MOM!!! I made it all the way to Phillipsburg Kansas in the United States! I am so happy to finally be here. My host mom is really nice and promises to show me as much as she can while I am visiting Tomorrow we are going to Nebraska to buy a new vehicle she promised me (and Ellie Muh, the other TV that is visiting) that we can help her pick out the perfect one! I can't wait to see what all there is out there to see! My host mom really loved the postcard you sent and the candy I will talk soon mom, Love Pipps

Hi Mom Today we went on a road trip to Kearney, Nebraska to look for a new car for my host mom. We didn't find exactly what we were looking for so we ended up coming home with the same car but we are still looking and my host mom said if we are lucky I will be here when she finds the perfect one and I can ride in it After looking around at different dealerships we decided we were hungry and headed for Red Lobster! I had garlic butter linguine with lump crab meat. It was delicious mom

After we ate we went shopping. My host mom and her fiance got a few movies at walmart. It was a nice quiet day, my host brothers stayed in Kansas with their grandma. The quiet day was much needed.

Just before heading back to Kansas we decided to stop at Cold Stone Creamery and get some icecream. The kind I got was Coffee Lovers, my host mom said it would be delicious and it WAS!! It was coffee icecream, caramel swirls, nuts, and chocolate covered toffee bits. It was great

Tonight the weather was finally good enough to grill outside. We have had so much snow it has been hard to really get out and do much. The grill out was fun, first we had to prepare the meat. So we marinated it, then we grilled it then it was time to FEAST

Tomorrow is my Host Dad's birthday so today we wanted to something special. We decided to make cupcakes! It was alot of fun, and a bit messy but in the end we all really enjoyed the tasty treat! My host dad had a bad day at work so our cupcakes really cheered him up!

Today is his birthday! We tried a new recipe it was called Spaghetti Pie, it was basically baked spaghetti but it was alot of fun to prepare. First we broke up the spaghetti noodles, then we sauted the onions, then we cut the mushrooms, mixed it all with the sauce and voila! We had a wonderfully delicious casserole!

My host mom has been really busy these last few months, more busy than she ever thought. She works all day doing taxes (and it is that time of year) then she takes care of her kids and does online college at night...Phew it makes me tired just to think about it! Today she was supposed to go do taxes in a town about an hour and fifteen minutes away. So we were able to ride on the dash and see the snowy roads the whole way! When we got there we went sightseeing and saw an old school house and a really neat thrift store. Hill City is a pretty boring town but it was nice to see some stuff. I miss you mom!!

Hi Mom!! Today the weather was really great and we went to a small town about 20 miles away to the Logan Lake. The lake was beautiful!! There were even some people fishing, we saw ducks too. We tried to feed the ducks some bread that my host mom brought along but these ducks were NOT friendly and flew away when we got too close. It was ok though we went on a nature walk, my host brothers really loved that!

Hi Mom!  Hi everyone!

I have arrived in California finallyi!  It's not the fault of my previous host, who mailed me promptly and was so kind to me.    The only thing I didn't have in Kansas was ........ a tiger!  Yes, a wonderful tiger king welcomed me and when I hugged him, he hugged me back.  That's nice because I love hugs.

Hi everyone!

We went to the Sacramento River to walk dogs.  They're nice.  Very sniffy.  But they're not pugs or bulldogs or bull terriers.  They're All American Mutts.  That's cool.    But Miss Kate knows a pug I might meet later. 

Shir Khan stayed home and took a nap.

Hi Mom!

Miss Kate took me on a special trip this morning!  And early!  A trip to go to garage sales.  Shir Khan said he just wanted to stay in bed on a Saturday morning.   

We went to a neighborhood called the Fabulous Forties.  It's in Sacramento between 40th Street and 49th.  We also went to some 30-something streets.  There are some nice houses and nice things.  Each photograph is of a different garage sale.  So it was a lot!  In the last photos,  you can see I tried on a fish mask  and I found a globe ... and I'm pointing at you, Mom!

It's been busy busy busy around here!  Miss Kate threw a few bags and Shir Khan, Peach the Pooch and me in the car where Zarafeh was waiting eagerly for us. 

We headed out westward toward San Francisco.  Such a pretty Sunday!  You can see the California rolling hills are going from green to summer brown (or golden  ).

In the third to last pic are the hills that divide the dry Sacramento valley from the San Francisco Bay Area.  Miss Kate says this is where during the summer she always suddenly regrets wearing shorts to see her friends in the Bay Area. 

In Vallejo we took 37 northwest, looping around the north side of the Bay Area.  You can see we are on top of the hills looking down on the Bay Area.

Smooth driving!  Not much traffic.  Ocean here we come!  I wonder what it's like?
