoppsi is going to Duisburg. LewisHH and Clairchen are staying at home.















Now I am on the way to HoBi. I am looking forward to my next adventures.

Hello Mum ,

today I arrived safely at HoBi’s home in Lower Saxony.



Murph and Orpheus opened my envelope and helped me out of my envelope.



I showed my gifts!



A big thank you from HoBi.

The weather was horrible. But I want to see the world, so we decided to make a trip to Lamspringe.
There  is an old abbey.





At the entrance to the abbey garden we found this interesting thing.



In the past criminals had this ring around there neck and they were in the  pillory.

In the park was this old mill.



They made the meal for the abbey there.

Unfortunately the water wheel didn’t move, because it is winter now.



They had a big playground in the park. Orpheus and I wanted to play on the seesaw, but I was too heavy.



Here starts the Lamme. It is a little river that flows through Bad Salzdetfurth, where HoBi and Murph are living.



We saw three lakes – this was the biggest.



I think that I will like it here – and hope to find a lot of more nice place in Lower Saxony.

Hi Mum,

Today I made a sightseeing-trip through the hometown of Murph. Here you can see the emblem of the town.



Bad Salzdetfurth is an old mining city. And there are many machines out of this time all over the city.

On this sign you can learn a lot about the salt production.



This is an old mine head tower.



Wheels likes these ones were inside the towers.



There are many beautiful houses in the city.



There are two salines in the spa gardens.  In the Past people used them for producing salt.



The salines are not working in the winter time. In one of the salines I found this. Beautiful – isn’t it?



This bumbling stone is really funny. You sit in it and then you bumble. It tingles in the belly!



Next to the bumbling stone is a colorful house for doves.



On the way back I saw this beautiful house.



Bad Salzdetfurth is a nice small town!

Hello Mum,

Today we walked along the ‘Laves-Kulturpfad’ – a path of culture.



The path started at the Derneburger Castle. It is really big.





At a small river we saw this old weir. It belongs to an old mill.



We walked over the Laves-Bridge and crossed the Nette – a small river in Lower Saxony.



Look – this house is in the water.



There was a distillery in the next village.  The distillery produces the ‘Astenbecker Weizenkorn‘.





Maybe I can try it in the next days?

Then we made a rest next to a big fishpond.



These small fisherman houses were beautiful!



Then we found a strange thing. It was a pyramid in the middle of the forest. It is the grave of the first owner of the Castle.

There are still coffins inside the mausoleum. But it was too dark for a photo.



The last thing we found in the forest was an old Greek temple. It was used as a teahouse in the Past.



Then we went back home – to our cosy warm chair.
