Brunssum, Holland - 18th August 2011

Yes, today I arrived in Holland!
The TV's Veronica, Henk the Cow, Thea the Sheep and Billie said welcome to me.
Billie is funny, she got very nosy!
She almost dove into the envelope! She's funny!
After I got out, I started talking about my travels, about my last visit in Holland (not so long ago), about Japan and about the gift I brought with me. But I think I told it all wrong. Mom, could you please send my host a pm and explain the gift?
I really like Billie, so I gave the gift to her. She stays with her mom forever, so they will both enjoy this.
Don't we look cute together? Diffrent countries, diffrent religious, but we like each other no matter what!
As you can see, I'm doing fine here in Holland.
Talk to you soon!

Brunssum, Holland - 1st September 2011
By: Braveheart Sam
Hi mom!
The weather has been terrible here. Rain, rain, rain, hard wind, rain, rain and some more rain.
But today we took a little tour thru the garden. Look what I found?
a pond filled with koi! My host told me she has 4 big ones, 3 medium ones and 3 little ones and about 12 babies!!! One... no, two of the koi must like eachother very much!
Nice, right? Remind me not to eat fish, these big ones are beautiful!
The pond has a little waterfall and some floating islands with plants.
The backyard with one of the DV's. He's from Portugal and called Gaio (crook in Portuguese)
This brown DV is Ami, he's from Spain.
This big guy is a DV too, like me, but a Dog Voyager. He won't stay here forever, but until someone thinks he's cute enough to adopt. In the mean time he stays with our host to learn about living in a house, in a family, in a village. He's about 9 years old and is called Bruno.
Talk to you soon!
Love, Umechan

Schinveld, Holland - 4th September 2011
By: Braveheart Sam
Roadtrip!!!
Today we went for a walk in Schinveld. There is a small "airport" for gliders and small planes , Highland cattle walks free throughout the forrest and much more!
Here is the runway, a small plane is getting ready to fly.
Here's the plane, taking off. I had no time to pose!
There is also a fishing pond. Lot's of people were sitting there to fish.
In the distance you can see a cow.
Before we knew it, we were standing in the middle of a lot of cows and it was getting a bit scary. You are supposed to stay 20 meters away from them, but they started to go towards us!!
My host got a bit scared and she walked thru blackberry bushes and cut her legs open on the thorns.
After that little incident, we had to take a little rest.
We made it!
We walked back to the car and came by the airport again. We are still in danger, according to this sign. It says "dangerous territory".
The gliders don't get in the air by a motor on the plane, but by a winch.
Winch launching uses a powerful stationary engine located on the ground at the far end of the launch area. The glider is attached to one end of 800–1200 metres (about 2,500-4,000 ft) of cable and the winch rapidly winds it in. When the winch is loose of the glider, it falls down on the runway. Therefor it is a dangerous place to walk and you cannot go there. However... Gaio the DV thought diffrent about that and he got underneath the gate and ran across the runway, while our host started screaming. The dog wouldn't come to her, so she just walked away. (there was no plane-action, so it was safe for the dog).
The wooden gate where Gaio went underneath.
The sign says "dangerous, access prohibited".
Over here you see a pole with coloured bands.
Every color has a walking route. We didn't go by any color, my host knew where to go, but if you want to walk 12 kilometers for example, you folow the red band and then you know it's a long walk.
Next time we will follow a certain color, just to see were it will take us.
Till then!
Love, Umechan
